We just ate on the patio at the Green Turtle in Westminster. The tables need a good washing. The waitress brought our food and did not ask if everything was all right or if we wanted anything else. She did not come back to offer drink refills or anything. It was not crowded. She was just a poor excuse for a waitress. People came from inside restaurant to smoke on the patio. When we got the check I asked if smoking was permitted in eating area of restaurant patio. She said "yes, that is why people come out here." There were no ash trays or signs to indicate it was a smoking area. The cheeseburger that I ordered was cold on arrival. The place is a dump.

Had their pretzels and the crabby melt sandwich with sweet potato fries. Excellent and the service was good too

Sadly disappointed, again. Wings are horrible. Food overall is below grade. And the service is mediocre at best. Never get anything with 'crab', it's not Maryland/real crab meat.

We've been coming here since they opened a few years ago. We were excited that in this beer wasteland of Carroll County a place finally opened that offered some (limited but at the time somewhat decent) beer selection. As I understand the story, when they first opened, they were not a "company" store and therefore had some opportunities to be somewhat creative with there offerings and even their events (used to have Ravens players here each week etc). Anyway, that didn't last and they were taken over by corporate and lost their identity as far as I'm concerned. We stopped coming here for well over a year and recent "mug party" promotions drew us back. But, it is what it is. A local place that has an extremely limited decent beer selection and pretty good bar food. It some times is a little too family friendly (are you a bar restaurant or McDonald's). But the food is good and if you're in the Westminster area and want a good quick meal I'd go there.

I fiancé and I are both Maryland Natives and thought that this would be a good choice and location to meet some friends from PA while in town. It was HORRIBLE! Our service experience was one of the worse I've ever received. Our server never introduced herself, didn't smile until she dropped of the check, messed up on our drink orders multiple times, failed to take our one friends order (we were only a table of 5), never checked back, took 15 minutes to refill after we had to ask -and than the finale, hovered over the table once she presented the check until we placed the card. That was probably the longest she was ever even at the table, and of course after she ran the card and came to drop back off was the only time she smiled. Food was also mediocre, especially in comparison to other locations. Aside from the service and food, it was an all day hapy hour and they werent too busy. Our server told us on the second wrong drink that we had that there was a new bartender. What simple minded individual would have a new Bartender who cant make the simple rail drink or open the right beer the day they have an all day happy hour. Can't imagine the chaos that would've existed had there been a lot of customers. Will not be returning here.

I'm really sorry to report that this usually reliable franchise has gone downhill. Enough that I want the management to know they have work to do! There are lots of choices for franchise food here in town, so to pay $76 for dried up nachos, 4 very mediocre sandwiches and 4 beers was astounding. The tab on my 22 ounce Blue Moon was $7.50, which if I'd known in advance, I would have had the Yuengling. Our server was prompt, cheerful, and helpful, and she earned the tip that took our total to $92, but that's a hefty price for a fish sandwich (beer battered and it used to come on a nice, big roll that has morphed into a smallish Kaiser), a crabby melt (grilled cheese with crab), a grilled chicken Caesar wrap (miserably dry with no dressing at all), and my daughter's chicken sandwich. Opting for the fries option at a buck apiece added to the check. Green Turtle management, heed: Get it together in the kitchen or that array of vacant tables last night may be a portent of things to come.

Each Greene Turtle seems to have their own style and ambiance. This is very open with the bar as the dominating feature. I really like the "jumbotron" over the bar, the multitude of flat screen TVs and the mini-flat screens at each table area. You can catch any game - no fighting over the TV. The food is your basic bar food with the same offerings at the other Green Turtle bars. I have to say, this restaurant turns food out quickly. It's great if you are hungry. We ordered the Philly Cheese Steak and the Chicken Cheese Steak. The Philly Cheese Steak was decent, but the Chicken Cheese Steak had nice chunks of chicken that were perfectly cooked. They do chicken right! We liked the drink specials - $2.25 for 22 oz Miller Lite. We had a great server that was attentive, friendly and efficient. She made sure we had drinks and checked back on us frequently. I was impressed especially with our group of 8 and managing her other tables for a night of trivia.

