Best pizza in Carroll County. The house pizza is delicious and the Greek salad with home made dressing is great. Might not stack up against New York or Chicago but far better than the pizza chains in the area. Haven't had other dishes here so the stars are for pizza and service. Service is usually friend and fast. Outdoor seating is very nice when the weather is nice. Resonablly good beer selection for draft and bottle, some craft beer options other than the usual swill from Bud or Coors.

Very good food, not your typical greasy pizza and pasta. The quality is consistently high, the pizzas have good crust and well made with unique toppings. If you like Pappa Johns or Dominos "pizza" this place is not for you. Also live their salads, they are a meal in themselves. More of a west coast vibe to the food and salads which is great, specially in Eldersburg. The pastas are good and deserts are pretty amazing. Also a very good bar with nice outdoor seating and drinks. This place is a find, definitely try it.

Food is incredibly bland. Based on the other reviews I guess that passes as good in Eldersburg. Seriously flavorless food. Big portions though if you are into that sort of thing. I asked if breadsticks came with the chicken parm. They said no so I ordered some. Chicken parm came with "garlic" bread so I didn't need the bread sticks... annoying.

I was not super impressed with the food quality. The portions were huge, which is something i do appreciate (love me some left overs). Since i don't eat meat, i usually go for the Eggplant Parm when i dine Italian. I always hope it will not disappoint, as so many of them do. This one was smothered in too much cheese and sauce, making the eggplant mushy. Bread and salads were good. This is a local favorite, so it may just be my taste that didn't meld with Amantes.

Pizza comes in a large assortment of ways. A little pricey, the pies are fresh and the quality of the cheese is above average. Time of pick up was as they say it was.

Over priced and generally bland and average. Not a huge fan of the pizza, but that is something that everyone has their own preference of style. I found the dough to be bland and chewy. The pastas are awful. I added chicken (for $4 to am already $12 pasta) to a pasta and it was absolutely disgusting. It appeared to be the prepackaged Purdue chicken that I sometimes throw in a salad when I'm too lazy to grill my own. Tasted processed, chewy and had a disturbing flavor - I picked around the chicken and just ate the (overlooked) noodles. The sauce (Alfredo) had tasted like oil and butter. No Alfredo flavor to be found. The meat ravioli was obviously a frozen product and close to inedible. Had a very strange flavor and the meat sauce was bland. We are new to the area and were excited to have this local place near by, but won't be visiting again.

Overall Rating: (2.9 / 5) "Average" We know we are not going to be popular for our review of this local favorite, but we have to be fair and objective. In our experience Amante served decent pizza (depending upon your taste) and very sub-par pasta. The service and atmosphere are nothing special, but the outdoor bar area is a nice touch. Overall, the restaurant is overpriced for just average food. We left very underwhelmed based upon the praise we have heard for Amante. Full Review: Food (3 / 5) "Average": Amante offers a full range of Italian dishes including pasta, pizza, and salads. We prefer not to rate a restaurant based on pizza because so many people are partial to a specific style. The saying "one man's trash is another's treasure" definitely applies to the pizza pie. However, we will let the pizza slightly influence the ranking here because it is such a local favorite, but we will stay objective about the style, which is a modified deep dish. It most closely reminded us of Chicago Uno Grill for comparison. How did we rate the pizza...ah, good but not great. The ingredients were high quality, but the overall taste and texture didn't blow us away like we thought it would based on the local rave reviews. Onto the pasta. Frankly, it stunk. The meatballs were obviously the store-bought frozen variety, very small, and lacking flavor. The red meat sauce was heavy on the meat and light on tomato base, and the pasta was slightly overcooked. We are being very lenient when we say the food here, overall, was average. Service (3 / 5) "Average": Nothing to mention really. The service was there, and our waitress brought the food and refilled our glasses once. That's about it. Value (2 / 5) "Worse than Most": For the prices that Amante charges (over $20 for a large pizza), you would expect a very high quality meal with attention to detail and plating. That is not the case. The food here is very overpriced. The worst of which is the pasta, which we advise to avoid completely. Atmosphere (3.5/ 5) "Good": The decor and interior of the restaurant are one of its better features, and is much better than what you would expect based upon its exterior appearance. The downstairs bar and outdoor seating add to the experience. Scoring Weights: Food - 50%, Value - 20%, Service - 20%, Atmosphere - 10%. After all, food makes a restaurant--everything else is just the figurative sugar and cherry on top. Final Ranking: .8 and .9 is awarded the next level up for final ranking. For example, 3.8 is awarded 4 stars.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and am happy to sit on their very nice, covered outdoor patio. We'll be back again at night now that I hear they occasionally have live music! A great hidden treasure!

Ok, so I have had very mixed reviews of this place. The food is good! It's mostly Italian and the portions are huge. Unfortunately, the servers suck. Like really poor service. After being seated, a group of 4 of us waited 20 min for drinks. It was so frustrating. HOWEVER: the food is good and prices are great for the portion size. Stick to takeout. All the good food & value without having to deal with or tip the sassy staff.

