If I could give negative stars, this place would have 15 of them. This review is from my experience from about a year ago. I know it's late, but, it took me this long to be able to compose myself and write comprehensibly. I was THAT pissed off that I couldn't even put my words together. I'm at Olive Garden, with the boyfriend, and ordered an entree that had broccoli as the side. I hate broccoli. So, I decided to substitute it with spinach. My meal comes out with broccoli. I tell the server that it was wrong and she says she'll go get my spinach. About 15 minutes go by...I'm eating slowly to save room for my spinach. Well, I noticed her walk up to the table but she didn't say anything. I continued to talk with my date and realized that what I saw, out of the corner of my eye....was her...still standing there. I look over and she has an empty plate in hand. She proceeded to tell me that the kitchen told her they would not send out my spinach unless I sent the broccoli back. Wait wait WAIT. So you mean to tell me that you want me to stop eating and literally scrape the food off of my (eaten off of) plate?!?! Are you @#$%%@ kidding me?!?! What the hell are you going to do with that broccoli???? You can't serve it to another customer so why on earth do you need it back. They still refused to send out my spinach. How did a simple substitution turn into a hostage situation?! Wow. Just wow. Pathetic. I finally got my spinach, long after I'd taken my last bite (Which was right about when they asked for the broccoli back, because I was revolted by the idea of where the rest of my food could have come from). I will NEVER eat here again....and I suggest you don't either. Lord knows whose plate your food was scraped off of. I don't care that this happened a year ago. They probably still do the same thing, now. Disgusting.

Oh, what was I thinking. I'm embarrassed to say I was at the OG, but I was. It had been a particularly long day of meetings with a co-worker and neither of us had the energy to rustle up a more presentable meal. I wish I'd taken a little more care. The food was less than mediocre and the server was just a little odd. Live, learn and put it on your expense report.

Apparently THIS Olive Garden didn't receive the recipes that all of the other Olive Garden's got. I don't know why the food is so.....bad, yeah that's the word to describe it, but it is. My favorite dish, Seafood Portofino.....they almost ruined it for me! But I'm a good Christian so I'll keep ordering it from the other restaurants....or better yet making it at home.

The food came out late and cold the services was not good at all very quick services and not personal at all the only good thing about the whole meal was the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake

C'mon people. It's the OLIVE GARDEN for chrissakes! It could NOT BE GOOD. If you've worked here, you know the food is delivered par-cooked in bags. They just shove that stuff in the microwave. You see, everything they serve at the Olive Garden has to taste like every other Olive Garden. There's no room for creativity, only consistently better-than-Chef-Boyardee caliber ameritalian junk food.

This was the worst service I've ever received at an Olive Garden. We should've made it in within 10 minutes but they forgot about us. Then, when we were finally seated a half hour to 45 minutes later, the server took a long time to arrive. He was not really all that friendly to boot. He never offered us wine or any of the usual courtesies that Olive Garden provides. He took our orders, which took forever to come out and then he blamed it on a "fight with the boss". The food was typical Olive Garden. It was pretty good. Then the server took forever bringing us to the check. I'll only return if it's punishment.

Why did I come here? Sometimes you give in to the desires of your kids. I ordered one of their 4-course meal promotions for 12.99, it wasn't worth that. The salad barely had any dressing and the risotto was ok with hardly any sauce. The tortellini and meat sauce entree was served luke warm and the tortellini had an uneven texture, as if it were frozen or not cooked evenly. My wife's chicken scampi was very bland, not a good value for $15.49. I was horrified reading the previous reviews describing the service in this place, however our server was friendly and attentive. I should not have listened to my kids.... I guess you have to give in once in a while.

Service was great and the food was fresh and hot! Shout out to hostess Amy for being so friendly and good-looking! I will definitely be coming back!

Our waitress Morgan was a bubbling saccharine slice of helpful when we made a drowsy, grumpy stopover at this OG on our way home from NC. She was super happy. I hadn't been at an Olive Garden since Fahrenheit 9/11 was in the theaters, because you don't live in Boston and go to Olive Garden for Italian food. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Their new entree, the beef flatbread, was incredibly yummy. I also had the Zuppa Tuscana, which is the same recipe I remember from years ago, for good reason - that soup is good! The three layer chocolate cake I ordered to go was chalky but incredibly rich, to the point where it was inedible. I took a couple of bites and tossed the rest. Entree was around $9, dessert was $6. Kind of weird distribution, but overall, affordable as expected from Olive Garden. We loved Morgan. She was great and didn't even mind when one person at our table got a little too open with her feelings.

