I would give less stars if I could. The service was the slowest I have ever witnessed. My food was cold and when I said it was cold they took it back and brought out more cold food. Horrible. The only reason I left a tip was because it is Christmas Eve. If it was any other day she would have gotten nothing.

I used to love the Green turtle. I would hang out with my friends ,celebrate birthdays, etc. And then last October my purse was stolen in the restaurant and they have done nothing to assist the police in my case!! Very disappointing I will not go back!

Have you ever been to Greene Turtle that didn't have terrible food, bad service, and a long wait? I haven't. Someone please put this franchise out of it's misery. If this is an honored Maryland institution then I'm embarrassed to be a native.

My recent visit to The Green Turtle was a pleasant surprise. I've been to this place many times and each time I'd say the food and service was just average. It didn't start off so great when I arrived for a late lunch and there was nobody at the host stand. After waiting a couple of minutes I grabbed a menu and proceeded to seat myself. One waiter saw me and said my server would be right with me. My server, Ben, came over to welcome me and ask for my beverage choice and suggested a couple of apps. I declined the apps but mentioned I was here for a burger. After bringing my tea, I ordered the bacon cheese burger (angus beef). When Ben asked if I'd like a salad (great up sell move) I agreed. My meal was ready in 10 minutes. My first notice was that I was being served a great looking burger, thick and grilled perfectly. As I ate my Green Turtle burger I guessed I may never visit the Red Robin across the street again. My server also brought out a tea refill without being asked and asked if I'd be interested in dessert. Great customer service and a great burger! I'll be back

Alright it's time for an update from this location: Service - a lot better than before. Whether it's the refinement or it's the synergy management has brought to the team it really shows and has made for a pleasurable experience. Food - it's the same at mostly every location and is the same here. There are some changes with a introduction to a frequent luncher card and drink and appetizer specials it's worth the time to visit when ever. Also $2 orange crushes with a Chris Davis crushed ball makes for a fun time, too... I can see a noticeable change throughout the restaurant and it's not a sauna anymore (read my previous review) - 4 stars.

Absolutely terrible! We Have gone back several times to see if it's just a bad day...but all days are bad here. This last time they couldn't have been more rude! Pretty much tried to run us out of the bar way before closing hours with full drinks. Totally disrespectful. Food is awful too. We will never return. Grottos pizza will now get our business! Grottos sports bar is great & awesome food, fabulous service and staff. Your loss green turtle!!!!

Looooong service times and bland, overcooked food makes this a one-time visit. The wife and I are big fans of Applebee's and a friend suggested The Greene Turtle. We have visited, The Green Turtle, restaurants in Laurel and Columbia and wasn't impressed. It's been two or three years since visiting The Greene Turtle so we arrived at the new, The Green Turtle, in Waugh Chapel. It was a Tuesday evening and we discovered this was 'kids eat free night'. Three or four families were already waiting in the lobby. We were told it was a 15-20 minute wait. Thirty minutes later we were called. As we were walked to our table I counted 13 empty tables in the restaurant. The wife commented on all the empty tables and we were both curious about the 30 minute wait as we didn't see that many people leave the restaurant before we were called. Our waitress immediately appeared and indicated she would be right with us. Fifteen minutes later she hadn't returned. In fact, we didn't see her the entire 15 minutes. I went to the Hostess Desk to inquire about our waitress. The Hostess apologized and said she would find someone. In a fairly short time, a new, second waitress, arrived at our table. She indicated the table assignments had been reshuffled and she would now be our server. Earlier I mentioned the wife and I are fans of Applebee's. She loves the BBQ Chicken sandwich and I enjoy the Fiesta Chicken Chopped Salad. The Green Turtle has something similar called the Southwestern Chopped Chicken Salad and the Chick-n-Ranch sandwich. So we ordered these items with well-done fries and I added a bowl of Chili and asked that the Chili be brought out first. Our drinks arrived and we watched many sports on all the TVs which surrounded the dining area. Twenty minutes went by and I had asked our waitress about the Chili, twice. I didn't want it to arrive and then a few minutes later the main course. Each time I inquired she mentioned the kitchen was backed up and food was taking time to get out. I can understand main courses getting backed up but a bowl of Chili... don't understand that one. Chili arrived and it was overflowing the rim of the bowl all over the one, yes, one celophane-wrapped saltine cracker. Now I am being a tad over the top here as soups can spill when filled to the brim. But one cracker for a large bowl of soup? Are crackers so expensive that this restaurant can't provide ... I don't know, two crackers per bowl? Anyway, I asked the waitress for several more crackers. She promptly arrived back at our table with ... wait for it ... one cracker! The Chili had a good flavor, wasn't overly spicy and the meat had good texture. However, by the time I had finished the Chili I had spit out six, large pieces of gristle. I mean these were peanut sized pieces. I had 1/2 of the chili eaten when our main course arrived. The Chick-n-Ranch sandwich for the wife and the Southwestern Chopped Chicken Salad for me. The Chicken for the sandwich had been grilled and was charred. So much so it could almost be considered burnt. The potato roll was fresh, out of the bag, with no mayonnaise as was requested. When I say fresh out of the bag I meant exactly that. The person who assembled the sandwich literally took the roll out of the bag, placed the stuff on it and sent it to us. The roll wasn't grilled, toasted or heated in any fashion. The wife cut the sandwich in half and wasn't happy with the texture of the chicken. It was cooked and the meat was rubbery and didn't look all that great. She ate four bites and said she was done. It was mostly due to the charring which left a bad, burnt flavor. She had also requested well-done fries. The fries we got were cold and half cooked. No crunch and mushy in the middle. My salad looked good, was all romaine leaves/stems and had three pieces of BBQ chicken in the middle. But, it was very watery like the romaine had been washed prior to being added to the plate but wasn't drained. There was very little southwestern dressing, the corn & chopped tomatoes were mushy and overall the salad had no flavor. The chicken had some charing but was so overcooked it was chewy and, just like the salad, flavorless. I ate 1/2 of the salad and could not eat any more. During this time our waitress had stopped at the table one time. By the time I called it quits the wife had flagged her down. We indicated our dislike of the food and asked for a manager. She apologized for the food and left to seek out a manager. It was about 10 minutes later when she returned; the wife indicated it had been 15 minutes. The waitress indicated the manager sent his apologies and indicated he would comp the two meals. We asked why they, the manager, could not come to the table but she didn't have an answer; not that I expected her to have one. Overall our last and final experience with The Green Turtle restaurants was awful, would be voted 'Zero Stars'. We won't be back.

