Although I like their food and prices, I often avoid University Market because the older man who works the register is constantly referring to me as "girl" or making comments on my appearance. I'm a 27 year old woman, not "pretty girl" or "beautiful" or "honey." I have never heard to him refer to male patrons as "boy" or remark on their appearance. I want to make an economic transaction, not be ogled.

An excellent place to grab a bite to eat for lunch. All of the 9" hoggies ($5.99) come with a free fountain drink or coffee. For breakfast grab the egg and cheese 9" hoggie with a free coffee for $3.99, what a deal! The guys working there are pretty cool too, If you go often enough they remember what you order and will finish you sentence when you start to order. Only bad thing I have to say is occasionally I will bite into a piece of eggshell when eating one of their egg sandwiches, but that is pretty rare.

CAUTION: The guys (all Middle Eastern descent) making your food behind the counter never ever wear gloves... disgusting. Hand washing is done without soap few and far between. Typical scene is the dude would check his phone and then use those dirty paws to make you a sandwich. The Health Department really needs to crack down on this place. Otherwise it's a convenience store that carries a surprising number of ethnic items from different countries and one that jacks up the prices to an obscene level; lots of homeless people/panhandlers loitering outside the store The University Market (many, especially Hopkins students, refer to the place as "Uni Mini") gets a high rating because of sentimental values... this IS the place to be after a night of hard-core studying at the library or an epic night out drinking and partying to get your cravings for greasy, deep-fried food satisfied late at night. Popular items are the chicken parm sandwich, steak egg & cheese, and bacon egg & cheese. A lot of people add a hashbrown ($1 extra) inside the sandwich they are getting. Other food items at the sandwich counter such as the deli meats and tuna/egg/seafood salads - avoid at all costs: no one ever gets them and they do not seem fresh. $7.99 for any hoagie sandwich (which is on an 8" roll) and a drink is included Even though University Market is open 24/7 (really, even the holidays), the grill at the prepared food section closes around 4am until 5:30am, which means you cannot order hot food during that time, which you shouldn't do anyway. I'd stick only with packaged goods, not their prepared food

It's not the greatest place - a little overpriced but it's close and convenient. So consider the cost benefit analysis of your $ vs the time spent going elsewhere. Don't get the wings. Mozzarella sticks are decent though.

If you live in the Charles Village area, you have to.. HAVE TO know about this place. This 24/7 convenience store is my go-to if you need something quick and you don't want delivery. They offer made to order hot and cold sandwiches, sides and even ice cream! The guys working the store are super nice and friendly. You would think I would feel weirded out going to a convenience store at late hours of the night, but this place is welcoming and not at all sketchy. The mozzarella sticks, chicken parm, cheesesteak are really good... especially if you need something to eat after a night out. They offer breakfast sandwiches all day too, but I have yet to try that. In addition, the store offers a variety of Middle Eastern foods and spices which is pretty awesome. Kombucha drinks, Tahina sauce, falafel are some items you would find here that you might not typically find in a convenience store. This is place is definitely a great place to frequent if you live in the area.

Wonderful convenience store, open 24/7 I don't think I've ever seen it close, even during the 5 feet of snow in 2009. They have great hot and cold sandwiches that are available 24/7 also from the grill. I've also seen the same 6 guys working there everyday so eventually they get to know you there and can make your order when you walk in. Overall it's a great college convince store right by Hopkins

Do not go here if you are female. The men that work there are animals. I've been here alone and I see them staring at me and other females speaking in Arabic with perverted looks on their faces. When you go up to the counter they ask you "where are you from?" about 12 times. If you reply that you're American they'll ask "no, no, before that, where is your family from" and then they'll ask if you're Lebanese. Not kidding but I told friends about this and they said they had the same exact experience. I came here with male Egyptian friends and they were treated with respect but they confirmed that what they say Arabic about female shoppers is nasty. If you look at other reviews you'll see I'm not the first person to mention this. Aside from this behavior the food there looks unsanitary and gross.

So sad my classic Steak, Egg& Cheese on a kaiser was substandard. I asked for ketchup and no ketchup. The cheese wasn't really melted at all. The sandwich wasn't very hot, and it wasn't very busy so there shouldn't be a reason why my sandwich should t be deliciously hot. First time I've been disappointed with my usual sandwich, but there it is.

The one place worst than Eddies in Charles Village. The deli meats look wilted and not very fresh. The sandwiches are bland. Plus they jack up the prices trying to get one over on the JHU students. I would not trust these guys in any business venture.

