I was up in King Farm (North Rockville) to pick up this girl for a date about a month ago. She wanted ice cream, and I recommended Bruster's. I had it once in southern MD, and it was really good. Also, when I lived in Birmingham, Alabama for a year in 2010 some people from the church I sometimes went to talked about the one at the bottom of the hill from the church and how good it was, but I had never tried it. On this warm June Saturday night, we got there, and the parking lot and place was packed. People were crowding the parking lot, which made it even more challenging to get a parking space. For a Saturday night in Gaithersburg, this was probably the biggest (& maybe best) hangout (Ok...j/k...maybe the Rio has a few more people & has some cooler spots). When we finally got to the counter to order, they were friendly. We enjoyed what I would argue is the best ice cream in the DC area (Unfortunately, there are no locations in Virginia, where I live). We were lucky enough to get one of just about two benches to sit and eat. I should've gotten napkins since it was melting rapidly on this hot night (Thank you climate change...haha...j/k...it's summer in DC), but luckily I have emergency napkins in the car. Unfortunately, the date itself wasn't too good, but these things happen.

Great price for the amount of ice cream you get! I've driven by Brusters in the past, but finally decided to stop by on a hot summer day (thanks in part to coupons that they always mail to my house). The coupon was a BOGO regular waffle cone, so the boyfriend and I ordered one each. A regular waffle cone fits three scoops. And these scoops are GIANT!! You can also order different flavor scoops, so I ordered the Graham Canyon (one of their summer specials) and a vanilla raspberry swirl with chocolate chips. SO GOOD. But also, so much ice cream!! I think I'd opt for a smaller size next time. I like how they have different flavors often; this gives me a good reason to check it out regularly, haha! Also, what I thought was pretty funny, was that they had a poster on the side of the building that was advertising one scoop cones to seniors only. What if *I* just want a single scoop? Does that make me a senior citizen? Does that imply that the older you get, the less ice cream you'll want? If so, then I hope I never grow old!

Best place for ice-cream in Gaithersburg! On hot days there's always a crazy line, but if you go through the drive-through it's way faster! There isn't much seating so I always grab a icecream and sit in my car. Brusters also frequently sends out coupons in the mail or you can sign up for the online for their e-club. Brusters makes all of their ice-cream daily in-house! My favorite flavor is the Nutty Coconut. Last time I came, I wasn't a big fan of the birthday cake flavor -- there was too much of the blue icing in it and it was too sweet. Bring the kids and pets -- Brusters offers free kiddie cones to kids under 40 inches and free doggy sundaes!

I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not a fan of ice cream. It's one of my least favorite desserts. About the only time in my life I've found ice cream to be a necessity is on top of my mom's fresh blueberry cobbler, right out of the oven. And then, it was french vanilla only. But, between the oppressive humidity, heat, and insistence from my boss that Bruster's is THE place to go for ice cream, I finally gave in. I mean, I've only lived across the road from the place for a year, staring at it every time I turn onto 355. To force myself to feel a little less guilty about this obvious breach of my otherwise fairly healthy diet, I strolled over, and was immediately faced with the line. If you've been to Bruster's, you know what I'm talking about. The line does look intimidating, but it moves fairly quickly, and it's sort of a blessing, because there are a lot of flavors to choose from. So take your time, and make the right choice (or at least narrow it down to a few you'd like to taste) We were greeted by a chipper young girl and without anything about this place, got two small cones; one Death By Chocolate and one Caramel Sea Salt. Both were fairly soft ice creams, more frozen custard like, actually. There's definitely a good amount of cream (i.e. fat). The Caramel one was a little on the salty side (though, for having salt in the name, I expected it), and left me a bit parched but it was pretty tasty. Could use just a bit better balance. The chocolate one, however, was extraordinary. The waffle cones were fresh, crunchy and delicious. The small size was too large for me to finish on my own. That would be something to keep in mind if you are not big on ice cream (kid's sizes are available, and that will be my next order). But for someone who doesn't dream of ice cream, I find myself wanting to go back very soon.

The best ice cream place in town!!! They have awesome hand made ice creams. You can always find a coupon and get 1$ off on any item. My husband loves the pistachio. I have tried many flavours, Oreo , raspberry chocolate truffle , chocolate chip, and all are delicious!! They have the best brownie and ice cream. The shakes are also worth a try. Overall it is a must go place if you are in town, which explains the long queue at all times.

They have a pretty decent roadside ice cream stand. Prices are ok and the portions are fairly generous. The ice cream is nothing to write home about but it is certainly well above acceptable. They do tend to get backed up when they get a bunch of orders leading to some wait time.

I have always passed this place when I'm driving but never stopped there. I wondered what it was since I am new to the area I had no idea it was an ice cream place with real home made ice cream! I just started working at the bank that the owner Bob uses and we started talking and I noticed he had a Brusters polo on and I asked him about it and that's when he told me he owned the place and what it was. He is the friendliest guy ever! I finally went there with my boyfriend who also had never been there and we loved it! The ice cream was really tasteful and creamy and the portions are good sized. And the staff is so nice! This is definitely the spot to go during those hoooot summer nights. I love it :)

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Brusters! Delicious homemade ice cream is served in generous portions with many flavors from which to choose. Brusters also has special flavors just for seasons and holidays. A kiddie-sized cone with one scoop of ice cream is perfect for satisfying the ice cream craving. They also make ice cream cakes, which are always a hit at kids' birthday parties. I think you get a discount on sundaes if you bring your own banana. There's also a discount if it's raining or snowing. Brusters is in a standalone building with a red awning, tucked in a little bit from 355, but it's visible from 355. It's a little hard to see the place until you're passing it, but there are two entrances in case you miss the first one. There is plenty of parking. Ice cream is ordered from outside. There's some outdoor seating, but not a lot. Brusters also has a drive-through, just in case you're on a just-broke-up-with-whoever-and-there's-mascara-running-down-my-face ice cream run and you don't feel like waiting outside.

I have tried so many ice-creams but I definitely tasted heaven in the Busters Coconut chip ice-cream. After long day of walking around at cherry blossom festival, my friend who lives in the area took me to Busters for treat. They make their own ice-cream fresh daily and that defiantly reflects in the intense real flavors in the ice-cream. The server was really friendly and give you as many tastings as you like to figure out personal favorite flavors. the price is reasonable and scoops sizes are definitely big. They even have drive-in if you are on the road and need to take a quick stop for ice-cream.

Love love love Bruster's! The ice cream is always amazing here... anytime of year. Best part, I can get ice cream for my dog. She loves this place! I recommend anything in a waffle cone!

This was some dang good ice cream. Sure it was a blustery cold evening...but why should that stop you from having some delicious frozen dairy? Plus...there's a drive-through! We walked up but then ate in our cars because let's face it...cold weather + cold treats = cold people. They were super nice about having multiple samples because they have so many delicious sounding flavors that it's super hard to choose. I went with the white raspberry truffle and sea salt caramel. The truffle was good - my fav of the two. The sea salt caramel was alright...it felt more salty than caramelly...though I would probably get something else as my second flavor next time. The sizing is insane... a small was still giant to me. And was only $3.50ish? Amazing. Of course we're coming back. Because...drive through!!

