Adorable little cafe that I hit the other day for brunch with a friend before I got back on a plane to leave town. Because I knew it would probably be 8 hours til I had another real meal again, I opted for the Brie and crimini mushroom omelet with green onions, though that cinnamon roll pancake stack was calling my name. The omelet was good, but not as magical as it sounded on paper. I do think a couple things could help this: one would be seasonings. Another would be to put the green onions in later in the omelet making process, as by the time it got to me they weren't even visible. Green onions shouldn't be so overcooked that they are no longer green. I think if they'd still been crunchy, they would have stood up to the Brie better. Fortunately, I had some excellent southern creamy cheesy grits that melted in my mouth with each bite and a delightful multigrain toast to make up for how underwhelmed I was by the omelet. My friend quite enjoyed his risotto Benedict, and I'd likely go with the florentine or previously mentioned pancakes next time. The coffee was a tad bitter but fixable with milk. Atmosphere was great, place was pretty quiet on a Thursday morning. Our waiter was super friendly but was caught up with an involved coffee order when we needed to pay, so fortunately we were able to flag someone else down. He got us boxes and even iced coffees to go since we were in a rush to get to jobs and catch planes. Side note: for early breakfast, we were able to park easily right out front before the meters even started charging (not til 10 I think).

Excellent food, this is the kind of place where stuff on the menu sounds interesting, but when the food comes it always exceeds your expectations. They just seem to have a knack for way above average skills in the kitchen. I've had several different eggs Benedict, the lemon quinoa pancakes, breakfast burrito - all terrific. They serve zekes coffee, that's as good as it gets in Baltimore. Don't go if you're short on time; the service is really erratic...sometimes it's good but other days really weak.

Its pretty crowded on the weekend.. First time I had the o-nuts, fried chicken biscuit and breakfast potatoes. O-nuts are spoons take on beignets with cinnamon added to them. They were delicious. My second time in I wanted more O-nuts this trip but they ran out. I had a chopped salad which was really good. I would have liked my dressing on the side as requested but things happen. The service was pretty good. I like how they can text you when your table is ready, a tip is to go really early or closer to after lunch. Less crowded and wait time. A great brunch spot! Mimosas are now 4.00. Which is still pretty good.Pear is the way to go. You can get a carafe for 17.00

Great service, delicious green tea, and the 3B Burger is worth every penny. Beef, pulled pork and bacon bits combine with an egg in a glorious symphony of deliciousness! You must Get the 3B burger!

Outstanding biscuit and gravy. Love the new interior it had been years since I was at Spoons

Finally checked out Spoons for lunch and really enjoyed the steak gorgonzola panini, but only after they were out of burgers (really?).. The panini was very tasty, served on crusty baguette-type bread and not greasy at all, like I was betting it would be. With thin slices of perfectly cooked steak and creamy mild gorgonzola, it really was a perfect combination of flavors with sautéed peppers and onions as well. Paired with a Heavy Seas pilsner and mixed greens on the side, it was very satisfying. Service can be a bit slow during their busier times, so be warned that you may need to flag your server down for the check. They are usually friendly though!

There was a wait so we sat at the bar (not a bad sign!) My family came for breakfast, and it was good! I am only reviewing my meal, which was the Wafflewich. It was delicious! I love chicken & waffles and this was very similar! The mimosas were also great, especially at 4 bucks a pop, I really enjoyed the strawberry lemonade one, but I tried the OJ mimosa, and sips of the Grapefruit Thyme mimosa and Peach Sunrise Bellini. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast/brunch.

I often frequent this saving grace of Fed-Hill as it is one of my favorite spots to grab coffee, breakfast. or brunch at. They put great twists on classic favorites, such as a risotto benedict or cinnamon roll pancakes. Truthfully, the cinnamon roll pancakes are my favorite, maybe even one of the best foods on this planet. I recomend anyone who has not ordered them to do it ASAP with a side of some of Spoons wonderful lattes or coffee. Really, the only reason I do not give this place 5 stars is its location. Federal hill is where people 5 years out of college go and pretend to be 21 again. This results in long waits for a table and some of the dirtiest streets you will see in baltimore. If you go late on a Sunday morning, you will immediately see what I mean as groups of people do the walk of shame past Spoons. Luckily, the food and coffee makes up for the crowd. Try Spoons out!

I can only speak for the brunch. There was a small wait for a table for two, once we were seated we ordered mimosa's and browsed the menu. The mimosa's were good, nice and strong. I had the fried chicken on a biscuit and the lady had the chipped beef over toast. The honey butter that came with the chicken biscuit was amazing. Then I mixed it with hot sauce and it was even better! The chipped beef was super good, but she only let me have one bite...all in all, when I'm in Fed Hill this will be my go to brunch spot.

The server was super nice. She seemed a little frazzled, but it was a Saturday morning and I'm sure she had been super busy. Obviously understandable. I got the huevos rancheros. They were great. A little too mild for my taste, but they have a great hot sauce on the table. Also, the coffee is the best. It's strong and dark, how coffee should be. Don't expect some weak coffee crap. Four stars bc the prices were steep for food that wasn't huge. But I was full. Honestly, I'll be back !

Are you looking for a local brunch spot whose vaguely hipster vibe will give you that tingly self-satisfied feeling every time you bring your out-of-town friends there? Do you want quinoa and bacon in your pancakes without breaking the bank? Is your Instagram feed thirsty for filtered pics of "Bennies & Mimosassssss" ? Then look no further than Spoons Cafe. From bizarre art on the walls to an old, messy guy scribbling notes about what may or may not be his next novel, Spoons provides the perfect breakfast-only atmosphere. Pros: the hip servers are a really cool mix of friendly and idgaf, so you never feel annoyed by their presence but you also don't feel threatened by their mustaches and joggers. I recommend the maple-glaze bacon-Infused pancakes (really great for inducing jealousy via snapchat). Cons: the cold brew coffee is delicious but more expensive than Starbucks (which, like, if you're a *real* coffee person, isn't even that good). This can also be a pro, though, because your friends will ALL know you're drinking expensive cold brew coffee. Also, they don't have a liquor license. Hope this helps. (I know how hard it can be to find a brunch place where your servers have septum piercings AND care about the service.) Happy brunching!

