Beautiful little spot, very British and Aussie with the Malt Vinegar on every table. Delightful squash sandwich with goat cheese and my man had the smoked turkey avocado, they were so good we then ordered the curried chicken sandwich, two scones, a mocha and hot chocolate. Delicious. We live in NYC and this will definitely be our go to Baltimore stop.

A daily lunch option. I find myself struggling to pick another place I want to go to. The food and choices are amazing and the staff is super friendly.

The Corner Pantry is a new addition to the Mount Washington / Falls Road area of Baltimore. It went in where one of my favorites, Banksy's Cafe closed. A friend and I were headed up to Towson to meet some friends so we decided to cross another place off of my to-do list and visit The Corner Pantry which I've read rave reviews about. When we walked inside, we were met with trendy and inviting decor, but it was a beautiful day so we decided to eat outside after ordering from the counter. A few weeks prior, I had visited Shoo Fly Diner and loved their biscuit and jam so I decided to order that here. Unfortunately they were already sold out of biscuits for the day (they're all made on the premises) so the girl at the counter suggested a crumpet. The crumpet was light and buttery, and tasted delicious with the jam. Unfortunately I cannot remember what flavor it was. I also ordered the Skinny Egg Sandwich and this was delicious. The sandwich came with scrambled whites, avocado, feta, spinach and caramelized onion on ciabatta. This was a great breakfast sandwich and I really enjoyed the fresh bread that it came on. My friend ordered the Corner Pantry Mac & Cheese. She loved the flavor and the crunch from the breadcrumbs, but wished that the noodles were smaller like they usually are in a mac and cheese. But the cheesy flavor of this dish was on point. To finish up our meal, my friend and I decided to split a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was good, but nothing was particularly special about it. I really enjoyed my visit to The Corner Pantry and I can't wait to go back and try some more of their delicious looking and sounding options.

My only complaint about this spot is that this place is a 15-20 minute drive from my house, because if it was closer I'd be there everyday! I went for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and it was relatively empty but I could see how this place would be packed from open-close any day of the week if it was located in the city. Maybe it being a little out of the way is actually a positive. For lunch I had the Chicken & Waffle BLT and a caramel latte. The chicken was perfectly roasted on the sandwich and the waffle had a perfect crunch to it but still mostly soft on the inside. I can't wait to go back and try out the breakfast menu and some of the house made baked goods!!

Pretty cool. I had the chicken waffle BLT. Waffle was perfectly cooked and the chicken was delicious. My waffle had small pieces of the waffle iron on it which wasn't a big deal at all but when I told the server/cashier you may want to watch out for it, all she said was "got it". Not the best customer service but place was clean, food was tasty enough and convenient location with parking. Parking always a plus! Friendly staff. Will return and I would recommend,

Imagine a place where you can go for an amazing breakfast where the coffee isn't a let down. Or an amazingly quick lunch spot that doesn't cut corners. Or a bakery where the pastries are not only delicious but are also made in house. Congratulations Baltimore, we no longer need to just imagine this. The Corner Pantry on falls road checks all of these boxes and more. I have eaten at some of the best cafes and brunch spots in the area and there is quite literally nothing they offer that this place continues to do better. Practically everything on the menu is locally sourced or made in house. You can not go wrong ordering things from the menu or pastry case. I definitely suggest some of the traditionally British offerings for the change of pace. Whether you are looking for something light or a big weekend brunch this place is a must try.

Love the food. The coronation chicken sandwich is incredible and the soups are also quite delicious. The chocolate chip cookie is worth the hype in the other reviews - it's dangerously goods. We tried one specially donut though, and it was pricey and underwhelming. Here's my issue with the Corner Pantry, and the reason we regularly hit the Starbucks instead: the service is beyond indifferent. My family has been here 4-5 times over the last year (we live close by) and on almost every occasion we've had a bad experience the people working at the counter. Another reviewer described the service as "cool," and that's fair. I've also seen some rudeness, and twice (out of only five visits!) have ordered a coffee, waited 15 minutes and then had it be forgotten. So basically we'll sometimes get takeout from here or maybe a catering platter, but if you're looking for a nice cafe to enjoy lunch with a friend or a pleasant alternative to Starbucks, keep looking...

