My friends and I love this place. It is homey, and we know what to expect when we order - simple food cooked right. I enjoy the atmosphere here, as the service staff is always friendly. Our favorites in include Moons Over My Hammy, the T-bone steak dinner, the Prime Rib sandwich, Super Bird, the skillet dinners, and you can't go wrong with a one of their slams. We love that Denny's is open all of the time, too. We patronize the place on a regular basis, and hope they never close at this location. Try the chocolate milkshake. They use chocolate ice cream, instead of adding chocolate syrup to vanilla ice cream.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise @ $8.99! I ordered the double cheeseburger w/ fries, thinking that it was going to be your "standard double burger." When my order arrived, I was shocked at the size of it--it was huge (see attached pix)! I was regretting getting a double because a single was more than enough. I was now committed to chowing down this monster double. The burger was excellent; very flavorful, served with fresh toppings and two slices of cheese. This bar none, has to be the best burger value in Frederick! The steak fries were plentiful, cooked pto perfection, and served hot. Seriously, I rate this burger up there w/ 5-guys in terms of flavor; however, it was much larger and less expensive. My total bill came to $11.64 (incl. tax) for the double, fries, and a coke. In conclusion, I couldn't finish it.

This isn't the sort of review I like to write. And, if it weren't for what I feel constitutes totally unacceptable business practices, I wouldn't bother writing about it now. On Saturday night, August 29, 2015, my guest and I stopped in at this location for a late-night meal. It was 11:30 p.m., and we had just returned from Baltimore where we watched the Washington Redskins beat the Baltimore Ravens in a preseason exhibition game. We had eaten at this same location a week earlier, and the service was fine and the food was pretty good. So, it came as a huge disappointment when -- after having been seated and waiting for 45 minutes for someone to take our order -- we finally got up and left the place. In all that time, we never were served so much as a glass of water. And we weren't alone in this experience. A couple sitting at a nearby table asked us how long we had been sitting there and if anyone had taken our order yet. When we told them about our experience, they said they were experiencing the same thing. Interestingly, two waitresses were wandering around the area where we were seated; they just didn't seem at all interested in asking us or the other couple sitting at the nearby table if we wanted to order anything. Absolutely incredible! Clearly, the management of this particular Denny's was missing in action that evening. It is my earnest desire that a district manager or some other person in a supervisory role at Denny's will see this review and take the necessary steps to correct the situation at this particular Denny's location. If I were in a position to do so, I would terminate the entire crew on duty that night during the 45-minute period I and the other customers at the restaurant were treated with such insulting indifference.

Yuk... Place is packed....sure have no idea why! The server was overwhelmed with tables (not her fault ). Food looks nothing like the picture, grease filled thrown together and nasty. We didn't complain just ate some of it and left. They've revamped the menu but don't let that fool you. We've been here twice first and last.

A very disappointing trip to Denny's. Breakfast was good, but service severely lacking. The place also has a moldy mildew smell to it. I used the restroom when we arrived and noted there were no paper towels. I let the server know, but when we went to leave the towels were still empty.

Worst service ever! Took over 15 min to give a drink order, then the waitress screwed up the order, took it back, then another waitress tried to deliver the same wrong order. This is 45 minutes into our meal now....will rethink ever coming here again. Now I'm assuming whomever is the manager just came and apologized. The food is usually good, tonight may be no different...if I ever receive it.

So I know that its wrong of me to go to denny's and expect decent service.. But I do.. Ate here tonight and the service is about what u would expect. Food came out right after the app. Not sure if that is the kitchens fault since I dunno how long the app sat in the window. We had to ask again for stuff that we has asked for when ordering. My roomie ordered the BBQ bacon burger with no LTOP and for a bacon chedder burger with LTOP all on board. For those who don't know that's lettuce tomato onion pickles. Also had to ask for refills when the server just happened to decide to stop by. I think denny's is the new by word for bad service.

I desperately want to give this 5 stars, but I just can't. April is their best server by a million miles. I forget the others names, but the middle aged black woman is also really great and the (i think hispanic) ~30 year old also is good. The rest are sub-par at best. We have gone 15+ minutes without having our orders taken multiple times. We snag April as often as we can because we're there 2-3 times a week and she's rock solid every time. Food quality is almost always perfect. It's a server error 95% of the time if there is a mistake. They have no issues doing substitutes for orders and they are good about refills and things like that. However, they forget my dinner bread with my spicy cowboy chopped steak about half the time. I just remind them and it's no biggie though. I LOVE this Dennys, I just wish their servers could get it together.

It's a Denny's! The food is diner quality, and so is the staff. This isn't Volt or Dutches Daughters, but it's not Miccky D's or Checkers either. I probably eat here once a month, for the past twenty years. And this not usually by choice. Food is hit or miss, as with pretty much everything else at the Route 40 Deny's. I'm not so analytical to have done a case study to break down service and quality per night, per day of week or week of month, but it is definitely hit or miss. On a final note, I'm not sure what happens but somewhere the crowd goes from seniors to goth and back to seniors. I suspect they are all one in the same as you never see one group leave and another enter.

Eating is cheap, plentiful and good at Denny's Diner, where with the 2-4-6-8 menu, one can enjoy ayce pancakes for $4. With coffee, tax and a reasonable tip, I often walk out pleasantly full to stuffed for about $8 ! And this is a sit down restaurant with metal forks and knives! At Denny's, I'm in a time warp, and often greeted with "where would you wanna sit honey?" It could be 1973 in there, but that adds to the charm. I enjoy the ayce pancakes, and the whole wheat pancakes are particularly delicious. And they don't cost a penny more. FYI, I haven't tried lunch or dinner there, but their ice cream sundae for $3 was a bargain... Yes, it can be loud in there with the servers running about, and sometimes its so busy you need to get their attention...but what diner isn't? Pancakes come with small creamers full of hot syrup and the obligatory oversized dollop of butter. It's not health food, but it is consistent and great for when the mood strikes you for just that. The servers go out of their way to make you feel like a real guest. And that's what makes this restaurant so special. The oatmeal and eggs are good too, and the coffee is top notch. If you don't mind the simple diner decor and lack of pretense, you might make it one of your favorites too!

They have so many different dinner optiosn here, and I loved their 'Make your own burger' menu. They even had a veggie patty and you could choose amongst 20+ toppings...it was amazing! Great for vegetarians!

I tried to map this location thru Yelp and it took us to the wrong location. The address listed is correct but mapping to where is takes you is wrong. This feature should be checked so that it doesn't take any one to the wrong place again. Food was good once we got there.

First let me say, i have always wanted to go to Denny's just from the commercials. Well this pass Sunday me and my girl friend went there..at 9:30pm on a Sunday, you don't have many choices. To my surprise the place was dingy and dim. i order a grand slam sandwich which sounded weird but i thought what the heck..i will try that with the chocolate chip mini balls pancakes. we split an order of nachos... ok...talk about weird...the sandwich is weird and tasted weird...i ended up taking half home..and truly didn't like it until the day after. the pancakes were out of this world...just melted in your mouth... what got me was the waitress kept telling us she was going on break and gave us our check less than sitting down for five minutes...( i mean how did she know we wasn't going to order desert?) and came back in 2 minutes...she did at least 5 times! ugh... my girl friend said the coffee was horrible the restroom was filthy um...never again...what a bad experience however, i did like the mini pancakes....
