Great lunch! Very fresh chicken salad over fresh greens. Great service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

There are about 5 places that are private or family owned (why review a chain?!) that I really enjoy in Westminster, and this is one of them. Truly a cafe, with breakfast and lunch, I spend so much time not visiting because of my conflicting schedule and the cafe's early afternoon closing, but it is lovely whenever I do get the chance. I was even given a complimentary cupcake once!! That alone deserves 5 stars. I paid it forward by letting my husband have 1 of the then 2 cupcakes. 8-) By the way, best cupcakes in town, and their sandwiches are also stellar. The one star is removed because my husband went to get us sandwiches around 2 pm and they were locked up early. Not very good business practice, the hours are already short enough! Still, the food is decent, so I can't be too mad. Update: ok but seriously, the turkey BLT sandwich is so phenomenal that I change my rating back to 5 stars.

I've been a long time patron of the J Cafe and I have to admit that I'm going to have to stop coming in. The food and atmosphere has completely changed. The cupcakes used to have a good flavor to them, but recently the frosting has been completely off. Also, they've been selling these "decadent" cupcakes which are really not decadent...it just seems like they filled the middle with more icing. It's too much and completely gross. The regular food (I'm usually in for lunch) is still really good. They have the best Maryland Crab soup around. The breakfast is always good too. However, when it comes to the atmosphere there it seems as though the manager (I am assuming it is the manager) cannot stop yelling and chiding the other employees, or yelling for her mother hysterically. She is loud and disruptive and rude to customers. I really loved the J Cafe, but I am fed up!

I have been to J Cafe on many occasions for breakfast and lunch. I have enjoyed all of the food that I have eaten. I especially love the soups, quiche of the day, and cupcakes. J Cafe is cozy and inviting. Whether I was there dining with my family or with a large group of my friends, I have always found the wait staff to be prompt and friendly. I highly recommend J Cafe to anyone who is looking for a casual, family-friendly place to enjoy a nice meal.

I was really pleased with my first trip here. We were there around 11 on a Saturday and I was surprised it was not crowded at all. Has word not gotten around enough about this place? The restaurant is nicely appointed, service was friendly and efficient, the food was delicious, and prices were good. I had one of the day's specials, a jalapeno breakfast panini. Husband had the western omelette and kid had a breakfast quesadilla. All was great and we'll be back.

12/02/12 The boyfriend and I decided to give this place a shot and I'm giving 3 stars for now until I get to come back for the breakfast menu. Our waitress was very nice and I asked for hot tea and wasn't expecting a wooden cigar box to appear. I got a tasty tuna melt (but with no cheese, dairy hates me) on toast with some chips and a pickle. The tuna was great, it had no mayo but a artichoke tapenade with lots of herbs on top of a fresh tomato. Pretty good for a tuna sammich! My boyfriend got the shrimp salad sandwich and enjoyed it. He ordered a sweet potato cupcake and was loving it. I hope they make vegan cupcake offerings one day (I'm no vegan but again.. dairy intolerance sucks). This place is pretty preppy/upscale but the prices were in line with what you expect at a nice cafe. I'll visit again during breakfast hours!

Walked in with my mom for the first time, it was around 2 in the afternoon. I reached the second doorway and saw what looked like the entire wait staff behind the long tall counter all busy with there heads down. And I kid you not... I swear... It was like unison, they all looked up and I'd say 80% of them gave me that... Omfg not another customer... Ughhh look and that was enough for me! I turned around and walked right back out. As we were leaving we noticed that the hours outside the door was very close to closing time... Guess that explains the attitude. But really... What's with the attitude? And you close that early? I would have much rather gotten the sorry ma'am we are closing for the day please come back response then the one that I got. I was sooooo looking forward lunch. What is going on with customer service these days.

Stopped in for lunch after driving by and seeing the cupcake sign. We had never heard of J Cafe so it was a leap of faith. The interior in very welcoming and the employees are very friendly. We opted for sandwiches from the lunch menu and got two of the cupcakes as well. We enjoyed the sandwiches and the cupcakes were some of the better ones that we've had in the area. Very moist, light fluffy cake with icing that was not too sweet.

I have yet to have a poor meal here. This is my 'go to' breakfast/brunch place and we go every time there is family in town. I've not tried their cupcakes. Great mochas, hubby Loves their crab quiche.

I've only had the J's breakfast panini but its damn good. By far the best breakfast sandwich in Westminster. They have an assortment of cupcakes both times I was there and will have to try one on my next visit.

Stopped in with a friend for lunch and it was great! We split 2 sandwiches (gourmet grilled cheese and roast beef wrap) and they were very good. Staff was friendly and attentive. The location on Main St is a renovated building; the cafe appears to have the whole first floor, one side with tables and the other with tables/chairs that invite you to linger with some coffee and a cupcake. I believe they are open for breakfast and lunch only. I will have to go back when I'm in the area again!

What a great experience. I am hanging out in Westminster during the mornings while my daughter is in school, so I've gotten around to lots of breakfast places lately. Yesterday I was at IHOP, and today I tried J Cafe. . . which is roughly a million times better. The veggie scramble was delicious and the fruit that came with it was worthy of a photo shoot - fresh blueberries, strawberries, melon, and kiwi. Service was fast and friendly, and the decor gave me ideas for decorating at home - very comfortable, stylish, and clean. I worked for a long time on my laptop, using the free WiFi. Great place!

Just went to J cafe for the first time for breakfast. It was a Tuesday morning so it wasn't very busy. Very cute atmosphere! The food was delicious, I had the veggie scrambler which came with 12 grain toast and fruit. My boyfriend got the J's breakfast which he inhaled! Perfect portions, not too much or too little. Prices were very affordable. Quick and friendly service!

Arrived at 8:20 and I was only person here. The place is located in an old row home. Atmosphere is great and the staff was attentive. They have breakfast specials which sounded great. Coffee is good and on the strong side. Food came fast and was hot. Everything was very good. One suggestion is thicker bacon.

This is our go to Saturday morning breakfast place for work ! I always go for the Mediterranean omlet with out olives . The fruit cup is always fresh and crisp. If I can get up the courage to try something different it would be the breakfast Quesodillia . Carry out is always on point . Don't miss it on Main Street !

We have gotten J Cafe catering a few times now with my work (a dental office). They have always been very accommodating. They always have Matt deliver who is very friendly. We just love him! We always get a big salad (The apple and spiced pecan one is great) and a wrap tray... and maybe some cupcakes. I am GF, so is my boss, so they make GF wraps. Definitely one of the best places to get lunch delivered from!
