I have been going to classic bakery for several years now. I have always received excellent customer service! Always smiling and willing to go the extra mile to help their customers. I like their mango mousse cake. The fruit cake is the best! I also love their baklava!! They also have coffee and subs..but I haven't tried either yet.

I like this bakery because of the ability to make novelty cakes. I live an hour away and I keep coming back to them because they really make your cake dreams happen. I don't eat cake because I'm not a pastry type person. However, everyone raves about how the cake is delicious at the family parties I host. The cakes I have ordered have always been ready on time and they get back to you quickly when you email them. The only reason why I didn't give them a 5/5 stars is because of the staff. I have meet with a couple people that have been ok. But I have encountered some of the younger staff to be rude, condescending, and unprofessional. I have paid up to 250 dollars on a birthday cake and I would expect this type of bakery to have better customer service. All in all, I recommend this bakery. Just hope that you are services by a more experienced staff member.

This is one of the best bakeries in the area, the fruit cake is very good. Their service is very quick and friendly. Also there is a groupon for fruit cake.

Groupon users - remember to call 48 hours in advance to order your fruit cake. I'd seen the Groupon floating around for a while and finally decided to give it a shot after hearing a friend recommend this place. I was not disappointed. The fruit cake was delicious - exactly as pictured, not too heavy and not too sweet, but plenty of cream and fruit on top. When I picked it up in person, the workers even offered to write a message on top, which was perfect because I was bringing it for a special occasion. I don't know if I'd get it again because the location was a little out of the way for me, but there were a lot of other delicious treats inside that I'd definitely try if I have the chance.

They did a great job!! I ordered my friend's strawberry shortcake for her birthday and asked if they could make it elegant and fun. Not only was the presentation great, but it was delicious too! They were also very fast to respond. I sent them an email asking for an estimate on the cost, and I received a phone call about 30 minutes later with a great price. I placed the order and made the payment over the phone. It was so convenient and the results were great - I will definitely go back!

I came to Classic Bakery this past weekend to see if I could get a custom cake that same day. I know, shame on me for procrastinating on ordering it, but Classic pulled through! Mind you, it was also Superbowl Sunday and they seemed to be pretty busy. My little brother was turning 18 and he's obsessed with cars, so I wanted to get him a cake that looked like a vanity license plate that he recently ordered for his car. I came in with the plates for reference and told one of the employees there exactly what I wanted. He politely told me that it was going to be a struggle trying to get the exact colors I wanted since they didn't have much time, but that they would do their best. I ended up ordering a 1/4 sheet yellow cake with tiramisu filling that would serve about 25 people. The total was $82, which seemed pretty reasonable for a custom cake like this. I came back like 4 hours later to pick up the cake and I was extremely impressed! They did so much better than I could have imagined with what little time they were given. Needless to say, my brother was very surprised and loved his cake. And it tasted amazing as well! Next time I need a custom cake or just want to pick up some desserts I will be sure to go to Classic Bakery!

Service was quick and friendly! Instead of one cake, I decided to get various cake slices of different varieties. Coconut, carrot, mango, chocolate, strawberry, and creme were all good. It was excellent for those with diabetes because the cake was not overly sweet, so they treated themselves. I also purchased balloons and candles. I'll definitely return.

*****3.5 stars***** Shouldn't everyone who works in a bakery and are surrounded by sweet treats be happy and smile? Apparently not at Classic Bakery & Cafe! The four workers who were there didn't seem happy at all to be there and just seemed to go through the motions of grabbing items for customers. Lighten up people! Many of their baked goods are offered by the pound, which could get deadly. Most items are small, so you don't feel guilty filling a box up with goodies. I tried their chocolate eclair, tiramisu, and an orange cake. Out of the three, I surprisingly liked the orange cake the best. I love eclairs, so I thought I'd like that one more. Both the tiramisu and orange cake were light and had good flavor to them. You could taste hints of orange and coffee. The eclair was okay. The dough was a little dry, but the custard filling was able to hide it somewhat.

Got the deal off from groupon. The staff was nice and friendly. Offers lunch menu as well as bakeries. The 7 inch fruit cake I got was decent. Not the best cake but decent fruit cake with strawberry cream filling. Would I buy again? Probably not, you can similar or better cake from whole foods.

