The brunch you need. The helpful service you want. Also, the strong coffee. Pancakes and waffles were so good they didn't need syrup. And the best scrapple we've ever tasted.

Very much southern: chicken and waffles, sweet potatoes, seafood Benedict! Ask to be seated outside - enjoy the Saturday morning on an old fashioned bridge stone paved street.

Not amazing and not horrible. Good option in the city with plenty of seating. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel with bacon. It didn't come with anything so I ordered home fries (couldn't resist) and fruit. It was all reasonably priced. The sandwich was a bit greasy but I ordered it with bacon so I couldn't expect much less. The bagel was okay - just a regular old bagel. Home fries were delicious and while I didn't want whipped cream on my fruit, it was a nice touch. Overall a good breakfast for not too much money. Most importantly, plenty of seating!

Yes, it's called Saturday morning but we were here for Sunday breakfast. Hidden down an alley and between two streets, Saturday Morning Cafe manages to have tables inside and in a small courtyard area outside. We sat inside at the bar because it was easy. Coffee was not so great. Bitter and too strong, I had to put milk and sugar in it to take the edge off of it. Food was ordered and prepared very quickly. My seafood omelet lacked in plating and appearance but was quite good otherwise. Less like a "seafood omelet" and more like a "shrimp omelet" as if there was anything other than shrimp in there, I didn't find it. The potatoes were okay, but had more onion and were more well done than I would have preferred. I'm not sure why they felt it necessary to garnish with five bits of lettuce and a slice of lemon, but hey, maybe that's the way they do it. Our waitress was friendly and exhibited an appropriate amount of hustle. We did not wait long for orders or for refills of coffee and she delivered the check without delay. Overall, a reasonable meal but I'd go elsewhere next time.

Good coffee but everything else was meh. While my eggs were cooked as ordered and potatoes were fine, the sausage tasted like those cheap processed meat. They also put pancakes on the same plate, and the pancakes were so mushy and yucky. It's a cute place and the staff is friendly, but she asked us sitting at the counter conversing during our breakfast if everything was OK like 8 times, which became rather annoying.

This place is worth the short walk from the Inner Harbor area for breakfast. We stayed at the Hyatt and walked 3 blocks to the cutest little old alley of Water Street to have this home-cooked meal. Loved the chicken and waffles, good coffee and wonderful service. The owner is a military man (airborne ranger) and very gracious. The ladies at the counter treat you like family!

Great service. Fabulous seafood omelette. Crappy fruit as a side - definitely not fresh. Would have been a 5-star review if it weren't for that. Tucked away on Water Street, the location is cute and quaint with a dining counter, as well small tables throughout. The restaurant has a great array of options, but what really made me happy was the fact that they serve BREAKFAST ALL DAY! For a brekkie like myself, that's makes for a very awesome experience. Not only do they have breakfast all day, but GOOD breakfast all day. My seafood omelette with provolone and veggies was one of the best I have had in Charm City. I will definitely be back... just won't get their fruit again. lol!

I tried to like this place but I definitely will not be back. I've come twice now and both times the food was such a disappointment. The first time I came I ordered the chicken and waffles. This dish was just one waffle with 3 small chicken tenders. It was just mehh. I couldn't believe that I had to pay $10 for this. The second time I came I ordered the banana foster french toast and this was worse than the chicken and waffles. The french toast was just topped with a few pieces of caramelized bananas, granola, syrup and powdered sugar. I'm not really sure why it was a bananas foster french toast when it had like three pieces of banana on it. The eggs looked gross and the sausage was just one cut in half. We also ordered a side of the breakfast potatoes and they were undercooked. Service was okay. We had two waiters taking care of us and one was super sweet and the other was very brisk. "What yall want?" is not really how I would expect to be addressed at a restaurant. And when we wanted to pay the bill we had to ask a third waitress to help us because the first two were nowhere to be found.

This place was a delight! The French toast was amazing. First time in a while I ate my entire plate at breakfast. I really wanted it delivered like they said was available on their website but they say said they couldn't. That was my only disappointment.

This place is a hidden gem. It has lots of charm. The food was delicious. I had the shrimp and grits. Very tasty. Our server, Ghia, was very nice and she even remembered my friends who had dined there previously. The owner is extremely friendly as well. I forgot my cell phone on the table downstairs and he went down there to get it for so I wouldn't have to go up and down the steps again. The prices weren't bad at all. I'll definitely go back. The only reason I gave it 4 stars would be because of it's location. It's kind of hard to find. But it's worth it.

Great food, pleasant service. A tiny bit pricey but seems like the norm for Baltimore.

Took a couple days off and visited Baltimore, specifically Inner Harbor. I am a big breakfast person, and I'm always looking for a good breakfast place. I was staying at Hotel Monaco and yelped some breakfast and happened upon this restaurant. I got the french toast dream (topped with strawberries and blueberries), side of eggs and bacon. I'm a big french toast person, and I've definitely had AMAZING french toast dishes in the past, so what I received wasn't anything super special, just your typical french toast. The breakfast wasn't bad at all, just didn't WOW me. I was also hoping for more than 2 french toast slices. Also. it did take a little longer to get the food out, but the breakfast bar attendant was very friendly and kept the coffee cup full! If I'm ever in the area again, I would probably see what else there is around Baltimore next time, but I'd come back to give it another go.

