4 years ago, I tried this place and thought the burgers were downright awful. Who is buying them, I said to myself? I had to return recently to meet an old friend who selected it as a rendezvous spot--was not looking forward to it. I must say that I was surprisingly impressed with the quality of the food. The beef patty meat is flavorful now, and execution of how the burger comes together is more carefully done; the place is well run and cleaner; the pricing is moderate for a mostly organic food menu. I taste and see things that are pleasing to me. Elevation Burger: you got your act together and redeemed yourself.

There were a lot of dining options around, but you know what? I wanted a burger. I swung into Elevation Burger, eager to try it as I'd never dined here before. Was the burger good? Heck yes. Was it worth the price? Heck no. For just over 13 dollars, my classic "elevation burger" was just about the size of a Big Mac. Not really the "elevation" I had in mind. That 13 dollars also got me a side of fries and a medium fountain drink. While the burger WAS delicious, I can't hardly begin to justify that price for a fast food joint, unless it's absolutely top notch, which Elevation Burger isn't. The fries were rather lackluster, and a fountain drink is just standard fare. The good tasting burger can only get you so far. It's size, price, and generic sides keep Elevation Burger from being something better. Overall, 3.5/5.

Good flavor, organic meat, and reasonably priced. Elevation Burger is doing what Chipotle did for burritos-- raise the expectation and baseline for a fast-casual cuisine. Flavorful meat and lots of available toppings. Milkshake was creamy and smooth, very tasty. The only real negative is the bread on the bun is kind of throw-away. I hoped for something more artiisanal, rather than fast-food style buns. This location has outdoor seating, and a mix of metered street parking, curb parking, and a parking lot (shared with the rest of the Arts District establishments). Off-hours parking is easy, peak-time gets crowded. Savings tip: Cheese is charged by the slice, w/ 2 slices per non-kid burger. Ask for less cheese or skip it entirely to make your burger cheaper. Elevation is doing good, and makes good burgers that cost barely more than Five Guys charges. Recommended.

A burger place and I had one with no meat. My wife's been giving me the guilts for eating animals, so I decided that today would be the death of several potatoes and other veggies and I'd be able to satisfy my hunger for a cheeseburger. Lots of cheese, lots of veggies and a pretty decent veggie patty is what I had. A good sized portion that had a lot of flavor and a lot of messy, drippy cheese, which was exactly what I wanted. The fries were decent. Not terribly greasy but I realized after I started that some cheese on top would have been ideal. They have milkshakes but my choice was for one of the sarsaparillas from the cooler. Mmmm!

The nearest "gourmet burger" chain to me did not meet my lofty expectations. However, it still did the trick - just not how I expected. I expected a lot from their burgers. Their burgers are organic and locally-raised. However, the meat tasted dry. I heard it was the closest thing to In-N-Out Burgers out here, but that couldn't have been farther from the truth. If it weren't for the Elevation Sauce, the burger would have been a complete waste. How did it do the trick? Their fries. Ah yes, their fries. They are kinda pricey, but you can get them in many different styles. I got mine drenched in mayo, Elevation Sauce, and cheese. Holy shit, what an experience. The combination of life-shortening sauces were an orgasm for my mouth. I would have to caution about the neighborhood. While the Arts District in Hyattsville is getting better, the adjacent neighborhoods are still very shady. Try coming here for lunch - it's much safer.

Really great burgers! The burgers look amazing, taste as such. The Elevation burger, God it's amazing. I'd highly recommend it. When they ask you for toppings, be sure to add a good amount. It's kinda like Subway, they add what you request, so if you request nothing, be ready for a dry and dull burger. If you play your cards right, you'll have an amazing burger well worth the price. But the drinks. Of all the things to knock down a star, the drinks had to be it. Half of the drinks were watery in the vending machine, so that was kinda suckish (and no alcohol!). Pros *Amazing tasting food *Kind staff *The Milkshakes Cons *Not as filling *Parking *Drinks (see above)

I'm really surprised this place has better reviews than Bobbys burger palace. Burgers are held by two greasy cold buns. Very flimsy greasy meats. Variety of toppings are the only saving grace. Fries are disgustingly greasy, thin, often cold and tasteless. Customer service at this particular location is complete crap. I've had many sub par experiences and one extremely unprofessional terrible experience that was enough to drive my family and I away for good. (Placed an order for delivery bc it allowed it online, they took my money and order, never called, never answered the phone, I went up there to see what happened and my food had been sitting there cold for an hour and a half while employees ignored calls...wtf? They didn't even offer an apology, to warm the food, make a new order, refund money, comp future meal, nothing!) All that to say - hell no to elevation burger, especially this location. I really don't get the hype even if they did have redeeming customer service I can't see me paying for greasy cold tasteless slop.

The food isn't bad, but it definitely isn't worth the price. Out of convenience, I've been here twice and was surprised by how much they charged for a pretty average burger and fries (about 11$ for just a burger and fries - no drink). Further, I don't like being nickled and dimed for burger toppings. 1.20$ for cheese? No thanks. I'm not a fan of 5 guys, but you can get the same thing for half the price there. You could also go to one of the nicer places in the area like bus boys or franklins and get a much nicer meal for about the same price. In short, skip it. You can find much better in the area for the same price or less.

Walked in and my order was taken immediately. Very few other customers. Took a really long time (12 minutes) for them to call my name, only to find they had given my order to someone else, and I had to wait another long time to finally get my sandwich. Will not go there again, no matter how good.

Veggie Burger #1 is numero uno and those french fries with caramelized onions and cheese will change your life. I think the milkshake uses low fat milk or something because it has a weird taste to it but other than that I love it. It's an up and coming franchise and I think it's a great idea. Their meat is from hormone-free cows and that's cool to a lot of folks. I've only had the veggie options so I'm not sure how great the hamburgers are. Suggestion: Put caramelized onions on everything.