Our wait staff was pleasant, out going and informative. She may have been in the Navy but we Army guys forgave her for that lol. That Peach Lemonade is the bomb especially with the real chunks of peaches within. The Asian wings were on point and the Quesadilla was small but taste. Best best feature since we missed happy hour was the buy one drink get another free on certain items. Will try an entree next time for sure. 4 stars for the service it was like dinner and a show lol

This place must have the worst management ever. I have been here easily 20 times and it's always the same. Order some food and wait for 45 mins to get it. The food is hit or miss. And the menu is actually great, the execution at this location is just terrible. I stopped ordering beers on tap eventually because they have come out warm on many occasions. I was so happy to have a sports bar in Crofton but I truly try to avoid this place now if I can. The location and layout is so appealing that it is hard to avoid when meeting a group of people

  • Ian C.

First off..let me say the wait staff is amazing. Our dude TJ was the best thing about the restaurant. He was fast, attentive, and polite. The bartenders on the other hand: garbage. There's nothing worse than going to a bar for the first time and having the bartenders act like you are a burden because they are too busy taking care of "regulars". I've been to the Turtle at Arundel Mills, and it makes this place look trashy. That Turtle is the best. I won't be back. This place blows. Bar staff ruined it.

Siracha Meatball Flatbread is really good. So is the salad with the pecans and apples. Bar area service is outstanding.

Not bad all. I had the crab pretzel. Pretzel was warm and soft. The crab dip was creamy and crabby! YUM!!!!!!!!!! I will be back!

Stopped by for a Sunday evening dinner. There were four employees gathered around the host stand talking among themselves, and it took a couple of minutes before one of them acknowledged us. At the table, the atmosphere was great for a sports bar. However, service was quite slow and we had to wait a long time for our check after we said we were done with the meal. The food itself was not bad. Hog Hammers are still the BOMB! Sandwiches were average. The chips were nice and crispy, not greasy. Overall based on food I'd give three starts, but had to take one off because of the lackluster service.

    (2)
  • Michael K.

Food was great but as other reviewers have stated the service is very poor. Our server was Mary and she was very slow and not attentive.

  • Naty G.

Service is good/friendly and prompt.. Drinks are not watery... But nothing spectacular... The reason they get a one star instead of a 3 is that I found a long blond hair in my chicken tender... Unfortunately for them it's my first "hair in the food" experience ever... I don't think I'll be back... Completely turned off after that...