Worst place ever yesterday they forgot my Caesar salad they said don't have chicken, I was like what!

It all started with Amy the host. She was rude and could only smile when with servers making fun of the manger or other customers. Refused to take our name or give us a pager. Her words "their ours only 5 groups." At that time yes but 10 min layer there was 11 groups waiting and then they started taking names of the new groups only. Could not give ETA and Amy was UN helpful. Experience so far. 20 min waiting when not busy.

Good food. Good service. Good menus. I was as disappointed however when they discontinued the chicken and steak on a stick. The menu changes suddenly. Otherwise good service with restaurant and carry out. The bar is not noisy or filled with loud football patrons. That is a good thing.

My stars are based on service. Okay I'm not the biggest fan of chain restaurants so I don't expect too much when I do eat there. This visit I was pretty happy with my service and food. My friend and I actually came so we can have the all you can eat salad that goes with our meal.

We had a nice clean table in the bar area. Nothing real special. I had the Linguine alla Marinara w/shrimp. I asked for whole wheat, got regular and had to wait for them to get it right. However, I was offered another (Minestrone)soup while I waited..much appreciated. Fairly priced and the service was fine, but again, nothing real special. Oh, and they don't do reservations/Open Table....??? Not real sure what to make of that, but...yea...

Decent food, poor service. The manager actually called me and sent me a $15 gift card so at least they 'made it right'.

Smells weird when you first walk in but the staff is pleasant and responsive. I love Italian food and they do a good job at delivering Italian cuisine. I just wish they would renovate this particular branch or do a better job cleaning. It really smells strange in this establishment.

no nononono I wouldn't even give this place one star If I could help it. it was extremely dirty, and the service was horrendous. I waited an hour for my water to come , and eventually went to the bar to retrieve some myself. the waitress then brought bread 15 minutes after. asked for butter and didn't return. after hunting her down, she brought wet plates and no butter, thus shaking the plates off on me. the table next to us left and their stack of dirty food dishes stayed perched precariously next to me until I asked it to be removed. as she removed them, she threw the "fresh parmesan" grinder atop the dirty plates. another thirty minutes and she took our order, bringing incorrect salads out, then an incorrect , most likely frozen, appetizer. another hour without the main course and we called for a manager. whom didn't come. so we cancelled our order , asked them to comp the food, and left.

I love Olive Garden, but this location was HORRIBLE. When we walked, the hostess saw us and audibly let the other hostess know it was "her turn" with a dismissive lazy attitude. We then sat at the table and waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to come by (keep in mind they are not busy at all). She came by tapped on the table and said she'd be back. She took our order, and never came back with salad or breadsticks. We were sitting there for 15 minutes listening to them cackling in the back. We just got up and left. I will never make that mistake again.

After reading mostly bad reviews for this Olive Garden, I was hesitant to try it out but yet decided to give it a try. Visited for lunch with my family on a Saturday & we got a seat within 10 min. After sitting down, a waitress came and introduced herself & I told her what we wanted including the appetizer & three main entries, worth close to $ 50 in all. The waitress had a bottle of white wine in her hand & told us that a promotion is going on for the wine she had asked if we like to try it. I asked her if its free & she said yes. So I told her we'll try & she poured close to a half a glass (I didn't expect that much) & did the same for my wife. She took our order & left & we sipped on the wine while waiting for the food. Within 5 minutes, another waitress came & introduced herself as she will be our waitress. It seems like there was some change & she said since you have ordered the food, just a matter of waiting for it to be ready. Meanwhile, I have finished about 1/2 of the wine poured for me & my wife wasn't so impressed with the wine & it basically sat on the table. In another 5 minutes, another lady came in & told us that the waitress who poured wine is a trainee & she has poured "too much" wine & therefore, she (the new girl) must remove the wine from the table. I was surprised & asked her "so you are going to throw this away" she said yes. I said "wow" no wonder this place got such lousy reviews online & I too will be wirting about this place. She told me to "go ahead." Soon after that I felt "very uncomfortable" sitting there when what was offered free of charge is now taken away & the manner the girl went about it. I told mw wife, lets get out of here as I am not prepared to spend no money for such bad customer service. We simply got up & left. If the first waitress is on training, why was she allowed to come & serve tables on her own? Also, what would they gain by throwing away $ 3 worth of wine when we were prepared to spend at least $ 60 for lunch there? What shoud've happened is that they should've told the original waitress not to pour so much wine the next time; not remove the wine that someone was already drinking. I would've had an issue paying for a glass of wine if I wanted one but this supposed to be promotional wine. Why should we be treated as we were when the fault is on them? I told the girl at the front reception that we have vacated our table & the reason for it. She asked me if I would like to speak to a manager & I said no need as this place is known for poor service & I will never step in here again.