Not good. I went in tonight and placed a decent sized order. The food came out wrong, 2 of the 3 burgers needed to be sent back because they were made wrong. The burger itself was overcooked and dry. The fries were cold, grease laden, awful. The restaurant was not very busy when we got in and it still took about 20 minutes to receive our burgers. I would not recommend elevation burger to anyone. Walk across the street and get a grass fed burger from bus boys and poets to go.

Only eaten here 3-4 times. Really tasty burgers. Wait time is always longer than wanted. Summary: Burgers bit better and wait time slower than Five Guys. Elevation and Five Guys are a cut above the rest of the burger crowd.

  • Elizabeth B.

Elevation Burger is the grass-fed, free-range version of Five Guys. Like Five Guys, they have burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches, except theirs are made with organic beef and aged cheddar. Unlike Five Guys, they have two types of veggie burgers, as well. The food was tasty! I regret not trying their shakes, because I bet they are really good, too! My problem with Elevation isn't the food; it's the lack of originality. The restaurant was founded almost 20 years after Five Guys in the same area (Washington DC). It feels like the founder went to Five Guys, wished it was organic, and then opened his slightly altered version of the place. I don't know -- I just can't get really excited about the restaurant for that reason.

I was in another dining establishment about to be seated when I saw this place across the street. I had heard about Elevation Burger from friends so I was dying to try this place. I quickly made up an excuse and made a beeline across the street to try this burger. Let me first say that the place was clean and the employees were friendly. I also like the sustainable philosophy of this company. Now for the rating of the food....after all the build up and sneaking out of another establishment to try the food here all I'm left with is disappointment for my review. The burger was fresh and cooked well but lacked any signature taste. It was just an ordinary burger. The fries were greasy and I got a lot of fry bits instead of whole fries. Hopefully, I will try Elevation again and have a better food experience.

Not big on burgers, but today I had a craving for one. I thought that the fries were fantastic! They weren't too crunchy, and they gave me plenty to enjoy. I don't eat burgers often, so when I do, I'm hoping for an unforgettable experience lol. It was delicious here BUT, I thought having to pay for the add-ons was a little ridiculous - the only reason I've docked a star. To get more bang for your buck, I think Five Guys is the better deal but since these burgers are better for you - meh, why not. The vanilla milkshake was also great. Nice and thick but it softened up quickly enough for me to enjoy it without hurting my lips trying to suck it through the straw :)

I've been here a number of times. Burgers, fries & milkshakes are always good. Food always comes out fresh. I definitely don't feel like grease is running through my veins when I indulge in the offerings at Elevation Burger. I was somewhat skeptical of the 'healthy' burger, but it is really good. The variety of options for toppings on the burger is to my liking. Fries have always been hot & very tasty. They sort've remind me of the fries at Boardwalk Fries, but without the grease.I fell in love with the black cherry milkshake. That's definitely my go-to move. Overrall good experiences here.

The burgers and fries are consistently good. The thing that pushes it to 5 stars is: 1. The customer service from the employees is always warm and friendly. I've never had bad service here. 2. They have gluten-free options! Lettuce wrap for a burger with gluten free fries. They make sure there is no contamination and they change their gloves if you tell them you have an allergy.

Good burger, juicy and with a bit of a crispy crust on the beef. Recommend the hot relish for zing. Our group split an order of fries which had just the right touch of salt. Oreo shakes completed the meal; you really need to add key lime. It was wonderful. Good to the last drop as they used to say.

This is definitely my go to place for my burger and fry fix. I'm very particular about the food I put into my body, and I take extreme comfort in the fact that there is a place serving good ol' American burgers that I can feel good about eating. From grass-fed beef to fries fried in 100% olive oil, this place knows how to get to this girl's heart. My friend, who has a lot of serious food allergies, and I come here all the time since it is one of the only places he can eat and know that he will not get sick from cross-contamination or a slip up in ingredients. In short, this place is pro at responsibly-sourced, delicious, speedy food that I will take advantage of gladly!

I am not a burger fanatic and am usually picky about my meat. This place just nails it on the head with the freshest and juiciest beef patty. Even my son who is extremely picky loves coming here. They also serve awesome shakes. I recommend the cheesecake and Oreo shake!

I called in an order here for two burgers and fries. They told me 10 minutes and it would be ready; I came about 10 minutes later. The order was ready but after I paid and pulled out a few fries, I said to my wife, "the fries are cold and soggy." The clerk just looked at me and said, "that's because you waited too long to get here" (paraphrasing--something to that effect). For a low cost, high margin item like fries, you'd think they'd just give us another order. But they didn't. So kind of meh on the fries. Burgers have the slightest of edges over five guys--really only the delicious aged cheddar makes them stand apart. Otherwise they're probably a wash. Cookies were very tasty--oatmeal/chocolate; reminded me of Potbelly's (Veryt tasty) cookies, perhaps a little better even. All in all, pretty good burgers, soggy fries, and not so hot customer service. I might stop in if I'm in the area again and hungry, but wouldn't go out of my way.

Disclaimer: I don't think that Five Guys is that great (In-N-Out is the way to go for me!!) so if you like Five Guys, you might like this more than I do. I stopped for a late lunch with a friend after going to A Tangled Skein a few blocks away. He said that it was kind of like a pricier Five Guys (so there) but I was hungry enough to go for it. I got the Elevation Burger with the original toppings and added cheese and onions. The patty was pretty tasteless and dry. They did bring it personally to me, which is a nice touch although more probably because there weren't that many people there. Also, they say that their fries are made with olive oil, which is great! But they're unpleasant to eat- more limp than crispy, and need salt. They also have soda made with cane sugar (Wild Bill, I think?) Note that the root beer is featured at the Fountain Soda so it'll be cheaper to get that instead of the glass bottle. Both my friend and I were not impressed with it, though. (He had the glass bottle, I had the fountain soda.) Overall, meh. If I'm in the area I'll probably just go to Chipotle or Busboys and Poets.