This was my first time at GT. Went for a birthday dinner for my cousin. His choice. :-/ The waiter was excellent. Food not so much. I tried the cheesesteak. It was okay. I'm not even really sure what the issue was. I think the cheese was sub-par. Seasoned well but the cheese was not a hit. Tried the rasp. lemonade--it was watered down and bland. There was an abundance of TV's though and I noticed they have a private room.

My first visit to this place ever. Saturday night and we wanted to do anything outside of the house. Good service and food. Live band for entertainment I may stumble back. Drinks were okay and I had the crab dip and smoked bbq wings. He had the philly cheese steak and sd it was not that great. My food was good.

I can't say a whole lot about this place. I think the quote that comes with the two stars says what it needs to; I've experienced better...better Greene Turtles, that is. The food is just as it is as most of them, meh. The service here, though, is where it falls a bit short of the rest. It's very touch and go. Sometimes you get a great server, sometimes you get a bad one. Sometimes the hostesses stare at you, seeming confused, before you speak with them. Sometimes the food takes forever to come out, even when not busy, sometimes it's quick. You just never know what you're gonna get. I tend to only come here for gameday, and that's usually because someone invited me. It's not the worst place ever, just doesn't match up well the some of the other Turtle's in the area.

Excellent service, great bar food, and very very good to the military community. 10% off our tabs at the end of the night, what what?! Or maybe that was just the fact that we ordered 20 Grey Goose shots, countless cocktails, and $600-worth of booze between the eight of us. Either way, we're coming back! Thanks Chris! P.S. They were extra friendly to my friend who brought her giant, but well-behaved Great Dane on the patio. Thumbs up!

We stop in whenever our family is either heading or coming from six flags. The food is priced average with a simple menu of typical bar food. I've always been pleased with our food and drinks and service here. Well the drinks can be a bit watered down which isn't great but other than that I can not complain.

Went for a going away for a coworker but will not be returning. One of my coworkers chicken wings were closer to raw then cooked....terrible. I ordered my food about 5mins before anyone else at my table and got my food about 10/15mins after they got there's and I only ordered fish tacos. I ordered the one that came with three tacos but only two came out. They were terrible. Over seasoned fish to try to flavor the dry taco. They were just terrible.

I decided to try them again after an outing at the Go Kart track not far from them. The whole family was hungry and I had my mind set on the buffalo chicken sandwich. We got a seat right away and our waitress took our order. The french fries was the best thing that came out from all our orders. The Chili nachos was not good, we've experienced better at other Green Turtles. My chicken breast sandwich was not cooked thoroughly except for the ends of the chicken. I ended up eating the corner pieces of the chicken and left the rest. Oh yeah, almost forgot, I ordered a blue moon...it wasn't even cold. That was the last straw. Usually when the food is lousy you can settle for the liquor and atmosphere but this Green Turtle has failed on 2 of the 3 on more than one occasion. I'm done at this location unless something changes.

With all the other restaurants in this area under my belt, I decided to try the green turtle. The staff seemed nice and accommodating, though flustered because of the hockey game going on. Then it happened. We asked for a pitcher since they were on the menu. Our waiter came back and said that they only do pitchers for special events. Even though this isn't a big deal, to have it on your menu and not be willing to sell them seems odd. Strike 1 An 8 dollar tall beer in a plastic cup. Strike two. Then, a frozen patty burger. Strike three. The fries were quite tasty, though another in my group chose the sweet potato fries. I suggest going with the classic. This restaurant has great potential, but it fell quite short of the expectations. There are plenty of other choices in the area. I would suggest checking those out first.

My very first time patronizing this place as I am new to MD . I drive past place everyday going home and suggested it to my coworker to meet. Unfortunately This place was not very hospitable. My coworker and I visited this place this past Thursday and it's certainly not a place I care to patronize again. The waitress Christina made us feel so unwelcome . Literally asking if we wanted the bill 30 mins after we sat down -we hadn't even finished our meals. Even further asking every 10 mins if we needed anything else . And sweeping and cleaning around our tables . What's one to think?I thought maybe the restaurant was closing but it was 9:30 and closing was at 2 am . In addition the raspberry sangrias were weak served with only one shot in a 16 oz glass . As a result we didn't tip at all . Which tipping is something I strongly believe in considering I use to bartend in Chicago. So with that said I don't care to go back to this place .

This is just another chain restaurant with unremarkable food. It's all American style food that was good, but not great. This is a great place to just get together with friends and have drinks. It's a very casual atmosphere with a very friendly and responsive staff.