Here's a nice little joint tucked away in a small tiny street that's almost an alley. It gives it a certain panache. You'll find very nice staff working here and a plate of decent food, but not great or outstanding. Trying their Banana Foster Waffle, it is a plate of many things and certainly I won't go hungry or miss savory or sweet. It hits both notes. The eggs and bacon are fine, middle of the road. The waffle is supposed to be the star right? This is where it could have been better. The sauce and bananas were actually good, it was the texture of the waffle. Simply, it was under cooked. It wasn't raw or having pockets of uncooked badder. It was soft and just needed to cook one or two minutes longer in the iron. It needed a little crunch, but it had none. I certainly would be willing to try the place again the next time I'm in town. They have promising items on their menu and specials to give it another try.

Was empty when I walked in which made me nervous but once I saw the menu I was ok. Very homey feeling. Chicken and waffles was what I ordered. Chicken was okay and waffle was good. Coffee was great too and service was good.

Hmmmmm....sooo, I yelped this place to find a good breakfast to go to that was in walking distance of where we were. We are not from Baltimore. Cute little spot found in the cuts. We were not warmly greeted when we arrived. But still greeted. The lady who was our server kept asking us if we were ready to order like she was in a hurry....that was off putting. Ok, so went thru the pictures on yelp to get an idea of food we wanted to try. Hubby saw several nice pictures of a red velvet waffle and I saw a nice picture of a croissant sandwich. Took a lil long for the food to come out with only being 4 people eating at the spot. Anyways, my croissant came out looking nothing like the previous pictures on Yelp. My croissant was flat , hardly any eggs, and super greasy. My husbands waffle also came out looking nothing like the previous pictures. His waffle was also flat, a little gooey, and kind of dense with no flavor at all of a hint of red velvet. It was basically a red pancake. Husband said the mix tasted kind of rancid, like the batter had been sitting out...not to mention, the chicken fingers are typical frozen chicken fingers, and the pictures are of Actual cuts of chicken....hmmmm... Sooooo....I don't know if they have a new chef. But, we were both disappointed in our food. That chef should be hired. The next time we are in Baltimore, we definitely won't be eating here. But I will say, towards the end, the lady started to warm up and was a bit more friendly. But it is what it is....Blah.

This place is the perfect antidote to the stuffy overpriced breakfast options at the nearby hotels. Great breakfast menu -- a lot of options -- and good coffee. And the service is of the friendly, local variety that puts a little pleasure back into business travel.

Should you stop into this out-of-the-way little hole in the wall any time soon? Yeah, you probably should. Getting in with just enough time before closing, we got solid food and good, attentive service. I saw fish and grits on the menu and knew instantly what I was having for lunch. And it definitely was a righteous choice - creamy grits solidly dosed with butter and melted cheese, grilled fish (tilapia?) on top, with a warm and lightly toasted split buttermilk biscuit on the side. I'm-a gonna go back just so I can try their biscuits and gravy, 'cause these were just right - light and tender. With a bottle of hot sauce, this dish was a winner. I'm thinking you should be able to get a side of greens on request with this if you ask. Our ever-perky CM Elsa M. was my companion for the afternoon, and she ordered up the seafood omelet which looked fantastic, but disappeared so quickly I can't really be sure what I saw. The only mis-step of the day came in the form of some sad out-of-season mixed fruit that came with the omelet. Soft drinks and juices come in a Mason jar. Zeke's coffee comes hot and strong in a big, thick white mug. And it all arrives via super-friendly Kendra, who made sure we got everything we wanted. Seating upstairs is primarily counter service, with a couple small tables. A lower level apparently offers more table seating, but we didn't have time to check it out. That'll have to wait for when I go back for more of those biscuits.

Good place to eat. Coffee is fresh and taste good. Got the breakfast special. Eggs ok, potato great, bacon tasty French toast is not a good choice. Also making Homemade waffle would be nicer!

Decided to check this place out for Sunday brunch because the other place we had looked up on Yelp had a super long wait. The restaurant is kind of hidden on a small alley, but has a really cool atmosphere and warehouse-y look. There was a set of stairs leading to seating downstairs, but I didn't go down so I don't know what it looks like on the lower level. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived, but the servers were all super friendly. We perused the menu and decided on our orders. My friend ordered bananas foster waffles (which also came with eggs) and I got the Baltimore Benedict (crabmeat). The waffles were pretty good, but I was a little disappointed in my benedict because both eggs were overcooked. =\ Service was good and attentive; our waters were refilled promptly. At the end of our meal, we went up to the counter to pay.

The Saturday Morning Cafe was an excellent choice after walking the Baltimore Inner Harbor this morning. Hidden away just one block from the Inner Harbor this small cafe is a great place to relax and recharge before going back out into the crowds. The cafe has a 70's - 80's feeling and you feel right at home after stepping inside. There is an 11-person counter and seating for about another 8 - 10 people. Kendra greeted me with a smile and immediately offered a cup of hot coffee. The breakfast was Hot and delicious! I ordered an omelette with green peppers, onions and tomatoes. The veggies were diced very small which is how I like it. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and just right as well I believe I've found a new favorite in Charm City ...

Cute place w/ very sweet waitress, but the food was not as good (waffles were rubbery) and took a long time. Coffee was just ok too.