Last day on vacation and we decided to try Spoons. So glad we did! A party of five walking in and it took us less than 15 mins to be seating. I really enjoyed a glass of cold brew while we waited for our breakfast. Everyone enjoyed their meal from the cinnamon roll pancakes to omelette to chicken and waffles. Everything was DELICIOUS! The grits were great as well. Creamy and buttery! If we ever come back to Baltimore, we'll be back to Spoons :)

I met my husband at Spoons six years ago, so when we were in town recently for a Yankees/O's game, we returned to Spoons to celebrate our second anniversary as a married couple. Since 2010, Spoons has undergone a renovation. The red couch where we first met is no longer there, and has been replaced with more tables. The entrance has moved in order to accommodate more tables--a smart move in my opinion. In addition, a bakery counter has been extended to include a eat-in bar area. When we arrived at 10 am or so, Spoons was already hopping. We were told that the wait would be about 45 minutes. However, the bar area was open seating and we were able to grab a table after about 5 minutes of waiting. The coffee was delicious. I ordered my favorite dish--the 2-2-2, and it was just as good as remembered. The plates on which the food is served appear to be bargain basement dishes, which was a little disappointing. However, service was good and everything was delicious. Spoons holds a special place in my heart for obvious reasons, and it's great to see that Spoons is still a successful brunch spot in the heart of Fed Hill.

This is a special breakfast spot with an awesome menu. Top notch coffee bar and definitely not diner food. The service has always been great for us too - very speedy even given the busy nature of the restaurant. Food wise, the crunchy French toast is my favorite breakfast item but they have great omelets too. The only reason it doesn't get a perfect rating is because there is almost always a wait on Sundays, and they don't take reservations.

So I do love this place for breakfast...we come pretty regularly but the one problem I have is that it's inconsistent. I always get the same thing...huevos verdes and last time I went my eggs were scrambled? It's usually over easy and when I asked the server he said well unless you specify that's how it comes. Not like it's a big deal but if I need to specify how I want my eggs please put it on the menu so I know next time. This is a breakfast place no?? He did offer to take it back but since this place does get packed sometimes and it takes awhile to get your food. And the food runner...Not sure who she was but wow she looked like she hated her job and wasn't very friendly. It almost seems as if the establishment has a problem with staffing.

On a street where most of the restaurants are bars, its nice to find one place that is open first thing in the morning! I felt strange walking on Cross St before 9am on a Saturday also because it was deserted! Spoons is a small breakfast restaurant the width of two row homes. Due to their small seating area the wait can be quite lengthy especially as it gets later in the morning. I got the 2-2-2 (2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, & 2 pancakes). I am very particular about my eggs (its a texture thing) and they were cooked perfectly! As was the bacon, just crispy enough but not too crispy where it would shatter if I dropped it on the plate. I definitely recommend Spoons for a casual breakfast with a friend (not enough room for groups) and suggest getting there early!

This one goes out to the owner. Had the pleasure of first driving out of my way to come patronize your establishment and then paying for parking before being refused service in your restaurant thirty four minutes before your closing time last Wednesday, July 16 at 1:26pm. Immediately upon entering the restaurant, before being able to even look for a seat, an Asian woman behind the coffee bar said "We're all done for today, sorry!" I said that there appeared be be lots of patrons around and asked when they closed, she said two pm. I said "and it's over thirty minutes before that." She responded "yeah, but we had a really busy day so I'm just calling it right now, we're already cleaned up and I can't make you anything." I said "I only wanted coffee," she said "Sorry." At this comment, a patron already sitting at the bar scoffed at her and then looked over to me and said "that's rediculous," and I responded "so, let me get this straight. You are turning away business?" She just starred at me, and I said "well I came to have coffee and use the wifi to work, so since I already paid for parking I'll just stay and use your wifi until you close." She looked at me very rudely as if I was crazy, or some kind of theif making her work harder than she should have to. I was so irritated by her actions that I decided to leave anyway... I'd hate to let people walking by see the place filled with patrons and associate it with being an appreciative establishment. I pray that she is not a manager.

I've eaten at Spoons a few times, mainly if I am meeting a friend to get some work done or if someone else wants to go there for breakfast. It's not necessarily the first place I think of for breakfast (especially when there are so many great places to eat breakfast in the Federal Hill area). My biggest gripe with Spoons is the price. I feel that most everything on the menu is way over-priced. ($7 for a breakfast sandwich?!) The food is good, though. I've had the eggs benedict and the greasy spoon and enjoyed both of them. As for the coffee, I'll agree with earlier posts- the coffee isn't GREAT coffee but I feel that it is competitive for the area (better than Dunkin Donuts or 7-Eleven). I also wish that Spoons remained open later at night for those of us seeking to get some work done outside of our house. This area doesn't have any places for that, so I often need to travel to a library for late-night work.

This is an excellent brunch place! I finally found a brunch spot where I feel like my money is worth spending. Lots of times, I feel like it's pointless to charge an ommelette $10 or so if you can just make it yourself with eggs. I had the eggs Benedict with risotta and proscuitto. It was so good, but so rich at the same time. Next time, i'd try their other benedicts without the risotta because that was too rich for me. But the flavor and the home fries were really delicious! Their sandwiches and paninis are also really good. My boyfriend got some kind of chicken and avocado sandwich and loved it. I can't wait to go back there when I'm in MD!

I've been here a few times while getting my oil change at Firestone down the street. I bring a book, order a coffee, and no one really bugs me until I'm ready to leave. I've also had the croque madame and the chili mac skillet. Both were tasty but nothing to write home about.

Food is good but very expensive. The family that owns it is very nice. If you get the Asian female waitress, ask for someone else. She's incompetent and has a nasty attitude. Try the risotto Benedict, very good. They also have real maple syrup for an up charge.

It's funny how the smallest things can form your entire opinion about a restaurant. I stopped into Spoons for lunch, had their Chicken Black Bean Wrap which was very tasty but a horrible mess that dripped juice everywhere and made the wrap soggy. i ate it with a fork and left the tortilla. However, I was charged $3.20 for a glass of iced tea! When I asked what was so special about the tea, the response was "that's just the price in the register". It's a simple thing, but $3.20 for iced tea will keep me from returning.

I wish a could give a 3.5 star ranking--somewhere between "A-OK." and "Yay! I'm a fan." We went for brunch and were pleased with the quality - the risotto eggs benedict is a great take on the classic and was prepared well (perfect poached eggs, right portion size, pretty plating), the regular coffee and the pumpkin latte were delicious, and the mimosas were tasty and a great price. Liked the cozy, friendly-yet-chic ambiance as well. What pulls it down into 3 stars instead of 4 is the slow service. Our servers (we had several throughout the course of the meal) were all super friendly, but it took a while to get noticed for a coffee refill, and we just didn't feel "attended to" in general. This is definitely an area that Spoons can improve upon.

Been to Spoons for Sunday breakfast-brunch three times now, so it's high time to rate! Food has been consistently good overall... wifey usually gets corn flake battered french toast, which is good and plentiful. I've had eggs, pancakes & french toast on varying occasions, and all have been at least above average. Prices are so-so at best. Real good coffee and big cups o' tea with BIG tea bags. Service mostly pretty good, though memory method w orders did lead to issues our first time there. Wish they offered scrapple!