If you go to hopkins and you don't know about this place, then you're doing college wrong. even if you don't go to hopkins, you should definitely try it out! While this 24/7 convenience store is pretty awesome, I will not hype it up too much because it isn't AMAZING. it's just really really good. and in all honesty, it tastes much better at 2am after a long night of studying or chillin. What you need to order and try: - chicken parm hoagie - so good - steak egg and cheese hoagie with hashbrowns inside - YES. my personal favorite i actually just had a steak egg and cheese w/ hashbrowns for lunch today make sure you ask for hot sauce inside and on the side as well warning: the grill closes around 4am, so certain items you can't order at that time you may wonder who goes here at 4am... but this means you need to study more at night.

The University Market (and Deli) is a really great and cheap convenience store. The best part about University Market (or "Uni Mini" as the local Johns Hopkins students call it) is that it is open 24 hours!! The store is helpful for if you ever need to buy anything late at night, and the deli is great for when you happen to be craving junk food really late in the night... For instance, I got the 8 piece chicken nuggets and the mozzarella sticks. Definitely not the most healthy choice, but very satisfying. I would also recommend trying the "special with hashbrowns" (a sandwich).

I've never had thier subs because they're not Halal as far as I know. They cook ham, bacon and other porkilicious products all on one grill. I get my labneh and Zaatar from here. They also have an isle of other delicious Arab sweets and products, you should check it out.

This was the first and last time I came to this place. I ordered Chicken Parm Hoagie because someone on yelp recommended in reviews. I think this shop is over-rated. I hardly think people who liked its food have ever eaten any anything good. It was 6.99, it was not worth its price, not even close. The chicken was stiff. In one word I was deeply disappointed. If you buy other things in its supermarket, you should really pay extra attention. The cashier didn't even scan the barcode and he was very terrible at calculation. Not to mention he directly wadded and threw away my receipt into trash can when it was printed. They even over-charged me!!! bought one Chicken Parm Hoagie, which was 6.99, a $1.79 Dr. Pepper, and a 1.99 Campbell's soup. They totaled 10.77, but they took me 11.42. I remember so clearly because I did my math before I went to the counter. Since he threw away my receipt without informing, I did not know why. I'm new to US so I thought the over-charged might be the sales tax. But when I got home and looked into mu other purchase receipts, none of them had such a high tax- it was $0.65! Can you believe it?! I'll never go back to this place ever. And I suggest you who usually pay little care to your payment amount and detail be very careful if you must shop there.

This place looks like a garden-variety convenience store, but it has a few gems: unusual offerings that are hard to find anywhere. I bought a huge jar of Lupini beans for a very reasonable price. Score! And they sell big 1-pound bags of Yerba mate (also very cheap)...as well as some middle-eastern spices and supplies. You can even get big boxes of Ma'amoul (date cookies)...mmm....yummy. And these items are all reasonably priced! I recommend peeking your head in here, and actually walking down every aisle. It looks superficially like any other convenience store but there are enough items to set it apart that I think this place is an unusual asset to the area in which it is located.

Nice d00ds behind the counter. Basically a well-needed 24-hour corner shop for anyone. Essentials, snacks and a grill for okayish breakfast/sandwiches and cheapo coffee. [Same review posted for the other branch. I lived in Charles Village and frequented this regularly. Now in Mt Vernon, I frequent this one regularly].

I love that this place is open 24 hours. It makes for a great break from royal farms chicken after being out at the bar. I really love that they offer so many ethnic treats. Being Korean in Baltimore, there are not too many places that sell Korean food in stores. I've seen spicy ramen (Shin Ramen) and packages of dried seaweed. They have sesame crunch bars and ginger gummies. I would recommend going in and really taking a look at what's on the shelves.

24/7 store and they carry Yerba Mate tea and other ethnic foods in their grocery store. Killer selection.

If ever there was a five-star convenience store, this is it. It's open twenty-four hours and it's not sketchy or surreal at all. In addition to all the usual convenience store staples, you can stock up on Middle Eastern delights like tahini or a new hookah! And you have like a 60% chance of spotting the elusive totally stoned Johns Hopkins undergraduate ordering a falafel sub sandwich from the grill. That's right, grill! They make some great hot sandwiches, including breakfast sandwiches, falafel sandwiches, and a really good vegetarian sandwich, the contents of which I cannot really identify though I can testify that it's delicious. (Be forewarned - you are very likely to mistakenly receive a vegetarian "pizza" sandwich by accident. Those are okay too.) The fries are also excellent. My other favorite thing about this place, which I realize will appeal to very few other people, is their selection of Pop-Tarts. They carry the unfrosted brown sugar cinnamon Pop-Tarts, which I love because they are a.) delicious and b.) free of gelatin. They are kind of hard to find, so I love that I can consistently get them here.
