This place is great. I am fortunate enough to go with a bunch of friends and everything from most importantly the meat to the side to the sweet tea all tasted amazing. I personally loved the beef brisket and the BBQ chicken but the surprise is actually the chicken wings which are absolutely amazing. This place is certainly worth your time if you are in the area.

I'm going to get straight to the point: go here. Yes, you are surrounded by crab establishments, but it's good to mix things up. Must Eats: - the ribs with "swicy" sauce. Omg-good. - the yams side dish. Excellent use of Apple vinegar - the pulled pork in lump fashion. Delicious. The place is so unassuming that you don't mind getting a little messy. Quick, reliable service helps top off a good visit. Notes: chef Andrew Evans has a fantastic & inspirational story. Read the articles on the walls.

I lived in Texas for a few years and am super picky about BBQ places. Virtually all places I have visited in the DMV have been awful. This place was simply great! We got the St. Louis half rack. Tender, nice smoke, meaty, great rub, and wonderful sauce. I would suggest going "dry" then applying one of the five or so sauces they offer. I also got the wonderful slow smoked chicken wings. Very nice. Good sides: corn bread, fries, mac n cheese Ok sides: beans, collards My wife got the brisket. Really nice smoke, juicy and tender. We ate outside on a warm evening. The inside is small. Including outside, they might have 10 or 12 tables. Well worth the visit.

I've been dreaming about this place for a whole year. I try to come here everytime I visit the area. We found it by watching the owner battle Bobby Flay on food network and had to visit. My go to is the sweet pulled chicken sandwich. The sauce is so perfect and the chicken is juicy with a delicious potato bun cradling the goodies...okay this is starting to sound sexy but that's how I feel about this place. After a whole year of craving for this BBQ, eating it was even better than I remembered. Their sides are awesome! I haven't had anything I didn't like. Mac and cheese, cornbread, collard greens, and baked beans are all delicious. The baked beans are a hybrid between chili and salsa, it's a unique take on it. We even came here two days in a row since El Dorado was too busy to serve us. Another thing to note is that service is nice and quick. The second time we tried the Barbecue sampler. I was super excited to try the ribs and I wasn't disappointed. They were falling off the bone good. Another favorite was the brisket which had that melt in your mouth quality. I love this place and sets the bar high for all other BBQ places I try. I recommend this place to all meat lovers.

I am now a fan of The BBQ Joint! Dry rub 1/4 chicken and wings dishes were out of this world. The perfect balance of heat and sweet. Did not need any of the 6 sauces available at the table (although the vinegar made it even more amazing). Soda and water unlimited. Wait staff very friendly. Decor is mellow wood floors, seating and high ceilings. Out door seating, as well. Kitchen is open for all to see the smokers. Sauces, dry rubs and t-shirts for sale. Prices are moderate. Our only complaints were that the side of sweet potatoes were a tad too sweet and, more important, we could not buy the chicken dry rub because they ran out of it!

This little BBQ gem is located in the housing part of town. Literally has homes all around it. Not on the main hwy. like the big businesses. So expect to park on a neighborhood street. Now for the food. Good. I'm sure it was closer to epic when it was just made. Yes, the pulled pork was excellent & the chicken was as well. But the spare ribs & Brisket must have been heated up after being stored. This is the only explanation I can think of for how dry both were & how the meat on the ribs looked. STILL, better than most places serve. I'm thinking the best time to come here is when this place is "literarily cooking". Now, all the sides i ordered were great. Coleslaw, corn muffins, & collard greens). Now, I'm far from a expert on collard greens " not sure I'm even spelling it correctly" but easily the best I have ever had. Lastly the beer. They only had 2. Well, 2 that I would be willing to drink ( IPA guy here) but the 2 they had were excellent. Not too malty like most served in this region & a ice cold glass each time I ordered a bottle. ( Yes, none on tap here). So, support them ? Yes, great little restaurant find in Easton MD.

Very good BBQ. Great service. Friendly. They have a very nice sidewalk patio. We split the Jr T Rex platter between two of us. It was a great sample of all the different meats that they had. The brisket was phenomenal. The pulled pork was good also. All in all, not the best barbecue I've ever had, but certainly better than average. I highly recommend it.

We arrived here because we couldn't get a seat at Ava's in St. Michaels. We ordered the pulled pork sandwhich and the brisket with sides. The brisket was good but the pork was very dry. They were out of ribs unfortunately which is my favorite bbq item. The service was ok. The desert was great, we had the blueberry pie, which we took home because we were stuffed. The sauces were good, especially the "swicy". I'm not usually a fan of cole slaw but this place makes the best I've ever had.

  • Kevin O.

Great bbq. Had the brisket with collards and coleslaw.. I live in the south and was impressed with their sauces and flavor.. Good value ... Cozy little spot if I was back in the area again I would come here again ...

  • Abby S.

I've been here numerous times and the food is always good. The Jr. T-Rex is where it's at. Little bit of everything. The variety of sauces keeps things interesting. Staff is always super friendly. Coleslaw and cornbread are a must. The Mac could use a little help in the seasonings department but definitely not terrible. I love that I can wash my BBQ down with a good ole' PBR. If you are looking for quality BBQ, this is your place!

  • Stuart W.

For about $11 my wife and I each got a small sandwich and 2 sides, which we split between us. My brisket sandwich was excellent and my wife's Pulled Chicken was also good. The sides of fries, potato salad, mac n cheese and cornbread were all decent, with the potato salad being the standout. Well worth a visit, although the service could have been more attentive.

Glad we found this little place off the highway. Casual and good food . They also have outdoor seating.

