I finally made it to Sonic in Baltimore. It's a fun concept where you drive up, order from your personal kiosk/booth and then wait for your food to be delivered to your car window. My server brought my food out on skates, which is the Sonic way! I've eaten at a few Sonics. This one is nice and new. I got the Diet Cherry Limeade, a cheeseburger and the tots. The sandwiches/entrees are decent. I think the highlight for me are the tater tots and the array of beverages. If you are thirsty, this is the place to visit. If you are planning on making a visit, the Sonic Happy Hour (half off drinks) and sunny, warm days are the busiest. Go figure. It's fun to go to Sonic, and it breaks up the fast food doldrums.

Terrible. The milkshake was good, but the fries and tater tots were lukewarm. The grilled cheese was not good at all. A waste of $10.

This place had my husband and I dreaming about being teenagers again! Why this place wasn't packed, I don't know! We were on our way to Frederick so we didn't do the drive in but watching the people there was so fun. The guys skated so smoothly out to the cars. I would have been all over the place. :-) It was fun to have something like an old fashion corn dog to order! We got the cherry lime drink that had cherries and two slices of lime at the bottom....Yum. Less ice would have made it a bit more enjoyable. The chicken poppers tasted like chicken....my first time doing chicken.nuggets in years! The mozzerella sticks were absolutely divine. Service was nice and fast. And after a fun day in Frederick we returned to Baltimore for a rare repeat. Lol. Yay for Sonic for making fast food a fun experience.

Yum.... I just had the Super Sonic Breakfast Burrito #12 I think it was. That little baby burrito/wrap was delish. It is a burrito with seasoned eggs, sausage, onions and jalapeno peppers. They really packed those hotties on there this time! Those jalepeno peppers will wake you up, and they serve this all day long too. It is a decent compact sized burrito not to be compared to Chipotles or Qdobas. Sonic puts a fair amount of everything into the burritos and they include salsa packets, if needed. I don't need the salsa but I'll sprinkle some on throughout the burrito just for a different taste. I ordered tator tots and a soda which rang me up to about $5. All combined I am feeling satisfied, I enjoyed breakfast this morning!

THE GOOD: Woo Hoo!!! Happy Hour here is the only reason I go here now (between 2-4). The drinks are great!! You can mix many combinations and the slushes are good too. When I get a drink I have to tell them light ice because the fill your regular drink up like it's a slush with ice. The Milkshakes are good too. All their drinks are great. THE BAD: The food here is not the greatest...but if you are hungry you will eat anything. The hamburgers are okay, if they aren't cold by the time you get home because it's just a drive-in/through. The fries are not good...nothing like BK or McD's...even Wendy's has better fries. The chicken tenders are dry, the hot dogs are always undercooked...need I go on...nope...I'll let you be the judge. THE UGLY: If you are in a hurry DO NOT GO HERE. There is nothing fast about this fast food joint. The service is extremely slow. You can sit in the drive through line for a good 15-20 minutes and then to add fuel to the fire, when you get to the speaker to order they ask you to wait again which can be another 5 minutes or more. RECOMMENDATION: I would only go for a good drink, slush, or milkshake. Otherwise I would go to BK.

My all time fave and guilty pleasure.... Cherry Limeade! I love this stuff seriously can't get enough. Sonic is great for a quick bite to eat and I like how they will pretty much customize all of the menu items to your taste. I've never had a bad experience at this location or any other for that matter and it is also awesome to watch the car hops on their roller skates. My advice is to go between 2 and 4pm it happy hour and all of the drinks are half price!!

With the exception for sometimes being rather slow this Sonic is a great location. The employees are always friendly and my order is always right. My go to meals: Cheesy bacon pretzel dog Asiago chicken sandwich A #1 bacon no onions French Toast sticks Chilli cheese tots Strawberry shake Vanilla slush

So glad that there is a sonic in Maryland..love this place and it has such great prices and deals! I can't wait for when it starts getting warmer outside. It's a nice place to have family and friend time with a meal

If this review was just based on the burger I had, then it would be a 4 star review. However, since a burger was not all that I had this is the reason why I gave it 3 stars. The onion rings are very sweet. I do not think that it is because of the onion itself but because of the batter that they used. The batter was too sweet to my tastes and didn't make my onion ring experience a very tasty one. Overall, I did like my meal just not the sides.