I'm a frequent customer of the Green Turtle. I stopped in the Gambrills location Sunday and honored to share that I received outstanding service from my server, Allison (Alley). The food was also great. I enjoyed the Southwest BBQ chicken salad. It was fresh and delicious. I feel $10.00 is a little pricey for that particular salad, but still comparable to other restaurants in the area. I also recommend the crab dip. One of my favorites! I'd recommend Turtle to friends, sports fans, or for a family night out. Keep in mind it is a sports bar so if you do not like it loud and prefer a quiet evening out, this is not the place for you. I'm a happy customer and will absolutely return in the near future. If you visit the Gambrills location, request Allison for your server. She was very pleasant, friendly, and fun, and made my experience at the Turtle a great one. Good job Green Turtle!

After reading the poor reviews here, I was very hesitant to try it out, but being a fan of the franchise menu, we thought it deserved a shot. Despite being a very busy Saturday afternoon, we had a fine experience. The food and service in the dining area gave nothing to complain about and we enjoyed our visit. Check out the buffalo chicken nachos and huge, fabulous burgers!

8 adults 2 infants 3 other children We were seated promptly outside (it was a Wednesday night). We placed our orders after a reasonable amount of time. Thirty minutes later, we had our drinks and nothing else and asked the waitress about getting the food for the kids at least. Another fifteen minutes and (at the prompting of starving children) some of us had to go home. In that time, they switched the game that was on tv from one we were watching to one no one cared about. We asked them to change it back (twice)- this was never actually done, though. I have no idea why it took so long. Eventually, okay food was brought to the table for everyone (the 4 of us that had to go because it took WAY too long- our food arrived, apparently, just like everyone else). No food was comp'ed or discounted, despite obvious lack of anything resembling service. At the very least the kids meals should have been taken off the bill (a restaurant with even okay service would have done more than that). The sandwich I got (later, as it had to be brought home) was okay at best and certainly not worth the wait.

This was my first time at this Green Turtle and I was very impressed with the abundance of TV screens and a little less impressed with the food itself. The salads were fresh, but small (there's really no difference in the size of an entree-sized portion or a side salad portion) and the wings were good, but not great. Beyond that, nothing else on the menu even peaked my interest. Yes, it's a sports bar, but I have been spoiled by really good sports bars in the past, it seems, because this one wasn't cutting it. The desserts especially were sort of sad. We wound up getting a cookie sundae and the cookie wasn't every warm and wasn't very good to be honest. Still, I would give this place a go again simply for the great sports ambiance and the fantastic set up of TVs throughout the space and smaller ones at every booth so you don't have to crane your neck to catch any play by plays. The wings saved this sports bar as well. While it wouldn't be my first choice to catch another game, it wouldn't be my last either.

This GT is in a prime location and is setup great inside and out for watching sports. I stopped by at 11am bc i was in the area and needed a quick bite. The place just opened so i was the only one in there. I ordered a chk ceasar salad. Easy enough right? It came out about 20 mins later and the chicken was burnt. I looked at it and took one bite and all i tasted was burnt food. Everyone makes mistakes but how can you serve that to your only customer. I got up and told the waitress the problem and explained i was going to leave. She was polite and professional and asked if she could fix it. No thanks, there are plenty of choices nearby.

Horrible food and below average service. We started the night with a wait of 45 minutes to seat three people. Watched two parties of 4 come in after us and were seated first even though they arrived 10 minutes after us. After bringing up the concern the hostess realized her mistake was from a distraction (texting on her phone). We sat down and were greeted by the waitress. She got our drink order wrong twice, keeping in mind we ordered beer. We ordered the buffalo chicken nachos as appetizer specifically requesting no blue cheese. Needless to say we got some other tables appetizer and had to correct the waitress. We finally got our appetizer and had no chicken on it with extra blue cheese. Apparently that was another table. We finally get our beers and appetizer after 20 minutes of mind numbing moments from our waitress. We order dinner and here starts another round of headaches. I ordered a cheeseburger, my friend orders baby back ribs and my other friend orders the crab cakes. My burger was completely burnt on one side but soft on the other. The baby back ribs were so over cooked he needed three drinks just to eat a 1/4 of them. The crab cakes were so small you could fit the whole thing on a spoon. Just when I thought we were only ones having a horrific experience I was wrong. The customers seated to right and also behind us were having the same issue. All three of us were so upset and the manager was so busy dealing with the complaints from others we just paid our bill and left. If your looking for a beer and the game your fine. If you want a quality meal while out with friends venture somewhere else.

