Don't even want to give it one star! One bad customer service experience definitely changed my opinion of this place. Placed a delivery order, waited around 1 and a half hour for the pizza to show up and nothing, called the place and the guy who picked up was extremely rude and called his driver stupid for not delivering to our place before the others. I said I didn't want the pizza anymore and for him to cancel the order and the guy ended up hanging up on me. I called again and the guy started telling me that I can't cancel my order and that we can take this to court. That was just crazy to me, I'll never be going there again!

IMO the best cheap pizza around. They have a $7 or $8 carryout deal that I use often. Also pretty good customer service. They messed up my order once and offered me a replacement no problem.

I definitely enjoyed the pizza; had it delivered and it came rather quickly. It's tough to get a good slice around here, but this was satisfying.

By far the best pizza in the area. The employees are always nice. The pizza is so cheap ad actually worth it unlike most other places. Haven't tried sandwiches because I can't stop ordering pizza but plan to someday.

For pizza, you just can't beat this place! It's $8 for an extra-large 1 topping, which is more than enough for a few people. It's my favorite pizza in the area. We normally do pickup and it's always still hot when we get it and it only takes about 15 minutes (even though they might tell you 20). I've never tried any of the other food there and maybe it's crap, but I love the pizza and that's really what they're there for.

Stopped here for a quick lunch. this is a storefront restaurant. This is a NO frills establishment that has a few tables thrown in for people who want to eat in. There is a very large menu of pizza, wings and all sorts of subs and sandwiches. I ordered a cheesesteak combo that comes with a bottled drink and fries. The fries which were probably frozen were well cooked, quite tasty and piled high enough for two to share. The sub was filled with lots of meat but I could hardly find the onions, cheese or lettuce and tomato. It was good, though a little on the bland side. My lunch was OK though I have to say I'd probably go to Jerry's next time.

I made on order from Philly Pizza and ordered a sub, a pizza, wings Italian, cold cut, and veal Parmesan sub. The pizza was not cook and had that stale hardness to it. Like when you microwave bread and let it sit. The Italian cold cut was mostly baloney, The veal was was over cooked and on stall bread. The was 2 liter not cold, and the wings were not cooked all the way and had the texture of a microwaved item. I called, I express in a very neutral manor How do they expect to stay in business only relying on one time only customers. They hung up on me I called them back and informed them that I will be filing a claim with pay pal

I ordered a Taj Mahal Pizza. It's supposed to come with spinach, cauliflower, and cheese. I paid extra for onions. I got a pizza with just spinach and cheese. No cauliflower, no onions.

Good food. Good value. Sketchy location. The XX-Large carryout special for $10.99 is an excellent value. Plenty of cheese, good amount of toppings and nice crust. The Thunder Hill area is pretty rough. While eating outside I watched plenty of foul language spewing, loud people walking around without any place to go. Bored people with questionable values are not my preferred dinner companions.

Probably the best pizza in Howard County...and there is no better deal. Extra large pizza for less than $10!!! This restaurant is not one you go to for their excellent customer service, nor is it the kind of place you can expect wonderful seafood, wraps, or desserts. Philly's Best is a pizza place, that makes absolutely amazing PIZZA.

People that give this place a one star are stupid Oh the napkin was off white Oh the guy didn't wish me a happy birthday even though my Birthday was 7 months ago Oh he didn't say hello I love You what would you like to order Jeez people....some of the stuff people complain about in howard county is just absolutely stupid. Get Yourself a personal chef. I'm From NY and some of the best food joints usually address you with "what do you want" The food speaks for itself Great pizza....nuff said

After living in Philadelphia for five years it was a bit heartbreaking to move to the Maryland suburbs where there's not 5 cheesesteak places within a 5 minute walk of my apartment. I haven't tried their pizza but so far their cheesesteaks (just cheese and steak, please) are the closest I've come to an actual Philadelphia cheesesteak. The steak is packed with meat and if you get the full size one you're in for a meal. Prices seem standard for the area which is more expensive than Philly but hey it's cheaper than driving all the way to Philly and back. It does seem to take a while between the time I order and the time I leave with my order but I guess they're not whipping out steaks every five minutes, so more prep time is needed than what I'm used to. Other things from the menu I've tried have been the fried cheese (it was fried cheese, not much I can say about it), fried mushrooms (I'd go back for more), and the Philly sticks (reminded me of Little Caesar's Crazy Bread though I wasn't a fan of the accompanying marinara sauce), mostly standard sides worth going for if you have the room.