Cute little hole-in-the-wall joint with good n' greasy home style cooking. Just the thing us type 2 diabetics need in the morning. Great coffee, too. If you're looking to be over stimulated by the pretty waitresses, forget it. No waitresses. No waiters. You tell the nice lady behind the counter what you want, and she brings it to you. Wham, bam, thank you, ma'am! Maybe a little overpriced, but hey ... that's life in the big city. You want cheap stuff? Go to McDonald's. You want interesting surroundings, try this joint. Or the joint directly across the alleyway. Or the joint next to that. It's all good on Water Street.

Friendly service in this cute, mostly locals area close to the Inner Harbor. I had the Saturday Morning Skillet with 2 over-easy eggs with veggies and ham served over grits. Very hot and very fresh. It wasn't pretty to look at but delicious. The biscuit that was served with it was also fresh: soft and crumbly. My husband had the Baltimore Benedict and devoured it. If we have time this trip, we will return!

I wanted try the red velvet waffles but they were out of the red velvet mix that day :( sad So I ordered banana foster pancakes with sausage instead. I like the sausage, but I didn't like that my pancakes were contaminated with the sausage grease and tasted meaty. The pancakes were alright, not extremely impressive.

We came in for a weekend from New York City. Went here for breakfast before an O's game. Great chicken and waffles, decent prices, good friendly service. Very appealing menu. Place is a bit on the small side, and there was a short wait to get a table, but an old style establishment, something like that is to be expected. Would definitely go back.

Baltimore's Hidden Jewel. Never knew this place existed and I am quite grateful my Friend took me to this spot. A small cafe of sort with minimal cozy seating on the entry level and a nice spacious area in the lower level that is a great size to host a little party, bridal shower or Just a girls night. Now to the food. It is just like your home cooked meals. I had shrimp and Grits and the dish calls for pork bacon but the chef made it for me with Turkey Bacon. It was Devine. The Shrimp were flavorful and he actually makes home made biscuits just like my Grandmother used to make AwesomeSauce!!!! (Brought back Fond memories of my childhood) This is a breakfast/lunch spot leaning more on the breakfast side with a large selection of breakfast platters. Everything is made to order so it is Fresh when it is served. Also the service was Outstanding!!! Will the owner made sure we had everything we wanted and needed. He was very grateful we were there and told us we were his 1st customers since the riots happened the day b4. Shout out to Will for his Wonderful Service. YOU ARE AMAZBALLS!!!! Will i return again? Yes. Should You Check this Place Out? That's a Big 10-4!!!

You wouldn't expect this little greasy spoon to be nestled in the middle of a business district, but this place really packs in the customers. I sat at the bar and ordered the special Seafood Benedict. The coffee was bottomless and bold. The breakfast came out big, tasty, and incredibly hot.

If you only read this one line: DO NOT GO HERE! Opened late. Served yesterday's coffee. Overcooked eggs with burnt skin on one side. White bread is not whole wheat. No jam for toast. Reheated yesterday's bacon. Greasy! Highlight was the freshly opened carton of OJ poured into my dirty glass. But when your starving anything is good? Oh wait...

Looking for a no-fuss brunch place? Saturday Morning Cafe is awesome! We went for brunch on a Sunday morning, and this place is so hidden we wouldn't have known it was there if it weren't for the restaurant.com certificate we had. So glad we found it! Reasonably priced food with reasonable proportions, and it's delicious! The staff was friendly, and the whole place just had a comfortable vibe. They serve your standard breakfast and brunch fare, and have a few specialty Maryland dishes like a Baltimore Benedict, featuring crab, of course. I got chicken and waffles, which were delicious! The chicken was chicken tenders, instead of a chicken breast or wing, so it was much easier to eat with the waffle. Yummy! The only downsides are that the service was a little slower than expected, and they don't serve alcohol. So no boozy brunch-goers here - this is a more laid back crowd. But you don't need mimosas every Sunday! We already have plans to go back!

I ate here the other Saturday morning. I had the seafood omelette, which was really good, homes fries, and wheat toast. I also had the crab cake & french fries; what I didn't like about the crab cake was that some pieces of the shell were mixed in there (I assume by accident), and the fries were kind of limp and greasy. My wait wasn't long at all; it took a few minutes to be seated. I guess this was because it wasn't crowded. Also, our food didn't take an excessive amount of time to come to our table, and the waitress was nice and helpful. I had a pleasant experience. I would go back.

I really feel bad to give a not so good review because the staff is so friendly and the service was really good. Unfortunately the food really left something to be desired. I ordered the Seafood Omelette and my fiancé ordered the Breakfast Special with 2 eggs, pancakes and breakfast meat and home fries. I didn't taste his food but the sausage is just one link cut in half and my omelette has some shrimps in it and maybe a little crab meat? I couldn't quite tell. It's mostly eggs with some Old Bay seasoning. The home fries were a little soggy for my taste but maybe that's part of Southern cooking? With a coffee and and an orange juice our bill came up to more than $30. I have to agree with some other reviewer here, it's quite pricey for some really mediocre breakfast.

My family and I ate at Saturday Morning Cafe for the first time today and immensely enjoyed the food and exceptional customer service. My husband raved about the shrimp and grits and I devoured the SMC breakfast special before my husband had a chance to ask for some. Yes, it was that good!!! The pancakes were light but flavorful! Our server, Kristen, along with her coworkers, Shane and Candace, enhanced our dining experience by offering us water, coffee and meaningful conversation. Our family will return soon because you can't beat eating tasty food, in an intimate setting, while surrounded by good people at a reasonable cost!