I was pretty excited to come to Elevation Burger, but it didn't really meet my expectations. I ordered an Elevation Burger with tomatoes, lettuce, caramelized onions, ketchup, Elevation sauce, and pickles. (Would've gotten mayo but... there was a lot of sauce alraedy. ^^;;) I also split an order of fries with my boyfriend. While waiting for our food, I got a feel of the vibe of the restaurant. A big focus on their organic food, kind of "hippy dippy" for some people, I would imagine. It was nice and open and bright, with lots of daylight and view of the arts district coming in. As far as the food itself, I wasn't really blown away. My burger tasted okay, although it was super duper messy to eat, and I just... didn't really feel anything about it. I hate to have to say this, but I felt like I got a Five Guys experience for a kind of hefty price, and the beef, which I thought would taste better than most burger chains', was at about the same level but a bit drier. I was pretty disappointed that this burger not only didn't blow me away but fell short of what my burger craving drove me to Elevation Burger for. The fries also weren't that great. No seasoning on the fries, which is fine, but I guess I thought the olive oil would lend some flavor to them? Not really. Just potato in my mouth that I needed ketchup for. NEEDED. And after all that, I walked out of Elevation Burger feeling kind of iffy, much like I would after having any kind of greasy food. That is to be expected, although I guess Yelp reviews led me to believe this wouldn't be the case. I didn't dislike Elevation Burger really, but I was expecting something above and beyond or, at the very least, different from my typical burger joint experience. It was very much the same for me, and I guess that's where I got disappointed. Side note: If you get a punch card, they punch one hole per burger and not per patty, as per a new policy, I guess?

Dearest Elevation, you've added bacon and therefore added me to your fan club! The organic burgers are pretty tasty and I've grown to love the shoestring fries. Oh, and the milkshakes! I usually get strawberry but I love that here you can get a chocolate shake with Hershey's syrup for more chocolatey goodness. Let's make a bacon chocolate milkshape happen and we can make five stars happen.

Food is mediocre at best. The burgers are greasy and basically tasteless. The only flavor comes through the toppings. The last time I was there, the fries tasted like they had been fried in old grease. We had three order of fries for 4 of us, and we left one order totally untouched because we weren't enjoying them. I think for the price we paid ($50 for the four of us), we'd expect better food.

Loved it! Tasty burger & fries. Delicious balsamic dijon. And no "burger hangover," that lathargy that follows a heavy, greasy burger. We felt energized and fed and, an hour later, enjoyed a great hour long exercise walk.

I am not a burger person at all! But if you are looking for something that is juicy and greasy and taste great with every bite, YOU MUST HAVE AN ELEVATION BURGER! As I'm writing this review, I'm craving one right now. Its the only burger I can eat and don't feel guilty about it. It's just so darn good.

I had the half guilty burger, cookie, and fries. Amongst vegetarian patties, the one here was not my favorite. I think I had the #2 and it just tasted weird. The cookies were good and was a redeeming factor. Fries were decent too. The staff was really friendly. Overall, nothing too special that I would go out of my way for but would probably stop by to get my burger fix.

Is it in the business plan of this company to have employees stuff an overcooked, tasteless, unseasoned, greasy, messy, falling-apart burger, upside-down, wrapped in the worst stick-to-everything-and-therefore-ruin-everything paper so deep into a thin bag along with a few even-thinner napkins that by the time the customer opens the bag it's all one sad, gross lukewarm mess? 'Cause, if so, bravo for exceeding even those challenging performance goals. Is it also part of the plan to float thin, soggy, waterlogged strings of what once were potatoes in barely-heated "olive oil" - and for such a short time - that they don't get browned, they don't get crispy, they don't get cooked, but instead simply soak up the overused, rarely--changed, lowest-possible-quality oil available in the United States (one can - literally - (and I mean literally) squeeze a handful of these "fries" to produce, at minimum, an ounce of oil)? If so, once again, you're spot-on. If there were a prize for suckering sadly gullible people into accepting such inexplicably nonexistent standards by fooling them into believing that your product is "healthy" or "green" or (laughably) "organic" and that such benefits come at the cost of any item being even remotely edible - while making them wait three times as long as you tell them they'll have to wait - you already would have claimed to have won it on an oversized poster distracting potential customers from the odd smell, dangerous hygienic conditions and general lack of attractiveness of anything you sell.

The burger was ok. I like the idea that they use free range grass fed beef. But the cashier must be having a real bad hair day. I guess she did not want to be there. Totally unfriendly and felt that we were bothering her. We were there around 8 p.m. 5/21. Management take note. The person who brought out our order was much better. Won't be going back though.

If you must eat a burger, fries and milkshake, there is nowhere better to do it in the County-- you can even do some of it guilt free if you eat the non-meat versions. Even the meat is less guilt producing, as it is free range. A delicious occasional off-diet spot!

Really disappointed in the veggie burgers here... Morningstar's are better, honestly. The toppings are decent -- particularly the caramelized onions -- but the whole thing is sort of a greasy disintegrated mess by the time you're halfway through, and not in a good way. Also, the fries are mediocre and the "salad" is a box of lettuce. If you're in this strip of restaurants in Hyattsville, go down a few doors to Spice 6 instead! A million times better.

Burgers taste fresh and are delivered promptly to your table. I ordered the Kid Burger with fries and a vanilla shake. Each of these items was prepared fresh within about 5 minutes. Note that the fries are freshly cut and the shakes are blended. I will return to this restaurant.

I absolutely adore Elevation Burger--specifically the Hyattsville, MD location. I LOVE their veggie burger #2. It's the vegan burger and it's absolutely delicious! I LOVE that I can order my burger w/o bread and have it wrapped (and even double wrapped) with lettuce. I absolutely LOVE their delicious fries which are cooked in olive oil. This is such a cozie and friendly place to go and grab a healthy meal! My husband loves their Elevation Burger, which is made of 100% organic, 100% grass-fed and 100% free-range beef. I'm super impressed! If my husband is going to eat meat, I feel better about him eating quality meat (that hasn't been shot up with a bunch of hormones and whatever else or fed a mysterious diet). I love that my meal is brought to my table and that the staff is so friendly! Each visit, I feel welcomed and right at home. I also like that the eating area is always clean and monitored by a staff member that will ask if he/she can take an empty tray from your table or if you need water, condiments or anything else. Great customer service. Lastly, I really like the frequent visitor card! Every time you order any burger, your card get's a hole punched in it. When you reach 7 holes....you get a FREE burger! YES!! Dream come true--an Elevation Burger for free. #Heaven Elevation Burger Hyattsville is one of my favorite places to eat.

