Queen City Creamery & Deli Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Queen City Creamery is a local favorite. The first time I heard of it, my friend was dialing their number to find out their flavor-of-the-day. They make one from scratch every day and it changes each day and often they don't repeat flavors for a while. My personal faves have been the birthday cake and the Bailey's Irish Creme! Their milkshakes are super thick and good too.

We stopped at Queen City for both breakfast before our bike ride and after for a late lunch and ice cream. Both meals were good and even though they were busy, the food did not take too long. A nice place to stop at while biking on the GAP trail.

As a vegitarian was excited to walk in and see a sign calling out the veggie options. I was really looking forward to my "Treehugger" sandwich. **Grilled Portabella with peppers and onions with mozzarella** my sandwich arrived a good 5-7 mins after everyone else's meal and I was underwhelmed to say the least. The ss which was served with a snack sized bag of chips, pita was hard, the Bella was small and grease dripped everywhere when I picked it up to take my first bite! We are not local so probably will never try this again but wanted to warn those who may consider ordering it for themselves. Definately not worth the $9 price tag.

This cute locale place has an upstairs that can easily share as a private party room if you are looking for something like that. A group of us went here for lunch and the food was tasty and the service efficient. I was a bit surprised to learn that a place called the creamery only offers four flavors of ice cream and a sorbet. I would think that for an ice cream shop they would have at least ten flavors! Ces't la vie. Several of us had the manager's special, which was a half sandwich and a soup. The soup was a white bean chili which they promptly ran out of so that was a bit of a fail. To their defense I don't think that they were expecting a party of 14 to come through. The manager's special includes a free cone so we were all excited to cash in on our free cones after the meal. I think the fine print mentions that it is small or a kiddie come or something like that but when I say small think of something that you may see a figurine in a doll house eating. I have had Jello shots twice the size. It was fine for me as I am watching my figure you just need to manage your expectations with this one.

First time at the Queen City Creamery, and I must say this is a cool little place. On our visit we had the daily special Ice Cream which was a Salted Carmel with Cashew. The Ice Cream was delicious, and definitely the main attraction here. Homemade Ice Cream with really quality Ingredients. We also had a Carmel Latte from the coffee bar. They use Crimson Cup Coffee found in many areas of the Mid-Atlantic and Mid Western States, and roasted in Ohio. Overall this latte was middle of the road, but not to shabby for somewhere not specializing in coffee. The final little treat we sampled was a bowl of the Chicken Gumbo Soup, Not to bad but nothing to jump up and down about. Overall this is a pretty cool little place to stop in, and support. I will definitely be back for the Ice Cream as it's well worth the stop in itself. One warning if you use a Credit Card 4% will be added to your bill. If you don't see all the signs you might end up paying a little more than expected if credit is how you normally pay. Stick with debit or cash to save yourself the money. Enjoy!

Great Ice cream. Awesome staff. We had the special of the day which was amazing. We them went back later and got a root beer float and a turtle sundae. A little pricey but worth it. We have been in Cumberland for two days and stop here three times. It's amazing.

Probably my favorite breakfast/lunch stop in Cumberland. I go nearly every year when I'm in town for a music festival, and I've never been disappointed. The ice cream is the real reason to go, honestly. I've had several lovely egg sandwiches there, delicious sandwiches, and coffee beverages over the years. The price is reasonable, and the service is friendly and relatively quick, even when they are busy. I'll be back for sure!

  • Ron K.

Superb soft serve custard. The vanilla was rich and creamy. My wife had the special of the day, caramel frozen custard, which she says was thick and silky and not overly sweet.

  • Rodney L.

I enjoyed a nice breakfast here last Saturday am on my way to 7 Springs. The food was good and fresh. The service was warm and inviting. The Americano coffee was very tasty and served very hot as it should be. The deli meats and cheese were very nice and enjoyed by everyone during our ski weekend.