Wow... What an utter disappointment! Read the reviews and on a beautiful Saturday morning drove downtown and after a little struggle found parking, thinking hey it'll be worth it right.!? WRONG! OMG! This place sucked! She ordered the Baltimore benedict... Muffin was not toasted ... Potatoes were almost raw... Hollandaise ssuce from a jar... I ordered the "loaded" Alabama grits. Totally undercooked.. Lumps of mesdy unseasoned grits. A little leftover salsa from a jar on top and a tiny sprinkling of bacon. I'm from Georgia folks... I know how to cook grits... Please do yourself a favor and skip this pretentious little dive... Did I mention WAY OVER PRICED... OH and who the hell takes 45 minutes to make eggs?

    1. flavorful seafood and well spiced 2. poached eggs well done 3. Crab cakes Consumed: Seafood omelette Seafood benedict Disclaimer: did not actually eat brunch here, since it was 3:30 pm when we consumed our email. Nonetheless, it was delicious! I really liked the eggs benedict. The crab cake on it was very delicious, crabby, meaty, savory in every bite. Mmmmm. I didn't really like the sliced potatoes as much though. It wasn't crispy or special. It was noticeably saturated with oil. The omelette was also pretty good, though I think it was just a tad bit overdone. I'd still recommend trying it out! Check in for a 10% off coupon! (Food tastes better when you save money ;) )

I came here with some friends hoping to get a great brunch and what we received was not too bad. I wouldn't go out of the way to come back here again, but the food was your average breakfast selection. Granted I am a brunch fanatic so my standards for these kinds of places are a lot higher than other meals. I went with my go-to eggs benedict and what I got was again, just average. I ended up not finishing it since a lot of the plating was potatoes that were somewhat undercooked. Service was also not the greatest. We appeared to have 3 waitresses? 2 were the main ones with one being far nicer than the other, and then after waiting 15 minutes to try and pay the bill we had to ask a 3rd to finally help us. This cafe was sub-par at best.

Restaurant was empty when my party of 8 showed up. Staff acted like it was an inconvenience to wait on us and the attitude continued throughout our entire meal. Several entrees came out wrong and/or incorrectly prepared. One entree came with a hair in it. And the attitude continued. And of course the automatic 18 percent gratuity was included. Will not be coming back. Very disappointed in the quality of the food but mostly in the unfriendly service.

I guess since I have to assign a star I will... Ugh where do I begin?! #Badservice #nasty food I was so excited to try this place out, it's so cute and I love breakfast food. It was close to the hotel I was staying at, just a short 5 min walk. My boyfriend and I were seated at the counter and given menus, all of the dishes sounded delicious and I couldn't wait to try the Saturday Morning Platter (scrambled eggs, potatoes, pancakes and turkey sausage and my BF order the shrimp and grits w/garlic toast & with a side of scrambled eggs. So after waiting no lie, 30 mins for our food to come out (Mistake #1) my plate has cold turkey bacon instead of sausage with the waitress saying ( "oh we don't turkey sausage so here's turkey bacon cuz everything else is pork") ... Mind you I eat pork bacon but not a big fan of turkey bacon *whatevs* (mistake #2). Also the pancakes were small and slightly burnt!! My BF shrimp and grits has 5 small shrimps on top of grainy grits with cold cheddar cheese on top with ripped turkey bacon and an ICE cold biscuit with burnt marks next to it. (Mistake #3)The side of eggs has a mysterious red stains underneath the eggs as he was cutting into them to eat. (Mistake #4) Luckily the kitchen messed up and sent two side of eggs so he started to eat the second plate instead. .. Half way through eating the grainy salt less grits there was a piece of long black hair underneath the grits of my bald BF's plate!!! (GROSS!!! Mistake #5) Last straw!!! The waitress took the plate and removed that from our bill but really the whole thing should've been comp'd...... Worse breakfast/brunch ever!!! Almost ruined my love for the best meal of the day! I'll never set foot in this place again!!!!

We asked the bellman at the hotel for directions to a breakfast place and he recommended Saturday Morning Cafe instead. I will hug him when I return, it was an awesome breakfast reasonably priced and cooked to perfection. And Candice our server was a hoot.

First time here. Food was good. Had a classic eggs Benedict. One of the poached eggs had a water pocket that exploded onto the muffin making it super soggy but it was the second half. I'm guessing it was something telling me I had had enough. Chris was very friendly and we will probably be back to eat here again. Very conveniently located to the Marriott.

I had the shrimp and grits and bf had steak omelet. The service was great. Staff is very welcoming and pleasant. However food is mediocre. I tried very hard to like this place, came twice using my groupons. Both times the food was just average, nothing to brag about. Most likely will not return.

Saturday Morning Cafe has so much potential! The service, awesome. I was worried when we walked in at how small it was, until they took us downstairs and lots more space opened up! They were able to seat seven of us with only 30 min notice on a Sunday morning, plus accommodate the 10% off deal from Yelp.Kendra, our waitress, was all smiles and brought everything out quick, not mixing up any orders. I love how they gave us a couple checkers sets to play with while we waited, how fun! I'm a child, I like games. The food is why SMC doesn't get a better rating from me. I don't think anyone got food that was more than warm, a couple friend even said theirs was cold. I ordered the strawberry waffles with whipped cream and scrambled eggs and sausage. There was literally one strawberry cut into three places on my waffle with a dollop of whipped cream the size of a strawberry... tell me that's not skimpy. I expect a strawberry waffle to have either strawberries in the batter or several of them on top. I was disappointed by that. My sausage was really good though and I don't usually care for sausage. Give more strawberries and bring out food when it's hot and then you've got yourself an awesome brunch spot.

