The veggie breakfast sandwich on a jalapeño-cheddar bagel? Sexy shudder. The bagels are enormous, crunchy on the outside, doughy on the inside, the abundant amount cheese is perfectly baked into it, and it's spicy in the exact way you would hope or expect it to be. The veggies (avocado, tomato, cucumber, onions, and sprouts) are fresh, the cream cheese deliciously cold, and the "special sauce" they use? I would very much like to rub it all over my body to absorb it's deliciousness in every pore I have. THAT'S how good it is. But... while I hemmed and hawed between a three and a four star review, I settled on a three for a couple of reasons: 1) While the jalapeño-cheddar is OUTSTANDING, I would say that I have just as often left here empty-handed as I have with food. They often run out of bagels, which makes me wonder if they aren't making enough? And, when I've tried to call in the past to inquire whether or not they'd hold a bagel for me, they've rudely told me that's not something they could do; that I just needed to show up earlier if I wanted one (they opened at 7am, I would get there at 9am, and they'd already be out). Segue... 2) The customer service here is REALLY hit or miss. I've had some exceptional experiences where folks have gone above and beyond what they've needed to do make me happy. But just as often, I've had some of the all-time WORST customer service here, too. Here's my favorite example: My boyfriend and I went in for the veggie breakfast sandwiches one day when it wasn't very busy. He ordered his without onions, I ordered mine without onions and sprouts. The girl taking our order sighed, rolled her eyes, and said, "Yeah, two sandwiches, no onions, no tomatoes." So, I politely corrected her, "ONE sandwich has no onions and no sprouts." She glared at me, then stormed away to make our sandwiches, loading them both with sprouts. My boyfriend - rightfully concerned that our order was being fubar'd - called after her, "Excuse me? Sorry, but one of those bagels has no sprouts, right?" The girl whipped around and angrily said, "That's NOT what you said." We patiently told her that twice we had asked her for no onions on both, no sprouts on one. So, while forcefully scraping off the sprouts on one, she hollered at us: "THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU SAID. BUT THAT'S FINE." Que: other customers now staring at us. The girl finished making my boyfriend's, and then - before making mine - looked up disdainfully and said, "So, you just want tomatoes on this bagel?" I responded, "No, I'd like the avocados, cucumbers, AND tomatoes. No ONIONS." She sighed again, "I don't understand, so you want JUST avocado on this?!" Me: "No, I'd like whatever's on a veggie breakfast sandwich, but with NO onions and NO sprouts." This time, embarrassingly loudly, she yelled, "I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU WANT, MA'AM. You want JUST cucumbers?!" One last time, I explained to her, "No. I'd like the veggie breakfast sandwich that's on your menu - the avocados, the tomatoes, the cucumbers, the cream cheese, and the special sauce. I would like NO onions. I would like NO sprouts. Just the rest of the veggies." In the end? My bagel had cream cheese, special sauce, sprouts on half, and a single piece of a cucumber the size of a fifty cent piece. Maybe she was just having a bad day, right? I'd like to think that was the case, but unfortunately this was not a one-time experience. We frequently would have to prompt employees to make our bagels (because they would forget, start talking to one another, or move on to the next customer) or babysit them as they began building them however they wanted (and not how we asked). Situations like this happened often, and not just to me. I used to overhear exchanges similar with customers in front of me. How awkward, right? We even tried talking to the manager on multiple occasions... interestingly enough, time and time again they were never available to address our concerns. In the end, I just sorta stopped going to Heidi's altogether because I never knew if I was actually going to get a bagel or not, if I was going to be treated with respect or not. When it's good, it's good here! And when it's bad... why bother? And since they're never entirely consistently good or consistently bad, I just decided I couldn't risk coming here anymore. I mean, don't get me wrong - I like a good gamble from time to time, but not first thing in the morning!

Great sandwiches with a good deli menu. Free WiFi and the service is great. Clearly the management sets a standard of friendly service that would be considered above and beyond at most places because I have never been in with the staff going out of their way to be friendly and cheerful

There aren't too many places you can order a liverwurst sandwich. Good liverwurst too. The sandwiches are very ample. They make their own bread. The pumpernickel isn't bad. But it could be better. Sorry I'm a bread snob, so hence the four stars. Service is great and staff are friendly . The line usually goes fast.

Every time I go here, I end up getting the Reuben and every time it is delicious! The prices are at a premium fast food level but worth it for the food quality. However, I wish the portions were a little bigger. The menu is has a wide array of options for a deli including Italian subs and different melts and other cold cuts. Definitely recommended for lunch!

I really love sandwiches. I also travel a lot. With that being said I eat a lot of sandwiches in many different places. At this place I ate once and I was not impressed.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in the Lewiston-Auburn area. 1. The sandwiches are unique and incredibly tasty (the bread is so fresh and is not like any other bread I have tasted). 2. The staff are personable, funny, and enjoyable to talk with (plus they make the food at the speed of light...well...close enough). 3. The restaurant feels clean and sanitized. 4. And, the environment is relaxing - you can choose to sit outside on the patio or at a booth inside (where there are a lot of big open windows).

Gave Heidi's a second chance. Still disappointing. Hot corned beef sandwich might as well be super market deli meat. Crunchy uncooked potatoes in potato salad. Good bread.

I am SO in love with this deli! The price is insanely low (as low as you'd get at any fast-food or Subway restaurant), but the quality is top-notch. I had the eggplant parmesan sandwich, which was HUGE and delicious. The restaurant has an open space setup and is bright and clean. I will definitely be a repeat customer!