This place is horrible when it comes to making the customer happy. I got a flyer from them and it said free delivery. When the driver arrived, I was charged a delivery charge. When I called the manager, I was referred to the main manager in Ellicot City, MD. The first manager was extremely rude and told me that gas prices went up, so they charged for it now. I just had gotten the flyer and they didn't tell me that when I was on the phone and made the order. I told them very politely that they should inform people that they were charging for delivery. They were very rude and basically hung up on me. I called back and they were extremely rude. Don't go here, they are mean. Seriously, if you have a problem, don't expect to deal with anyone who will help you.

I gotta tell you, this is some good ool' American Pizza. As you may have noticed, I did not say "Italian pizza" or "Sicilian pizza" or "Neopolitan pizza". Nosirreeee Henrietta! I am rating this joint in terms of the American palette (even tho I am asian, so umm..) This place has some of the best pizza in the area! Sometimes u just wanna gorge on some super cheesy, super baconeeyy, super sausageeeey, super pepperonniiii goodness and this joint delivers the goods! I have ordered delivery about 7 times so far, and I decided to stop in and pick up one day to check out the place. You can never be too sure. I have had some awesome delivery food before only to find out it was made in some 3rd world, bomb shelter, roach infested, 19 immigrants huddled around a Goerge Foreman grill cooking kind of place. So I figure, hey, I betta know where and who is making my fizzoood. To my horror, this place is like 875 feet from my house! Talk about how stupid I musta felt! I mean, how lazy could I have been ordering some dude who is probably an ex con and driving his 1991 Hyundai Excel to deliver my yumminess when all I had to do was walk out my front door and take 14 steps! Plus the wasted tip money! This is a recession!! How ignorant I am! I need to be whipped with a 6 foot long cherry flavored twizzler! So back to the place. It is actually a pretty big size carryout type restuarant located on the corner of connecting streets-extremely plenty of parking and it stands alone with no gas station nearby, atm, liqour store, or some laundrymat. It has about 7-8 small tables but it looks like they do 99% of their business via delivery. Place and staff looked decent enough and I was hawking the dude making my pizza and he was moving at a slow, meticulous pace, which is GREAT, cus he was taking his time making sure the toppings were placed correctly which leads into..... The pizza. It is a medium thickness type crust that becomes thinner towards the center, has a great chewiness and dough flavor, and has a really good breadstick texture type crust-not crispy or hard, but chewy with a small bit of crunch. It's done well and u can tase a small amt of sweetness in the dough which was good. But what ets this palce apart are the toppings- they overload them and they do it the right way, meaning it is not crazily thrown on like some crack addict, weed toking, highscool dropout employee that you see working Papa Johns or Dominos. Ever had a slice of pepperoni and one slice has 4,197 slices of pepperoni and another slice has 2? Then u wanna beat the crap outta your friend for grabbing the better slice? I will kill you muthaf#KKa!!! Gimme that slice B#itch!! Not this place, every time I ordered a pizza, each slice was like uniformed- maybe they have some autistic kid making the pizzas and paying him 14 cents (cus they won't know!) but whoever it is I can see with a weight measure, a ruler, and a computer program to assist in strategically placing the right amount on each slice. Plus, the toppings are really top quality- well as top as you can get for a delivery place. Meaning you won't get sliced italian sausages, but will get those crazy steroid tumor looking shapes of molded sausage that are sodium preservative filled, but oh so good. But it seems to be of better quality than most places. AND, they take the extra step. I order the meatlovers alot (This sh#t be banging yo!) and they put half the meat UNDER the cheese and the other half on top cus some meats cook differently, and it is this little attn to detail that what makes me notice and it def makes the pizza cook perfectly. They have a lot of specials so price ain't nuttin' but a thang-its cheap. I find it funny how growing up, a Pizza Hut Pan Pizza was like the Holy Grail where when my dad took me, I thought he got a rasie at work, or soime booty from my mom the night before. Well, there is a Pizza Hut right across the street from this place and the Hut runs those $10 any pizza deals all the time (which is actually a great price for pizza hut), but it looks like the locals don't care paying a cupla dollars more for a pie that is larger, more topping packed, and with better ingredients. Yum, yum, gimme summmmmm - I would say from a delivery/carryout pizza joint, this place is by far the best in the area!