Ok time to be real. I see everyone giving this place 4 and 5 stars and talking about the amazing food. The sandwiches are terrible. There is an incredible meat selection but only 3 types of breads that are store bought? Why not bake on site? Also the ice cream, which was good, was also really overpriced. May not be the best selection for a quick lunch but it is the best in town so I guess that counts for something.

  • Rebecca B.

Excellent, homemade custard - and its hand-packed, not soft-serve... a rare find. Classic vanilla is excellent or try the flavor of the day. Just two blocks from the C&O Canal & Visitors Center (Western Maryland Railroad) - be sure to take the short walk for a yummy treat. Sandwiches, soups, salads, too. Great local place.

Arrived in town yesterday and looked up a deli here on Yelp. Good choice! Their sandwiches were wonderful! I had a tuna fish sandwich and my companion had a roast beef sandwich that they grilled at his request. Oh and the pickles were marvelous! Not every pickle is created equal you know! Then we went a step further and had sundaes. Oh wow, they were excellent as well. They have good ideas for special ice cream flavors every day. Unfortunately, we will be at home when they have Pineapple Upside Down Cake ice cream next week! Locals likely know about this place but if you happen to be anywhere close by, definitely make the effort!

  • Christina M.

This place gets a 3 for ice cream and service. The hot dogs are boring. The Reuben was not good, sauerkraut is flavorless, store bought wheat bread, and I couldn't even tell what the meat was besides the color, very tough, and bland.

    (3)
  • CW M.

Awesome frozen custard. They have daily specials and use only the best ingredients. I recommend using the flavor of the day calendar online or in the store. The Pistachio is great!

    (5)
  • Genevieve M.

Creamery fail. Waffle cones stale. When we told the fellow at scooping counter about this, his reaction was complete nonchalance. Raspberry cheesecake flavor of the day was outstanding, but to pay for a flaccid old waffle cone was very disappointing. There was a lovely awkward pause where we were left there holding the inedible shells as he was there across the counter neither apologizing nor caring. So we threw them in the trash and he went back to scooping. From the looks of it, there were about 8 more or so in the case. So maybe there will soon be a day with fresh waffle cones? Just hope you're not there before they freshen the supply.

Nothing to complain about, it was the last place, we ate before heading back on the road to gaithersburg, a lot of places in dc try to imitate little places like this, this was truly a cute Lil cafe deli, with wooden booths, old windows, hand made decorations around and on the window seals, a little dusty, but that's okay. They had a juke box and a juke box list of popular chosen songs, for the holiday a life size Santa clause stood tall in the dining area singing Christmas songs, the kids loved it. We ordered the tuna sandwich and hot chocolate and white. Chicken chili soup, it was tasty. The hot chocolate was tasty and filling. The sandwiches were like 5 dollars, and for every sand which you order I believe you get a free ice cream cone! If you order the soup like i did you should order the bowl because the cup is really small. The Hot chocolate is the best...you gotta get the hot chocolate! If you are ever in the area and hungry for a snack, stop by.

  • Lynette M.

Beautiful building, lousy parking, nice atmosphere, good ice cream, but we stopped ordering sandwiches the day we were served moldy bread.

    (2)
  • Tara B.

The custard is a perfect combination of soft and hard ice cream. Love trying the flavor of the day! I was in Cumberland for 2 weeks doing an away rotation during medical school and literally came here every day of my visit. Portions are generous, especially the blend-ins/milkshakes/malts.

  • Jen L.

This is a Tom's Run tradition! After our pasta dinner we generally walk around downtown Cumberland and end up at this place for ice cream. Custard style! I had their flavor of the day Peach. It was excellent! Very peachy and creamy. I don't think I have ever had a Peach flavored custard. I love these "Flavors of the day" . I need to come back for their Burgundy Cherry Flavor. One my favorites! A Cute little ice cream/coffee and deli shop. Definitely worth a stop in Cumberland.

