The Froyo House

550 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd
Severna Park, 21146
Reviews:
Often rode past this place on the B&A trail - stopped in one day to a lovely surprise!!! Best FroYo place I have ever been to. Many options, good service, reasonably priced, highly recommend.
Yelp thankfully helped me find this location and I'm thankful it did! The service was phenomenal and do was the frozen yogurt. Also, I really like how it wasn't a place that catered to a certain type of person...aka kids or Jesus...but it was open to just anyone. Also, it's a very dis opus location, no need to feel cluttered.
This place is one of the best froyo places I've been to! Lots of froyo flavors and tons of toppings. They even have bacon. Movies playing for the kids and it's clean. Employees are friendly and even when it's busy it's not too crowded feeling. The people of Severna Park are spoiled with this place! Would def come back and will recommend to friends.

Cakes and Confections Gourmet Bakery

342 Ritchie Hwy,Suite B
Severna Park, 21146
Reviews:
Cakes and Confections has a new location! I was privileged to attend the grand opening in Severna Park today alongside many other happy customers. I must have had two of each item from the free sample table- holiday sugar cookies, bite-sized key lime pies, white cake with raspberry filling and more, with four cups of their gourmet coffee. I also ordered and savored the most delicious breakfast sandwich of my 28 years on this earth- sausage, egg and cheese on a flaky croissant. The croissant was better than I'd had in France, and the sandwich melted in my mouth; I wish I hadn't been too shy to order another for "later." The owners are a genial family of four who likely woke at dawn to churn butter and gather the most promising eggs from chickens they've coddled from birth. I couldn't resist grabbing a bacon-cheddar scone on my way out. I also couldn't resist eating it immediately upon arriving home. The thing was ridiculous- a revelation. They even have lunch and dinner sandwiches, soup and the like. I can't wait to try the shrimp salad that my dad raves about. Alas, a tragic twist- I live in California and am currently visiting my parents in Maryland. They can thank Cakes and Confections, which has me already planning my next trip. Run, don't walk, but do pass Go and collect the 200 dollars, since you'll want to spend the lot of it here.
I was behind schedule ordering a cake for my boyfriend's birthday party with basic decorating. After calling a few bakeries I'm used to ordering from, and hearing "no, no, no," I found this bakery here on Yelp. Michael answered the phone and said "yes." He and his wife Julianne was able to come through in a pinch with a fantastic Almond Amaretto cake. They were professional, made tasty cakes and reasonably priced. This was a fantastic find. I'll keep them in my phone list for future business definitely!!!
This is a neat little place in a neat little nook. I stopped in to get a sandwich for lunch and I was happily surprised with a roasted chicken on wheat with cheese, tomatos and lettuce. The mayo also had a litlte garlic in it and made it just delicious and just like home really. I also have the pleasure of having one of those sodas in a bottle... it was a birch soda... yummy. With the soda, cookie and chips, it was a combo and I would go back for some more next time. I want to try the cakes still but I am here to tell you they do LUNCH and it was wonderful. There is unfortunately no where to sit but, you get it to go. I will be back for the desserts next time!

Donut Shack

497 Ritchie Hwy
Severna Park, 21146
Reviews:
This Severna Park icon is the BEST for those days you just need donuts and coffee! I love the simple diner atmosphere and the unbeatable prices. Yes you have to pay in cash but they provide an in-store ATM so no excuses for not giving this place a try. The donuts are your basic cake donut and come in a variety of flavors. I'm a stickler for a vanilla sprinkle every time but I have had several others that are equally delicious. The coffee isn't anything fancy but that's what I like about it and it compliments the sweetness of the donuts like non-other. Don't pass this place when you're on Rt. 2- you won't regret it.
CASH ONLY!! We received a coupon in the mail so we decided to try Donut Shack. I love how it is family owned and not a chain. I will admit that we were a little disappointed. The donuts were dry and a lot of the glazed donuts needed more glaze. Maybe we had an old batch. The price for a dozen is great... $7 and some change. We will definitely give them another shot and hopefully we will get the moist donuts that everyone else is raving about. Heating up the donut on day 2 in the microwave for 15 seconds made the donut taste a lot better. The coffee is ok. A little weak and watery. Next time I will stick to juice.
I love donuts. These donuts are nice and dense. The texture is very rich - the dough is not dry at all. The donut were fluffed enough but not too airy. The dough kind of a fresh baked cheese effect - the dough hung when you tore it (so kind of a brilliant under baked donut). I would definitely recommend this place!

