Heaven help you if you step into the FECES smelling vile filthy bathrooms. The staff have no concept of cleanliness. It's simply overpriced, vile, and filthy.

I have only been here for breakfast a couple of times, so please keep that in mind. Their breakfast menu is okay. They mostly offered scrambled egg dishes and paninis. I have been failed to be wow-ed by anything they have served, despite it being crowded in the mornings. It's decent though, so if I am nearby I will most likely be back.

What happened to this place? When it first opened, it was a decent place to eat. Sandwiches were classic and good. Coffee was great when it was right next to the door. Now they've remodeled and changed there menu. I feel they've lost their identity with Asian subs and Mexican tortas. The coffee tastes watered down. Only thing that tasted okay was the DC Chicken Salad from long time ago. And that didn't even taste right! Big thumbs down.

Stopped in here for a breakfast sandwich on a Saturday that I was working. This place was nice and festive. The food was decent. I will go back. But it really was nothing special!

My friend and I came because of corner bakery's flats promotion. We each received a free flat (each under 330 calories) with a side of either chips or carrots). The waitress brought the food to us, which was nice. Additionally, the food came quickly- about 5 minutes. The portions are small, but each flat had a good amount of meat to make a filling lunch. Free wifi is also an added bonus. My southwest chicken flat was good- flavorful chicken and some type of slaw with ranch dressing. My friend's pulled pork flat was also good- a lot of bbq pork. The carrots, however were disappointing. They gave us each about 7 measly baby carrots and some were starting to get black. We also got a blueberry lemonade baby bundt to share and it was delicious and light! The blueberries were fresh and the glaze was lemony. During the summer, their employees are high schoolers or college students. Many of my friends work here, and are very friendly and attentive.

Carryout only. Food is good but facility is dirty. Did I mention how dirty this place is??. I don't know how they can run a restaurant and not clean. They've removed the trash cans so patrons are forced to leave dirty tables behind. Ok. So clean it up. It's not appetizing to eat around mounds of trash.

A nice little spot located in the Rio right across from Dicks and Joe's Crab Shack. Good breakfast options to include pancakes, scramblers, oatmeal and other items. Friendly staff and ample seating makes this a viable breakfast option. Coffee is hot and fresh with free refills. So far have not had a negative experience from the times I have visited and will make this restaurant part of my daily rotation. If you have the chance to stop in, do so and enjoy.

i came here for a quick breakfast with my dad a few minutes after 8am on a weekday morning. i was a bit surprised that this cafe didn't open until 8am on a weekday, which is a bit on the late side considering many people begin their morning commute as early as 6 or 7am. when we arrived, there was only one cashier at the checkout counter and she asked us to wait a few minutes since she wasn't ready. not good considering it was a few minutes after opening. but fortunately for her, we were the only customers in line at that time. i ordered 2 items: 1. steel-cut oatmeal - this was a bowl of whole grain, steel-cut oatmeal topped with a choice of currants, cranberries, brown sugar, toasted walnuts and almonds. i asked for all toppings, minus the brown sugar. this was a hot, thick and hearty bowl of oatmeal, just the way i like it. 2. farmer's scrambler omelet - consisted of bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and cheese, with a choice of toast, and fresh fruit medley or breakfast potatoes on the side. i customized this order, requesting egg whites or egg substitute and no cheese. i also chose whole wheat toast, dry (without the butter). i don't recall being asked for my preference of a side, and was given the breakfast potatoes. given the choice, i'd have picked the fresh fruit medley. the omelet and toast were good, but i didn't touch the potatoes; dad had them and ate every bite, so i assume they were good. the food was pretty good, but would have appreciated better customer service. i am still scratching my head why this place doesn't open until 8am....guess i'll have to return and ask the manager to find out.

I don't know why this location can't get it's act together. Today I went in to order a bowl of Chilled Swiss Oatmeal (which I love) and they had one person on the register and 7-8 people in line. They finally added another cashier who took one customer order and then answered the phone to take phone orders leaving everyone else who had been standing in line to wait longer. That's ridiculous. The people standing in line should have priority. Fortunately, once I placed my order it did not take too long to get it, but when I got home I realized that they had given me hot oatmeal instead of the chilled oatmeal. Clearly, I should have checked my order, but there needs to be some quality control here. Very disappointing.

