I've only been waiting for this to happen ever since I moved back to Maine. When I was a kid, I lived in Long Island. We had amazing pizza there. If you've had it you know what I mean. If you haven't, you probably think pizza is pizza anyway. Flipside serves up huge slices. Piles toppings to the roof. And with the new oven, SUPER FAST! Honestly, if they had beer, I'd become part of the decor. If you haven't had it ,you need to. If you tried it when they opened but haven't been back, you need to go in again.

I've had pizza all over New York and in terms of freshness, variety and flavor there is no better than Flipside. It seems inexplicable but this small shop could only exist in Maine, where delicious ingredients and water are bountiful. I'll miss it dearly when I graduate.

FINALLY! Brunswick actually has good pizza! The toppings are a bit rustic and it's a tad more expensive than say Domino's, but you definitely get what you pay for. It ranks up there with Ottos in Portland as some of my favorite pizza.

Delicious pizza, the best in Brunswick. Scarlett Begonia's pizza is nearly as good but the honor of best goes here. True New York style, crust is very thin but extremely chewy. The pepperoni are kind of smokey tasting. The combination is amazing. Beverages are limited. No beer and the sofas are limited to limited to noname natural ones.

Excited to try this new pizza place, we called on our way to Harpswell at 5:30 on Friday to order a pie to go. Two times got an answer machine and finally a person to take our order. Were told it would take 30 -45 min for the pizza! Really!!?? Ordered the med. Margherita and was told it had no sauce, again Really?? Having spent much time in Italy this is nuts, but figured we would try it. Arrived at Flipside about 20 min later. Our pizza had not even been made yet, we were told another 30 min so I asked for a small amount of sauce. Big drag waiting, lots of folks waiting. Walked dogs, went back and got pizza. The med is more like a small. and not crisp. Crust not as thin as others have said. Worst though was the sweetness and oiliness of the tomatoes. They were not fresh roasted with the pizza but must have been done ahead in oil. Cloyingly sweet and sauce was also sweet. YUCK! Minimal mozzarella, soft crust and so little basil it was why bother! For $19 or even $10 it was terrible pizza. Not worth the wait or the money or the hype. Also, why did the crust have weird marks on the bottom like it was made ahead?? I say again why bother, buy some dough at Hannafords and some fresh ingredients and make your own! Real disapointment. Get it together guys for better taste, more value and less wait! Staff also were not very friendly: obviously harried, over worked and poorly trained to deal with high demand.

Great pizza, whether you want a whole pie or just a slice be sure to drop by Flipside.

Hands-down the best pizza in Brunswick. It even tops The Cabin in Bath. We went there yesterday, and we ordered two pizzas by the slice: one with sweet potatoes, beets, scallions, and bleu cheese, the other with chorizo, jalapenos, and roasted tomatoes. While the toppings were excellent, the best part was the crust (something other local places haven't quite mastered). It is a thinner crust, but it is also very sturdy and doesn't give in under the toppings. There are very few negatives, but I will make a few comments. It's not an everyday pizza parlor. The toppings range a little more on the gourmet. Don't expect ground beef, ham, etc. Instead, in addition to pepperoni, italian sausage, and smoked chicken, they have maine shrimp, clams, and chorizo. Also, seating is fairly limited, and they only had two people working when we were there. Nonetheless, it is an excellent new restaurant, and I expect to return frequently.

Excellent pizza! Delicious crust and plenty of local, organic veggies and meats to choose from. Definitely some of the best pizza I've had. I'd eat it more often but they don't deliver and I'm lazy.

REALLY GOOD PIZZA BY THE SLICE! Usually you have to compromise - good pizza, or fast pizza. Not here! When I visited Flipside, they offered a couple of choices of usual, kid-friendly pizza (cheese and pepperoni) and then two far more interesting options with chorizo and kale and a Mediterranean like veggie pizza with olives and feta. I got the interesting slices, my husband got the standards, all were excellent. They let you select which slice of the flavor you wanted, which was nice. The slices were delivered to our window bar seats piping hot. Flipside offers a small selection of LOCAL sodas, so if you really need a Coke you'll be disappointed. Try the Lemon Sting, yum! This is a place to try some unique flavors, not the same old. Enjoy!