I went there with my family for my birthday on a Sunday morning before a baseball game. While the place was packed they were able to seat a party of 6 immediately and get us drinks. The food was excellent. Slightly whimsical (I had the Raven's Nest - take on toad in a whole) and yummy. Service was good. The waiter did forget a mimosa, but he got it right away when we reminded him. Otherwise everything came quickly and accurately. I enjoyed our brunch and would certainly go back again.

Love this quaint little federal hill spot along cross street! I started coming here on Sunday mornings while my DD is in Sunday School. I"ve only had the coffees, but the food sure does look good! The place is hoppin' esepcially for Sunday morning brunch, but I always get a seat the bar. Baristas are friendly and make your drink to order topping it off with a little latte art. LOVE IT!

I always enjoy stopping off here for breakfast whenever I go to Federal Hill. Excellent menu choice and the coffee is out of this world. The staff is very good and attentive. The pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Love Spoons! My Wife and 2-year old Son come here about twice a month for breakfast and can honestly say it's one of the places that makes living in Baltimore great. I love places where people seem to care and remember who you are and that's what we find at Spoons. Lattes are on point and the food never disappoints. It is on the pricier side but almost everywhere in Federal Hill is unfortunately. That being said we usually get the Eggs Benedict on Risotto and can't have it enough. The Beignets are also a great start to the meal with coffee. A couple of people do complain about the service and yes sometimes you don't get stuff right away but they are nothing but courteous and I can always overlook slow service when the waiters are as polite as they are. Sunday Brunch gets crowded so come a early or expect to wait about 20 minutes.

Came here for a Sunday breakfast, and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere! It was early in the morning, so we got to pick where we wanted to sit. The service was relaxed, and we didn't feel hurried to finish eating. We got some eggs and toast, bacon and some french toast with Nutella. it was all delicious! They leave a glass bottle of water, so you can fill up as needed. I'd definitely go back if I was in the area.

I really enjoyed going back to Spoons. I had went their two years ago with a friend and felt that when I returned this weekend the quality had remained the same. The atmosphere is that of a coffee house rather than a normal breakfast eatery, but gives it a cool artsy vibe. I would highly recommend their lemongrass orange green tea and multi-grain bread. There's nothing better than a great breakfast to get your day started.

I've been here several of times just for coffee, so I can't comment on the food. It is definitely a hipster hang-out. I think there is a day care center upstairs, so don't be surprised to hear little feet running around above you. My most recent stop was with a friend of mine who just couldn't make up her mind on what kind of java juice to order. The cool thing was, not only were they patient and suggested all kinds of alternatives for her, the coffee had some cool patterns in it. Drinkable art. Other than the kiddies banging on the ceiling, it is a nice place to stop and have a conversation with friends.

A friend introduced me to this spot recently, and I have to say that I'm a fan! What an adorable little spot for lunch and coffee. I love the earthy feel of it! There were lots of healthy choices for lunch. I had the spinach salad, and it was stellar! The coffee was tasty, and I won't lie- I would come back for the cute little pattern in the foam alone :)

I wish I could give 4.5 stars. I feel like I've really missed out, because I've lived here 5 years and this is the first time I've been to Spoons for breakfast. It may be because they're nestled in between all of the college bars on Cross st, and if you look in the front window, it looks like a coffee shop-I never thought they'd have more than pastries. I went because they're the only place around that's open early that has good reviews. I had crunchy french toast and added bananas and chocolate; you could also get various berries and other things on the french toast and pancakes. It was very impressive, with a fairly large serving and pretty plating. More importantly, it was delicious. The corn flakes were brilliant and contrasted perfectly with the custardy french toast. I didn't even use syrup because the melted chocolate and bananas were the perfect amount of sweetness and the toast wasn't dry despite being crunchy on the outside. The coffee was great, nice and robust; the mixed drink, Ruby slipper was so-so...I don't think ice belongs in champagne drinks: it kills all the bubbles, so next time I'll just get coffee, or one of their coffee drinks. My husband went with the Pulled Pork benedict, and that was also fantastic and more creative than what you get at some of the other brunch places. He also had a Bloody Mary Geisha something-he liked it. I want to go back and try the Fried Green Tomatoes Benedict and some of the other items that I saw other people eating, but I'll have a very hard time not ordering the french toast again. I could eat it again for lunch.

I'm reviewing Spoons as a coffee shop, not a brunch restaurant. The coffee is superb. They use good beans, the baristas are skilled, and the drinks are properly proportioned. If you order a latte you get a very good espresso drink in a real mug. Unlike, say, Starbucks were you get warm milk in a paper cup with a hint of coffee. I'll admit I'm a coffee snob and I make a point to go to a coffee shop every new place I go. I've been to a lot and Spoons is top notch.

I have heard mixed reviews about this place, some good and some bad. So I decided to check it out for myself and I am glad that I did. I can say this, Spoons serves the best French toast in Federal Hill. I had the pleasure of trying the cornflake French toast. Now I thought the cornflakes was going to make the French toast dry. Not at all, the french toast was still soft on the inside and a nice crispy texture on the outside. Also they give you a generous portion, alot for my palate but it was but also filling . My friend he had the bread pudding French toast with the drunken raisins. Whooooo daddy. That was awesome. It tastes just like bread pudding too. Not to sweet but just right. He said that was the 2nd best French toast he had ever tasted. We said we are gonna come back again for dinner next time. I am anxious to try the dinner menu. But breakfast was a sure plus for me. This place is also known for their cofee as well.

I've never met a coffee beverage at Spoons that I didn't like. The baristas are definitely knowledgeable and quick - which is nice. However, the thing about Spoons is that they are okay. Just okay. Their food is tasty, but nothing extraordinary. Their coffee is good, but not "blow your mind" good. The thing that I find the most memorable about Spoons is usually how long I have to wait before I can sit anywhere. Spoons is my coffee shop of choice within walking-distance if I can't go to Metropolitan.

Yum Yum Yum!!!! This place was delicious. It was perfectly priced for the food. There was a 30 minute wait, but it was worth the wait. We went on a Sunday morning around 10ish. I ordered a create your own omelette with spinache, mushrooms, cheddar, bacon, egg whites, and onions. Delicious! Cooked perfectly. Everyone else loved their meals as well, the pear & caramel pancakes, the bruschuto (spelling?) eggs benedict, and the fajita omlette. The service was great, and mimosas were yummy. We will definitley be visiting this place again. Its small, but not cramped.

Wow, some of these reviews are pretty brutal! My experience was pretty good. We went here for brunch around 10am on a Saturday and totally lucked out - we had a party of 7 and were able to immediately get a table. The place definitely had a coffee shop vibe. My husband and I split the Texas crunch French toast and a granola, fruit, and yogurt parfait. My mother-in-law ordered the monkey pancakes. I wasn't really impressed by the food, though the parfait was delicious, but it was decent. I think it would be a better place to grab coffee and a pastry and hang out rather than eat a meal. I love quaint and cozy local places and Spoons is certainly all of those things!

