I could use a lot more Pho in my life. After eating here last night, I know where I'm going to get it! My husband has been sick the last couple of days and I just knew he needed a big bowl of Pho to help him feel better. This restaurant is located between coldstone and Starbucks in the shopping center just off of rt. one. There is tons of parking and you won't have a problem finding a spot. There were 10 or so people dinning in this little place when we walked in. We were immediately greeted and the staff gestured for us to pick any table we chose. The tables and chairs were all clean and equipped with plenty of utensils, sauces, napkins, etc. We looked over our menu and this being my husband's first Pho experience I was happy to help him navigate. The front page is all about the Pho and the back page has drinks and a small selection of Vietnamese dishes. I went with the eye round steak and well done brisket in a small bowl. My hubby chose the flank steak and brisket in a large bowl without onions. The waiter brought us our waters and with in 5 min our dinner was served! Steaming hot, smelling wonderful, full of meat, cilantro, onions, scallions and of course noodles! We added our hot sauce and dug in! The bean sprouts, lime, and mint served with it were fresh and added great texture and flavor to already delicious broth. We ate and ate and ate and ate! My husband couldn't have been more satisfied with his meal. He's hesitant to try new foods and this was a big win! We left full for only $15 and didn't feel weighed down at all like some meals. Oh, thank you Pho Saigon 54! A few side notes: bathrooms are small and not that clean (from what my husband tells me), I would love to see a side of steamed veggies or a salad or some type of vegetable for those of us who keep track of our diet, and its hard to pass up coldstone next door or a milkshake from chick-fila (also in the shopping center). Just warning you!

This was my first time eating Vietnamese food. I had the Grilled Chicken Bun(boon) dish and it was delicious. I will definitely visit again to try something else.

We stopped here a couple of months ago for something different. I had never eaten Vietnamese food. Ordered spring rolls and when they came out I had a moment of shock because I had a vision of fried spring rolls. They were really yummy and I would recommend. I can't even tell you what the name of what I ordered was. It was noodles and shrimp with some various veggies with some sauce on the side, and it was delish. Other uses have posted pix, which I regret that I did not take. There is a photo of soup that another patron had that came with plate of fresh veggies and herbs to add as you wish that I plan to try for a future visit when in the area. The service was very friendly, it was a bit small inside. And I almost forgot the yummy mango bubble tea. Very good, indeed.

I would love to give Pho Saigon a 5 star because it really is my favorite place to go for Pho and well, just about anything these days! I haven't been to many pho places though so I wouldn't want to mislead any serious connoisseurs with my review! In all, I absolutely adore this place and would recommend it to everyone! I live over 30 minutes away and drive there at least once a week to get it. The first meal I had after spending a month in Nepal trekking Mt. Everest was Pho! It was the main thing I craved and couldn't wait to have!

Not too bad, not too good. I ordered chicken pho for carryout. The lady that took my order was very rude, but I was tires and didn't feel like going anywhere else so I placed my order anyway. The pho itself was okay, but not overly flavorful. The chicken also seemed a little over processed for my liking. It almost seemed like deli meat.

I absolutely love this restaurant. My family and I will only go to this Vietnamese Restaurant in Maryland. Otherwise, we just cook at home because we've been to numerous pho places and they do not meet our standards. The staff is very professional and nice. They are very attentive and tend to your needs. The boss goes around and greets the customers which is nice because you feel welcomed and at home. I highly recommend the chicken wings. They are to die for. The Bun Bo Hue is good if you want you try another soup other than pho. The different soups come with lots of veggies! My favorite drink is the avocado smoothie. Their smoothies are made of real fruits which is awesome because I know some places uses mix powder for their drinks. Definitely come and check out this restaurant. Highly recommended!

UMBC DISCOUNT = 10% OFF! You just gotta present your red ID! I can always count on some good pho when I go, and I love their vermicellis. Their rolls are better than other places I've tried. The staff is always so nice and accommodating, they're always happy to help and move very fast, which I like.

Good, but not great, broth. Cow bits for the soup are acceptable, and the fixins are fresh. The place is kept very clean, and the service is quick and efficient. The bun (rice vermicelli, sprouts, and lettuce with grilled meat) is also pretty tasty. They now accept that this very Caucasian guy will actually eat all the odd beef parts without getting all weirded out. Bonus points that make it even more worthwhile for a lunch trip from the office - the owner's cute and cleavage-y, and enjoys low-cut tops.