I am a fan of this location. My wife and I went here earlier this afternoon. The food was ok. I can see why someone would say that the food is greasy, but wasn't overly greasy or bad. It's fast food and it's just ok. What I love about this place is the team members. They all seem genuinely interested and go out their way to assist you. As a former restaurant manager, I look for the "wow" effect and have consistently found it here. Now, if they could improve they food, we can talk about 5 stars.

Good experience. My mother, daughter and I went there over the weekend. My mom had never been there before so I had warned her that sometimes it takes a while for your burger but it's totally worth the wait. We ordered our burger separately but at the same time. My burger ended up coming out about 15 to 20 minutes before hers. I was so hungry and it smelled so good that I inhaled it down. When she got hers the man that delivered it must have noticed that I ate my burger by the time she got her burger. So before we left he apologized and gave her a gift card for the next time. I was very pleased with the service, especially for a fast food type place. They noticed she may have been unhappy and nipped it in the bud. The place was clean and they were very friendly. I will be going back for sure.

I had the Veggie Burger #1, as suggested by Hue K. My friend ordered the #2. Mine was the taste winner. Still, it's just a preformed patty like the frozen foods section variety. I liked the flavor. I didn't know I could get cheese on mine. The counter gal was not really helpful. The caramelized onions were just tiny pieces, like Burger King's (if they still do it), not strands. I'd order the #1 again, but only if a friend dragged me here. This location is very clean and bright, so kudos to the staff for keeping it that way, and clearing your trash for you.

I luv this place so much and it's the 3rd location I've been to. Unfortunately my experience here just wasn't that great. The service was excellent but my burger didn't taste that fresh.... can't quite pinpoint what it was but something was just off. Like others say, the fries could be thicker & crispier & they are a little too greasy for my taste. Although they were tasty, they could do much better. That said, I'm gonna keep trekking to the Potomac & Wheaton locations cuz this one didn't wow me. A note about portion size: If you're accustomed to super sized portions (e.g. McDonalds, Wendys, etc.), you're gonna be disappointed with the size of their burgers so plan accordingly. Yes, you'll spend more $$ but you're getting better quality. Organic = better for you, even if you're still eating stuff that is fattening, fried, etc. You can't imagine what typical fast food joints put in their "meat". I get it... people don't want to pay an arm & a leg for a burger & fries but you get what you pay for. Quality over quantity :-)

I love this place. Service is excellent and their food is delicious. The burger meat is very fresh. Their french fries are off the hook! Usually when I eat burgers, I feel sluggish. But, elevation burgers give me clean energy, which makes me believe that grass fed meat do make a difference health-wise. Give this place a try!

From my son: Just ate the 10 patty burger--or, rather, most of it. Excellent high quality beef and toppings. Definitely a good place to drop by for lunch. From me: service is fast and friendly. Meat is pasture fed. Fries are made in olive oil. The vegetarian burger is more satisfying than the vegan burger.

Atrocious! Do not waste your time and money here. We ordered two hamburgers with different toppings and some fries to share. The burger was tasteless and greasy. The patty was too thin. The fries were undercooked and soggy. We actually couldn't eat the fries at all and managed to get part of the burgers down. If it weren't a to go order I would have asked for my money back. Unfortunately by the time we started eating it was too late. (oh, we actually started snacking on the fries in the car so the atrociousness of the fries is not from sitting in a paper bag with steam). To give them credit, the place looked very clean. However, the service was on the slow side. I say avoid it like the plague! That's what we will do.

Great place to stop for a GOOD quick burger.. stay away from the side salads though as it was just a container of lettuce.. not really a salad..

Yeah, I was a skeptic about the grass-fed cow thing. Boy was I wrong. I like their fries too. The only thing I don't like is the open kitchen set up. I know it is not possible to keep a working kitchen tidy, but that's why I prefer not to see the food prep area.

My sister, Gwen and I ate here on 7/17/2011. I just wish that they served turkey burgers - I am TRYING to stay away from beef. They do serve veggie burgers and my sister was happy with hers. We thought that this place was a sit down/menu type restaurant and was sad when we had to order at the counter - we almost turned around and walked out. Our interaction with the first staff member made matters worse: there was a worker standing at the register when we came in and we ASSuMEd that she would be taking our order - NOT! She didn't even look up and when my sister said, "hi, I'm ready to order" the woman BARKED: "I'M NOT TAKING ORDERS! SHE IS! (as she pointed to someone who clearly thought that SHE was taking orders). WHAT IN THE WORLD? The young lady that DID take our order was kind and professional - she even went along with my sister stating that her name was "wonder-woman" (for when her order was ready). The fries are cooked in olive oil and they were great - ours weren't soggy and limp like others are reporting - they were just right. Looking forward to trying the location close to me at the Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD

Went again the other day. Seems that people are hearing about this place and it gets busy at times. Still, the customer service is good, and the food is delicious. If you haven't been here, stop reading and go. You can even order online, although I've never tried it. Insider tip: You can get the vertigo burger, and they will ask you how many slices of cheese. Apparently someone got 3 patties and 10 slices of cheese. Bless his heart!

These burgers are so tasty! Even though I could walk to Five Guys or Bobby's burger Palace, I prefer to drive down to Elevation! The quality is top notch and the flavor is just mouthwatering. Fries and shakes are really good also.