Excellent. Nice smoke to all of the meat. Friendly cook and excellent waitstaff. 3rd time there and it gets better with every visit.

This was very disappointing after reading all the reviews. We ordered the Sampler Platter, and we ended up paying $18.95 for fat. The brisket was just the end pieces of fat with 5% meat. The pulled pork was EXTREMELY dry, the chicken thigh had little meat and the skin was greasy, the ribs were okay. I honestly expected better. Will Not Be Returning.

  • Oscar R.

Coming back from our trip in Ocean city we took a detour to grab a bite. All I can say is amazing service very friendly and relaxed people working. Outdoor seating is also an option. Our group of 5 order The T-Rex and it feeds 4-6 people deff worth the price and very well cooked.

We ordered the sampler platter and were not disappointed. The chicken and the ribs were particular standouts.

The BBQ was delicious. The restaurant is really clean and pretty. We had the sampler platter and it was amazing. Even the sides were great.

OK. You can't compare it to a fine dining restaurant, but against its competitors this place deserves 5 stars.. Found it based on Yelp reviews. Relatively small, but it is well appointed and the staff was very friendly and very efficient. The BBQ was delicious. We got a pulled pork sandwich and a chopped beef brisket sandwich. Both were outstanding. The staff heard us say we were first time visitors, so they included a couple of dry rubbed ribs, which were also excellent. We're from north Florida, so we have a lot of rib/BBQ places. THIS PLACE SHAMES THEM ALL.

  • Chris S.

BBQ can be hit or miss. I love BBQ but approach new BBQ experiences with a load of skepticism. This place scored way above my expectation, we got a variety platter and all of it kicked ass. On the meat side the brisket was especially yummy, for sides the yams were spectacular, the spicy sauce was over the top good. It was a black pepper heavy, but with strong oregano flavors. A little heat, but not a lot. I bought two bottles to go to serve with a pig I'm roasting next weekend. The BBQ Joint sets the BBQ bar high.

The best lunch I have ever had! Pulled pork melts in your mouth. Potato salad and greens are awesome. Not a bad thing here! Stopped on way home from the ocean. Will be back next time in the area. A must go to place!!!!! Staff is awesome also!

Best BBQ in town!!! The pulled pork, the beef brisket the corn bread and don't forget the beans please!! The brisket is some of the best I have ever had on my BBQ journey. Thank fully I can always get my fill when I need it. The Baked beans are a hearty bean that should be a meal in its self. I could go just for the beans. It is ridiculous how good they are. If you want BBQ, don't miss this place!!!

Did I like it? What do you think? Very tasty BBQ. My pulled chucked was tender, tasty, with no fat.

Tucked on a corner of a tree lined street. You can eat inside or outside. Pulled pork sandwich was fantastic. Many kinds of BBQ sauces to choose from. Service was quick. Fries are cooked to order. Food is very good. I'd eat here again absolutely.

With my wife and I having lived in Texas for many years, it's been difficult to find good BBQ up in the Northeast. While in town for a weekend getaway, we came across this place and had to give it a try for lunch. Boy were we so glad that we ended up stopping in as we truly enjoyed our BBQ lunch. It's not a big place and it was pretty busy when we arrived, but fortunately there was a couple of seats at the "bar" area. It turned out we sat down next to the owner's accountant and the owner was standing there chatting with them while they were eating. In addition to enjoying a tasty lunch, we also enjoyed our conversation with the owner and his accountant. Everyone was friendly and our waitress provided great service! Both my wife and I went with the small brisket sandwich, and the meat was lean (which we picked) and had a nice smokey flavor. There were three sauces to pick from---a sweet sauce, a hot and spicy sauce, and then a mix between those two. For my sides, I went with the mac-n-cheese and the BBQ beans while my wife went with the coleslaw and the BBQ beans. I liked the BBQ beans but my wife felt they needed a more BBQ flavor. Mac-n-cheese was good and my wife loved the coleslaw. I'm not a big fan of coleslaw in general, but I tried hers and must admit it was good. The owner also let us try the collard greens, and I have to admit that it wasn't too bad. I washed my meal down with their delicious sweet tea and we my wife and I shared a sweet potato cheesecake that was scrumptious. I tried to convince the owner that he needs to open up a location in Philly, but I don't think I had much luck in that. Oh well, guess we'll just have to make another trip to MD. We will definitely be back the next time we find ourselves in the area.

Sat outside for lunch at one of the half dozen sidewalk tables one sunny cool June day. Ordered a small pulled pork sandwich and fries. The sandwich came with a side of coleslaw small but adequate size-wise to dress the sandwich and was very tasty. The small sandwich was full of juicy pulled pork andplenty big enough for me! The condiment basket on the table held a variety of sauces, so you add your own and as much as you like. Good, hot fries which appeared to be hand cut. All in all a delicious lunch and very affordable as well! Visited the next time you're in Easton - you will be happy that you did. There is street parking.

A nice little joint in downtown Easton, I was pleased at how nice the people were here. They gave me a rundown on all the sauces they make (I tried the "swicy", their sweet and spicy blend - yum). I had a pulled pork sandwich - the meat was nicely smoked, a wee bit dry, but the sauce took care of that issue. The baked beans were exquisite, with two types of beans, onions and other goodies inside. The coleslaw was the only "average" thing I tasted this evening. I will certainly be back when I visit Easton!

Service was not so good, but pulled pork and ribs were pretty good for Maryland. Not a place to go in a hurry and seating is limited. Worth a stop if you are into BBQ.