I have come here on multiple occasions to meet my mom and her boyfriend (whom lives in the area) for dinner. And I have to say each time has been decent-good. The soup can be a little bland sometimes, and skimpy on the meat. The grilled Shrimp vermicelli was good - I thought. The summer rolls are my favorite, and I order them at EVERY Vietnamese restaurant. I have to say here, they are decent. I actually came in during downtime for take out. All I ordered was two orders of the summer rolls. Why did it take them 45 minutes? When I went to tell the store owner that I no longer wanted them, and that the whole reason I ordered the rolls was because I was on a time restraint. She told me to sit down, and that it was coming out. An additional 15 minutes passed, and they still hadn't brought me my rolls. As I walked out, and decided to let her keep the money she yelled at me to come back in because they were ready. Had me stand at the counter for another 5 minutes and told me that it took so long because unlike other restaurants they are made to order. I nodded, let her talk about her business, grabbed them once they were ready and ran out. On top of being made late to be somewhere, they were not even made correctly. I had requested no pork, and instead got no shrimp. Really?

"Dirty, slow, and poor quality meat in the pho. The rice noodles were one big clump of goo. It was packed for lunch though...so I got the waitress' table. Had her coat on the back of it, and cigarette ashes and other debris all over it. Just plain disgusting."

Ok, so when I first moved to the DMV area my boyfriend was all about introducing me to different food. We went here one day and it has became one of my favorites!!!! The food is wonderful! I have visit other locations and I am just not a fan, if its not from here I am not eating it. I can agree with some others the girl that works there does have a little attitude but she is really nice once you get to know her. The lady who cooks the food is a very nice lady she is very sweet. The food is good I always order the same thing which is a number 25 but my boyfriend orders other items off the menu and he loves it as well. If you have never tried Vietnamese food this would be a great place to start.

This is by far my favorite pho within a 15 mile radius. Usually worth the 30min drive!!! Except they have weird hours, and are closed often. Good service, and very tasty tasty broth.

Don't get me wrong I love Pho. all the dishes are so delicious. But if your looking for a wide variety to choose from, you wont find it here. And sometimes, well half of the time the main lady who take orders and payments can seem really rude. But im from NY so no offense taken. she's really sweet after a while. I love their shrimp vermacilli dish. I love it overall, and will continue to come back.

Love this place. Everyone has different tastes but for me, this place has the best vermicelli bowl. It's quite large, filling, has a great tasting mix of cucumber slices, noodles, a ton of delicious chicken, hints of basil, and good amount of sprouts. The sauce is on the side, which I appreciate so you can use it to taste. If you're still awful at using chopsticks like me, no worries. They leave chopsticks and forks at the table for your convenience. Food is quick and delicious and $8.95 per chicken bowl. Shrimp is a bit higher at $9.95. They don't have an extensive menu but serve either pho, vermicelli, or rice dishes: a plate of meat, white rice and veggies, along with an assortment of teas, coffees and bubble teas. For two people and a coffee our bill was about $21. Please note you pay at the counter when you're done. They had a variety of table sizes so a party of six would not be a problem. Place was quick and delicious, definitely recommend it.

Average quality pho. Good for if you want a quick cheap meal. The large size portion was decently filling amount and it came out fresh and hot. They also gave a great helping of brisket, which is a huge plus for me. The cons were the sweetness in the broth and the clumpiness of the rice noodles. Thai tea was also nice and sweet. Refreshingly cool after a hot meal. Our waitress was very friendly, which reflected in her service

First time eating here and boy was I satisfied!! Things I loved about this place: 1. The Pho was magnificent. The chicken was tender and the broth was delicious. I got a regular size bowl and felt like I could eat some more if it was in front of me (that never happens lol). I will definitely have it again! 2. The young coconut juice was great. Served over ice and lots of coconut meat. Very refreshing! 3. The bubble drink looked great and was devoured by the kids. 4. The prices!!! The icing on the cake was the affordable prices. Everything was extremely affordable! I love coconut juice and usually pay over $4 for it. I've never really complained because I love it and feel it's worth it but to my surprise it was under $3 here. Yes please!!!

Great service, older lady really took the time to make sure my order was put together well. Love the mango bubble tea! Yummy! Can not go wrong with noodle soup and great service.

I really used to like this place. I forgot why I stopped going until today. Always get the same shrimp vermicelli and summer roll no pork. Now I was pretty sure up until today they replaced my no pork request with tofu which is fine. I order mid day 3pm. Pick up order. Price seemed a little high $15 for two items but whatever. Go to grocery store run a few errands. Get home prepare to eat my food and look at summer rolls and there is pork in there. Ok no problem I can just take it out? Not quite it. In order to take it out I have to peel it off the wrapper and doing that the wrapper and all of its contents fall out...no longer a roll. Ok so I can just eat it out of the container, cool. I look at the shrimp and the shrimp have not been cleaned!!!!!!!!!! At this point I don't want the other roll either. Luckily I still have my shrimp vermicelli. Prepare half of that and get ready to eat and the shrimp in there have not been cleaned (vein....removed). This is probably the day I stop eating shrimp. Place that I eat and shrimp that I cook are deveined. I call to let them know the teenage boy that took my order should be more attentive and not eating his food at he counter when he takes an order..... Their response "we will let him know." So at this point I realize that this is not a place I will be returning to and they lack basic customer service. It did not dawn on me until I read another review as to why my bill was so high. They charge for carry out $1. Being the patron that I am I tip on carry out. So I basically paid for bad food, service, and sanitation. I should have just drove the distance to get the Ethiopian food that I wanted. Save your money don't eat here. Of the 10 shrimp I had 3 were deveined. I HATE to waste food. I ate less than 1/4 of my food. The rest went in the trash.