  • Nomin D.

So we bought a groupon deal to purchase the 7 inch fruit cake that "made them famous" or whatnot. We are big fruit cake people and this was whatever! It was mushy and didn't quite have a good texture taste to it. It was very bland and bleh. Would I come back to? No not really. I'll stick with Whole Foods.

I used to live really close to this place and it was wonderful. Their little cakes are delicious! I haven't tried the gelato or coffee but the cakes are on point

Service: C Food: Dry, bland Environment: empty We were greeted by two employees when we arrived.. then ignored when I approached the counter. Once I wanted to place an order, I was cut off and rudely told to pick a box. The first time I went, I never had to choose a box so I was really confused... I told him I didn't want to choose a box just two pieces.. I turned around to leave and then he told me I could do a plate. I don't know if he was trying to get me to buy more than I wanted or what was going on.. I probably won't purposely go to this bakery unless I'm eating Pho. The bakery items aren't super fantastic where it's worth my 7 minute drive.

Love this bakery - the designs are awesome and the bakers are very creative - once in a while you'll run into absurd customer service, other than that great place!! Their chocolate raspberry flavour is delicious..

I was looking for a baker for my wedding cake and came here based on a friend's recommendation (they made her wedding cake). My fiance and I came in for a morning appointment on a Friday. We were seated and left alone at a table with a tray of cake slices we wanted to taste along with a book of cake photos and told to let them know when we were done. The cakes were OK. Not as moist as I would have liked, but not terrible. I did enjoy the mango cream filling. Please note that this review is based on my wedding cake tasting experience, not of general bakery services or the staff. When we were done tasting our cakes, we waited about 10 minutes for the consultant to assist us. During that time, a few customers came in for the ready-made baked goods and the staff member in the storefront seemed attentive and helpful. I went to another cake-tasting before this one and would have liked more "hand-holding" during the process. If you'd like a more hands-off, laid-back cake tasting experience, this would be the place for you. Overall, their online appointment process was easy, their cake price was inexpensive, and the staff was perfectly nice.

Areen and the rest of the staff at Classic are amazing. My family has been ordering pastries from them for many years so when the time came for me to order my wedding cake I already knew I was in great hands. They made the process simple and fun and within 45 minutes we knew exactly what kind of cake we wanted and how we wanted it to look. This was by far the easiest part of our wedding planning and Classic make it perfect for us. I highly recommend classic bakery for any occasion.

Great fruit cake but poor service, first the cake was not ready for the time we asked for and okayed by staff, then the lady at the counter is really rude. Simply poor customer service, although the cake was good, the client experience ruined everything.

Heard a lot of great things about their cakes, that they were very good but more expensive. Went there and ordered an 8" round yellow cake for my daughter's 18th birthday. I must say that we were all disappointed. I appreciated the light whipped frosting and not being super sweet but the cake was very dry and bland, the premium filling we chose wasn't very flavorful either. Overall very disappointing for the $60 price. My daughter and I make tastier cakes than this one. The local grocery stores have a better tasting cake for 1/2 the price.

I called Classic Bakery the day before my daughter's birthday. They were able to locate the picture of the cake I wanted online (at Cakes.com ) and had the cake ready for her birthday the next day. It looked exactly like the picture, which is what I requested, and it was incredibly delicious!!! I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely be calling them in the future for all of my children's birthday cakes.

We recently had our wedding cake made from Classic Bakery and the experience was not what we had expected for the amount of money we paid. The beginning planning stages was an enjoyable and professional experience working with Areen. He is the only reason an extra star is awarded. We were promised not to worry and that everything would be taken care of after paying an extra delivery charge to take away the stress. We were also told not to worry and that they've done weddings in DC before. On the day of the wedding the deliverer was 1+ hour LATE and was LOST. He proceeded to call the bride and ask for directions after the name and number for the coordinator had been provided. Once he arrived at the venue, the deliverer was rude and unprofessional to the groom. Needless to say a terrible experience for a supposed renowned bakery - we expected better service. If we could do it again and had known the service would be followed up like this we would have gone with another bakery. For brides/grooms planning to order...beware...