Here are the reasons other than having delicious ice cream to visit Brusters: 1) Drive Through. They have a drive thru. Seriously. You could park your car, and walk two feet to the window, or stay in your car and go through the drive-thru window. For someone who spends most of her day thinking about how to get food as close to my mouth as possible without excessive use of movement, this place is awesome. 2) Coupons and free ice cream galore. There's always a deal here. Basically every time you go they give you a $1 off coupon for a waffle cone, or sundae. They also offer free ice cream if it rains and you are in line. They give free cone if they are under a certain height, which is great for kids or me basically. Basically if you go here often enough you will never pay full price for ice cream. 3) Extensive seasonal flavors. Flavors like pumpkin, black raspberry, egg nog, apple pie. I am a purist and just usually opt for coffee. It has a strong coffee flavor, and not too sweet. One of my favorites. I also love the Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye - which is butterfudge Ice Cream with Peanut Butter and Buckeyes. I have no idea what butterfudge is but it's good and the buckeyes are mini peanut butter cups.I read they have coffee oreo flavor but have yet to see it. The day I do, I will practically live here 4)Waffle cone sleeves.Glaciers melt at a faster rate than me eating. Although I love ice cream, basically it makes a big mess because I am the slowest eating mammal on earth. Seriously, see this video of this sloth lying down eating vegetables ( youtube.com/watch?v=xiE5… )? It is eating way too fast compared to me. So what's my point here? Essentially, their waffle cone sleeves made out of plastic, not those cheapo paper ones, have saved many a cute summer dress because my ice cream always turns to soup because I can't seem to generate enough licks per minute. Without the threat of ice cream melting all over myself and I can take 3-4 hours to enjoy the deliciousness of my ice cream cone. So if you're looking for friendly service and ice cream to enjoy in your car maybe, go here. I'd come back but I'm still eating my cone from last week.

This is a nearby ice cream shop that is very popular in the area. The good; try their seasonal pumpkin ice cream. Otherwise; this place just doesn't hit home for me. There is another ice cream place in the area that is my true favorite! So I will continue to go there. Bruster's does have a broad selection, but nothing that I crave or need often.

  • Shirley D.

For almost $5 for a small waffle cone, you get a pretty decent size. This ice cream is DELICIOUS. I remember Brusters from my elementary school days in the Midwest. I do not come this way often down 355, but the next time I do, I will need to try another flavor other than chocolate chip. The Oreo looks good! Bonus star for the Drive-Thru!

I was in the area for something else when lo and behold something caught my attention - Brewster's Ice Cream. I thought to myself - Oh, that must be the place that some of my Yelp friends have been talking about, so I knew I had to go check it out. I had read a few of the reviews thanks to Priscilla Y, Emma W, Ruth C and Chris L and knew what I wanted. So on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, I decided to stop and check this place out. I knew I wanted Rum Raisin as my ice cream flavor in a cup (did not care about the size as I wanted it to go). A girl opened a window and said to me "How can I help you?" and of course I asked for Rum Raisin. However, on this particular day, they did not have that flavor. I guess I did not pay attention to the menu. Go figure. So I had to step back and decide on something else. It was at this time that I decide to look more carefully at the menu. I saw different cup sizes, but decided I was not going to get that again. I saw pictures of waffle cones, but did not really see a sugar cone as a choice (maybe it was on the menu but I did not see it). However, I knew I could get one as I had read some Yelp reviews. Secondly, I now had to decide on another flavor. I was going to get Pistachio, but since this was my first time at this place, I decided to go all out and try the flavor called "Graham Central Station" as I wanted to see for myself what it was all about. That ice cream flavor - Graham Central Station, was so delicious. Initially I was taken aback only because it looked like light chocolate (in color), with different things in it and I am not a fan of chocolate (as I thought to myself). The flavor is described as "Graham Ice Cream with Graham Cracker and Chocolate Flakes". Taste vs Looks can change your whole thought process and in this case it did for me. I can now say that I am a huge fan of this flavor and I plan to go back to this place and check out some more flavors on any beautiful day.

went here after my favorite sushi place, yuraku. Brusters was just down the street. First time here and immediately was intrigued at the line, during a brisk 45deg F night in April. Needless to say the word 'homemade' caught my eye and went to my ordering. I was craving a waffle cone like whoa and almost ordered the 5 scoop monster, but decided on the 3 scoop. My brother mom and dad shared their own 3 scoop cone, but i was way hungry so 3 scoops seemed legit. My flavors were chocolate, oreo, and peanut butter oreo. OH MY. The cashier girl was really cool and let me taste the peanut butter oreo flavor on a tasting spoon, which was probably the size of 2 Tbsp of icecream! The homemade 'taste' really came through on these scoops. Never have i tasted an 'oreo' flavor like Brusters, and oreo is my favorite ice cream flavor ordered anywhere I go. The ice cream was really creamy and chunks of oreo in the ice cream were gigantic. The scoops were big and the taste was awesome. All three scoops were to die for. Price was probably...5$ ? well worth the price. Loved it....better than over the counter Mall Ice cream places. I WILL RETURN 100%. Added a picture for good health. Hope this helps someone somewhere who i craving bomb icecream.

The cookie dough tastes old and freezer burnt. The other flavors just taste like cheap mass produced ice cream from the grocery store.

Bruster's is amazingly delicious! It is one of the best places in MoCo for delicious homemade ice cream that isn't going to empty your wallet! Their ice cream is made fresh daily and they have so many different flavors that is ever changing. My favorite is the Graham Central Station, which of course has graham crackers and chocolate flakes. Their pistachio comes in a close second. I love their milkshakes! They also have ice cream cakes and pies if you need to pick something up last minute. This isn't a store, but a walk-up establishment and a drive through. They do have limited outdoor seating and plenty of parking. The staff here are always friendly. It's a great alternative to ice cream chains like Haagen Daaz, Cold Stone, and Marble Slab. It's a little out of the way, but definitely worth it!

Best mint chocolate chip I've ever had! Generous scoops and awesome service. The drive-through is a godsend. Can't wait to come back and try every flavor!

This is and old school Ice Cream place with good flavors of ice cream. They only have a couple of benches outdoors to sit on, but they also have a drive-thru! The menu changes regularly and their Ice Cream always hits the spot! The shop is not easily visible from Rte 355 but there is plenty of parking once you get there.

I love this place! Its an outdoor stand with limited seating. There is a wide variety of flavors. The ice cream is homemade and is sooo creamy. There's not really too much open around this place. It's a little depressing, but ice cream makes everything better!!

Very good ice cream. My favorite is birthday cake and chocolate Oreo. Reasonable prices. However, very slow service. Never enough people working. The drive thru is a lot faster than waiting in line!