I want to like this place but just can't quite do it, and after last night I'm giving up forever. I've stopped into Spoons for coffee a couple of times, and every time the service is amazingly slow. One would think that the slow service would at least produce a decent cup of coffee but every time it has tasted burnt and bitter. As if the Baristas hadn't cleaned the espresso machine in days. The pastries were always good however which is why I decided to try dinner. The completely empty dining room should have been a hint. We ordered the butternut squash flatbread for an appetizer; the squash pieces were bitter and undercooked. For a main course I ordered the Italian salad with grilled Chicken, and my date ordered some kind of polenta dish served in its own little cast iron pan. The chicken on my salad tasted as if it had been boiled and then thrown on a griddle or an hour, the consistency of burnt rubber. My dates dish was cold in the center. We ended up leaving after a couple of bites. The interior of this place is cute and cozy and the servers are friendly if slow. However there are plenty of cute and cozy places around Federal Hill that also serve good food.

I went in the morning on a week-day. I love this place! It reminds me of the coffee houses featured in the show, "Felicity" that used to come on...great energy..quaint....and hipster personality. The french toast is heavenly. I'm not a coffee drinker but my friend is and loved the coffee!

3 stars We were wandering around Fells Point for the first time, looking like typical tourists, sneaking peeks into every shop & restaurant window, wondering where to go, what to do, where to shop, what to eat. We stumbled upon this cute street with rows of restaurants, and stopped outside this restaurant called "Spoons", debating whether it was worth a shot. Meanwhile, a friendly stranger noticed us and offered his local suggestion, saying it's one of the best places to eat in town for brunch. 'Nuff Said! ... we dashed inside ... With brick interior walls, wooden beam ceilings, and random, mismatched furniture, the place was cozy, warm, and welcoming. It's more of a cafe than a restaurant, with only seating for about 40 people. Being such a popular brunch spot, come early, or come late, avoid the rush! Ordered a Chai Latte (waaaaaaay better than the Starbucks)...and enjoyed a delicious breakfast of pancakes. I tried the buckwheat blueberry pancakes, , while my sister ordered the plain buttermilk pancakes. A typical stack is 4 pancakes...verrry filling! :) Even though there weren't any berries on the menu as a single order item, we asked for an order of fresh strawberries & blueberries, which they were more than happy to add, to our bill, for a small fee. Since our first visit @ Spoons, we go back every couple of months... Decor: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Food Quality/Taste: 3.5/5 Food Creativity: 3/5 Cost: $$

Mimosas here can be ordered with any of their available juices. A guava juice mimosa is delicious! Mimosa are normally $5 but for Saturday and Sunday brunch they are only $3 with the purchase of an entree.

Maybe it was that we already traversed Inner Harbor 2 miles and by the time we made 3 miles we were famished. Regardless, we had an idea of what we wanted to eat and thus bypassed various other places. When we were about to walk by Spoons, it actually caught our eye. Gotta love when restaurants feature their menu in the window... French Toast? Eggs? Sold! The BF ordered the Cornflake coated French toast and I wanted to try something out of the ordinary, with a little twist, Huevos Verdes was the perfect choice; 2 eggs any way, served with black beans, queso fresca, Salsa Verde served on two crisp tortillas with potatoes on the side. Everything was absolutely delicious! Decor is cozy and comfortable, with Alot of wood frame and beams inside, definitely has a neighborhood feel with a great following. That being said, be mindful that a late morning weekebd breakfast rush can run you a 30 minute wait, consider eating at the breakfast bar, like we did, instant seating, plus, you can catch the game or news on TV at the same time.

I had not been since it was renovated however I thought the food was better than before and the remodeling looks great! I love having a cute coffee shop in the neighborhood and can't resist their ice coffees on these hot summer days. The turkey burger was a bit dry but had a great taste! the sweet potato fries were delicious!

Such a disappointment! Probably the worst brunch that I've had in Baltimore. To be fair... The pros: comfortable, coffee house atmosphere; interesting local artwork on the walls; decent jazzy music; mimosas made with any of their available juices. Now the cold, honest truth... The cons: The food is awful! Burned, disgusting coffee (surprising, considering they tout themselves as a coffee house); overcooked eggs; burned pancakes and potatoes. The only decent part of the four meals we ordered was my french toast (part of the 2-2-2 combo), which still wasn't anything special. Service was ok. A total "Becky's mom" hostess, who was missing the majority of her teeth, took our name, seated us after a cigarette outside, and later had an argument with the cook in full view of all the patrons. Waitress was nice, but not incredibly attentive. I would not recommend Spoons for brunch or even for coffee. There are much better coffee houses and brunch restaurants in the city, especially in Fed Hill. Go elsewhere. The servers wear t-shirts emblazoned with "Spoon Me." Seriously, I need someone to spoon me for comfort after such an awful brunch experience.

Finally! A great place for brunch and coffee in Federal Hill! All you can drink mimosa and bloody mary specials are enticing, but the coffee at Spoos has it beat. Not to mention the food. Everything has been great. The 2-2-2 lets you pick from a number of choices to create your own dish and it was very good. I also had the benedict which I loved. I forgot what my friend ordered, but she was very satisfied! If you're coming for brunch or breakfast, make sure to come before either 1 or 2 because right around one of those times, they switch to a lunch menu with a limited breakfast still available.

The saving grace to this place is location. The food is mediocre and uninspired. The coffee is not bad, but the selections are limited. The pastries seem to be unfresh. I would recommend the brunch all day, this is a positive. Not a bad place to kill sometime, but there are better.

Spoons Cafe is a trendy small restaurant/bar at the center of Federal Hill. Famous for its brunch selections, I decided to check it out. Service at this place was so-so. If you are in a rush, this place is not a place for you. From the time we were seated, it took the servers 10 minutes to come to our table to take our orders. The food were mediocre. I ordered the protein omelette which was filled with every protein-rich food you can think of (eggs, beans, spinach). I thought it would taste disgusting, but it was surprisingly decent. Great dish to have, if you want to spark some energy into your life. The home fries included with the protein omelette were handled expertly as they were salted and crisped just right. On the other hand, my friend ordered the 2-2-2 dish and complained about the eggs not tasting right. I tried some, and agreed with him. However, the flapjacks and bacon were cooked just right. The restaurant itself, felt a little cramped, but then I don't blame them as almost all of Federal Hill restaurants are this way. But overall, I had a mediocre time dining here. You can definitely have better brunches at other places in Federal Hill.

definitely a greasy spoon, in a good good way. Located in a charming little area of Charm city, Spoons isn't exactly a place you'd happen upon - a friend took us there, with 4 kids (all under 4) in tow (mind you this was around 4 in the afternoon on a Sunday so it was relatively deserted). There was something for everyone, good beer selection (lots on tap, Magic Hat, etc.), tasty root beer floats, delicious sweet potato fries, and other nice easy diner dishes like macaroni with bacon, croque madame, humus sandwiches...there were other items on the menu that looked good, next time. The food is comfortable, nothing that you'll remember, but it serves its purpose well. We didn't try the coffee but the place looked well equipped (also the beignets escaped us this time). Spoons looked like a decent normal cafe, we were looking for one with space, and it turned out to be a good normal cafe with good food, plenty of space and a cowboy statue to boot. Can't beat that. Next time the oyster bar next door.

