A friend highly recommended VCP to me a few weeks back. Finally had a chance to try it on the way back from a meeting in B'more. The restaurant was not busy; service was prompt and the waitress was friendly: a good start. I ordered he hamburger "your way" and fries special. Burger was ok, but not great. Fries were very good, though, so all was not lost. Other reviewers have commented on what they considered high prices. I thought the price for my meal was decent. But VCP was not the super-duper place my friend made it out to be. Bottom line: if I'm in the area and hungry, I will stop in again - but I won't drive out of my way.

Way too pricy for the marginal food served here. Wife called ahead for cartoon and I couldn't believe the $$ and we eat out often. And who makes a Caesar salad with olives and tomatoes anyway?

Food was very good prior (keyword was) when the establishment was under different ownership and management, but since the changeover from the J&P name to VCP that's no longer true.

Best NY style pizza in Maryland! And don't get me started on the crispy delicious fried pickles. Mmmmmmm!

Great takeout place, with a good selection of beer and wine to boot. Their pizza and sandwiches are usually very good and more fulfilling than your average carry out. They are sometimes a little slow but nothing outrageous - as in they'll tell you 15 minutes on the phone and it might take an extra 5 or 10 tops, but better to wait a little for hot food than have it come out too quick and be cold.

We stopped here on our way to Charles Town, WV to go to Hollywood casino to have dinner at the Skyline restaurant. It was close to noon on a Saturday. The place had only a few customers and we were seated right away. I noticed on the menu that their prices are a bit on the high side. This restaurant used to be named differently, but I noticed that my credit card charge was the old name of the restaurant, so must be a corporate. Anyway, the food is good and waitstaff attentive. I would recommend to friends and good place to meet friends.

Ordered a carry out order and the man on the phone was very cooperative and gave me a reasonable time for me to pick up my order which was spot on. I only ordered two items and my bill was $14.82! I got a small pepperoni and bacon Stromboli which was good, the dough was fresh and cheese melted properly with fresh bacon and pepperoni, it could've fed 2; marinara on the side was pretty good. The only con when you took a bite grease came out, but that's like most Stromboli's I suppose. The other item I got was a side of fries and that was $4.00? No way fries should ever be $4.00, not to mention they were cold?! Truffle fries at my work aren't even that much.. Looking at some other menu items while I was waiting I saw that their crab dip was $13.50, and a steak n' cheese with no fries is $10.. The food was decent, but it seems their prices are a little high and I believe it's because they're a monopoly in taylorsville so they take advantage of that. I might stop in again to get another Stromboli bc I did enjoy that.

YUM! My boyfriend and I have enjoyed the food from this place for years. The blush sauce (order it with pasta or to dip your breadsticks in), wings, and crab cakes are all INCREDIBLE! They also have great pizza, steaks, and wraps. The carry out section has a great variety of wine and beers and the bar has amazing cocktails! They come up with some really creative drinks and know their stuff. The service there is also out of this world!

I had the seafood club wrap, it's shrimp salad and crab cake and bacon. The carry out menu was somewhat over priced. I ended up paying 15 for a wrap with fries The shrimp salad part of it was good but the crab cake had a strange taste. The place was ok but not the best

We have been riding our motorcycles by this place for a while and decided to check it out. Overall, we were very happy. My wife asked if they were good at making a medium burger as she hates it overdone, and was assured they do. Hers came out more well done, but she was ok with it. The service was slow, but there was a big party in front of us and that was causing it and it wasn't a big deal. The rest of our food was great and overall we were happy. We will definitely be going back.

We didn't opt for pizza this time which was a mistake. The Old Bay wings were only lightly dusted and could have used more seasoning, the hot wings were good standard buffalo style. The fries with cheese and bacon were soggy

Had the Hummus plate special to start. Pretty tasty hummus and fresh vegetables and warm fresh pita. Followed by a good pizza. Good sauce and toppings. Bread was good under the toppings but seemed a little bland on the crust. Would still go again. Very friendly staff.

Of all of the j&p restaurants in the area, this is the most inconsistent though the closest to my house. We go to the one in Mt. Airy because we know that the food will be good every time. The prices are fairly high as well.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