Good Food, Good Atmosphere, Clean We went here on Friday night to get food as everything else in the Mall area had a long wait time. We waited 10 minutes and were seated. The place is active, clean, and the service was outstanding. I had the apple pecan salad and it was amazing. I know, you are thinking, how can a salad be amazing, but it was fresh and tasty! We also had wings and they were very accommodating in mixing the sauces on the order. The place has a nice vibe and you feel relaxed. This was my first visit, but I would definitely go back. Pleasantly surprised!

Dined at the Greene Turtle in the Waugh Chapel shopping complex on Aug 8 2014. Family of four, seated right away and the restaurant was mostly deserted for a Friday at lunchtime...that should have set off the alarm bells. Ordered right away and waited over 30 minutes to receive our food. Our waitress, Katie, came by and apologized for the delay and notified us that the manager would stop by to talk to us. The manager gave a half-hearted apology for the slow kitchen staff, asked if we needed anything else and was never seen by us again. The bill before the tip was $45+ (no discount for the extremely SLOW food service) for two kids meals, chicken strips w/ fries, side salad and a bowl of soup along with two root beers and lemonades. The only positives from the dining experience were our waitress and the hostess/greeter. I'd recommend going elsewhere to spend your hard earned money. Extremely slow service and high priced mediocre food for $45...we won't be coming back.

Not the best Greene Turtle location we've visited. Went on a football Sunday a few months ago and many hours before the game the place was already sort of 'staked out' by people awaiting the games. They were loud, not ordering anything, kept moving around and annoying the servers which soured the overall mood, and pretty much spoiled the experience. Food was standard OK three star Greene Turtle stuff.

After poor customer service from the hostess' and a vow to not return to this Greene Turtle again, I was contacted by management and feel they've handled the situation now that they know about it. Any other time we've been here we have enjoyed the service, food and drinks. It's a great place for us to watch the games but still family friendly enough to bring our one year old. The crab flatbread pizza is always a must and my husband loves the soups! I think after receiving excellent custom service from management and always good service from the servers, we will return.

Meh is the prefect way to sum it up. I'm sure there are some things you could get on the menu that are good, I think I just got one of the more forgettable items. First, our sever did a great job, but having said that the entire operation ran extremely slow. I was there on a Friday night, so you always expect there to be a little bit of a delay because restaurants get busy. This experience was way too slow however. We only ordered two drinks and two sandwiches and it took nearly an hour and a half to get. Second, this is a sports bar. Atmosphere is great, just what we were looking for on this type of night. There advertisement suggested ordering a pitcher of beer online, I asked about it and the server said they only serve them on days there is football on. But why? I why didn't the online ad say that. And if you're really not that into serving pitchers, then why create an ad in the first place! Not the biggest deal to me, but not thrilling either. Lastly, the food. This is one of those places where you look at the menu items and then realize if you want anything like fries or onion rings you have to add them as a side. I find this to be annoying no matter where it is. I mean, this is a sports bar it's not exactly Ruth's Chris Steak House .. why am I buying the sides separately? I ordered the Chicken cheese steak sandwich, it said it was to be served with peppers and onions, sadly there were none of either. Sandwich overall was OK, but you know when you're eating out and think to yourself, I could have made this better at my house ... you're not going to probably venture out for it again. This strikes me as a great place for some beers and the appitizers, but not a place you probably want to sit down and eat a whole meal at. Appitizers actually looked pretty good, saw a lot of people ordering them. Maybe that's what i'll do if there's a next time.

I did a quick stop thru to have lunch with my family in the middle of the afternoon and everything was good! Meaning, the service was good, the food was good and the ambiance was just good! It is nothing to write home about, but solid! I did enjoy my food and everyone was nice and accommodating! Nothing bad to say at all, but nothing knocked me unconscious with amazement either! Good place to catch a game with friends and and fun!!

It's as good as it gets when BREEZY is bartending! She is quick on her feet and very friendly! My favorite foods her are the Buffalo Chicken Nachos, the Hog Hammers and the Crab pizza (sooo good). My favorite day to go is Wednesday for the 2 4 1 special. And, I always visit when the band Pasadena is playing on the outside deck.

it only gets one star because that is the minimum that I can put. I have been there 3 times. Each one a terrible experience! Great set up - service is T E R R I B L E-- to the point we asked to speak to a manager - but that was terrible as well. Totally pointless... Anyways, don't expect food or drinks... basically expect a place to sit with NO service. The guy bartender is horrendous- he is not busy and will never get a drink nor a menu (that you asked for several times). I live in walking distance to this establishment... and will NEVER go back. Kinda stinks because it looks like it has potential - but looking at other reviews, lets see how long this place lasts. Save your cash, never go there.