Who eats a tri-meat tri-side BBQ meal the night before thanksgiving? THIS GIRL. Moderation, I bite my thumb at you. While we're at it, gimme yo brisket. Last night, as my father, brother and I battled Bay Bridge traffic on our way home, our conversation drifted to the most obvious and inevitable of all topics: food. My dad suggested a local BBQ place in Easton (our destination - my hometown), and the braja and I got committed once visions of brisket danced in our heads. We ordered pickup, and went with brisket, pulled pork, ribs, mac, cole slaw, tater salad, and corn bread. Wow. Much yum. All 3 meats were tender and flavorful (pork was my favorite), and the spicy sauce was absolutely awesome. Mac-n-cheese? Creamy cheddary happiness. Cole slaw had a bangin dressing (little tahini? little soy sauce? who knows...), and the potato salad was DIVINE (think fresh dill, perfectly tangy sauce, just enough garlic and onion flavor). And ya gotta get da cornbread: perfect savory-sweet complement to the meal.

Amazing smoked burger!!!!! Do it! Just do it. Awesome flavor. It'd be nice if they topping like mushrooms or bacon. Definitely need to go back for more.

Excellent BBQ! We had a pulled pork sandwich and sliced brisket on a roll. BBQ sauces are homemade and on the table and vary from hot to sweet. The sides of cole slaw, collard greens and baked beans were delicious. It was a beautiful day and there were tables outside. Our server was friendly and attentive. A memorable lunch. We topped it off with an ice cream dessert called the Muddy Mason. Vanilla ice cream topped with salted caramel sauce, candied pecans and toasted mini marshmallows. I've sampled a wide variety of BBQ in various states and this ranks among the best.

  • Jessica L.

We ordered the sampler. The only tasty things on the plate were the ribs. The pulled pork & the beef were so dry. The chicken looked way under cooked and was a little slimy. The cole slaw was far too watery. The sides were so tiny. I would consider giving it another chance but no time soon.

Delish lunch right off the highway. We were transporting my dog halfway to my moms and decided to stop here. Cute place, great bbq, cute town to walk around afterward. Best part of the meal was sitting at a picnic table and having my pup with me. Bonus- the waitress brought out his own dog water bowl. Highly recommend.

Had never had smoked meatloaf. Wow. Great sauce, nice beans and greens on the side. Added some homemade corn bread with it (recommend - served with a plain roll). In @ 6pm and immediately served. Friendly and helpful waitstaff. Next up.... Hillbilly Pie, freshly made.

Great bbq! Homemade sides were also great!...Soooooo many times I've been to a bbq place and meats were super but sides would fall short...but not here...Everything was good..of course we got the sampler, and loved the Pork and brisket, waitress was super friendly, and recommended the beans they were good too! Corn bread was yummy...Will be back.

Yelpers do it again! Driving through the Eastern Shore my friend and I wanted to forego typical road food so made a very short detour to the BBQ Joint (recommended by fellow Yelpers) - and I'm glad we did! Very good BBQ - there's even 5 sauces on the table to choose from. My mac and cheese was a little gummy but good, and I really liked the coleslaw. There's sawdust on the floor for an atmospheric feel. Service was very good. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Had the platter with 3 slides. Our favorite were the ribs and brisket!! Sides were homemade, greens and beans were particularly good! Sad we didn't have room for dessert as they sound terrific!! Highly recommended and look forward to returning!!

Just passing through the area and wanted to try something that was not a chain. Great service. Good food. Nice atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone looking for southern barbecue. The server recommended the Muddy Mason for dessert and it was awesome.

Extraordinary in every respect. Pulled pork, brisket and chicken were all superb. Seven different homemade sauces--I recommend the "swicy." The collard greens were definitely the best I've ever had. Apple crumble dessert was to die for. Service was friendly and efficient for our table of seven. Good value. It was obvious that considerable thought and care went into the food and the overall dining experience--these folks are passionate about good barbecue. Bravo!

One of my favorite spots in the area. Kid friendly. Although, it's so tasty my husband and I often end up here on our monthly date night! A great indulgence is the BBQ nacho platter! I also love the chopped brisket sandwich with slaw and baked beans! My husband is a rib junkie and really enjoys them. We rarely get dessert, but the pies are also a good treat. The only reason for four stars is that they are often out of food because of unexpected demand.

Best BBQ in these parts. Having lived in Texas and TN I can say that you will not find better BBQ for 180 miles. The brisket is the way to go. Perfect smoke that needs no sauce. Good BBQ for all of you novices does not need any sauce at all, it is only there to help bring out the flavors in the meat not overwhelm them. Hill country in DC would be my next closest choice but those guys are Gang R-ping customers with their prices for above average food. I go to Hill Country only because I cant fly to Texas every time I crave beef ribs. Try Buzz and Ned's if your in Richmond.

This was a highly disappointing visit. My boyfriend and I stopped for lunch on our way to Ocean City. I picked here based on all the positive reviews. We sat down at an outside table and a server took out drink orders. It was another almost 10 minutes before another server came to take our food orders. I got the brisket sandwich with the corn bread and yams, and my boyfriend got the brisket cheesesteak. Our server told us she took a little but to get to us because the kitchen was backed up so we would've been waiting either way. While we waited for our food, we looked at our table and silverware. The table didn't look like it had been wiped down in a while with crumbs and sticky spots everywhere. The silverware wasn't very clean looking and the napkin that wrapped my boyfriends already had sauce on it. Then he looked more closely at his beer glass and there was lipstick stains on it from previous use. The servers that took our drink orders originally was bringing our food at this point and offered to bring him a new glass. Our food was okay. I enjoyed my sandwich and yams. The cheesesteak leaves something to be desired. The brisket was good but the nacho sauce tasted like it was right out of a can and the jalapeño slices were browned from age. I had hoped for a nice quick and local lunch but this made us feel like it wasn't worth our time stopping.

