I think the facility is definitely too small for the amount of business they get during lunch time. They are conveniently located and newly open so perhaps that contributes to the overwhelming business they receive. However don't expect "fast" service. They seem adequately staffed, but expect average 10-20 min wait. The seating area is quite small, only 2 booths and a few tables. I didn't like how there's no condiment bar like you would find at McDonald's. However I like how they give you condiments for everything without asking. Some places won't even give napkins if you don't ask. Breakfast seems to be a slower time, and you can order lunch during that time which seems more logical than going during their rush hour. I had a breakfast burrito which is pretty big. Lacking black pepper but the salsa isn't too bad. However their ice coffee was strange, served in a hot coffee cup, no ice and just plain coffee. No flavors and sugar was not provided. I'm not too familiar with Sonic's, but this place seemed ok.

Extremely slow. This place has been here for a while now and even when they don't have many people there they take forever timbale anything.make sure you check your order before leaving they will mess it up. I was excited about getting a sonic in this town but after going there you will be disappointed big time.

Always very slow, hardly ever remember your condiments, little to no ice in the drinks. Terrible.

As I start this review I've been in the drive-thru line for almost 30 minutes. "Fast Food" isn't really describing this current location yet, and they absolutely have some kinks to work out. The guy taking ordered was super nice, and very polite but I saw a number of new employees meandering about, purposeless, with food of their own, to the clear detriment of their customers. I guess customer service is best left, in fast food at least, to Chik-fil-a. As for the food, which I now have, it's pretty typical Sonic, which is exactly what I was looking for. Nothing gourmet, but who doesn't love some tater tots?! The burger was not hot when I got it back to my office not even 5 minutes down the road (was pretty yummy though), and the loaded tater tots were a mess, but I think that will probably change once everyone is up to speed and trained. Verdict? I'll be back, but probably not for another couple of months...keep working on it!

This sonic is great! All the bad reviews on here seem to be from when they opened. I'm sure they had their issues, but every time I've been there, it's delicious. They have the BEST burgers.

Extremely slow drive through, food is sub par at best. I know new restaurants go through growing pains, but this one should be over them by now. I've tried breakfast and lunch and both were terrible. I really can't recommend this place.

I was extremely excited when they opened last year, but it is nowhere near as good as the Sonics I've eaten at down south. Fries here are always very salty and the burgers don't quite have the flavor and juiciness I've grown accustomed to. A staple beverage we always get is the cherry limeade which this particular Sonic doesn't quite get right. The swift and friendly service you get at most Sonics is sorely missed at this one. I'm a little confused with the dine-in concept they decided to go with here since most are drive-ins. I've never set foot inside. One of the most disappointing experiences we've had here was when they ran out of fries. Fries! On a good note, it beats eating at most other fast food joints. Their hotdogs are very good as well...but they aren't exactly hard to mess up either. The owners/managers need to go down south to see how Sonic is supposed to taste and get things right. Fix the service and food to win back our business!

Sonic locations aren't that abundant in my area yet I see the commercials daily. Seeing a location while on the road is almost a discovery and a must stop. I have never had a bad experience at any of their locations. The milkshakes are great.

Food reminds me of the "Mom & Pop" hamburger stands in Southern California-and the drinks are AMAZING! Shakes are nothing short of decadent! Do yourself a favor and head over for lunch and you won't be disappointed!

No hamburger buns. No small/medium cup lids. And no nerds for the nerds slushes that are advertised. Breakfast toaster contents lopsided and toast stale. Poor audio at stall. Never had a reasonable experience at this location.

Walked in after seeing the long lines of cars. Thought we had it good until the meal came! Wrong sodas and when we asked for ketchup, They do not have any!!! How do you have a burger place and no ketchup???Burgers were burgers, McD's are better! Cheesesteak sucked! Come for the shakes and ice cream, not the food!

I have been here twice and shame on me. Both times I have waited for over 40 mins for my food. There is nothing fast about this food. Every time I have ordered something they have messed it up and I have had to wait for them to bring me a replacement. Not sure who is doing their training program, but if they don't do something about time and accuracy they will loss customers quickly.

Being a fairly new restaurant, I think this Sonic is going through some growing pains, etc and is lacking in consistency given some of the reports I've heard (screwed up orders, cold food, etc). However I have stopped here twice, once for breakfast and today for a late lunch and can say that my food was the same quality as I've had at other Sonics in VA and PA. I ordered the Sonic double cheeseburger with tater tots and a diet Dr. Pepper. The burger was very good, with hot juicy patties and cold, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onions. Reminded me of the good old days of the McDLT (hot side hot, cold side cold). The tater tots were hot and crispy and not too greasy but did lack some flavor- much better with ketchup. I do have to say that both times I have visited this Sonic was during off-peak hours so maybe the food is better when they are not crushed. Regarding the reviews that say they are too crowded or too small for the level of business- those reviewers must be recent to St. Mary's County. Anytime something new comes here you can expect a mad crowd for weeks. I still remember when Taco Bell came to San Souci Plaza in the early 90's...you couldn't get near that place for months!

Staff is rude and food doesn't make up for it! Brown lettuce on a cold chewy burger and there is a manager there that is horrible. I know it's fast food and a lot of young kids work there...but can you pull your freaking pants up bc your ass isn't something I want to see as I waited for my crappie food.

The newness has settled down since it's opening and it's not as busy or packed. Good food, I love it

  • Julie W.

Well....I'm not one to usually write bad reviews, but they literally had NOTHING. Everything we ordered they were out of it. Like why were they even open if they have nothing? Like I understand they just opened, but they should've planned for the high volume of customers rather than pissing everyone off right when they opened. Doesn't seem like a good way to start business... Also we sat at the drive through microphone for 5 minutes before we yelled "hello" and got someone to answer. We left because we couldn't get anything we wanted...like come on.
