This is my third visit since a staff shake up. I can't get a beer. The wait staff guy just walked by me and I sat quietly to see if he'd help me. Nope. Same as last week. "Everybody good?" he said as he ran out of the room. Where is Tasia? Sarah? They had a beer in my hand before I sat down! Don't know why everybody is gone and the place is left in the hands of the clueless but ForePlay seems to have serious taken a face-plant. Sadly.

It seems like an ok place but I love my shots and we were poured super small ones for like 7-8 bucks. Jack Daniels!!!! Such a bummer. Probably won't come back

Fore street is my favorite street in Portland, definitely full of great shops and restaurants... I love a good sports bar and this is a cool sports bar. I know this isn't the kind of place for everyone but I enjoyed stepping in for a couple beers. They've got: cheap drinks (with lots of specials throughout the week), jello shots, free food during Patriots games (pizza, hot dogs, meatballs), pinball, pool, air hockey, fuse-ball, and darts (though they stick the dart board in a cramped fairy busy area) which all make for a fun time. It's a nice dive with cool local flavor.

Other than the doorman (one funny dude), I can't find much to be excited about at Fore Play. It's always packed full of idiots and the service is slow.

When you start your night, you probably start here at Fore Play. This is a rock-solid sports bar in Portland, ME. Nice and clean, plenty of TVs for your games. Great beer/mixed drink prices (remember to ask for a double in the pint glass). Have pool/air hockey/foozeball too for you fraternity people. Bathrooms are small, but ok. Good staff. BEST bouncer in the Old Port (photographic memory is hilarious!). Dancing upstairs, though a little packed in - it gets the job done. Great for 21+ to 30 aged people. Gets a little crowded on the weekends for the older crowd. Overall, great sports pub with decent drinks and prices.

We love this place in Old Port, it is now officially our fav sports bar when we come up to visit. We have yet to try any of the food, but are sure it;s pretty great. All the TVs to choose from make this a great place to catch a game or three, they do however need a new Air Hockey table. Plus they have JELLO shots, how fun. The service is top nothch/friendly. We highly recommend this Sports Bar.

This is my favorite Sports Pub EVER! Daigle's smiling face is there to greet you at the door, better known as his "cubie". lol Daigle is professional, friendly and one hell of a dedicated employee. He saved me one night from a guy who was out powering me and dragging me off by my hand. He is as sharp as a tack so you won't pull one over on him and you won't want to mess with him. If necessary he'll point you across the street to the 20 or so officers and tell you to take it up with one of them(just the stupid people tho; you kno the kind that try to get in with fake IDs or are WAY too drunk to even stand up) The atmosphere is VERY friendly. Even from as early as the first time I stepped foot in their door I felt welcomed and like one of the "family" so to speak. The bartenders are top notch and bust their butts 2 put out fast accurate service. They are so very tolerant of the drunk chics trying to pick them up...lol Nappi is the best bartender this side of San Diego, Ca!!!! Downstairs they have a zillion televisions with about every sport you could want to watch showing as well as air hockey, foosball, darts, pool and some arcade games. When they play Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond the whole place sings along. When downstairs gets full they open up the upstairs which is equip with another full bar, bigger bathrooms, a dance floor, and a more private area next to the stairs. The bouncers have their eyes on everything everywhere. A couple times I have had men try to pick me up and they wouldn't take no for an answer, that's when the bouncers stepped in like my big brothers! They are AWESOME! The only downside to the upstairs is in the summer the temperature gets quite hot. My friends and I were there the night they had a production crew filming for a show to be aired on MTV. It was crazy busy but still the same atmosphere I have grown to LUV! I'm not a big drinker but the drinks are a lil on the strong side. One way to look at it is you get your money's worth for sure. If you order an "Oatmeal Cookie" you'll have to bring your own raisins cuz they don't come with the drink...lol Nappi had never made one before but now he's a pro! I have been to Fore Play Sports Pub many many times and it's always just as good as the last time, sometimes even better! I've had a tons of good times with good company and good drinks! There is a parking garage almost directly across the street but as of recently they started closing @ midnight, which is not a problem to those of you who do not stay till the bar closes. I am, however, not one of those people. lol I stay til closing and Daigle has to kick me out!

Definitely a cool place! Air hockey, pool, etc. They definitely pour a strong drink here, though getting one at times can be a trying experience with everyone packing up to the bar. I wouldn't necessarily make this your "night out" destination; it seems like a better place to do your pregaming before moving on to another bar. It looks and feels like your typical sports bar, no great shakes.

Not gonna lie....the name of this place is what got me in the door. It's your run of the mill hick sports bar....pool tables aren't what they once were...but the drafts were cold and cheap and that's definitely a reason to go back there if I was ever in Portland again.

This is an awesome start of the night type of bar, where you meet up with friends before getting down to business. :) Best Things: the bouncer, he is hilarious and also good at his job the drinks, heavy but not too heavy pour, jello shots, pricing is relatively inexpensive the location, this is near pretty much everything cleanliness, though it is a casual, sport/dive bar feel and I wouldn't eat off the floor, there are always staff members walking around and picking up glasses etc. While this is definitely not a five star restaurant, Fore Play is a lot of fun! They offer a relaxed and party atmosphere and definitely hit it on the mark. I definitely would go back here and have never had a negative experience.

Chill sports pub with LOTS of TVs for games. Came here for the Patriots-Ravens playoff game and boy was it packed. Doorman was nice and the best thing about coming during this time was probably the free pizza and nachos which were okay but FREE.

There aren't many places left with classic bar games like bubble hockey, but they have several options here. Fun place to down a pint or two, and probably a good place to catch a game, as there were a plethora of TVs lining the walls.