Ok here we go I'm so mad that I can't even express my anger. Ok you charge me 5.04$ for a small Thai tea that's fine no problem you give me attitude no problem maybe you are having a bad day....but came to find out that minimum is 10$ I told them I'm sorry I don't have cash so the old men from Vietnam and his wife just stares at me like how dare you not have cash... Offers to accept my debit card but guess what doesn't put no bubbles no ice no skim milk and all that is happening right Infront of me. Now I do not understand why is this place in USA still in business and I don't get the fact that it still has 3.5 stars you must be fucking kidding me. Avoid this place and go to sardis!!!

Pretty average. Ordered Pho Dac Biet (special combination) at 8:00pm on a Wednesday. The broth was missing a stronger flavor, it was okay, not great. Meat slices were too thin and the tendons (gan) were not soft enough. Service was bad. The waitress was on her phone entire time and was not attentive at all. I watched her serve other customers with one hand and another hand texting. She made no eye contact and kept her eyes glued to her screen.

One of my co-workers introduced me to this place. She actually brought it to the office one day for lunch... It was absolutely one of the best Pho experiences I have had, so I had to pay them a visit. I finally made it out there Presidents Day... There must have been something going on with the heat because it was a bit cold, but it didn't stop people from ordering and sitting in to eat. I ordered a large #4 (I like mine with everything) and an order of Spring Rolls. Not only was everything really good, it was truly enough food for three people. The next time I'm in their area I will be stopping by & you should too.

I am a fan of pho. It is such a good combo of fresh ingredients. It is completely customizable to your tastes so it is good for everyone. Now, there are pho places that are so- so and then there are places that really do it right. This is one of the later. Everything is fresh, the broth is amazing, and the meat has just enough fat for flavor. I knocked off 1 star because the service is always slow. It is still friendly.

Would be great if i would have stopped getting HAIR in my food....3 times!!!!! For this reason 1 star...sanitation is EVERYTHING!

Wonderful place! i wish i knew names because i would praise the elder female that greets my wife and i with a huge warm smile each and everytime we stop in for dinner. We have our usual pho and pork W/ rice and it's simply amazing. Relaxing atmosphere where you can unwind and savour your dish without feeling as if your presence is an albatross. The staff is sweet, professional and courteous. Combine those 3 traits with their delicious menu and you have a recipe for a winner.

The best pho place in the area . The food is great and tasty , big portions , even when I order a small bowl I never get to finish it . Their rolls are tasty and that sauce they come with is delicious too . Also I tried the mango bubble tea and it was very good About the service overall is good , I have noticed that the older guys ( one that has his arm covered in tattoos ) are more attentive than the younger folks (a skinny tall guy , and the young lady that sometimes is there) but as long as they get my order right and quick it doesn't really bother me . I always order my spring rolls, small number 15 and a soda and my total comes up To $11. Pretty good price for me . Try this place is worth it !

Food is decent for an area devoid of other true ethnic eateries, but I think Beltsville has much better pho. There's nothing wrong with the pho, maybe a little less flavor than at Pho VN One. Their grilled chicken with vermicelli is pretty good - I get takeout to eat back at my office. This place is packed on the weekdays during lunch, full of office workers, so service can be excruciatingly slow at those times.

  • Katherine B.

My favorite pho place in the area, broth is perfect, meat appears to be fresh. My son gets the chicken and rice which is pretty good. Prices are great. You really can;t beat this place, service is hit or miss but def worth it. BTW I've literally tried every pho place in the area.

  • Brooke L.

Never order take-out! You have to cook the broth yourself. I had no idea what to do. I called back and asked but they didn't speak understandable English for me to figure out how to cook the broth. They should print out the directions to put in their to-go orders.

This place is great!! The Pho and the spring rolls are the best!! Oh and I almost forgot they make the best avocado smoothies!!

    (5)
  • Lena K.

I used to love this place minus the slow service since the food was sooo good. The last few times were very disappointing though. The pho broth tastes very watered down. What a blower. And I always order the grilled chicken and beef and I'm pretty sure they use lots of MSG to flavor their food which isn't good.

  • R S.

Food always arrives anyways.... Don't come here if you are in a rush....you will get served no matter what. I never have issues with the slow service. (only when busy) Its a PHO place with a 5 star soup. Not a high class resto...with a 5 star service. (nice family run place) Pho is the best...in town. Clean, tasty, fresh.... Your there for the food not to be entertained..... Tho the best PHO are in VIRGinia. Pho Saigon 54 is the best soup in LAUREL. If you have bad experience here then go my second choice - Pho VN One- not far from here and compare the service ? Also try Pho 88 and wait for service ? :)

I am a fan of Vietnamese food ! However it's because I came to this place. I didn't order the Pho but I will next time. I ordered chicken and rice with a half of Avocado. I loved the soup on the side. The service was fast and when I went everyone was friendly. I wish they had delivery. I do suggest come with a buddy so you guys can try different meals.