I had lunch here today, and it was just ok. I think maybe I'd come back for a pastry and a coffee or to try their cold bar, which looked pretty good. I had one of the daily specials - a house cured salmon sandwich, and it was just okay. The salmon portion was generous, and the sprouts were fresh and crunchy, but nothing about the sandwich was particularly great or worth the $9. The chips (crisps, ha) it came with were great, though, crisp and lightly seasoned with salt and vinegar. It's a cute place and there's plenty of parking, and I did want to love it. I might give it another shot in the future since it's close to home and like I said, I have a soft spot for pastries and they've got a nice selection. Service was a bit cool. Perhaps I should put my hipster pants on next time.

This is a really cute little breakfast and pastry cafe with a British theme. We had a crumpet and the skinny egg sandwich, which were both great. The sandwich is perfectly toasted and has egg white, spinach, and avocado. We also had a lemon-cream donut with strawberry glaze. The glaze was too sparse and not sweet enough, and it was too pricey ($3.50). I think they only make donuts on Saturday, and they are different each week. Parking is very convenient; there's a free lot both in front of and behind the store.

Went here for breakfast with the hubby on a Thursday morning. Not too crowded. Nice atmosphere. I had the egg and cheese with bacon on a biscuit and a soy vanilla latte. Coffee was delicious! Biscuit was a little heavy to eat as a sandwich so I just took each component apart and enjoyed individually. My husband had the waffles and a side of sausage. His take: "I liked the sausage. And I liked the waffles. Sausage was not dry." OK, so there you go o_0! We will be back sometime and definitely recommend.

The BEST chocolate chip cookie I have ever had. Hands down. I actually went to visit this spot for the first time this week, and what did I order? The chocolate chip cookie. I hear their other things are delicious also, but I needed to try that cookie again. It is honesty, perfection. I wish they would share their recipe;) I am looking forward to trying their other things, the salad bar looked so beautiful, as did their pastries. The decor is beautiful, and surprised me because their sign is not as beautiful as it could be, it just doesn't match all the lovely elements of their interior, and actually wouldn't have made me want to stop by. But after hearing about, and finally tasting their chocolate chip cookie, I will be back! Also...the doughnuts!!! I have been going every Saturday to taste all of them, different each week! The strawberry with lemon curd was incredible, but my hands down favorite was the peanut butter and jelly, which was absolute perfection.

I figured I would try them out one day last week and went with my boyfriend for dinner. I got the roast beef sandwich and a sausage roll. He chose to do the cold bar - the chipotle chicken legs were too tempting for him to pass up. My sandwich was very good - great flavor, everything was fresh, and it was quick! He thoroughly enjoyed his selections from the cold bar. The sausage roll though... oh my gosh. It's house made sausage and it is amazing!!!! Wonderful flavor and just overall amazing. This morning I decided to stop by and try them out for breakfast. I got a large caramel latte and the egg, sausage, cheddar sandwich. I chose to have the sandwich on a biscuit and was very pleasantly surprised to find it was a cheddar biscuit that is just phenomenal! The latte was quite honestly, the best I've had in a very long time - smooth, creamy, and a perfect blend of flavors. I had been hesitant to try them out because the last two restaurants in that locations were not very good. This place is fantastic!!! Next trip I plan on trying some of the pastries they have. So far, they've only been eye candy.

I am extremely excited to find such a charming, quality cafe nearby my house! My seven year-old son suggested we stop for breakfast and as we entered the front door my day was transformed. Cheddar biscuits, sausage rolls, a cereal bar with gluten-free oats. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with egg white, spinach, feta, and avocado with a Mocha-latte. I've been happy all day. Having lived in New York City, Cape Town, and San Francisco for most of my adult life, I'm particular about food. I can't wait to go on a Friday evening for fish and chips with mushy peas! Homey, classy, real food...yum!