We love coming this Corner Bakery, especially during the warmer seasons so we can sit outside and "people-watch", and take in the other scenery at the Rio. I've tried several items on the menu and they've all been pretty good... And fresh. Staff is usually friendly too. Yesterday I tried the four-cheese mac n cheese w/diced tomato and substituted the bacon for chicken for $2 extra. Mac and cheese was more saucy than creamy which okay, but I do prefer a more creamier texture. Even with that said, it was a pretty decent meal for the price. Chicken was seasoned well, pasta was cooked well and the serving of diced tomatoes was just right. It's served with a slice of bread -panini pressed and brushed with olive oil and herbs. It was filling and I'd definitely get it again.

First time coming out here! I got the all American breakfast. Brought eggs, bacon, bread toast and potatoes. Everything was very good. Came out pretty fast considering all the paper that were ahead of me in line! Next time I'll bring my parents cause the food was great and it's really nice inside! Also they have multiple choices of coffee! I'm a coffee lover so that's a plus!

  • L K.

everything is overpriced. the panini are good though. I got the half club panini without bacon and loved it. the combo gave me a choice of several things. I got the Mac and cheese which seemed like Mac and butter to me with mayonnaise at the bottom. very gross. lacked cheese. no taste at all but I was hungry. I spent $9 without any drink for a half sandwich and small cup of buttered pasta. fail.

Would get 0 stars if that was an option. In comparison with their competitor Panera the customer service and morning options are terrible. I wanted to get a salad and they would not make it even though they had the ingredients. Terrible customer service even from management

Sandwich was missing mustard and mayo was just turkey lettuce and tomatoes and they forgot chips on side. Won't eat here again. The menu stated what it came with mustard mayo and server asked if I would like chips and said YES sigh. The loaded potato soup was so old could not eat it. They did get my lemon bar right! Did not call them because this location was a one time visit to the area so won't be back

I've never been here when they didn't make a mistake on our order. Then 25% of the time when I ask for them to fix it, they end up making another mistake. (When you fail to toast a bagel, you don't put it in a microwave to fix it). The food is okay, when prepared correctly. However, when you top the crowdedness, the loudness, the relative slowness, the mistakes, and the only decent quality of the food, it is certainly is not worth the high prices.

  • Liubov V.

The food is very oily and heavy. I took The Panini Pomidoro and asked not to ad pesto mayo, but anyway it had too much fat( so our breakfast wasn't tasty at all.

A local favourite. Located on a street corner right next to Rio's central square, which makes outdoor seating all the more interesting. Lovely ambiance, spacious seating, not to mention a diverse menu. If you're looking for a group and family friendly café, this is it.

I like the food at Corner Bakery. The Chicken Pomodori is amazing and the salads and pastas are great as well. They actually remodeled this location and it's definitely improved in terms of utilizing space for the ordering line. However this location is sooooo slow! It took us 30 minutes to get our food during lunch time! Most people only have an hour for lunch and we basically wasted 30 minutes waiting for the food and had to just shove the food down our throats. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes because I'm not at a sit down restaurant. I came here yesterday again during lunch... Stood in the slow line and remembered that it takes forever for the food so I ended up leaving and picking up food elsewhere.

Normally, corner bakery is good. Fairly priced, and average food. I adore the garlic bread and mac and cheese. I've never really had issues with the cafe until a couple days ago. I ordered a entree sized M&C which normally is a ginormous portion (in my teensy world) that's always served with garlic bread. I take it to go, sit down and open up the bag. No garlic bread. A tiny tiny amount of mac and cheese. Look, if I'm spending money that I worked hard for, I'd like to get my money's worth. Pretty simple. So I'm a little peeved off. Regardless though, still a good place to grab a bite of food. Service is a bit slow so if you're in a rush, maybe this isn't your place