I'm very picky about how cakes/icings taste, since I'm a baker, but this place blew me away! Everything I purchased was superb and the staff were all very friendly! I will stop back in when I'm in the area again. Yum!

I have been buying my children's birthday cakes here for four years now and never disappointed, just tried the signature fruit cake because of a groupon and it was so wonderful! Fresh, not too sweet, light, real fruit and real whipped cream. Love it!

I needed a cake right away so I ordered a chocolate mango to pick up for the next day. It was the most disgusting cake I ever tasted. The mango tasted more like mint than mango. The cake super dry and way too sweet for my liking. My coworker got the classic fruit cake and I tried hers. The cake wasn't dry but it still was too sweet. I would never go back here again.

I have been to this bakery since I was a kid.. It has always been my families and I's favorite spot for pastries & cake. I stopped here today for my mom's essential New Year needs and bought coffee ( Only Italian brew ) With some pastries. Great bakery with good service.. The owner is a family friend and very nice people. Only issue is employees might come off as rude sometimes or inattentive..

Who: Areen and staffs were attentive to my sugary needs. Nice folks. What: Classic Fruit Cake had me at hello. It's a perfect special occasion cake, or general gorge yourself treat. I could polish off a 7" cake all to myself. Though many bakeries carry fruit cakes, Classic Bakery is the best of the bunch: strawberry cream filled layer, cake, and fruits. Sweet stratification of perfection. Tiramisu cake, almond cake, baklava, (in bite sizes squares) are also dangerously good. Next time, don't show up to parties with boring wine or veggie platters. Get a 10" cake to share, and 6" for after party. AS *disclaimer: I became a friend of Areen M.(owner) years after I've been going to the bakery.

Rubic made a lovely cake for my father's milestone birthday. It was large (enough to feed 60 people), it looked beautiful (we didn't want to cut it!) and the customer service was impeccable. Rubic worked with me up until the night before the party to ensure that I had the right photo printed on the cake. And the cake was absolutely delicious. Our guests raved about it. Light, moist, so flavorful. Thank you so much for your wonderful work and customer service!

Soggy, wet cake's that are taste-less & frosting that super sweet! Even the bakery at Wegman's beats this place!

I have been going to this bakery since 2009, & it is one of my favorites in the Germantown area. However, I was a little disappointed when I visited the bakery the past few times, and thought it was under new management, due to the lack of service I was given. I decided to give them one last try, and I'm glad I did!! I must say that they're customer service have improved, a lot (compared to the last few disappointing visits). The owner genuinely cares for the service each customer gets, and the bakery is still under the same management. He explained that he hired new employees, and that they are still in training. I'm honestly happy that I gave them another try! I love their fruit cake, fruit tart (one of the best in the area), and cookies. I've also tried their ice cream, cookies & cream, and it was pretty good. They also have an amazing homemade apple pie, but I believe that it is only for the holiday season. After my most recent visit, I am now able to recommend this bakery to friends/family, knowing that they will be treated with great service.

Absolutely the best bakery I have ever been to. I had the Gata and I loved it. It's a nice sized portion and delicious. I also love the aroma and the attention to detail they provide their tasty treats with. Will definitely be going back to indulge.

I've finally actually been in the area & gotten to visit this establishment! The strip mall it's located within does not do this place justice - it's unassuming and one that I would not like twice at. However, Duke Chris L. guided us towards the light. Within its doors is a bright, clean shop. The cases are lined with beautiful, tasty looking treats. It was hard to narrow down just which delicasies I would fill my #1 box with (when you order you pick a numbered box - 1 being the smallest, 6 I believe is the largest). Eventually I decided on tiramisu, carrot cake, raspberry cake and a chocolate almond eclair. After leaving the bakery, I couldn't help but take one bite of each treat. Heaven! They were all fresh, moist and sweet, but not overly so. The price is calculated by weight and all of my selections cost me less than $5 - not bad at all! Classic Bakery & Cafe is still a winner in my book!

