Not certain what has happened to this place but it appears that the food quality the last couple of times we've been has declined. On one occasion we tried the soup (tom yum with chicken) for starters and we were very disappointed. The chicken pieces did not appear or taste fresh and the overall taste was off. Really our first time being disappointed with this particular soup anywhere and we've been to various thai places. Most recently the Pad Kra chicken which is normally good wasn't very palatable. Again, a few pieces of chicken tasted rather old and the dish itself was underwhelming. Not sure if it is a new cook or something else. We will probably go to NOVA from now on until things get back on track. The young lady who takes the orders there is very pleasant however.

Good food, quick service. Pad ginger with seafood is a good choice. Love that it's close to home.

Great experience! Pad Thai was amazing. This was my first time and the hostess made me feel like I was an old friend.

Glad to have found a good Thai restaurant near home. I was reluctant to stop after a bad experience at another so-called Thai restaurant in the area, but Thai Palace has erased that horrible experience from my memory. Everything was fabulous; service & food. I will most certainly come again & again! Drunkard Noodle & Thai Iced Tea...you won't go wrong with these.

I didn't even get to try the food because after they gave us the menu, they never came back to check on us after waiting for 15 minutes. I was not going to wait any longer so we left.

Best Thai place in Waldorf. Today was my first time there. I was not going to try this place because I've been to a few Asian restaurants in Maryland and every time was a huge disappointment. Now I definitely do not need to drive across the bridge for a Thai fix. I got the dumplings, spring rolls, shrimp pad Thai, chicken drunkard noodles, crab fried rice and mango sticky rice. I would get everything again except the dumplings. We got everything in the Thai spicy and was that spicy. It is hot and flavorful, but not too hot where you cannot enjoy your meal if you can handle spicy cuisine. I also got the Thai ice tea, it was in a large cup and tasty. I will definitely come back here again.

Pretty good. Ordered delivery from them-$5 fee, but pretty worth it. We got sundried beef, tom yum gum, chicken pad Thai, and seafood pineapple fried rice. They have all the standard foods. Yum! The chicken was a little thinly sliced and dry, but overall, huge portions, quick delivery. The lady who took the order made a couple mistakes, so make sure you have her repeat your order, your address, the prices and credit card numbers! They left out our Thai iced teas so had to bring them back later....they felt bad and gave us another one free! :) cool, and it's raining like crazy out. and not gonna lie---thi was one of the best Thai iced teas I've had, and I've searched far and wide for them. Not too bitter, not too milky, not too sweet, and just the right amount of ice!

Thai Palace has the best Thai food that I have ever had. I have been to several Thai restaurants in the DMV and none of them come close to their flavors. I have so many favorites here that I can only name a few. Shrimp and Asparagus, Claypot Shrimp and Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice. Everything is delicious and non-greasy. The herbs, sauces and freshness of their food is awesome. My family has had several events here and they are currently upgrading their ballroom and adding a fish tank in the floor. The staff are friendly and can make a mean drink. I often indulge in the Thai Dream. All out good people and family oriented. I recommend them for dining and events. They serve Thai and American cuisine.

We dine in about 3 times a month. The service is always good & so is the food & of course the thai iced tea. The only thing I miss is when they used to have lunch time specials. We always get drunken noodles & the chicken dish that comes on top of fresh spinach. The egg rolls are good too.

I don't know how this place got 4 stars. Just had dinner there with my husband and the food was so so. We got tom yum soup, sun dried beef aka microwaved beef jerky for appetizer, a duck and beef kra pao (probably the most descent dish of all listed above). Service was nice and quick, but this mall level place is def overpriced.

The food here is prodigious! I eat here every weekend. They make you feel like you're at home. The waitress are top notch, well spoken, makes sure your glass is never empty. They have the best bartender it's like she makes up these drink in her sleep. Thai Palace is one-of-a-kind. Don't forget to try the chicken fried rice with extra egg!!!!

When my friend told me we were having Thai food in Waldorf I was little bit skeptical. I didn't have the name to check out the Yelp reviews prior to going so I had to just trust his word. Well I'm glad I did. The Pad Thai was delicious. Maybe the best I've had outside of NY. I also had the spring rolls which were good and the Tom Ka Gai soup. My only issue was that I ordered some steam rice to have with my soup and when we got home they forgot to put it in the bag.