  • Ty H.

It's a quaint, cute restaurant you only find in small downtown areas. A big city could not replicate this effectively. My wife had the pancakes and I had the breakfast sandwich croissant. Both were good. Not unbelievable...but not worth turning away. My wife had the coffee, which she thought was ok, and I had the hot chocolate, which was very tasty. I also had the cake batter custard. It good, but I probably would have chosen cold stone or marble slab if it was next door. All in all $22 plus tip. I wouldn't say it was the greatest breakfast in the world, but i feel like it was probably top in the area and had a cute atmosphere.

  • Daniel T.

Nice place to get out of the heat and enjoy a great scope of deli sous ice cream. We have been happy with everything we have ever ordered here, except for the PB&J (it comes with the biggest glob of jelly on the planet with a faint smear of peanut butter). Everything else here is wonderful.

    (4)
  • Jessica F.

Don't come here expecting 31 flavors. They have a feature flavor each day plus vanilla, chocolate and a sorbet. They were serving peanut butter the day we arrived and it was delicious. Along with their sweet treats, they have coffee and a deli. I had the soup and the cafe au lait. I liked the soup quite a bit and it eased my hunger. What was really awesome was that you could request samples on tiny, toddler sized cones. My daughter loved it and it was just enough for her.

    (4)
  • Greg B.

Tried their lunch today. My first impression was how expensive the prices were. I like to eat, so I was thinking that at these prices, the portions must be huge. For 3 sandwiches my bill was $31.03. When the food came out I was dumbfounded at best. Not the stuffed sandwich that I was in visioning at these prices. I do not recommend this place. **Update**- its now two hours after I posted my review, and both of my daughters are hungry again!! Thanks again for charging me $10 per sandwich that was an ordinary sandwich I could have made at home for a dollar each.

    (1)
  • Katie H.

A cute little creamery. The prices were on the more expensive side, but the ice cream was very good. My family ordered a shake, specialty sundaes, root beer floats, and a banana split. No complains from us!

  • Blue A.

We love to stop at this delightful eatery on our way from Home -West Virginia- or from our trips to east Coast! Great ice cream custards and sandwiches. Pleasant employees and fantastic window boxes decorating outside in warm weather .Easy to get to from hiway..

    (5)
  • Gerald H.

Some of the best custard style milkshakes and ice cream. The flavor of the day is also a great addition, but not every flavor of the day is GREAT. The deli is very good as well - Boar's Head meats come with a higher price tag, but you won't be disappointed!

    (4)
  • Rachel E.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed.....$8 for a turkey sandwich that has whole wheat bread you buy from the supermarket, 2 sliced tomatoes, and 2 slices of turkey. Such a shame because the place looked like it would be great from the outside....

    (1)
  • Jeff R.

Must say nice deli. The sandwich was made hearty, you don't leave hungry. Ok the best part- the ice cream is homemade and very very creamy. Quaint little deli

A real nice place in such a small town. Lover the atmosphere and options for food and ice creams. Their service was also nice. Perfect breakfast place for a passing through visitors. Don't forget to try their milkshakes !!!

  • Maggie W.

Absolutely delicious. We stopped here for a quick breakfast on our way home from WV, and I'm still mad that I didn't try the ice cream--they were making custard and it looked amazing. Breakfast was delicious, really affordable, and the service was great! I'm definitely heading back next time I'm in the area for a giant ice cream treat.

    (5)
  • Foodie A.

their custard puts the cream in ice cream - totally decadent and rich

How I ended up in this area on a business trip is too long a story to tell, but luckily Yelp steered me to Queen City--otherwise, Cumberland didn't seem like a big restaurant town. The food was serviceable. I had a grilled corned beef sandwich. I was there close to St. Paddy's day, and I had a hankering. I didn't find the people working there to be especially friendly, which surprised me for a small town. Really a three-star experience, but I love architecture, and I loved both the outside and the inside--the counter was truly old school.