This place was a welcomed suprise to the cute and quaint town of Eaton, MD. Went during lunch and 4 girls shared 2 BBQ tasting samplers, which included: Pulled pork, sliced brisket, chicken (add $1 for white meat) and 2 st. louis cut spare ribs and your choice of three sides. The sides we got -Mac and cheese, baked beans, and potato salad were amazing. Each side was not your run of the mill BBQ whateverness, they were all really tasty. MC was actually cheesy and flavorful, baked beans were sweet and salty, and potato salad was quality. As for the meats, they were all really good! Ribs were dry rubbed and tasty to perfection. They also have a selection of really good sauces too. My favorite was the Spicy, which was a smoky, salty and sweet sauce. Yum.

Found this place on yelp and holy cow, literally and figuratively. We were passing through Easton during our move and can:t wait to go out of our way to go there again. We started with the beef brisket nachos, this only whetted our appetites for what was to come. The nachos, well they are nachos, but the brisket, oh for the love of all that is holy, the brisket. Flavorful, great texture, and tasted fantastic. I ordered the chicken, it is my true barometer to judge a BBQ joint. The chicken was moist, oozing with flavor. I opted for the dry rub so that I could try there several types of sauces that were on the table. So glad that is what I opted for as I was able to get a different meal with each bite. The corn bread muffins deserve their own paragraph, but I have run out of delicious adjectives. If the applesauce is not made there it tastes like it was. Tasted like home made applesauce with some apple cider and tons of spices. Husband got the short ribs and wanted to drive back the next day for lunch. I said *no* since it:s 90 minutes away, but as I write this I think I made a mistake.

I returned to the BBQ joint for a carry out order. When I arrived (at the time I was told the meal would be ready) it was not ready. I waited 10 minutes and an employee came to ring me up while I waited. The machine wouldn't accept my card. Or any card. It turns out the modem got wet when an employee washed the wall. It was the only form of payment I had. They said the meal would be free. Then said they wanted to write down my credit card information and put it in later. I said I'd rather not. So they asked me to come in the following day to pay. That next day an employee called me to say that the issue was resolved and I was free to come in anytime to pay it, and that they would give me a discount for all the trouble. I went to pay, and was given no discount. The food again, was ok. But not worth going out of the way for.

Good barbecue, side dishes and sauce just "meh". The pulled pork barbecue was really good. But it was served on the kind of hamburger roll you get at the grocery store. The cornbread was like you'd make from a mix, and the portion was tiny. The mac and cheese was standard and not very good. The barbecue sauce (I tried the spicy-sweet one) was apparently homemade - it was OK, but nothing special. The iced tea was OK - fortunately not sweetened. I'd go back for the barbecue -- but they need to up their game on the side dishes. And they really need to get a high-quality bun for their sandwiches - using standard grocery buns is pathetic.

Mediocre at best! Let's start off with the temperature it was stupid cold in there. I appreciate lower temperature inside when it's hot outside but not 60 degrees. My husband and I decided to go since it had so many reviews on here. We ordered BBQ sampler with 3 sides. Order came pretty fast but all was cold lukewarm at best. I don't know about you but I like my BBQ hot or edible warm, not cold. Also flavors weren't quite there, some meat was really dry and tough. Corn bread and beans were ok. Had the temperature been warm inside and hot on my plate my review would've been a little different. All and all probably wont go there again.

Acceptable. Once a great Thai place turned into an OK BBQ Joint. Pet peeves about this place: 1. Woodchips scattered on the floor make me feel like a hamster and makes the place feel dirty. 2. Owner is pompous and refers to himself as Chef in all publications and advertising. 3. BBQ can be really good here, but is not consistant. 4. Sides are really just average. 5. Price of a decent bottled beer here is way over what it should be.

Discovered when we first moved here and keep going back for more. And more. And MORE. Hubby loves the chicken wings. I'm a big fan of the pulled pork nachos and Mac n cheese. Yum. Even if I'm cooking dinner, I stop for sides. My only criticism is I want MORE. The menu isn't robust enough. I need more choices! Maybe because I have eaten there so often... :) Friendly staff too. Very important in my book! Offer curbside and I'm your best customer for life!!!

Very, very good barbecue. The kind that you wish DC had more of. This small shop really gives off a small town vibe and I mean that in a great way. Our waiter was courteous and prompt, taking and bringing our orders quickly. The restaurant is really clean too. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of mac 'n' cheese. The pork, cooked perfectly, tasted like something I've always dreamed of but have never quite gotten to eat. I drizzled it with their hot sauce which was actually not too spicy but full of flavor. The mac 'n' cheese also rocked my socks, with thick gooey cheese hanging off the little elbow pastas. It all tasted really good. Oh yeah, the sweet tea was a nice touch as well... I can definitely see why someone who grew up on the Eastern Shore might say Maryland is a Southern state. Best part? The price. Ran about $25 for three people. I'm definitely coming here again next time I go to Ocean City or Bethany Beach.

