Wow! A very good deli! How have I missed this place for so many years? I got the Turkey Avocado which was very good. Have to say I was mainly impressed by a restaurant that can put mayo on a sandwich without slathering on disgusting amounts of it (like Jersey Mike's, Subway, Quiznos, or what seems like every place these days). Turkey was moist, sandwich well balanced, good flavor all around. The pita was also very good. Onion rings were crisp and not greasy. Kind of expensive ($3.50) for a small side. Looking forward to coming back to try more menu items. Restaurant was clean and well staffed. Service wasn't overly friendly, but was very efficient. I'll be back!

The Reuben $7 (4/5 NOMs). oh hot corn beef mama. Now this is a great greasy lunch sandwich. Perfect greasy combination for hungry person :)

I ended up here on accident. I made the wrong turn from the freeway and did not feel like going the other way to Potbelly sandwiches. So since I was craving a sandwich I looked on Yelp for nearby places. Wow deli was the closest to my location in traffic; the reviews seemed ok; so I went with it. I arrived around 3p and it looked like they were closing up since the chairs were turned upside down on the table; but the door said they're open until 4p. I glimpsed at the menu as I was starving and did not want to be too picky. I saw a philly cheese steak on the menu and ordered that. I like my philly cheese steak with meat, cheese and mushrooms; nothing else and they made it just fine. I also grabbed a bag of chips and a raspberry crumb cake dessert. The Philly cheese steak was good. I would go back here if I crave that again. The raspberry crumb cake was good; but cost about $2.50. I thought that was lot for dessert; I can get stuff cheaper at Starbucks... All in all this place is good to try if you want something quick. Based on the other reviews it looks like they have wraps and other sandwiches worth trying.

Okay this is my third time here. But the last two time it seems they are going down hill. Today was my third time, I got the philly steak and cheese and the sandwich is dry and no flavor with is not like them. The deli is clean and bright. The ppl are nice and fast. But today the sub is very dry and they didn't cook my peppers. I really hate my sub today. But I'm back in my office and can't go back. Check your food before you leave.

Didn't expect much from the looks of this place. But holy crap. That egg sandwich I got here was so good I wanted to get seconds

Great sandwiches! Their Turkey-Avocado sandwich is tasty! Served on what seemed like a toasted Pita Bread. Would definitely eat here again!

Love this deli. They have the best turkey breast made daily. Great for a quick lunch.

Consistent moderately priced lunch sandwiches. Been going for many years and the food quality stays the same no matter what you order. Highlights are the Washington Cheesesteak, the Italian Cold Cut, Turkey Avocado and Sophia's Grilled Chicken. Actually, the highlight are the fries. Perfect every time with a dash of Old Bay Seasoning.

I stopped by to pick up a quick lunch and opted for the gyro. The gyro is small in size and is not executed in the same style of a traditional gyro. I can't say it was really good or really bad; it was exactly down the line. There were some thin slices of tomato, a generous amount of shredded lettuce, and two thin slices of the meat with the yogurt cucumber sauce. The pita bread was crispy and it seemed like it was pressed flat like a panini. I'll reserve judgment until I try the other hot sandwiches here. The service was quick and friendly, and it wasn't too slammed during the Friday lunch hour.

No pork roll (Taylor ham). He didn't even know/understand what I was asking for. Maybe it's an MD thing I don't know. .50 for cheese on a breakfast sandwich? Seems a bit excessive. Sandwich was fine but it's kind of hard to screw up a breakfast sandwich. Meh

Husband and kids enjoyed their food, as did I! The ingredients are really fresh despite them getting ready to close. The sandwiches and wraps have a homemade taste to them. I would love to come back and try more of their menu items! :)

Wow Deli is one of the best kept secrets in Montgomery County. I simply cannot belive there is not a line out of the door during the lunch rush. As a commuter, I only eat there during the week so I cannot testify for the weekend but there is always ample room to sit for small work groups to sit and enjoy an extremely diverse menu of great food. Try as I might do not think I have gotten anything other than their Turkey (real, not processed lunch meat) and Cheese sandwich on white bread with mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion, Mystic (one of very few places on Montgomery County I have seen Mystic) and an order of fries. It is THAT good and I have been there dozens of times. If something as simple as that is as incredible as it is, I can only imagine the rest of the menu. The customer service is outstanding, the same two women are always beind the counter and always smile acknowledging their return customers. Look to spend about $8-10 if you get a "combo" and you will be extremely satisfied, same as your appetite. The one negative is not a knock on the deli itself. The parking situation is pretty sparse and the traffic congestion in that shopping center is awful, just like the immidiate surrounding area of the intersection of Shady Grove and 355. If you are on a limited time frame for lunch be cautious as this area consistently takes much longer than alloted.

