Returned tonight for dinner. It was not real busy. Salad came out fast! My dinner entree of Baked Ziti didn't come out after 15 mins. I flagged the food runner down and he checked in the kitchen. "Your food will be right out". Got my food 10 mins later from an employee who remembered me from a prior bad experience in the bar about 2 months ago. This employee, always courteous, said there was no Problem in the kitchen and admitted my order had been forgotten. Asked for the GM, Gregg Repole who was not in tonight! REALLY!!! I was offered a free dessert but I really want this meal comped and it should be...the absent manager is the only one who can comp a meal and he's gone on a Friday night?? If it keeps running like this I give this place 60 days to survive! I won't be back!

I really liked Three Brothers. It's a very casual place. You walk up to front counter to order, and someone brings the food to your table. The prices are fairly reasonable though the large pizzas are definitely not cheap ($20 for a large Neapolitan pizza - enough to dissuade me). I ordered the Brooklyn Bomber sandwich ($8) and added fries and a drink ($3). The sandwich was excellent! It had plenty of sauce, meatballs, sausage, and cheese. The seasoning of the meats and the marinara sauce made it very flavorful. Surprisingly, this packed sandwich even managed to stay together while I ate it. It really wasn't that messy. The fries were not very good - they seemed like generic frozen fries from a grocery store. The fountain drinks are self-serve and unlimited. I enjoyed it here and am interested in trying some of their other menu items in the future.

Being a MD native (specifically PG County), I'm certainly no stranger to "Tres Hermanos", as my old high school crew endearing called the Beltway Plaza location, which we used to frequent every Friday after class. Because of those years of experience, I've had a chance to try just about everything on the menu. But there's really only one thing I keep coming back for, and that's their infamous white pizza. There's a million ways to make a white pizza, but in my honest opinion, nobody quite gets it right like 3 Brothers does. I like ricotta cheese just fine, but not on my white pizza. Call it a texture thing. 3 Bros offers no ricotta on their version, plenty of garlic, ample cheese, and a well balanced dough with the right amount of bite and crustiness. As long as it's not overdone, it's easy and quick for them to make with consistent results. Another key to white pizza enjoyment here is to shower your fresh pie with the pizza seasoning trifecta: crushed red pepper, grated parmesan, and oregano. If you're a garlic fiend you can always add more garlic powder. Black pepper works too. The other pizzas 3B offers are pretty good too. And their other menu offerings are pretty generously portioned, but about average in taste. For my money though, the white is the only thing worth getting. And having eaten plenty of them at every 3 Brothers location in existence, I can safely declare that the Columbia location makes it the best and most consistently. Enjoy!

Above average for standard Italian fare. Fast service. Satisfying food. I had the Beef ravioli special, which was pretty good. This is a good option for quick dining without spending as much as you would somewhere like Olive Garden.

The steak and cheese was soggy and swimming in an unhealthy amount of mayonnaise. My provolone cheese was hard to find. Won't be returning.

Baked zita was good (sauce was a little sweet), Pizza was good (decent dough) but the sausage was a bit too crumbly.

My girlfriend and I have been here a few times and we both were pretty surprised how good the food is given the low price. My favorite so far is the Veggie Lasagna. A couple things I don't like: I've ordered the veggie lasagna maybe 4 times now, and each time it is a little different. Twice the veggies were cooked perfectly (nice and tender), while two times the veggies were undercooked (hard carrots for example). Also the cleanliness of the place doesn't seem that great, the booths seem a little dirty, the seats a little unclean. I'm still giving it 4 stars because the food is really great for the amount of money you pay, honestly I think the food is better than most of the "real" Italian restaurants I've been to, at 1/3 the price. Also, there are no waiters, you order at the counter and you bring it out to you, so you're going to save money on a tip (but should try drop a buck in the tip bucket). The people working there are mostly kids but they have always been courteous and quick when ordering and bringing out the food, so the staff I would consider definitely a plus. On a last note, don't try eating in the bar, its way too loud to hold a conversation, stay in the restaurant portion if you want to hear the person across the table.