Been here with my boyfriend about 5 times on dates, usually on a Friday evening. This is my favorite Thai place right now--especially in this area. I've had better Thai and been to much fancier/upscale Thai places. But I've never had better in Waldorf. And I don't think trendy or upscale is the point of Thai Palace. So what they do, they do well. Ambiance: The decor leaves much to be desired. It kind of has the 90s chinese food restaurant feel. So there's definitely room here for improvement. However, it's often very quiet and dim. So it's still a pretty romantic spot. The crowd tends to be diverse. Families, couples, singles. And everyone is always chill and relaxed. Service: The service is nice enough. Sometimes, I've been here and there aren't very many servers there. So the one lady, who also manages the front, has to be the manager and the waitress. And she can get pretty busy. Other times I've been here and there's like one or 2 servers to every table and they've got time to chat you up. Food: All the stars come in here. The Bottomline, Thai Palace is excellent food for the price. Also, they tend to have drink specials and nicely priced alcoholic beverages. I often order red curry or panang curry. I am absolutely in LOVE with the freshness of the curries. They use Thai Basil, thinly sliced peppers and ginger, and quality meats. The food not only taste amazing and fresh but there's often a delicate artistry to Thai food that really makes you feel like someone took their time cooking it. They let you choose whatever entree you want and add whatever meat you want. If you want some type of combination, they'll accommodate you as well. If I've been here 5 times, I've consistently liked my food 5 times. There's never been any wavering of the quality or the flavors. My boyfriend hops around the menu a bit more though. Out of 5 meals, he's LOVED 4 and thought the 5th one was okay. He was simply disappointed because it was his first time eating duck and he didn't really enjoy the duck as much as the other things he'd eaten here. We've also tried the calamari (doesn't get served anymore) and the dumplings as appetizers. They were both REALLY good. At the end of the day, even though this isn't the most upscale restaurant, it's certainly 5 star food. Thai food quality, flavor, and artistry at an affordable price make this place so great. And I'd recommend Thai Palace for those reasons over and over again.

Satay chicken, spring rolls and steamed dumpling appetizers ordered for the table, a party of four. Tom Kha Gai soup-chicken in coconut milk with lemongrass and mushrooms! Very good. Salad #20 yum! Neau slices of grilled beef seasoned with lemon juice onions & chili on a bed of lettuce. Sticky rice with coconut custard. Yum. Crispy banana with ice cream. Superb. Food was very fresh and flavorful. We had a very nice time and excellent service.

Yayy - so excited to have found a great Thai food spot in my neighborhood. If you're in the area, this is where you want to go for Thai. Delicious. Prices are reasonable, food is authentic and the service is great. My favorites are the pad prik king and the panang curry.

I love this place - for it to be in waldorf its a pretty cool hidden gem of southern MD! I used to go all the way to Arlington but now i can go 5mins from my house & still have good Thai food! Delish & i love my Thai Ice tea!

Good food and well made. The sauce was on thick but they'd probably make it special for you. Decor was awesome and the waitress was fantastic. Fast food that tastes good. Bonus: they gave us to-go rice with our doggybag.

Me and the fam did a late lunch or early dinner on the weekend, and yep, all the the same that is the same. Nothing about Thai Palace disappoints. We has some dumplings and spring rolls for appetizers. The Kids shared Shrimp Pad Thai and Chicken Eggplant entrees. Of the two (of course I tasted... just to make sure it wasn't poisoned - I love those kids!) the eggplant was my favorite. It was really full of flavor. I had the Wild Chicken and the husband had Honey Duck. That duck was so da**ed delicious. I think I finished his meal. No, I did. I'm not the type to order the same thing over and over again, but that duck was stellar. Did I mention we were the only people in there (not for pick up) for most of our visit . People: this place is great. If in Waldorf, GO!