I ordered takeout for 10 people and when I arrived to pick it up, no one seemed to have a record of my order. I was able to pull it up on my phone and show it to the cashier who then went and found a manager. She was very reassuring, promising right away that whatever the issue was, she'd get my order ready in just a few minutes and get it taken care of. While waiting I was offered a complimentary beverage (which I declined). In less than 10 minutes they had my order ready to go. According to the manager there had been a recent change to their computer system, maybe as recent as over the weekend, and due to that the order was not showing up as it should. Whatever the issue was, they made sure it wasn't an issue for me and it was immediately resolved. I can't tell you how refreshing that is. As for the food, it's always consistent and very good. My favorite is the tomato mozzarella sandwich with roasted peppers and basil. Love that. Others in my office on this particular day had salads which looked very nice. It's a bit pricey, the takeout portions are about $9.00 per person, but the food is much better than competitors like Panera. Although I rarely eat in the shop, it's a very nice place. There are a number of employees roaming the restaurant making sure everyone has what they need and greeting guests. Everyone seems really friendly. They have a nice outdoor seating area along the sidewalk. If anything, they suffer from their own success in that it can get really busy.

Love this place! Very panera-like with nice soups, salads, and sandwiches. Can get super crowded, though.

Came here for a quick lunch date the other day. Had the Spinach sweet crisp salad and I must say I really really enjoyed it. The restaurant and service is really sub par for me, it actually is enough to make you want to go elsewhere at first. There aren't enough booths and they are precious territory, you're lucky if you can get one because no wants a table or any of the half booths they have. So if you see someone making moves to give of their valuable booth real estate, pounce quickly. I was able to walk up just in time as a woman walked up right next to me. I had already set my drink and utensils down, so this one was mine...sowwy! The employees just look at you while you decide, it's a bit weird and makes you feel awkward. I was even dropped back and looking at the menu and the young woman behind the cash register had her hand on the top of the register screen and was just dead pan staring. The desserts by the register looked amazing, but I passed on them because I was going to be doing some sampling at the Lindt chocolate store that is a door up. Had it not been for that, i would have totally picked up one of their extremely large brownies. You order your food and then you go sit down, they give you a number to put on your table so they can bring your order out to you. If you are taking your food to go, there are about five chairs by the register for you to wait. The waiting chairs are right by the bagged cookies, wrapped up bunt cakes, and other assorted goods...ahhh so tempting. The salad, like i said, was really fantastic with only a couple things left to be desired. The strawberries, the grapes, the oranges, the craisins, and all components were really fresh and worked together very well. I asked for the dressing on the side (not sure if they apply it or not, but I like to control the amount of dressing that goes on my salad so I just asked to be better safe than sorry). It was actually a good idea because with the pomegranate dressing they use, it can get quite sickening if overdone, I would have preferred a dressing with a bit more of a savory kick to cut some of the sweetness. The sweet crisp they serve with the salad, I really like it. It was like a very crispy yet moist and substantial piece of bread. I hate the crisps that just fall apart and become a dusty, too crumbly, roof of your mouth ripping addition. This one, on the other hand was really nice and I think that can be attributed to the fact that there are raisins in it. My friend had the Reuben and it was also really good and grilled to perfection. It is very much like a Reuben grilled cheese if you will because they put it in a panini maker. It was quite nice, no Katz deli, but for Corner bakery, I could complain. My friend thoroughly enjoyed it. I think this is a great lunch spot. Lunch gets there quickly and the restaurant is centrally located with a ton of parking nearby. Would give it another try for sure.

Okay the food is good but the service leaves alot to be desired. I didn't mind repeating my orders, over and over again ... really I dont mind but how do you still get it wrong? The cashier is nice enough but she had issues paying attention to my order and getting distracted by what should I eat by the food runner. They do need to get their act together and properly train their employees for better customer service.

Yeah I just wanted some chicken and pasta tonight so I ordered the large one with bread crumbs and pesto cream sauce. I NEVER go to chain restaurants and order the pasta so I feared the worst, but it was A-OK. 9 bucks got me a large to-go container of reasonably cooked pasta with a lot of butter and cream and some pesto and chicken. I also got an uninspired rectangle of bread with butter. I honestly think the other Italian chains around here - Mama Lucia's and Macaroni Grill are just a horrible idea. They're both way overpriced for basically the same quality food as Corner Cafe. Pasta, butter, cream, garlic, and tomatoes are all dirt cheap... yet both places charge about $13 bucks for a basic pasta with tomato sauce. For those kind of prices it better be damn perfect with organic and handmade components, yet it obviously isn't. So you might as well go to Corner Cafe and save yourself a bunch of money. After all, if you want to spend money on a great meal there are plenty of other places to go.

