A nice alternative to the generic stuff at Plaza Tapatia. The vibe here is very working class and the food is genuine, with a good selection of taco options (and Mexican Coke). Don't count on diet options though.

Rosita's is a warm, welcoming, and modest Mexican restaurant. I was visiting from out of town and decided to eat there. My waiter was very friendly and helped me to understand some of the menu choices unfamiliar to me. I ended up having and enjoying gorditas for the first time. They were tasty and filling. I enjoyed the pork version and loved the sausage type. They went down well with a Corona after chips with a spicy green salsa.

I've been here a couple times for lunch so have only seen the lunch menu, but the food is authentic and easy on the budget, and the service is friendly and helpful. I'm on a small fixed income but this is one place I can afford and enjoy. The food is a different style than other real Mexican I have enjoyed over many years in many places, and I love the variation -- to me it shows how really home-style it is. The only con is that there are few dishes safe for gluten-free diners. I have found, however, that once you get to know them, small family places will often go off-menu to give you what you need, and I plan ask on my next visit.

As far as Mexican goes, it's hard to mess up. With that being said, the food was pretty good. The salsa they serve with their chips is homemade Verde sauce, very spicy. I had the slow cooked carnitas with rice and beans. This was good. But nothing fantastic. The waiter gave us free shrimp and fish tacos to try. Those were very good, although deep fried. I think they would be better, and less salty, if the seafood was grilled. My boyfriend loved it tho. I'm sort of a guacamole snob, and I'm not sure their guacamole is fresh, which is why I give this 3 stars. Service was great, waiter was very friendly. I'm not sure I would come here again, but my bf loved it.

Most authentic Mexican food in the area! They make the real deal chili rellanos if you order them on Fri for the weekend. Haven't had food this good since I moved here from So CA. Don't be swayed by the fact they are in a strip mall....awesome food and very friendly service.

It's a good thing that this place is not across the street from me. It's very likely that I would have taco Tuesdays every week and I would be a lot fatter. This place is the real deal. Yes it looks like a dive but the food is authentic, delicious, and fresh. Remember, this is not the Taco Bell American version of Mexican. It's not smothered in cheese and heavy sauce. You can tell the salsa is homemade and the meats are freshly grilled. Four tacos, fresh lime, fresh ingredients all for about $8.50. This place needs to be a lot more popular.

Having never been to Mexico, I can't say with certainty that the food is authentic but if it is, I want to go to there. I ordered #17 and a margarita... muy delicioso. Enjoyed every bite and sip and our server was great. Will be back soon!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
