This is probably the best Popeye's in the Rockville/Gaithersburg area. The Popeye's in Montgomery mall isn't that good. The spicy chicken has no spice in it. But, this Popeye's location never disappoints.

My experience was far worse than the other reviews here - perhaps the best practice is to avoid places like this late at night? Came in here late one evening for dinner - ordered the five piece chicken strips with sides of mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken strips were terrible. Served at room temperature - they tasted like they had been sitting around for a long time - I left more than half of it uneaten. The mashed potatoes with gravy were decent. Biscuit was hot and flaky. Green beans were like mush. There are better options for food around Gaithersburg.

Service was okay..typical fast food service, "what would you like, here's the total". Food was hot, fresh, and fast. Tables weren't clean but grab a few napkins yourself and do a quick sweep and you're good to go. The chicken was juicy, crispy, and very hot. Thinking about it makes me drool again. Environment: Fast food style setting What I ate: Mild Dark Meat Fried Chicken, Fries and Red beans & rice What I think: I always love Popeyes. As my friend and I would call it the "Best Fried Chicken in New Orleans" although that statement might not be true it is from a hilarious inside joke that we had. Anyways decent seasoning and to my knowledge maybe I am lucky that I always come in the right time b/c it is always fried fresh and hot. This is definitely one of the best Popeyes in this neighborhood. One of my "Go To" spots for fried chicken.

Food was hot, service was okay. They were out of unsweet & sweet teas along with dr pepper- advised them and they filled up quickly- will return again. Pricing is on the high end for what you get.

Three stars for the food only! Do yourself a favor and order to go. Eating in is dirty, full of ants, and questionable people. I won't even talk about the bathroom. Service is slower than union workers, and don't expect service with a smile. Ok I'm updating! The inside is brand new and very nice! No ants, not dirty, YAY. Service is much better and there are friendlier employees as well. Go popeyes.

Buttery biscuits, hot fresh chicken, and (powdered) mashed potatoes. I don't know how to review lard in your tummy. I love it, I really do, and maybe because I'm not 16 anymore and I can't just pound down the calories, I am going to say I ate a 2-piece meal and felt like I ate a 20-course meal. The place is clean, the people are nice, and there is ample parking. Enough said.

Not the best or worst Popeye's I've ever been to. I ordered two 3-piece bonafide combos, (about $8 a piece) which came with two sides each and two large sodas. The ordering process was painful. The lady behind the counter seemed to have trouble understanding "two 3-piece bonafide combos". How about "two number two's?" (The 3-piece is number 2 on the menu). Blank stare. Alright. I tell her I want ONE 3-piece combo...and then I want to order ANOTHER 3-piece combo. Finally, I get through to her. But then I realize I have to order the sides! I tell her I want one 3-piece combo with cajun mashed potatoes and corn and I want the other combo with cajun mashed potatoes and fries. Blank stare. I try to speak slower and carefully enunciate every word. No success. After about 5 minutes of this, I finally get my order in. I was promptly handed my food and walked out of there shaking my head. Sometimes I am thankful for fast food restaurants. They keep people like my cashier employed and off the streets! This is a minor quibble however. Everybody knows fast food chains don't hire Rhodes Scholars. The food was about as good as it gets. The cajun fries were a bit dried out. The chicken (I ordered spicy) was well seasoned and juicy. The cajun mashed potatoes are to die for. Slather the mashed potatoes and the gravy over the biscuits and get your nom on. The corn tasted fresh. Popeye's is one of the better fried chicken joints out there. Just be prepared to deal with the "specially abled" and linguistically challenged cashiers.

This is the worst restaurant I have visited in several years. First, when I asked for the Wicked Chicken posted on the window and is also advertised on TV, they said that they do not have it. My wife and my two sons ordered four combos from the menu. They did not give us any sauces that should come with the food. They did not give us spoon or fork that needed for the smashed potato or Cole slaw. I ended up go back to the counter to ask for these for at least five times for the meal. The food was also terrible. I will not go back to this restaurant again, ever.