I've been meaning to review this place for awhile, so I might as well do it now. I've been looking for a good Thai restaurant close to where I live without having to go all the way into DC for one. This place is it! As a vegetarian, it's a little difficult to find places that are willing to working with what I eat or even offer a vegetarian menu. Thai Palace is vegetarian/vegan friendly. I usually order Vegetable Rice with Tofu. This dish is my favorite. They use fresh vegetables with their dishes and it seems like everything is made to order. The staff is very polite and helpful. The atmosphere is great and is a perfect place to have a get together with friends, a casual date, or a party. I definitely recommend for everyone to go here, even if it's just for carry out!

We really love this place. The food is great, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the overall experience is always positive. We always order the papaya salad, which is excellent. I also recommend the beef jerky. All of the curries are tasty, but I prefer the noodle dishes. A good choice for thai.

Incredible authentic food, quiet atmosphere, and great service! My family comes here all the time, and is never disappointed. The food is fresh, incredibly fresh. We usually get the chicken pad Thai, beef drunken noodles, and some type of curry. The portions are pretty big, so those 3 entrees are enough to feed a family of 6. The prices are decent too! It's difficult to find good authentic food in Waldorf, but Thai Palace is exceptional. They also participated in a fundraiser called the Best of Charles County expo, where they donated money to the American Cancer Society, and then came to our event and gave out free samples to the community. So not only are they awesome within the restaurant, but also within the community! I Thai Palace.

The wife and I went here on a whim one weekday lunch. I was very happy we did. We had a very clean, comfortably decorated, quiet restaurant to enjoy. We each ordered one dish, her Pad Prikh King was super. Nice flavor with snappy green beans and just enough spice. My Duck dish was very good as well. The vegetables cooked perfectly, to ensure the snap of freshness, and the sauces flavorful but not overwhemling the dish. We will be back for more.

I'm no Thai connoisseur, but I really liked this place! I was meeting an old work buddy, and we tried to go to Baras, but...they're closed on Tuesdays, so we walked down to the Thai place. Typical decor, solid food. We each ordered an appy - satay chicken, curry puffs, fried shrimp, and spring rolls - and they were all excellent. The chicken and curry puffs come with a tomato/onion/pepper 'salsa' that you think is going to taste like pico de gallo, but it's very sweet, and you can barely taste the onion. This worked really well on the chicken. I've always sworn off curry, but I actually enjoyed the curry puffs, as well! For dinner, I ordered the seafood Drunken Noodles, and although it said 'spicy' on the menu, I didn't find them overly hot. Sure, there was some heat, but nothing I couldn't handle, and I'm the guy that gets medium wings, rather than hot. There was a lot of seafood (shrimp, scallops, mussels), and the taste was fantastic! Back to curry, I really have always disliked curry, but most of what I've tried has been middle eastern/northern Africa style curries. My buddy ordered the Red Duck Curry, and I tried a piece of the duck - I actually really liked the flavor, and was surprised that I didn't hate the curry. Maybe my palate has changed??? If I ever happen to be in Waldorf again (not likely), I'll definitely head here again!

First time coming here and was very impressed with my food! I ordered take out and I like my food Thai spicy as I'm half Thai. This is the first place in the area that actually made it that way! It was so good!

This is a good reliable Thai restaurant for some authentic Thai dishes. The food is seasoned well with reasonably good sauces in good portions and will please most adventurous dinners. If you like some heat, they will comply. We come here maybe once every couple months, on Monday nights when other restaurants like Kodori are closed. I think the veggies are cut a bit too big for a single bite and slightly under cooked here. I like the crispy duck, drunken noodles dishes. Asian food is about the perfect bite, not requiring knife and fork additional work from the dinner. Lots of dishes here has plain unseasoned under steamed veggies on the side that is not incorporated to the main dish and the sauces. All they need are a few more minutes of cooking with the main protein wok char and seasoning to complete the process. For these reasons, I prefer the slightly more elegant taste and cooking of Thai Flavor near the mall. Our family also really like to go to Fort Washington almost every other week, Thai Golden, for their unique seaweed and pork soup, pad Thai, any protein with fermented soy bean sauce, crab fried rice, and Thai Violet eggplant dish.