This place is a really cute hole in the wall on a beautiful little side street in the inner harbor. The staff couldn't be more friendly and the food is great. Great breakfast offerings, many with a southern flare. Had the Baltimore Benedict for $13.99 and was delicious!

Our family of 4 visited during recent Saturday morning. After initially being told it was a 15-20 minute wait, we waited for well over 30 minutes before we were seated. Once seated, the servers were very friendly, although she kept saying our food was ready and coming right out and it still wasn't. Maybe she was trying to pacify us, but it only made matters worse. The food wasn't what I expected. I had the seafood omelette with grits. The omelette was dry, not very well seasoned, and tasted slightly burnt, the grits were hard and dry. I sent them back for potatoes which were ok. My husband and I shared a red velvet waffle that was fairly flavorless. Our children seemed to enjoy their chicken and waffles. The saving grace was the fruit infused water that was quite delicious! I'd be willing to try again at a less busy time.

Excellent food, excellent service. I'm a food junky so I know about great food and the food here was on point. I ordered everything on the breakfast menu. The French toast was well prepared and the batter that they used to make the pancakes gave the pancakes a nice fluffy taste. Home fries were made with freshly cut potatoes and the bacon had a nice crispness. The servers were great, they knew everything on the menu and knew what ingredients were used to prepare the dishes. I don't live in Baltimore, but I will definitely go back when I am in the area.

Visited a friend in Bmore and went here for breakfast. Food was great and all the employees were really nice. I had the biscuits and gravy which was great and my friends a biscuit sandwich and the shrimp and grits. I believe we all left full and satisfied. I would frequent this place if I lived in Baltimore.

I wrote a review before this place went under new management, and I had to update to say that they were able to keep the same homey, diner feeling but have stepped up their game! Last time my bf got the seafood omelette and it was really good but overseasoned (and trust me, it takes a lot for either of us to say that). Now, they still have it on the menu along with their other classic recipes but they've definitely fine-tuned everything. I had waffles with vanilla creme and it had to be the most ridiculously tasty sauce ever. SO GOOD! They said they make it from the actual vanilla bean, not the extract, and the result is a deliciously sweet but not overpowering waffle that doesn't need maple syrup at all. The owner was there and super friendly, saying he would like to get some local "regulars" along with the tourists and convention crowd. Done!! I did subtract one star for the burnt-tasting coffee. It was disappointing, but not enough that I won't come back (a lot).

It took over an hour and 30 minutes to get seated and get our food. While we were sitting and waiting for our food, we received out tea but got the milk and sugar for our tea about 25 minutes later when the tea was cold. Then they ran out of milk and two people in our party got our food first and the rest of us got our food about 20 minutes after. The wait was definitely not worth it got the small portion of food and the extremely slow service. Would not recommend. Edit: by the time we got 4/5 orders, my sister still didn't get her food and we had to wait another 15 minutes for her food. We waited far too long for all our food and the servers kept messing things up like not giving syrup or spoons with certain orders. DO NOT COME HERE Also we weren't even provided salt and pepper to put on our eggs. ANOTHER EDIT: When we FINALLY received our 5th order, it didn't come with the eggs that it should have come with. (We ordered two of the same thing and the second aka our 5th order came extremely late without the right components.) We are extremely dissatisfied. Last edit: after we got our 5th order, we waited about 15 more minutes and still didn't receive the eggs it was supposed to come with. At this point we just wanted to leave and everyone was in a terrible mood. Also the eggs my sister got for our 4th order weren't fully cooked so she just didn't eat them and we didn't care enough to wait another 30 minutes for better eggs. This is also my first review. This place was so bad that it compelled me to write a review to warn others. No one should have to endure such a despicable and deplorable experience, ever.

My roommate and I ordered lunch from here yesterday afternoon, and all I can say is that the food left a LOT to be desired. One of the items I ordered was supposed to be one of their 'bundt cakes' (for dessert). What arrived was a huge, very old-looking cinnamon roll that was not only stale but actually had one of the foulest tastes I have ever experienced. It was as if the dough was infused with moth balls or some type of chemical. It literally left a disgusting taste in my mouth that wouldn't go away. We had also ordered two salads, which were just okay but not really as advertised. We got two sides, one of their 'three-cheese macaroni and cheese' which had absolutely no flavor, and their 'loaded' grits, which had zero seasoning and were thrown promptly in the trash. Including the delivery fee and tip, we spent 40 bucks. What a waste. I will never eat food from that place again.

This was definitely the worst place I've ever been to and I didn't even stay long enough to try the food! The servers were extremely rude and my friend and I dropped the menus and left. The owner came asking us for what we want and telling us to move from one place to the other. While we were still ordering, he dropped the pad and asked someone else to come and take our order! One waitress came, took half of our order and handed us over to someone else! And when we thought that we will finally be served, the other waitress almost yelled at me for ordering my French toast without whipped cream and she had the worst attitude I've seen in my life! We dropped the menus and left! Service is about being respectful and accommodating and if you don't like that don't work in a restaurant! I'd never come to this place again and you'd be smart to do the same!