My Yelp people rave about this place, so after a quick dinner of warm pho... it was necessary that I shock my system back into submission with something frozen, our group decided to head over to Brewster's. I was quite amused when our group of eight arrived about 15 minutes before closing and you could hear the mumbles of the crew inside saying, 911... Emergency, all hands on deck. I appreciate their enthusiasm on a late Wednesday night. Bravo for getting us all taken care of quickly, and with a smile. I opted out of getting "ice cream" for reasons I can't really explain. I was a bit parched from my salty pho dinner and decided on regular sized orange freeze. The freeze was made with their house made Orange Sherbet, Sprite, and probably unicorn tears or something else that made it phenomenal! The regular is, um... huge. I can't even imagine what the large looks like. Think ... Big Gulp. My friends ordered the Halloween special flavor, I can't remember the catchy name they had for it, but it was rather delicious as well. The portion size is insane, the regular cone easily had 2 large scoops of ice cream. This place makes me happy. They even have a drive through for the super stealth ice cream cravings! ____ pst... I've been told the halloween ice cream was called "hallowscream!!", yummy stuff!

Went to Bruster's with fellow yelpers for some post dinner adventure. I tried quite a few flavors and was really impressed. Their pumpkin patch, death by chocolate, and mocha almond fudge are must try's. But the star of the show was the Graham Central Station, which is what i ended up getting. Just thinking of it makes me drool. :) Definitely going back for more ice-cream awesomeness :)

Bruster's is a real gem! If you're an ice cream lover, this is the place for you. They have more than a dozen flavors that are made fresh daily. They have the basic vanilla, chocolate, etc. and then a ton of other what I would call "fun flavors" like cookies and cream, mint choc chip, & much more. I most recently had a seasonal favorite - pumpkin with graham cracker swirls throughout - and it was delicious. Their flavors are rich yet not overpowering, and you can always tell how fresh it is because the ice cream is soft and super delicious! Bruster's is not a store; they're a stand-alone venue in the middle of a shopping center parking lot; you can either walk up to the windows to order or use the drive thru option. They have benches set up for when the weather is nice too so that people can enjoy their snack outside. They have a case of ice cream cakes to choose from too. I've not had one but I can't imagine they're any less delicious than the ice cream on it's own. They have smoothie and blizzard/mcflurry type options too if you're not feelin a scoop in a cup or a cone. Just a heads up that their portions are quite generous -- a small is two scoops!! If you're in the area, you definitely need to stop at Bruster's for a yummy treat!

My fiance's sister, niece and nephew were staying with us for the summer and love sweets especially ice cream. We got a coupon in the mail and decided to try out this place. The place was packed this summer evening. Parking was full but we fortunately found a spot. They had 4 different registers going which was great compared to other places that typically only have 1-2 at a time. We got through the line quickly and the service was very good. They have a long list of flavors. My family was very pleased and able to find more than one flavor they would want. I - however couldn't. I am someone who isn't crazy about chocolate. I love fruit and fun fusion flavors like lavender or Asian ingredients like green tea and etc. There was literally nothing I wanted. Not even strawberry. So I had to go with the vanilla which was plain Jane. While it was good and super creamy. It was plain and I was bored. The kids got chocolate brownie something and cotton candy nerd flavor. They were in heaven. On the plus side, they have free dog ice cream! We got a small cup for our pup. The ice cream comes with a dog biscuit which was really cute. She loved and ate the entire ice cream in point 10 seconds. The downfall? She was sick for 2 days afterwards which consisted of me cleaning up the house every few hours. Prices are good. In the end, this place is great for those who like candy and chocolate flavors. Otherwise, you won't be happy here. And I don't recommend the dog ice cream unless you have a large dog that can handle it. My dog is 18 lbs and she couldn't.

You should be able to spot the store while driving on 355 (long road though). While on 355 and Costco is on your right then Brusters will be on the right. They have seasonal flavors. I wanted to try the pecan pie flavor but they ran out :( A few people I know really like the ice cream here and the apple dumpling. I tried the death by chocolate and the chocolate with hersheys special dark chocolate and both were really good! :) The staff is really friendly! I tried a lot of samples and they continued to give me more samples with a smile on their face :D They also give out huge samples compared to other places :) I've heard the white russian is also really good. They just didn't have it when I went. I do wanna go again and try some other flavors.

The ice cream was very good but the scoops are small, basically kid scoops. Ask for your ice cream by size and not scoop. They are friendly and the line moved quickly.

Yummy! Bruster's has been around since '89, founded by Bruce Reed, in Bridgewater, PA. It was to showcase his recipe for homemade ice cream, and there are many locations throughout the US, where they still make all the desserts/cakes/pies/waffle cones/ice creams right on the premise. They had a variety of flavors of ice cream, such as Mint Chocolate Chip, Banana, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Death by Chocolate, Cherry Vanilla, Mango, S'mores, Nutella Crunch. etc. I had the Graham Central Station and the Butter Brickle (an extra scoop) in the Dino Sundae style - this actually came with a big dinosaur sugar cookie with colorful purple sprinkles (YES!)! You can sample as many flavors as you want (the sample spoons are so generous!), so if you're indecisive like me, take advantage of this! I looooved the Graham Central Station as it had chunks of graham cracker crusts throughout; the Butter Brickle was toffee/brown sugary goodness and more rich in flavor. My husband had an Oreo Blast Mix-In, which was just vanilla with tons of Oreo cookie chunks throughout (it was just okay). Meage, the sweet sweet employee that was helping us, was quite lovely (ask for her when you're there!)! I loved the generous portions, the generous samplings, and the deliciousness of the ice cream. It was a nice little treat after a meal :D There are some benches around for you to enjoy your treat outside. As a side note, kids who are 40" or shorter gets a free baby cone :D Also, if you bring your own banana, you get half off on your banana splits! :D +Graham Central Station ice cream +Butter Brickle ice cream +Dino Sundae (comes with one scoop and a Dino sugar cookie!) +ask for Meage, the awesome employee there!

Warning: The ice cream REALLY is the size of a bunny, as Fenny L. stated in her review. We drove up from VA to grab some sushi one night in Gaithersburg, and we stopped by Bruster's after dinner. It was a bustling summer Monday night. Loooots of people, and a line (but it moved quickly!). The portions are MONSTROUS. Why oh why did I order a waffle cone? Mind you, it was delicious (But I mixed up in my head sugar cone with the big waffle cones, and ended up getting more than twice the amount I had intended...) My small waffle cone was 2 large scoops! Choco peanut butter buckeye was yummy. Very flavorful and thick, compared to the lighter Oreo that my bf had. Oreo tastes like vanilla w/ Oreo cookies, btw. Good service, fast, and they have punchcards. Summer ain't complete without an ice cream treat! Yay Brusters!

The raspberry chocolate truffle is the best ice cream of all time :) Best quality Ice cream in Gaithersburg/Montgomery Village area. Can't beat the selection of flavor. A must stop if in the area.