Thai Palace is legit. It's places like these that make me check my city food snobbery because I'd happily swap out this place with any of my alexandria options. We ordered: Chicken Satay: For $8 we had about 6 skewers of fresh off the grill chicken. Seasoned, juicy, served with a satisfying peanut sauce and a refreshingly tart chopped veggie medley. Country Style Curry: THIS. I asked for thai hot, and I got it. It was almost too spicy to eat but way too good not to suck it up and take the next bite. I loved this curry, it was less sweet than your standard Red and served with a good mix of bell peppers, carrot, bamboo, mushroom, green beans and my arch nemesis baby corn. I ordered mine with tofu and while they gave me an unusually large portion of tofu (yay!) the tofu itself was slightly over cooked (boo). Pad Thai: Orderd 1 star spicy. Husband usually gets pad thai and it's often on the sweet side. The little bit of spice added made for a welcome change of taste on the palate. Might I also mention my $5 wine was a very full glass rather than the just enough to be considered a serving at most places.

Thai Palace has solid chicken satay. First time we went, they were amazing. Second time we went, it was alright. I would give them another star if they had consistency in the quality of their food. Service is usually on point. The alcoholic drinks are well made. The interior seemed a bit run down when I visited (holes in seats). Cleanliness of the restaurant seems to be average for the Waldorf area. Nothing spectacular; but nothing to keep me from coming back.

The 411: this is a really clean and inviting Thai restaurant in Waldorf with solid flavors and fair prices. Food) I've had red curry pork at "3 spice" (customizable spiciness scale from 1-4), satay, and kanob jeen dumplings. The satay were pretty tasty. Good flavor and pretty good salad and sauce on the side. The dumplings were also fresh and really decent. I like the crispy garlic they serve it with. Also served with sweet soy sauce. Service) nice and attentive service with quick service and flexibility with food orders (I ordered extra basil in my curry pork and they didn't charge extra or anything. Experience) it was July 4th when I went and they were open. My girlfriend and I were the only couple there for a while, so it was a nice quiet lunch. Everything was very nice and prices were fair in relation to the other options in the Waldorf area. Bottom line: this is arguably the best Thai food restaurants in the area. I highly recommend you give this place a try. It's clean and I think they have a lounge as well for night life.

I have determined this is my favorite restaurant, period. Their food is spectacular. I've tried a different dish every time I've been although all are well worth "go-to/old standby" status. Love this p(a)lace!

One of the few places in Southern Maryland that does Eat24 and delivers a reasonably pleasant takeout exp-WTF THAT IS INCREDIBLY HOT!!! Okay, seriously, that is one spicy dish, one that gave me a bit of a shock when I took my first bite. I have pretty muted expectations when it comes to ordering Thai takeout in and around DC, but this one offers four spice levels and actually gives you what you ask for; I asked for "authentic Thai spicy" and if this isn't, I don't know what is. This delicious Pad Kaprow was one of the better renderings (of many) of the classic chili-basil concoction that I've had with a nice array of vegetables, and it had the sort of heat that forces you to down a large water bottle to finish half of it, and if you get the sauce on your hands, to be extremely careful when you need to take a leak afterwards. All my lady readers that don't understand that reference, try not to think about it. All of this is a good thing, by the way. Good food is often painful. I was also enthused by the variety of customization and sides. I added a comment asking them to omit broccoli, and they did. I added extra tofu and some glass noodles on the side (which for some reason did have tiny flecks of broccoli; not enough to make them disgusting though) and got two meals out of it and diluted the spice some in the process. And as I've pictured, they included an extra little vial of something fiery and powdered, presumably kept separate for my protection. Probably a wise move, but I'm adding that stuff to my leftovers. If I never write another Yelp review, you'll know what my cause of death was. Seeing as how my favorite Chinese restaurant farther south has closed, food is not this area's strength, and this restaurant is convenient, good, and not that expensive, I'm pretty excited. The main reason I didn't give them five stars is that they don't really have much on the vegetarian menu. Of course, I'd rather that then have them try to pass off fish-infused curries, but in an ideal world, they'd offer more things that I could eat. 4.5 stars and likely another visit during my semi-regular Southern Maryland excursions.

Let me first start by saying that the Thai Palace is the best Thai food that I have had. also I have brought my family down on several occasions, some of the best bar tenders that I have got a drink from bar none. Some of my favorites are satay chicken, curry pad thai noodles and shrimps, shrimp & asparagus and shrimp fried rice so if you are in Waldorf and have the urge for some real authentic thai food stop in and see Sam. oh tell him coach bell sent you.