Yum, stop reading reviews. Read the menu, pick what you want and order, it will be good. Why 4 stars? Prices are high, but food is good. Owners are great, always friendly. They are normally busy, I would recommend calling ahead for take out.

I love wow deli, they have the best fresh sandwiches and subs ever. They make them in front of you and are always so good. Highly recommend this place for breakfast & lunch. Also the people that work there are very nice & if you go there enough they remember your name.

I have been getting lunch here (and sometimes breakfast) at least once a week for the past 5 years. The sandwiches are always consistently prepared and there is enough variety not to get tired. I particularly like that the turkey is fresh and not supermarket lunchmeat quality. The fries are seasoned with old bay, and excellent. They have plenty of condiments and toppings available, and are good about substitutions and requests. They remember the names of all of the regulars and they move the crowd well during lunchtime.

Turkey avocado = delicious healthy. Fresh sliced avocado, thick roasted turkey and shredded lettuce. And a side of o-rings

I love this deli for lunch. The food is always fresh and fast. They are pretty busy at lunch and there is not really room to wait for your food to be prepared. I recommend going just before noon or after 1:00. Try the tuna melt! It is my favorite and is great every time I order it.

  • Heba E.

Wow! I went to Wow deli for one thing and one thing only. The Turkey Avocado sandwich everyone was raving about. I must say, those reviews are spot on! Tasty home style sandwich. Turkey is made of real carved meat, not the garbage you find at grocery stores or other sandwich shops. Fresh vegetables, creamy avocado, and just the right amount of mayo to bring everything together all tucked in a perfectly toasted pita bread. Service was friendly and fast. Must note though that I went way past lunch time so the shop was almost empty. Can't wait to try some other sandwiches, their menu looked quite extensive. Too bad my office isn't really that close (or maybe that's fortunate for my waist and wallet?) and they're only open M-F office hours.

If you're in the area and looking for a good breakfast, head to Wow Deli, order the breakfast cheesesteak, and throw some sriracha sauce on that bad boy before you walk out the door. Eggs are made fresh with your order, the nicely minced up steak is some of the best I've had outside Philly, and the roll was the perfect density to manage the filling without going soggy or dominating your bites.

Stopped in based on Yelp reviews, and enjoyed a Thanksgiving preview turkey-cranberry sandwich. There were lots of other attractive options, including burgers, wraps, and hot sandwiches, but the turkey-cran was an excellent choice. The real sliced turkey breast, fresh baked roll, and tasty cranberry sauce made a delicious combination. This place is way above the chain sandwich joints... a solid 5 star lunch stop.

I have been to Wow Deli twice now, and have been pleased each time. By going at a time other than noon, I have avoided the lunchtime rush. The service is matter-of-fact, and not particularly friendly. It's not unfriendly, either, and it is efficient. I think the brusqueness may be cultural. The first time I went, I had one of Wow's famous Philly-style cheesesteak sandwiches and fries. Both were excellent! The cheesesteak was a generous portion of Wow's house-cooked, flavorful, tender rib eye, sliced perfectly, and served on a delicious roll with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms and just the right amount of cheese. The fries were cooked to perfection and served very hot. Today, I tried Wow's Reuben sandwich and onion rings. The Reuben was very good. Corned beef, when cooked to my liking, is flavorful and very tender. It tends to fall apart rather than slicing neatly. Wow's corned beef was cooked perfectly. The other thing I love at Wow Deli is that they serve freshly brewed, unsweetened iced tea. Iced tea is a personal obsession of mine, and I am unwilling to accept anything other than freshly brewed. The only negative for me is that Wow serves food on Styrofoam plates. Styrofoam seems to be ubiquitous in the mid-Atlantic, but I hate it. Styrofoam is not sustainable (not biodegradable), and I believe it has an adverse effect on the wholesomeness of food that touches it. Even worse: my onion rings were very hot today (a good thing), but they melted part of the Styrofoam plate. I hate the idea that along with a delicious onion ring, I ate melted plastic. Call me quirky, but from now on, I am always going to dock a place a point if my food touches Styrofoam.