What you see is what you get at the BBQ Joint. I was driving through Easton and detoured over to this place to sample a few different menu items after hearing a lot about the BBQ Joint from a friend. I ordered the 2 meat platter with brisket and pulled pork. It came with my choice of two sides. I selected the collard greens and mac n cheese. I also placed an order of wings to give them a try. The brisket and collard greens were exceptional. Some of the best brisket I have ever tasted. Definitely the most tender I've ever had. The Mac n cheese was good. Nothing exceptional with it but nothing wrong with it by any means. Same goes for the wings. The pulled pork was below average. The pork didn't have any flavor to it, which was kind of disappointing. Very bland. Overall, they have good food. Like other posters have said..... good... not great (except for the brisket.) If I was in the mood for BBQ the next time I was in the area I would stop in again and order the brisket and collard greens and be perfectly happy.

Stopped in recently on a work trip and was pretty impressed overall. I have a high standard for BBQ, being from the south, and chef Andrew's definitely meets that standard. I tried the pork and brisket platter, both of which were excellent, especially the rub on the pork. The mac and cheese was also very good, but that's admittedly a hard thing to mess up. Why not 5 stars? Value. It was very good, but a modest portion of meat and 2 fairly small sides comes in at around $14-$16 if I remember correctly. I'm sure you're paying for location, downtown Easton seemed to be pretty pricey, but when I get barbecue I expect to leave FULL. All in all, definitely check it out.

The BBQ Joint offers good solid BBQ in a setting that is cozy and clean but decidedly not down-home country BBQ. In its new-construction, almost yuppy setting, it caters to the Easton tourist crowd more than a local crowd of long-time, demanding regulars. But it has genuinely delicious BBQ, offered with a variety of sauce options and delicious sides, and the occasional unusual item, like the sausage sampler. If the Joint is going to survive and attract most of us back, it should consider changing some things. For example, charging extra (50 cents EACH!) for mayo, horseradish, slaw, and a range of other toppings for the sandwich borders on insulting the patron who is looking for something different, or something typical. And the sides, while delicious, at $2.50 each, on top to a sandwich that runs $7 and up ... again, the Joint is testing our loyalty in an area where there is plenty of GREAT bbq and eats all around.

We have been to the BBQ Joint a handful of times and all have been good. Casual atmosphire, good food, decent service. Just had the slow smoked wings earlier tonight. Best wings in Easton. Fall off the bone tender, taste and texture was terrific.

This is how BBQ is supposed to be. Everything about this place is great from the wood chips all over the floor to the delicious meats and incredible BBQ sauces. I came here for the first time with my girlfriend, her sister and husband. They live in the area and brought us here for dinner. The restaurant is a small little place with about 8 or 10 table tops. I ordered the pulled pork and the brisket. The pulled pork was phenomenal, very tender and flavorful. The brisket was also delicious and I made a brisket slider with the roll that was provided. The BBQ sauces were all amazing! They had about five different sauces increasing in heat level. My favorite sauce was the Spicy sauce with a great combination of sweet and spicy and pepper flavor. The spicy sauce was a great compliment to both the pulled pork and brisket. We also ordered some tasty cornbread. Although small and in the middle of nowhere, this place could hold its own in any big city as the best BBQ joint in town. I'll be back for sure the next time I'm in the area!

Came in for my mom's birthday. Decided on the sampler platter for 4 which was perfect. You got to try a little bit of everything. The bbq was delicious and the sides were superb. Even though they were super busy they didn't try to rush us, which was nice. Definitely going back when I am visiting the eastern shore.

This place is fantastic! Highly recommend the sampler as it really lets you taste all the different meats. Plus bonus three sides. Potato salad and beans were phenomenal!

My husband makes amazing BBQ so I have become quite a BBQ Connoisseur and love trying new bbq places. The BBQ Joint is great. It is a small restaurant that is clean and really charming. The place was really busy but service was excellent. The food being served all looked amazing and it was hard to decide what to order. The menu has a variety of things- my husband decided to get the BBQ Tasting Sampler - everything was excellent- the pulled pork, brisket and ribs were all amazing. All of the sauces are fantastic. I had the ribs and they were tender and fell right off the bone. The corn bread and collard greens were tasty as well! It was a great meal that was really inexpensive and affordable. Also they serve beer and wine which is a big plus!

This was good. Much better than average. I think brisket is the thing to get, though the ribs were done well.

I stumbled across this place on my way to Cambridge. Typed in best BBQ Easton in the ol' google machine and bam, the BBQ Joint. The BBQ Joint is cozy, has sawdust on the floor and is very local. We had smoked sausage sampler, cheese fries, pulled pork sandwiches and some ribs. The sausage ran the spectrum of taste: zesty, spicy, hot and the horseradish mustard was excellent. I do wish the sausage casing snapped more. I got the potato salad and all I can say about it was that it was homemade but in that good way. Like the kind old lady from down the street that makes everything the right way homemade. The pulled pork sandwich was good and I applaud the use of the potato roll. They could have buttered and grilled the bun to give the sandwich more texture. The pork was smoked well and moist and sauced nicely. The ribs were tasty and smokey and pulled from the bone well. Yum. The fries were crisp and cheesy. Is it worth a drive from B'more or DC? Well No. But it is worth a drive if you are going to OC or are shopping at the outlets.

Worth the stop. Brisket was solid, pork was good but a little dry. Collards were some of the best I've had - a little spice and lots of flavor. Baked beans also were good.