I'm a pretty big fan of the Three Brothers franchise. Actually, I'm fat, so I'm a pretty big fan of anything that's pumped full of grease. What am I rating this on: (WHOOOOOOOOOOOSH!) I've only had one slice of pizza from a Three Brothers, and I was drunk, so I really can't rate on that. I have had their Calzones/Dough junks. I've had their salads. I've had many of their sides. I've also been to plenty of different locations of this wonder. This rating is based only on those items and this location, and I have found other locations to be better, and I can't rate the pastas or pizza as I do not have any real experience with them. It's the moment you've been waiting for! (?) Service and Layout - It's a little... odd. I mean, I'm all about the basic idea and layout. You walk in and go up to the counter, as though it were a fast-food place. You seat yourself (I think... I mean, I do, though I'm not sure if you are supposed to. The way I see it, screw 'um). You have this metal stand with a number on it that tells the servers where to bring your order. They usually bring it quickly, and they usually check on you pretty frequently. The part I don't like is right in the beginning. It's kind of hard to know, especially if you are new to it, whether you are to seat yourself or not. There isn't exactly a clear "line" no matter how many people are there or how many registers are open. It always works out, but it's a bit awkward. Also, they have the "tip cup", which I think is a dick move. Especially here, where there actually are servers doing things. I tip at the table, and I tip for service only. I don't tip to make up for their bad job. That lets their corporate overlords win. The food - I think it tastes great, I know it'll give me a heart attack, and I think it's wonderful. Don't get the calamari. It's not bad, but it's rubbery. My brother loves the Deli Dough, I love the Calzones. I've never had the pizza or pasta. The salads are always fresh, but the ranch is watered down. Yeah, I like it. The prices - They seem a bit high until you see how much you get. Yeah. Portions are huge. They're like... Chinese food portions, but the two types of restaurants usually have a lot in common. Why not a better rating? - This isn't as good as other locations I've been to. I can't remember all of them, but I'm pretty sure that there was one in like... College Park maybe? that really kicked some ass. It was so friggin' perfect. WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!!

this used to be the site of restraunt picolo then they ran out of biz. then came this more modestly priced italian restraunt. the ambiance is little bit glitz than the usual patron here - family. i see lots of kids here. that may be because they got spagetti. it was good spagetti. other dishes were good to. definitely worth trying. while u r there dont forget the bowling alley to work out the excessive fat and carbo u gained. or make a mental note of visiting my fav chinese restaurant in howard county, hunan manor, which is across the street.

I've used Three Brothers to get pizzas for my workshops. I call the order in earlier in the week and the order is ALWAYS ready and exactly correct. They are so organized, super friendly, and have excellent customer service. My husband tells me to order one more pizza than I think I'll need for my workshop so I have enough to bring home to him! Excellent!

If you're looking for a cafeteria-style joint where you can take a group and get Italian food that is predictably and consistently mediocre, try Three Brothers. It seems like a lot of people are seeking out this experience in Columbia, as Three Brothers is pretty busy at lunch. Want some overcooked mushy pasta with crushed tomatoes glopped on served next to a nice flavorless iceberg lettuce salad? Three Brothers is for you.

Went there for a fund raiser, so that was a good thing. The service was good, and the set up is ok. Pretty efficient. The food was not so great. The pizza we get was really greasy, and didnt have a lot of cheese on it as compared the amount of grease oozing from it. The salad wasnt great either. Over all the food quality was lacking, no flavor, greasy, and just egh.

I had a birthday party here for my daughter (make your own pizza's) and I have to say that the managers, George and the other gentleman were excellent! They were so accomodating with the 18 7 year olds not to mention the pizza was great. I was very impressed with just how nice helpful everyone was. Its rare to see that type of customer service these days!

I've been dining at Three Brothers for 20 years now, most of the first 10 at their location in Greenbelt. I'm a big fan of their calzones, pizza, wings and pasta. Their sauce is homemade every day and flavorful. This location doesn't seem to be very busy on the weekends, probably because of there are many similar places in the area. Some of their specials are a great deal, pay attention when you arrive. My wife and kids prefer other competitors in the Howard County area, but this is still my favorite 'fast casual' Italian.

Just called to order a white pizza the Columbia locarion is on the way back to my home in Columbia from the mall. Called while at the mall on the first call "Hello I'd like to place a pickup order for 1 large white pizza to go" I had to repeat the order since she had to have my name first so I repeated the order 1 large white pizza and confirmed the spelling of my name then she said hold on and hung up. Second call she tells me to hold and I say I was the one just ordering the white pizza I wanted to make sure you got it since the phone hung up. She replys so you want a cheese pizza with white sauce. I say No I want a white pizza with olive oil and the 3 cheese blend. She says so you want a cheese pizza. I say No. She says hold on and hangs up again. Third call and I ask for a Mngr she says hold on and hangs up. Fourth call and a guy answers. I ask is this the mngr? He says no he's busy. I explain this is my 4th call and I would like to speak with a mngr. He offers to take my order and I refuse saying I would like to explain this to a mngr since you don't know what a white pizza is. He then puts me on hold for 5 min and as I pulled into my parking spot at home I hung up without placing the order with no answer. Poor management at this location. 2 yrs ago I found thick black moldy soda fountain taps there so I never drink the soda there but they usually know what a white pizza is when I call. It is the Tuesday special.

Better make sure you get your food early because this location is known to close early without warning if they're slow.

Steak and cheese sub was tasteless as it wasn't seasoned at all. Pizza was on the extra greasy side of greasy pizza. Disappointed. We stood at counter several minutes while staff standing behind counter ignored us and continued their conversation.