The food is okay, but I was blindsided today when I ordered a couple meals to go and after questioning the total, was informed of a 50 cent charge for ordering to-go. Seriously? I have never had to pay extra for to-go orders. I questioned the charge, asked if it was related to needing a bag or such and was just dismissed. "It's just a to-go charge." Oh, it was not just 50 cents for the order, it was 50 cent for each meal -- so an extra $1 in hidden fees that was not noted before my card was charged (it's not printed on the menu, receipt or anywhere that I could see from the counter.) Even if it was due to the bag, to-go boxes etc., it was way out of line. The crates weren't even biodegradable or environmentally friendly -- they were cheap styrofoam crates with plastic spoons. So they cost the owner maybe 5-10 cents? And they charge 50 cents, when no other restaurants charges at all? So, likely never going there again. Grow up and just build your costs into your prices and stop nickle-and-diming your customers. It's cheap and offensive, and you've lost a customer over it.

4.5, only because the water, although garnished with a lime, taste like dirt. Other than that, this place has the Best broth of any Pho place I have ever been to.

Really great Pho. But our service was awful. The waitress remained on her personal phone while she took our order, and then throughout other guests' interactions. Put the phone down, then deal with customers.

The broth was sweeter than I'm used to. Will have to try it again to be able to post a better review.

The two stars were for the eggrolls only. They were good. The service is very slow for what I ordered. I got a take out pho with eye round steak. I live an hour away so once I got home and my family was ready to dig in, to our surprise the steak was raw. I called back and she said that this steak cooks in the broth. I said, ok, kinda like the melting pot. I reheated the broth to make sure it was piping hot and I put the steak in there and I ended up with a huge soup of blood. It was disgusting and I couldn't eat it or feed it to my family so in the garbage it went. I was disappointed because I had spent my money and we had to make a sandwich for dinner. Also, I get pho all the time at another Pho Restaurant who cooks the steak for me and it is always delicious and tender. I should have stuck with them. Lesson learned. If I wanted to cook my own food and wait 30 mins for it, I would have just cooked at home. I won't be going back to this place.

We eat here about once a week. The place is impeccably clean, the portions just right, the servers friendly. It's a new restaurant, and it's not lost its sheen yet- they're keeping it up nicely. My favorites are the Tai, or the Grilled Chicken (or pork) over rice (back side of the menu). I can't tell you how authentic it may be. I can just tell you that, of all the Pho restaurants around (bowls of broth with noodles, you pick the meat), I really prefer this one head and shoulders over the others. We've been pestering the others for a table outside or two for summertime. That way, we could bring our dog! The place is right next to a Starbucks. Kind of funny, because in a lot of ways, they're opposites. Go. Enjoy.

This little Vietnamese place is tuck in a big shopping center with a lot of chain restaurants around it. Since I haven't try any Vietnamese food during my business trip in the Maryland/DC area, I decided to come here. The deco was typical of a small mom and pop's place. The service was quick and friendly. The price is very affordable. The food, however, is just decent. I had #24 (grilled pork w/vermicelli & vegetables). The grilled pork was slightly over cooked but the flavor was still good. The sauce for the vermicelli was blend and probably needed a little more fish sauce. I would recommended this place for a quick meal but don't expect to be blown away by the food.

I honestly cannot understand why the young Asian girl that works there is so! So!! So!!! Rude. I went there with my family 01/15/2013 and she tried ushing us to a table for 6 in the middle while be preferred the table for 6 at the corner. I asked her what the difference was and that we preferred the one at the corner cause of my little 6yrs old with his trouble and I did not want to allow him bother anybody while eating,. I explained all this to the rude silly girl and she was terribly rude and quite unfriendly about it considering the fact that my family and I have been visiting this place for over 2 years now and a very regular customer. It is really had to imagine how rude she is and I will never visit this place again cause I simply cannot condole rude attitude especially when spending my money and I have my family with me. Please watch out for her. She will definitely show u her real colors within a couple of visits there if not the very first one. Her mother who I believe owns the place is really nice but I still have moved on . RUDE! RUDE!! RUDE!!!!!!!!

Pho Shizzle! I love this place! Everything is delicious. I live in Lanham and make the trip as often as possible. Only thing I dont like... One of the owners is a woman who is not only hard of hearing, but does not speak very good English, so it is hard and frustrating to place your order with her. Also, there is a younger girl (20's) working there who is either always on the phone (while ringing you up) and/or is seems very rushed and uninterested when taking your order. But it's worth it, because the food is SO good. The rest of the staff is awesome, even the bus boy who is very nice and kind.