Thank goodness for a Sonic within about an hour of us now, but also thank goodness it isn't any closer or we would have a serious obesity problem! The food is good at Sonic; don't think I've had a complaint ever. The tots are the best...tots are slowly taking over the world! It is very cheap; you can get a combo meal for around $5 and they have a value menu as well where everything is around $1 - $1.50. The food is delivered to you, on roller skates, within about 5 minutes of ordering. I recently tried the Cranberry Limeade and think I may have a new favorite drink! Happy hour is from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. every day which will get you half priced drinks! The location of this particular Sonic is kinda weird (in the parking lot of a food store). Worth the visit next you are near!

  • Lauren S.

Yay! Sonic! I had been to the one many times down by the Eastern Shore (yes, we have had a Sonic in MD for a while. Just not near Baltimore!) and fell in love with the Cherry Limeaide with a shot of chocolate. And the fries. Oh, so good. I came here two days before it was supposed to open (they were doing a test run) and while the line was crazy, it moved fast. Service is impossibly friendly and prompt. The prices are right, and as an added bonus, the McDonalds across the street looks like it's about to cry every time I drive past. If you can deal with crazy lines, it's worth a trip. Even my dad was impressed.

Good good food but terrible service! I went and ordered my food and when they came out on their roller skates they said nothing no "how are you sir" nothing It makes me wonder if I will ever go back just sad

The first time I had sonic was last year in Williamsburg Virginia and I fell in love! We probably went 5 times in the 2 days we stayed down there lol! I was excited to hear that there was one about an hour away from my house and decided to drive 50 miles to get my fix! It was well worth the trip! Its very hard to go to sonic and get a simple combo meal. The food is so cheap you will find yourself consuming almost everything on the menu. I love the Sonic burgers with chili cheese fries. I usually wash it all down with a blue coconut slushy (Mmmm). Their coney hot dogs are also very delicious. Make sure you leave room for desert! I love the frozen yogurt sunday topped with strawberry fudge, chocolate fudge, whipped cream, and bananas! Ahhhh so good!!! Your mind tells you to eat all this stuff but your body tells you NO haha! If I there was a Sonic within a 15 to 20 mile radius of my home, I would be twice my size!

  • Brittney W.

Even though they ran out of cheesecake bites, Elyce the manager showed us so much hospitality. I hadn't been to Sonic since college and because we don't have them in south Florida yet, it was great eating those delicious mozzarella sticks once more.

The burgers were substandard and extremely cold!! They were thrown together haphazardly because when I pulled it out of the sleeve most of the lettuce, onions, and pickle contents fell on my lap. The tater tots were luke warm which was much better than the cold burgers. The buns were very hard and dried out as if they were very old. The tomato was mushy and old. Not fresh at all. It was substandard even by fast food standards... Then the woman taking our order was hard to understand as she sounded less than enthused to be working there. She had the server run over to check our military ID to get the discount. Thanks for the discount but I haver never had someone run out in the middle of our order to check for it... Awkward much?! Then she disappeared for awhile until I asked "hello?" Where she screamed our total and ended it with a sassy "ok?!" The male server was polite. However, another male worker opened the door and hollered at a car speeding super fast through the parking area to come back around to talk at the drive-thru window (I suspect a friend). Then the car came around and stayed at the window and chatted the whole time we were there eating.... Even when cars came up to get their orders, it stayed. I'd be so upset if I had to wait for workers to finish their conversations with their friends while my food was getting cold... Oh wait mine was anyways!!!! Unprofessional!