This is hands down the best BBQ on Maryland's Eastern Shore, and rivals almost anywhere in the country. I may have my mail forwarded here. I've eaten BBQ in dozens of states with local "experts" from North Carolina to Tennessee to Texas and everywhere in between, but this place nails it all. We ordered the "T-Rex" platter plus an order of smoked wings, so we got to sample the ribs, brisket, pulled pork, whole chicken and the sides of collards, fries, apple sauce and slaw. They nailed everything. All of the meats were fall-off-the-bone without being dry, including the chicken breast. The wings were excellent, the ribs were moist and lean, and both the pulled pork and brisket were perfect. Sides were well seasoned, including the pork in the collards, a hint of onion in the slaw, and cinnamon in the apple sauce. Someone told me they had good salads but frankly I will never know. Table service, casual, friendly servers.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! My Hubby and I just split a meat sampler with BBQ chicken, pulled pork, brisket and ribs. This dish definitely satisfied the BBQ cravings I had been having lately! Also the sides were very tasty. The Mac & Cheese, collard greens and yams were all perfectly flavored. This place is definitely one of the better BBQ places I have been in a long time! Worth the drive from Rockville, MD!

Tremendous pork belly sandwhich. Great flavor and a great sized portion. My wife and I also shared a brisket sandwhich was also outstanding. The sides we had were really good and just the right amount for a lunch. We finished off the meal with a Muddy Mason that was excellent. We have already recommended it to other people. A great lunch!

Got off to a rocky start. The cook had prepared 90 pounds of bbq for a catering order, and the kitchen was trying to recover. A huge party was being seated outside, and it took a little while for us to get seated inside. Then, a long wait, as the staff was not sure what they had enough of (?) because someone had not smoked enough meat the night before. Though this was not ideal, the waiter was super friendly and these issues were clearly outside of his control. I'm glad we stayed! We all cleaned our plates. Mom, Dad, and Gf all ordered the 1/4 chicken + 1/4 ribs combo platter, which comes with 2 sides and a dinner roll. Mom and Dad shared theirs, with wet ribs, corn bread, and baked beans. Gf ordered dry ribs with collards and mac and cheese. I ordered all sides - dinner rolls, mac/cheese, baked beans, and cole slaw. They loved their meat; Gf particularly enjoyed the medium sauce - there is an assortment of sauces on every table. The corn bread is delish - nice and sweet. The dinner rolls are standard; my other sides were great - creamy mac/cheese, smoky/tomato-y perfectly-baked beans, and crunchy cole slaw with green and purple cabbage and carrots. I would go back for the same order, but would swap in corn bread instead of the rolls.

Really good BBQ. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was really yummy, and their local hormone-free meats make me happy. The collard greens were good with a little too much fat soaking in the bottom. The potato salad was top notch. The mac and cheese was uber cheesy, too cheesy for me. The slaw was yummy and the beef brisket nachos were great - they had a chipotle cream on them that were really unique. The saw dust on the floor was a little much. I'm strict with my 5 stars, and this was really close. I will come back whenever I head back to the beach. RECOMMENDED!

Okay, just finished dinner here about an hour ago... Cool place, good food, and friendly service. - Very modern design to the decoration. Wood chips on the floor. Looks like it's either brand new or recently remodeled. A pleasant place to be. - The food good. Very good. Obviously very fresh ingredients. I had the brisket sandwich which, although a bit small, was very delicious, I also tried some fried which were some of the best I'd had in a long time. Topped it off with the pan fried cookie and ice cream which, like the sandwich, could have been bigger. - Very friendly and helpful service. The waitresses were very sweet and warm. But... BUT... We sat at the counter which faces the tiny, yet open kitchen. Should have been cool. However, the cook looked like he was about to go postal. You ever see someone who is projecting high levels of stress and irritation and it seems like they could snap at any moment? Yeah, that was this guy. The other staff, including the aforementioned waitresses, were all walking on eggshells around him. I was seriously waiting for this guy to blow up. It was that tense. And although the food was good, our experience was nevertheless dominated by this stressful person. A real shame. I'd go back here for sure, but if I saw that same cook behind the counter, I'd try again some other time.

In general, I think these guys get 5 stars for bringing quality smoked bbq into the area and doing it right. My hubby and I both agree the brisket is better than the pork. We are kind of pork snobs so we are probably hard to please in that respect. Regardless, the sauces are good and the meat is nice & smokey, moist and very tasty. We haven't tried the ribs yet but they look fabulous as well and are next on our list to try. I will definitely say the smoked wings ~ ahhh the smoked wings~ they are, without a doubt, the very best thing you could ask for from this bbq joint. If you want tender, fall off the bone, delicious smoked chicken then check these out. They are smoked for obviously a long time with a sweet and spicy rub and served with ranch or blue cheese dressing that kind of melts all over the warm chicken when you dunk it and they are out of control good. I could eat basket after basket of these little delights... Also a great place to bring the kids!

We were here with the whole extended family (age71-age 4). We were all happy and stuffed. The pulled pork is excellent. I have had many BBQ that never really lived up to my dreams. But this place was pretty darn good. We ordered T-Rex. It was delicious and abundant. The ribs, brisket, chicken, all yummy. Our server Rio was fantastic. He was very attentive and friendly. We drove 2hrs to eat here and would do it again.

The BBQ Joint is a rarity among rib places...a spot where the sides outclass the meats. Not that the ribs, brisket, or pulled-pork are necessarily bad, they're just not outstanding. Now to be fair, we were there a bit late in the evening, and we may have hit the tail end of that day's smoking. The brisket was a tad dry, and the ribs were a little cool. The only standout was the pulled-pork which was delicious. But I digress... Let's talk about those sides! Potato salad that was so good the Frogette ate most of it before I could even get a bite. Her excuse being that she wasn't going to eat any of the beans anyway, which was all right with me because...what beans! I'm from Texas, and I don't know if these were really "Texas beans" (in the land West o' the Pecos, beans to us mean "chili beans"), but these were dee-ee-licous! And finally, near and dear to my heart, collard-greens--hot, mild, just the right hint of vinegar, and steeped in pork. Yum. Now ordinarily I would have given BBQ Joint 3 stars, but for the sides, the great atmosphere, and the guys behind the counter serving up the meat, who are BTW a blast to chat with, I'll add that extra star.