Not sure why GT is only getting 2.5 stars, this place is great. The staff and the food are excellent. The only problem is that, though the outside patio is spacious and heated, it isn't big enough to accommodate everybody especially during games. But to offset the large crowds, there are numerous TVs throughout the bar, patio and dining areas. They even sometimes have live entertainment. My favorites are the wings w/ chesapeake seasoning and the turkey burger (hold the corn salsa). PS, I like Wednesdays (5-9p) best b/c the drinks are 2-for-1.

I never had a bad time at Green Turtle. This was a guys night out to unwind and relax from one of those weeks. It was crowded with a 45 minute wait. Despite the wait, I was not upset given the I expected it to be hectic on a friday night. By time we got seated the waiter was quick to assist us, but became distracted at time. Service: The waiter was quick initially when we took our seats. He took our drink orders and returned them to us relatively quick. My guest ordered his appetizer. I was undecided at first and when it came time for me to want to place my appetizer order ,the waiter kept walking by the table not checking to see if I was ready. Eventually he stopped by and I was able to order my appetizer and my main course. Quality: I ordered the Sliders for my appetizer which we really good. They tasted like they could have been cooked a little more, but all in all they were on point. My main course was Fleet Street Chicken, which could have been better. I wanted to try something different, I usually get wing which you cant go wrong with. The chicken in the Fleet Street was on point. It was the vegetables that were not good at all. They were bland and undercooked. My shock top beer was PERFECT! Recommendation: I recommend trying the beef sliders and a draft beer. Also, try the burgers. They are on the money!!

A great restaurant and sports bar. I recommend ordering the buffalo chicken nachos or the wings.

Me plus two went for lunch at noon on Monday. The place nearly empty. Service was good. We all got the take 2 lunch special. Apple pecan salad was very good. I liked the ham and cheese too. Others got crab flat bread, garden salad, and the club. No complaints. I'd go back.

Worst possible experience tonight. Ordered carry out at the bar at 6:16pm, had the usual warm beer in a warm glass. Our bartender went back to check on our food after about 30 minutes. At 40 minutes she apologized and said they were looking for the shrimp for our salad. At 7:10 we asked to have our credit card deducted and went somewhere else to get dinner. It is ridiculous to wait so long for fish tacos a burger and salad. We had stopped going because we had some other bad experiences but like the bartenders and thought we would go back. This turtle was not busy tonight but supposedly is the most profitable of this ownership group, they have soured us forever as I am tired of getting poor service. This is a zero star restaurant that is most highly discouraging. I feel bad the bartender lost out on a 12 dollar tip on a 54 dollar tab. You would have thought the manager would have weighed in to help, but instead delegated it to a busy bartender. Puzzling how he gladly refunded our card and lost the restaurant money. Thankfully I will not have to review this place any more.

I always wondered about The Greene Turtle restaurants in the area and since a new one opened in Gambrills, I decided to meet my sis and bro in-law there. MISTAKE! I will never have to wonder again because this place sucks. All of our drinks were extremely weak, it was very warm in the restaurant and it literally took over 30 minutes for our food to be brought out. Our food consisted of a cheesesteak for me and a Reuben wrap for my bro in-law...how does that take over 30 minutes? On top of all that, they had heavy metal/hard rock blasting in the restaurant from the time we entered until we left. I've never been to a restaurant where heavy metal was the only thing playing the entire time....truly annoying. They have zillions of TV's, so if you came for a game, I guess it would be okay. The food and the drinks...METHINKS NOT!!

Good food, good times, family had a blast. One of those rare times when my wife got her salad and it tasted great!

With the Baltimore Gran Prix in town, what better place to watch, than the Green Turtle, right? Big Mistake. No, the service was quite pleasant, what was difficult to get around was the amount of flies swarming over everything on our table. After settling, and ordering, the pests went for the folks across from us, and we drank our cocktails in peace. Once our appetizers arrived, all was good, until the hair floated up in dipping cheese for my pretzels. Disgusted, and not wanting a case of Staphylococcus Aureus I returned the appetizer, and contacted the manager. He apologized, in a manner that felt rehearsed, and offered to take it off the bill. We said take everything off the bill. He reluctantly agreed, and we swiftly exited, searching for a shot of penicillin. If I could give this review 0 stars I would. The worst part about it? I missed the Gran Prix.