This place has been around even before I was born. There's a great assortment of different & decadent desserts. I like stopping by for a convenient treat every once & a while because it's a few minutes away from my house. There are different sized boxes that you can choose from & fill up the box with your favorite selection of desserts. The desserts are sold by pound. There is also ice cream, cake and other treats that can be found at the bakery.

I have been looking for a long time for a bakery, besides my old standby bakeries at either Stella's in Rockville or Balducci's in North Bethesda. We tried the blueberry pie as well as various pastry assortments. I must say, rave reviews from my family for the pie and the other assortments of pastries and cookies were delicious! I brought home their signature fruit cake and it was a hit! Very tasty and not too sweet. Ordering it again for New Years Day too.

Most items (not including the chocolates 1.25 each) are $12/lb. The cakes are not your traditional super sweet diabetes enriched sweets but are the toned down versions that are sweet but not too sweet and best of all fluffy and moist. This place can get pretty pricy especially if you have a knack for trying a little bit of everything.

their cakes are on point and fresh every time.... In response to the review makings a fuss about the 5 cents bags i refer them to the link below. Montgomery county requires them to collect the bag tax, so relax.... montgomerycountymd.gov/b…

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this bakery. Your patronage is not valued. For over 15 years I almost exclusively bought all cakes for special occasions from this place as I like to support local businesses. After giving them two chances-- I am here to warn you the owner of this bakery could care less about customer service or the quality of his products. My first bad experience occurred in August of 2013 when I ordered a custom cake for a baby shower. Although beautifully decorated and tasted good, we had 1/3 of the cake left over which we took home. The next day at a BBQ, I pulled the cake from the fridge for our BBQ guests to eat and I kid you not, this cake had a lot of MOLD towards the center! I was forced to throw it out. I called the bakery the next business day to let them know what happened; I was not requesting nor expecting any monetary reimbursement, just to inform them what occurred with a day old cake! Did they act concerned? No. The lady on the phone (limited English) said I probably left it out over night, which I did not as I am adamant about food hygiene. I left the convo at that. My second bad experience was this past October when I ordered a custom birthday cake. I printed out an 8"x10" colored photo of the cake design--quite simple. I went to pick up the cake and the color was completely off! Instead of turquoise, the cake was sea green plus it didn't have the décor clearly pictured in the photo. I was quite upset as it was supposed to be a theme cake. I requested to speak to the Manager/Owner who didn't show any concern nor offered to rectify the situation. When I questioned how could you get the color wrong and lack of décor when you have a photo as a guide, he yelled: "well there is nothing I can do!" I insisted he at the very least put one of the decorations on the cake so it ties it to the party theme. I knew nothing could be done about the cake's color two hours from party-time. He yelled at me that he was very busy--I know its a Saturday--but you should be trying to help a customer after you got the cake wrong and when I am paying $200! I refused to pay the remaining $50 balance after the owner yelled at me in front of his other clients and he continued to yell out as I walked away that he would take it out of the girl who accepted the order. How sad! If the owner treats his customers this way, I cannot imagine how he must treat his employees. Never again will they get my patronage. Luckily there are several bakeries in this area to choose from with delicious (mold-free) cakes and an amicable storefront that treats customers with basic respect. You've been warned.

Areen is so welcoming and personable yet very professional. It's always a joyful experience. Every birthday, since I discovered this place, I've bought my cake from here. (6 years now) It's my go-to place from sweet cravings (personal slices of cake) to Gata (sweet bread MUST TRY) and of course custom designed cakes. You won't regret it. They have EVERYTHING!!!!

I recommend their light baklava! Apparently, it doesn't contain nuts, but the flaky pastry is still wonderfully sweet and satisfying. They have four or five different varieties, as well as a large number of other pastries including creme and custard filled Napoleons. Dangerous addictions would definitely surface if I lived or worked closer to this bakery. I agree with a previous reviewer that the minions who work here aren't the happiest campers. They look sick of their lives, as though they're in baked goodie hell. Smile and eat some light baklava!!