I really love the BBQ joint and I'm not even a huge BBQ lover. Any of you in DC that have tried Hill Country, now it's time to have some good BBQ. This place is so fun and the food is really delicious. The beef brisket is my favorite. The chicken is really good too. My husband loves their St. Louis Ribs (Wet). The sides are all great too. I recommend the collard greens and mac n' cheese. This place is a real treat!

Wow - had to do a lot of scrolling to write a review - but that's how good this place is. I drive down the 20mi from Stevensville at least once a month to enjoy this place. It's quite small, so arriving at lunchtime on a Saturday can be a challenge. Time your visit earlier or later and you should be OK. As to the food - excellent and tasty barbecue. 'nuff said. Except that the rings are terrific, too - although overpriced. And the slaw. Mmmmm. Check it out, you'll enjoy it.

I love BBQ... I said I LOVE BBQ!...., I don't want noth'n pulled or chop'd or sliced. I want PIG meat on a bone smoked and smothered in a sweet tangy spicy sauce that I can tear off with my canines. Did I tell ya I love BBQ? Well The BBQ Joint makes all my dreams come true. Why are you in Easton? I guess God love's the dumb.

We picked the perfect place to stop and eat on the way home from OC, MD. All the meat and some other menu items come from local farms and are all natural... big plus. The variety of homemade BBQ sauces are great. I'm a coleslaw snob and the BBQ Joint's slaw was was pretty good. I got the Redneck Nachos with beef brisket as my meal and that was DELISH. Really good, different, chipotle cream on them. Good one to share because the portion is big!

You smell the smoke in the air as soon as you enter and you know you're in the right place! This is real, slow-smoked bbq with home made sauces (4 of them) and rubs. They have beef brisket (my favorite), ribs, pulled pork and chicken (whole or 'picked'. Oh, and the chili, is my new favorite comfort food in town. It has so many flavors goin' on, it's like a party in your mouth! Best fries in Easton, bar none. The baked beans are in the same class as the chili. They have the usual sides (potato salad, slaw, mac n' cheese) and the home made desserts are great, too, but I usually don't have room. This is a carnivores place so don't bring your vegetarian friends. Even the beans and collard greens have meat in them (as they should!).

Went here with a friend who suggested it was really good about a month ago, and she was quite right. I had a pulled chicken sandwich with corn bread and mac and cheese, and man was it delicious. The portions were a little smaller than what I was thinking though, but it seems everything these days are bigger and better I guess. The only draw back I had was the wood chips on the floor. I know it's to go with the theme of a barn...but it kinda threw me off. The service was pretty good too, though our waiter seemed to come over too much, and right as we were walking up he had just walked out to start his smoke break...then saw us and ran back in. Must've been the only server that day...

Chef Evan's BBQ Joint is awesome. This is my favorite new stop-to-eat place when we drive to the beach; it's kid friendly and the ribs and pork sandwiches are moist and very tasty. BBQ sauces right on the table are a nice touch. Don't miss the chocolate cookie dessert in the cast iron pan.

A great find en route to the O-shun. A nice little shop with ultra friendly service. The chicken wings were plump and ridiculously tender, falling off the bone. The pulled pork was good. It did need a little extra sauce for texture and flavor, but the sauces available were varied and good. Corn bread was sweet and moist. Fries were crispy and seasoned just right. Bucket of Session beer was a pleasant surprise.

I will return and return again. My first time there and we got the sampler - it was all great. The brisket was amazing and I think I could have eaten a dozen more ribs. The ONLY reason I didn't give it all five stars was the place is small. They desperately need more room in there. It was a cold winter's day and it was packed in there at lunch time. I imagine during the summer when Easton is packed, this place is unapproachable. Great food Great service

I'm not a BBQ expert, but I do love a good pulled pork sandwich (and I'm not talking about NC vinegar-based sandwiches - I prefer Texas or Memphis style). I am also an Eastern Shore native, and am always underwhelmed at the amount of good, solid restaurants here. They are usually overpriced "seafood restaurants" that gear towards tourists, or are local joints that tend to lack cleanliness and good service. Well then - you can imagine my happiness after being introduced to the BBQ Joint by my sister and brother-in-law. Clean, quick, good service, and excellent bbq, all in the heart of Easton. Reasonably priced, too. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a cornbread side, and a hot dog with apple sauce for my 2 year old daughter, with a glass of freshly squeezed lemonade to drink. Our order came promptly, and I seasoned my sandwich with one of the many sauces. My daughter loved the casual kid-friendliness of the restaurant, and I loved that I didn't have feel awkward with a squirmy toddler. Skip the Chili's, Ruby Tuesday's, Chic-Fil-A, and Panera in Easton - head to the BBQ Joint. I'll definitely be back again. Bonus Tip: They also have a food truck at the Queenstown Outlets. At last, real food at the Outlets, and great food to boot!

Like the title explains, this is a bbq joint. And it's good; very good. There's great outdoor seating, and the atmosphere inside is excellent too. If you sit at the "bar", the chef is friendly and will often start a conversation. As for the food, the pulled chicken and pork are succulent and tender. The pork is as good as I've had anywhere. My opinion is that the brisket could use a little more moisture, but the flavor is good. I think that the vinegar-based sauce is spectacular - it's thin and runs through the meat. Sandwiches are served on perfect potato rolls. The sides for me are hit and miss; the fries and cole slaw are excellent - the beans and cornbread are ok for me. Overall, it's just a really good experience, and the bbq is craveable. Go there for an outstanding lunch; you'll leave full and happy.