We have been to this place several times in the 3 years we've lived in Baltimore, but have been recently disappointed for a couple reasons: 1) their service seems to get slower and slower; 2) for being a place that caters to families, they only had two high chairs in the entire place! We had to leave twice due to both high chairs and booster seats in use. We ended up getting take out, which took 40 minutes!

Went for the first time today and enjoyed pleasant, efficient and tolerant service, as I ended up staying for an unexpected 2 hours. The coffee is amazing, the food was great - kind of the idealized version of what I ordered, which was bacon, sausage, sunny-side up eggs, wheat toast and home fries. Diet cheat day, what can I say? Anyway, it was all of that, cooked perfectly, with many local ingredients. No super-sized portions, just great ingredients cooked very well. And did I mention the coffee? Sooooo good! The reason I ended up staying for so long was the ambiance. The place isn't crowded, but it's clean, well-lit and cozy, and encourages the making of new friends. I'm glad they weren't too crowded, I would have felt like a jerk for taking up a table for that long! Go, get yourself a great breakfast and an even better cup of coffee.

Service was good -- hostess was excellent (we had to wait a few min for a table, but she kept checking in on us), server was fine. There were a couple of items on the menu that looked outstanding (Fried green tomato BLT), and I wish that I had ordered them instead of my omelet. My friend and I both got omelets, and both were way overcooked. Mine was so dry that the two sides of the half-circle didn't fuse together and it flipped right open when I tried to cut and eat it. Omelet was also cheap on toppings (cheese, veggies, etc.), but coffee was good. Sides for omelet were uninspired (toast and potatoes). Don't think I'll come again... I could have made myself a better omelet for under 2 bucks... totally not worth the $15.

Went back on a Sunday morning for a sit-down breakfast. I sat down at a table in full view of the coffee bar, a half-hour after their posted opening. No one came by, not even to tell me they'd be right with me. I waited for 20 minutes; since I had somewhere to be, I went to the coffee bar and got a large coffee to go. The guy behind the bar didn't say anything regarding the total lack of service in the restaurant. I ended up at Dunkin Donuts (ech). Not sure if I'll be back here again.

Ever had one of those days where your brain doesn't work? Today was one of those days for me. I left my phone at boutique #1. I left my new shirt from boutique #1 at boutique #2. I left my wallet at the Spoon's register. Once I got my 2% iced latte and added in 2 pumps of honey on the side table, and I was golden. SO happy. I can't vouch for the food, but I sure loved my coffee. They also sell coffee beans in the back area, but I didn't get any. The space has the local coffeehouse look down pat. It could be a little newer perhaps, but it's still pretty comfortable. My other Yelp search rec was Metropolitan, but that looks more like a bar than a coffeehouse. Next time I'm in Fed Hill, I'll be back at Spoons for more caffeinated honey :)

I like Spoons more every time I go. And now that I've had their new menu, I like it even more. The food is always spot on. Not pretentious, but fresh and well-prepared, and delicious. And I do always hear complaints about the service being slow (my boyfriend calls it "the place with the slow hippies"), but I have always had good and pleasant service. It's definitely a relaxed place, but in a good way. In an area surrounded by bar food and screens playing every sport known to testosterone, a place where you can hear your friends, eat things that aren't all fried, and watch nothing but each other, Spoons is a little respite.

I really liked the vibe of this place. I thought the pumpkin latte was one of the best coffee drinks I have ever had. Not too sweet and tasted like high quality coffee was used. Reasonable price. The brie and pear panini was a let down and overpriced. Didn't get much pear or brie, just a little pile of warm spinach between ciabatta. the sweet potato fries were excellent. If the sandwich had been what I was expecting I would have given Spoons 4 or 5 stars.

The breakfast and service is good, the coffee is better. The best part about it is they basically have a playground in there, so my kids can terrorize other children and not me.

Slow service. Nice environment and normal prices for coffee and breakfast. Let my bagel get cold before they served it.

Food is fantastic. Best breakfast I've had in a restaurant. I tried the crunchy French toast and loved it! Service left something to be desired. They were very slow with drink refills. However, this could be an issue just with the server we had. The food is worth it though.

I'm so surprised at the negative reviews for Spoons! I really like this place for brunch. The coffee is delicious, and the atmosphere is warm and bright (not too bright though, if you had a few the night before). I prefer the food here to Metropolitan, and the seating is much more comfortable. Had Nick as a server last time, and he was great!

This is a place to chill. It has comfy chairs and art that is pleasing. The sevice is friendly and I think the people are genuine. I like that they have toys for small children. It lets moms feel like they can relax around adults. As for the food... a bit pricy! I had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and a large milky way coffee===$15.00...... yikes! So I wont eat there but the coffee was pretty good and I like to chill there

It's not that pricey for Breakfast. The egg and cheese sandwich may be a little much (You can get one for much cheaper at Sam's bagel's down the street) but the omelets are good and average priced for a cafe of its caliber. The food is good, it's like a greasy spoon without the grease. The service has always been good when I've gone in, and if there's ever a problem they fix it. It's a good neighborhood breakfast and coffee shop and I'm a card carrying frequent diner.

When we first moved into the neighborhood, we ate at Spoons a lot. The artwork was always interesting, and the place was really family friendly. However, the food is overpriced for what it was. I did enjoy some of their interpretations of some things. They had pieces of apple in their tuna salad. It was nice to get a bowl of oatmeal with fruit on top.

disappointed! came here for saturday lunch and had high hopes. my finaces water glass had a hair on it - gross. the arugula in my arugula salad was pretty wilty and unappealing. fiance's chicken sandwhich was decent but thats about it. service could have been better. sadly im not sure we'll be returning.

I am only rating the coffee bar (I did not eat there). THe iced mochas w/skim milk are good. Anyone who enjoys Counter Culture roasted coffees probably would like Spoons. Reasonably priced relative to other hand tamped coffee shops. Service was polite.

