I love this place! The cupcakes are amazing! Their cake is light and fluffy and I love the fillings (lemon, raspberry, peanut butter, etc.) Some cake is just too heavy and tasteless, but the cake here is wonderful. After purchasing many cupcakes on separate occasions I ordered a birthday cake for my mother and it was beautiful. She was so thrilled, she said it was the best birthday cake she has ever had. The decorations on the cake were stunning, and it was very reasonably priced (around $30). If you haven't been here yet I highly recommend them!

Forgot to review this place a long time ago! This is my favorite place to get cupcakes in Portland. They have a good variety and if you call ahead can make others too. I've never in the past been a fan of filled cupcakes but this place does it awesomely! They make their own filling, which is what makes the difference I think. The frosting doesn't leave a residue on your tongue and, if I recall correctly, doesn't use shortening in the frosting. Highly recommended for cupcakes in portland... Although there is one other place which is just a hair better to get red velvet cupcakes in Portland. All the rest, come here without a doubt.

First off I love their cake. Their bakery items are amazing but the man behind the counter is extremely rude and I will never go back there again. Makes me sad but when I'm paying a decent amount of money for a cake I should be treated respectively. So if you don't mind being treated like crap this is the place to go. Needless to say I found a new bakery and will be getting all my cakes through them.

Thanks again for another beautiful cake. I just loved that I could place the order and be done with it without any worries. The edible overlay was perfect as were the extra design touches. Delicious too!

WOW! I'm sure the owners of Cakes Extraordinaire don't get a lot of Unicorn cake requests for 40 year old men but let me tell you this - they should! Not only was the cake beautiful, but it was incredibly delicious and the baker was extremely creative - the unicorn's horn was actually a frosted French cream horn. SO AMAZING. I seriously ate four pieces including the horn - I can't recommend Cakes Extraordinaire enough - this cake made my surprise birthday party incredibly special.

I needed to order a special cake for a special birthday and DeMillos recommended these folks. The ordering was simple, delivered without hassle and it was both GORGEOUS, colorful and festive as well as scrumptious, chocolate cake, chocolate filling, white icing. A masterpiece and my stepdaughters were fighting over the leftovers. Dealing with Steve was "a piece of cake" and a yummy and pretty one at that!!!!

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon to pick up some cupcakes -- no order placed, no heads up that I was coming. Got a great variety in my 6 cupcakes (@2.50 ea). Took them to a friends house for dinner and everyone was surprised by the cream inside and there were raves all around. If I was in the area again, I'd stop in for them. WE had the orange, carrot, peanut butter/chocolate, vanilla and chocolate and all were good!

These cupcakes in Portland. We've been going here weekly for cupcakes and have found that while the owners/staff were originally a bit awkward at the whole interacting with people thing they have overcome that and are really really nice to us when we come in. Favorite is the lemon with lemon curd filling and white icing, but got adventurous last week and had the almond with strawberry filling. Can't wait to have the need to order a cake from here.
