Village Grill is a new place in Damarsicotta, and since new places in Damariscotta often don't last more than one season I figured I had to give it a try while it was around. I tried their steak sandwich special, but got it with no cheese or peppers. Exactly how I get my Philly Cheesesteak (cheesless for me) sandwiches in Philly. The service at the counter was friendly and seating was plentiful, though I chose to eat in my car to take advantage of air conditioning. The sandwich was a value at around $6 and I appreciated their acceptance of credit cards. It's not as common as you'd think up here "in the sticks." The sandwich was of an average quality but was arguably too greasy for many, including myself. But the most important thing is overall taste and it definitely had that going for it. I'm planning to try Village Grill once more during this trip to Maine, likely to try their brisket, which seems like it could be fantastic or craptastic, but I'm going to have to give it a try to find out. I'll update this review after I get a chance to try the brisket.

We were done swimming and enjoying the day and weren't in the mood to cook dinner. So we went to check out the Village Grill and were pleasantly surprised. The pulled pork dinner was tender and moist with a great sweet sauce (could have used a little more, but that's okay). We also had a veggie burger that was delicious and looked homemade. The folks running the truck were friendly and it was pretty busy when we were there (on a Thursday night).

I'm giving it 3 stars because of the ultra slow service. But the veggie burger was delicious, and my friend ordered the clam roll which he loved. Only go if you have time to kill!

Great for takeout BBQ or lots of picnic tables for some awesome fried seafood and fresh cut fries. Can't go wrong. Chef owned and operated also. A class act food truck setup. Thanks for the great grub!

Best take out in the area! The seafood is cooked to perfection and my favorite is the haddock sandwich. Fresh and moist and DELICIOUS! Steak sub with peppers and onions is awesome. Great specials every day. Plenty of outside seating and beautiful landscaping add to the experience.