  • Trudi B.

Delicious Frozen yogurt! You must try. And excellent coffee.

    (5)
  • Kathy K.

Everything is good from the coffees to the sandwiches & sides. The custards are rich & creamy. If you are in town it is a great place to stop. The staff are very pleasant.

  • Brenna M.

I was in town for business and saw the high rating it had on Yelp, so I decided to give it a try. The location is great. It's right in the heart of the old city, so if you are there to see downtown, the museums, the train or just the canal, it's a great location. I was there for lunch and had a club sandwich. The offer a bunch of different breads for the sandwiches, and I tried parmesan Italian. So good. Inside, it has a cute ice cream parlor feel with seating enough for a family. I wouldn't recommend a large group if you wanted to eat inside. After my food, I couldn't leave the creamery without trying the ice cream. I had a plain one-scoop, vanilla cone. It was creamy and delicious. They do charge a small credit card fee, but it didn't change my feelings at all about the place. I would definitely come here again. No complaints.

    (5)
  • Jessica L.

They make their own ice cream and when you get a meal it comes with a tasting cone! What a delightful place. It makes me feel like it's the 1950's and I'm grabbing an ice cream soda with a friend. The booths are really cute and they have a little ice cream bar where you can sit while they prepare your ice cream. Love the flavors here. They have such a variety of flavors and every day is a different flavor of the day. The food here is also pretty good but I come here for the ice cream mostly. This was by far my favorite place to frequent in Cumberland. Definitely worth the stop if you're passing through.

    (5)
  • Jai F.

Very good ice cream and floats. Sandwiches were not so bad either, but the staple seems to be the ice cream.

    (4)
  • Brad S.

This place is great! It's nothing fancy; it reminds me of an old diner. It has good sandwiches, soups and great ice cream. It's the perfect Saturday afternoon lunch spot. Remember to ask for the free mini ice cream cone that comes with your sandwich!

Ah-maz-ing. During a weekend at Rocky Gap Resort, we ventured out to Cumberland for some grub. With no options for food since Cumberland is a definite ghost town on a Sunday, this little gem did not disappoint. Cookies and Cream and Cookie Dough thrown together into one delicious, creamy and satisfying custard. Definitely make a stop here next time you're in the area--its delicious and has inspired me to do dessert before dinner more often.

We were here on a Sat. night around 8. We had never been here and was confused on how to order. Four people were working and no one greeted us when we walked in or offered to help. Finally someone did help us. They have 3 flavors of ice cream, chocolate, vanilla, and flavor of the day. The ice cream was good, but over all I wasn't impressed enough to return again.

    (3)
  • Whoy G.

Limited flavors, but what they have is delicious! My favorite...vanilli

    (4)
  • Ed B.

Like everyone else says, homemade ice cream, delicious and a good value. The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is the fact that I also had breakfast there. Breakfast was too expensive for slightly above mediocre.

Great ice cream? custard? Whichever delish! I got a milkshake second visit and also delish. If you are in Cumberland riding the Gap or C and O don't miss it.

Excellent chicken salad, and hash browns. Loved the adorable complimentary mini custard cone offered with the purchase of breakfast or lunch.. The staff was very kind and friendly.... even the cook came out to help us chose something from the menu.

This is an amazing place my fiancé and I stumbled upon while traveling thru town on I68. The butter pecan ice cream was the best I've ever had by a long shot! I want more plz?

While spending a few days at Rocky Gap, we headed here for dessert tonight on the recommendation of a friend. Thankfully while out at dinner, we checked the hours of operation . . . they closed at 8pm and it was 7:40pm . . . we made a mad dash for the car and made it with 8 minutes to spare! I'm an ice cream fanatic, so this place is up my alley! They don't have a bunch of choices of flavors, but they must of known I was coming because the flavor of the day was "Death by Chocolate"! Had two scoops in a waffle bowl and it was the perfect ending to the day! I'd love tocome back and have a full meal and dessert (again!) here. QUaint little place with ample seating and friendly staff. Very charming and lots of variety and choices in food and sundae options. I'm a fan for sure!