Spoons has a laid-back, artsy vibe and is a perfect place to grab a cup of coffee, meal, or both. You will definitely find people hooked up to their laptops working and listening to music on their ipods. It's a coffee shop at heart. However, I was surprised the food was just as tasty. I tried the crab quesadilla and it was delicious. It was a perfect blend of fresh lump crab meat mixed together with light herbs, grilled on a sun-dried tomato tortilla. I also tried the ice coffee, which was just as satisfying after a hearty meal on a hot and humid day. Decor-wise, contemporary canvas art line the brick interior walls, cushy sofas and arm chairs are scattered throughout the cafe to add extra comfort. Spacious seating is available throughout the cafe for those who are there to dine. Surprisingly, there wasn't a long wait to be seated and the service was prompt. Spoons is located in the heart of Federal Hill, which makes it even nicer to visit. I'll be back again for sure.

I give this place only one star because although they have nice, comfy seating and good coffee, I was stiffed the last time I ate there. It was the oldest trick in the restaurant biz: double-credit dipping. I paid for my meal on my credit card and left a $3 tip in cash on the table. On the credit card slip I put -$0- under "tip". Well, three weeks later when I got my credit card bill in the mail I saw that Spoons had added an extra $4 to my credit card bill. This is the oldest trick in the book. Most people don't check their credit card statments carefully. I was so pissed -- I had been coming there regularly for the past year! Now I only pay cash when dining out...thanks, Spoons. For nuthin'.

Among the throng of bars in Fed Hill, there's a cute little coffee shop that could easily be missed if you're not looking for it. And when I'm in the mood for brunch, it is easily my favorite spot in Fed Hill. Spoons is not your traditional brunch place though, because in addition to great food and drinks, they also roast their own coffee beans and while I didn't order a cup of coffee on this visit, I can attest that they brew a great cup! After a quick morning walk around the neighborhood, my friend and I decided to pop into Spoons for something to eat. We were in the mood for something deliciously unhealthy because we just worked out a little, so what better way to negate all of that exercise than with an order of the O-Nuts. O-Nuts are Baltimore-style cinnamon beignets topped with powdered sugar. We split the small order which was only 3 beignets and more than enough for the two of us. They were light and sweet and not greasy in the slightest which was amazing because I know these were deep-fried. My friend was interested in continuing her unhealthy quest through the Spoons menu and decided to order the Crunchy French Toast which is french toast dipped in corn flakes. (If you're interested in another french toast dipped in cereal, consider Captain Crunch French Toast at Blue Moon Cafe.) The french toast was great and the portion size is quite large for only $8. I love a good egg dish, so I decided to order the Steak Fajita Breakfast Burrito. Inside the burrito was scrambled eggs, onion, peppers, cheddar cheese, salsa verde and I swapped the steak for bacon. I really liked the dish, however the egg to tortilla ratio was insane so I ended up taking the eggs out of the wrap to finish the dish. It was good, but I'd probably try something else next time. My breakfast burrito came with a side of Potatoes. I'm not a huge fan of potatoes but these were pretty good, seasoned nicely and cooked well. While I love Spoons and will gladly come in any day of the week for their delicious brunch, their hours are horrible. They close at 2pm daily and that prevents Spoons from being my number one coffee go-to spot. Horrible hours aside, the food is delicious and definitely worth a visit.

First time at Spoons, came Sunday for brunch. Great experience. Wait was short. Customer service and food was great. I had the 2-2-2 with 2 eggs, 2 pieces of scrapple and 2 pancakes. The cinnamon roll pancakes were delicious! Atmosphere was nice, different art, mixed crowd. Only bad thing was they only had 1 bathroom, for men and women to share. Other than that great experience, definitely going back.

What is there really to say about this place that hasn't already been said? Early morning mimosas with a twist, chicken biscuit sandwiches cooked to golden perfection, and exquisite stuffed sweet cream french toast have all become staples of my house's diet. We rarely dine in, but when we do it's guaranteed to be a laid back and comforting experience with servers who may feign apathy, but who do their jobs well. If you haven't already tried this place, you absolutely need to. Try the Raven's Nest! It's always a good bet.

I've been here for brunch twice now, and both times I've been pretty pleased. On a Saturday or Sunday you should be prepared to wait, but it's nothing compared to the madness of the infamous Miss Shirely's - it's usually a far more bearable 20-30 minutes before being seated, less for a party of just two. On the first occasion I had the apple, walnut and brie pancakes - every bit as savory as they sound. I was at first disappointed that the brie wasn't baked in, but it was warm and spreadable. On the second, I went for the cast iron waffle - I expected a pretty standard waffle, but was surprised by just how damn good it was. I ordered warm cinnamon apples for the top, which smelled amazing and tasted great at first, but ended up with just a bit too much cinnamon for me. We also shared an order of the "O"-nuts, which are absolutely amazing little nuggets of friend dough coated in powdered sugar - I absolutely recommend them. Coffee is a good deal because it's refillable, tea, on the other hand, is not. $3 mimosas on the weekends top off this solid brunch spot.

Ambiance is nice! The O-nuts were delicious, but the Chili Mac and cheese was mostly noodles...barely any cheese. Had to ask for two water refills and the French toast was lackluster.

Any place that let's me hold court from 10 a.m. til close at 3p, is ok with me. Correct - beyond close, since I didn't even notice the place cleared out until about 3:45p! lol! I got an incredible salad here, every type of tea on the menu, and even stole a few sweet potato fries as well. The portions are enormous and you will not leave hungry - that's a promise. The server (there was just one while I was there) was delightful and very helpful. In the past, I have only popped into Spoons when there's been something going on in Fed Hill like a festival, etc. I was doing the place a disservice only going then as it's always packed and crazy. Going in the middle of the week, while the hustle and bustle was at it's slowest was a treat. Will definitely be making more lunch appointments there in the future!

This place is great! It's small, quaint, and delicious! I ordered the classic eggs Benedict which I had never tried before and it was amazing. The potatoes it came with had a great seasoning to them, cooked along with small chopped onions, barely noticed it. My husband and the deep fried French toast, which of course I tried! It was a high calorie filled dream in a bite! Although they give you syrup, you don't need it. Powdered sugar and topped with fresh blueberries and strawberries. Great choices on specialty coffee too but since we were out on a really cold day, we went with the bottomless Spoons coffee. The taste was not so great. It had that burnt coffee taste like the taste you would find in an office from a coffee pot that has been on all day! Otherwise, it would have a full 5 star review. I would still go again!

I got to eat at Spoons twice while in Baltimore, and I am here to tell you that it is both delicious and excellent for a hangover. The beignets were to die for - so just a suggestion here - order them as soon as you sit down and before even looking at a menu. No matter how much you try you can't have a bad meal after that. My friend and I tried the biscuit and gravy, the burrito and a few other items. I was also surprised at their coffee menu, not just your plain jane caffeine here, more like a coffee shop. Highly recommend this stop in B-more!