So this place is very near my home and I've never tried it. I read a decent review and hubby and I went. We decided to eat in the bar so I can't say anything about the dining room. Though I think it's the same Menu. The bar was small but pretty cool. Music loud. Games on. I wanted to chill and watch baseball but our team wasn't on. So I asked if they could put it on. I kind of got weird look. We wanted Nats on and they had three tvs w Orioles games on. It's an Orioles bar -the pennants told me that and I like the Os but we wanted to see Nats. Nobody was watching the tv near us. Nothing happened so we asked again. Bartender looked like she might be asking the other one. Nothing happened. So we never got to see the game and nobody said why. Maybe they didn't get that station. But who knows! So I didn't like that. I didn't find the staff overly friendly either. It was a little cold. With nicer people it could have been so much better and more fun. Food- Wings BBQ. Pretty good. 4 stars Side salad. -just meh. 2 stars Penne pasta. - noodles cooked well. But sauce was just blah. I make much better sauce. -2 Pizza- Florence (they have over 30 choices) very good -4 stars (hubby) 3.5 stars me. Very cheesy. A bit too much for me. Sangria white. Good but needed club soda bc I like it bubbly. They added it. Needed more ice (my preference). 3 stars. The menu is huge. So I only had a small fraction of the offerings. I wanted to want to go back. There is outside seating and I thought trying that out might be ok. But half the deck (upper part) is smoking and if it blows down to the lower it would bug me. That and the less than friendly servers , lack of turning on our game, and just ok food is reason I probably won't return. Hubby says he'd carry out pizza again. Overall just ok. I was hoping for more.

I was in the mood for a good pizza so I ordered a pizza for carry out and it was cold . I called them about it and all they said was sorry about that. There pizza is high so you want to be hot. I will never go there again.

If I could I would give it zero stars....I would Upon walking in there last night on a Saturday...which I was shocked as to how busy it was....I was approached by the apparent manager who told me that I had been banned from their establishment and that I was to leave right away. When I asked him the reasoning behind this he said because the barmaid..who is a male told him I was. At this point my friend confronted the manager who again hadn't reasoning behind why I was "banned" he then attempted to ask the bartender who threw his hands up in the air looked at me with devil like eyes and screamed "she knows why." Needless to say...I left right away. I have no idea why I am banned but these people are insane and I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone. Not sure if they think I was a stripper who had sex with a patron in their bathroom or what....honestly I don't really care. They will not ever again get any of my business and I plan on sharing this story with fellow Eldersburg residents.

Five stars for the pizza. I have had well over 100 pizzas in my life and this ranks in the top five hands down. Delicious, fresh and high quality ingredients. YUMMMMMMM!!! A bit on the pricey side for pizza but don't let that scare you.

Best pizza in town if you don't want mass produced, boring fare. Lots of toppings such as artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes. The salads are outstanding as well. This is our favorite takeout spot in town.

Amante's has fantastic salads and their carrot cake is definitely worth saving room for. The portion sizes are huge and I always get a second meal out of whatever I order. I love that they have outdoor seating and they have live music now and then. It's super casual and laid back but perhaps the best thing about them is they deliver. That's hard to find in the Sykesville area unless you're ordering pizza.

I really liked their Spaghetti Veneto. The live music downstairs in the bar is often good and easy to enjoy a beer while watching the game on closed caption. The prices are reasonable and the food is great--upstairs or downstairs environments are both great. The best part I enjoyed about Amante is the carrot cake--they provide a huge piece and it is best I've ever had--anywhere in the nation. The staff is is always friendly and quick to bring the food out whether it is dine-in or take-out.

A really great place, you'd never know it from the location. Mostly Italian dishes with hearty portions, nice presentation, and great taste. Also has some very good seafood dishes, including outstanding crab cakes. Prices are good and the place is rarely crowded. Excellent option for dining in the Sykesville area. The bar is also a little known gem. It's downstairs under the restaurant. Fairly large bar area, several easily viewable televisions, nice ambiance, rarely over-crowded. And there is a very nice outside area for warmer weather.

This is a small chain based mostly out of the Seattle, Washington area. Oh yeah, they also have one location in Phoenix and one in Sykesville/Eldersburg...go figure. I've been here a few times now, and each time, the food has just been awesome. As the name implys, it's mostly italian fare. From great pizzas and calzones, to pastas and subs. But more than that, I've had probably one of the best tuna sandwiches I've ever had in addition to some excellent rockfish too. The menu is inventive, and nice beer selection with some local micros on tap. Can't make it there? They deliver too! The pizzas are something special, see their web page for more. This place is really a great value for the quality of the food. If the weather is good, sit out back under the canopy and enjoy the breeze...highly recommended!
