Ate at this location a few times. Never had to wait for a seat that I can remember. The booth seats seem to be wore out big time, you can feel the springs as you bottom out and that pertains to all the booths Ive sat in and Im not a big person. The staff is friendly if your lucky you'll get a server that wont let your drink get empty. The food is always hot and satisfying. Overall it has been a good experience but the place needs a makeover and the drinks need to keep coming.

The food at this restaurant was of very poor quality. The waitress was nice but she was too busy bussing tables that she would just zoom pass our table rather quickly. My mother and I went to eat with my 3 month old baby who was sound asleep. We were quite happy my son was asleep and just wanted some mom/daughter time. My mom ordered seafood alfredo and I ordered the gluten free pasta with grilled chicken. They made sure my gluten free pasta was separated from the rest (I have a bad gluten/wheat allergy). It was cooked very poorly - the chicken was hard, the pasta tasted over-cooked. My mom's food had 6 small shrimp, 3 scallops and that was it. My mom was very disappointed with it being called Seafood Alfredo and it was nothing like a good seafood alfredo. Dessert- the gluten free menu had chocolate mousse. The waitress (she was very apologetic and made it clear she is not familiar with gluten free) went and checked a few times with management, only to discover none of them knew anything about gluten allergies and assumed it was some kind of weight loss diet i was on. Needless to say I was disappointed as I was hoping to have some dessert with my mom. I will give this a 2 star for the food as they did have a good salad and the kiwi melon drink was good.

The management tolerates blatant disrespect in front of guests. I know, because I was taken there by some guests of mine on one evening, and I took them out for a second time on their last evening in town. We were sitting in the back of the restaurant, and we could here the "F-word" yelled/screamed by a young lady coming from what we assume was the kitchen area. I have since stopped going to the store and do not plan on returning in the near future.

We had a really great experience for my daughters fourth birthday. The staff was excellent and friendly all around. With a party of 12 our waiter seemed to have plenty of assistance so that orders were taken, drinks refreshed and the meals brought out in a timely manner. You can tell they have good training. Bravo!

Called ahead to talk to the hostess because we had a large party of 14. Hostess was very short and curt on the phone, saying that they had a long wait and a large table in front of us. She also refused to take my name or put us on the seating list despite this long wait. She was so unwelcoming that we decided to go somewhere else. However, a member of our party didn't get the message and went there anyway. Turns out the restaurant was empty with many open tables. The hostess turned down a large party because she didn't want to be bothered. Poor way to run a business!!!!

Our party of 6 on a Sunday around 5pm was seated immediately & soon our waiter came over for our drink orders. Not much later we ordered our entrees & then received a large salad & bread sticks to share. I got Chicken Scampi, my wife got Herb Grilled Salmon. Our food came within 10 minutes. My scampi was excellent as was the salmon. Lots of chicken, peppers & spices in a really good Lemmon sauce. The angel hair pasta was cooked perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised because I'm have not been a big fan of OG due to the Italian fast-food reputation it has. I am starting to be a fan. Will try other dishes in the future.

Great service from our server, Shelby! Manager table checks preformed by Kim to ensure customer satisfaction were completed. Food was delish! Portion size was well above what I anticipated, more than enough to take home and our server accommodated our request for a couple bread sticks to go to enjoy everything again later . The drinks, salad and bread sticks hit the table much faster than average restaurants after ordering. Calamari could have been fried slightly firmer, although I did not personally request this to be done when ordering as I usually do. My braised beef tortellini was cooked to perfection. The sauce was delicious and the pasta/beef were tender. Very pleased, will return soon.

Food was good. There was a really black piece of lettuce in the salad. Salad was the worst part. Mediterranean trout was tasty. Chicken parmesan was good. What was terrible was our service. She was very slow. Forgot our drinks twice. Forgot our box. I know servers here and this is not the norm. We will try again.