As often happens with new places I visit, a Groupon brought me here. Couldn't resist a deal for a pretty pictures of a fruity cake. The bakery is clean and well organized in a small strip mall in Gaithersburg. As soon as you walk in, you can smell all the yummies. I didn't stay long since I had to hurry to VA, but looking around they had plenty of options for everyone with a sweet tooth. It was hard to stay focused on what I came to do, and of course I got distracted and ended up getting some baklava as well. The baklava is amazing! It is not traditional (as I took one piece down to my mother to try and she hated it) so if that is your preference, steer clear. However my boyfriend and I enjoyed it so much, after we left for dinner, we came back for a little bit more. The Groupon deal was for a small 6" round Signature Fruit Cake. It is absolutely amazing! Very light and fluffy, creamy and fruity without any of the flavors overpowering the others. Visually it is perfect, I only wish I had an event I could have brought it to! The only 2 reasons I am unable to give this place 5 stars (and keep in mind for me a 4 star rating is still excellent, it is just not perfect). 1. The employees seemed annoyed, agitated or something unpleasant. This is the only bakery to my recollection I have not been greeted by cheerful, friendly employees without smiles, which to me is a crucial part of a bakery visit experience. Don't sweets make people happy? I strongly recommend the owner gives each of its employees the book, "The Happiness Advantage" by Shawn Achor. 2. The location could be better. Again, it is a fabulous job though with what they have. It just feel more like a "store" than a "bakery" if you know what I mean. (You know how bakeries usually have a home like feeling? That wasn't there).

Just bought Napoleon Pastry which should be made of fellows (thin bread) and filled with cream. At home we realized the pastry was not fresh by fellow bread absorbed all the moist of the cream and became very soggy and dough looking. It was very disappointing since it was for a special occasion. Considering Classic now charges $14.5 per pound for all types of pastry and realizing they are not rolling out the stale pastry then such a high price is not justified. With price of flour, sugar, and egg, on the average being around one dollar per pond such business practice is deceptive.

Yummy cakes.. but very expensive.. would buy more often if price is reasonable. Right now will order from there only for very very important occasions.

I like this bakery very much. But I do not recommend their groupon fruit cake. I recent bought one groupon for 7 inch fruit cake. They pulled it from the back and when I got home to taste it, it tasted much much different than the normal full price fruit cake. The fake groupon version is very sweet, the bread is dry and there are way too much creams in between the bread. It was worse than any grocery store. I ate one wedge and throw the rest away. So do not buy groupon version fruit cake. I do not know who baked them, but it tasted like novice people training version. So spend the money and get the full price stuff. You get what you paid for.

OM NOM NOM!! My therapist and I believe my cake addiction stems back to the first time I ever bit into a cake from Classic Bakery & Cafe. So moist and so damn delicious with just the right amount of icing... perfection in every last crumb... ahh! I don't even know where to begin. Any time I'm going to anyone's house, I go out of my way (since they are located up I-270) to stop by Classic and pick up some treats. If for some reason I can't, my friends pretty much refuse to let me into their homes until I have a box from Classic in my hands. I swear, they lace their cakes with crack! The owners, the Movessian family, are incredibly kind and helpful as well. I'm notorious for forgetting birthdays and other special occasions, but somehow, they always manage to help me look good by pulling off the incredible. From last second cakes decorated to perfection, to custom sweet platters, even if they can't do exactly what I need, they are always so quick to provide an alternative that it more than makes up for my lack of planning. If only they'd pay for my gym membership, because really, the only reason I belong to Lifetime is because of their darn tasty cakes!!

I saw on their Facebook page that they offered cakepops, my new favorite dessert obsession. When I went into the store the woman a) didn't know what cake pops were; and b) was unnecessarily rude to me. She even went as far as to ask me to show me on their Facebook page when it said they offered cake pops. I didn't even want to try anything after that so I can't even review the quality of their baked goods. Its too bad. They looked good. Hopefully others have a better experience than I did.

I ordered my wedding cake as well as my baby shower cake from there. They were both excellent. They have variety of pastries to select from. They are all fresh and yummy. Their decoration is very simple, they don't have that much variety, but they all tastes good.