Let me start off by saying, I love Sonic. This particular one wasn't that good. The lady who took my order had an attitude and kept asking "is that it" in the middle of me ordering. Can I finish my order first?! Sheesh. Anyways, they got my order wrong twice. The guy who was sent to my car started off nice and then had an attitude because I asked him three times to bring me some sauce. I'm thinking "I didn't tell you to work here. You put the application in, not me". The only good that came out of this Sonic was the chicken tender sandwich (which was only given to me to compensate for the difference of price, since they charged me for large chili cheese tots instead of the small). I sat in my car for 30 mins while they got my order right. It's not everyday I get to go to Sonic because we don't have one near my area. I just happened to be in Baltimore, and I was super excited to go to a Sonic. This particular Sonic definitely killed my excitement.

Better than my first foray to a Sonic 3 years ago in Dover, De where I was served feeble fries from day old grease and a burger on a bun ravaged by freezer burn. My optimism assumed it wasn't indicative of Corporate's fast food model. Sonic Drive-In of Milford Mill offered improved fare. The Bacon Cheeseburger Toaster Sandwich with the works was doable. Most of it's zing came from the toppings than the flatly pressed patty. Bacon fairly bold. Maybe it was an off day for the acclaimed Tots as I found them aiight. The pineapple shake was the clear-cut winner with it's almost massive amounts of delicious pineapple and decadently swirled no holds barred whipped topping. As the novelty of Sonics finally being embedded around Baltimore has waned so have the immense crowds. Service was brisk and thorough with a pinch of friendly. While better than my Dover debacle, I can't call myself a Sonic fanatic. It's not in the upper echelon of my fast food burger exposures, yet definitely not crawling with the bottom feeders either. Overall, my recent Sonic jaunt's sitting somewhere just above the middle.

I am a HUGE Sonic fan! We lived in Texas for a year and when we moved back here, I had to go without for almost 10 years. This one is only about 15 minutes from us now and the service was great!

Stopped by for a late snack. My first trip to a Sonic ever. Ordered a few Chicago dogs and a meal with chili cheese tots. Food was presented in a clean manner and neatly packaged. Service was very fast and everyone was more than friendly. Will be coming back again.

After reading some of the reviews for this location, I was worried about going here. However, as its the only Sonic within an hour's drive, I decided to try it. Food was awesome and the service was beyond amazing. The carhop who helped us went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Can't wait to go back to this one.

Food is just okay. Drinks and shakes are what makes this place. When they run shake specials (usually during the summer after 8) the crew get lazy and decides to shut it down long before closing which I'm sure is not standard practice. Lots of money lost! I don't visit location much for this reason. The couple of times I tried the food, it did not sit well (burgers mostly), but slushees and then milkshakes are as I said before, the bread and butter.

  • Emily B.

I LOVE Sonic. One of the biggest drawbacks of moving from Texas to DC was that there would not be one around. I was thrilled, therefore, when I was visiting a friend in Baltimore and she mentioned there was a Sonic fairly nearby. We hopped in the car and went. Let's hit on the good first - the Cherry Limeade is just right, and reason enough to visit this place. Delicious and refreshing. Just ask for them to go light on the ice, or you will barely get any actual drink at all. The service was also good. Nice and helpful people are working there, which is great. As for the bad - the actual food was really lousy. I've been to lots of Sonics in my day, and I've always been impressed by how uniformly consistent their burgers and tots are. For some reason, this location is not doing such a good job. Our food was on the cold side, and definitely had not been prepared recently. The tots were not as crispy as they should be, and the burgers were down right bad. It was disappointing. Hopefully they'll improve this soon. If they did, we'd certainly be regular customers.

I remember seeing Sonic ads on TV years ago, but at the time, there weren't any that I knew of in Maryland. I was pretty excited to learn recently that there's one about 20min from my home! We went on a Sunday night. It's located in front of a Shoppers Food Warehouse, so I'm betting that at certain times, getting in and out would be a little wild. My dining partner and I were in a hot dog mood, so we tried a sampling - New York, Chicago, Kickin' Coney, and Chili Cheese Coney. At the last minute, I tacked on a small order of Chili Cheese Tots. I'm really glad I did! They were excellent. All of the dogs were delicious. The sport peppers on the Chicago dog were such a nice treat - they got it right! Also, the service was really fast (and on wheels, no less!). Both the person working the register and the carhop were super nice and went out of their way to be helpful. Obviously, it's not the most nutritious food in the world, so it's not going to become an all-the-time dining spot. And I wouldn't bring vegetarian friends here; doesn't look like there would be much for them. But we're definitely going back. I'm really keen to try the burgers, the desserts and the drinks. I'm just sad I didn't learn about this Sonic location sooner.