Their chicken gyro is to die for. I work across the street from Wow and I could never get tired of going here. The cashiers are super nice and the food is awesome. Everything is fresh including their fruit salads. I don't believe I've ever had a bad experience here. Love them!

I've been going to Wow deli for years (since it was converted over from being a Philly Mikes cheesesteak shop if I remember correctly). They make some great sandwiches there! I think everything that I have had a Wow has been fantastic and the ownership is always looking to put interesting and creative sandwiches onto the menu. The only thing I will say to give some additional color is that I don't really consider this place a true "deli". I don't think I've ever been to a place like this that is run by a Korean family and thought of it as a deli, mainly because it never tends to be about the quality of the meat and bread. Don't get me wrong, they use some great ingredients at Wow, but it's not like the sandwich shops I have been to in MA, NY/NJ, and PA where you want to order a sandwich and 1/2 lb of sliced deli meat to go. So, long story short...great place to grab a tasty lunchtime meal...but it still leaves me searching for my good local deli!

WOW!!! i adore this deli!! i have been going for awhile now and have NEVER been disappointed in my lunch choice!!! I've had the chicken and tuna salad, the grilled chicken caesar wrap, chef salad wrap, hot turkey w/ provolone and my go-to when i'm torn is the Wow Club!!! The fries are a little pricey but none the less seasoned well and darn tasty!!! Parking sucks, so be warned.

I have eaten at wow a couple times a year. I had the Philly cheese steak combo. I thought the sub had great flavor and the French fries were well seasoned. I remember why I don't eat there often because the parking is awful. The service is ok but if you want a good Philly steak you should try wow.

I love this place. I wish it were open 7 days a week. I have gone for both breakfast and lunch. I would gladly pick this place over an IHOP any day for breakfast. There cheese steaks are phenomenal and they have a great variety for such a small shop. I plan on going for years.

Cute Deli, many drink/cookie/chip options, but the sandwitched are subpar. I got a veggie sandwitch which was supposed to be full of different vegetables and hummus, and all it turned out to be is a pita full of lettuce. Maybe there was a smudge of avocado in there somewhere, but i didnt find it. Tried some chicken sandwitches there as well, wasnt impressed.

Fast service and I loved my spinach/feta sandwich! Nice little deli. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could!

Okay I was not actually "wowed" myself. I (sadly) didn't like their home cooked turkey, which tasted bitter to me. I think this is one instance where I would have preferred some cured chemicals. Also my wrap was off somehow. Not enough somethin' somethin' to get me excited. This was an experimental visit, it being somewhat close to campus (MC). The next time I think I will drive the opposite direction on the Pike and go to my standby of Chipotle. Yeah, I was that not in love with Wow Deli.

I walked by this place while eating dinner at a nearby Chinese restaurant (name escapes me now) and was intrigued by the cheesesteaks sign in the window. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I had to go, and I was very satisfied. The cheesesteak was delicious and large enough without being overwhelming. I also added the fries and soda combo, and the whole order cost $10.32. Not bad in this day and age. I will be back to try the other sandwiches on the menu, but I think the cheesesteak here is better than the ones sold by South Street Steaks in Gaithersburg. If I want a cheesesteak, I'm coming here.

This place is great for lunch! I heard about them from my parents who read about them in the Post, and told me I should try it since I work nearby. SO glad I did - the food is always amazing, and despite it looking crowded we've never had a problem getting a seat. My favorite things on the menu are the California Dream (hummus on a pita!! so good!!!), the Turkey & Avocado, and oddly enough, the onion rings. I know that this is awesome for healthy food, and in theory I should be all yay, healthy food! since it's hard to find, but OMG, the onion rings are SO GOOD. They are like healthy people kyptonite, and I am powerless against them. In summary - They're fast, super nice, and have good tasting healthy food. I would recommend them to everyone, as long as they don't take my seat during lunch. ;D

Their sandwiches are average, about as good as you would get if you bought rolls at a grocery store and made a hoagie yourself. Overpriced food and no customer service. Reminds me of soup nazi from Seinfeld. They gave me a hard time and charged extra for heating up a "cold" sandwich. Seriously, it takes about 30 seconds to microwave it. Then they talked some Korean and started laughing, I can only assume about me.