Elevation Burger is not aptly named. It should be called "Meh Burger." I tried this place once and likely not again. Best analogy I can think of is a less tasty, less greasy, version of Five Guys with Milk Shakes. The hand-cut shoe string fries are limp & soggy and, bland too. I later had a conversation with someone who was excited to have a new Elevation Burger in Germantown, only to get the same response that I had about this location: Bland, not tasty, burgers. NO BACON! (I mean Bacon isn't even on the menu!) "The shoes string fries are limp and soggy." Also, their portions are smaller than most. I was full, but not stuffed like at Five Guys or Ray's Hell Burger. RHB being my all time favorite! Sorry, Elevation Burger. With over 40 locations nationwide, you're expanding into a market that has much better options. Even BGR Joint is better. Hell, I'd go to Red Robin before I go to Elevation Burger again. Organic food should be more than just a gimmick to get people in the door. It's supposed to taste good and be prepared properly too. Lastly, is there such a thing as "Organic Bacon"? Cause there should be!

Yes Folks I'm still in Luv, with Elevation Burger that is .... THIS TIME I had a basic cheeseburger with those fries, still have not done a shake yet. I never keep up with coupons or deals, but I managed to remember my "you get the 7th patty for free" card. The sandwich was tasty, like the kind of burger you get off the grill tasty and I really like that sharp cheddar cheese they use! And I noticed something else quite interesting. None of the people that worked at this location had big belly's. The staff were all healthy sized people, as many of them wear skinny fit jeans and low rise pants with their uniform shirts. Impressive.

I can't enough Elevation Burger. It's a nearly guilt free way to enjoy one of the foods I love most. As I'm sure you've read, grass-fed, organic, free range beef, with local and organic ingredients for topping and sides. They give you a caloric break down of everything on the menu. Recently, they've added organic bacon and mushrooms to the menu. If you're on the paleo diet, or other low/no carb diet, worry not. You can order you burger wrapped in lettuce and not sacrifice any flavor! They are also known for their french fries which are hand cut and fried in olive oil. They have a large selection of organic sodas and juices. The best part about Elevation burger is that you don't feel like you've eaten a brick when you're finished. My elevation burger: 2 patties with cheddar cheese bacon lettuce tomato pickles caramelized onions elevation sauce hot pepper relish and balsamic mustard wrapped in lettuce If you have kids, 12 and under eat free on Sunday. I would love to see two things added to the menu, sweet potato fries and beer!

I'm not a burger aficionado by any means, and I rarely go out to eat them but after finding out that EB was halal, I wanted to try them. I also like that the chain is very health conscious. Went here with the wife for Iftar. Ordered two elevation burgers with most of the toppings. Burger was very good and not very fatty which is really important to me. A little on the small side, but with fries it was still filling. Everything was very fresh though and the service was quick and nice. Would definitely come back.

Elevation Burger is one of my favorite place to eat in Hyattsville! It's in a cute little area in the Arts district across from Busboys and Poets. The beef is 100% grass fed which means no yucky hormones etc. You walk away from this place NOT feeling like you got punched in the gut as you might with another popular place with the same concept (I won't name names on here). You go up to the counter and specify what kind of burger you want (I am a fan of the "elevation burger") and then all the toppings you like, they even have organic bacon that is really tasty and cheese that tastes like it could be cut right off the block. They even have the option to get the lettuce wrapped, which I love because I am not into carbs much. They also have delicious fries that are made in olive oil which I had never heard of before, but I now know the glory of the olive oil fry! The service is super quick as well. I have never had a disappointing experience here, in fact my husband and I come here most Saturdays for lunch! It's a little expensive for just a quick burger, but totally worth it to me (about $24 for two people).

These people don't care. Men's bathroom door lock not functional and toilet seat almost completely broken. Floor throughout restaurant was very sticky to walk on. The place just didn't feel or smell clean. Burger was okay, but probably won't frequent this franchise and definitely wouldn't come back to this one.

I would have given a 4 but the bun became greasy and everything fell a part. Seem if they can use organic beef they could use organic whole grain bun. Mmm that would be so much better and make it worth 11$ for a burger fries and soda. That said the burgaer was tasty.

I liked it. And I'm a in-n-out fan. It's better than Five Guys. Pros: The fries are actually better than in-n-out (but then I really don't like their fries anyway. Just everything else) and you get a lot of them. The burgers here are tasty. I do like their grass-fed beef patties. I didn't have the vegetarian option. The additional add-ons are nice. Their "elevation sauce" is pretty good. Similar to thousand island but without the relish. Cons: Don't get a malt. They don't put enough malt powder into the shakes for it to be called a malt. Especially if it's combined also with fruit also. Also, the burger size is on the small side. Since I'm an average portion eater it was enough for me, but I went with some guy friends who have large appetites and it was too small for them. It's also hard to hear in the restaurant. You have to strain to hear the cashier because of the kitchen noise.

Update from inquiry from Elevation: I have returned to try the fries again. Two angles of reflection... 1) I'm a huge fan of the burgers, but something about "healthy" fries just doesn't tickle the taste buds. They might work for others though! They were just weren't the crispy (processed) fries I have shameful food lust for. 2) I made the venture next door to the frozen yogurt spot and turned Elevation fries into spoons. 1 mil x better than "plain ol fries" in a milkshake. I was a very happy camper with that decision!

This review can count as ten stars because my wife loves this place too! These burgers are amazing! Unlike five guys where the ingredients form a soggy ball-like burger that falls apart, EB's creation is perfectly balanced! I used to be skeptical about the whole grass-fed beef deal, but I can honestly say that, after eating two of them, I did not feel the itis at all! I have been thinking about these burgers all day and cannot wait for the opportunity to go back! Great burgers! Friendly and personable staff! Clean design with outdoor dining! Mwah!!!

For a place that is all about grass-fed, organic, and environmental consciousness, this place is AWESOME. And to do all of that on a price tag that's pretty much the same at the Five Guys down the street, DOUBLE AWESOME. Burgers are good, fries are thin, not a fan of thin fries-- but they're fried on olive oil so I feel a lot better when I eat an whole order. I really enjoy this place and would pick it over Five Guys any day.