Last night, we went to Bruster's. It happened. We were rained out the evening prior (being California cowards when it comes to lightening), and spontaneously abandoned the dinner dishes for ice cream. When the navigation system took us to a rather desolate parking lot, I got nervous--but the long line around the building was a glimmer of hope. One better? The drive thru. We didn't even have to get out of the car and join the long line (however considering it was our first time and their expansive menu, we could've used the extra time). At Bruster's it's definitely quantity over quality. This is not the $5 scoop of artisan ice cream from the likes of Salt and Straw--no, it's a mountain of ice cream. And who complains about ice cream mountain? No one. No one dislikes ice cream mountain. Usually, my boyfriend has an insatiable appetite--add ice cream to the mix and there's no such thing as too much. However for the first time in a 3 year relationship, the towering 6'4 athlete did something I've never seen: he saved some of his regular sized Oreo peanut butter waffle cone creation--FOR LATER. I couldn't believe the size of the thing, and was moderately jealous until my Reese's Pieces blast arrived. They are not skimpy on the toppings whatsoever, and the ice cream tastes fresh, and super creamy. All very good. Pros: Drive thru Large quantities Generous with toppings or mix-ins Lots of room to park and enjoy your ice cream Multiple rainy day deals, etc. Cons: Pretty average ice cream It's in the middle of no where.

There is seriously nothing more awesome than a spontaneous ice cream trip only to be asked by the nice server if you would also like a doggie scoop. I think I said "YES" faster than she could even finish what a doggie scoop was! For us humans, we tried their salted caramel (not overly sweet- so good), butter pecan (large pieces of pecans- awesome), and graham cracker station (nothing like it anywhere else- great),.... Kudos! We'll be back!!!

We have loved Brusters Ice Cream, particularly the Butter Pecan, for ages, but the last two times we went we noticed that the ice cream had a significantly higher air content and that the Butter Pecan had almost no pecans. We were hoping it was a fluke but when we tried again, the quality remained very disappointing. I'd rather the prices were raised than have the recipe adjusted to make it more profitable.

Yummy, yummy. This homemade ice cream is delicious and reasonably priced. Before I found Brusters, I was spending a lot more for Cold Stone. If you like all the mixins then Cold Stone or similar is definitely the place for you. However, if you don't need all the mixins and want deliciius ice cream go to Brusters. Also, they give you a free cup of doggie ice cream with dog treats if you ask. This is a 100% iutside venue for customers and I bring my dog with me regularly.

Good ice cream and great service. The teenager that took our order was as bubbly as could be, and quick too. My hot fudge sundae was larger than I expected and I had a tough time finishing it but I'm no quitter! JV enjoyed his vanilla turtle sundae too. It was around $10 for both our sundaes. The drive thru is certainly convenient during a DMV summer!

Glad this place is a little bit of hike away from my house. I work from my home office and this would be far to tempting if it was closer. I have been twice and have gotten milkshakes both times, both fantastic. I may need to run some errands in that area soon. I don't know if there are more locations, but would think if they opened a location is a more densely populated suburban neighborhood, the lines would need those signs you see at amusement parks; "Your wait from this point is 30 minutes."

It's no Häagen Daaz, but it's pretty damn good. It's less expensive than Häagen Daaz, which is also nice. The plus side to Brusters is that their flavors change and they're always rep'n a new flavor or two per month as a showcase. I can't get of Thursdays' since it's half off Banana Splits if you bring your own banana. The and what makes it sweeter is that you don't even have to have them make it a banana split, rather you can have any toppings in there you want, even excluding the banana. I wish everyday was a Thursday.

Terrific ice cream, friendly service, and they even have a drive-up window. It's worth the drive to the remote suburban location. 5 stars - they'll even give you free tastes of different flavors before you make a final decision - just don't block other people who are ready to order.

Drive-thru service is always fast and friendly. Can't decide what you want? Take your time, they won't rush you...but the car behind you might! With so many flavors on the menu (it changes daily, but they have standard ones as well), I've tried the birthday cake, chocolate chip, nutella, oreo, and vanilla. I really enjoyed the chocolate chip and oreo...the vanilla ice cream had just the right amount of chocolate flakes and (huge!) oreo pieces, respectively. Loved the nutella, which was a special one day. I thought the birthday cake was okay. Way too many rainbow sprinkles and the blue frosting was a little too heavy that I couldn't really taste the cake batter ice cream. None of the flavors I tried were too sweet, which is great. I'm looking forward to try their banana nut bread and toasted almond flavors. If you're up for the extra calories, get your scoop(s) in a waffle cone. They are baked fresh in the store, have the right amount of crunch and vanilla flavor. Love the little plastic, white tray cone-shaped thing that it comes in. Prevents drips from the end of the cone and the little trough saves your melted ice cream from hitting your clothes! A single scoop is more than enough. If you have dogs, don't forget to ask for a doggie sundae for them. They are free and both my dogs devour them!

Bruster's ice cream is the best!! My favorite is the graham central station! Considering the quality of their ice cream, you will think it's gonna be expensive. Surprisingly, it's not:) The servers are always very friendly and helpful. They are open until 11 pm!! I love going here to satisfy my late night cravings;)

Came to Bruster's after a visit to Classic Bakery. Yes, completely (un)necessary sugar high, self-induced. But the place was jumpin' with business & we decided to check it out. Being the leech that I am (already full from RiverSide Hot Pot & Classic Bakery delicacies) I opted to spoon from my friends' selections, Salted Caramel & Raspberry Chocolate Truffle. Both were good, but out of the 2, RCT was my favorite. I'm just not a salty gal. The SC flavor is something that I wouldn't enjoy a lot of. Speaking of 'a lot', that's exactly what the portion sizes are! The one scoop is more than enough to satisfy any ice cream craving. Also, my 'regular' sized Diet Coke is a large IMO. All the ice creams are made in house. Impressive! Pro Tip: come to Bruster's any day that it's raining or snowing & your second scoop is free! They even have a drive-thru!

So ever since my last review, I was craving some Bruster's again so I went with my mom. I wanted to try a new flavor so I chose the flavor, Graham Central Station, based on the recommendations of another reviewer. It was DELICIOUS. Instead of the usual waffle cone, I went with a "small" sugar cone because it was my first time trying it. I might as well have ordered a waffle. The nice girl who took my order piled it so high, the ice cream fell on the floor from its weight as she was coming to the window (Btw service is casual and friendly as usual. When I went up, I was greeted with a smile and humor the entire time). Of course the girl gave me a new one and piled the ice cream even higher. The ice cream itself was sweet but there were treasures of saltiness and crunchiness from the large pieces of the graham in the ice cream as well as thin pieces of chocolate. My mom, of course, bought the butter pecan and to our surprise, it wasn't as salty anymore. Although our last visit was at least a month or two ago, I like to think the owner or manager took my previous review in mind and made it less salty. My mom said she likes it much better now. Based on my experience today, I'd say don't be afraid to try out other favors because they're sure to be good, at worst.

Three and a half stars. Stand-alone building has walk-up windows, drive-thru window, a few benches and a table outside for customers. The kids working were nice. The flavors I tried were creamy and not too sweet. Nutella wasn't quite as good as the real deal, and pumpkin was lighter than expected. A small sugar cone was still a generous scoop that they were happy to provide a cup for. Enjoyed the heck out of my maple nut groove, but I would've loved to see pecans or walnuts used instead of peanuts. Wasn't a fan of chocolate peanut butter Buckeye or banana pudding, but the nutty coconut was okay. Coffee was strong in flavor. Future hit list: rum raisin, sea salt caramel, butter pecan, cookie dough, cinnamon bun, banana nut bread, chocolate raspberry truffle, black cherry chocolate chunk, pumpkin patch.