The broth is the best I have ever had. I can always count on getting an amazing bowl of Pho. Very consistent service and a great value as well. I would highly recommend eating here.

    (5)
  • Chanin N.

The pho is mediocre -- the broth is excellent, but the noodles were dumped in the soup straight out of the package (without care), and the meat was very fatty and didn't have any flavor. The bubble tea here is excellent! That's why people come here ... For the bubble tea! Service was ok. Cleanliness is below average. I wasn't sure if I was eating in the dining area or the storage area (like a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in a big city).

I just left this place and I am so turned off by the service that I will never return again, which is sad because the food was good. The restaurant is basic, like a carry-out type environment. The waitress, who I guess is the owner, was rude from the start. I haven't had pho in a while so I asked for her recommendation and she was not really helpful at all. In fact it was like she was trying to belittle my mom for asking a question about the size of the soup. The waitress nearly threw the items down on the table when she brought them out. Maybe she hates her customers or something because that is surely how she acted. Oh and you can barely have a conversation because the blender is so loud and it's right there by all the tables. The tea was just disgusting. The #15 beef pho was delicious and I also ordered a #21 chicken with rice to try it and it was also delicious. My friend and her son along with my mom were all very pleased with the food but the service was BEYOND RUDE. My friend's son ordered the "coconut water" which is really a cup of water with a piece of coconut in it and he didn't like it. So when the waitress came back I let her know he did not like the coconut water and her response was "what do you want me to do? Pour it back in there?" I was stunned. Most places would offer him something else to drink or just take it off the bill since he did not drink it. Instead she pointed to a sign at the door and said "Those are MY RULES" and walked away while I was still talking. I am still stunned becaused I have NEVER been treated like that as a customer in a restaurant. I can see what the other reviews say about the service now. Completely unacceptable, and I am usually a very understanding person. I live right down the street and would have loved to be a regular customer because I enjoyed the food but I will never step foot in there again and be treated like that. The owner/waitress needs to get a grip and fix her horrible attitude.

My first post of this place was positive and uplifting.....not this one. After eating here today for the final time. I have made the executive decision not to go back. My first visit I mentioned to the owner that I found her restaurant based on my yelp search, she then informed me with a coy smile not to pay any attention to the previous posts from men who think she's hot.....what's that got to with your Pho? Today I brought 2 colleagues with me and it was their first time having Pho. One young lady is new to the U.S. from China and she thought that it was delicious. We ordered extra bean sprouts and extra lime and chowed down on our soup. Imagine my surprise when the owner asked me who to charge the extra bean sprouts and lime to......I looked at her in shock as I said, "Is that on the menu?" and she replied, "Of course it's not on the menu!" I didn't go off on her like I REALLY wanted to but just paid the $1 for the extras. Don't worry honey, stick with the males who think your hot cuz I won't be back to support your rude business, I'm not accustomed to paying for extras when there's nothing saying that I have to.

Going to up it to 4 stars b/c it's the only place with good balls (tapioca that is) in Laurel. And as you know, good balls deserve a star. In fact, the only other place that has decent bubble tea is Jasmine Smoothie World in Columbia Mall. With so many Asians in HoCo, you'd figure there'd be some good bubble tea. *shrug* Other notable notes that I myself have duly noted: 1) pho ga is actually quite good, which is saying something b/c ppl poke fun that only Americans order pho ga. You can get a combo of white and dark meat 2) jalapenos are still really spicy - like damage your tastebuds, spicy. Like burn on the way in and way out, spicy (this has been scientifically tested on the throne of Kim Family Labs). Like UB40, and gonna make you sweat, spicy. You get the point. 3) The hoison sauce has improved 4) In the proud tradition of Asian restaurateurs, the owners use their store as a place for all kinds of chores in plain sight, e.g., place for kids to work/study, place to wrap gifts, etc... 5) Bubble tea ($3.50) was good - the strawberry smoothie tastes like strawberries and not that strawberry sauce stuff, and the coconut was good as well. The fact that they take credit cards and the great balls vaunts this place over Pho VN One as my favorite pho close to home. Krilin (from Pho Real), you're cute and all, but I wish you'd take credit.

Great service. The pho is always good, sometimes the rice dishes are inconsistent in the way the meat is prepared. Try the guacamole bubble tea.

I've been to several pho places in the DMV and this is easily my favorite. I'm originally from So Cal so I'm extremely familiar with good pho since Little Saigon was only a few miles from my house. The broth was simple and flavorful. For me, there was no need to add sriracha or hoisin sauce and I just enjoyed my regular-sized bowl as is. The meat portion in my pho tai was perfect for me but I can see how some people may think it's too small. The service was prompt and the prices were reasonable. I'll be going back for sure!