Waited 20 minutes for a frozen lemonade. They were out of bottled water. Staff could care less. I'll admit the sandwiches looked good, but the few people there had no food in front of them and looked irritated.

my new cheese corner, Mac & Three Cheese (5/5 NOMs). New addition to their Hearty Pasta section. At first I was surprised that this portion is considered large, but trust me it will fill you up and then some. This is not just hearty, its heartynormouse with some very nomnom cheeses.

Yummy! I am addicted to their Chicken Chili Sandwich. BP likes their Turkey on Pretzel bread, but we both feel that their bread can be a bit tough on our mouths. After we eat here, the roofs of our mouths are slightly scrapped and it's more of a nuisance then painful. Their desserts are really good, though. Small, but good.

Eat here for breakfast! I had a panini, pecan pie pastry, and coffee and all we're delicious. The price was cheaper than expected and even the music is great. Order online for faster service. I'll be back tomorrow!

Been here quite a few times and never have been completely satisfied. We order coffee a lot, and the last 3 times, both cups have had large amounts of grounds at the bottom. At some point, I end up getting a disgusting amount of grounds in my mouth. We ordered food two times ago, and were very specific that we were sharing and simply wanted them to cut the large panini in half My wife had to mention it to the young lady 3 times that she wanted it cut. When it came out, it was a half a panini so we had to send it back. Of course, twenty minutes later it came back out, after our friends were done eating, and there were no chips on the plate. We had to send them back to get the chips which took another five minutes. By the time we actually got the chips I was done eating. The food was great, but the poor service and the horrible coffee makes it hard to want to come back. The fact that there is outdoor seating and we can relax on a nice evening is the only positive I can think of.

My all time favorite restaurant! I go to it every year for my birthday. Love their sandwiches, but love the staff even more. They are so very warm and friendly and that makes my visit just a perfect 10.. Or I guess you could say a perfect 5! It's never too busy even on the weekend, of course it has it's spikes in customers now and then, but it's a great environment every time and great location. Don't think I can say anything bad about it, go check it out!

I was disappointed with my Chopped Salad. It was really nothing special and the dressing had a distinct Wishboney taste. Made me wish I had remembered that CPK has salads.

Hey, for the price, it sure beats fast food. Crystal shared a nice French toast birthday breakfast that came with a fruit salad, bacon, and eggs, but we substituted a fruit salad for the eggs because I shared a nice savory scrambled egg thing with quite acceptable if not exemplary hash-brown potatoes. I guess it's a good place to bring the kids, 'cause there was a mother with two cute, well-behaved little ones at the next table. On the other hand, there was another mother getting take-out with her three noisy little monsters running around the place and getting in the way of the revolving door. You know who you are, even if we don't. In a couple of hours, I'm going to make a late lunch of Serrano ham, cheeses, and home-marinated mushrooms, with the demi-baguette that we bought at Corner Bakery. Yes, they do sell bread there. Did I mention that I'm taking Crystal and her sister to Mannequin Pis later for Crystal's birthday dinner? I will!

The service here is absolutely the worse. The employees seem real nice but there is this manager that yells at them constantly. I'm sure if they had better management they would have better service and happier employees. I have been to many Corner Bakery's across the country and this one is definitely one that needs a management overhaul.

A Corner Bakery like most other Corner Bakeries - so if you like the food, there are no surprises. However there are a few things to be aware of this *specific* Corner Bakery: 1) If you come on the weekend, a holiday, or during lunch - be prepared for an ONSLAUGHT of kids in strollers (there is a playground around the corner from here). Which normally wouldn't be bad except that it's so crowded that you will leave with your shins blackened and blued. 2) Because of issue #1, be prepared to stand in line. For a loooong time. Partly because of the crowd, but mostly because of parents who get up to the cashier and have a 10 minute discussion with their 3 year old if they would like the PB&J or the chicken salad. THEY ARE THREE. They eat their own boogers. Just order for your kid - s/he does not know what the heck chicken salad is. And even if they do, they really don't care, because THEY EAT THEIR OWN BOOGERS. 3) Also because of issue #1, the floor is usually covered in crumbs, spilled drinks/sauces, and other messes. 4) However, I must also say (as a follow up to #3), the staff is usually pretty good and fast about making sure that the tables are wiped down and are moderately clean. So just in comparison to other Corner Bakeries and cafes of this ilk, it's neither the best, nor the worst (yeah, my brain just fizzled out halfway through this review).