Amazing Ice Cream. We stopped off in Cumberland for gas on a trip from DC to Cincinnati, and were blown away. We are eagerly looking forward to the next time we drive through, and will certainly stop for a full meal there (and plenty more ice cream to go).

    (5)
  • Rachel P.

I was driving to Indianapolis and saw this on a highway sign around lunch and decided it was worth a try. I got the vegetarian pita plus pesto sauce and dill havarti. The ingredients they use on the sandwiches are great quality, and they use Boar's Head meats and cheeses which are always good. I love a good deli, and was happy to find this one. I also tried the chocolate custard. It was good, but I've had better. The milkshakes looked amazing and I would have liked to eat one.

  • Bubo O.

Pros Clean, little ice cream and sandwich shop where the owners have really made an effort to make the place look and feel friendly. I wish these people nothing but the best since its obvious that they want to please. My suggestion to them is that they get some professional training in food prep and restaurant management and apply it to their business. This could be a very lucrative location if it is not already. This place serves good simple food using good ingredients. Cons I can't really say anything bad about the place, I just see a lot more potential given that these people want to do a great job. Recommendation Clean, safe, friendly.........give it a try.

  • Zara B.

Looking for a real custard style ice cream is no easy task, but let me tell you this was it. I always appreciate when a place doesn't go over board with their varieties in flavors and therefore making it possible to have the freshest batches available. My vanilla was pure, smooth, and creamy, and an utter delight. These guys did however put milk in my ice coffee without asking, but I'll try not to hold it against them. Next time I'm traveling through, I will definitely bring everyone I know.

  • David B.

Best ice cream (sorry, frozen custard) I've had. Period. Queen City Creamery only has a few flavors of ice cream per day. This limited selection, however, isn't a bummer; it's awesome. It makes deciding easy, and the fact the flavors rotate daily meant that I got to try many flavors. I was disappointed with none of them, but the coconut was particularly awesome. When I took my first taste, I almost fell down from deliciousness. My wife's favorite is the vanilla (available every day, along with the chocolate), and it has won "best vanilla in the country" a few times, rightfully so. If you're going for a meal, as well, the sandwiches are legit. Good meat, good bread, good specials. Warning: their "real" mustard is strong, and the dude who made my sandwich had a heavy hand, so ask for it on the side unless you *love* mustard (I like mustard, but I'd have liked to taste the rest of my sandwich).

    (5)
  • Aaron D.

    - Good sandwiches - Cute atmosphere - Clean restrooms - Milkshakes that make you sit up and say "Yowzers!" (And I mean that in the best way possible.)

    (4)
  • David S.

The ice cream, sorbet, and peach crisp were magnificent.

    (5)
  • Christopher S.

Despite the Yelp description, they DO NOT serve frozen yogurt...this was an unwelcome discovery after I had driven all the way over there for yogurt after reading the Yelp description. The employee I spoke to didn't seem surprised to hear that Yelp described them as serving yogurt. If the description is wrong, CHANGE It! Even if I'm looking for something they actually serve, I won't be looking for it at Queen City Creamery and Deli.

  • Alan M.

I was told that this place was a "must visit" in the Cumberland area so I stopped in with my son when our travels took us out that way. I almost balked at the prospect of paying more than $5 for a chocolate malt but I took the plunge and I have to say it was GOOD!

    (4)
  • Julie R.

smooth, rich custard in a darling establishment with extremely kind and helpful staff. the custard: tried the butter brickle, vanilla, and chocolate covered cherry - we went two days in a row because we couldn't get enough! we also had sandwiches which we also great. cheese sandwich for me and grilled cheese for my husband. the custard and the atmosphere are pretty much all i ever would want from an ice cream establishment. they really hit the nail right on the head. this really is one of the gems of cumberland, and one of the top 3 reasons we had a great weekend in this charming little city!