They do NOT open on Sundays - please note this. Pho is okay (bland) but their grilled beef with vermicelli and vegetables is fantastic, which makes up for the lost star with the pho. Summer rolls are also a joy and they used real avocado for their bubble smoothies the last time I went. Not too many good Vietnamese places near Howard/Arundel :(

This will be my first time trying pho. I walked in and a child was at the counter Playing video games as children do. No one acknowledged me and my mother. We had to speak up. Their menu is great though, although they only have two "appetizers" spring and egg rolls. I got the Thai tea with boba as pho ga thap cam which is a combo with white and dark meat. The Thai tea has a very strong milky taste but definitely worth the $4.25. The young woman working was a little rude but then i realized she was pregnant and left to look after a young chiild so i wouldve been annoyed myself. anyway the pho is amazing! i enjoyed it so much that i went back the next day! The next day i went i got the same pho and the dark meat a LOT i mean a LOT of fat but it was still very appetizing. and i got the spring rolls. Which i had never tried before.. lol lets just say they're still in my refridgerator. But overall i LOVE this place and will definitely be bringing my friends next time

The Pho was somewhat bland and left a funny aftertaste. It tasted like they may have dumped in a can of chicken or beef broth. The summer rolls were 95% rice noodle with barely any lettuce, herbs, shrimp or pork. My waitress was a conceited little snob who thought she was "all that". Attitude problem and a big ego as if she was too good to be waiting tables. If you want decent Pho near Laurel, head down to Pho 88 or Pho VN One. If you want really good Pho, then you head to Pho 75 in Falls Church, VA. Better service as well. Pho Saigon 54 is a waste of time and money.

This was my first experience with Pho. The location is good. We walked in the front door to find a plastic rocking horse guarding the way. I'm not sure how it happened as the place seemed pretty hoppin' and there is only one door. The decor inside is pretty typical of a hole in the wall. It's cozy and quaint with deep burgundy walls and dark wood tables. The smell wafting through the air is delightful - a combination of mint and wonderful. We chose our carry-out order from the menu (small #17 and #26) and were invited to sit down while we waited. Shark Tank was playing on a tv behind the counter. The Employees Only kitchen doors were open and an older man was picking through some vegetables. Another girl came in to pick up her order, part of which involved an amazing looking smoothie (blueberry, maybe?). I might have to go back and try that some time. After about 10-15 minutes our food was ready. The waiter brought our to go bags over to us (I was impressed). The food was pretty good - I think if the soup for the pho had been hotter it might have been better (maybe next time we'll eat in). Overall the flavor was really good, I was able to customize the bowl exactly how I wanted it, and the ingredients were good quality. Will definitely be visiting this place again!

This place if very nice and clean. Like other pho places, the food is served right away so you don't have to wait long before eating. Great place to go if you're really hungry and you want a quick bite that's not exactly fast food. I only gave it 3 stars because the broth for my pho soup seemed to be missing something. Maybe it was a little bland, and a hint of sweetness. Not the savory type of broth that I love from pho. But on the upside, my soup did have lots of meat, which is always a plus. My girlfriend and I also ordered the shrimp rolls which were kind of dry even with the sauce. It didn't seem as fresh as other ones I've tasted. But it wasn't bad at all. In any case, this is a good place to just sit and catch up. They didn't really bother us too much and let us stay and talk as long as we wanted to which was really nice. So it's ok. Not the best, but not the worst pho I've ever been to. (oh and they take credit cards, but your order has to be more than $10)

Awesome!! Usually eat pho in Columbia, but this place is incredible!! If you love Pho you need to check this place out. The menu is delightfully small, carrying ONLY Vietnamese dishes, not those psuedo-chinese dishes thrown on a menu to satisfy picky American diners.

Young woman (small baby bump) RUDE RUDE RUDE as one reviewer wrote she said she thought she was 'hot' NOT... weird drawn on eyebrows looked like worse than Jerry Seinfeld's uncle Leo! First time there tonight & food was okay - soup could definitely needs to be hotter, luke warm. My daughter lives very close and liked the chicken dish #21 and said she would be a regular ... until ... my daughter's friends 5 year old son asked for juice. The rude woman said she had no juice, coconut water or smoothie. He asked for the coconut water. It was a glass of iced water with chunks of coconut in it. He made a face when he sipped it. We informed Miss Rude that he did not like the 'cocunut water' and she snapped back 'what do you want me to do pour it back?! I cannot pour it back, it's in a big container" My daughter said 'but he didn't like it' and once again she snapped back and pointed to the door 'my rules are right there' -- we thought first of all , what horrible rudeness and what is this a prison with rules? We won't ever step foot back in that place and it's a shame as my daughter would have been a weekly regular! Let's find another place where the owners are not so rude and rushed like they really don't give a darn!

I've been here about 6 times. I like it and my Vietnamese wife does too and that says a lot because she is picky about Vietnamese food. I recommend the grilled shrimp and an avocado smoothie without bubbles or cafe sua da (iced coffee) if you need a lift.