My favorite item on the menu is the chicken pomodori panini - chicken, pesto mayo, spinach, tomatoes. It's so good!

I no longer live in the area but visit about two or three times a year, always grabbing my Chicken Pomodori, but never again. It has been declining little by little but the two sandwiches they served us last Tuesday were absolute garbage. It was only 1:30 in the aft, but these were both obvious reheats and were just burnt and disgusting. A huge waste of $15 and getting off the exit at all. The restaurant was steady, the service was slow as usual. Done.

I wanted to take it easy from the spicy food I had been consuming, for some reason I thought about corner bakery. One look at the menu I knew I was going to try the DC chicken salad. At the restaurant I decided to order half a soup and half a salad but I was mixed up about the salad I could get for the half order. I ended up getting half a sandwich with the chicken salad inside. At first I was disappointed but after tasting the freshly baked wholesome nutty bread I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken tortilla soup was delicious as well it almost tasted like chili because of the cumin. I was pleased with the lunch it was more pricey at $10 but the ingredient was much higher in quality than say, Panera Bread.

Today at around 3 PM I ordered the Pasta Caprese salad. While I am normally in a rush to get out and eat my meal, I stopped to sit down today. The lunch rush is insane, so I was pleased to have a seat. However, it took a long time for my salad to get to me. This time was different, though, as far as staffing goes. While my cashier was slow, she was very friendly, and the whole time stayed pleasant and polite. When handing me my dish, she gave a sincere smile and hoped it was to my liking. Very unexpected. I assume she gave me a little empathy, as I had expressed my excitement over my 30 minute break from a store down the street. The food wasn't stellar, but it wasn't bad, and I really enjoyed the woman who served me today. The other cashier was a different story, but overall a good experience.

Well I'm not convinced... So my friend and I stop by the Corner Bakery for a bite to eat. I notice that they have Mac & Cheese on the menu, unfortunately under the kids menu. But who cares?! I've never tried their pasta dishes before, but I've always enjoyed their sandwich items. Anyways, back to the mac... I get kind of confused watching them make it. They threw some noodles in a bowl, added some shredded cheese, more noddles, then topped the dish off with more shredded cheese. I thought they'd put it in the oven to bake or something. But no, they just hand it over to me... huh? Yeah the cheese melted a teeny, tiny, bit. But there was nothing creamy or thick and cheesy about this Mac & Cheese... Just some noodles & shredded cheese thrown in a bowl.

The 1 star is for the poor customer service that I had in that place. I can not tell you how is the food because I couldn't eat there. I went with my daughter to a festival for special needs kids at Rio Mall , my daughter is in a strict diet and basically we prepare her food. I decided to try this place, but I asked a waitress if they can heat my daughter's food, explaining the diet situation. She went to talk to her manager and when I was making the line she came back stating that the manager said that they can not heat up my daughter's food, even being a special situation. I just left the line really offended. For me that is discrimination. I will not going to comeback to that place anymore. Next door in Uncle Julius they did not have any problem and they heat my daughter's food.

This is a great place for lunch. I live and work very close to the Rio so come here very now and then. When the weather is nice, eating outside is fun. There's definitely a good crowd during lunch time but people are usually here for a quick bite so you can usually find a seat pretty quickly. Some of my favorite items on the menu are: Chicken Tortilla Soup w/Tortilla Strips Chicken Pesto on Ciabatta Ficelle D.C. Chicken Salad on Steakhouse Rye Chicken Pomodori on Sourdough Pesto Cavatappi Whoa, I just noticed everything I order is chicken! Anyway, food is fresh and quick. You order, they bring it to you and you don't even have to clean up after yourself when you're done. Woot! =)

This place is always dirty, my shoes got stuck on the floor and dust on counter you have to think how dirty the kitchen is. my soup had a thick skin on it like it had been sitting all day, food is ok but super slow. Tried the one in Rockville and is like night and day, super clean and big fresh portions, fast and friendly staff.