Oh how I love Sonic! I grew up in the south where there are A TON of Sonic's and am proud to say that one of my first jobs was as a car-hop. Needless to say I grew up on Sonic and thoroughly enjoy the retro feel! This sonic has a credit card option at the order screen, which is handy and awesome - a drive-thru which is convenient, but kinda takes away from the atmosphere - car-hops on skates, which is truly entertaining - and clean bathrooms. More pros: breakfast all day, sweet potato tots, tons of deserts and when our order was slightly messed up they gave us all coupons for free ice cream! Cons: NO FREE DRINK REFILLS ON SODAS! I haven't been turned down for a coke refill since the 80s! But overall this place is fun and it makes the list of places that I will drive out of Columbia to visit :)

  • Erika S.

I got to say, the best thing about this place is the service! The fact that I can sit in front of that screen and make a decision as quickly or as slowly as I want is extremely beneficial. The carhops are friendly and helpful which is a plus. My downside was on the food side. I just did not like the fries. Everyone speaks highly of the tots, but I have never been a fan of them (I hated the days they served them in high school. Yuck.). So I have to knock off a star because I was not completely satiated. Next time I will try something other than the fries.

I just tried this location today and it was nice, clean and friendly. I just got a Sonic Burger and it was tasty, wrapped in foil, nice fresh ingredients. My shake was delish. Service was great, I did not do the little "booths" I just went through the drive-thru and it was a long wait. I will try again, especially the s'mores shake someone recommended.

First review for this brand new location which opened just yesterday. Best Fast food I've ever had. Line moved quickly, no issues with ordering, food came to us quickly, staff was very friendly and always asked if we needed anything. I got a bacon cheeseburger toaster and for fast food that was so incredibly cheap the burger was juicy, toast was just right, bacon very crispy and lots of it, Tasty hickory sauce like it came from a real BBQ joint. Sandwich was big and filling. Tots large size is smaller than expected, but they tasted great, very crispy. Drink size which was also a large was unexpectedly small. I guess when you go to all those other places you expect this mega size so it could be good or bad depending on your point of view, but for the price it was right. The strawberry limeade tasted like real strawberries with a strong taste of sprite and a lemonade finish. It was an unexpected yet very addicting combo. I polished mine off in 5 mins and already I want another one! Sonic although only fast food is truly a 5 star establishment in all its forms.

Four stars for a fast food chain?? Not normally somewhere I'd visit or bother to review. But I'm so happy to find a Sonic in Maryland that I have to make an exception on both counts. The food is completely unhealthy and you should not eat it. Read the nutritional value. Even the grilled chicken sandwich has 21 grams of fat. Nothing remotely good for you. However ... visit Sonic anyway for their Cherry Limeades! Heavenly delicious drink, real, fresh-squeezed limes with a touch of cherry sweetness. Once you have one you are addicted. The best part is that from 2 - 4 all drinks are half price!

All I can say is....... THANK GOD there is not a sonic within 20 miles of my home. I would be 400 pounds by now. I am just glad they now have a Diet-Cherry Limeade. Extra long chili cheese coney and a diet cherry limeade = best lunch ever!

Our last 3 times here have been mediocre at best. This time was the last. It took the order taker 15 minutes to take 4 orders. He read them back wrong several times. We finally thought he got it right but no. The order wasn't correct and what was in the bags didn't match the receipt completely. Three strikes and your out. We are done.

LOVE this Sonic! I was lucky enough to be able to attend this locations grand opening. First of all, the team was wonderful! Everyone who worked there was so helpful, friendly, and they seem really happy to be there. The service was quick, and the food was on point - delish! I love the grilled cheese, the cheesey tots, and the peach ice tea - yum yum! I also treated myself to a Camp Fire Blast milkshake - it is only limited time, but sooooo good. If you have never been to a Sonic, or this location, I highly recommend giving it a try, it was fantastic!