THEY OFFER TWO DIFFERENT VEGGIE BURGERS. TWO. VEGGIE. OPTIONS. Although the Veggie #2 is much better than the Veggie #1, it is still amazing that they have TWO OPTIONS. They have these amazing soft, eggy buns, sauteed mushrooms and onions are so yummy, the elevation sauce is amazing, and the fries are awesome. Staff is always friendly. The dining room is always clean. I always have a delicious experience. I think their stamp card program is pretty generous, too.

I'll put it like this. I went to Elevation Burger on Sunday for the first time, then I went back on Wednesday, and then again on Saturday. I ordered the Elevation Burger with fries. The fries were hot and delicious. The Burger was as well. The Burger comes wrapped in paper so it is easier to hold without the topping and sauce falling out and getting on your hands. The next time I went the burger was lacking some elevation sauce, so I have made it a point to ask for extra because it is delicious! The service has been very nice and quick. Also, the sustainable and organic nature of the place only increases my opinion of it. Its nice to see a restaurant have a focus on things like that. I really only have two complaints about the place, 1 is that it is usually very cold in there regardless of the temperature outside, fortunately there are tables with umbrellas to sit at right outside. The other is that it is a little bit more expensive than the average burger place, but the quality of the ingredients is definitely worth it. Price wise it is about on par with FIve Guys. I definitely recommend it!

I wish we had one of these up in the NorthEast. For background, I started a Whole30 on the first, thinking I'd keep finding excuses if I didn't start then. I quickly found most restaurants have very limited options for me, if any were to be had. Then I came down to Metro DC for a surprise birthday party. I was anticipating a weekend of salads, until I heard of this place. Boy was I glad I'd found it. They're have the ambiance of Five Guys, but with better food. The service was friendly and prompt, and very willing to accomodate my diet. I'd actually prefer this place to Five Guys, as I can trust the food and, to my palate, the burgers are more flavorful. If you're a tourist like me, and you find yourself in the area, stop by here for a bite. You'll like it.

I really wanted to enjoy my experience at elevation burger. It wasn't terrible, but I've had veggie burgers that are a lot better. There are some great topping choices that you don't get at some other burger places. The atmosphere is nice for a quick dinner, especially during warm weather when you can sit outside. It isn't one of my favorite places in Hyattsville, but I'd consider trying it again to see if other menu items are more appetizing.

I went there on a whim one Saturday afternoon about 2 weeks ago in search of something different in the neighborhood. I remembered this place was open & stopped in. The young lady that took my order was very friendly & seemed as excited as I was about winning free fries! I ordered a single patty cheeseburger with caramelized onions, lettuce, tomatoes & elevation sauce. She asked if I wanted fries and after some hesitation, I said no. She told me I could flip the coin to win free fries. I did & I won fries! They called my name & brought my order to the table. The cheeseburger reminded me of old school Wendy's burgers. The elevation sauce made it even better. The fries were nice & cripsy outside though I regret putting ketchup on them, they were bvetter off wihtout them. I will definitely be going back soon especially since I have a free burger to earn with my Club 7 Card! My only complaint was that the young lady that was cleaning up swept around my table while I was eating. It's just a pet peeve of mine.

Good burgers here! I had been meaning to try Elevation Burger for quite a while, largely because I wanted to get a ten patty monster of a sandwich, but I never made it over to NoVA. Now that there's one near College Park it's a lot easier to get a good burger fix that isn't Five Guys! This is probably the closest thing to In-n-Out that we have in the DC area. For one, it's the same style of burgers (thin patties). They serve milkshakes. You can order multiple patties on your burger (the limit is ten). About the only thing missing is animal style. I ordered an Elevation Burger which is two patties with cheese, and got caramelized onions and Elevation Sauce (basically secret sauce) on top of it. The meat was cooked well, with slight charring that was not overpowering at all. The bun was sturdy, and it needed to be; the amount of grease that dripped out of the wrapping could lubricate all the moving parts in an aircraft carrier. The fries are cooked in olive oil which imparts a slight flavor on them that you may or may not like. Olive oil also doesn't reach as high a temperature as other oils and so the fries are not very crispy. However, for their style (shoestring) they were passable. I've definitely had better ones but these will do. I did not try the milkshakes but they sure sounded good. One disappointment was that despite all their boasting about their grass-fed organic beef and olive oil and what not, they had no sodas like Boylans available. Darn.

I was pretty excited to go here because I had never seen an Elevation Burger! I got the half the guilt burger (fire roasted veggie patty and meat patty) and fries. The burger's pretty ok but I love the fries! They're kind of small but like deeelicious! Everything's organic and eco-friendly which is pretty cool. The people there are so nice too!

I appreciate the organic/grass fed beef for the burgers. Not the most amazing burger, but I'll tend to solicit a place serving pasture-raised beef over one that isn't. The fries seemed too greasy for my taste, but they were okay. I tried the elevation sauce on my burger but my wife caught on that it was basically "secret sauce" - not my favorite. Whoops. Wife had the pepper relish (I think that's the name) and I liked that. I'll stop back by here again for sure.

We live around the corner, so have gone about half a dozen times in the couple weeks they've been open. The place is consistently busy, but never feel like there's an excessive wait. Burgers & fries both feel less greasy than Five Guys. Maybe its just in my head, but with it being grass fed/organic it feels healthier. The Cheddar is a definite upgrade from the usual American. We have a few vegetarian friends, so glad we can take them someplace that has not one but TWO veggie burger options (honestly they were amazed there was more than one option thrown at them, they seem to struggle with the idea of having a choice). Shakes are okay -- and like that they have a few topping options at no extra charge -- but would say burgers are definitely stronger. Staff is very nice & energetic -- it may just be the "yay we just opened" excitement, so hopefully they can keep it up.

Loved the fries and chocolate malt shake. The burger left me cold. Couldn't taste much through the thick gooey bread that reminded me of wonder bread. Wish they had some crunchy toasted textured bread, whole grain with seeds. Service was friendly and efficient. They really seem to be trying.

The burger is pretty good. Definitely one of the better burgers in the area. I wish I could say the same thing about the fries. I appreciate the fresh cut fries but they were limp and the flavor from the olive oil, probably not extra virgin, was NO BUENO. The second time I visited I skip them all together.

