Best Mexican in town! (Not that there are many options). For the most part, authentic. Ten times better then Papa Joe's! I've had the tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas and Chile Relleno (my favorite!!) and it was all amazing! Don't miss out on the simple "cheese dip" in the beginning too!! Gets rather busy during the evening, and can get a little loud, which really just attests to the popularity. Service could be improved, but isn't horrible.

First time at Cinco De Mayo and I gotta say not impressed at all! I ordered a set of 3 Mexican tacos (steak) and they were dripping with grease. The steak had no flavor! Also, the beans and rice did not taste fresh. They tasted like they're from the can. Not authentic at all! The chips and salsa were okay. My mother ordered the "crazy chicken" el pollo loco and we had to ask them to make her a new plate! That chicken was so salty.. It tasted like someone marinated the chicken in salt! Not pleased at all! Their prices are a little high! Sorry but will be continuing to go to Papa Joe's

Excellent food, great service, friendly atmosphere! I love the made to order guacamole, Texanas Fajitas, and grilled tacos. We have been here a dozen or more times and have never had to wait more than 15 minutes. The Margaritas are large and tasty too.

Was very pleasantly surprised! Love the table side guacamole preparation. Everything tastes very fresh!

Went for lunch, chip and salsa was very good had the table side guacamole which was good also. Ordered the lunch chicken fajita which were a disappointment. It comes on a plate with beans and lettuce and a small amount of pico. I like my fajitas to come out sizzling on a red hot skillet. The fajita mix cooled off very quickly. The service was ok could have been quicker. The ladies room was dirty and had a inch of standing water on the floor I don't know what that was about. This restaurant has only been open a week or two maybe so maybe give them a month to work out the kinks out

I have to say after reading such positive reviews I was disappointed with my meal. After eating tex mex for past 17 years in north Texas and reading such great reviews i had high hopes for this restaurant. I ordered the chicken fajita platter and it was nothing like chicken fajitas I ever had. The entree was mostly onions and peppers with very tiny tiny pieces of chicken meat. At most there was 1/4 chicken breast in whole entree. So my search continues to find a good Tex mex restaurant.

This is my new favorite place! I just tried Cinco de Mayo, based on strong Yelp reviews. I had avoided it before, mostly because the previous restaurant in that location was an unimpressive Mexican-esque fast food joint. Yesterday we had lunch at Cinco, and were thoroughly impressed. The made-at-the-table guacamole was perfect. The enchaladas, chalupas, charro beans, and rice were all great. Service couldn't have been better. Prices were great: about $32 for appetizer, two lunches, shared dessert, and iced teas. As ex-pats from Texas, we had missed good Mexican food. Now we can find it locally. I expect that we'll be going to Cinco at least once a week.

The waiter was attentive and polite. The food, though, was a bit overpriced for the quality. I had chicken enchiladas and they weren't very flavorful. I'd go back again though, to give it another chance.

This place is some what new but in no way sis better than Papas! I had a chicken burrito and my girlfriend had another burrito. My Chicken slightly tasted like Japanese hibachi! My girl friends had what appeared to be like very slimy pork and hard to any ranchero sauce in or on it. The rice tasted like uncle bens Mexican rice. Had no spices or hardly any flavor to it. It's a shame a new restaurant has come in and can not even cook authentic Mexican food. The only thing we enjoyed was the chips and salsa. Here we come Papa Joes!

This is my new favorite Mexican in Westminster. Since that other place (papa slow service) moved, its quality and service are garbage. I can't believe how fast the service is at cinco de mayo and how friendly they were. We were also seated immediately on a Saturday night. My drink ran out and I was offered another right away. I had vegetarian fajitas and my wife had vegetarian chile rellenos. Both were delicious. The guacamole is good as well. Serving size was perfect.

Best Mexican restaurant in the area! Very authentic, large portions, and very fresh! Very friendly service and complimentary chips and salsa. I had a burrito and it was wonderful. Will definitely return!

The food here is terrific - very fresh ingredients. I had mole poblano that is out of this world. On top of that, the service is incredibly fast!

My husband and I just finished our first meal here. The service, prompt and attentive. The food, fantastic authentic food! We will definitely be coming back.

We have eaten in once and gotten carryout once. The food was amazing both times and the service incredible. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. I am a Westminster native and never thought I would say this, but it is the BEST Mexican food in the area. It beats Papa Joe's across the street and Montezuma's in Gettysburg. You need to eat here, I know that we will certainly be back many times over. As a matter of fact, I think we'll go tonight.

Atmosphere was good. Facility wasn't as clean as I would like but food was good and so was the service.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. We had the Nacho Supreme and chips and salsa. The chips were fresh cooked. The salsa was very good. It was not very spicy yet had the old style Mexican flavors. The nachos were ok. They were soggy on the bottom but the chicken and beef toppings were flavorful. The best part of the dining experience was the staff and atmosphere. There was Mexican music in the background and the decor reminded me of eating at a traditionally Mexican. restaurant. It was a good experience and We would recommend it to anyone who asked. We will definitely return again.