You know what? This place is pretty good. We go there after playing racquetball at the gym next door. The pizza is pretty good (of course, I've had better, but still ...). More tasty than Ledo's, for sure. Their subs have a generous quantity. Reasonable quality. Fast and friendly. But the best thing? I ordered well-done onion rings ... and they came out well done! So many restaurants under-cook their onion rings (and fries) even if you request well-done/crispy. These guys actually did it! Nice job! Also, it's a self-serve place so no tipping required (although since I've been back a few times, I now throw in a little tip when I pay at the counter). We'll be back again next week.

I have always loved 3 Brothers since going to school at University of Maryland. The original in Greenbelt is still my favorite but the Columbia location is really growing on me. Their pizza in Columbia is incredible! If they ever match Greenbelt's pasta dishes in quality and quantity, they will be tops in my book.

I wasn't sure what to expect before arriving. My date told me he really liked this place when I told him I like boutique type restaurants meaning locally owned and not a chain. This is where we ended up and in his own words this was more of a Chuck E. Cheese than Italian. Kids were everywhere running amok. It was loud and overall just a very unpleasant experience. The highlight was sitting across from him and attempting to hold a conversation without yelling and going hoarse since we couldn't hear each other due to the obnoxious noise level. As far as the food goes, they're charging you a pretty penny for Americanized Italian food. They have subs, entrees, desserts, and bottled/fountain drinks. I ordered the veggie lasagna which comes with a small salad and bread. I wasn't keen on the salad at all since it had onions and other components I'm overly picky about on it. For my dinner I got the veggie lasagna which I did enjoy. It is loaded up with a LOT of cheese and sauce. Make sure to get some napkins because you will need it for this dish. It is a huge helping which I turned into two meals. The food for me was 3.5 stars. The overall experience minus the guy I was with was kind of pathetic. The booth and table we sat at were worn to pieces. They need to replace certain pieces once they've been worn out for a little too long. The restaurant was packed so I'm sure they're not hurting for money to replace some basic essentials to improve the overall well being of their establishment. I'd doubt I would return. Seems like there are plenty of better options in the area where you could get quality and your money's worth without compromising one for the other.

So i was finally convinced to go to three brother's by my 7 year old son and there are things i like about it. I like the casual style. You order your food and sit down. Good for kids. They have a pretty good menu, wings, appetizers, salads, pastas, and of course pizza. It can get a little pricey if you go at dinner. I paid 36$ for dinner which is a little much in my opinion for this style of restaurant. The pizza- we got this by the slice and it was pretty good for $2 something a slice. My son loves it. I got the chicken chesapeake pasta and the flavor was good but i have to agree with the previous reviews where it was SWIMMING in butter. Now, i know alfredo is made from butter and cream, i make it myself and NEVER have i EVER seen so much butter. It;'s hard to tolerate. We got the appetizer sampler which was good, typical fried mozzarella, chicken wings, fried ravioli, etc. Bascially, I'll come back here for pizza and a casual atmosphere. Will not get the pasta ever again... If you're looking for a place like this with really good food, same kind of atmosphere try Pazani in elkrdige. It's worth driving a little further, for sure.

I went there with a friend of mine who goes there more often so in meantime wanted to give this place a shot, The dine-in Area was clean the cashier was nice and greating us warmly! since I did not plan to eat there I was not as hungry, I only ordered the Slice of Cheese Pizza and it was very reasonable price, warm and delicouse! well by tasting a slice of cheese pizza you can't really judge a restaurant with big menu base on a Slice pizza! But however I loved the service and cleanliness when next time I get more hungry I def will head off there and plan to order something like Pasta I love! I will update my Review with new experiance visitng this restaurant next time!

I went here for lunch with co-workers. It was OK. The sandwich was a good size. I ordered the Brooklyn Bomber and it was pretty good. I also got fries with the sandwich and they were pretty tasty. It was a decent lunch place but nothing too special about it.

  • Mike R.

I've lived in Columbia 5 years and in my humble opinion, this is the best pizza in the area (minus Flippin Pizza which is not in Columbia). I see a lot of the reviews with folks complaining about kids running around. This is a local joint where the families go after a baseball game...doesn't bother me. If you like thin crust New York style pizza at a local, non-chain restaurant, then you will like Three Brothers.

Had been turned off by them nearly a decade ago when I went to the one in Odenton & was treated like poop. Went to this one only because family from out of town wanted to meet there...and they have restored my faith in them. The place was very clean. The staff was very friendly and professional, the girl working the register was very thorough explaining the food on the menu, food didn't take too long to receive, and the waiters were quick to grab our empty plates when we were finished. Only real complaint I had was, I noticed 2 of the waiters weren't reading the order tags customers put at their table and were just wandering around looking for people that had ordered food. Bottom line: great experience. I love Sicilian pizza so I will be back.