  • Rebecca F.

Everything we got was delicious! Great food and lovely service. The Benedict's are always a good choice and the salted caramel latte is to die for. Not many good breakfast spots around so if your trying to find one this is the place to go with reasonable prices.

You can't go wrong with Spoons! We live in Federal Hill and walk to Spoons almost every morning for their lattes, which will make you think twice before you go to Starbucks again. If we have extra time before my husband has to go into work we'll sit down and order something for breakfast. Everything we've had has been outstanding. My absolute favorite are the berry pancakes, but they are seasonal so you have to order them when they're available. Some of my other favorites are their eggs benedict, oatmeal & yogurt parfait w/ fresh berries (which comes in a glass mason jar to top off its awesomeness) and their 2-2-2 which is the typical eggs, bacon and potatoes meal. They're only open till 2 or 3 since they only do breakfast and lunch and they can get really busy on the weekends when everyone invades Federal Hill for brunch. However, they're worth the wait, you won't be disappointed!

I went for brunch once, and will definitely come back. They make a great London Fog and the food was great. I want to come back a little later and order off the lunch menu, BUT the place is so small and busy, I really hate waiting. Maybe in the summer, I won't mind waiting outside so much. Also, my friend left her scarf behind, and they were wonderful. They managed to find us, TWO blocks away. Really surprised and thankful.

I've been here a few times. The food is good. I've never had a bad meal here. Unfortunately, it's slow. On a Friday afternoon, I figured I'd pop in for a quick sandwich. I ended up getting stuck here for over an hour. I had honestly considered getting up and leaving. On the second occasion, we were there during the peak hours, so I give more slack when it comes to how long food takes, but we were again there for over 90 minutes for a brunch of omelettes and coffee. I suggest going here if you have plenty of time, the food is good, just slow. PS. They have $3 mimosas on the weekend, $4 during the week.

Based off of other reviews and virtually no word of mouth, I wasn't expecting a whole lot from Spoons. However, this was one of the best brunches I've had in a while. I'm wondering if its under new management or something, because the other reviews (hipster? daycare center?) don't reflect my experience here at all. Our waitress was super sweet and for some reason I was in an EXTREMELY indecisive mood, but she stuck with me. I ordered the crab frittata, which I was expecting to come out as a slice, but it was actually an individual frittata (pretty big) in a cast-iron personalized pot thing. It was delicious, as was the cereal french toast (insane) and home fries. The mimosas were top notch and my pumpkin latte came topped with a little foam heart. I docked one star because the food was super duper slow to come out. I can't wait to go back and hopefully update to 5 stars!

So had brunch at spoons, delicious steak fajita burrito, mimosas of course, omeltte was good according to a friend of mine and also a portabello sandwich or something of that sort one liked. It was great to go back and try something different.

Great food and good service, the only negative thing about this place is the salads are over priced for the amount you get. All of the rest of their food is fairly priced, as well as the drink selection.

I've only been to Spoons Cafe for several brunches and it wasn't bad at all. They've got the common brunch items, but also some nifty and unique ones as well. I like the breaking fast burrito and the protein scramble. Both come with big portions and are quite filling. The protein scramble is also made of egg whites, a healthy choice. I also recommend the apple, walnut, and brie pancakes. They are quite tasty. Spoons also has quite a selection of coffees. They're a bit pricey, but convenient nonetheless. It's rather difficult to find parking, but at least there aren't huge waits for brunch like Blue Moon and Miss Shirley.

I have been here countless times, my go to breakfast place in fed hill! I love love love all of their benedicts. $3 mimosas on Saturday and Sunday as well for the brunch lovers. Excellent coffee drinks and friendly servers. Spoons never disappoints.

I've had New Orleans' beignets and I've had Spoon's version of a beignet (though I don't think they classify it as that on their menu). It was actually really good. The balance of cinnamon and powdered sugar with the deep fried dough was beautiful. I wish they had been bigger, but that's my stomach speaking. Their mimosas were delicious too, but it's hard to go wrong with those. I ordered their french toast, which was simple but did the job. The eggs were good, bacon good, sausage good, toast good. I would hope those were easy enough to make. All in all, it was fairly simple breakfast fare, with the exception of the tongue-satisfyingly scrumptious beignet things. I'd go there again, if I was in the mood for simplicity.

A great little breakfast joint in federal hill we found based on the recommendation of the staff at Birroteca. We had the peanut butter biscuit with maple sauce to start followed by pancakes that tasted like cinnamon buns, and huevos verdes with just the right amount of spice. Our only regret was not trying the pumpkin packages and creme cheese stuffed French toast. Food was delicious and staff was friendly. And some nice local art on the walls to boot. We'll be back soon for breakfast and try the lunch menu.

The breakfast is delicious!! The menu is unique, the food is fresh, and the atmosphere is quaint. It's hard for a family with 3 small kids to go out in the city, but we found spoons to be very family friendly. Come early as this spot is popular and can fill up fast.

Spoons is a really cute place for brunch in the Federal Hill area! Even though we don't live super close, we come here on occasion on Sunday mornings and have always been pleased with our meals. This is definitely a popular brunch spot and it's pretty small, but the wait is never that bad. The longest we have ever had to wait is about 15 minutes, which is totally reasonable. Our most recent visit we arrived at 8:30 and were able to seat ourselves and get quick service. The service here is always quick and the servers are very polite. The coffee is solid. I wouldn't rave about it (though I'm a bit of a coffee snob), but it does the job. I really like coming here because of the food! The menu is pretty creative and there are options to serve any palate. In the past I've tried the make-your-own omelet with spinach, mushrooms, feta, and ham and the breakfast burrito. Most recently I had the big spoon omelet. The name is no joke - it is BIG. I couldn't even finish all of it and I was hungry! The big spoon is packed with bacon, ham, tomato, onion, potato, cheddar and parmesan. So filling and delicious! The eggs were cooked perfectly and it was so cheesy. My boyfriend ordered the 2-2-2, with scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes. I had a bite of his pancakes and they were really tasty! They were light and fluffy, with an apple cinnamon flavor. The portion size was very appropriate too. Prices for entrees are reasonable. $3 mimosas on the weekend too!

The fact that they have $3 mimosas/bloody mary's on Saturdays/Sundays (as well as that awesome sounding Sake Siracha thing) is all this place needs to steal my heart. Really cute place with great brunch with some neat menu options you don't see everywhere like the raven's nest (egg in a hole - why don't more places serve this?), risotto cakes, and pulled pork benedict. Not cheap but not expensive - certainly if this place was in DC everything would cost at least twice as much. Will certainly be coming back!