(06/17/2010) Crazy good BBQ all the way over on the Eastern Shore. We came across this place by accident on the way to OC. It's a tiny little place, used to be a Thai/Aisan Fusion restaurant, and the decor still kind of echoes that (gold and purple bamboo brocade upholstered banquettes?!) in weird contrast to the pig shrines and sawdust on the floor. Of course, I had to have the sampller platter so that I cound try as many things as possible: pulled pork (juicy, not stringy); brisket (tender and fatty); St. Louis ribs (nice rub); chicken (smokey char, could use some seasoning); mac 'n' cheese (like a thick Velveeta, if you like that sort of thing); baked beans (peppery); potato salad (chunky with celery, onions, and vingarey). I liked the Eastern NC-style BBQ sauce, also 4 or 5 other house-made sauces of different styles and spice levels were also available. Wash it all down with a PBR from the can. Well worth a little detour off Rt. 50 if you are heading that way.

This is a hidden gem! I have past it a few times and finally decided to stop. I'm glad I did. The pulled pork is awesome nd the prices can't be beat; pulled pork sandwich (piled high), cole slaw and "ocean city" fries with a drink for $10. I am in Easton regularly for work, this will be a regular stop for me.

This place is BBQ HEAVEN!!! the service is fast and friendly!! The bbq is the most tender flavorful falloffthebone stuff I've ever had. If anything, YOU MUST TRY THE BRISKET!!!! The sauces are homemade with a peppery kick!! This is from here on out my favorite BBQ joint!!!! Just thinking about the food here makes me drool!!!

  • Sean M.

The BBQ Joint is definitely worth stopping at while in Easton. The sauces are all made in house and are all worth trying. Prices are moderate (this is Easton after all) and the portions are not the egregiously large portions typical of bbq chains and the like. Don't think you won't get enough food for a meal, but this might be an example of quality over quantity. Definitely recommended.

I usually don't say this...but The BBQ Joint has made me a fan of BBQ again!! I look forward to driving into Easton on my way to and from the beach to get some delicious, flavorful, tender BBQ. The "joint" itself is very quaint and the decor is very casual with indoor and outdoor seating...let me define casual: there are woodchips/sawdust on the floor of the restaurant. The menu is very simple and the wait staff is very friendly. I tried the pulled pork sandwich, which was phenomenal. The meat was juicy and SO tender...it was probably the most delicious pulled pork sandwich I've had in a while (my mouth is crying for more as I write this review!). The pork doesn't come w/ sauce...yet it manages to stay moist. MAGIC! There are about 5 varieties of BBQ sauces you can top your sandwiches/meat with -- all of which are delicious and I'm sure everyone can find that satisfies their palate and they even have Garlic Tabasco (what?!?!). My companions both had the brisket (they asked for the fatty part)...which was as tender as the pulled pork and was equally delicious. Their sides seem pretty legit -- I tried the collard greens and coleslaw and both were very yummy...and to top it all off, I got a sweet tea -- which wasn't ridiculously sweet yet very refreshing. Good place for a quick bite, esp. lunch!!

Good BBQ, good selection and nice service. I'd say it leans towards Texas-style or Kansas City style, definitely not North Carolina style. Needs more vinegar and mustard for that. You will smell like smoke for days after you leave this place. Pretty quick for lunch.

This is about the best barbecue I've ever had. While we used to make weekend jaunts out to Easton (from DC) for the art shows, music, or just a nice nature walk, now we go because we need a BBQ fix. We used to be straight pulled-pork mainliners, but lately the brisket and chicken has been blowing us away, too. The sides are also excellent--great greens, mac 'n cheese and cole slaw the way you like it. The last time there we stocked up on sauces and rubs (the spicy one and the sweet one, and who can live without a good Butt Rub for all your seasoning needs?), hoping to replicate the BBQ-Joint experience in our own home. But if want truly succulent smoke, you gotta go out to Andrew's. Have to add that the wait staff and chef crew are the best. Is it just us they treat like family or do they do that with everyone? All in all, a great dining experience and priced just right.

Stopped for lunch during a drive back from Ocean City. Very tasty. We recommend the swicy (sweet + spicy) BBQ sauce.

Yummy!! We got the BBQ sampler and it was all delicious. It came with BBQ chicken briscuit ribs and pulled pork. We had the baked beans and collared greens and fries. All were good.

I always order the rack of St. Louis cut spare ribs. I prefer dry over wet. Their spice is really special.

Stopped in on a Friday night with another couple. Good food, fun atmosphere, excellent waitress. Very enjoyable, casual evening. $5 for a can of cheap beer was the only negative.

The meat is a bit dry. Not the best bbq I have had. The side dishes are good but everything including the sauces seems too salty or too sweet.

Delicious!! Found on Yelp on the way to Assateague and will definitely keep this in mind for future trips. Straightforward BBQ in a perfectly cozy yet modern looking space... and damn good. Go now!

Best place to eat on the Eastern shore. The beef brisket is amazing, the sauces are second to none and the Texas baked beans should be sold in every grocery store in the country. Andrews Evans is a gifted chef and restauranteur.

Great bbq. Had the brisket with collards and coleslaw.. I live in the south and was impressed with their sauces and flavor.. Good value ... Cozy little spot if I was back in the area again I would come here again ...

  • Barbara S.

    (4)

Amazing food. Got the half rack of ribs with Mac n cheese and baked beans. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent and everything came out in a timely fashion. Would definitely recommend.