Not really the best.. but not bad either. A decidedly acceptable cheese steak and pizza spot. A decent variety of fast food options on the menu. Convenient if you live locally.

This place gave me severe food poisoning, from their vegetarian pizza. When I called them all they could say is "sorry, I hope we don't lose your business" OF COURSE YOU LOST MY BUSINESS, YOU POISONED ME!!!!!

  • Shannon G.

The food is good but they don't know how to make a gyro. When I called in my order I just happened to ask if feta cheese came on the chicken gyro and the guy on the phone said no. I was like OK can you please add it. When they delivered our food they had charged an extra $1.75 for the feta cheese that should already come with it! Also the chicken on the gyro was some weird and flattened processed chicken stuff. I guess it was suppose to look like lamb meat? There wasn't much of it either. It was mainly full of lettuce. Next time I will stick with the pizza and subs.

Good pizza, decent subs and wraps. The menu is big so there is something for everyone. Overall a great place for delivery.

  • Adam H.

I've ordered from here several times and I've been happy with the food each time. The subs are on the greasy side, but sometimes that is what you are looking for. I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza. I've only tried the gyro pizza, but it was good and something I haven't had before. The wings are insanely crispy. I have yet to try their traditional buffalo wings, but their Asian style sauces are great. They go a bit heavy on the sauce, but the wings are crispy enough that it doesn't make the skin soggy at all. French fries are meh. This is not a gourmet place, but for a delivery pizza + sub shop, its good stuff.

Just got the sub/fries/soda for $12.99 deal. This is the first time I've eaten here and I really like the fries. For some reason they stand out from other delivery pizza place fries. The deal came with a 20 oz soda as opposed to other places which give you cans in the same sort of deal. I got the chicken cheesesteak and I really like it. Will definitely order from here again. Delivery wasn't that quick - 45 minutes - but they told me 45 minutes so it wasn't a surprise. The delivery driver was really nice and smiley.

  • Michelle C.

I've been eating here for years. Their delivery has always been fast and accurate (with the exception of a missing soda, which the delivery guy went and bought at the gas station across the street and brought it back to me, even though I said it wasn't a big deal. Impressive). The cheesesteaks here are delicious. My boyfriend is from Philly and he likes them (very picky about his cheesesteaks) too. They're always so big I get at least two meals out of them. The fries that come with them however, not always good. Very often limp and greasy. Pizza isn't bad either. It's not competing with NY pizzas by a long shot but not bad. What is really good are their pizza rollies. Basically pizza rolled up, brushed with garlic butter and baked. Omg good. Loaded with cheese and pepperoni, with a nice caramelized cheese layer on the bottom. Grilled chicken salad is good (it has a specific name but I can't remember it) with lots of veggies and a monster portion of well seasoned grilled chicken. I've never been disappointed with it and its always more than I can finish in one meal. All that being said, since I moved out of the area I haven't been in awhile. Happened to be in the area earlier this week and ordered up a cheesesteak with fried onions, sweet peppers and ketchup. I'm happy to report that it was just as good as I remembered it. Give this place a try. Maybe the counter guys aren't full of rainbows and sunshine but they're pleasant enough and what really matters is the food, right ?

My BF & I order from PB on a regular basis, usually pizza but occasionally subs. Their pizza is my favorite in the area. The crust is delightfully chewy, and the sauce has just a hint of sweetness. The amounts of cheese and toppings are consistently appropriate, generous but never overpowering. They lose one star due to their side orders, though. Their regular fries have a crispy coating that I personally don't like. That's a matter of taste, but the other types of fries are a tad overpriced. As far as their service, I don't know what some people expect. No one there has ever offered to be my new best friend, but my orders have always been taken quickly and efficiently, and filled the same way. That's all that I expect from a very busy establishment.

  • Ken W.