Although it's a great standby for a quick lunch, I absolutely HATE dealing with the lunch rush. I totally agree with Sara N. the California Grille is my favorite!!! I also like the trio salad and breakfast scrambles here. The service here definitely sucks. No one is really very helpful or nice.

I am updsting my last review.this place went from bad to shit.I went in tonite and got the new roast beef sandwich combo with mac n cheese and maple pecan bar for desert.want to start of by saying the place was filthy.food on the tablesztrash on the floor and food as well.I get jp to do a refill on mky sprite for my drink and looj back and see the short spanish lady taking kmy food away.knowing she saw me walk to the soda fountain while she was eating a bag of potatoe chips.I went off.wasn't done eating and bitch took my food away.plus the idiotic cou ter people didn't offer me the option of bacon and tomatoe on the mac n cheese.how woujld I know what it tastes like if its not offered.and the maple bar was drh as hell.no taste what so ever.so until the service gets better I well never go there again.I gave your place the finger on the way out.that's how upset I am with this place.you can aplogize all you want to but this has been an ongoing issue.let alone what other friends have been through.so management also needs to take the blame.you suck shit.never going there again

This place can really be chaotic. And your impression will vary depending on when you go and how busy they end up being. They have some good pasta dishes and it's not too expensive. If the weather is nice you can take a walk around the lake after to burn off a few calories.

Bottom line: Great for breakfast; For lunch, it's crowded and the Order to Munching time is slower but food is still just as good. --------------------- I came here for brunch yesterday to see my friends off before they went back to Chicago (*tear*). I originally wanted to take them to Crepes A Go Go thinking that they'd be open for breakfast since crepes could be a breakfast food but they weren't. Service here was pretty fast. From ordering to food took about 10 minutes before all 5 of us got our food. The most memorable food for me was the Berry Almond Swiss Oatmeal. When I first got it, I half expected it to be warm but it wasn't. It was like a yogart parfait with fresh blue berries and freshly cut strawberries top. The oatmeal itself is mixed in with diced apples, yogurt, and almonds. SOOO good! My friend took a bite...and couldn't resist a second, or a third...or a fourth =) Next time I'm up by Rio for breakfast, I'll definitely come back.

This was my first time at a Corner Bakery Cafe. It's a spacious restaurant and it's a lot "prettier" than Panera Bread or pick your bigger chain soup and sandwich place, but the food is just about the same. You'll get your choice of breads, sandwiches, coffees, a couple baked goods, etc. They might have a couple "unique" choices in your sandwiches like avocado (which I like), but I didn't see much.

Wow - what a disappointment. The counter staff was incompetent. Eggs served cold. Rest of order completely wrong. What happened, corner bakery?

Corner Bakery Cafe is another nice sandwich shoppe that caters more to the vegetarian eater than you'd expect. I recommend the California Grille. Totally melts in your mouth. Artichoke, spinach, plum tomatoes, pesto... yummy. I was not as crazy about the tomato mozarella. I also tried the Poblano Fresco recently. While not as good as the California Grille, it's a pretty yummy sandwich. I liked the red peppers and avocados. I'm not sure why places keep pushing that completely bland creation: tomato and a dry block of mozarella. Hmm. I also had dessert here once and it was tasty. Nice selection of little pastries. Corner Bakery also has this really cool new side salad deal where you get 3 salads at a discount. They actually have a far number of VEGAN salads that look really good. I definitely want to try that the next time I'm at Corner Bakery. It does tend to be crowded a lot, but that's because it's so good. The prices are not really much higher than your average sandwich place either. Best time to go: weeknights or after the dinner rush, especially on a nice day where you can sit outside.