The Big Bean

Reviews:
Always like this place, great coffee, quick service.
This place is a great example of a mom and pop type business that has a product that stands above the national chains. I tried the mexican moca, and holy cow it was delicious. Just enough sweetness. Get your butt over this joint and get yourself an awesome coffee.
Bottom Line: A cute local shop with friendly baristas serving coffee, tea and other concoctions. Yay local business! What a cute little place. I can't claim to be a connoisseur or either coffee or tea, but I do really enjoy both, and particularly tea. Initially I went here because someone at the gym had some awesome smelling black tea. As I entered The Big Bean, I learned that they had many varieties of tea - both bags and loose. I knew I wanted to loose but still needed help deciding. The staff showed me their tea labeling system (black, green, etc.) and was able to eloquently describe the different teas. (Don't worry, no one was behind me in line!) I also got to take a whiff of a few teas before picking one out. Not only was my tea delish, the overall experience was quaint and friendly. Mmm, and now I am officially craving some Big Bean tea.

Life Pho

Severna Park, 21146
Reviews:
I've been going to this place for more than a year now and I figured it would be just perfect for my first Yelp review. My boyfriend and I always found that there was a lack of good Asian cuisine in this area. Enter Life Pho. This little hole in the wall is going to be your new go-to for Vietnamese. I always get the small seafood pho, which is lighter than your typical beef pho. And between the variety of fresh fixings and sauces, the endless meat and noodles, and the flavorful broth, we always keep coming back at least once a week. Even in the summer! The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. Not to mention, the prices are great too. If you are looking for a different type of fare for date night, I cannot recommend this place enough.
It was phofastic! My pho smelled like the streets of Saigon - took me right back! The noodles were cooked to perfection, not soggy and an interesting crunch to it. The noodles were also somewhat sweet. My sister was not too fond of that, but it was perfect for me since I added a lot of sriracha to my pho. Take it as you will. The broth was beautiful - totally delicious and fresh! The large was very phofilling (lots of noodles for your buck)! Would highly recommend!
This is an authentic mom and pop Vietnamese joint, period. I'm so glad that they opened up here in the Annapolis/Severna Park/Pasadena area, a.k.a where authentic Asian food comes to die. Life Pho is a shiny glimmer of hope that when good authentic Asian food that isn't Americanized, commercialized or dumbed down, people can appreciate it and will come to eat. I personally love the Pho and if you're really adventurous, the Bun Bo Hue. The Pho is a safe bet but it's authentic taste, cuts of meat and execution is what separates Life Pho from other viet places. The Bun Bo Hue is so authentic I can't even... Not only is the broth good, the cuts of meat are right and it's perfectly spicy, albeit not American spicy. I just love this place and come here frequently. The price is also amazing. I would put Life Pho up against any Viet restaurant in the Northern Virginia area where pho restaurants run rampant. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

Reviews:
Food was great as was the service. Friendly atmosphere and owner (Todd) was very nice. We will be going back.
How this place has 4.5 stars, I have no clue why.... Nice driver and quick delivery and the food tasted okay. BUT... - The Hunan Chicken was SO greasy (see photo) and had what looked and tasted like canned mushrooms. The grease was so bad that I could feel it all over me after eating - The fried noodles (that come with soup) are the store-bought kind. - The tofu dish we got didn't have fried tofu, as they told us over the phone. It was the soft mushy tofu we don't like. We specifically asked, twice. I hate places that seem to tell you what you want to hear. Feeling super gross after this meal. Definitely not ordering from here again... DH got it for me since I was home alone with our babe. Big mistake.
I've ordered from here twice, once my mom and I, another my dad ordered for himself, my mom and I. All five meals were well loved. I had mapo tofu which was spicy goodness. My mom had some lunch special with scallops and tasting one I almost wish I got that instead. Both of us liked the hot and sour soup. The next time my dad went with General Tso's which is his meal to gauge a return visit. Loved it. My mom got some kind of noodles which she liked. I got egg drop soup which I loved. I like it thick and yellow and salty. Their hot and sour is thick spicy and sour. This time I got shrimp in hot sauce. It was like a thinner spicy ketchup sauce. Pretty darn good. Definitely my new local goto when I am in the area and my dad announced they have a new chinese spot. BOOM. Yelp does it again.