My BF and his sister bought a cake here for their mother's birthday. It was expensive ($39 I think) but totally worth it. The top consisted of a beautiful fruit tart; inside was moist white cake with layers of strawberry creme icing. If you are looking for a good quality cake and something different from the average grocery store offering I definitely recommend this place. They sell a variety of baked goods and various Persian food products. They are open on Sundays!

We (my family and extended family) have been customers at this bakery for the last 15 years and have spent a lot of money here. Cakes for any and many occassions, GATA bread etc. Yet this last visit is going to be our last visit here. We bought a bunch of stuff from them (close to $50.00 worth) and it could not fit into the one plastic bag they gave us. They then charged us 5 cents to put the stuff we had already paid for in a second bag. The girl who was serving us would not give us the bag until we laid down the 5 cents on the counter. Rude and cheap! I should have returned some of the stuff we bought, but my parents and in-laws were with me so that I did not want to create a scene, at that time. And truly I was stunned at her behavior at the moment. This kind of business practice is what is going to deprive them of my custom in the future. Their cakes/eats are not unique nor are they cheap. So when they do this kind of stuff, they probably didn't care whether I was going to return or not, so I'm done wasting my money with them.

Best fruit tarts in the area, period. I have been a customer for the past 15 years, and have found no other place in this area that has better fruit tarts (believe me, I have looked). Their fruit cakes are also excellent, with just the right amount of sugar. There is a large selection of middle-eastern sweets that are all good.

I've been waiting months to review this bakery since it's right next to Great Beginnings and that would have given some info away. If you're a guy with a sweet tooth like me, and you find yourself in front of that gigantic baby warehouse, do yourself a favor, give the mama to be a head start, and duck out to the bakery for a box of cookies and a good cup of coffee to help you stay focused when you have to pick out glider upholstery patterns. They have all the classic cookies that I remember from a childhood in NY and the coffee is nice and strong. The cakes looked good, so I might pick one up next time we're in the area, but I definitely recommend the chocolate cookies and the linzer tart cookies.

Thanks yelp! We were looking for a dessert spot, and this ended up being the perfect suggestion. We got there right as they closed (7:30!!) and got a box of assorted pastries to share. At $12.50 a pound we were able to get 3 mini cakes, 2 mini fruit tarts and a cookie for around 5 dollars. Score! And they were all delicious. Our favorite was the recommended Napoleon with custard- we would have gone back to buy a second if they weren't already closed. The fruit tart and tiramisu cake were also quite tasty. I found the chocolate cake a bit blah, but passable. I would definitely return if I lived in the area! Perfect for the occasional small, delicious and affordable treat.

Based on reviews from fellow yelpers, I came to Classic to quote some prices on a cake for a party a few weeks away. While there, I decided to try a cupcake to see if the goods tasted as great as others said on Yelp. Cupcake equals smaller version of cake, right? Well, I will say this... if their cakes are anything like that cupcake, I will definitely NOT be purchasing. That cupcake was the driest thing I ever had.... and ice cream couldn't even mask it. I guess I will have continue the hunt for my cake...

have been frequenting this bakery since it opened near my office, almost 20 years ago. To be honest, I gave a less than stellar review to it about a year ago. Since then, a lot has changed - the store has been spruced up, the counter staff are new, and the baked goods are once again worth the trip. To begin - who am I and why should you trust my updated review? First, I am of Turkish extraction - we love our coffee and pastries, and are notoriously picky about them. Second, as I youth I trained to be a chef and did a stint in a pastry shop. Believe me, I know good pastry. I returned to Classic Bakery today after a long absence. The ambiance has greatly improved, and the staff now are incredibly pleasant and helpful. The proprietor, Nareen, is also very pleasant and professional - he truly cares about his store and his products, and wants his customers to be more than satisfied. I started with a small cup of Turkish coffee - it was great! I finally have a place where I can go for a good cup of Turkish coffee - fragrant, not bitter, and slightly sweet. I left with an assorted box of pastries - bakalava, fruit and custard tarts, Nazhook, and miniature chocolate cream cakes. They were all out of this world. The bakalava was filled with nuts, slightly sweet, with a beautifully balanced mix of fragrant spices. Excellent pastry - thin, flaky, delicate and slightly chewy. The Nazhook were perfect - light, slightly chewy, filled with cinnamon - slightly sweet and not overwhelming. (There are two things that I believe are a perfect accompaniment to good coffee - a well made Nazhook, and galette de Breton. For the second one must go to France. For Nazhook - you only need to go to Gaithersburg). Fruit and custard tarts were great - and probably the moistest tarts I have ever encountered - very impressive. The miniature chocolate cream cakes were sinful. Great, deep, rich chocolate taste, yet light and airy, with an marvelous mouth feel. Kudos to Nareen and his family. This is once again my favorite bakery - and now that I know they have good Turkish coffee, I will be a frequent customer.