My first time here and I do believe I would go back. We went last night, Sunday, at 7ish... The place was almost empty except for a few Steeler and Redskin fans. I'm not sure if this is the norm, but it was a raven bye week. I ordered sweet potatoes fries (so good, and the dipping sauce was amazing) and the pecan apple salad. (I absolutely loved this salad, it was delicious) the carnivore ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and his exact words are "it tasted charbroiled... It was charbroiled yumminess" He's a microbrew dude, so this was not a good beer night for him. He rated their beer a 3. He would ask for a beer and our waitress would keep offering bud light instead. I'm not sure why I knocked off a star... It could be it took a long time to get our food (40 mins) and there was no one there really. It could be the steeler fans screaming and hitting the tables... But maybe that's just the raven fan in me that was annoyed :)

Fries were delish, service was pleasant but my turkey burger was disgusting. Im not sure if it was real turkey...it tasted bizarrely sweet and was rubbery and obviously frozen for quite some time. i don't recommend this place.

First off, the server and manager were very nice, especially the server. However, I do have a tip for the manager - when I'm complaining, you'd do best to listen and say, "I hear you. Here is my solution, ::xxxxx::. Does this solution alleviate any of the problem for you?". You did a good job of listening, but you tried to explain why the problem existed and because of that, just kind of sounded silly. So, I haven't yet told the Yelp community what the problem was...The problem was the price of the crab cake dish. $25 for a tiny bit of crab and a handful of fries. I felt like I paid $10 for the fries and therefore totally ripped off. The first word out of my mouth when the plate came was, "Outrageous!". I literally blurted it out! I couldn't believe my own reaction; shocked by my reaction and by the tiny bit of food they just gave me for $25. The ahi tuna that my father had was quite good, if not a little over spiced. Despite this, I have to give the place a 1 star rating. I felt so ripped off, I'm still complaining about it hours later. I guess its not surprising that my first review on Yelp is a complaint. I'm not one to complain to a manager, let alone write a bad review on Yelp; this is totally out of character for me. But, I felt robbed!

Our family was just at this location 15 minutes ago. We walked in and there was no one to seat us. We stood in full view of the packed bar and were stared at by patrons for 5 minutes with no staff in sight. Disgusted, we left and headed to Buffalo Wild Wings where we were greeted and seated immediately. Unless you want to go to the bar, skip this place on weekend nights. Good isn't terribly good anyway!

2/3 times coming here has been a disaster. I've been insulted by the staff and the "owner." Food is below average bar food at best. Avoid this place and go somewhere where the staff and owners will value you a customer and you'll get some half-way decent food.

Chilly day in Westminster with a chilly reception from the Green Turtle General Manager. We were seated in a booth next to the windows, finishing our meal and thinking about dessert. The GM comes by and proceeds to raise the shades on every window on the wall. Immediate temp change and we could feel the cold draft. Another booth behind us quickly commented to the GM about the cold....his response...."you'll get used to it." In appropriate tone and response. No dessert....we packed up, paid the bill and left. Food was good as was the service. Maybe Steve and the OC turtle management team should pay a visit to this franchise GM.

Best wings on the planet! The friday Band tour coming back after the summer break is a great reason to start at happy hour and stay until they close!

Caution: these comments are for the Mt. Airy Green Turtle...... No Yelp page for Mt. Airy Green Turtle, so I'm posting here. Hostess luke warm, Server very pleasant. The fries were pretty good. That's where the pleasantries end. Jerk Chicken Mango salad contained no mango.... what they did plate was romaine lettuce, disgusting transluscent canned pineapple and canned manderan oranges, with a couple of pea sized crumbs of diced cucumber. The chicken was dry & the dressing was wattery and tasteless. My 11 yr old sent popcorn shrimp back to the kitchen. You know it's bad when an 11 yr old sends back one of their favorite foods because the preparation was terrible: previously frozen and nearly burnt, dark chocolate brown, greasy little bombs. OK, so your a beer, burger, wings and fries place. I get that now. But if that's all you're going to do, give it all your best and don't put crap on your menu that rarely sells & won't get a repeat order. Pare down the menu and offer only those dishes are actually good. I would have ordered a burger if I'd know that I'd receive the worst salad I've ever been served. And I eat a lot of salads. I didn't send it back or ask for the manager because we were on our way to a sports event and we'd already sent back the shrimp. I just picked at it, paid and ran. Don't think I'll ever go back.... unless a Terps team is in the National Championship and I have a craving for beer (all unlikely events:(