I really wanted to like this place, but I was very disappointed. To start off our order got messed up and we ended up waiting over an hour to get our pizza. When we finally got it it was badly burnt and parts of the pizza were inedible! It was pretty pricey too, and the employees had a bit of an attitude. No one was apologetic for the mess up and we weren't the only customers there who were upset. I get that you're busy, but how hard is it to say "I'm sorry." ? One last thing..... They got shut down briefly a couple months ago by Food and Safety administration because of "poor kitchen standards" which could mean anything from someone not wearing a hair net, expired/spoiled food, or a dirty kitchen! Sorry, I really love to support local businesses but I was appalled by how bad this place was.

I really liked the local/organic flair to this place but I was underwhelmed with the pizza itself. We ordered a spinach pizza and I was hoping for something a little more substantial than a half-hearted sprinkle of green flakes. Taste was good but nothing extraordinary for the price. If I ordered again I'd go for a specialty pizza--they seemed creative and promising .

Ate here the other night with my husband and son. The seating area is tiny so this is probably more of a grab and go kind of place. We ate in because there was no one there when we arrived. The menu is just pizza and drinks. No salad. No appetizers. Just pizza. Bold move that seems like it's working for them for the most part. This seems to be a college hang out which makes sense since the prices are inexpensive and it's serves organic and local ingredients. The pizza is good. Amazing? No, but it's a good option for Brunswick.

I ordered a pizza for pick up and as I went to get it I received the worst customer service I think I have ever experienced while living in brunswick. The man at the register had nothing nice to say, which I can handle, people have bad days or even bad personalities. What really got to me was when he asked for my name for my order he proceeded to interrupt me and stuck his finger in the air with no "I apologize", or even "can you hold on for one second". Although the food was good, I would prefer to spend my time and money at the cabin. I just assumed for the price the experience would be somewhat decent.

My wife and I are both from New York City. We've been eating pizza outside of NYC for 20 years each and have been consistently disappointed. I've been here before and have been telling my wife she needs to try flipside because it's awesome. Today was the day. Her first comment after a bite was "not bad", but then upon completing her pizza she stated,"best pizza I've ever had outside of NYC". Enough said.

I like that it is all fresh and organic which justifies the cost. However, it was nothing special as far as taste. I was expecting it to be fantastic but my taste buds just found it so-so. It wasn't terrible by any means but it could be better. I don't think I would go back. There is not a lot of seating so you want to take it to go.

Local. Flavorful. Creative. If you're a pizza traditionalist, stick to a slice of cheese or pepperoni. But if you consider pizza-eating an adventure, try any of their other combinations. Yesterday it was braised veggies and ancho chili bbq sauce. Or smoked chicken and spinach. Or sharp cheddar and jalapeño. Seriously great slices from serious pizza artists.

Maine isn't exactly known for great pizza, but Flipside is pretty great. Local, organic produce and cheeses, a great crust and yummy organic sodas. They have creative specials!

Pretty decent pizza spot in Brunswick. Flipside uses organic ingredients from local sources. They offer no "specialty pizzas" (i.e. Hawaiian, margherita, etc.) but there are tons of veggie/meat toppings to choose from so you essentially create your own pizza. We placed our order for pick-up and our 2 cheese pizzas + 1 roasted red pepper/onion pizza were ready when we arrived at Flipside. After a 7-minute car ride, we were ready to chow down but unfortunately the pizza was cold and we had to heat them up in the oven. Maybe we arrived a little late to pick up our pizzas so they turned cold but thank goodness pizza heats up beautifully in the oven. Pizza was pretty tasty and not too greasy but I personally would have preferred a thinner crust. I really admire that they source their ingredients locally. There's a small seating area within Flipside. As another reviewer stated, Maine isn't exactly known for great pizza but Flipside is a solid choice if you need a pizza fix in Brunswick.

They've really dropped the ball. They used to have good pizza, but it looks like they've let their quality go way down. Nothing worse than getting a pizza with skimpy toppings and bare patches - seriously, barely even sauce and finding the cheese was a search and rescue mission. Thought it might just be a bad night, so tried it again a week later, and nope. Just a huge pizza dough with few toppings and even less cheese, and a big ole 2 inch bare crust. Not giving them a third chance - will make our own at home.