Soooooooo good. I don't even like ice cream that much, but I still think this place is awesome. I also don't understand how their ice cream tastes soOooo ridiculously fresh and creamy all the time (okay maybe the fact that there's always a line has something to do with it). Each time I've been there, the scooper-people have been super friendly about letting us try different flavors. Although warning: sometimes they don't have all the flavors they have posted on the menus/signs, so have a backup plan ready!! I only found this place 2 years ago (long after my kiddie years), but still everytime I go I get this nostalgic feeling of MAN THIS IS WHAT SUMMER AFTERNOONS IN THE SUBURBS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE.

Simply amazing. I came here with my friends late on a cold, windy night around 11PM. We stumbled upon this place to satisfy our cold cravings. No regrets, just a cold tongue and frozen ears. The ice cream was amazing and cheap! Come here when you see it!

Picture an 8 year old being patiently listened to as she describes the type of ice cream she wants and the wait staff smiling and delivering exactly what she wants even if she couldn't say it. Add on the fact that the ice cream is home made, melts quickly (no preservatives) and tastes wonderful. And furthermore, I have difficulty getting in and out of my car, so the drive-thru window is most appreciated. As spring time heats up, this place is rarely not crowded. The owner hires enough staff to make your wait quite reasonable. Samples are available. The sizes are very generous. 4 adults could easily have change from $20 even with ordering something more special than a simple cone. The waffle cones are light, sweet and crunchy. There are some benches and table/chairs outside. And a Drive-Thru window.

We love Bruster's taste, but the past two times we went there the ice cream was already melting and dripping when they handed it to us. It made a mess and the kids wouldn't even eat it because it was soup by the time we sat down to eat it. They need to keep the ice cream colder. Until then, we will settle on grocery store ice cream that you actually have time to enjoy before it drips all over your pants.

Favorite ice-cream place... EVER. At first glance, you might wonder what's so great about it... but then you try it and you fall in love. I always get the small waffle cone, but don't let the label fool you; it's huge! I went with the boyfriend several times, before we went with my parents. My mom was like, "duh, of course I'm getting that super-extra-large one--it's cheaper!" despite my insistence that she should just get a small... so I ordered first, and my mom immediately changed her mind. If you are not sure what you want to get because there are so many flavors you want to try, you can get as many samples as you want. I love their white raspberry truffle, but it hasn't been on the menu since the second time I went. Bring it back!

How had I never been here before?! As much as I try to avoid dairy in my daily life, I cannot resist a good ice cream, particularly in the summer. Prices here are right (my "small" was not all that small and only cost about $3.30), the employees were friendly, good choice of flavors. Other than flavors listed on the board, there was a sign posted on the window with three special flavors. Once I saw 'Death By Chocolate' I could see no other options. And this definitely the correct choice! Very rich, very creamy, very chocolatey. I liked that the ice cream wasn't super frozen or too hard...in it's slightly melt-y state it just tastes creamier and more delicious. I will definitely be back!!!

I love the ice cream but the customer REALLY REALLY sucks. I was there 10 minutes ago, was given the wrong ice cream, called the store and Jessica asks me to drive 15 minutes back to the store to have it exchanged "because someone else might need the ice cream I was given??!?!?. I mean WTF. At no time I heard "Oh sorry we gave you the wrong order". She never apologized and the fact that she wanted to (after a long day of work, inconvenience me even more ( I have 2 kids under five) by driving again to the store and never offered a solution or a simple "sorry" to me is bad business practice. I was not looking for a refund, I just wanted them to know and be a bit more careful. I will not be returning to that store!

Every time we visit my sister in Gaithersburg from Wisconsin its a requirement to pay Brusters a visit. They have incredible ice-cream all year round with equally consistent service. Although we visit with several finicky kids and adults-who-act-like-kids, we have never been disappointed. My favorite ice-cream there - Mango. I grew up in India and the mango ice cream at Brusters beats what I used to eat back there!

I love brusters. I come here all the time when I am craving ice cream. I think it is neat that they have cold treats for dogs and even have a drive through. My favorite flavor is mint chocolate chip and I always get nutty coconut for my mom, who absolutely loves it!

The ice cream at this location is great along with the service. We visited for the first time on a rainy day which gave us a free scoop of ice cream, if you bring your own banana it is half off banana split sundaes, and kids under 40 inches get a fee ice cream cone. There are so many deals that allow you to enjoy more of the amazing ice cream they offer.

I try not to give out five stars too freely but there's really no reason to not give Bruster's five stars. The ice cream is great. Although when we went recently they were having an issue with it being a bit too soft and were putting it in a cup for everyone. The staff are always friendly and enthusiastic. Then they have those special promotions all the time. ie free additional scoop if it's raining or snowing. Free treat for the dog. Free small cone for kids under a certain height with a regular purchase, etc. As mentioned in the previous review, the seating is kind of limited. And last time we went, there was originally one line with one window open. We were next in line when they opened a couple more windows. After we got our ice cream, I turned around to see a couple of families behind me and more people lined up at the other additional window open. But the people who were originally right behind me in the first line fell behind of all these other people somehow. In other words all those other people must have rushed in front of them of the open windows. That's more on the customers but maybe Brusters can do something in keeping the line organized.

I like Bruster's Ice Cream ever since I first had it in Georgia. The day of my visit here the server warned me that the flavor I wanted, Raspberry Chocolate, was pretty soft, so I choose something else. I don't know how soft my first choice really was, but I considered my second choice to be pretty soft when I received it. Is there a reason why Bruster's ice cream can't be frozen hard when it is served? Otherwise this a favorite of mine. The prices are reasonable and the service is generally pretty good.

This is the best ice cream I have ever had. The ice cream is so creamy and flavorful. They have a drive thru for those who are on the go. They also have a outside walk up counter and tables outside to sit. I always go here when in the area!

I'll preface this by saying I am used to Coldstone ice cream. This place isn't bad. It's a nice atmosphere. It's outdoor and crowded and encourages a nice family atmosphere. Customer service is excellent. The employees are extremely friendly. The ice cream was good. It lacked a little bit of flavor but I imagine that has more to do with me being used to ice cream that isn't as natural. In spite of this, I want to give them a good rating because the service was on point. That's always a plus.

This place is quite popular and my first time there was delicious. I'm not sure what they mean by "real" ice cream, it's good, but includes sucrose and corn syrup like the rest. It's a great treat, but not necessarily "real" whatever they mean by that. How can one go wrong really with ice cream though! Just enjoy the treat, lots of toppings and a cherry on top! When there's good weather, you may find a long line outside, try the drive thru!

  • Lauren H.

With the ever changing flavors, the ice cream here can be hit or miss. During one visit I had their White Russian ice cream. I still dream about it! Sadly, it was a limited flavor and I haven't seen it during subsequent visits. I've also tried their salted caramel. It was so salty I threw it away after a few bites. I tried choking it down because truly-- who in their right mind throws away ice cream!?-- but it was that bad. The lines move pretty quickly, even on the most crowded days.