Cafe Bretton

849 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd
Severna Park, 21146
Reviews:
Another fine dining experience at Cafe Bretton. The four of us shared appetizers of escargot (tender and flavorful) and wild mushroom tartalette (outstanding!). Our entrees included filet of sole, lobster, a seafood stew, and almond crusted pan-seared rockfish resting on a bed of sauteed spinach. All were exceptional, especially my rockfish fillet. I tasted all four entrees, but the rockfish (my choice) was the best of the lot (of course, I am biased). The fish was perfectly cooked, with the almonds and spinach providing delicious counterpoint flavors. The side of potatoes au gratin was wonderful. We shared a bottle of Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages which complimented all four entrees perfectly. For dessert we shared a HUGE slice of Smith Island cake. This was my first experience with this Maryland icon, and I wasn't disappointed. All-in-all a 4 star experience. Cafe Bretton is a quiet, elegant place to dine with family (no kids, please), friends, or that special someone on a special occasion. The menu changes frequently, but we have yet to be disappointed. The wine list is short but adequate. The atmosphere is perfect for quiet conversation. It's great to have a place like this that hasn't succumbed to the industrial, warehouse decor that seems to be gaining popularity over the last few years. Prices remain reasonable. Since Cafe Bretton isn't situated on the water, isn't located in the city, doesn't have live entertainment, and doesn't cater to the boisterous, it must base its reputation on food and service. It succeeds wonderfully in both.
So impressed with this fabulous restaurant! Extremely friendly service, warm ambiance, creative menu and delicious food! The owner was very personable, welcoming and generously served us up a complimentary glass of wine after seeing me in a sling! It just made the night even more memorable! Cafe Bretton has just moved up to first place on our list for a really good local restaurant option and we will return and bring friends!
I've been here three times, and each visit was great. The Beef Bourguignon and french onion soup is amazing. The tables by the fireplace make for a cozy night.

So yhis is in the location of Chris' Resturant. It was sold out. The new owners are mexican rather than Chris' salvadorean backround. They were taught how to make the food the same and things seem the same. They are in the process of updating the menu. 2 visits now with new owners and it seems the same quality. But I will continue to update as we keep coming in.

Sofi’s Crepes

Fresh, made to order crepes right on the bike trail in Severna Park. Delicious! Will definitely be back.
This place was good, but not without its faults. We stopped here on a whim for crepes and got Nutella and apple crepes. The crepes themselves were quite fresh and tasty, though perhaps a little bit dry. The ambiance itself was pretty decent, though the store felt quite plain and a teensy bit eerily empty at the time. Overall, a pretty good experience.
We love crepes, so I was happy to see that this place had opened in Severna Park next to our favorite coffee place (The Big Bean). The crepe was well prepared and they have so many selections (from sweet to savory), as well as build-your-own options. It is much more filling than one would think. I'm sure we will become regulars here.

Good Life Organic Market

485 Ritchie Hwy
Severna Park, 21146
Reviews:
Let me say I think the #1 attribute of this store are the owners. They are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, sincere and passionate about health and wellness. I went in a few weeks ago complaining of yo-yo dieting and what hasn't worked in the past. The owner asked me lots of questions, made a recommendation of a supplement that might work for me and after a week, I've lost 9 lbs. It is the one on one attention I get that keeps me coming back. They are there as a resource for what direction to take in my food and supplement choices. For this, I am willing to pay more. I do agree, the pricing is considerably higher than Whole Foods and Trader Joes. I don't do my week's worth of shopping there. Great Place!
It's really nice to have an organic store in the Severna Park area. They have some specialty items that I can't find anywhere else. The staff is wonderful, and the store is family owned & not a chain.
I'm on the fence about this place. Let's work through the pros and cons and see where we end up: PROS-- -friendly and helpful staff / owner Isaac and his wife are usually on hand to help you locate a product or order it for you if need be -fresh and delicious dips, soups, sandwiches and salads from in-house cook Bobbie / Bobbie is on hand Monday through Thursday and makes delicious and healthy offerings with many veg choices too -lots of organic and international products -good selection of vitamins and supplements if that's your kind of thing CONS-- -PRICE / wow! Once you know what things cost, it's really difficult to pay more-even in a pinch! One example: Trader Joe's sells Ezekiel breads for $3.99/loaf, at Whole Paycheck it's $4.99/loaf, and here it's $6.50/loaf. As Hall & Oates sang, "I Can't Go for That." -produce / there are lots of organics here, but the selection is not great, and it can be hit or miss with the quality depending on which day you shop -as Ekaterina mentioned in her review, it seems as though some of the items on the shelves have been there awhile / I have noticed expired products from time to time In all, I'll stop in if I'm having a jones for one of Bobbie's creations or if I need an ingredient or two for a recipe. This is definitely not my go-to grocery for my weekly shopping run.
