HORRIBLE food! HORRIBLE atmosphere!! HORRIBLY RUDE staff!!! I was working in the area and stopped for a quick lunch. This in on the East side of Baltimore, so I was not expecting much. However, this place is DISGUSTING. I ordered a meatball sub. It looked and tasted like dog food. The cheese on the sandwich was good, but the rest of it was awful. When I complained, the staff refused to do anything about it. I threw the sandwich away and went and bought another lunch somewhere else. The place is grossly out of date and in need of a good cleaning. The restrooms were disgusting, the floors were greasy, and the kitchen door needed a good scrubbing. Augh......I didn't want to touch anything. Some of the other customers weirded me out, and I could not get out of there fast enough. Save your money......keep on driving.......this place is not worth your time and you will not want to eat what they are serving up.

I ordered through GrubHub as I wanted pizza not from the chain stores. Had relatively good reviews. Small Sausage and Mushrooms was $12 with delivery fee and tax. Seems to have pretty good flavor but would probably be able to give a better review if it was at least warm. Ordered at 12:39. Expected delivery was 1:25. Got here at 1:46. Cold. Had to warm it up in the microwave which we all know doesn't make for the best pizza experience. Considering the shop is less than 2 miles away? I expected at least a warm pizza.

I have been ordering from Spartan since I moved to Baltimore two years ago. Favorite items are the white pizza, greek (of sorts) salad, and the cheeseburger sub. You can order booze for delivery too so that is a plus! They are always very polite on the phone and always call me "hon" which I love. They usually have coupons so definitely take advantage of those when you order. And they are very quick with their deliveries. Good value and good food.

Solid pizza delivery place. I can't say it's in the same ranks as Tutti Gusti (NY style), Matthew's (deep dish), or Verde (classic thin crust), but it gets the job done in a pinch. Plus, they're open earlier than any other pizza place (10 am M-Sat; 11 am on Sun). Pizza for breakfast what whaaaat!?! Pay heed to other reviews regarding the inside: this place lacks in the ambiance department, so pickup or delivery is the way to go. Spartan gets a little extra credit from this teacher, on account of their jalapeno poppers: the king of all apps. All in all, a-ok spot to fulfill your 'za needs.

Every time I've ordered here my food has been wrong. So this time I ordered through grubhub and ordered a simple cheese steak...lettuce, tomotoes, cheese, ketchup and mayo. Well when i get my sub it comes with everything, onions and peppers as well. Now I specifically state what I want on my sub because I CANNOT EAT ONIONS AND PEPPERS. I mean it's simple. Site says "choose your fixings". I choose my fixings. So...why in holy hell am I getting fixings I did not choose??? Ok...rant partially over. Next, it wouldn't be so bad if they were courteous. Now as for the young lady who answers the phone. I don't know who in the hell appointed this pretentious smart ass female to her pedastal on the righthand side of Jesus, but it's clear she doesn't understand nor care about good customer service. When I politely described the issue, I was told that it was "too bad, that's how it comes no matter what you want on it" and to "order another and just pay for it". Now hear me out, I am not a mean nor violent person, but when I have not eaten the entire day and get home at 10pm, rudeness is not something I will tolerate, especially when I paid for the food with my money and tipped! So I call grubhub and they couldn't even reason with this place and I was told the restaurant has been flagged, to review my experience everywhere humanly possible and that if I want, they will give me a discount on my next order. In conclusion, to hell with this dirty, podunk, hole in the wall ran by uppity aholes...I'll take my business elsewhere, such as fillipinos which is right up the street!

This is my first time ordering, we ordered a veggie and a meat lovers pizza, they were delivered hot, fresh and delicious! I'll order again...when I'm in the area.

Spartans is horrible from the customer service to the quality of the food. The order taker (young woman) was not very knowledgeable as to the type of pizza sauce used nor whether the buffalo wings are fried hard. It took over 1hour for delivery and they forgot to bring the soda. The pizza lacked sauce...tasted like it was store bought. It was cold and lacked freshness and barely any sauce added. The buffalo wings were extremely soggy and was drowned in a horrible tasting sauce. I spent $37 for this meal and they refused to honor the coupons that they advertise with their flyers. They said that there was no Manager available on a Saturday night??? This was my second time ordering from this place. I figured the first time I had this bad experience was just a fluke and decided to give them a 2nd chance....shame on me for this poor decision. Spartan Never Again!!!!