I love going to Bruster's when I want authentic and out-of-the ordinary flavors! My only problem that I have when I go there is that I had to ask for a SPOON!!!! I'm really supposed to eat a pint of cold ice cream with my hands? #NoBueno

Bruster's Real Ice Cream certainly lives up to it's claim; it's "real ice cream" indeed! You can tell as soon as you sink into it: it's fresh and fabulous tasting, and is made with quality ingredients. My absolute favorite flavor there is "Cake Batter," which has a wonderful satisfying salty-sweet flavor. It's just the right balance of salty and sweet. It tastes like part vanilla cake, part vanilla icing. In other words, it's what vanilla ice cream would taste like if you'd added a little salt and boosted it into warp speed. :) I've tasted a lot of other places' versions of this flavor, and I can say without any hesitation that Bruster's is the best I've ever had (or at least the best, thus far). The others don't even come close. I've also sampled my mate's Black Raspberry, which is also excellent, and I'm not normally even a fan of this flavor. He also likes their Mint Chocolate Chip. (I'm not a fan of that flavor, so I'll just take his word for it. ;) ) The only flavor I've sampled thus far that I really didn't like was the Sea Salt Caramel, which is one of their newest flavors. Normally, I really like salty-sweet combos, but this flavor was just WAY too salty. The saltiness completely overpowered the sweetness, which, when it comes to ice cream, isn't easy to do. ;) After a while, all I could taste was salt, which was actually quite unpleasant. Despite that one hiccup, their ice cream is excellent as a whole. They also have a drive thru, which is great when you just want to take your ice cream to go and avoid the long, crowded lines at the regular walk-up entrance, which can be especially long on weekend nights in the summertime. The place is fairly small, so there isn't much space to stand around and enjoy your cones. Also, when we go here it's usually right after dinner. So, we usually just want to get home and relax. Plus, the drive thru is pretty quick. So, for all of these reasons, the drive-thru is our preferred option. I'd unequivocally recommend this place to anyone who loves ice cream. Bruster's is the real deal. In a nutshell, this place totally rocks. :)

  • Tim D.

There are so many flavors it can be daunting when you first look at the menu but the young lady helping us let us try several flavors plus you can get two flavors in a small. And, considering the price of $3.30 that is a pretty good deal. The ice cream does melt faster than "usual" but it tastes good and is home made. I actually prefer firmer ice cream so this will not be my first choice for ice cream except when I'm looking for certain flavors. Many people will also find the drive-thru window convenient.

Thanks to our local yelpers, our family checked this place out last summer. My personal fave is nutty coconut, hubby's and kids' is cherry vanilla (real vanilla mixed with preserved cherries). Free baby cone for lil kids (with reg. purchase) decked out in sprinkles that resembles clown face with hair. Now that it's warmer out, the ice-cream melts by the time they scoop it and serve it. You end up eating a melted mess if you don't inhale it fast enough. We're a party of 5 so we fill up our sweet rewards card fairly quickly with weekly visits. We're there recently 6/9/13 and the girl only gave us 1 stamp for purchasing 4 different treats. Somehow within a week, they changed their policy of giving just 1 stamp per visit instead of 1 stamp per treat purchased? not cool for regulars like us! Booo...sweet rewards card not so sweet anymore.

hadgh hopes for the place; was slightly disappointed with the outcome. - mint choco chip was ordinary, if a bit artificial (the formula did bring some nostalgia). - Graham Central Station (which I didn't try), but according to the person who had it, she was expecting more Graham flavor, not sugar cookie. - strawberry sorbet tasted more like watermelon (also artificial), but alright. - my mango was rather disappointing, with zero mango flavor, artificial or not. only saving grace is that the base wasn't too sweet or too rich, so I still enjoyed it as AN ice cream. just not mango ic. - the quart of banana ic we brought back (which I didn't try) was reported as good, but at this point, it probably won't change much for me. to be fair, service exceeded expectation. called before heading over to check if they carry non-dairy products (no info on website); sounded busy over there but person answering the phone was still very professional and informative. then, the young lady at the serving window was very pleasant and polite to us. when we asked for an extra empty bowl to hold the scoops that were falling off my cousin's cone, she happily obliged, added with a spoon without being asked (appreciate the good thinking skill!). unfortunately, she overcharged us for an extra cone we didn't order - I sincerely believe it's a mistake, oh well. hub didn't check the receipt given to him either... typical men. not sure if the products alone--at $3.3 for a small cone-- would ensure an intentional return trip. but if passing by, wouldn't mind testing out other flavors, given so many that they offer. did i mention they have a drive-thru? now that's just crazy! lol p.s. just to be clear, I don't hate this place. I like any ice cream parlor just like the next, and I wouldn't hesitate to give another go any other day - unless service is downright horrible, which is NOT the case here. also, thanks Robert F. for your suggestions and feedback. wish you all the best in your business, as I can see this is truly a local favorite!

WARNING! Do not go to this establishment if you are an addictive personality type because this is an instant addiction! I have driven by Brusters for years and never tried it. "I'm not really an ice cream person" is what I would say. I work walking distance from the store and one day 2 coworkers and I walked there. Now every Friday is "ice cream Friday". The highlight of my week, easily! The flavors are all delicious. The staff are all fresh faced young people who are polite and patient as us older folk stare at the flavor list and sample over and over. I also appreciate the holders for the waffle cones that I call cone condoms. They catch drips from the top and bottom. Fave flavors are Nutty Coconut, Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye and Butter Brickell when available. They keep the ice cream at the perfect temperature so it's not hard and not too melted. The drive thru is genius! After working out at the gym I can drive thru still sweaty and get my fix. You will come back again and again. Consider yourself warned.

I really can't think of anything negative to say about Brewsters. They've been excellent every time I've been there. The ice cream is great, and any place that has apple dumplings (even if they're seasonal) wins bonus points in my book. Drive-through ice cream is a brilliant idea, and they're open late enough for way-after-dinner snacks on the weekends. The location is a little odd, but they have plenty of parking and it's on the way home if we're headed from Gaithersburg to Germantown. I really have to give them credit for the doggie sundae as well: brusters.com/storefun/do… Our french bulldog loves them, and they've never had a problem making him up one to go if we were on the way home. I know he'd give them 5 stars if he could.

Why are there so many FroYo places and so few "home/local" made ice cream parlors here in MD? We found this place in Gaithersburg and were not disappointed. I can't tell whether it is their own home grown ice cream or not, but they have some cool promos to make this a fun place to grab a treat. Kids under 40"get a free mini ice cream, rainy day specials, and a banana split treat that hits the wallet just right. The kid in the window was polite and the scoops correct in size (drats?!) - I usually order the kiddie and get a "bit extra", but not here - good training? The only downside is limited outdoor seating, but who wants to sit when you are downing ice cream?

Gotta love it when a local business sends you a freebee coupon to drum up business! This is located in the middle of a parking lot of a long dead shopping center just past Costco in Gaithersburg. Long ago, it was known as Hechinger Station. For all you newbies, Hechinger was the dominant do it yourselfer chain until 1999, when Home Depot came in and mowed them down. The problem? horrible customer service will doom ANY business...... The rest of the shopping center is populated by a few mundane stores and a pho place which I will probably try someday. Anyhoo, there were a lot of people getting their ice cream today which was hot and humid. There was a drive thru! Short and to the point: Jason got his cup of vanilla ice cream with sprinkles, and we were on our way in 2 minutes...... He was happy and said it was the best ice cream he has ever had in his 6 yrs that he has graced our lives. Good work Brusters!

