My husband and I are ADDICTED to Squisitos. Honestly, we would eat here every day if it wouldn't make us immensely obese. Our favorite dishes are: -Garlic Knots (these are pretty buttery) -White Pizza -Margarita Pizza (the cheese and basil are SO good, and the crust is slightly crispy) -Shrimp & Scallops Primavera (any of their pasta dishes in the rose cream sauce are to die for) -Eggplant Parmesan Squisitos is hands down the best Italian joint in the Bowie/Crofton area.

We went in during a weeknight for a quick bite and were honestly a bit disappointed given the reviews. The service is walk up to the bar and order style, which was quick and effective, the staff was nice and the restaurant seemed clean and well taken care of. We ordered the anitpasto plate, which was more of a salad with toppings, but acceptable. The sandwiches we got came out quickly but were utterly forgettable, the cheesesteak and meatball sub respectively. If anything it just seemed like both lacked any form of seasoning or substance to them. The bread and fries were decent but not enough to make me come back for seconds on them. Perhaps the pizza and pasta dishes are better, but I'm not terribly inclined to go back and try.

Great pizza! I go to the Crofton and Annapolis stores. Both are equally good. A good back for sure.

Cute location in a strip mall. I really enjoyed the food here. Fast casual restaurant with a lot of options. I had the Mediterranean Salad that contained grilled veggie, feta cheese and spring mix. This is just what I was craving! I also got to try the calone and really liked the sauce and dough. The pizza also looked relish! Additionally this place is BYOB so bring some vino with you.

Pizza was loaded, and not in a good way, with toppings. The center was doughy and wet. When I picked up a slice it went limp and the toppings fell off. I also ordered the garlic knots - bad idea. They were soaked with oil and the entire paper plate they came on was so saturated it was transparent. I'll give them another try but next time I'll know how and what to order.

I actually built up a high anticipation for this place based on all the reviews. I ordered the seafood pasta with creamy tomato vodka sauce. I was saddened that my noodles were kinda soggy.... so although the shrimps and scallops were good, the pasta ruined it for me.... Maybe because it was the end of the day. I'll try again with another dish.

This place is better than maggianos. The food is fresh and flavorful. The prices is surprisingly low for the good quality of food. I'm going back soon to try some other dishes. You have a lot to choose from. I'm so happy we stumbled across this gem.

First and likely last visit...Garlic knots were extremely oily and stale or overcooked. All three fettuccine dishes were bland and had to be seasoned when we returned home. Seriously disappointed...kids too.

My sister discovered this place when she lived in Crofton. I haven't tried their pizza yet, but it looked good. My first dish was a simple Italian Cold Cut Sub. Quality meat and the perfect mixture of oil, vinegar and herbs . Every time I come back, it the same Italian Cold Cut. One of the better ones in the area.

My family and I have been eating here since they opened, and let me tell you the food has always been good. When I lived closer I often order the pepperoni calzone for carry out, they make it from scratch and it's awesome. Lately though since I turned 21, I come in and try their pasta dishes with my own bottle of wine, which they let you drink in house. I recommend the Chicken Parmesan, the Chicken Alfredo or the Shrimp Scampi in your choice of red or white sauce. Oh and the pizza is great too! Perfect for just grabbing a quick slice to-go. It's mostly young men working here and they're all very sweet and competent. Also, not sure if he's the owner or manager but the older man who runs the place always recognizes me and makes small talk, really nice guy. So check this place out if your in the Crofton-Bowie area, it's excellent.

Would have given 3 stars except when I called to place my order the young lady could barely speak English and it too a while to order a " pepperoni pizza ".... Anyway... The pizza had good flavor but the dough was so thin ,when you picked it up ,it flops over and all the cheese just runs off. I love a thin crunchy crust but should be able to pick it up and it holds up to itself instead of a big mushy mess. But it did taste very good ! 3 stars for the pizza !!

I was very surprised by the quality of the good at this restaurant. It appears to be a chain restaurant, however the pizza and salads that we had were very good. The prices are excellent as well. I had a couple of very generous slices, and my wife had an arrugala salad with chicken. The salad came covered in artichoke hearts and roasted red pepper. The restaurant is an order at the counter and they deliver to your table format. This is not fine dining, but great for lunch and a casual family dinner. A little hidden, but a good, high quality food at a good price.

  • Susan M.

Enjoyed the NY style cheese pizza - no complaints. Zero friendliness or ambiance at the restaurant so if I return, it will be for carry-out only. Mamma Roma in Odenton is still my favorite but this place will do when I don't feel like driving to the Big O.

