What a difference a little gratitude makes for an experience. Visited this Starbucks on a mini vacation. While they were clearly busy and only had 2 associates working the team remained positive and upbeat. I was taken off guard by the courtesy of Jeanine who told me "Your Welcome" when I said thank you. She also thanked all customers after taking their orders. Please note to any Starbucks associate who reads this review : I live in the VA Beach area and the associates in that area do NOT acknowledge me when I tell them thank you. To hear them say thank you is far and few in between. To think I live in the South. I guess "southern hospitality" ain't all it is cracked up to be. Bottom line Hampton Roads Starbucks associates are rude. Enough about them. Chris the barista was also very friendly and was not flustered by the growing crowd. I never worked at Starbucks and don't know the chemical break down :-) of all the drinks but I was pleased with my order. Please give your associates at this location a big pat on the back for a job well done. They have renewed my hope in Starbucks. Oh how I miss the service of the Starbucks in MD.

Let me preface this by saying that I was a Starbucks Barista for 9 years. This store is very disappointing, and I have given them more chances than they deserve. I've had to correct them on how to properly make my drink a few times, and have never really gotten much of an apology for their error. I was in this store yesterday and a customer made a snarky comment about my drink, and the barista laughed and made a snarky comment about my drink as well. This all happened while I was sitting 3 feet away. I came back today, and I just ate a Bacon Gouda breakfast sandwich that was cold in the middle (most likely cooked on the wrong setting). That was the nail in the coffin for me. I work in College Park, and this is the closest store to me aside from the much busier location close to UMD. I will be going to that store moving forward. They are much better.

Gross. I got an iced coffee and had to go back and have them remake it. It tasted awful. The remake tasted exactly the same and the barista was not pleased that I was asking for them to redo it. Clearly it was the coffee itself. It tasted like watery mud puddle water. I am from Seattle and I have been drinking the exact same drink every single morning for years so I am certain what it should taste like. I think they must have not brewed the coffee correctly with enough grounds. It was a total undrinkable waste of my money.

Adore the store, only issue is the fact that they don't wear gloves when preparing food. Also, at busy times they need more staff.

I've come here a few time in the past, every time my drink would taste like burnt steamed milk. Recently I started back and the barista, Octavia, is my ultimate fav!! If I walk in and she's not there, I walk back out.

Another poor customer service experience. I asked for a refund and left! I'm sick and tired of how rude a few of their employees are. Now I drove to Laurel to get my drink and lunch at Panera!

This is a pretty good Starbucks I have never had any problems today that associate was able to assist me beyond assistance and went over and beyond helping me and I was very happy drinks are awesome I've never had any problems with the making my drinks and a snack there always fresh and delicious definitely a place I recommend the line is sometimes very long but if you're patient it'll be well worth the wait

I would give this place three stars except that I can rarely, and I mean rarely, find a place to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee or latte. It's always packed with people on their laptops. The little round tables that can accommodate two people are crammed into every possible free floor space there is. People doze in the "comfy" chairs. It's a nice Starbucks. Clean and plenty of stuff to buy but if the concept of a Starbucks is to be a gathering place to sit and chat and move on, this isn't it. It's like people come in and camp out.

A Snails pace...is a bit faster than this lot. Staff is having fun at least. If the service is this bad, at least no one is working too hard

EXTREMELY rude staff here. Do no go here! Starbucks has its name tainted because of this place. You should see the looks of the guests' face when the staffs speak to them. And they still continue! Rude!!

Love this starbucks location! Luckily for me, I never have to wait but that's probably because I never come during the morning coffee rush. Very nice and helpful staff.

While I think it's very nice to have a Starbucks in this area, this is not my first choice in stores. The space itself is small and cramped, and there never seems to be any vacant seating. If there are open tables, good luck actually finding one with an outlet for your laptop to take advantage of the free wi-fi. The parking lot for this strip mall is a hassle in itself, it always seems like such a frenzy! Everything else is standard Starbucks here.

The early morning staff is phenomenal. They keep orders moving by getting your order before you get to the cashier. I had been there probably only three times and they remember what I order without me telling them. As Starbucks go, I really like how this place is run.

Walked into this Starbucks yesterday and "Damn, Gina!" This girl from Seattle got her hair did and nails did, too (see pic)! The interior used to be dank and I usually expected funky jazz to be playing and the customers to be snapping their fingers. The new interior is bright and airy and there are a few more comfy chairs, so you don't feel as bad when you hoard one for the better part of 3 hours. Still no free Wi-Fi, but you can buy a pay-per-use AT&T card - too bad SBucks won't locate right next door to apartments so that we can "borrow" any of the unsecured networks. I like going to SBucks b/c I find it rather amusing. Take yesterday for example, when I was the 3rd person in line. Lady who was first in line: "Venti, Decaf, triple shot, non-fat, 4 Splenda, extra-hot, no-foam, stirred, Caramel Macchiato with whip and extra Caramel." *Thought Running Through My Head: non-fat and splenda but you get whipped cream and EXTRA caramel? Guy who was next: "(Order that I cannot possibly recall w/out the use of a voice recorder - I have no idea how the barista remembered it)" *TRTMH: Who says SBucks isn't yuppy food? My turn to order: "Hi. I have 2 coupons for free Vivanno's. Could I have 2 Orange-Mango-Banana, please?" The Vivanno's, SBucks new healthy offering, tasted like a banana blended w/ air - the emphasis should be on vivanNO! Next time, I'll stick w/ my white mocha or passion tea lemonade. If you've been living in a cave and have never been to a SBucks--welcome to America, Mr. Taliban fighter--the frappacinos (or fraps) are good and the Tazo hot teas are the biggest waste of money,as they'll simply fill a cup w/ boiling water and hand you a bag or two of Tazo tea. As far as Greenbelt hangout places go, you can't really do much better than this SBucks nor can you do much worse. There aren't many options when it comes to tea & coffee places and the new interior is very inviting. You'll find yuppies-in-training who walk over from the high school at all hours of the day, the place gets packed during peak hours, and aside from the comfy chairs, the seats aren't very nice. Personally, I'll stick w/ 7-11 coffees, where I can put as much cream, hazelnut pumps, and sugar into my coffee as I want, or Dunkin Donuts where ordering coffee is as simple as saying yes when asked, "Cream and sugar?"

The Starbucks in Greenway plaza has been a great place to go for some coffee in the area, I've spent many a days trying to study here back in my college days. It can get packed here pretty quickly so don't be surprised if you can't find an outlet or good seat to sit at. I've known about 5 people who have worked here and they offer some great customer service. They do offer free wi-fi now, you just need to be part of their free rewards program. I've also heard of some local and C-list celebrities come by so you might be able to get in on some small town action!