Is it me or are the ladies that work the cash register during the lunch rush kinda mean. You may get a half-hearted what would you like from them occasionally, but most of the time they just stare at you until you start your order. It's kind of unnerving. Also, 9 bucks for a sandwich, chips, and a drink?I feel like all these upscale fast food places (Panera, Chicken Out, etc.) are ripping us off. Maybe that's just the grumpy old man in me coming out ... "In my day we paid a nickel for a sandwich and the chips were free. Flibbidy foob!"

i come here for lunch a lot. most of their sandwiches are really good and their vegetables are fresh. they are not as quick as they could be. when i call my order ahead, i am usually put on hold for a while, and when i go into the store, it usually takes the cashiers a while.

I used to come here for breakfast first thing in the morning, as I worked pretty close by. The Baked French Toast and Commuter Croissant were the best!! Can't say much about lunch or the crowds really, but for a fast, tasty breakfast it was A++++ in my book.

Overall this is a great place to eat, always clean with nice staff. If you order a salad to go, make sure it's tossed. My only grip is that several of the cashiers while always friendly don't clearly understand or speak English so always best to make sure they repeat your order back to you.

I'm a coffee lover so that's a plus!

everything is overpriced. the panini are good though.

I met up with a friend here for lunch around 12ish on a Friday. When I got there, there wasn't really a huge line or anything. I was able to place my order quickly and get a table. (Maybe 20 minutes later, the line started to build up to a point where it was hard to exit the restaurant because the line was getting long). In any case, though I thought that I made it in time before it got too busy, I felt our food didn't come for at least 20-30 minutes which is a little ridiculous considering the things we ordered is something that could've probably been done in about 10 minute tops (chicken noodle soup in a bread bowl, and a panini thin). I would've understood if the line was out the door when I got there, but there was no one infront of me in line when I got there and there were maybe 4 tables that were occupied, 3 of whom already had their food. So yeah... people who have posted that the service wasn't that great, I would probably agree. In any case, the chicken noodle soup in the bread bowl looked pretty good as my friend seemed to enjoy it. I got the panini thin with chicken sausage and egg and cheese. Panini thins are basically thin bread toasts without the crust. The taste was nothing spectacular but it wasn't bad. The chicken sausage was think but had enough flavor in it to make the meal ok. Anyways, if you do not mind waiting for ok food, come here. It's not a bad place to just sit and chat. I recommend maybe getting coffee or hot tea to hold you over while you wait for your food. Otherwise, just be patient =)

I stopped in here the other day for lunch with my family while we were at the Rio. It was a great lunch and a fantastic place for us and the kids. 1) They have crayons and kids menus for coloring. This is great when you have 2 toddlers. It kept them happy and occupied until we go our food. 2) They have a kids menu with sandwiches that come with a side of carrots. It is nice to have healthy options for the kids. We got a PB&J sandwich for the kids and they really liked it. 3) The adult food was also very good. I got a salad and my husband got a sandwich. We both enjoyed it a lot. 4) The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The only thing I would change is to have more dairy-free or vegan options. Even though my family is not even vegetarian, my son is allergic to dairy so I am often looking for dairy free or vegan items since I know those also won't have dairy. Unfortunately, most of the menu items and pastries had dairy in them. The staff was very helpful and looked up the nutritional information for me and were totally nice and pleasant about it. However, my kids really wanted a muffin, but hey all contained dairy so I had to say no. If there were more diary free or vegan items, I would have bought more and would probably come here more often. In the meantime, I will have to keep making muffins at home.

My husband and I went to Corner Bakery last night for a quick bite before shopping at Dick's. I ordered the spinach salad with dressing on the side. The salad was served already dressed, the sliced fruit looked like it had been sitting in the dressing all day. A roll came with the salad that was hard and dried out. My husbands panini was OK. We shared a lemon whoopie pie that was also just OK. This location is not much better than the one in Germantown so, 3 strikes, you're out.

This is my favorite Corner Bakery in the area. I've been here four times now, and every time I've loved it. I usually order the Applewood Smoked Bacon Power Panini with egg whites. It's always served warm, crispy and just right. Also a big fan of their steel cut oatmeal. So yummy. I've also tried their spinach avocado scramble panini... i wasn't such a fan of this. It was bland and too buttery. What I really like about this place is how friendly the staff is. From the cashiers to the folks cleaning off the tables. Very friendly. The food takes a little while, but that's ok, good food takes time.

