I would advise doing carry out as you'll get faster service that way. The jerk chicken meal is delicious comes with cabbage, rice, and plaintains. I always ask for the jerk chicken sauce as sometimes the chicken can be dry and that's where all he flavor is. Beef patties are better than the chicken patties

My first time having Jamaican cuisine it was quite delicious with the right amount of seasoning and not too salty. The staff was very friendly

Went in for lunch. With only 3 other people in the restaurant, nobody came to take our order for about 15 minutes. We got up and left.

I'm not so sure about this place. Came in to get a carryout order and it is taking forever to even be acknowledged. And I waited. Well I will never even know what the food taste like. First impression is everything. It was rather late but if you are bartenders and order takers you shoukd be friendky to everyone. Not be so into conversations with other customers that you ignore a new customers The music in the basement seemed to be pumping but if you can't even get your order took there is no need to ask anything about this business. I will take my business where I can be greeted with ac warm welcome and feel like my business is wanted :-( :-(

Solid West Indian cuisine. There's not a thing fancy about this place, but the food is good. It can sometimes take a few minutes to check out, even if you previously order, but it doesn't happen often enough to warrant no longer frequenting.. I've tried: The Oxtails: Pretty good. Not as spicy as I would have liked, but pretty good nonetheless. The rice & peas are standard also, as is the cabbage. Beef Patty: Not the best I've had, but it will do. It tastes almost identical to the frozen "Golden Krust" brand that you can buy at Dollar Tree. Price point is reasonable also. There's a full service bar here as well as a second floor that apparently comes alive on the weekends. I have yet to check it out though.

Took way too long to be acknowledged and even longer to get my food. The food was not impressive at all and neither were the drinks.

The food was alright. The jerk chicken was overly peppery and not as moist. I didn't really like it. The oxtails were not cooked long enough because they were tough; additionally, they were small and had more fat than meat. The cabbage wasn't seasoned. The plantains were good. I won't be returning to waste any more money.

Food is super salty! We got the curry goat and the jerk chicken. The First time I went, it was not bad, but this second time was not so good.

St. Mary's is nothing to look at but the food is so good, you probably won't even notice. The jerk chicken was spicy, fall-off-the bone tender, and finished off with a slightly sweet sauce to counteract the heat. The platter came with rice and beans and cabbage -- authentic and delicious. Portions are huge, prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back to sample the curry.

    1. The food was ok, the chicken was salty and the veggies lacked seasoning. 2. The service could have been much better 3. They only let you eat the larger portions for dine in (anything smaller than a large you must take out). 4. They didn't have all the items on the menu available-the waitress checked prior to me ordering and said they had the item and come to find out they didn't then tried to charge me extra when they asked if I wanted to substituted for another item that they did have after I already paid for my whole order. 5. The beef patty was good 6. I won't be going there anymore.

I have placed a couple of orders from St Marys and all in all its solid. I do have my go to Jamaican restaurant but that is located in the county. This is about a block from me so just in case i need to get my Jamaican swerve on. What i have tried... Beef patties- Ok, i have come to the conclusion that Negril and Tashes make the best of these if anybody else let me know.. Jerk Chicken- Very Spicy and good just how i want it, and portion sizes and price you cant beat that. Curry Chicken- Curry Chicken was fine, not the best i have had but decent nonetheless. Brown Stew Chicken- Wasnt a fan.. it was the least that i liked out of the three. Rum Punch- Very good drink and packs a punch. All in all solid not stellar place, will try oxtail and others next. Price and portion wise you cant beat it.

Great authentic Jamaican food. The portions are pretty large so we normally split an entree and get a beef patty. The mixed drinks are served in a pint glass and are super cheap. The curry goat and oxtail are my favorites. The interior is no frills so going with just the expectation of great food and little else is suggested.

The veggie patties are the best I've ever had. The only reason I'm giving them four instead of five stars is because they are hard to come by! I wish they were always available.