Crabby melt and flat bread pizza were great. We got the lunch pick 2 deal. My husband also enjoyed the French onion soup. Service was fine. We enjoyed watching as much sports as we could handle on all of their big screen tvs.

It was a Saturday afternoon and the kids were doing a little shopping at Target. We just wanted to stop in to take a few shot but, that didn't happen. It was no room at the bar and you couldn't take advantage of the same happy hour prices at the regular tables. This resulted in having no shot in the evening. Place was clean but very crowded. Several people were waiting to get a table. Seems like it would have been a nice place just to chill.

Service was crazy slow. Waiter was so forgetful. Food was bland (we got better crab cakes from Giant down the street). The worst part of our dining experience however, had nothing to do with the food or the service. It had to do with the children of other patrons, who seemed to think the whole place was a playground. I really don't want to eat my dinner while someone else's kid hangs on my chair or goes running by me. I'm not talking about little guys either, think teens and pre-teens. Forewarning, if you were expecting a quieter evening.

This was a disaster on both fronts. The fault of the establishment and the fault of other clientele. As I said, both fronts. Let's start with the clientele since the establishment doesn't have full control of that. We were seated in the outdoor bar area by our request because it was just too loud inside due to screaming children everywhere. We figured the noise of traffic and trucks on route 3 would be less irritating than the out of control kids. What we didn't expect was just as many out of control kids at the outdoor bar area. There wasn't a single family there that maintained any sense of control of their kids. Ages from 4 -13 literally running around. There were even these two pre-teen girls that hovered around my wife while she tried to eat her dinner. It bothered her immensely and she's a school teacher! People, control your children! Allowing them to be within two feet of my wife screaming and screeching while she tries to have a meal is completely unacceptable. Now for the establishment. It took 25 minutes for the bartenders to pour me a beer. They were too busy standing behind the bar talking to each other to fulfill the order put in by our waiter. Our waiter was equally inattentive. However, I'm not sure if that was his fault or just an extension of the fact that he had to run an obstacle course around the children. It took an hour from the time we sat down until our food arrived. At that point, we ate quickly, paid the bill, and promptly left. Even though we ate quickly, I can still tell you the food was mediocre at best. Mark this place under my list of "never again."

This is usually a great local chain for a quick bite of pub food with a generous selection of beers and TVs wall-to-wall. We were excited to see this new location as it would be within walking distance. Our review of the Gambrills location is easy: Mediocre food, indifferent food service, great beer selections. We will avoid it unless someone else is paying.

The Green Turtle has possibly some of the worst food ever, but it's a great place to watch football!!! Trust me, the food doesn't not keep me coming back.

Ok, my two cents. On one hand it's a place for "20 somethings" to grab a few drinks and grub. On the other hand it's a place for soccer parents to take the kids. Let's just hope the two groups are on opposite sides of the restaurant, because it does get loud! We've eaten there twice and I'm just not that impressed since I don't fit into either category. The food is just ok. No inspiration put into it at all. Like an Applebee's with lots of TVs.The burgers looked decent but I haven't had one yet. I much prefer another establishment in the same shopping center...starts with an "H",y'all.

I have been a regular to this location for over a year, and am currently a member of the mug club. However the past few times I have come here I have been greatly let down, and I have noticed a patterend. Whenever bar tender Tim is working I wait over 15 mins for a drink EVEN AFTER ASKING. Everytime I find a bartender I like they seem to move on to a better job which at this point I can't say I blame them. My point is if your looking for a drink near the area you're better off going to red robin or houlihans.

Three strikes and their out. Tonight was our third visit to the Green Turtle Gambrills. Five of us in the party and each visit we went for burgers. Three times they messed up the order. Either we didn't get what we ordered or it wasn't cooked as requested. If they can't do burgers well I would hate to see how they handle their other menu items.

Of course no one would ever come here if they were looking for an excellent meal but the food is so oily I can't even stand it. Last time I went about a month ago I wanted to sit outside for happy hour. I asked the hostess if happy hour was available outside and after going to ask someone she came back and said yes. When we got our bill however, none of the happy hour prices were applied to the check. I asked the waitress about it who said she didn't know it was happy hour and after another twenty minutes she updated our check but it took a few tries for her to get it right. Just not worth the hassle for bad food in my opinion. Drinks are nothing special either.

The service is absolutely horrible out on the patio. We waited for quite some time for our drinks while our waitress flirted with the guys next to us and then argued with another waitress. I had high hopes for this place, but they clearly need better management and staff members.