My wife and I just ate here for the first time a few days ago. We were surprised at the pleasant dining experience since they just opened this location a week ago. Overall the service was great as the place was bustling, the food delicious and non-expensive, and the atmosphere charming in Hyattsville's new Arts District.

This place is okay. My gripe about this establishment is their burgers are small and their fries aren't all that and the food is overpriced. Sure they market all-natural, grass-fed, organic beef burgers and fries that are fried in olive oil. That's great, but you can't make burgers and fries healthy; it wouldn't be burgers and fries then. Milkshakes are awesome though!

Elevation Burger has a good business concept: the convenience and satisfaction of fast-food burgers with higher-quality, healthier ingredients (it's all relative!) and an environmentally-friendly ethic. Though I am not vegetarian, I try to eat "veg" regularly so I appreciate that EB has TWO veggie burger options in addition to beef patties. Another nice option: you may order the burger wrapped in a big lettuce leaf instead of on a bun! The Arlington location apparently has halal burgers, but no mention of that here in H-ville. On my first visit I got a beef burger. It seemed greasier than many, but this may be due to the real cheddar cheese they use -- not the American "cheese food" slices we are used to seeing on fast food. The fries cooked in olive oil are *delicious*, although I found myself wondering if it was really olive oil since there was no characteristic olive taste or scent. (Which I like, but maybe they use a lesser grade so that it wouldn't upset the traditionalists used to Canola and other more common frying oils). I'm a busy working person who tries to watch my health, so on my past several visits to EB I've ordered one of the veggie burger options on a lettuce leaf with cheese (to keep it from being dry) and a few other condiments. Delish! I skip the fries and get just the burger for under $4.50. A simple, inexpensive, relatively healthy meal. Three stars may seem like a low rating, but I don't mean it that way. EB is not the best burger I've ever had, but it's competitively Good Enough, especially if one prefers all the other things it offers: pasture-raised beef, veggie options, etc. My sweetie and I live nearby in Cheverly and are thrilled to see the whole Hyattsville "Arts District" taking off at last. EB is a good option for dinner-on-the-run, when we don't want to spend the time or $$ to eat at Busboys & Poets.

I ate here for the first time on July 1. I was happy to see that they offer veggie burgers as an option because I do not eat meat. I ordered a veggie burger and of course told them what to put on it. I also had a delicious salad and a strawberry shake. I was surprised that the burger came to me with a cold roll. They did not warm it and it never occurred to me that they would not have just naturally have warmed the roll. That was my only turn off. The young man who took my order was professional and friendly. The food was good. The atmosphere, pleasant. The place was clean. Will definitely visit again, as my office is located in Hyattsville.

This place is good, but greasy. At least it is grass-fed beef greasy. The fries are too thin as well.

  • Anthony S.

This place is the bomb! I mean, it's the best burger I've had in many, many years. You can really taste the difference. It's indescribable, but you'll know it when you taste it. The fact that it comes from organic, grass fed, antibiotics-free beef is an added bonus. You can build your own burger by choosing a variety of toppings. Their fries are fried in olive oil! And you can add items to your milk shakes (bananas, strawberries, etc) at no extra charge. The best part, the food here is not anymore expensive than any other burger joint, but beats them all by far. If you don't believe me, just head on over and try it for yourself. You won't regret it.

  • John M.

The burger seemed pretty good. I got the single patty cheeseburger. The patty was a bit hard to taste, since I got the "elevation sauce" (seemed like a tangy thousand island, a bit out of McDonald's book) and they were quite generous with it. I usually skip the cheese on burgers because it's not tasteless. Not the case here - this chedder was fantastic, exactly what you would want on a burger. The price is pretty good for the type of beef. I think the double patty double cheese would be a bit too much. The bun was quite disappointing, though, and a real missed opportunity. It was a soft, somewhat tasteless bread that just seemed tacked on, with everything else happening. They could at least toast it like Five Guy's. Roommate didn't like the fries, but I didn't try them. Verdict? If it was closer to me than Five Guy's I'd go there more often because it's comparable in price and the meat quality is definitely higher (though Five Guy's meat is quite good) but I'd rather have the Five Guy's.

The burgers are solid, not too big (though I had the double). The same holds true for the fries, lightly salted, nice hot and crunchy: very good overall. However, this is not BGR or Ray's Hellburger, more like a high quality ingredients McDonalds with better sauces - for example the balsamic vinegar mustard. Arguably a good decision, positioning themselves below these two but above chains such as Five Guys (too greasy). Amusing interior design, medium and dark blues with whites, with the poster designs reinforcing the feeling of a certain recent political campaign.

This was my 1st time at Elevation Burger, and I left disappointed to say the least. I ordered my meal: elevation burger with cheddar, bacon and ketchup, crispy fries and soda. The total was $12.38. When I asked the cashier about a temperature for the burger (I was never asked), she seemed confused. After simply asking if I could get it medium, I was informed that the burgers came med rare which was fine. Seems like that should be on the menu board, but oh well. Bite 1: Well done. Bite 2: Well done. Bite 3-all of them: Well done! The burger didn't have one bit of pink in it. The bacon was also so hard that I felt like I was eating a saltine. The fries were a mixed bag. Some of them were very crispy while others were limp and floppy. You would think with shoestring fries you'd be able to get them crisp throughout, but no dice. I don't mind paying more for organic meat or anything else, but for $12 you should be able to cook a burger to your own standard: med rare or at least to the temperature I ordered: medium. I did not have time to get them to remake my order, and I work in the industry, so I didn't send it back, but it is not a place I would visit again.

Nice add to the "homemade" burger category and a terrific add to Hyattsville. Had the cheesburger (one patty) with the "original" fixin's and fries. Burger was good. Bun was nondescript. Sauce didn't add too much, but overall tasty. The fries were skinny (rather than the fat ones at 5 guys) and cooked in olive oil. Good, too. And double-two thumbs up for the root beer. And I guess you can have a float, too. Nice and crowded with tons of families for a late Saturday lunch. And I bet it will be popular with the DeMatha boys across the street, too.