I bought the oxtail, bean and rice. The meals there are consistently good. Lots of food. The price are also great compared to Washington D.C, where oxtail can cost up to $16 . Service is okay nothing spectacular. In all good place to get a meal

Had the oxtail which was good but there was some issue with my portion. The employee who plated my food gave me less than a full portion and when I tried speaking to him he refused to even engage. Luckily there was another employee there who took a look at my plate and agreed that I didn't receive a full portion. I want what I pay for. I'm not asking for any special treatment. Work on your customer relations, guys.

I have tried a few Caribbean restaurants and haven't been pleased so I ended up at this place when some family stopped in town. The stew chicken was very tasty, the Oxtails was good, tender and seasoned well. The curry chicken can use a little more spices, a tad bit pepper (curry needs pepper). The atmosphere was nice actor the seating area and the restrooms were clean according to my aunt & uncle.

Great Jerk chicken. Nice prices. Clean. Good size portions. Every since I tried the Jerk chicken here I haven't been anywhere else. The atmosphere is very laid back great parties on weekends and a very nice staff. This is a must try for an tone reading this trust me you won't be sorry

Omg.... huge and amazingly yummy portions. We could have Very easily split either the roti or the goat curry entrée (both piled HIGH) but ordered both and could not finish it all. Really authentic flavors and seasoning. If there are two of you start off by splitting an entree. Both the jerky chicken and goat curry were just perfect .

Superb! The food is amazingly authentic. Portions are huge, the menu prices are right on target. As a certified foodie, I strongly recommend... You will be so happy you did. I had the oxtails and jerk chicken, delicious.

Fantastic, eyes-watering, nose-running, mouth-burning jerk chicken here. The curry chicken is also great, as are the buffalo wings - though the sauce comes on the side for buffalo wings, for some reason. This place is authentic, bones-in-the-chicken, everything-except-the-sauce-is-a-bland-prop food. You will not be disappointed.

This food is absolutely amazing! It is addictive! The food is so consistent. It tastes heavenky every time . It's as though they are cooking for their lives. It is hands down the best west indian food in all of maryland

I've been struggling to find good Caribbean food in Baltimore, but no longer! What everyone else says is true. The portions are large, the jerk chicken is flavorful and spicy, and the sides are fresh. The people working there when I went in were very nice, laid back, and helpful. Check it out!

I have always wanted to try jerk chicken but i have never known a good place to go to get my first try. Today i happened to stumble across a gift from heaven! St. Marys was amazing! i was headed to drop a friend off at penn station but we decided to grab a bite to eat first when we ran across St. Marys. I had the jerk chicken platter and they had the broiled taliapia. both of us were surprised beyond belief at how god everything was. the platter came with rice and peas(kidney beans) and cabbage. the jerk spice was very flavorful, it had a great taste and the heat kicked in after us taste the seasons that were used. the chicken was cooked perfectly and was tender to the touch. the portions were very hardy and you will not leave full. both of our meals and drinks came to only $22.36!! great food, great service, and great prices, considered going back tonight but it was after 12 unfortunately, its a must try. enjoy!

St Mary's 1st floor is a peaceful place to eat WELL. Upstairs is the party floor only open for event nights, with karaoke, dj, jokes, full bar with a good amount of harder-to-find Caribbean brands. I lived in Jamaica for a while, and am feeling the laid back, yet on-point attitude as soon as you step inside.

A hidden gem! I have lived in the area for 5 years and never bothered to stop in... I am so glad that I finally did. I personally think the food is better than the caribbean place in Waverly. The jerk chicken is crispy and very spicy, and the curry goat is super tender. It's not the fanciest place in the world, but you can cozy up to the bar or get take out and pretend like you are in a secret low-key neighborhood joint in the Caribbean. Plus you can get beer for takeout!

i reallly wanted to like this place. my neighbors love the ox tail stew. i tried the jerk chicken platter. the chicken was loaded with bones making eating a chore. the chicken hadn't been marinated, merely cooked and then coated in a sugary dark brown sauce. it was missing acidity. it wasn't over cooked, though. the steamed cabbage was just that. steamed cabbage with no flavor. plantains were advertised and i only got two small slices of plantain (which tasted great!) it also came with rice and beans which was about 50% of the plate. bland and overcooked. i'm hoping i went on an off day.