Not my favorite. Food took forever to be delivered and it really wasn't even that good. I mean it was cold by the time we got it.

This is the closest to (if not exactly like) New York pizza you will find in Baltimore. Two Boots is delicious but Spartan's sauce and crust is perfect. There's also "off the menu" deals if you ask for them - a 12 inch pizza for 5$ (normally 7$).

Even though pizzeria is in their name, that is not their strong point. Their pizza was way too thick and the sauce was not well seasoned. On the other hand, their wings taste fresh and hot. Hot and cold subs are served up in a flash and are sure to please. I like that they are open late and they deliver to an extended area. They have some cafeteria style tables if you want to dine in, but it is probably more comfortable to take your order home.

My cold cut sub was solid. Nothing spectacular, but it was a decent standard Italian Cold Cut Sub that came out fast. The place is fairly dingy but what do you expect? If you want a quick bite with typical American deli fare in a very casual setting, go for it.

Awful. I've eaten better pizza in public school cafeterias. The only thing worse than their pizza are the boneless wings, which taste like they were breaded with styrofoam. Please don't eat here. Spartan pizza, please stop serving shit. Disgusto!

Ordered delivery tonight - 10 boneless buffalo chicken bites. Order shows up and the boneless chicken bites are actually wings, we call to complain and they tell us to send back the wings and they'll bring the boneless. Really? How ghetto is that? I'd love to know what they're doing with those chicken wings ...

This is our delivery pizza choice. After having a horrible experience with a place (see zetto pizza review) I will no longer sway away from you Spartans pizza. Always affordable, always able to customize, always on time, always good and fresh, always really friendly service. Thank you for being great when others failed. I'm currently eating a fantasticly cheesy jalapeño pepperoni pizza.

I've ordered here a bunch of times and the food is actually pretty good. But they lost my business tonight as I called to let them know they overcharged me. The woman on the phone said it's not her fault and it was the computer's. I let her know that i understood but still wanted her to fix it. After she explained again that it wasn't her fault, i got a little angry and told her to just give the difference to the delivery guy (in addition to what i gave him). She said no and then refused to give me her manager. I explained to her what customer service is and then she hung up...won't be going back.

In Baltimore, pizza, wings and pretty much everything deep fried is the norm of the kitchens in the area. Finding the best out of all the other's, is a lot harder than said. Anyone can make wings, but lightly breaded and have some substance, is pretty hard. A lot of places I have experience with seemingly offer one or the other : either too much bread or the size of the wing is too small! Spartan has found a way to offer best of both worlds, and they have found a way to offer a lot of sauce options, either on the side or covered all over your wings; anyway you order it they will be good. This place has a beer licence , and is able to deliver beer or you can simply grab a single if your dining in. Speaking of dining in, their location looks like a old gypsy carnival, I don't know why or what they were aiming for but..... Anyways, the pizza here is good, by slice the dough is okay, i haven't really had enough to recommend their pies ; I can tell you the style is NY and not too bad. Sub's however are pretty good, the meat's they use are good and so are their veggies. There is even a weekly special offered outside of the store, it is pick up only by the way. The special is a Raven's Sub for less than $6, with chips and a soda, not bad for lunch. - Open late w/ free delivery - Beer sold here! ( this can be delivered too!) - Wing's are AWESOME! - Extensive menu, will likely make everyone happy!

I love Spartan pizza. I always get the same thing- cheesesteak and cheese fries. This place makes for a great late night fried food fix; especially after a night out. The food is good and not a waste of money. The wings and pizza are pretty good too. I'd pass on the mozzarella sticks. Nothing special about those. Delivery is usually about 45mins but the food is never cold.

Pizza is mmm mmm good! Cheese steak subs are at the top of my list too. I can buy beer there when I pick up my pizza. They are fast and inexpensive. There is a lot to like about this place!

Good NYC style pizza. Would get 5 stars, but it takes forever for delivery to arrive. Just ordered from there and they delivery beer, so that's awesome.

