I used Geppetto Catering for a military event and worked with Martina to personalize my reception menu for 50 people. Everything was fantastic, from the menu items to presentation. Martina was on site the entire time and ensured from set up to clean up that the event ran smoothly. I was very happy with the quality of food--the hummus and tapenade platters were exceptionally delicious. I brought in my own cake and the catering team cut it without any extra cost. Martina was a dream to work with and communicated very well the entire time while we planned, adjusted the menu and estimated numbers. The final price I paid was worth every penny, as the only thing I did for my reception was bring the cake and take home a small amount of leftovers (which Martina graciously packed for me). They came to our office park today with free wares in hopes of gaining some new customers. Food-wise, we totally would, and love that they are sustainable. Yay for not trashing the earth. Buuuut.... no thanks for being rude to potential customers!! With an audience, they were overly nice, sucking up to everyone in line. However, when we passed by later and noticed they were about to throw out their leftovers, we graciously offered to help by eating them. That's when the fangs came out! They were totally rude to us, and even rolled their eyes. They withheld plates and utensils, even though there were stacks left. We came back with our own plates to "clean up" the remaining food -- in the interest of sustainability, of course. We couldn't believe how mean they were!

Geppetto is wonderful to work with. My company does a sales blitz around Cherry Blossom Festival by delivering 1,000 pies to clients over the course of 3 days. There were multiple revisions on my end and Geppetto rolled with it. The pies were delicious and clients loved them. Your delivery staff is flexible and so kind. It was definitely no small undertaking to bake 1,000 pies and do it well. Geppetto knocked it out of the park and raised the bar. Shaina and Josh are thorough and I can't appreciate their partnership enough! Highly recommend!!

I bid on a dinner for 12 from Geppettos at a charity auction. I set my dinner party for a Saturday evening. The food was delivered to my door on the Friday morning before my dinner party, all with complete reheating instructions. I was very leery, but to my surprise, everything was amazing! The steak was tender with a red center, even after reheating! The crab cakes great, the vegetables ( zucchini and carrots) were crisp and fresh. The salad was full of greens, tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, with a wonderful citrus vinegarette, everything was so fresh. the rolls were soft and it even included butter...plus a wonderful fruit tart for dessert! The staff were knowledgeable and the delivery was exactly on time! I can't rave enough about our entire experience! I highly recommend Geppettos Catering for any event.

We held our first-ever board dinner at our office in our conference center. I consider my usual caterers "lunch" caterers; I wanted a couple of notches above that. I had seen Geppetto ads in my boss's publications, and I've seen their truck in our parking lot. I had my heart set on kebabs, and I found them on Geppetto's menu. Shaina was accommodating and provided good customer service. She offered to lend me some china bowls and platters vs. all disposable. When the driver came to set up, he approached me right at 5 pm and di a nice job setting up. The food was delicious and mind you, we were 45 minutes late starting - but the beef on the kebabs was tender, not overdone, and the rice held up - wasn't sticky at all, and the herbed mushrooms were full of flavor as was the assorted dinner rolls - some had rosemary baked into them. They had several unique salads to choose from, and the assorted cake slices for desert were a hit. My boss was pleased, and Geppetto's really helped me pull off the kind of meal and atmosphere we were hoping for. I will definitely order from them again.

My company has used Geppetto several times and while the customer service we have always experienced was wonderful, quite frankly, the food just isn't that good. The food is just super bland. I thought it was me but all of the massive amounts of left overs every time should have been a clue. I asked several of our employees after the last catering with them and none of them really cared for the food. They didn't hate it but for sure didn't love it. With their prices being a lot higher than most catering companies in DC and our employees not loving the food, we won't be using them again. It's a shame really because I love what Geppetto stands for with the local produce and bio-degrade plates, forks etc. They just really need to step up their food.

The egg and vegetable frittatas had no flavor, the roasted potatoes were very bland, and the sausages were very average. Several folks likened our meal to hospital food, and nobody finished their plate. We had a ton of waste because nobody wanted leftovers.

Geppetto catered a fabulous event at the Phillips Collection following the Philip Glass benefit concert for FreshFarm Markets and The Phillips Collection. They provided a beautifully conceived vegetarian menu, locally sourced and nicely presented. The potato pancakes with red wine poached diced pear and a dollop of creme fraiche were divine.The Gorgonzola and fig tarts delicious and the Acorn Squash soup shooter was perfect for a chilly fall day. It is not only the wonderful food that we enjoy but the helpful, hard working staff that pamper us at each event. They are very conscientious about maintaining their brand as a "Green Caterer". Bottles are separated and recycled, biodegradable cups, plates and cornstarch cutlery are offered. I especially like the bamboo plates and forks that they use on some of our Board of Directors meetings. I asked them to come up with a Russian menu for one of the Phillips after 5 events. They made blinis from scratch and a delicious Russian eggplant dip that was so tasty that I ask for it on all my events. Check out the French Bistro fare that they are offering at this weeks, Thursday October 6, Phillips after 5 in celebration of the opening of Degas:Dancers at the Barre. You won't be disappointed!