I apparently have really bad luck with Southern MD restaurants...and Olive Garden was not an exception. My boyfriend and I went with my parents after they raved about the food they got the week before using the 2 for $25 deal. Given that we hadn't been to Olive Garden in years, we were up for trying it out. I love their salad and garlic bread! The salad and garlic bread didn't disappoint. My dad's pasta fagioli soup was great too. My boyfriend said his gnochi soup was fine....but it sounded and looked gross to me (I didn't try it). The waitress was pretty cold from the start of the meal - I'm not sure what I did wrong to her, but she just didn't seem to like me...no response to my drink order and no smile whatsoever at any point during the meal. For our meals, I got the mezzaluna ravioli with meat sauce and both my boyfriend and my dad got the smoked mozzarella chicken. The waitress described the chicken entree as chicken with peppers and sundried tomatoes in a combination alfredo/tomato sauce. My mom got the parmesan crusted stuffed chicken, which she couldn't stop talking about from her last visit. We waited FOREVER to get our entrees. Normally I don't mind waiting - I actually like elongating dinner to enjoy talking with family/friends, but this was too much. It got to the point where we were just annoyed and hungry. When our food finally came, the person that delivered it had no idea who got what (or even what each dish was). That was only a minor issue, except that it also was painfully obvious that all our food had sat under the heat lamps for way too long. My pasta was hardened on the sides because it had dried out completely. The cheese on my mom's chicken was hard and crusty instead of gooey as it had been the week before. My boyfriend's pasta was covered in a layer of oil that had obviously been sitting for a while. Also of note, the pasta actually had no tomato sauce, just alfredo (the manager later told us that the waitress had described it wrong). My dad's pasta had peppers, but my boyfriend's did not. When we complained to the waitress, she did not try to respond in any way. She just immediately got the manager. The manager apologized and offered to replace any of the dishes that we didn't like. My mom got hers replaced and the new one was better, but still not like what she had had the week before. The rest of us stuck with our dishes, but my boyfriend and I didn't even finish ours. For dessert, my boyfriend and I split the triple chocolate strata. It was ok, but nothing special. My mom got the two mini Dolcini with chocolate mousse and lemon cake. Hers were both very good. My dad got the bread pudding, which was actually very good as well (if you like bread pudding). Don't get me wrong - I have no problems with Olive Garden in general. I usually love it. This was a horrible experience though - the service and the food were both bad. To top it all off, the manager didn't seem overly concerned with the issues. Although she offered to replace our dishes (after we had already waited a very long time), she did not take anything off the bill or offer us a free dessert, etc. I know that should not be expected, but it is a nice gesture, especially when a meal was that bad.

Well, it is a chain, and it is Olive Garden..... But I am a little impartial to Olive Garden. I loveeeeeeee pasta, peach tea, and everything that wants to make me FAT! The food is always good, and I have never had a bad server! The staff is always friendly when you come in, and the place is consistantly clean. On the weekends this place STILL gets packed, so beware on a Friday or Saturday night.

Not a fan, sauce was horrible, even the kids won't eat it! Chicken was slightly burnt, stuffed mushrooms were stale, how does that happen? Not worth the price for bad food!

We had a very nice dinner, pasta was good but not outstanding. The wait staff was very friendly. All in all good food, reasonably priced.

I'm Italian...so with that being said, I'm pretty picky when it comes to Italian food. Salad was good! Breadsticks had a good flavor, although not the best. I ordered eggplant Parmesan...this was a mistake. Basically fried eggplant with horrible breading arranged on my plate with very little sauce and very little cheese! Major disappointment! Husband ordered a stuffed chicken Marsala meal...it was just ok, nothing great. Family wasn't thrilled with the flavor of our food/meals especially for the prices they charge. We also ordered the calamari appetizer...it was tasty, the breading was nice and light and cooked just right. We will go back again but next time we are sticking with the soup salad and breadsticks.