A pricier alternative to Fuddruckers. If the hamburger patties were thinker, this would be a five-star location

Average burger doing the double double thing but to only decent effect. As everyone says the fries are below average as they are thin but not crispy enough. The really exceptional thing though is the veggie burger (#1 the smokey one) which was actually one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had.

I love it here! It's small the staff is nice and the burgers are great! The burgers are cheap and a bit on the small side so I like to go here for a light meal. The food is also organic and 100% beef which is a plus! They also have a 7 card which gets punched for each patty you buy, once you have 7 punches you get a free burger with one patty. This is a great option for us frequenters.

We ate here last Thursday night. Just decided to get a quick bite. This place is an organic eatery. We had a single burger, fries, and a rootbeer. The burger was greatly made with quality meat! The fries were cooked very nice and small, cooked to order also so they were hot! Which is the way I like them! All in all I would go back, the food was fresh and good.

I want very badly to like this place. I like what they're trying to sell - essentialy, a green burger. I like the fact that they're open in a neighborhood that is long overdue for some change. But I wasn't horribly impressed by the burger itself. It was good, but not amazing. It seemed a little small for the price. The meat was good, but the bun could have been better. The fries were those stringy things that (at least in my opinion) just seem sad when compared to thicker steak-cut fries. I was more impressed by the veggie burger, frankly. The vegan version doesn't have that weird fake meat flavor, it actually has a nice veggie flavor that goes well with their toppings and house sauce. I'd go back for that before I went looking for meat there.

Burgers are ok...tried them twice (so far)...i have to say I prefer 5 Guys...skip the special sauce unless you enjoy a thousand island/McDonald's twang...I did like the shoestring fries...although they can be a little greasy occasionally...

Elevation burger is awesome. The hamburgers are yummy. The veggie burgers are tasty too. grass fed cows and fresh cheese. Way better than other nearby fast food stops. So happy to have EB as a choice in Hyattsville.

I work right across the street from E Burger and have gone there a number of times. It is my favorite burger in the area. The service is great and the food is delicious. It is all organic and grass fed beef and you can taste the difference.

Great burgers. Nicely grilled. Juicy. Cheese that actually tastes good! Love the fries too, but don't order often, would like a smaller size. I'll order is I have someone to share with! The malts and shakes are nice, but I usually skip and get the froyo next door.

Would give 3.5 if I could, which might go to a 4 if we had dined in. I got the cheeseburger, my companion got the elevation. The burger patty and toppings were good, though if they had asked I would have preferred slightly less well done. Cheese was very nice. The bun was the worst point. Very gummy white bun-would really like to see a nicer option and a whole grain option would be nice. We got our burgers and an order of fries to go. We only had to go about 8 min to get home but even that short trip really affected the food. They put a lot of sauce on the burger and so it was pretty damp and drippy by the time we ate and the fries were just a heavy greasy mess. Some better packaging for take out orders would be really nice. Price was not bad and the patty was tasty, so I'll probably try again, but overall I wasn't wowed.

Not a fan of the veggie burger options (smoky or bland). I prefer to visit their neighbors for a healthy meal that tastes great.

If I ever became a vegetarian, I would come here every single day for their veggie burger (#1- fire roasted). And yes, I definitely can eat this every day. It's yummy, and it doesn't taste like you're eating grass. It is fulfilling and satisfying, yet it doesn't make you feel all gross and unhealthy afterward.

My wife & I went in last night. I haven't had a hamburger in over a year, because I'd react poorly to the sodium in the bun & some of the condiments. These guys were able to accomodate my request for as little salt as possible-in fact, they list wrapping the patty in a lettuce leaf as one of their options-& my blood pressure the next morning was within my normal bounds. While we didn't use their service for ordering ahead this time, we may give it a spin.

Pretty good as far as burger chains go. Can get your burger just how you like it with a good selection of fresh fixins. Fries are ok - I am not a huge fan of the skinny fries but I like that they are cooked in olive oil. Shakes are great.

I second what Tonja says. totally disappointed in quality of food, size and portions. they obviously spent more to make the seating area nice, and not on the food. no taste. buns stale, special sauce, no flavor. greasy burger, save your money. makes five guys look gourmet.

Disclaimer: OK, so I fancy myself a bit of a 'foodie'. With that said... I buy mostly grass-fed beef from WF or Farmer's Markets to make my burgers, which are a big hit with my family and friends, so I was excited for this place to open up so that I had an 'out' for those evenings when we wanted a burger, and won't eat junky fast food. I didn't really love the burger... or the fries.... or the shake really. The thing is I didn't like any of those things for all the same reason: they had no taste. Does grass-fed or organic mean no seasoning? I just like a little sea salt and ground black pepper on meat so I'm not picky or fancy. Even when I tried to drown the fries in ketchup, I could taste the 'no taste' of them. My palate was disappointed, BUT the place was clean, reasonably quick and local, so.... I'll probably go back. OR open a place to give it some competition right next to Island Style Ice Cream in Mount Rainier where you can get DELICIOUS organic shakes;-)

  • Shannon J.

  • Pepe C.

  • Lorena B.

  • Carolyn M.

  • Angela P.

  • Margaret M.

If you must eat a burger, fries and milkshake, there is nowhere better to do it in the County-- you can even do some of it guilt free if you eat the non-meat versions. Even the meat is less guilt producing, as it is free range. A delicious occasional off-diet spot!

  • Gwen G.

  • Christopher S.

  • Nicole R.

Organic grass-fed beef, french fries cooked in olive oil, delightful milkshakes. Quick counter service. Good turnaround on the food. What's not to love about another Elevation Burger store in the Baltimore/DC area?!?

They really seem to be trying.

the cashiers are friendly, they make your food to order so nothing is sitting there forever and the milkshakes are awesome.i just went today to get my free burger (make sure you get your card when you order), which means i frequent the place :-)

  • Rob S.

  • Mocca T.