I can't believe I've lived in Gaithersburg my whole life and jus found this place recently. It is the best deli I've probably ever been to. They have amazing sandwiches. I usually get the steak and cheese. They also have all good dessert bars and really friendly staff.

3 1/4 stars. This place used to be a Philadelphia Mike's back a couple of years back. They were pretty busy during the work week. I was curious if they were able to keep up with the previous owner's cheesesteaks. I ordered a chicken cheesesteak combo. It was around $10. The servings were decent. They used a crusty deli bread. Their chicken was in chunks (instead of the chicken steak um's) as i was used to before. The chicken was done well. The sub came with all the fixin's. Fries came with old bay on top. Quality was good, Very clean establishment, and great service. Why only 3.25 stars? Everything is status quo, a typical deli, nothing more, nothing less. Would I go again? In a place full of unique, competitive, and less expensive cuisine, this would not be my go to places if I was to go out and eat.

  • Kevin N.

I've come twice for lunch and once for breakfast. I've gotten the New Yorker, Chicken Cheesesteak, and French Toast breakfast, all of which have been superb. The meat is cooked to perfection, and the sauces/cheeses enhance the flavor so well. Since it's located in a relatively corporate area, a lot of office workers go there on their lunch break, but the wait isn't bad (5 - 10 mins) since the spot is still relatively hidden from the masses. Only downside is it's closed on weekends. Great, friendly service. Koreans know how to put out good food!

3.5 stars. Wow deli is truly wow (yea, I said it). I am not in the area as much anymore, but I stopped in to meet a friend for lunch here a few times. The huge sandwiches I had were all great, the fries were crisp and fresh. The condiments and other toppings for the sandwiches were also very tasty. I nice addition to the area if you are in the mood for a quick lunch.

A solid 3 1/2 stars. Still on a search of a good sandwich shop in Gaithersburg, i've decided to get my tuna melt fix at Wow Deli. The deli sits in a small shopping center in a kind of awkward location (driveway to that shopping center is a zoo during the lunch hour) and appears to be operated by an Asian family. I got there right in the middle of the lunch rush, and they were very busy. The interior is rather small, and with not much decor to speak of. One really big positive about this place - its is very clean! I even looked on the top of a coffee brewing machine and all the counters. Spotless. Quite impressive for such an establishment. The sandwiches themselves seem to be average. My tuna melt was fried in too much butter, that had a bit of a after-taste. The tuna salad itself was ok, but nothing special. On par with any other standard sandwich shop. However, while i was waiting for my order, i've seen good-looking fresh veggies making their way onto other sandwiches. There is a counter behind the glass, where you can see orders being prepared. If i'm ever there again, that's what i'll order. My least favorite part aside form off-tasting butter fried tuna melt? The bread they use looks and tastes like the inexpensive pre-packaged supermarket stuff. Not awful, but meh. Verdict? My search for good tuna melt continues. Wow Deli is ok for cheap lunch if you happen to be in the area, and budged is an issue. Opt for a cold sandwich with lots of veggies.

This place is a hidden lunch spot in Rockville. Truly a locals favorite. Wow Deli is a big favorite of the office. Love their sandwiches and the fries are awesome! I would recommend the Italian sub or the club sandwich. Both are excellent. Prices are pretty good too.

  • Sang A.

Okay this just reinforces my insistence to all my friends that koreans know how to run a deli. The food is so fresh because of the ridiculous lunch rush, all the food gets turned over so fast. Every cheesesteak is amazing. The reuben is out of this world. The fries are fresh and come with seasoning. Seriously, if you work anywhere near this place you have to come for lunch at least once. I promise you will go again. And again. And again. OM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM

This is hands down my favourite place to grab lunch during the week. Wow Deli prepares all of their foods fresh every morning. From chicken breast to turkey to all of their vegetables, it's as fresh as it comes. They have a wide selection of sandwiches to order, both hot and cold, along with breakfast items. Items of recommendation: Turkey Avocado, Tuna Salad (+swiss cheese), California Dreaming and their cheesesteaks. Check this place out if you want to grab a fast, delicious, and healthy lunch!