Found this place on Groupon and it was right in my back yard! I had the fish and grits. It was delicious. The fish was Swai and I've never had that but it was good. It comes with potatoes but you have to get the loaded potatoes! OMG! They are loaded with green peppers, onions, bacon and cheese. So good. Definitely the highlight of my meal! The staff here is so welcoming and friendly. Really good dining experience!

I expect more from breakfast from a restaurant that has "breakfast" in its name. Coffee is cold and weak. Hollandaise sauce is cold. And they don't toast their English muffins on the Benedict. What's up with that?? French toast is good though, but it's hard to mess up French toast. Nice service tho. Maybe it's the trip to the basement tables that makes everything cold. Maybe sitting at the counter is better?

The food was pretty good. Our server was very nice. The location is a bit confusing but it is on a cool little street, kind of hidden. It's kinda pricey but what do you expect when you're in the city.

We ordered some pretty standard brunch items. Eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes. First, our eggs and potatoes came out without the stuff we asked for in them (onion, pepper, mushrooms). The bacon never came. We had to ask twice for them to come. Our waiter was nice and he kept apologizing and saying that the kitchen staff was "overwhelmed". It was a Sunday at noon and the restaurant was not even crowded.. even if it was, a place that claims to specialize in brunch should be ready for action on weekends at noon. The final straw was that we ordered a red velvet waffle. We were all pretty excited for it and it took forever to come. To our dismay and utter horror, we pick up a price of the waffle and it is completely black on the bottom with little hairs in it! Did they feed us food that was dropped on the floor? I don't know but I do know we ended up paying nearly nothing after talking to the management staff (who was not the least apologetic). We made sure to still tip the waiter who was the only respectable person in the entire establishment. Do not waste your time or money here.

I was in Baltimore for a job interview and was told I had to try the crab cakes at this cafe. Not one to miss a food recommendation, off I went to find this really cute place slightly hidden away on Water Street. It was early so I easily found a place at the counter, which is what I was hoping for because I was alone. I ordered the crab cake sandwich, and it did not disappoint!! The bun was toasted and delicious encasing the fresh lump crab cake that was cooked to perfection. It was served with fries and a pickle along with a friendly smile, which is always a bonus! Chatting with the people at and behind the counter was a treat, too!! I am so glad I decided to come. If you want to go to a friendly place with both great food and service as well as a reasonable price, I strongly suggest you give Saturday Morning Cafe a try. I don't know if I will get the job, but it will not stop me from coming back the next time I am anywhere near Baltimore, MD! Never underestimate the local, small businesses. Their passion for what they do is what makes them so special!

My favorite Baltimore breakfast joint! It ain't fancy, but the food is tasty, the service is friendly, and the new menu is great. I last tried one of the new skillets, and it was delicious. The owner has upgraded his coffee vendor, so past reviews of weak coffee can be forgotten; it's very good. All in all, a great little place to meet a friend and get some great food!

This place is tucked away a side street, i had to wait a total of 5 minutes to be seated on a Saturday at 11am which is very reasonable. The waitress was super friendly, brought coffee immediately and was helpful with the menu. The eggs Benedict wit crab was super delicious. I would absolutely return here on my next visit.

Ventured to Saturday Morning Cafe for brunch with my honey about 2 Sundays ago. We asked for outdoor seating upon arrival, so I can't really speak on the atmosphere inside of the actual restaurant, but the outside tables, though sparse, were neat and tidy. We were eventually greeted by a seemingly irritated waitress, who was very vocal about her displeasure with how the hostesses were seating her section. I asked her about what fountain beverages they offered and she very curtly replied that they weren't offering any at the moment and that our drink selection would only be that of bottled beverages. I thought that was pretty weird for a restaurant, but I went along with it. The rest of our meal was fairly average. I ordered their breakfast special, which was comprised of fruit topped pancakes, 2 eggs, bacon, and fried potatoes. The food was good; nothing noteworthy, but decent enough for a 3-star review. The service, however, could definitely be better.

Thanks god for yelp or I never would have found this place!!! Awesome friendly staff, food was excellent!!! I had an egg sandwich with turkey bacon on a toasted croissant. The eggs were great, turkey bacon cooked perfectly. My 5 year old had the waffles with fresh strawberries & blueberries on top. The waffles looked awesome, although I did not try them, my father did and said they were great.v Next time I'm in Baltimore, I would definetely go back.

This place was awesome and such a treat! Great, friendly, fast staff! It is definitely a must go to whether you are a visitor to the city or a local! I loved the shrimp and grits and the waffles! Sunday brunch was definitely the highlight of my day. In comparison to other brunch spots in Baltimore is say this place ranks up top. I loved the casual atmosphere, ideal location. I went around 1pm and the staff said that I'd just missed the crowd. So perhaps calling ahead for wait time is a good idea. I'm a local and it put me in the mindset of being out of town, New Orleans feel to the spot. Love this place, do visit!

Surprised how good the coffee and service was! Food was pretty good. I had the seafood omelet which has shrimp and crab meat. There wasn't much crab meat but the shrimp was delicious inside. The home fries were a good choice for sides--breakfast potatoes with I think cheesy garlic seasoning? Whatever it was on top was a great touch. The waitresses were very friendly and the place was cute and quaint. Be prepared to possibly wait 30-45 minutes for a table. Luckily I was with only one other so we just waited a few minutes for bar seating. Overall very pleased and would go back for more!