The food was ok, and the service was mediocre, We sat at the bar and ordered dinner. The food didn't take too long to come out , but it took forever to get the bartenders attention to place the order. This establishment has a lot of young people working here that need better training/ management guiding them. Hopefully they will get this and self improve in the near future.

First time last time. I went to this place to check it out. Anyway we get seated it took over 10 minutes just for a waitress to come say hello. After we did order it took hour+ plus just to get our meal. The food was not good at all.

Our server was great, however I don't think I will ever return! We called ahead to reserve tables for a large party, the hostess a ditzy girl named Sarah said we had to email the GM, because they do not accept reservations. She provided me with a faulty email. We went in when they opened and asked to speak with the GM about making a reservation, again we were told only he can make the reservations and that he would be out shortly...20min later no GM but ditzy Sarah was joined by her equally as ridiculous counterpart Ben. Needless to say they were no help. The customer service sucks, the menu options are limited and if you lose an item (as someone in our party did) don't expect them to take the 60seconds it would take to do a quick once over while you're on the phone or better yet don't ever expect a return call. This young immature staff knows how to ruin what was supposed to be an easy family outing.

If you like to watch TV, this is your place. If you like to have a meal, you might want to think twice. Service very poor, food not worth the trip or money. While they have a decent draft beer selection, the wait staff could only recite the domestic beers - had to walk to the bar to see what was actually on tap after the waitress did not know.

Service is slooooooooooooow and forgetful. We sat down to dirty flatware. We had to remind the waiter twice to get clean flatware. There was hair in my kids apples! Final straw - asked for mayo for my burger and waited 20 mins before the server returned after having to ask again. Ridiculous!!! What was most disturbing, the server seemed oblivious to the problems. He never apologized or offered to do better. I got so frustrated I asked for a manager. The manager and general manager both were very gracious and did what they could to save the experience. But maybe too little too late...

Great food and service. Good menu selections. Reasonable prices. Overall a great place - just gets noisy during games. I was seated in a family area recently but there was a group of adults who should have watched their vocabulary while watching the game because there were a lot of children in the immediate area.

A friend was visiting, we love the one in Hanover, so thought we could take her to this one...wrong! The waitress was a bit out if it. We had to repeat ourselves several times. Took her 3 times to bring the correct iced tea. I will say though, the crab cake sandwich was banging!

The Green Turtle in Gambrills is AWFUL...the service is terrible and the food is sloppy. I have been to this location when it is busy and not busy and the wait staff has always been terrible and slow. Last time I went I requested a booster for my child, 10 minutes later no one came and I got up and went searching for a booster myself. I gave it one last shot but they failed me again, I will not be going back to this location.

Food was pretty good. Service was iffy. This place is new so in all fairness they are probably still working the kinks out. Food came out separately for us and not exactly as ordered. Staff was friendly enough but slow. I will still go back and try again.

I went here once on a weekday night in late Oct. The children running around makes the place really noisy. Our server brought out two meals we did not order. He, of course, replaced the meals with one of our correct meals. I realized after I started eating that I did not have a Greek salad, but a Cobb salad. The food was okay tasting and there was an adequate amount. It took forever to get our check to get out of there. The whole dining "experience" took an hour and half! Never again!

I've gone to this location several times now and did buy the mug because really, you get to keep it forever and you supposedly get $1 off each beer. HOWEVER you need to pay attention because that does not always happen. I was going over my last bill and saw that I was charged different amounts for the same drink in the same mug. Sometimes charged for a "16 oz" at regular price instead of mug price. Could be from inexperienced employees, not sure. The service is just ok, sometimes it's hard to get a bartenders attention when you are up at the bar and it's not even super busy. I may be a little spoiled by being a "regular" at a couple other places where they get my drinks quickly though. The outdoor patio area is great, nice and big with a fireplace and there is a window open to the bar. I have decided that I will not run a tab here any more because I don't know what is going to be on it or how much whichever bartender is going to charge me. The food is just ok, bar food and service is just ok. The reason I like it is because so many people come here, especially when there are games on so if you come up with one other person or even by yourself and you live around here, you are bound to know someone and maybe a bunch of people so it's great for socializing. I saw a couple of the reviews below about kids. I haven't noticed kids around but we typically go there later in the evening. This place is more of a bar, louder environment, NOT for a "quiet" meal. Expect noise and excitement!

Slow service both times I went there. By the time my seafood sampler arrived it was cool to the touch. Go for a beer, or to watch a game not for a good hot meal. Large bar. Plenty of seating in the restaurant and dozens of TVs to watch. The Annapolis Greene Turtle is much better at the moment.