After the positive reviews on yelp, I decided on this bakery for my baby's baptism cake. I couldn't be happier. The cake was BEAUTIFUL. Stunning. And as delicious as the best wedding cake I've ever tried. I had a yellow cake with strawberry cream. The cake and cream were light and delicious. The icing was creamy and not at all sweet. My cake was ordered for 6pm and I called at 3 to see if I could pick it up and was told it wasn't done yet. You can't get any fresher than that. I highly recommend this bakery. The fruit tart I bought at the counter wasn't too bad either.

Decided to pay a visit, seeing as my boyfriend is a fanatic about this place. When I first walked in, I thought it was a little grimy. We bought about 20 dollars worth of little cakes. The fruit tarts with custard was super delicious! But literally EVERYTHING else we bought ( a big variety ) was wayy too sweet! Maybe it's just me, but none of the cakes we tried really wow'd me, but he was more than happy to eat all the cakes himself.

I think that my mom has ordered every single one of our special occasion cakes from this place for the last 15 years. They have many Middle Eastern desserts like baklava but are definitely known for their cakes. Even 15 years ago they have been making some of the yummiest, most attractive and different cakes around. They were seriously one of the only places around here making the 'fruit on top w/ clear gelatin' cakes that I saw. I've had so many different flavors: mocha, vanilla w/ strawberry creme, fruit, almond, chocolate and it's all been delicious. I think what makes their cakes so good is that they're not so sugary sweet. The cake and frosting is lighter with a flavor that's more true. Like the strawberry or coffee flavors aren't so fake. I've also seen how they've been able to keep their cake designing modern bc the last cake we got this past January had really intricate chocolate designs on it, similar to anything I've seen on the Food Network. This bakery has definitely grown and with good reason. I think they have a cafe now with sandwiches, gelato and a display case full of desserts. Keep them in mind when you need a good cake!

A fantastic find for a perfect cake! I wanted my wedding cake to be beautiful and yummy at the same time. And these people know how to make a good cake and to make it look exceptional. Finally, the price was reasonable, at least compared to bakeries in DC.

It is so far the nicest bakery I found in Germantown. It is not an Italian or Franch type of bakery, so if you are looking for something very chocolative.... NO, you won't find it here. It's more like a south American type of Bakery. They have lots of Latin sweets. Their fruit tarts are yummy.

Grabbed a quick snack here after visiting Great Beginnings next door. Ordered some coffee and some treats. I was looking for items that were dairy free and they had about 10 items to choose from. everything was tasty. Maybe not worth the trip from falls church just for their dessert but tasty enough to stop in if you are in the area.

I ordered a cake for my baby shower here and I was absolutely satisfied with the result. The cake was pretty and as I expected it to be and it was delicious. The thing I liked the best about it (besides it looked really cute!) was it's been made with light cream and not those heavy frosting which nobody eats. But you need to mention that to them so they see if it is possible to make your desired style with light cream or not.

Amazing! Delicious! Best customer service! Areen, Rubic & team, thank you so much for making our wedding cake dream come alive! Not only did you make the cake exactly how we wanted it, it was the most delicious cake our guests had ever had! They were asking for seconds! This isn't the first time I ordered cakes from Areen so I knew I could trust him but they blew our expectations! I recommend classic bakery to everyone and anyone!! Thank you thank you thank you!