I've been here twice and will definitely be back! It's in the neighborhood I'm moving to and I'm so glad I found it. It's the closest thing to a hipster sandwich shop in this part of the 'burbs and I've loved both sandwiches I've gotten from them so far. Totally plan on being a regular. :)

This was our first time here and we loved it. It's a small place but inside has amazing pastries and breakfast sandwiches! Our kids shared he pancakes and muffin and it was plenty. I got the skinny sandwich with avocado and egg whites and it was amazing! My husband got eggs and bacon and a great biscuit. We all left with full stomachs and will be back!

I like this cafe and forget about all the fantastic choices up this way in Mount Washington. I spend plenty of time in Mt. Washington Village and the surrounding area - I should come up here more. The Corner Pantry is in the Lake-Falls Village, which doesn't exactly feel like a spot for this lovable cafe. The minute you walk in, there is a little bit of a trendy vibe - with the subway tiles and the chalkboard. But, the menu is delightful and extensive. I was really hoping for a breakfast sammich, but they only serve those till 11am; you can still grab a muffin or pastry, but I was hungrier than that. Luckily, there are a ton of choices for lunch - including a build your own salad bar and a bunch of items that change regularly on "the counter" that you pay for by the pound. They can also make your favorite coffee beverage if you need a morning or afternoon pick me up - be sure to ask for a drink loyalty card. I went for the Turkey Sarnie (which they tell ya is British for Sandwhich). It comes all wrapped up and served in a paper bag. Two huge slices of focaccia that are topped with turkey, cheddar, tomato and avocado salsa, and charred jalapeño aioli. With my first bite, I wasn't sure I liked it - it had a funny flavor - I think it was the charred jalapeño. But after bite two, the flavors really blended together and I was sad when I finished it. They also give you a small little bag of salt and vinegar chips; I love fresh kettle cooked chips! So... two more things. How do you not love a place that has a pup dog wearing a crown stamped on the bag? Too cute. And even better than that? They have a sandwich made with waffles as the bread, that they smother with basil mayo, and layer with tons of smoked bacon, roast chicken, julienned romaine and tomato. Is it too soon to go back?

I went for the first time this week. There is plenty of parking. I went in for a carryout breakfast sandwich. And then I saw yummy looking chocolate chip cookies so I came out with both. Who doesn't need a sugar rush at 10am? The service was friendly and helpful. I ordered a skinny breakfast sandwich with egg white, spinach, feta and avocado. The sandwich was more expensive than the typical but then I saw how big it was and its a good deal. The ingredients tasted fresh and the bread was very good. The chocolate chip cookie was big and one of the best I've had. It's $2.50 and you only need half of it. Again, pricey but worth it for a special treat. On my next visit I plan to try a lunch sandwich (and another cookie!).

Two words: tiramisu doughnut. Where have you been all my life? A perfectly soft, glazed doughnut filled with Mascarpone cream and topped with a coffee glaze, which was then dusted with cocoa powder. Tasted exactly like tiramisu but better. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture and then I went back inside to snag one and they were all gone. The smoked turkey sandwich and roasted red pepper sandwich were divine as well. So many unique components, like the pistachio pesto and the jalapeño aioli, I can't list them all. The bread was soft and fluffy and the homemade chips might be the best I've ever had. Can't wait to go back!

Great place close to my house. I was running out of options for lunch places in my area (tired of the same old stuff), but Corner Pantry was an excellent new discovery. The service is fast and friendly, and everything I've had has been delicious.