Was pleasantly surprised by Spartan. Low Down Dirty (absent the shame): carryout/delivery that is above average as overall experience for that specific niche: good food, many choices, great prices, fast delivery, arrives hot, open late and courteous staff. I'm not one to like many "extras" on my food. Maybe I'm just not cultured in the ways of the foodies...or, maybe I just like "regular" food? I don't know if mayonnaise is regular food but I am convinced it has evil tendencies and avoid it all costs. Please acknowledge my prior sentence for the outlier it is. Keeping you on your toes people. Though I have not ordered every single item, I've never been disappointed. I'm not going to say I've been "blown away" either. Some items are above average, some average; however, none have been below average. The one thing that is above average is their chicken nuggets. I know. I know. I mean they're just chicken nuggets. Look at 'em. They're just little babies compared to their big brother the chicken tender or their hot cousin the chicken wing (second cousin of course, kind of inappropriate to call one's first cousin hot). My point is, the nuggets are tasty. I just had some and my dog's snuggly-wuggly puppy face forced me to share one. Then when I did finish the rest, I was pissed I had given that one up. Why did I fall for that dog's evil plot? I bet mayonnaise was in on it (see above). Fries are pretty good, thick cut and just right amount of crispy. I'm from Chicago so it's not entirely fair for me to rate the pizza, but I'm going to anyways. Compared to local pizza offerings, the regular cheese was on par but just average and certainly not even the best in this area. The place itself is not much to look at but I'm not eating the decor. I like my feng shui in my belly...where it belongs

I'd passed by Spartan Pizzeria a number of times and after seeing some attractive deals I gave it a try. We split a couple of pizzas between four people and we were all happy with what we got. I'd rate the pizza as very good but not great, and the price ($24 fed four people with significant leftovers) was very reasonable. This is definitely a pickup/delivery type establishment because the inside of the restaurant has absolutely zero appeal. I can't comment on their delivery service but the pickup pizza that we ordered was ready right when they said it would be.

My sub was dry, no lettuce when I asked for extra. I could've mAde better, smaller and crispier wings in my kitchen, pizza was ok. I could've had digiorno. And my food was not hott. If I can take a nap you took to long to deliver when the place is 1.5 miles from my house... First and only time.

Love this place! It doesn't get much better than this. I have not tried the pizza although the reason I tried this place is someone recommended them for their pizza. I am very particular about my pizza so I opted to try their sandwiches. There is another pizza place down the street from here and I just don't know how anyone could top that place. Love the gyro platter and cheeseteak. Always hot and at this point I've never been dissapointed. Beer and wine on the menu and yes they deliver both! I live in the area so I generally stop and pick up on the way home have only had delivery service once and it took quite a while for the food to arrive, the food was warm and tasty just took longer than if I called the order in and went to pick it up myself. Will be trying other things on the menu I am sure they will be just as great as the things I've already tried.

I had been looking for a wing place that had breaded wings. I found this gem by accident. I was driving down the street and they had a guy dancing with headphones and a spartan pizza sign out front. My initial impression is that he looked like a jack ass, but it got my attention and I tried. It is close to the Canton area and in an easy place to pickup carry out. You can eat in, but it's not much for ambiance. The bonus is that they are quick and deliver. They come in an aluminum serving tray so game day just got a lot easier. They also do good pizza, sandwiches and salads.

Terrible. Ordered a small cheese pizza, light sauce. Over an hour passes before my delivery guy shows up. He calls my phone and tries to talk me into running out to his car in the pouring rain. I told him no and he was at my door in another 10 min. Got my pizza, he left. I open up the box and the pizza looks like crap. A lot of crust, burnt cheese, and sauce. I eat one mangled slice and almost throw up. I call them back, the woman answers with a curt "spartans hold please" and puts me on hold w/o waiting for a response. Further irritated I wait for 7 min for her to return. I explain my situation and she replies,"so...do you want us to remake it?" No apology for their mistake or my inconvenience. I thought about it a moment, my original intent had been to get a refund but I thought, well maybe I could get an edible pizza. So I said yes. She said she'd send the delivery out asap and hung up without another word or to wait for me to respond. I waited another hour and a half, no pizza. I call them back. Same woman, same rude treatment. When she came back to take my order, I re-explained my situation and told her I wanted my money refunded. A lot of searching for tickets and shouting at coworkers, she then told me it was leaving the store right then. I said, no, again I've waited too long and want a refund. More scrambling, then I needed to repeat my address 3 times, then she said shed void the whole check. She hung up on me while I said, "thank you." Never apologized once, not a shred of concern for the situation at all. Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. Which is why I'm wasting my time writing this review. I hope the owner reads this because I know for a fact they were slammed and everyone who called in dealt with the same, trashy attitude I did.

Totally got my order wrong but otherwise, the pizza was delicious! Cheesy with a crunchy but soft crust. Yum.