First of all....Great pizza at a good price. BUT.....I will never get soft serve ice cream there again! One day I got a small cone and a few days later I got a medium cone. Huh, seemed like the same size to me but for double the price. One might thing that if it is double the price it would be double the size. Sorry, I don't think I'll be getting ice cream there again.

  • David S.

If you are looking for a very fair priced, but average pizza this is the place for you. I think the pizza is good but I wouldn't say it is anything special. I do like the deals they have and those, to me, make it worth coming back. It's also extremely close to my house so it is convenient. I'm sure there are better places, but this place isn't bad.

Every time I order from here they forget things and mess it up. Today I talked to 3 people regarding a messed up order and after continually being out on hold the "gentleman" started arguing with me. NEVER order from here!!! They are rude and never get the orders right and forget stuff.

  • Joseph J.

1st time here. Ordered Cheese steak sub. Very good customer service. Sub was very good. Lots of steak chopped up as was lettuce, tomato etc. Bread was toasted with a slight char to it. Good crunch & soft inside. Perfect! Def will be back.

  • Sarah W.

I cannot believe how ridiculously rude the employees are over the phone. I called with a very simple request, and was sharply informed that "it was too hard" and they wouldn't do it. I asked for sauce on half of a pizza. Not hard. I've never really enjoyed their food, but opted for convenience. Did not place an order today, and will not place one again. There are a number of far better pizza places in the region, and it's worth it to go a little farther out for far superior food with far superior service.

  • David B.

Had a great cheesesteak today! It was just like back home except for the roll. The meat had lots of flavor. The cheesesteak was filled with meat. I didn't have to order double meat like Maryland cheesesteaks. If it was an Amaroso roll then it would be 5 stars. Great fries! The were like Wendy's fries.

I took a chance ordering from this place and wished I would've read the previous reviews first. Pretty much feel like I got suckered out of $30. I ordered the 12" Margherita pizza and 20 wings. When the pizza arrived it was warm, not hot. The pizza itself was the saddest pizza I've ever seen. There was hardly any mozzarella cheese and the basil was soggy and seemed old. I wouldn't really call it a pizza, more like dough with some sauce and a pinch of cheese. The wings were ok. Nothing spectacular. Not sure if I'd give this place a second chance. The first impression was not impressive. For what I paid I should've just stuck with Dominos or Pizza Hut.

The Manager of this place is completely rude. Tried to tell me without even asking his driver if a receipt was given, that I was wrong because the drivers ALWAYS have a copy of the receipt. Then he proceeded to tell me to "Cut the bullshit" and hung up on me. I think they are the worst with customer service and will never go back to them again! I am pretty sure you do not need to be that rude when they forgot something on big order and I just wanted to verify we were not charged for the items missing. Will never recommend or use this place again. Clearly, not an issue for Philly's Best since I was told he could care less if we used them again or not. I am still stunned by the rudeness of this place.

I was enticed by the Pizza Fries, so I order them and a large Pizza. So being from Philly I have had Pizza fries before and the ones I ordered today were just okay and so was the pizza. Therefore there was noting to write back home about. There were a few people ordering subs maybe I will try the subs the next time I go there.

I just started working in the Columbia area. I came across this place on my to work one day (located next to a hair salon). Not really being familiar with alot of places to get lunch, I decided to call in my order to pick up yesterday. I had the 8" Italian Cheesteak, which was pretty good (includes: mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and a really tasty sauce). I also had french fries, which were just ok to me. Pretty fair prices for their sandwhiches. They also serve pizzas, paninis, wings and salads. I will definitely get lunch from here again, but maybe minus the french fries (LOL).

I like Philly's Best. They have really good cheesesteaks and who seems to be the owner, but I'm not positive is, is really nice. They have a good deal on pizza too and it's decent pizza!

They have the best pizza. We had guest in town and they kept talking about how great the pizza was. The wings aren't the best but everything else we've had was great. They are quick too. We order from them a lot and have tried all the delievery places in columbia and Philly Best is the best.

Bought some 12" Philly cheesesteaks. Came with lots of meat, but not much evidence of the peppers, onions and mushrooms. Sort of a one dimensional sub. Couldn't taste the lettuce, tomato or mayonnaise cause there wasn't much on the sub. Would have gotten two stars if I didn't find a large foot-long hair mixed in my sub. I don't recommend the Philly cheesesteaks here.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