  • Lakisha P.

My husband and I have been coming here several times a month for over 3 years so they know what we want as soon as we sit down. They don't even give us menus anymore, lol. The food is great and the service is even better. My husband always gets Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp and I get beef with mixed vegetables. Heat range is from no spice to Thai hot (0 to 4 stars). There's a club connected so be warned it can get a little loud on weekend nights.

  • Stella M.

Honestly, I think this is one of the BEST Thai restaurants I've ever tried. I am from Los Angeles and I've tried all different (and famous) Thai restaurants in my city, but I am genuinely surprised by the quality and taste of food by Thai Palace. I've tried their Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Panang Curry, Duck Curry, Honey Roast Duck, Fried Rice, Red Soup Noodle, Papaya Salad and more, and they were all good. The waitress who seems to be the daughter of the owner, was kind enough to provide us with a surprise dessert. Thai Palace definitely made our trip more satisfying. I plan to come back here when I visit the state again.

I always love eating from this restaurant. I've never dined in I've always ordered online and had it delivered through go waiter. The food is a always good and always still steaming got when it arrives to my door. I always get the curry (panang or green) and dumplings. I will occasionally order the Pad Thai when I'm in the mood for noodles. You can never go worn with any of the three dishes. Simply delicious.

After 40 reviews, it is hard to say something that hasn't already been said! This place is great! Got the Pad See Ew, and I am far from disappointed. Thick, chew noodles, plenty of chicken and egg, lots of flavor, perfect amount of sauce, and the spice was PERFECT. Nothing worse than ordering 7/10 spicy and getting 1 or 2/10. More expensive than fast food Chinese, but SOOO WORTH IT! Keep it up Thai Palace!

  • Erin L.

The entire experience was alright overall. There were large portions but the flavor was lackluster. Our waitress seemed to forget about our table and never asked us for refills and took 15 minutes to bring us our check after we finished eating.

Chicken satay was amazing. Perfectly cooked chicken served with a nice peanut sauce that maybe only need a tad more heat added to it as it was on the mild side and very fresh and flavorful veggie topping.

The food is delicious. Tried the curry puffs for an appetizer-Highly recommend them! I had the Drunkard Noodles which were good-on the spicy side so if you don't like spicy ask for mild. I will definitely be coming back!

Eat in. Phenominal food. Best deal is at lunch. Otherwise they are pretty expensive. I've had the drunken noodle and a few curry dishes and both have hit the spot. The carryout order I had this past weekend was the first time I had done dinner. It was a ton of food per dish.

  • Laurel C.

This place is reliably good. I've had the spring rolls and drunken noodles with tofu there ever time I've gone, which is not the best cross section of the menu, but I enjoy it! I've also sampled the cripy tofu/tofu tod and it's yummy as well. Their tofu is well cooked and so are their spring rolls. My husband loves the spicy beef salad and he's had a variety of their entrees and enjoys them as well. The decor and ambiance aren't the greatest- there's a big tv over the bar that's kind of distracting. Usually it is not very busy and you get great service, but when there's any sort of a crowd you realize that there's only one waitress... not quite enough. We'll still keep going back because it's good food and they're very nice.

I was here today cause my normal place had issues......not even gonna go there.....I have always known about this place being next to the Pizza Place (which I love), but this is about Thai....waitress super nice, funny and did I say nice and fun to talk to. As I was dining alone thank you for being a good hostess:) My food....had Thai ice tea I had two of those....whew I gotta put my walking shoes on tonight....had drunken noodle, some type of duck and order of spring rolls.....yup I like to nibble and sample....good portions had plenty of food to take home you would never know I ate anything.....from the leftovers. I will be back, I wonder if they can make one of my favorite dishes Yum Watercress ....its crunchy fried watercress over that seafood salad with that delicious dressing....man if I could get that I would be so happy. Right about now I am thinking about going downstairs for a little taste of the leftover drunken noodle.... But eating late not good for you as you get older.....but drunken noodle for breakfast sounds like a definite possibility. Oh and prices fair and reasonable for dinner menu which is all day Sat from what I saw.....and establishment clean, restrooms clean and was nice to watch TV while getting my nibble on.