I'm not sure if my review counts since I got my first taste of their ice cream at a local "festival". I had the Oreo in a waffle cone. The lady who checked us out was so pleasant even telling us about their process. I can't wait to visit their store and get more ice cream.

Old time style ice cream shop. Loads of flavors posted, more on their website. If you see a flavor on their website that isn't posted on the sign when you walk up just ask, oftentimes they have more flavors available than are posted. You can always find coupons to this place in those coupon mailers or the Gazette. Try the graham central station.

I love homemade ice-cream. The banana and strawberry icecreams were very good. Not change my life good, but 'even though it's raining, I don't care' good. If it's raining or snowing, then you get a free scoop.

This location is randomly pitted in the middle of a parking lot where Baby Depot sits off of 355. But it's about a 5-10 minute drive from my house....depending on what you consider speeding. Wish I could give this place an extra star because I LOVE this place...actually my whole family loves this place. We started coming here in the spring of 2009 when I was preggars and the one thing I craved was ice cream. And now that I bring him he gets a free kids cone as long as he stays under 40". This place is great for having a drive thru for, which I find moves faster than standing in line. The drive thru is great if you're a closet ice cream eater fanatic who chooses to get a pint instead of a usual two scoop sundae (GUILTY!!!) Brusters needs to add more tables and benches to sit at since it does get packed during the summer months. They have over a dozen flavors and depending on the time of year they have seasonal flavors like pumpkin pie and chocolate peppermint. I have only two flavors that I prefer and both are a back up for each other. Never have I been here that both flavors are out but now that I come to think of it...maybe I should come up with a Plan C for if or when that time comes. Anyways my fave flaves are Graham Central Station (1st pick) and Coffee Oreo (2nd pick.) Graham Central Station IMO is the most underrated ice cream flavor. It's a swirl of graham ice cream with flakes of dark chocolate and graham crackers. The Coffee Oreo is delish too I'm not sure why I never thought of pairing the two together like mint ice cream and oreos but I tried it because my first pick was out so I ended up choosing this. Did you know that when it is raining or snowing, Bruster's gives a scond scoop of ice cream for free? That's right, if it's raining or snowing you get the second scoop on your cup or cone free!!!! I think that is awesome!!! Happy hour's aren't just happening on Thirsty Thursday's anymore...Banana Thursday's have taken over too! Bring your own banana on Thursday's and you get half off your banana split! BOO YA!

Woah! An ice cream stand with a DRIVE THROUGH?!?!?! That's also less then 10 minutes from my house?!? I sense that my fatty butt is just about to get fattier. I'm actually not a huge ice cream fan. I'm really not even a dessert fan. But my husband is...and since we've finally gotten around to visiting this place (for the longest time, we both thought it was a Rita's-clone...which neither one of us likes)...we've been here *CONSTANTLY*. Like...for a two weeks straight. Every night after dinner. It's kinda embarassing in a total "OMG, I'm a fatty don't judge me" kind of way. But you know what? I don't care. The service is a little slow - but it could be because there is an insanely huge line out the front and around the back at the drive through. But I love that they offer their ice cream in pints - so when I'm feeling *particularly" fatty, I can just send my husband out for ice cream while I sit at home and watch "Hoarders". Heh. I'm pathetic and I love it. Seriously - this place rocks. To me, the ice cream is a touch too sweet, but my husband insists that they aren't...that I'm just a mutant and an alien and a communist. Heh. P.S. The portions are huuuuuuge. I ordered a "small" and it was the size of my bunny. Seriously.

It's a little on the pricey side. The scoops are huge so I wasn't expecting three big scoops for a small. The chocolate ice cream tasted funny in my boyfriends banana split though. But the best part was that they gave my puppy a free sundae! I think it was a scoop of vanilla with a couple dog biscuits. Too cute!

Worst customer service ever ! The owner is racist and rude. I went to purchase an ice cream cake . I have purchased pre made ice cream cakes from two different Brusters in Georgia before but this was my first time going to this particular location . I wanted a custom cake and the young lady who was helping me was polite . However , when I began to ask about the possibility of of getting strawberries in the cake the owner came out of the back and started antagonizing me, yelling at me and staring me down like he wanted to pick a fight . I explained to him this was my first time ordering a custom cake and I was just asking questions because I was not sure of the process. He continued to speak to me in a condescending manner at which point I told him to just forget the order because he was being so rude. I will never go back to this Brusters. This guy needs to take a note from some of the other franchisees in Georgia. Maybe he would get more business because usually when I pass by the parking lot it is empty. If you want to be treated with respect do not go here .

5 Stars due to excitement! We just moved into the area right behind Bruster's, and you'd have to know that we used to live right down the road from a great Ice Cream joint up in CT. So having moved here for a couple years (down in SS) prior to coming up here and gone without, we were excited to have an ice cream place so near by. This is mostly cos our dog loves to go, and if the dog is going to twist our arms into getting ice cream she doens't have to twist too hard. I find Bruster's ice cream to be really tasty and there's a solid variety of flavors. They do a free puppy cone, and run all sorts of weird promotions (bring your own banana Thursdays ?! haha). The puppy cone is tiny and my dog chomps it down in 3 bites, so we usually get her a small one. The prices are good so we don't mind buying her one. It's a fun place. Lots of space, but most of it is paved so there's not a lot of seating options. We usually just sit on my truck or in the grass if it's nice outside. The crowds can get pretty big, but the lines move pretty fast I think.

Years ago, I tried Brusters and was unimpressed but now they have completely changed my mind and I don't plan on getting a scoop of ice cream from anywhere but HERE! I received a coupon for a free cone which initially enticed me to make a visit there. I tried the Birthday Cake flavor and it is out of this world! Days later, I was craving the Birthday Cake and had to come back. I accidentally ordered the cake batter which was not what I wanted and the girl taking my order had no problem exchanging the cone even though the mistake was clearly not her fault. Instead, I tried the key lime which was delicious and full of huge graham chunks. I love this place! Overall great customer service, huge portions, inexpensive and they have coupons, and quality products. My only complain is that the girl taking my order didn't mention their punch card and I had to ask about it. Not a big deal though because I did notice a sign saying that they have "scoopers in training" so she was probably new.

This is my family's favorite ice-cream spot! The atmosphere is great to enjoy a treat with the family. We go out there, stand-in line, order our waffle cones, sit on the bench and eat and relax and talk. The homemade ice-cream is so delicious and plentiful, and so may flavors to chose from. The waffle cones come with a heaping scoop of ice-cream. And when it is raining or snowing, you get a second scoop for free. Also, there are always coupons for Bruster's in the Clipper Magazine and the Valpak. Little kids under 40 inches tall gets a baby ice-cream cone decorated with sprinkles and a happy face for FREE. Dogs are welcomed too! I KNOW this will be a place that when my kids grow up, will fondly remember about their childhood.

They have ice cream. It is good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The parking lot is desolate and the baby store is creepy.