Fast, friendly, and the food is beyond delicious! Definitely a hidden gem! I have a major sweet tooth and conveniently work less than a mile from here. Hubby and I stumbled upon this place while walking to the inner harbour and we were glad we did. It served a good solid country style breakfast! The servers were super friendly, efficient, and attentive. I would say the food is amazing but it's definitely good. The restaurant definitely has a true diner feel- nothing fancy but clean and a pretty typical "mom and pop" sort of place. Because we were just looking for someone fairly quick, inexpensive but still good and a "Baltimore-y" type of experience, this fit the bill perfectly! p.s. Hubby was pretty sure they put Old Bay in his biscuits and gravy! haha it doesn't get much more Baltimor-y than that!

Second time at this place because of a living social coupon. Service was quick and pleasant just as I remembered the first time. We decided to sit outside. Drinks arrived shortly after, water and lukewarm weak coffee. just as i remembered before. Most people complain about a wait time for food but this time I felt as though the food came way to fast. But I realized why. Not sure how much of the food is already prepared but when it did come out (all of 10 min max post sitting) everything was cold. I ordered the French toast dream, my friend ordered the banana pancakes and because we had $30 to spend because of the coupon we ordered the shrimp and grits because I remembered how flavorful they were the first time. Again everything was cold, tasted usual but cold. I also remembered a cheese sauce being on top of the shrimp and grits not unmelted shredded cheese. I told you it was cold, hence the unmelted cheese. When the exceptional/personable waiter Candice came to check on us and ask us how was everything and we said cold, she immediately took the shrimp and grits off the table an said that she would heat them up. In the microwave I guess but what about everything else that was cold? And off topic a little, I work with and know personally former cancer patients that do not eat any food that was microwaved out of fear of the radiation so her doing that could've been considered unacceptable for someone else. My boyfriend in particular had he been with me. Although Candice was wonderful and nice she could use more training, just as I remembered before at my previous visit to this place. I remembered thinking the whole staff could use more training and after interacting with Candice and the two cooks that I met I still feel the same. Why didn't I return the cold food or make a big deal about it? Simply because it was too pretty too lol. I'm a sucker for presentation. And the four stars is simply based on the presentation, price range even without the coupon but that did make it better and the potential of what I know this place can deliver. Would I eat here again? Absolutely.

Pretty decent place. Been here few times on business trips and its hit or miss. Coffee is always hot and good. Service can get iffy depending on the day. All in all its close to my hotel and the food is half way decent.

A group of friends are I were in Baltimore for a long weekend for a photography convention. I, being the avid Yelp user, pulled my phone out for a great brunch place. We had woken up late after a long evening and wanted a good hearty meal. After some searching I came across the Saturday Morning Cafe. The cafe had wonderful potential with cute decor, charm and a wonderful wait staff. Unfortunately, the food fell short on our visit. Im not sure if they were stressed at a large table of 8, or maybe the food is always mediocre, but it was just average. My crab Eggs Benedict would have been a hit if my, and all the others at my table, eggs had been properly cooked. You may as well of put a hard boiled egg on top of my high priced meal. All in all, I would try it again.

Today was my first time here and I must say it was a great experience for me and my love. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the friendly staff. They asked us what we wanted to watch as we sat at the bar waiting for our order. Our order didn't take long at all. I ordered the Three cheese omelet w/ spinach, green peppers, and onions complimented by potatoes, and Turkey sausages. It was so yummy. My love was just as pleased as I was. I would definitely recommend this place and come back to support this locally owned small business.

The food was good the service was slpw. I ate the shrimp and grits with a side order of eggs and it was good. It took a while for the waitress to bring our drinks. Free wifi and the ability to eat outside were positives. The prices are a bit high too but not too bad.

This place was not at all what their web site would suggest. Just a dive diner. Ugly tables, a waffle that was spongey and not homemade, and overcooked eggs and bacon. Service was pleasant, I'll give it that.

What a terrible way to start a day. The location was great and the building quirky, just like we enjoy. However, the real measure of any restaurant is the service and the food. At Saturday Morning Café, both are lacking. The establishment was not busy when we went at 9:30 on a weekend morning, but they were out of orange juice, which is unusual for an eatery focused on breakfast. Odder yet was the fact the server didn't tell us they were out; instead when we inquired about the missing juice we had ordered, she told us that somebody was running to the store to get us some and we should have it in the next 10 minutes or so. This same server disappeared with my coffee mug to get a refill. When she came back 5 minutes later, she forgot the coffee. Came back 5 minutes later yet with it, but by then I was done eating - in part because the food was so unappetizing. One serving of bacon had some odd green spot on it. Another member of our party was handed a small plate that vaguely resembled bacon but was actually slightly warm white fat globules. Add in the cold runny scrambled eggs and that was enough to assure that we'll not go back.

My two kids enjoy their kids breakfast. It is right portion for them. My hubby had the seafood omelette which was awesome... Lots of crab in there. My breakfast platter is cooked to perfection. Service is rather slow which we don't mind since we are on tourist mode. There are small seating on the ground level. More seating are on basement. I suggest they place real sugar jar on every table or at least accessible to the patrons. I dislike subs sugar but I had to use them since nothing was around and the server was busy. Price is all right considering the portion. I will be back if I visit Baltimore again. Price

This is the place you'll want to bring your family to. Short walk from the Marriott we stayed at during Comic Con, the owner remembered NY friend who came here once before years ago and brought us out a fruit plate on the house. He is extremely friendly and personable and adds to the great food and great vibe this breakfast spot has. Highly recommend you eat brunch here on your weekend stay in Baltimore.