We went to Spoons on a Sunday around 11 am and while we were seated right away, we had very slow service after that. We weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a big deal but our waiter just seemed kind of half-asleep or something - he forgot my husband's OJ and never once refilled my coffee, even though we were there for over an hour. In fact, he took our order, delivered water and only came back when we went up to the coffee bar to ask for our check. Our food and drinks were served by others among the wait staff. We started with the O-Nuts: cinnamon sugar beignets which were perfectly fried and sweet. My husband had the Breakfast Burrito with chorizo which was HUGE and came with a side order of breakfast potatoes. The burrito was tasty and the potatoes were nicely browned and crisp. My oatmeal was, well, oatmeal - not exactly mind-blowing but then again that's not why I ordered it. I thought the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable: lots of college or grad school students, some older folks and even one or two families with kids. Definitely the kind of place where everybody can find something to enjoy.

Came upon Spoons from a recommendation by one of the locals for a brunch place within walking distance. It was around noon time when I finally stumbled upon the small sign in this historic Federal Hill section of the city. Spoons is a small, eclectic coffee shop with a small amount of seating, small menu, and small portions. Starting to see a pattern here? There is nothing remarkable about the food they serve. Breakfast is available all day (until 3 pm that is). The menu changes at 11 am from a full breakfast menu to a shortened one with lunch options. I ordered the "Greasy Spoon" for $9 that included eggs, home fries, toast, and bacon. For the amount they served on the plate. . . it was definitely not worth the $9 spent. They have a nice selection of drinks to choose from, though I did not partake in their coffee as I am not one to drink it. If I lived in the area I can't say that I would return here for breakfast, nothing too special or too bad about the place.

Great coffee and good breakfast... Had the Risotto Benedict and it was AWESOME!!! The Cappucino will leave you highly satisfied as far as quality is concerned. This has turned into one of my Favorites in Fed Hill

Great little diner with personality and funk. Beignets were delicious! I thought it was a bit pricey but not horrible. I'll have to try some pancakes next time. The oatmeal was good and my husband had the huevos verdes which was yummy! Good service. A solid 3.5.

Hipster vibe complete with chalkboard menus, funky entree names (e.g. greasy spoon, raven's nest) and wait staff with trendy nerd glasses...but the odd/lengthty service and hit or miss food stops me from being a huge fan of Spoons. Yet. Service was slow. I felt like we were attended by whimsy characters in an indie film, in one of those slo-mo scenes where time and people pass you by. Only, we were hungry reality-goers at a normal pace, and not really 'getting it'. Isn't that what indie film experiences are like? (By the way, couple next to us looked equally confused. I'm glad we weren't the only ones.) Anyhow, coffee and chocolate chai latte was good--both served in your typical large, waist-lovin' mugs. The risotto benedict was great in theory, but cakes and sauce were off-putting. I wouldn't have known the cakes were risotto had it not been in the menu, and hollaindaise really ruined the dish. The lettuce below the dish also did not help the dish very much, and made it taste too heavy if possible. BUT, the Big Spoon scramble was rather scrumptious and I got all "Joey's date" on my beau. I look forward to giving Spoons another try, with something more simple off the menu (a scramble or omelette) and time to spare.

Spoons is a comfy little spot in fed hill. I used to walk right by thinking it was just another bar, but the brunch here is tasty! The eggs Benedict over fried risotto cakes is a great combo of creamy and crunchy flavors: the hollandaise and egg yolk are a great, rich contrast to the crunchy crust of the risotto fritters. Add a little hot sauce for acidity and hold the prosciutto and I'm in heaven! The O-nut beignets are a must, get 2-3 per person to whet your appetite or as dessert. And if you like a Bloody Mary, their take on it has sriracha and sake, great if you like your savories a little boozy. Service was fast and attentive as was the kitchen. Solid staff, solid food, and reasonable prices make this my top brunch choice in all of SoBo!

Disclaimer: I'm vegan, therefore I've literally only had their soy lattes. I love their soy lattes. So good! I always come in during brunch and it's packed. Guess that's a good sign :)

I had no idea this place even existed, and when I needed to find a place between 'here and there' to meet some of my co-workers, it seemed to be in the perfect location. When I walked in, the ambiance was cute, casual and the aroma filled my lungs. I sat at the bar and quickly ordered a latte... delicious! I had my meeting and found an outlet (win!), so I actually set up camp to stay. I started to get a little hungry, and eventually ordered the brie and pear panini. O.M.G. It was warm, the brie was melting in my mouth and it was gone in seconds. I was very impressed, and would love to go back soon!

Banana French toast is great and was what I had the first time. My second time at Spoons was yesterday on New Year's Day. We waited 30 mins for a table since it was packed. It was well worth the wait. I like there are bottomless coffee and the salmon and egg dish was pretty tasty and filled me up quickly.

Spoons definitely serves the best coffee in Federal Hill. They also have some great dining room options, I have enjoyed brunch a few times. On my most recent visit I went with more lunchy options which are also offered during the brunch time. It's nice that such a small place is able to offer such a wide range of menu options. While I enjoyed my food, I feel like the salad needed to be served on either a bigger plate or in a bowl. It was piled high and was hard to maneuver in order to get the perfect bit of all the ingredients. Greens and carrots kept falling onto the table, which is far from ideal. We also had to wait rather long for our food which we could see was ready (3-4 minutes in the window) although I feel like this is the first time I have received only ok service at Spoons. Definitely a great option for those who don't want to eat brunch at a bar.

My wife and I come in every Sunday morning after Church! I am happy to say we are extremely pleased with EVERYTHING they produce! The food is excellent and current. New menu items and always freshly prepared! Bottom line, Spoons does it RIGHT! Oh yeah did I say that they are sponsoring a softball team this spring/summer? They are!

I'm impressed. I never really venture to the federal hill area for breakfast, but I will be back. You must have the beignets! I will be a regular simply for beignets and coffee. My main dish--I got an omelet with crimini mushrooms and brie cheese that was delicious. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked divine. The ambience makes for nice conversation and the coffee was delicious! Service was exceptional!

Was looking forward to having breakfast, but got there a little too late, so was limited on breakfast choices. Had the huevos verdes, recommended by the waitress. Never had before, and it was different, and tasty. My husband and I had a cinnamon spice latte and a pumpkin spice latte, and both were very good. Would like to come back for their breakfast menu.

I was attracted to this restaurant for weekend brunch because of the attractive menu options. The real entrees were not as tasty as portrayed. I judge good restaurant food on the taste and quality for the price. If it knocks my socks off or the prep is too much work for me to do at home, it will win me over. This, however, tasted like an untrained cook could make: grilled chicken rolled up in a tortilla with tossed lettuce. The waitress was VERY slow and a bit aloof. Tables of 2 seated next to us were served first and it took well over 10 minutes to receive standard drinks. It took nearly an hour and a half to eat breakfast. I was very disappointed. Boo! I didn't want to be.