3.5 After I had gone to the Corner Bakery in Germantown, MD I had told myself I would never return to a Corner Bakery again. But I changed my mind. Maybe this location holds some type of sentiment to me-- growing up in the area, and coming here with someone that has become dearly special to me recently.. I like what the corner cafe has to offer, and I've enjoyed their food, but on two separate occasions I've had problems there. First time I ordered a toasted bagel. I got it and it wasn't toasted. No problem, I sent it back and asked for it toasted. It came back and it was soft- it had been microwaved. Gross. Second time, I ordered the roast beef and goat cheese sandwich. They later informed me that they were out of the normal thyme bread, Which was fine. Then I get the sandwich and there's no goat cheese on it. Send it back asking for goat cheese. When I tried it the second time, they gave me cheese, but it wasn't goat cheese. I think it may have been cottage cheese? It had no flavor. Goat cheese has a very distinct flavor, and I've had the sandwich from them many times, and it was not the same this time. If I am spending $10 on a sandwich I would really like to get what it says I'm supposed to get, and if they don't have things, they should tell me in advance. I feel like they like to take shortcuts and don't LISTEN to the customer. Seems typical behavior for lunch rush, saw many other people who got wrong orders, etc.

For $4.50 you child gets a fantastic healthy kids meal: my daughter got pasta carbonara, a cup of fruit, and chocolate milk. Huge portions too. For another $7 I got a panini and lemonade. That part was greasy and salty. But basically for $13 we had outdoor seating, a great spot for enjoying the RIO Summer Series concert on Saturday evening and no waitress constantly checking on us..thus we felt comfortable chilling for an hour and a half. Next time I'll try something different...but my daughter loved her meal and I loved our seats! 3.5 stars!

You expect the same quality and taste when you attend chains, correct? Well you may not get this here. I went during the lunch hour. As one would expect the tables were busy but I found a spot. The wifi was extremely unreliable though. My food was delivered fast. Usually it takes longer when I go to my preferred located in Bethesda by the mall. I ordered the Californian grill. It just didn't taste as fresh. The ingredients tasted dry and despite the fast delivery time, the food wasn't hot. I also ordered a pumpkin dessert with the cream between the soft wafers. The wafers were stale. The service was good. They take your order fast and have a quick turn around. They even served fresh chocolate chip cookie pieces for seated patrons. They bus tables fast too and are friendly. The food however, despite the time being lunch, was far from fresh and even old tasting. Food: 2 Stars Service: 4 Stars

A local favourite. Located on a street corner right next to Rio's central square, which makes outdoor seating all the more interesting. Lovely ambiance, spacious seating, not to mention a diverse menu. If you're looking for a group and family friendly café, this is it.

i came here for a quick breakfast with my dad a few minutes after 8am on a weekday morning. i was a bit surprised that this cafe didn't open until 8am on a weekday, which is a bit on the late side considering many people begin their morning commute as early as 6 or 7am. when we arrived, there was only one cashier at the checkout counter and she asked us to wait a few minutes since she wasn't ready. not good considering it was a few minutes after opening. but fortunately for her, we were the only customers in line at that time. i ordered 2 items: 1. steel-cut oatmeal - this was a bowl of whole grain, steel-cut oatmeal topped with a choice of currants, cranberries, brown sugar, toasted walnuts and almonds. i asked for all toppings, minus the brown sugar. this was a hot, thick and hearty bowl of oatmeal, just the way i like it. 2. farmer's scrambler omelet - consisted of bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and cheese, with a choice of toast, and fresh fruit medley or breakfast potatoes on the side. i customized this order, requesting egg whites or egg substitute and no cheese. i also chose whole wheat toast, dry (without the butter). i don't recall being asked for my preference of a side, and was given the breakfast potatoes. given the choice, i'd have picked the fresh fruit medley. the omelet and toast were good, but i didn't touch the potatoes; dad had them and ate every bite, so i assume they were good. the food was pretty good, but would have appreciated better customer service. i am still scratching my head why this place doesn't open until 8am....guess i'll have to return and ask the manager to find out.