Best deal in town, I love there breakfast. You get 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, home fries and toast for UNDER 5 bucks. AMAZING DEAL.

This place has awesome fresh sandwiches/pitas. I love their turkey avocado on pita bread, it comes with fresh sliced turkey breast, avocado, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and alfalfa sprouts. And the pita is also pretty huge (decently priced, around $7+) Philly cheesesteak was also pretty good. I've never had any complaints about this place, pretty busy during lunch time, employees are really nice, quick service. I went in a couple of weeks ago and ordered the gyro on the pita. Not a good choice, I'm not sure if they were having an off day because when I usually order the gyro its pretty good. Not this time, the edges were hard and I had a difficult time biting down on it. Overcooked I would say. But all in all the pita was still enjoyable. Don't recommend the gyro (unless my experience was a fluke)

I've been frequenting Wow Deli for about three years and I'm still knocked out by the excellent quality of food. The sandwiches are made to order with fresh ingredients. Occasionally, they are heavy handed with the salt, but every thing else is wonderful. The Turkey Avocado is terrific, the California Dream a delight, and they make sandwiches to order -- Oh, lest I forget they serve breakfast! Good value for money as all the ingredients are fresh: they bake their own bread and roast their own turkey; nothing processed. The staff is über friendly and very efficient during a crowded lunch. If you get a chance to try the deli do not be deterred by the long line, you will be in and out quickly. Check it out -- you won't be disappointed.

Delicious!! I have dreams about their Chicken Sophia sandwich. Really. A little pricey for everyday, but well worth it on occasion.

I like this place, even if the workers were disturbingly quiet. It was akin to watching factory workers in a forced labor camp. Anyway, I had a reuben with crisp french fries. Both were very good.

  • Joan K.

I thought it was a pretty okay place, until I found out they bake their own sub rolls, roast their own turkey breast, don't use any processed lunch meats, use water (to steam) instead of oil on their griddles. That's pretty awesome. They have this pita wrap, the California Dream that I love to grab for a quick lunch when I'm at home and feel too lazy to make lunch. It's like a whole wheat pita, veggies, hummus, avocado, havarti. Gets really busy during lunch, but the ajummas got it down. I've never had to wait too long for my food even during the lunch rush.

Looking for a deli around the area and found this. Very happy I did. Is always a good sign when there's a line and all seats are occupied during lunch. Tried their Washington Cheese Steak and I'm not disappointed at all. Pack with tasty rib eye steak and provolone cheese in a soft sub roll. Bread held everything in place without falling apart. Definitely going back and check out their extensive sandwich menu.

WOW Deli is wonderful! Stop in early for one of their tasty breakfast sandwiches and a really good cup of coffee, or for lunch to get a surprisingly good Ruben. The menu is varied with delicious options available for everyone. The owners are friendly and obviously take great care and pride in what they do. The only downside is that they are not open on the weekends.

Great whole in a wall. The food is good and priced reasonably. I ordered a gyro and was really happy with it. It would get a 5 star if it had more meat on it. Over all I'm happy with what I got!!!

  • Rich M.

Fresh food, well-prepared, and in big portions. The Wow has become my go-to lunch place over the past few years. Their roasted turkey is excellent. My fav is their Turkey Avocado, which comes in a pita and never gets old. I also like their subs (philly, turkey provolone), wraps (chicken caesar & wow club wrap), and their california dream, which is a veggie pita. Gyros are also very good. For breakfast, their sausage, egg, & cheese quesadilla rocks. A friendly, family run place. Very inexpensive. The parking lot is not great (I usually walk), and they could use more seating (a price of success, I guess), but I eat here at least 2 times a week so yeah, I'm kind of a fan.

  • Guy S.

Great turkey sandwiches and fries. The place is busy during lunch and the parking really sucks in this shopping center. Also they only take cash but they have an ATM in the deli.