My co-workers and I enjoy this place for lunch quite often. We work directly across the street off of Gerwig Lane so the location is awesome. The food is great, we usually order either the pizza slices, salads, or wraps. The employees are great and the service is fast. My personal favorite item on the menu is the buffalo chicken wrap. My roommate and I ordered a full pizza from here a couple weeks ago and it was awesome, just enough zesty tomato sauce and a large amount of toppings. The only negative about Three Brothers is that the prices I think are too high for the quality and amount of food. If you go for a lunch salad its around $8.00 and if you add a drink you'll be $10+ for lunch.

I seem to eat here more than I would like. Went on a Tuesday night, which apparently is 2 for Tuesday, where you buy a large pizza and get another for $3. A deal that attracts insane amounts of cheapskates who noisily fill up the restaurant with tables of 8+ people. I was there with my 2 small daughters and we weren't going to eat 2 large pizzas, so we ordered other stuff amid the chaos: 2 slices of cheese pizza, a spinach calzone, and italian boat. The calzone & italian boat each came with a "salad." The salad consists of a big pile of iceberg lettuce, canned sliced green olives, 2 slices of cucumbers, 2 slices of anemic tomatoes, and a handful of onion slices. It looks like the salads of yesteryear before quality ingredients were readily available to restaurants. Something to munch on while waiting for your food, but I can't imagine anyone actually enjoying this salad. The spinach calzone is a gross display of heaping quantities of cheap ricotta cheese and frozen spinach spilling out of a crust. The inside middle is usually cold as it is rarely heated through. I ordered once and my stomach hurt for the rest of the day. For some odd reason my youngest daughter likes it so I usually have a bite of hers to see if it has improved. It never has, always cold in the middle. At least it's consistent. The italian boat is terrible. Lousy quality italian sausage and other meats wrapped in a pizza crust and baked. The crust is good enough and an upgrade in the filliing ingredients could make this tasty - but instead it's a terrible way to overload on fat, calories and sodium. Avoid. Cheese pizza slices. Get this. Avoid the low quality toppings, get cheese only. I always tell myself to order this as the crust is pretty good, the sauce passable, and while the cheese could be better - at least this doesn't hurt my stomach after eating. I really wish my daughters wouldn't like it this restaurant. Stick to the cheese pizza and you'll have a mediocre dining experience that won't make your stomach hurt. Ordering other menu items could put you at risk. 2 stars only because of the pizza and that the place is pretty clean. I'll be back sometime, not on my own initiative, and I will make sure to stick to the cheese pizza slices.

Horrible. Ok where do I start! Kids running around like animals. Parents laughing thinking its funny. Trust me its not. Ok the food. How can i say this politely? It sucks! Rago sauce is better. I wish I would have went with my first intinct and went to Ledo's. Oh well lesson learned.... Finish your review

If you like overcooked pasta covered in canned tomato sauce, I would definitely recommend Three Brothers! I had the veal parmesan and spaghetti and it was inedible. The suspicious looking veal (it was green!) had the texture of rubber and the pasta was gooey. Also, the place was filthy with food everywhere on the floor and on the tables too. And, unfortunately, the staff was more interested in conversing with each other than cleaning the tables or preparing iced tea (why would they sell me iced tea if they were out of it?). The only good thing is that this establishment is located close to other restaurants so I was able to find another place to eat.

We went here for lunch on a whim. We were close by and didn't feel like searching for a place to eat. The place was clean and the people were friendly. You order at the counter and then give you a number so they know where to bring your food. They have a large selection of liquor, we didn't partake since it was lunch. I got a salad and slice. The salad had ugly brown lettuce in it and the rest of the veggies didn't taste fresh. The crust of the pizza was okay but it was super greasy. My hubby got a chicken parm sandwich and it looked gross. He said it tasted like a prepackaged breaded chicken breast that was thrown in the fryer. He also said the bread was dried out and ended up taking the chicken out of the roll and eating it plain. Overall, we weren't impressed. We won't go back.

Good place for a casual bite. I thought the pizza was pretty good and the service was friendly. It's not a first date place as you have to order at a counter but more of a place to have lunch/dinner with your family while running weekend errands.

The minute you walk in and see that this Restaurant is set up cafeteria style, you know you should run in the other direction. The inside needs to be remodeled, the decor is old and peeling. The patrons are mostly young families. There was a 3rd Birthday Party next to us with a face painter they had hired. We ordered buffalo wings, baked ziti and a deli dough. Wings were too well done, oil still dripping from them, ziti was OK but lacked flavor and the deli dough was once again boring and not worth $7. The only good thing about this place was.....oh nevermind....there was not one good thing about this place. I will not be going back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