    (5)
  • A. H.

I stopped in for some ice cream while in the area on a business trip. The ice cream was decent but nothing special, and parking was difficult to find. They lose a star for telling me they don't tame AMEX (my company card) unless it's a catering job. Stupid.

  • April V.

I don't get what everyone else is saying about this place. Maybe it's because I live around here, but the QCC is not the cute little ice cream parlor/deli the other 2 reviewers raved about. The best thing about it is actually the building itself; the exterior is beautiful, well-kept and usually lit up at night with white xmas lights...which is always a nice touch. The interior has a nice small coffee shop feel to it and is clean, bright, and modestly decorated. Now on to the food and such. There is nothing special about the ice cream in this place, despite it being a large part of their attraction. They only have a few flavors to choose from--vanilla, chocolate, and the flavor-of-the-day. None of which I have tried that have lived up to the hype. It's basically really rich, yet boring ice cream. The food is mediocre standard deli fare like wraps, lunch meat sandwiches, and chips. Not very flavorful sandwiches, either. And it's not a cheap place to grab a bite. You're probably looking at $11 or more if you get anything more than an ice cream cone. Believe me, that's too expensive for the quality and quantity of food you get. The best thing they have is actually their coffees, but if I want a good coffee, I'll take a little stroll to Mark's Daily Grind, which is only about a block or two away on the Cumberland Mall. Lastly, I have to mention the service. Most of the employees are obviously teenagers...of the more obnoxious variety. The older woman that works there often (maybe an owner or something) has a horrible attitude. She takes your order without even cracking a smile or saying anything at all. If you don't know what you want, don't bother asking for her advice...you'll get a scowl with rudeness on the side. Bottom line: Go there if you want to experience a nice atmosphere and have a coffee. If you want a good sandwich, go to Kramer's Deli (inside the historic Cumberland train station).

If you are passing through Cumberland, MD, eat here. Fresh, substantial sandwiches and soups all of which are creative and well-executed. And then get ice cream. Whether a sundae or straight dish the custard does not disappoint: creamy, smooth and just the right richness and heft. The coffee is excellent as well. Do yourself a favor, skip the truck stop fast food and eat here.

This was a fantastic find in Cumberland. Great lunch and friendly service, specifically the Ruben sandwich, root beer from the tap served in a frosty mug and a little mini cone of custard as a complimentary dessert! Will definitely go again next time in town. The custard is delicious!

  • Erin A.

Not sure what the good reviews are about. The gal who took my order wasn't very friendly and the food was so bad we sent it back and got a refund and left. $9 for a sandwich I could throw together at home with crappy grocery store ingredients.

Wonderful place for lunch! Great ice cream - check out the flavor of the day. Friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend.

Great little custard and deli place. Got a wrap which was fine which came with a little taste of custard. Go with an actual single or double dip since the included cone with the sandwiches is quite tiny. Overall good.

  • Brianne C.

Cute little deli and creamery shop in the heart of historic Cumberland. Quaint decor, friendly service, and dense, creamy soft serve ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, and a flavor of the day) served with heaps of toppings. Lightly sweet, perfectly browned, beautifully textured waffle cones are excellent. And, the price is right: you'll pay $3.71 for a generous single dip with mounds of cookie dough and peanut butter cups. Perfect for a nice evening stroll through the town's main streets.

  • John H.

If soup, sandwich, and especially ice cream are your gig then this is mmmmmwwwwwaaaaaahhhhh. In addition to the ubiquitous vanilla and chocolate there is a daily special flavor in both ice cream and sorbet. Servings are generous when it comes to the ice cream. Specialty cupcakes from a nearby (Keyser's Candlewyke Restaurant) establishment are available. The soup & sandwiches are fresh & tasty, although portions of soup and sandwich may not meet a big appetite. That's to save room for the desserts!