I'm going to be honest- I can always judge how good the food is going to be by how much I like the chips and salsa. Fortunately, the chips were hot, the salsa was fresh and had the perfect amount of onions and cilantro. I was in heaven! (I could make a meal out of chips and salsa) My first meal was the fish tacos. The fish was perfectly cooked and deliciously tasty! My second meal was a combination platter. My favorite was the chile relleno! The rice is great too. I have yet to try any appetizers or margaritas, but I'll be sure to since I will continue to dine here. Awesome!

It was my first time here and it is a must try! The staff is very friendly and quick. The food came out 10 minutes after we ordered and it was amazing!! The El favorito is a favorite of mine and I totally recommend it.

Absolutely love Cinco de Mayo! In my opinion, way better than Papa Joe's! The waiter we had was very kind, and got everything we needed! Served right away, and great food! Nachos were very good, and also the chicken quesadilla was delicious. Love this restaurant, I would definitely come back again!

Second time here and it was definitely as good as the first. Enchiladas mole poblano the first time, this time enchiladas rancheras, and my husband ordered the enchiladas suizas. The hand made guacamole is amazing! Creamy, fresh ingredients expertly blended. The enchiladas suizas were delectable, and the service excellent.

Went here with my dad and the food was amazing! The guacamole is amazing and comes in a HUGE bowl for the appetizer. They also have yummy salsa!

Atmosphere and service were very good...the food was not. Won't be back. A better bang for your buck is right across the road at Papa Joes

Went here the other day, the place has a nice atmosphere. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the fish tacos (fried). A bit disappointed the fish was chopped and I am not sure if it was even fried. A good fried taco should be a nice batter and deep fried in nice size strips, the rest of the ingredients and sauce were delicius. The rest of the dishes were very good. We like the place I will go agian.

Love the chicken soup, very fresh and authentic. Been here 6 times always get great service and good food. If I had to nitpick I would say they could give out more pico de gallo with your meal and make better refried beans but besides that the rest is delicious.

We live walking distance and were so happy that Cinco de Mayo opened. Was a little concerned it was so close to Papa Joes but I think Papa Joes should be concerned. Cinco had an excellent margarita which Westminster didn't even have a place that had a good one until now. Cheese dip was the white kind which is my favorite and salsa was good as well. We split shrimp steak and chicken fajitas and the portions were huge, very yummy. and a great price. Service was friendly and food came out quickly. We will be regulars.

Have been here once for lunch and once for dinner. Both experiences were enjoyable. This place is very clean and cheery with an upbeat and attentive staff The homemade chips are thin and crispy and their salsa is very flavorful. They have a tasty cheese dip, and great margaritas with a special kicked up jalapeno margarita. Service was prompt and all our entrees were delicious. We will definitely be back.

Awesome experience! Will come back and this will become a regular haunt for us. Fantastic service, yummy food and nice atmosphere. The bartender was hopping....and he did a great job! Everyone was nice, it was clean, and they have CHEESE DIP! Every Mexican restaurant should have cheese dip...and theirs is yum! Westminster needed a place like this!

Went here for lunch- everything was great. The guac is made fresh at your table! Taco salad was great. Service was excellent. Cant wait to go back! Would definitely recommend. You wouldn't know from the outside, since its in a shopping center, that the inside is so nice- love the decor, and its kept clean.

Spent years in Texas with great mexican food and this place is right on par. Amazing tacos, reasonably priced. Best in the area by far

Enchiladas are uncooked and no more than a taco with warm sauce. Service was mediocre at best (we got our food before the silverware) and the tacos came without lettuce, cheese or tomatoes.

I hope the food is better then the service. Ordered take out and decided to wait at the bar until it was ready. You think anyone pretended to be attentive and ask me if I would like a drink??? Nope.... And I'm the only person sitting at the bar. Guess nobody is concerned about up selling

I have nothing negative to say about this place! The food was great, the sangria was very tasty and the atmosphere was nice. A little loud on Saturday night but nothing too bad. They even take reservations during the week, something the other Mexican restaurant does not do. Ask for Luis, great waiter and the food came out super quick. Will be back soon!

We came here with some pre-set expectations. We are extreme fans of another Westminster Mexican restaurant and wanted some good competition. Well, not so much. Nice to see the bar area for seating and a full bar with generous servings of beer. Hubby tried the fish tacos and I had the carne asada. The fish was diced up and was served on corn tortillas. Strangely not really fried looking or tasting. My carne was poorly seasoned and bland. The black beans were tasty (made with chorizo). The tell would be the dessert. Ordered sopapillas. They reminded me of the dessert offered by Taco Bell: cinnamon sugar chips. No bueno!! All in all, the service was quick at 5pm in a Friday but the food was sub-par.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