Olive Garden is your basic Italian food. They give you large portions and have a variety of American-Italian food. I wouldn't say it is great, but it is filling and calorie heavy. But, you should know what you're getting yourself into before you go. The only time I go to Olive Garden any more is for the all you can eat soup, salad and breadsticks. It really is one of my favorite lunches.

I've gone to Olive Garden 2 nights in a row. Each night was different. 1st night, I asked for a Peach Daiquiri which was absolutely delicious and I got it. Waiter didn't ask for ID at all. 2nd night, I asked for the same Peach Daiquiri and the Waiter asked for ID, which i didn't have on me. (don't ask why) so I had to get the Virgin. The Virgin Peach Daiquiri was good but not as good as the the regular one with liquor added. I also tried the Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri on the 2nd night and it was good as well. I wanna try the other ones they have too. They also have a Mango Daiquiri. I ordered the Shrimp & Chicken Carbonara on my 1st visit. Didn't eat much of it because I was full but I ate it the next day for Breakfast and it was really really good. I highly recommend that. 2nd night I got the Shrimp Fritta which is also tasty. I enjoyed my meal and I always love Olive Garden's salads. Note: When you get the breadsticks, also order a side of Alfredo Dipping Sauce. It's delicious trust me. Down side, if you only order a appetizer, you have to pay $3.00 for the Salad. Olive Garden is by far one of my favorite chains restaurants though. The salad, bread and daiquiri's alone are worth visiting them for. Oh and that Carbonara is heaven too.

Olive Garden? More like Oil Carton. Here is the tag line for the commercial: "Oil Carton. When you're here, you're saturated." It took about 15 minutes to be seated, even though there were plenty of open tables that fit our group size. Our server was very nice, and she offered us a sample of the house wine, which tasted like grape juice. For appetizers we ordered the sampler and the bread and cheese plate. The sampler I selected had calamari, stuffed shrooms and fried ravioli. The raviolis tasted exactly like Pizza Bites, which are delicious, but not what I expected at the classy Oil Carton. Surprise struck again when we tried to dip the bread in the cheese dish. It was like they took a butter knife and scraped the cheese off a pizza into the plate. It was a solid bolis of melted cheese. So thick that when the bread made contact with the cheese, the entire mass of cheese exited the plate attached to the bread, clinging like a virgin to her first mate. The menu boasts a whopping four healthy options, which are healthy in the sense they use a different oil. Guess what? Fifteen grams of polyunsaturated fat is still fifteen grams of polyunsaturated fat whether it's from peanuts or sunflowers. I got the shrimp that comes with linguine (I can't remember the pseudo-Italian name for the dish), and I asked for whole wheat pasta. The dish looked so sad, so limp, so unappetizing. I ate half of it, and found myself fishing out the shrimps and ignoring the pasta. The really good part was the cheesecake dessert, or so I hoped. WRONG. The crust was as deep and thick as the manager's greasy hair, and as tasteless and stale as the hostess.

This location was on my lunch rotation when I worked in Laurel. They emailed me a coupon for a cheap lunch, so I thought I'd give them another try. Disclaimer: I've been to Italy several times, and I'm a bit of a purist. This review covers only the salad, soup, and breadsticks. No change in the venue, two dining areas separated by a bar, same Mediterranean decor. The service was warmer, but still sounded a bit scripted. Breadsticks were better, less salt and butter on top but still made from industrial rather than agricultural flour. Salad also better, more non-iceberg ingredients and less acrid dressing but not balsamic and EVOO. Soups were not improved - weakly seasoned, not thickened at all. The pasta fagioli used to be almost a stew, savory and stick to the ribs. Doubt I'll be back unless there's another honking deal Like I said, I'm spoiled by the meals I paid for with lira.

Dropped by for lunch because I was in the mood for Italian. Restaurant was half empty and being by myself, I was seated in the bar area. 10 minutes passed with no one taking my order, asking me a question or looking in my general direction. When I got up to leave I told the host no one had bothers to wait on me. He offered an "I'm sorry" on my way out the door. I'm trying the pizza place across the street.