Small family run business. Fantasic Pho! Use to work near this place and stop by when I can and they still remember me. I generally order the Shrimp spring rolls with the peanut sauce. They have 3-4 pieces of shrimp, thinly sliced pork, vermicelli noodles, thai basil, and green onion wrapped in rice paper. Also #17 (small or large bowl) is my fav. White meat chicken in a delicious homemade broth with noodles, onions, and cilantro. On the side - bean sprouts, thai basil, jalepeno and lime. I have tried other Pho restaurants in Annapolis and Crofton and this one Hands Down beats them all. The grilled dishes over rice or vermicelli noodles are fantastic. Ask for a fried egg on top. Avoid the meatballs - spongy. The jasmine ice tea and bubble tea's are great as well. Highly recommend!

Overall, the pho I ordered tasted good but it wasn't the best I've had. The large was very filling so if you aren't starving, you would probably be okay with a small bowl of pho. Be careful with the jalepenos because I almost burned my mouth off when I ate one! Attentive service was definitely lacking especially if I would have wanted a refill on water or something else to cool my mouth after adding too many jalepenos to my pho! Overall, it was a nice experience. Just not too wow-ed overall.

I think this Pho place has the best broth in the area. The hot tea is also very tasty. The tea has some sort of rose flavor that is very unique and special. I think this place is a step above the rest.

I've been looking for a good Vietnamese restaurant since my favorite haunt closed in Rockville about 3 years ago. I will definitely be back! I ordered the grilled pork dish with Rice and salad. The pork was seasoned to perfection and the portion sizes were great. Next time, I'll try the Pho!

This is the worst food I tried in years. The egg rolls were overcooked with hard mushrooms. Hard mushrooms? Yes, inedible. The cashier's s fingers were disgusting. The waiter was fine but the servers are dingy and don't speak English. The salad was a slice iceburg lettuce with about five shreds of carrot. The fish sauce taste like rotten fish. Seriously, if you have any standards, avoid this place.

Good Pho. Served quickly and hot. Veggies were fresh and crisp. soup was a little bland, but this is solved w/ the hoisin sauce and some chilli sauce. all in all it was a good spot.

Pho place of choice for my mom, so she craves this stuff. I'm not that big of a fan of pho in general, but when I do want it this is the place we go. It's pretty good, great staff and the service is very quick and efficient. I love their spring rolls, and they have pretty good bubble tea.

so every now and then the hubby and I like to have some pho and the time has come especially when I start to feel under the weather. There's nothing like some pho soup to fulfill the taste buds. we've been coming to this particular location since they opened, not on a regular basis but whenever we feel the need for some pho. we like this place although small they still satisfy our cravings when needed. in particular, we like the peanut sauce they serve with the spring rolls. It's just the right consistency and the taste is just right. my hubby likes their bbq chicken or beef with rice...it's alright for me but it's a LOT of rice with the meat. As for the soup, it tastes just like any other. I'm quite happy with it. But the the bean sprout plate that comes with it is always a waste when they serve it to me cause i always leave it untouched. The ambiance is acceptable. I mean for a small place I can't complain. Whenever we come we never have to wait for a table and the food comes pretty quickly. The only thing is there's only one main waitress so sometimes the refills on drinks takes awhile and whenever you order the fruit shakes it never comes early. Sometimes it comes after the meal has already been served which i find a bit disappointing but it's not like I order the fruit shakes all the time, lol! A plus for this pho place is that they take CC. Most pho places only take cash but we like it here since we're not always cash ready whenever we feel like pho. overall, we like this pho place. it's a come backer for us.

We love this place. The business is family owned and everyone is so friendly. The food is fantastic. I usually get the chicken pho and my husband gets the pork or chicken rice dish. We have never been disappointed. We also get the egg rolls which are very tasty. I've had the bubble tea and they use real fruit not powder like some other places. The prices are low, service is fast, and the restaurant is very clean.