I feel like if I come back at some point (and I do want to come back) I'll think this place is a 4 but our visit yesterday was pretty solidly a 3. Basically, it was a little expensive, the service left a little to be desired (some employees were very nice, some not so much), and my friend bit into a hard piece of plastic in her salad (which was remade, but not refunded). I wasn't really paying attention to how much things cost so my lunch quickly added up to $22... which isn't horrible, however, $22 for a sandwich (the chicken and waffle BLT), fries, a cookie, and a bottle of water is pretty steep and had it been the best food ever, that would be one thing, but it wasn't. It was good, though. The sandwich was good, but would've tasted substantially better to me had the waffle been a little less soft, and had it been a little more savory in flavor. The roasted chicken, bacon, and sauce were all very good. The fries were EXCELLENT... at $6, it was a pretty big serving so I shared them with the table. The chocolate chip cookie was good. There were a lot of delicious looking options, from take-away meals to pastries (things like cookies and blondies and also British dishes like pasties and sausage rolls, etc.). They all looked awesome. There's a cold bar with a several things... yesterday, they had a salmon dish, grilled peaches, and a few other items. They also had a salad bar (set up like Nalley Fresh where they build the salad, not you). The space is much more clean and open than it was when it was Banksy's and there's several more outside tables set up. We got there right at 12 and were able to easily get a table, but it filled up a bit after that. Not a perfect first visit, but good enough that there will be a second at some point. This place also rounds out what is now a pretty good variety of restaurant options at Lake and Falls.

A unique gem of a little cafe! We had sandwiches on yummy, soft ciabatta bread. Mine was the smoked turkey, which was piled with avocado, fresh lettuce, and a spicy aioli. Indulge in a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. One of the best, if not the best, chocolate chip cookie I've had. Full of big chunks of high-quality chocolate and baked to perfection.

Very cute cafe with an eclectic mix of food options--not your usual lunch/cafe fare. I spotted it on the way to The Ivy last week, and wanted to try it. I also needed a spot to take my folks when they got into town this weekend; they'd been on a plane since the wee hours, skipping time zones, and another 40 minute trip on the light rail will make you hungry. We popped in before the lunch rush and from the cold bar, I got a plate of amazing couscous with golden raisins and olives (what a great combo!), salmon, asparagus with Parmesan shavings, and a sweet potato salad. Ma got the tomato-creme bisque. I got coffees for my mom and I, added a cherry-lemon scone, and a cookie. Then I added on a plate of Texas taco-shack style chicken tacos (my dad loved the spicy aioli). I think we ate for about $45 and it was the perfect amount of food. The cookie was totally amazing; it had flakes of chocolate inside and the three of us shared it. It was a great way to start their visit, and super convenient to the Falls Road Light Rail station. So glad we stopped in! Everyone who was working was super friendly too, very conversational and charming. Last but not least, they had a little bowl of water for pups outside, which melts my heart a little because I have 2 dog babes. A great addition to the area!

If you're looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner LOOK NO FURTHER! Breakfast- I don't know how they do it but every time I go in there for coffee, I come out with a homemade pop-tart (or two), a biscuit, or one of their delicious breakfast sandwiches (usually the skinny egg sandwich). They are fast, so friendly, and the results make for a great start to the day. Lunch- I've only ever had the salad bar, but I have never had the same salad twice! Everything is customized to order which allows you to try either a go-to salad or a creative culinary experience! Dinner- Honestly? Everything I've had or my friends have had has been nothing short of delicious. I like to try their specials which change but always leave me wanting more!! This place is great for meeting with friends or for a family outing. Great find for good food.