The Chicken Parmesan was the worst I've ever tasted. The noodles were way over cooked and the marinara sauce tastes exactly like ketchup. I threw the noodles and sauce away and ate the chicken. It's pretty small and not very clean. I'll never come back here again.

Consistently the best, tastiest, and most flavorful Italian in the entire area!!!! Not to mention the friendly staff

LOVE Squisito's! The pizza is fabulous and the calzones are delicious, but the staff is even more amazing. Extremely friendly and courteous - this is the kind of place you just keep coming back to!

Squisito Pizza in Crofton is awesome! This is hands down my favorite place to get pizza and Italian food in the DC area. Food: The food is great. I love NY style pizza and the Margherita pizza here tastes like it came from heaven. It really does taste like a classic Margherita pizza from NYC. I drool over this pizza (no lie). The other entrees are delicious too and they offer huge portions which always makes me happy. Atmosphere: This location is BYOB so you can come in with your own bottle of wine and enjoy a fancy-feeling evening. You usually order up front and take a number to your table and a server brings your meal over. So in conclusion, this place is the best of both worlds. You get delicious food and nice service while wearing jeans and spending less than $20. Casual yet delicious.

Very good thin-crust NY Style pizza for the area. My husband and I grew up outside of NYC (him Newark and me Queens), so we are your typical hard to please pain the butt pizza critics who endlessly whine about missing pizza at home. That being said, we both really enjoy Squisito's pizza. On Mondays, they have a large cheese pizza for 8 (carry out). You can bet my fat bum that I order every Monday because its good, and because I'm lazy! ;) I also think the interior of the restaurant is nice. Many pictures of Italy, booths and tables with checkered table clothes, big drum pendants striped with pleasing colors. A nice atmosphere. It's stashed in the back of a shopping center, way behind Golds gym in Crofton. I highly recommend it. Especially because I love that they use real basil leaves in their sauce!

  • Dick B.

This place supposedly won the award for "best pizza" in Crofton/West County from What's Up magazine so I decided to give them a shot. Mistake! Pizza was "ok", I don't want to knock it too much. But it's not the best nor does it come close to authentic New York pizza. I was impressed at the selection of toppings compared to other places. However, the pizza was way too thin and very soggy.

    (2)
  • Tiff F.

It was ok, go to the Annapolis location if you can the food is MUCH better. The Crofton location gave me pizza that was cooked too long making the cheese a burnt yellow and it didn't taste very good. Never had issues in Annapolis and will drive the extra time to get better food from now on! Not to mention the staff is much more friendly in Annapolis too!

    (2)
  • Tommy B.

Service always great and friendly staff. My family comes here once a week for pizza and calamari. The marinara sauce that comes with the calamari is awesome. We always ask for an extra to dip the pizza crust in. If you love garlic you will love the sauce.

I love this place! Great pizza, pasta and subs. My favorites are the gnocchi Sorrentina and the cheesesteak.

    (5)
  • Levent T.

The pizza crust tastes frozen, the cheese is under-portioned and tastes of below average quality, the sausage they use to top it looks like dry gyros meat with out the flavor and so not worth the $5 for an individual pie they are charging. Also, the bread on the cheese steak sandwich was warm and fresh but the whole sandwich was lacking flavor. I had the "spicy" chipotle version and was asking myself "where's the beef and flavor?!?!" The service was attentive which is the only reason for the two stars.

The pizza is consistent at pretty much every squisito. I got a slice of white and a slice of pepperoni the other day. Both were consistent to their other locations I have tried. Writing this review because the guy behind the counter was very nice and gave me a large to go cup for water after they ran out of bottled water (I ordered two). I had just come from a workout and he offered without me having to ask. I always appreciate people noticing a need and filling it.

I know how good a Squisito can be and this spot is a place to just avoid. The one in Annapolis is amazing. Their food is always amazing no matter t time of day but this place Is awful. If you want some noodles with lemon juice throw on it with some meat then you have the right place. I actually had to add Ragu to mine so I can eat it. My grandmother couldn't eat her food at all. This is the second time we have gotten them that has been no good. The first time it was missing seasoning and we thought it was a one time mistake. Now there is not seasoning or sauce. We called and told them problem with the food and he just said we could get a discount for next time we got food there. Next time? There is not going to be a next time. I am not going to pay 30 bucks for them to give me cooked noodles. Next time I want some good Squisito's food I am going driving the extra distance and go to the Annapolis one because I know their food is always amazing.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