I had a carry out today. My first time ever in an Olive Garden because i love pastas especially Alfredo pasta. I usually eat Fettuccini pasta from cheese cake factory so thought of giving it a try at a pure Italian Restaurant. It was way below my expectation. After having the pasta I just can't think of Alfredo pasta anymore. Cheese cake factory has the bessssttt Pasta for sure. The portion was so small like its a kids' entree. for that price I wonder if they serve the same exact portion at the restaurant and if they do im sure customers would definitely complaint because it was that small portion. I'm glad they gave me a small portion because I would've end up trashing it all like I did the small portion anyways. They did give me the complimentary soup. Surprisingly the soup was enough for 5 people lol. That was weird to get such a large quantity of complimentary soup compared to the small little entree portion. Soup wasn't bad and I would give 3 star for the soup. Staff at the front wasn't that friendly and welcoming as I expected at an Italian restaurant. I would never step in to any Olive Garden as I believe it would be the same story since its a franchise. I wouldn't recommend anybody Olive Garden's Alfredo pasta. Save Ur money on that and try something else from the menu but still I would doubt if you would be satisfied.

Food was great. I had the Tour of Italy and the fried mozzarella with marinara sauce! It was the typical Italian fair! Nothing really spectacular. However, our service was impeccable. Ron was the funniest must engaging waiter that I have had in a long while...

It was close by the hotel so I gave it a try. Not expecting too much and that is what I got. The food was typical chain quality (no flavor and small portion but priced ok. But did get get good customer service at the bar by Monique. Happy hour specials should be extended to 7:00pm. Could use cleaning. Several employees standing around hostess station and the front doors covered in fingerprints....not good first impression upon entering a restaurant. Still there when I left.

Hubby and I was in the area and decided to Come here for the Stuffed chicken Marsala. But was Informed that they changed the menu around . However, for 16.99 all u get is chicken and cut up potatoes- _- No thanks. Soooo, WE r leaving. The menu isn't appealing at all anyway

I've never been to an Olive Garden and would never go on my own. However we had a big group and I really didn't have any option. I had the make your own pasta thing. It was OK and did the job but then again I'd never go to an Olive Garden if I didn't have to. Service kind of sucked but with a large party/group I guess that is kind of a given. I guess if i HAD to go I would but never again would I go on my own.

I was hankering for some spaghetti and you know, once you get a craving for something - nothing else will do. The parking lot was packed. This always amazes me, but then again; it's Laurel and there aren't that many Italian restaurants to choose from. It's not like we've never had salad before, especially this bagged variety - but, we find ourselves playfully fighting over the peppercini peppers and eating every last bit. My child, likes the salted bread sticks. Knowing that he always gets full on salad and breadsticks, he vows not to let this happen again - FAIL. We order the same thing all the time. Why mess with perfection? Our waitress is very accommodating and gives us lots of grated cheese, for salad, pasta and whatever else we want. Even though his little tummy can hold no more, he downs his fettuccini alfredo. My husband and I get the same thing, except I have sausage accompanying my spaghetti and he's gotten meatballs. It's not gourmet, but it's good, filling and just an overall feel-good place to be.

It has been many years since dining at the Olive Garden. Although I love going out to eat with family, the food here was not particularly interesting, and I had to remind our server of several basic things (drinks before food, salad bowl, etc.). The signature salad was limp and soggy, and the breadsticks were bland. This place was curiously very, very busy, although I'm sure many left similarly disappointed -- 2.5 stars is a reach. We had a $25 gift card which prompted this visit. Next time, I think we'll pass...

Had horrible service. We were seated in a secluded nook and did not have a server come to us for 10+ minutes. When he finally came, we requested water and ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and an upgrade on the salad (caprese). Another 10 minutes pass and we finally get water. Our apps came out with the salad and he forgot the upgrade (didn't write our orders down). So the salad goes back out. Immediately after he took away the salad, our entrees came out. Really annoying to get your apps and main at the same time when everything is hot. Never upgrade the salad. The mozzarella tasted funny and the kale was super dry. I thought it said it contained basil but there was no basil in it. Our server clearly took our old salad back, waited a while for the caprese topping to be ready, then had the kitchen slap it on top. All the dressing was on the bottom and really oily.

Been here many times and although it's in Laurel (possibly one of the worst D.C. suburbs for crime), this Olive Garden has always provided excellent food and atmosphere. This last time, service was a bit on the slow side, but since it isn't a consistent problem I don't mind. The manager also happens to walk around and talks to everyone, so it shows that they actually care for what the customer thinks. All in all, not a disappointment in the least.