I will start off saying that the front of the house was very understaffed, therefore I can only imagine what the back of the house looked like, but I cant understand being so understaffed on a holiday. I also cant understand charging 12.49 for a crab dip and then charging another .99 for a little more bread. Plenty of other restaurants will do this for free. I had a salad for dinner and was afraid to ask for a little more dressing for fear of being robbed for another dollar. Also when people are dining with two young children, 40 minutes from the time we order until we revieved our entrees is unsatisfactory. Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed and it took forever to get our check. Granted the only reason they were so busy was because people werent willing to wait at the restaurants offering deals for veterans day. The only reason we went there was because we always joke that we know we can go to the greene turtle and get seated right away, and sure enough we did. While there was nothing wrong with our food, its definitley overpriced. This place has gone waaaaayyyy downhill and its not hard to see why

Excellent crab soup. Very suprised as it is one of the better ones that I've tasted. Being from Md we are discriminating when it comes to crab soup. The atmosphere is good. It does get a bit loud at times. All in all good food and good times.

We shared crab dip, thai shrim, onion soup, and a burger. All were great. It has a similar feel to Hard Rock Cafe or Red Robin. It was a bit too noisy for my tastes, but I still had a good time.

If you like a bar that is so crowded at night you can't get to the bathroom, good but not great food, and waiting 20 minutes to get a beer unless you are a woman, this bar is for you.

So I figured I'd write an update. Not long after the first review, my trivia team and I found "greener" pastures for our trivia fix at a local place in Westminster. Unfortunately, that local family pub shut down about 3 months ago leaving us high and dry for a place to play trivia. We tried a couple other places outside of Westminster but they were rather far comparatively and equally as expensive and only marginally better than the Turtle. So update - I'm now fully confident that if a tasty food can be ill prepared or otherwise made unappetizing, Greene Turtle will find a way to do it. Their burgers are flavored only by the char from the broiler. Their flatbread pizza was a glop of congealed cheese and looked like the toppings were shot out of a cannon at the dough. The wings remain drier than a pothead's mouth in the desert. And mozzarella crescents?! Simply a fancy way to give you less and charge you more. I've resorted to eating prior to coming to the Turtle or stopping by Wawa on the way home. Honestly, not one thing that've had despite trying multiple things on the menu has been better than mediocre. How this place survives as a chain boggles my mind. The only thing that gives this place more than 1 star is that their craft beer selections has improved greatly. Wednesday night offers $2 off all craft and premium pints so for a relatively reasonable cost I can drink Dogfish 60 minute, Loose Cannon IPA, Sam Seasonal, Blue Moon and various other tasty beers that many of the chains in Westminster don't provide. The only other thing that keeps me coming back is Amanda the bartender who works on Wednesday nights. Best server I've had at the Turtle by far. She's friendly, timely and knows how to take care of customers. Only self loathing and trivia keep me coming back here. It's too late for me but save yourself! Run, run away!

So many things wrong with this place! The restaurant had maybe 3 other tables during lunch on a weekday. We had a medium sized group. Once we ordered we didn't see our waiter until an hour later when our food finally came out. It had clearly been sitting under the food lamps with hot lettuce in the salads and gross food. 45 minutes in a member of our group went to find a manager but couldn't find any staff. They advertise a quick lunch menu. False advertisement. Save yourself the trip for the overpriced food and beyond dismal service.