Awesome ice cream! Graham central station is the way to go. My only complaint is the lack of seating, but I don't think there is anything they can do about it really.

I LOVE ice cream and enjoy the homemade touch that Brusters adds. I like having a variety of ice creams to choose from and Brusters definitely gives that. Along with a variety of ice creams, they give samples if you are unsure of what you want. While I enjoy all Brusters, I appreciate how much this Brusters is involved with the community. They make appearances at community events, as well as host blood drives. Lastly, the fact that this location is open year round puts a smile on my face :-)

I love brusters! They have so many flavors and the ice cream is the perfect consistency; not too hard, not too soft. They are also cheaper than cold stone and maggie moos. The staff here are really nice and they always give you coupons when you visit. My favorite flavors are birthday cake and pumpkin pie ripple(seasonal), Yummy!

This is a little off the mark for a review, but yes, love that there is a variety of flavors, the ice cream is yum (grand-daughter loves the Dino Sundae) but even more important, we had a medical emergency there recently. The staff is young (to me!), but they sure handled things with the aplomb of seasoned veterans. They offered to call 911, brought water, were so sweet and helpful. Really appreciate the staff as well as the ice cream!

Nestled in a little run down looking parking lot is Bruster's. I came here with my family to grab some ice cream after dinner. The servers were great and friendly. They welcomed coupons and they were well organized.

I was sure there was no good ice cream store to be found in Montgomery County, and then I found Brusters. I've never been disappointed with a flavor choice, and the quality and price of their treats is perfect, you get a lot for not that much. Plus, my dog loves the free sundaes they give to their dog customers. Do yourself a favor, & visit Brusters ASAP.

I have never been disappointed with the quality of ice cream here. There is a flavor for everyone! Pistachios carried me through my pregnancy like a guardian angel :) The service however is a little unpredictable. I have been to this location multiple times and you can get anyone from being rude to the nicest person you've ever met. Just depends who you get. Sometimes service can be a bit slow too but I believe that is due to the volume of customers who seem to arrive in waves.

The ice cream is really good here. My favorite is the Banana split! you can substitute any flavors on the menu, and there are a lot of flavors to choose from. They have several sizes to suit anyone, children, adults, or CRAZY ICE CREAM CRAVINGS! The only reason i didn't give them 5 stars is because they need better management. They hire all high school kids, which is fine with proper supervision. Ive seen one employee standing at the fridge while our order was being prepared, going in and out with 1 spoon getting taste of different flavors then putting it straight from his mouth back into the ice cream...

Good GOOGamuga!!!! It's been a little bit since I've been. I totally had to lay off the addiction. The calories are very real, and if you're not careful, well... need I say more? This place makes fresh ice cream everyday, and have some great flavors. Not all the flavors are all that creative, but the flavors are fantastic!!! The ice cream here puts Cold Stone and Maggie Moo's to shame. Last summer one of the managers even gave my fam an impromptu tour of how they make ice cream and we sampled a ton of flavors; totally rocked. If you've never been, treat yourself. You won't regret it. A word of caution: Don't get two scoops if it's your first visit. The scoops are insanely huge. Go up to the window and tailgate or go through the drive through in inclement weather. When it's raining, you get a second scoop free.

If you liked Steve's Ice Cream of the old days then you're going to LOVE this place. Huge servings, creamy ice cream, and a down home kinda feel (even if the place is in the middle of some random parking lot). Unless you're starving, you probably won't want to order more than one scoop. The shakes are amazing too. This place is hella far from my home and oh-so-worth the drive! Don't pass up a chance to eat here!

My wife and I were looking for an ice cream place and found this little gem of a store through a random internet search. The cinnamon bun ice cream was incredible! Decent prices, lots of variety and great hours (11a-10p daily). I'm not sure if they close for the winter, but I'd imagine they do. So grab some delicious ice cream while the weather is still nice!

Absolutely the BEST Ice-cream I have ever had. Me and my husband have it every other day. My favorites are the Graham Central and Birthday Cake. They also give you coupons sometimes, which is great! Customer service is also excellent, they never skimp on the amounts. Love this place, highly recommend it!

Yum,Yum, Yum! I always when I go get the Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Ice Cream, in a waffle bowl, with a brownie and hot fudge. This is so good and chocolaty and rich that often I don't finish and if I come close it is followed with a food coma. But it is so worth it. They have a drive thru, super convenient. The only down side I see is when they are out of my flavor. Like a small child I possibly may pout and refuse to try another flavor, why mess with a good thing right? If you haven't tried it yet you should!

Still a favorite! Bruster's is where I learned to love pistachio and where I found that pistachio paired with coconut is even better. The flavors are always distinctive, unlike other places where every flavor tastes like the same ice cream. And yes, this is the rare Bruster's with a drive-thru.

Solid ice cream, though without the thick, sugary raspberry sauce for the white chocolate raspberry or what little marischino cherries can be dug out of the cherry vanilla, you're left with plain cream-flavored frozen dessert :-/

I almost forgot how good this place was!! Went here the moment it opened (maybe minutes before 11AM) and they took my order right then and there. The staff was friendly even though I may have changed my order 2 or 3 times... very patient and considerate folks. Anyway, delicious homemade ice cream!

We stopped at Bruster's yesterday. Not a bad little ice cream stand. Homemade ice cream! There is a drive through and a window you can walk up to. I sampled the grasshopper ice cream...and it was good...but I didn't care for the fudge in it. I split a brownie sundae with my husband. It was good...but not the best. The brownie was a little dried out. The ice cream was yummy though! :)

I called the store recently to have an event catered for my company. The person who picked up the phone was extremely rude to me and was very confrontational. He actually said these exact words "don't be coy with me". That comment was very far out. After our very brief chat he slammed the phone in my ear. I couldn't imagine that asking about having an event catered would illicit such a response. I was not only shocked but awestruck. This didn't appear to be a case of a "bad day", when you yell at someone and proceed to slam a phone as violently as possible it sends a clear message. Although I do not care for the ice cream my co-workers do and perhaps one day I will again try to use Brewsters for our many events. the other manager that I dealt with seems to be a kindly gentleman and that is much appreciated.

GREAT ice cream and a little bit of nostalgia towards the old walk-up windows! You really can't ask for much more than a selection of 2 dozen flavors and a smooth, sweet, and creamy consitency! Worth the drive if you're looking for a quality cone!

5 words say it all. key lime pie ice cream! i first discovered this flavor while in lancaster, pa. it's tart but sweet with graham cracker crust mixed in it! it was so great in fact that my boyfriend and i drove 45 min from dc to gaithersburg (hey, it was the closest location to dc!) to get some ice cream. we also noted that you get a free scoop when it's raining or snowing at time of purchase!

    (4)

Oh and you get a free second scoop if it's raining outside!

caramel explosion with twix is SO YUMMY. esp. love the coupons that they send out in mailers and free kid cones, doggie treats and free second scoops if raining or snowing! i don't feel ripped off when buying this ice cream like i do at coldstone. only wish they had some indoor seating. love to eat ice cream year round, but it sure is chilly out! actually, it would be nice if they had more seating in general. in the summer, it can get really busy. there is a TON of parking lot space. it'd be nice if they could turn some of it into more seating or something.