I had the day all planned out. Go eat pho at this new restaurant I found on Yelp (thanks, Su K.!), go get my face done, see a movie in Tysons, and go eat dinner at Oegadgib in Annandale. The day didn't go quite as smoothly as that but those reviews are to come. The place was easy enough to find given that my GPS in my sucky car didn't pick it up. I had to call for direction. The lady on the phone goes, "we are on Route 1 by Contee Rd." -Where is Contee Rd? "It's by Route 1." OING??? If you are interested, the place is on the same side as Marlo Furniture on Route 1, one shopping center over. It shares the same building as Starbucks. The place is tiny. Maybe 9 tables or so with biggest table accommodating 6 people. Interior is nice for a pho place though. (you know what would be a nice name for a pho restaurant? - "Pho Real Dough" - I thought of that b4 Pho Real opened... shucks...) The service was tad slow but with four people running the whole joint, I thought I'd give them some slack. This particular day the place was filled to 85-90% capacity. BTW, the solution they use to wipe the tables is soooooooo strong. I was still eating when the table next to us vacated and as soon as he sprayed whatever it was in the bottle onto the table, I no longer tasted pho but antiseptic instead. YUCK. Oh well, at least you know they are keeping the place clean. We started off with Spring & Summer rolls (our staple appetizers) and spring rolls were actually really really good. Hot, fat and stuffed (the spring roll that is) and summer rolls actually had shrimps and meat on 'em rather than 99% vermicelli noodle affairs you see in other pho restaurants. The peanut sauces were thick and flavorful. My bf always ask for extra to dip EVERYTHING in. He even dips pho meat in it, ewwwww.... My bf had pho ga, I didn't realize he didn't know that pho ga existed. He got so excited, "Honey, they have CHICKEN pho~~~!!!" Oh, isn't he precious? I had #3 w/ extra meatball (extra $1.25). The meatballs were good (comparable to Pho 75 - I haven't been back there since I saw dried up cockroach on the bottom of hoisin sauce container but that's another review, another time) and def better than Pho Real's meatballs. I'm so glad I finally found a place that has good pho and that it's clean. I didn't think those two can exist in same dimension. This is now my default pho place and they are open till 9pm! Oh, happy day! (so far) Oh, yeah, I didn't read the part about their accepting credit cards so you could imagine my surprise when we got to the counter. We even went to an ATM beforehand for cash! Oh, happy day indeed! ----------------------------- ---------------------------------- -------------------------------- ---This apparently was my 50th review. Didn't even realize it *^^* --

During a business trip I ate here two nights in a row. I prefer the Pho #11 with a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade. I'm thinking about making it 3 nights in a row now. You get the Pho and the lemonade for $10. Come on! How much better can that be?! :)

The best Pho is Laurel area. The other noodle (Bun) and rice dishes are also great. They also have wonderful jasmine tea and bubble tea smoothie options. I go here twice a week.

This style of cuisine was not for me. It was way too much going on in my soup bowl. I had to use my fork, spoon and chop sticks to eat it. The server was very nice and informative about the dish. However, it lacked flavor (very bland) and the beef taste funny.

We've tried quite a few pho places in the area, but keep coming back to this one. The broth is tasty (and much to my delight has lots of cilantro put in it!), the portions are pretty decent, and the service might not be called great, but isn't horrible either (it helps that they're fast!). The decor is appropriate for this restaurant's "hole-in-the-wall" status and doesn't exactly give a great ambiance, but for the cheap prices and yummy food here, (I think a large bowl is ~$8) you can't really complain :) I agree with another reviewer's comment that the main waitress isn't exactly friendly, but she is nice once you get to know her a bit. Our one complaint about the food is that sometimes the broth isn't hot enough... Normally I wouldn't care too much, but when you've just ordered a soup where some of the meat is raw, I'd definitely like my soup hot enough to cook the meat before ingesting it! :) We've had to send our bowls back a couple times to ask them to warm up the broth further. One time the waitress commented that this is the temperature that everyone's broth is. If that's the case, I would say that that's an issue... Otherwise, no complaints!

"Dirty, slow, and poor quality meat in the pho. The rice noodles were one big clump of goo. It was packed for lunch though...so I got the waitress' table. Had her coat on the back of it, and cigarette ashes and other debris all over it. Just plain disgusting."

My favorite pho place in the area, broth is perfect, meat appears to be fresh. My son gets the chicken and rice which is pretty good. Prices are great. You really can;t beat this place, service is hit or miss but def worth it. BTW I've literally tried every pho place in the area.

Never order take-out! You have to cook the broth yourself. I had no idea what to do. I called back and asked but they didn't speak understandable English for me to figure out how to cook the broth. They should print out the directions to put in their to-go orders.

I used to love this place minus the slow service since the food was sooo good. The last few times were very disappointing though. The pho broth tastes very watered down. What a blower. And I always order the grilled chicken and beef and I'm pretty sure they use lots of MSG to flavor their food which isn't good.

Man I love this place, I used to live in laurel and go here all the time. Now that I live in Baltimore I still go out my way to eat here. Great food, healthy choice, never gets old.

Really?

  • Marl K.

Awesome!! Usually eat pho in Columbia, but this place is incredible!! If you love Pho you need to check this place out. The menu is delightfully small, carrying ONLY Vietnamese dishes, not those psuedo-chinese dishes thrown on a menu to satisfy picky American diners.

  • Jennifer H.

I recommend the grilled shrimp and an avocado smoothie without bubbles or cafe sua da (iced coffee) if you need a lift.

so every now and then the hubby and I like to have some pho and the time has come especially when I start to feel under the weather.

This style of cuisine was not for me. It was way too much going on in my soup bowl. I had to use my fork, spoon and chop sticks to eat it. The server was very nice and informative about the dish. However, it lacked flavor (very bland) and the beef taste funny.

Delicious and so filling! I love that they have more options than some pho places. Very, very good. Give it a try!