I learned of this via Yelp, because my daughter and I were driving from Baltimore/DC via Cumberland to Charleston, WV. We had lunch and excellent custard... we liked it so much that we returned for lunch and custard on our return trip several days later. Highly recommended!

Cute and pleasant little shop where one can get excellent ice cream and sandwiches. Went here with husband and daughter on the way to a funeral. I'd actually tried it out a few months back with a teacher group I travel with. Very nicely decorated. The ice cream (I think it's actually custard) is made on the premises and I remember the owner telling us that they did a study to determine the best brands of meat, cheese, etc. to use before they opened. The bar is authentic and was taken from an old store in Morgantown WV. I got a veggie wrap, which had the freshest veggies you can imagine. Husband just went crazy over the ice cream flavor of the day. Cumberland has really done a nice job with revitalization.

One of the best little places in Western Maryland! I love this place! Love the atmosphere, love the food, love the pricing, and it is easy to get to and to park. It is a great little place to sit and chat, meet folks, and enjoy the experience. It may not be the place that you take your girlfriend to and pop the question......unless your girlfriend is fun loving, likes ice cream, and is not snotty. Great Daily Special Ice Cream Flavors!!!!!!!

A reallly nice little ice cream shop and deli that came in a year or two ago. They have a rotating ice cream flavor-of-the-day, great vanilla and chocolate, and a host of traditional ice cream shop options. Haven't tried the sandwiches. The place has the feel of an old-time drugstore counter.

Beautiful building, lousy parking, nice atmosphere, good ice cream, but we stopped ordering sandwiches the day we were served moldy bread.

The custard is a perfect combination of soft and hard ice cream. Love trying the flavor of the day! I was in Cumberland for 2 weeks doing an away rotation during medical school and literally came here every day of my visit. Portions are generous, especially the blend-ins/milkshakes/malts.

Enjoy!

Everything is good from the coffees to the sandwiches & sides. The custards are rich & creamy. If you are in town it is a great place to stop. The staff are very pleasant.

Awesome frozen custard. They have daily specials and use only the best ingredients. I recommend using the flavor of the day calendar online or in the store. The Pistachio is great!

A cute little creamery. The prices were on the more expensive side, but the ice cream was very good. My family ordered a shake, specialty sundaes, root beer floats, and a banana split. No complains from us!

    (3)

Very good ice cream and floats. Sandwiches were not so bad either, but the staple seems to be the ice cream.

Nice place to get out of the heat and enjoy a great scope of deli sous ice cream. We have been happy with everything we have ever ordered here, except for the PB&J (it comes with the biggest glob of jelly on the planet with a faint smear of peanut butter). Everything else here is wonderful.

Amazing Ice Cream. We stopped off in Cumberland for gas on a trip from DC to Cincinnati, and were blown away. We are eagerly looking forward to the next time we drive through, and will certainly stop for a full meal there (and plenty more ice cream to go).

I was told that this place was a "must visit" in the Cumberland area so I stopped in with my son when our travels took us out that way. I almost balked at the prospect of paying more than $5 for a chocolate malt but I took the plunge and I have to say it was GOOD!

Not sure what the good reviews are about. The gal who took my order wasn't very friendly and the food was so bad we sent it back and got a refund and left. $9 for a sandwich I could throw together at home with crappy grocery store ingredients.

smooth, rich custard in a darling establishment with extremely kind and helpful staff. the custard: tried the butter brickle, vanilla, and chocolate covered cherry - we went two days in a row because we couldn't get enough! we also had sandwiches which we also great. cheese sandwich for me and grilled cheese for my husband. the custard and the atmosphere are pretty much all i ever would want from an ice cream establishment. they really hit the nail right on the head. this really is one of the gems of cumberland, and one of the top 3 reasons we had a great weekend in this charming little city!