I always aways always get my cakes from here for any occasion. They make the cakes perfect from the taste to the presentation. I got a heart shaped light strawberry cake for a welcome-back-cake. The nice man offered to tie the box with a bow. I always have a great experience no matter how busy or crowded Im never disappointed or waiting too long they get me out fast and happy. This was a very last second run in for a cake & I was hoping to settle for whatever cake was ready but I can always count on classic bakery, nothing tastes horrible :)

Customer Service is in a word 'EVERYTHING'. My first review of the Classic Bakery was based on the service that I had received on Tuesday, November 28th when I requested information for a speciality cake, which was poor. I did not expect that the owner/manager, Mr. Areen Movsessian, would email me the next day and try to rectify the service that I had received. Mr. Movsessian apologized for the service that I received and offered to amend the situation. He did. I am a satisfied customer and will be doing business with the Classic Bakery in the future as well as recommending their services.

My dad won't eat cake from anywhere else. For his birthday, this is all he ever wants - a fruit cake from Classic Bakery. They are absolutely wonderful. Moist, but not goopy (I would think they would be with all that fruit action)...They've really got the perfect balance of sweetness in this cake. This is always a safe, crowd pleasing cake!

I love this little bakery. They make beautiful cakes for any occasion, as well as yummy unique little pastries, cookies, etc., and Middle Eastern desserts such as baklava. A favorite of mine for celebrations of any kind (birthday, anniversary, etc.) is the fruit tart style cake. It's a mildly sweet white cake, with a very light whipped frosting and strawberry whipped buttercream-like filling between the layers, with beautifully arranged glazed fresh fruits on top. In the shop I saw some very impressive wedding cake designs and more elaborate fondant decorated cakes, however I haven't tried these.

I usually can't tell the difference in cakes. Everytime I have a cake or cupcake from one of those well known places or homemade cake that everyone raves about, I don't really understand what everyone is talking about. Even the times that we stopped by to get little desserts from Classic Bakery, I'm usually not that impressed. However everytime I take a bite out of a cake from Classic Bakery, the first thing I think is how that's really good cake. The cream almost tastes like ice cream and the cake is nice and moist. Just the way I like it. So four stars for their cake!

As a returning customer, I can say with certainty that they have the best cakes, pastries, and baklavas, i've ever tasted. I brought one of their birthday cakes ($21) for a co-worker's birthday two years ago. long story short, no birthday in our office goes without a cake from this bakery now.

Excellent cupcakes. Went in to get cupcakes for work one day-forgot it was someone's birthday- didn't know if they would have enough since I didn't order ahead but they did. The cupcakes were moist, delicious and decorated nicely. Plan to go back to try out the coffee.

The pastries are delicious. The coffee selection is decent. They sell REAL FOOD (sandwiches). Because I had trouble deciding what I wanted, when I was ready, someone who was in line behind me was helped first. So, take your time because the selection is great but don't take too long or even when you're ready you might not get noticed!

I absolutely love this place. I received great customer service from beginning to end. I ordered a baby shower cake for a friend and the young lady that helped me was so attentive and patient. I wish I can remember her name because she was lovely. She did an excellent job offering me ideas because I was so overwhelmed with what flavors to choose. I will definitely order a cake from this bakery for future events.

We've been getting birthday cakes here for years. Their cakes are moist, not too sweet and always look fresh. What I really like about this place are the cookies. I've finally found a place that does really great almond/nut flour cookies. They had these little cookies that look like the dough part to a French macaron and it was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It was perfect!

Holy expensive! I called to get a cake for 10 people for my son's birthday. I wanted something cute for a one year old. The teddy bear 3-D cake is $85. The flat teddy bear cake is $75. I would have paid $45 - but to double that would be insane. Guess I'm going to Costco.

I needed a cake last minute, they were closed but I called and they opened the door and saved my day. The cake was so worth the $$. Great selection & very accommodating.

Man, is that fruit cake delicious!!! My family has been frequent Stella's customers for their fruit cake since forever-and-a-half ago, and we've been quite tired of it for a while. My cousin started bringing it to family birthdays, and it's a great new replacement! The strawberry cream filling is light, fluffy and amazing. I also need to figure out whatever those small crunching topping-things are that adorn the side of the cake!!! Whoever makes that should sell it in its own packaging as a snack!