I've been intrigued by this place ever since they covered their windows with their adorable crown wearing bulldog logo as they remodeled the former Bansky's Cafe space. I was then even more excited for it to open after seeing a post on their Facebook page about a pomegranate and rosemary scone and braised chickpeas - sounds fantastic, right? I will say that another visit is in order to fully appreciate what this place has to offer now having the knowledge of their afternoon tea, made to order items, and a better feel for the flow of the cafe. I went in not really knowing what to expect, and honestly, I don't think the staffer had much of a clue either. Granted, it was only their 4th day of business, and he was incredibly friendly, but not exactly helpful in describing how the cafe is set up or what the different baked goods were in front of me. For example, I was instantly drawn to the corner display of bakery items upon walking in. When I asked for a run down of what they were, he described the two most obvious - a chocolate chip cookie and chocolate chip muffin - and went on to point out a pop tart (great, what's in it?), a "biscuit thing" (which I suggested to him as being the pomegranate scone) and then he grabbed a menu and said everything was listed on there. For someone who was just trying to get an idea of the takeaway items, I found the menu difficult to read, because muffins/scones/etc. were on one side (again, no description of the kind) while the mini pizzas and cold bar were on the other. After I had finally made my decision, a second customer walked in and I overheard the chef/owner talk her through the cold bar, the to go items in the back refrigerator, the coffee section, and so on. *humph* As for the food, I walked away with a container of the braised chickpeas, a pomegranate and rosemary scone (but you didn't see that coming, right?) and a mini pizza. I thought the chickpeas were delicious - hearty and flavorful with just the right amount of heat - the staff did mention that they kitchen had tweaked the spice level recipe from the day prior, so I appreciate that they are learning as they go. It was perfect for a chilly evening. The mini pizza wasn't quite what I expected. It almost looked more like a bagel, considering how thick it was, and the dough was actually quite sweet. As for the scone, I wanted to love it more than I did. It was perfectly made - nice crust encasing soft, fluffy insides - but the pomegranate seeds are so delicate in flavor that it got lost between the buttery dough and hits of rosemary. I also wish there was perhaps an option to pick up some clotted cream and/or jam to enjoy it with. Just my humble opinion. I'm chalking this up to opening kinks and look forward to writing about a perfect second experience.

Very friendly service! Picked up lunch for myself and 2 workmates. They both had the roast beef sandwich - 1 had this sandwich for the first time last week and after eating it at home, she called the restaurant to tell them how much she loved the sandwich. Comes with a little packet of homemade chips. My other friend ordered it on wheat bread and thought the amount of roast beef really overwhelmed the sandwich. I created my own salad with salmon (upcharge), fennel, tomatoes and cucumbers. You pick your bowl of greens from the frig - either mixed or kale. The mixed greens were very fresh and tender. The salmon needed seasoning. The citrus vinaigrette was a bit out of balance and I'm glad I had it on the side. Also had a cup of curried parsnip and apple soup, which was pretty good. Came with soft bread slices. Friend and I each had a chocolate chip cookie. It's a great size cookie but a tad overdone I think and somehow just not as delicious as it looks.

This is a very quaint little gem. The staff seems very friendly and knows their regular customers by name and order. They have an amazing yoghurt bar that is to die for. And to top it all off, I had the most amazing egg white sandwich with avocado, and a kale compote. For this trip to MD this will be the regular breakfast spot for the next few days!!

Went for dinner tonight and even though they were out of the weekly special (not a problem since it was less than one hour before closing for the holiday weekend) the lobster salad they offered to make the salad with lump crabmeat instead. What a great choice and such a wonderful and refreshing summer salad. Breakfast today of a crumpet and jam was divine. The scones... I don't even know where to begin each time I get a scone the staff asks if I would like butter. they are so delightfully buttered why would I need to add more butter... a little jam adds just the right amount of sweetness.

Speaking of English food, Jacques Chirac famously remarked, "One cannot trust people whose cuisine is so bad." Jacques Chirac has never eaten at the Corner Pantry. Meat and 2 veg plates this is not. If all English food was this good, the former President of France would have joked, "One cannot trust people whose cuisine is so good." The smoothies are fabulous. You've never had an authentic English muffin before you had one here. They're nothing like Thomas's. Crumpets and scones and biscuits and breads are baked in house. Each visit finds some new, inventive salad and sandwich (sarnies) on the menu. The owner/chef Neil is always there making sure the food is fresh and the service fast and friendly. Check them out for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner.

Soooooo many places have come and gone in this spot. Could this be the one that stays? Quite possibly. I stopped here for lunch the other day and got the ham and brie sandwich. I was curious because it is served with apples and honey mustard, which is normal enough, on a raisin bread of some sort - not the usual type of bread, and I wondered what it would be like. It was great! The price tag is a bit high for a casual place, but they use very good quality ingredients. The ham was thinly sliced just how I like, and I think they put a lot of thought into the menu and where to source their food. I also liked the handmade potato chips that came with the sandwich. They were flavored with something I think, not sure what, but very tasty. I would go back again.