I stopped in for some ice cream while in the area on a business trip. The ice cream was decent but nothing special, and parking was difficult to find. They lose a star for telling me they don't tame AMEX (my company card) unless it's a catering job. Stupid.

Great little custard and deli place. Got a wrap which was fine which came with a little taste of custard. Go with an actual single or double dip since the included cone with the sandwiches is quite tiny. Overall good.

Enjoy!

A cute little creamery. The prices were on the more expensive side, but the ice cream was very good. My family ordered a shake, specialty sundaes, root beer floats, and a banana split. No complains from us!

We love to stop at this delightful eatery on our way from Home -West Virginia- or from our trips to east Coast! Great ice cream custards and sandwiches. Pleasant employees and fantastic window boxes decorating outside in warm weather .Easy to get to from hiway..

Everything is good from the coffees to the sandwiches & sides. The custards are rich & creamy. If you are in town it is a great place to stop. The staff are very pleasant.

  • George P.

    (3)

    (1)

I'm definitely heading back next time I'm in the area for a giant ice cream treat.

their custard puts the cream in ice cream - totally decadent and rich

  • Jessica F.

Don't come here expecting 31 flavors. They have a feature flavor each day plus vanilla, chocolate and a sorbet. They were serving peanut butter the day we arrived and it was delicious. Along with their sweet treats, they have coffee and a deli. I had the soup and the cafe au lait. I liked the soup quite a bit and it eased my hunger. What was really awesome was that you could request samples on tiny, toddler sized cones. My daughter loved it and it was just enough for her.

    (4)
  • Jai F.

Very good ice cream and floats. Sandwiches were not so bad either, but the staple seems to be the ice cream.

    (4)

    (5)
  • Jamie W.

  • Brad S.

This place is great! It's nothing fancy; it reminds me of an old diner. It has good sandwiches, soups and great ice cream. It's the perfect Saturday afternoon lunch spot. Remember to ask for the free mini ice cream cone that comes with your sandwich!

  • Ashley W.

  • Tara B.

The custard is a perfect combination of soft and hard ice cream. Love trying the flavor of the day! I was in Cumberland for 2 weeks doing an away rotation during medical school and literally came here every day of my visit. Portions are generous, especially the blend-ins/milkshakes/malts.

Nice place to get out of the heat and enjoy a great scope of deli sous ice cream. We have been happy with everything we have ever ordered here, except for the PB&J (it comes with the biggest glob of jelly on the planet with a faint smear of peanut butter). Everything else here is wonderful.

Limited flavors, but what they have is delicious! My favorite...vanilli

Like everyone else says, homemade ice cream, delicious and a good value. The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is the fact that I also had breakfast there. Breakfast was too expensive for slightly above mediocre.

I stopped in for some ice cream while in the area on a business trip. The ice cream was decent but nothing special, and parking was difficult to find. They lose a star for telling me they don't tame AMEX (my company card) unless it's a catering job. Stupid.

    (3)
  • Ari R.

    (4)

  • Erin A.

Not sure what the good reviews are about. The gal who took my order wasn't very friendly and the food was so bad we sent it back and got a refund and left. $9 for a sandwich I could throw together at home with crappy grocery store ingredients.

I was told that this place was a "must visit" in the Cumberland area so I stopped in with my son when our travels took us out that way. I almost balked at the prospect of paying more than $5 for a chocolate malt but I took the plunge and I have to say it was GOOD!

smooth, rich custard in a darling establishment with extremely kind and helpful staff. the custard: tried the butter brickle, vanilla, and chocolate covered cherry - we went two days in a row because we couldn't get enough! we also had sandwiches which we also great. cheese sandwich for me and grilled cheese for my husband. the custard and the atmosphere are pretty much all i ever would want from an ice cream establishment. they really hit the nail right on the head. this really is one of the gems of cumberland, and one of the top 3 reasons we had a great weekend in this charming little city!
