After a long day on the road I finally got checked in my hotel fior the night. Didn't feel like leaving to go for some dinner, so I grabbed the stack of menus at the front desk - I felt like it might be a pizza night. As a frequent traveller on business, I like to stay away from the usual chain offerings and like to seek out the locally-owned joints. Louis Pizza in Biddeford hit a home run with me. From a very pleasant voice answering the phone (I learned her name is Jasmine - very friendly voice and make me feel welcome even if I was doing takeout), to friendly delivery guy - I was impressed with the service. Even better was the pizza!!! Fresh dough not too thick, nor too thin - the toppings were just what I asked for, even my request for "light sauce". As I answered the door for delivery, he said, "wow, this pizza does look good" and he was right!. It tasted as good as it looked. Highly recommend Louis Pizza in Biddeford.

I've seen it spelled Loui's and Louis. I don't know which is right but I like their pizza. They're generous with the toppings, the sauce and cheese are good, and the crust okay. I haven't talked to anybody who doesn't like it and I can see why. The inside has low ceilings, isn't fancy, and is hot because of all the pizza ovens. That makes it a little claustrophobic in the summer but I bet it feels cozy in the winter. I could see this becoming our regular pizza place & I'll let you know how that turns out.

The actual restaurant doesn't look so hot on the inside, the food is pretty good, portions are good sizes, but they always mess my orders up. I'm allergic to mushrooms (and regardless, they're disgusting) and when I order my steak bomb I ask for it without, then have them repeat the order back to me, "steak bomb no mushrooms." I always get the food delivered, and the delivery person is obviously gone by the time you start opening your food up, several times I've sadly had to give my sandwich away because it is impregnated with mushrooms... So disappointing. That's why I haven't eaten their food in quite some time. I'll stick with people that actually listen.

I went a couple years completely ignoring the fact that this place is in town because of a couple bad experiences. The first one was three or four years ago. I was in the dining room and the owner got a delivery order for somewhere in Saco and he got mad about it. He was complaining about how much money he loses delivering out there. I understand that it was probably a viable concern for him, but really, half of Saco is closer to his store than some of the outer parts of Biddeford, and he shouldn't have been complaining where diners could hear him. (I THINK that is where the delivery fee comes from now.) It rubbed me the wrong way so I stopped going in. The second time was when my delivery got messed up and I called them. He told me that he couldn't fix it because no one was here to verify that mistakes were made. THAT one left a really bad impression so I completely wrote the place off. My roommate said something about them recently and it got me to give them a second try. So far I'm loving it. I've had a number of different things and they've all been good. Their portions are big and they use a good quality bread. pretty much everywhere else in the area just uses glorified hot dog rolls, so that stands out. They have really good chicken tenders which work really well for the subs that they come in, and their prices are good. Everyone I've talked to in the last month or so has been really polite, even the owner who I didn't like before talked to me a little bit when I stopped in last week. It was later and he was cleaning up, but he was cool. Maybe I just got unlucky in the past, or the place has changed a bit, but it's been good enough that those previous bad experiences have been redeemed.

Best pizza in all of Biddeford/Saco area, hands-down. Unbelievably good pizza, especially their equivalent of a "Meat Lovers" pizza. We used to order for delivery from various chains around town until a buddy of mine turned me on to this place - and now we don't order from anywhere else. Prices are on the high side, but it's a situation where you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay $5 more and have something that tastes fresh and not stamped out like the chains do... YUM!!

So as my visit in ME this week continues I decided to try this place for a late night pizza, giving the seafood a break for a day. I am glad I went here. It was nearing closing time when I arrived and the fella behind the counter said all I could get was pizza - not in a mean way, but in a matter of fact/nice way. Perfect. I ordered a small everything pizza and asked if he could toss some hot peppers on it (should have asked because he put jalapenos on it -not a problem - but I paid for it the next day, lol), and cook it well done. Pizza came out perfect with an abundance of toppings and peppers. I could not wait to get home and try it. The crust had a slight garlic/sweet taste that was great. Very much not like big chain pizza. I am actually considering getting one for the drive home - it is that good. Good staff, good food, low prices. Sold. Come try them. You will be pleased you did.

I've been going to Loui's religiously every Tuesday for months now. Here's why: 1) Loui's has small cheese pizza's for $2.60 on Tuesdays 2) They are fast and the pizza is great. 3) They accept cash only (Dave Ramsey fans will understand) Loui's also has lots of other food. Hot sandwiches, fried foods galore (a co-worker buys all her Super Bowl apps here every year and raves about the fried mushrooms), and more. Since I come Tuesdays to grab my ritual "small cheese well-done", I can't personally review the rest of the food just yet. However, I can say that they are always friendly, fast and yummy. And who can argue with that price? (Historical Fact: The small cheese on Tuesdays was $2.50 until just recently, but sky-rocketing propane costs forced them to raise the price by a dime.)