I mean, it's Olive Garden. The food is frozen, then re-heated. The sauces are thin, garlic is added in large doses, and pasta dishes with meat skimp on the meat. If the entire restaurant is mostly empty, you end up sitting near a server's station, screaming kids, or a bathroom. The alcohol selection is pedestrian, they ration out the breadsticks like you're in a POW camp, and it's always interesting taking bets on when your server will appear to refill your glasses. Good coffee, though.

So I'm down in Hollywood, MD looking for a place to eat and low and behold.... Olive Garden. Its been there for a while and I eaten at one , so there hasn't been much of a change except... This Olive Garden is about as good as it gets, in terms of 'Customer Service'. The staff is always polite, the restaurant is clean and the food seems to be fresh and served relatively quickly and the restaurant is a nice change way down there in St. Mary's County. Majority of what they have are burger spots, so to have some semi-authentic italian, its a nice change of pace. So if your down there, go on in and have a bite to eat because where your there, your family... or something like that!

We visited the California, MD Olive Garden on Veterans Day to enjoy their offer of a free dinner item for veterans. The staff was very efficient, with an understandably large crowd, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. They did not take reservations for this day, which was understood. The Seafood Alfredo and Ravioli entree dishes were prepared just right, and the Zuppa Toscana and Pasta e Fagioli soups were very tasty. My entree was complimentary ($15.49 value). They also gave us a 10% discount on the rest of the bill! With a 20 oz. glass of Blue Moon, the wife's meal, and the daughter's kid's meal, the bill was just $24.31. As a nice complimentary touch, the waitress handed me a "Thank You for Your Service" card, which was appreciated :-0)

I think we can all agree the Olive Garden has the best breadsticks. I also love the family style salad they put on the table in the big bowl. It's a nice touch. The staff was very friendly too. The entrees were forgettable. I got the Chicken Parmesan. I found the fried chicken to be average and the sauce was ok. It came with a side of spaghetti. You'd think they'd have the spaghetti down to a science. Well, sadly they don't. They were super chincy with the sauce on everything. Admittedly, I like a lot of sauce so it's a personal preference, but it still seemed weak. When I finished eating, there was no sauce anywhere to be seen and I didn't even do any extra dipping with those delicious breadsticks. If you're jonesing for an Italian fix while in Southern Maryland, go ahead and stop in. It'll at least scratch the Italian itch, but if you are a foodie or just an Italian snob, don't bother.

I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Bistecca. I was very disappointed in the food. The service was great and the restaurant was clean...but back to the food. The steak was dry and bland. The mashed potatoes were bland as well, shoot, they were pretty dry too. Alas the asparagus. WTF, how did these get screwed up to!? They looked great but they were dry and boring. Overall, not a good meal.

This is the first review I'm submitted to Yelp. I know what you're thinking, why the OG then? Well my delicious experience both last night and this afternoon is the reason. My husband and I stopped in for an early dinner, I usually just gorge on salad and breadsticks and save most of the entree for lunch the next day. Everything was average; food, service, atmosphere, what you'd expect from a classic chain restaurant. We left after our 30 minute dining experience, and barely barely made it out of the parking lot when I remember my leftovers were still on the table. When I returned another couple was already sitting in out spot. I was about to ask our server and she replied, "Good, you're back for you're credit card!" I responded, "WOW, we hadn't even realized we'd left it. I just came back for my leftovers". She informed me the busser had tossed my huge portion of seafood gumbo, but she would see what the manager could do. The awesome manager, obviously frazzled by the incoming dinner rush, smiled and said, "if you don't mind waiting, we can have a fresh order to you in 15 minutes." And by order she meant another meal; salad and breadsticks included! Now me and my husband both have lunch for today! Thanks OG, we'll definitely be back!!

Not what I'd call Italian food. More like Industrialian. The place is clean and the service is prompt. It seems there's an atmosphere of fear among the servers so, you can always get free stuff by complaining.

This is the worst olive garden I have ever been to. My poor wife is the one who suffers the most, because I love olive garden and am always willing to give them one more chance. Besides this is the only Italian place in SoMD.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