This place is the physical manifestation of awesome sauce. Crumpets? Scones? Bangers and mash? This isn't your pub version-- this is the scrubbed up, upscaled and lightened version you bring home to your parents. But the cheese biscuits are rich and decadent and terribly naughty. This place also feels super healthy - a boon to the frazzled and bedraggled. I almost always get the Pimm's, their play on the famous beverage. It's kale plus fennel plus other veggies all juiced and delicious in a cup. Their chicken and waffle sandwich is SO GOOD. Roasted chicken, fresh-to-order waffle with a light mayo sauce that is the genius element bringing these flavors together. Not even frying the chicken could improve its profile (which I never say). They make a different donut each Saturday. One time it was maple bacon. Another, it was jelly-filled. This past, it was peanut butter chocolate as well as lavender honey. The donuts are beautiful. And they have sturdy coffee to slurp them up with. Between Bonjour/Haute dog, Yog, Tropicool (the best soft serve), Pepe's and now this place at the end of the cute shopping strip, this one corner of Baltimore satisfies almost all of your noshing needs.

I stumbled upon this cafe and boy is it cute. The decor is a perfect blend of French American chic with the stainless steel bar, pastries, and antiqued chairs. The staff is welcoming and enjoyable, not to mention the tall scruffed handsome chef was not bad to look at either. I ordered the mango lassie smoothie and sausage stuffed pastry. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the smoothie which almost entirely lacked the pineapple and mango flavors, nor was it entirely cold. The sausage stuffed pastry was pretty well developed, although it could use some tweaking. The pastry was nice and fluffy, the sausage was pleasantly herbed, and the barbecue sauce it was paired with definitely made it memorable, but it could use a bit more cheese to hold it together and it could have used a couple more seconds in the warmer as it was lukewarm in the center. The menu is pleasing to the eye but the specialties would benefit from some explanation as to what exactly they are. All and all, I definitely will be returning to try some other menu items and enjoy the atmosphere soon.

The Counter staff was less than informative. The egg, cheese and sausage breakfast sandwich wasn't available because they were out of sausage, and perhaps didn't feel like putting cheese on it. UNFORTUNATELY they didn't tell me any of this, I discovered it when I opened it back at my office. Even MORE UNFORTUNATE, they didn't tell me when I called and asked for the sandwich I actually wanted, they waited until I drove back a second time (through Falls Rd school traffic) to pick up my order to tell me they were out of sausage so they had made the first one with bacon instead. I guess they felt no need to communicate this. In fairness, the owner came out and apologized and probably would have given me my money back, but I had already spent enough time not getting what I wanted and was completely done with the place, so I walked out before my head exploded.

On this extremely cold snow day, my mom and I stopped in for a German-style, mid-afternoon"Kaffee und Kuchen" (coffee and cake), and we were not disappointed. She ordered a hot chocolate, which was topped with a decadent homemade marshmallow. I had a delicious cappuccino that was quite smooth, not bitter at all. We shared a berry "pop tart" that was citrus-y and flaky, and that complemented our drinks perfectly. We will definitely be back soon! Can't wait to try some more of their baked goods.

I'm pleasantly surprised. I didn't know the cafe was here. However i enjoyed salmon and a few tasty sides from the salad bar. Seating outside. I like that the foods seem fresh made and the variety. It's my a wide variety BUT it's just enough to be satisfied with whatever you select. The food is tasty. If come back.

My husband and I stopped by at this very convenient site and had a wonderful lunch with friendly service. He had a tuna with capers on wheat toast and I had the roasted red pepper with pesto. Both were beautifully served and very fresh tasting. To top off our lunch, we had a delicious blueberry scone and the best cup of hot chocolate in the entire region. We can't wait to go back to try other items on the menu. I would highly recommend this cafe that is a welcome addition to the Falls Road corridor.

Homemade British specialties and so much more! My boyfriend and I had a great morning pick me up at the Corner Pantry. I had a crumpet ($3 with jam&butter) and Acai smoothie bowl ($7) while my boyfriend had the sausage&egg on cheddar biscuit ($7) and the autumn sunrise fresh juice ($7). My favorite was the warm crumpet.