I had a poor experience with picking up an online order in December of 2014 (waited over 25 min. for online order. .. I think my food was delivered to a table!). I didn't write a review then nor have I returned until today. Today I ordered lunch online. The 2 greeters (host/hostess) were friendly when I walked in & I told them I ordered online. The take-out person was polite in greeting me but then it was almost a repeat of my earlier visit. I paid in person & take-out person went to get my food. He returned w/ bag of food but dessert was missing (oh, and I had to ask this person for $1.00 back because he short changed me). He said he was asking guy (host???) to get my dessert & then they both disappeared. The host came out & asked what I needed. I said, " he said you were getting the tiramisu but I don't know why he asked you?!" That guy disappeared again. Minutes later host returned & said manager was getting my dessert. Not good service (again). Shouldn't have to wait that long for an online order- & I wasn't there on time! I'd like my meager tip returned because the guy who waited on me did not provide good service!

I've been to this Olive Garden many times and I've never been dissatisfied! My servers have always been great and the food is always on point. I usually try to order something new every time I go but this time I decided to eat the Stuffed Chicken Marsala again. It comes with mashed potatoes, chicken stuffed with cheese and mushrooms. I have always hated mushrooms but when I tried them here, they were delicious! I would definitely recommend this dish. I also ordered the peach mango smoothie! This is such a DELICIOUS smoothie, I always order it. My family and I were seated quickly and the food was quick to arrive.

Your average Olive Garden. Our waiter was attentive and timely. The bar tender gave us a 20 oz beer instead of the 14 but they gave it to us for the 14 oz price. We enjoyed our never ending pasta

I decided to go to lunch with my mom last week and it was empty when we arrived. The waiter was a bit strange and our drinks took forever to come out. Our appetizer arrived before our drinks. I had a coke and my mom had a glass of Sangria that she said was awful. She still drank it and didn't complain to the waiter. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and it was awful. The chicken was hard and had no flavor. I couldn't eat it. I didn't eat it. And 20 minutes later after our server returned he just grabbed our plates and waited for us to ask for the check. Never noticed my plate was barely touched and didn't care why I didn't eat it. I tipped him because that's just how I am but the food and service was awful. I hadn't been to Olive Garden in a while and I guess I now remember why. Such a shame! I love italian food. Oh, at least the decor was nice.

Huzzah! What a find! If you told me that I could find real authentic Italian cuisine in my backyard I'd probably call you and your mother a nut! How have I not discovered this place yet? Where have I been? Don't worry because if you haven't heard of this little gem either I will fill you in. The "Olive Garden" is a local family owned restaurant hidden in the scenic city of Laurel, or as I'd like to call it, "Little Italy". Now, I hear people talking about "local" food all time... "Food is best when local!" or "I will not eat that because that is not local"... Well nothing's more local than this! I mean they practically boil the pasta fresh in the back. And their marinara sauce... mmmm It's like Francesco Rinaldi whisked it himself this morning. We started our meal off with mussels for our appetizer (no i did not find any pearls :( ). Shortly after, our waitress brought us a basket of warm, piping hot breadsticks. Succulent! I got a little wild and started dipping my breadstick in the mussel juice. My waitress caught me in the act and gave me a funny eye, and boy... did I give her a funny one back! We exchanged laughs. Now I know what you're thinking... how has this little gem been kept a secret for so long? Let's just say that the people of Laurel know a classy place when they see it, and they keep their lips sealed. But I bet they don't keep their lips sealed when they're about to eat here! Huzzah! HUZZAH!!! HUZAAWERWREAAVUIDZAHHHH!!!!!!!! I will definitely be back, this is THE place to get Italian in Laurel. So as they say in Italy, "Thats Amore!" and "Bien Venidos!". Hope to see you at my "little Italian secret" soon!

I went over the summer and the wait was super long, and the service was horrendous. After waiting for over an hour. We asked if a table was ready when the hosts started to get rude. They proceeded to mumble things about us to other waiters and staff members who kept giving us dirty looks. I was with my cousins who are kids & I remember a waiter walking by saying "the bar's empty stick em in there if they dont want to wait" in such a derogatory way. It was my first AND LAST experience at Olive Garden.

Personally, I had told myself I would never come here again after the previous two times I came here. One time I had a reaction to my seafood alfredo, and the other time the food and service was just sickening. So now I feel odd leaving a great review in the midst of all the horrid ones. However, I decided to give it one last chance yesterday and it was great! The hostess was polite, seated us in a great spot, and our waitress was great. Did not come by many times but always restocked our food when asked and most of the time prior to asking. Which is honestly a first at any Olive Garden. She was almost robotic in the way she recited off the usual greetings and phrases. I kept commenting on how something must have happened because it was such a change from before. My salad plate was extra cold, the breadsticks were hot, salad was completely fresh and entrees extra hot and came out pretty quick. And yes I know it's not real italian.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