I hate to be such a naysayer but I am very surprised at all of the good reviews for this place. I was unimpressed by most everything from the decor to the service to the food itself. The restaurant is pretty makeshift in design. The service was very polite but very slow. I think there was one waitress for the whole restaurant. The beverages were served in paper and plastic cups. Cold beverages were served without ice. We ordered coffee and did not get creamer or spoons. They did not have Splenda. When we asked for creamer we got some little to-go cups, with coffee mate 'creamer' in them rather than real milk. The food was not well cooked nor was it well presented. Many components like my biscuits and my friend's French toast seemed to be frozen or packaged foods that were heated for serving. My eggs were cooked in burned grease which really ruined the flavor of them. My friend's home fries were deep fried potatoes that were cooked in grease that was the wrong temperature so they were very greasy and brown on the outside but still raw in the middle. I ordered a Cobb salad to go. Picture attached will give you a sense of what I mean about presentation. Everything kind if hacked up and thrown together. I will not return nor recommend.

Great ambiance, food and service. 5-Stars would have been a shoe-in if they had BEEF BACON;). We will be back on our next visit to Baltimore. We had Belgium waffles, french toast, home fries, turkey bacon , and eggs. I even tried the fruit infused water, which had good flavor. The chef came out to advise the wonders she could do with the waffle flavors next time! Best of all, $60 bucks fed a family of four.

Went here on a Sunday morning at about 9:30. We sat at the counter and had a main server and another guy helping out too. They were both excellent and very attentive. The young server was friendly and just the right amount of chatty. He was adorable. He got condiments for us immediately without even asking and kept on top of coffee refills too. I had the veggie omelet with hash browns and wheat toast. The omelet was just the right size and had a ton of veggies! The veggies still had a little crunch to them, which was perfect. The omelet was fluffy and delicious. The hash browns were AMAZING. I want to eat them for every meal. Our server said they deep fry them, and they were clearly very fresh. My toast was ok, just toast. No complaints. My husband got steak and eggs, with eggs over hard. The steak came with peppers and onions and the eggs were perfectly cooked. His hash browns were great too. Definitely recommend it if you have a chance. Great food, great service.

Better than a starbucks, and there's side parking. I liked this place especially because you can order online (or delivery if it's enough money) and pick it up and go. Located in downtown, i haven't seen a coffee shop that really offers lox bagels very often. At least not where i'm from and that was a nice surprise. The woman on staff who was working the counter was so sweet and smiley and that was a real treat in the morning. I also liked the fact that it was intimiate. Sweet folk in a all too "rushy" starbucks world. Go here.

I love to go on brunch adventures to find a new spot with great food options. I found this place on yelp and so my friend and I decided to give it a try. It was kind of confusing trying to find this place because it's down this tiny side alley so if you're trying to GPS to this place, it might take you a couple of tries to find the tiny street. Now onto the food and service. When my friend and I walked in, the hostesses seemed very nice and our waitress was very friendly as well. I ordered a water and a coke because I like to have two different drinks when I'm eating. My friend got a cup of coffee. For my meal, I ordered the biscuits and gravy and my friend got the red velvet waffle with a side of bacon. My gravy had this really weird flavor to it that I thought I was imagining until my friend tried it and agreed. I can't quite describe what it was except that it was not very pleasant. My friend's waffle was pretty hard and not that warm. He kind of had to saw through it was eat it. My friend never received his side of bacon and I never received my coke. Our waitress did not really check on us either so my friend ran out of coffee and I ran out of water. After a while, our waitress finally came back and my friend reminded her about his bacon and my coke. She came back probably 10 minutes later, just with my coke. She never refilled his coffee. We didn't finish our food and didn't ask for a to go container either. And they charged us for my friend's "bacon." We were still hungry and hugely disappointed in our meal that we actually went to The Bun Shop afterward for our second meal. Overall: weirdly flavored gravy + neglectful service + no side orders + no refills + getting charged with something that we didn't even receive = next time I will skip this place altogether and find one of the other awesome breakfast places to eat at in Baltimore.

Breakfast was delicious! I had the apple pecan french toast. The perfect amount of sweet. With two fresh eggs and bacon, it was the right amount. My boyfriend ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits- biscuits were perfect!! Light and fluffy. Our waitress, Kendra, was terrific! Smiling, attentive and friendly. There were regulars there when we arrived, I can see why! Food, atmosphere and great service.

Came here in a bit of a hurry on a busy Saturday morning. The server was VERY friendly and made the whole visit worth it. I ordered the red velvet Waffle thinking that it would be amazing. They've only been open just over a year, but Saturday Morning Cafe does it right. We were visiting Baltimore from NYC for the weekend, and went here for breakfast, and my wife and I were so happy with our meal, we went back on Monday before we left town. Both visits were 5-star all day. I spent a number of years living in Georgia, and I'll tell you... this place has the best Shrimp and Grits I've ever had. Better than anything Savannah had to offer. The grits were homemade and fresh, with great taste and texture. A little Old Bay goes a long way, and unlike everywhere else in Baltimore, they use the perfect amount. I lived in Los Angeles too, and these Chicken and Waffles put Roscoe's to shame. From Georgia to Compton, there aren't any better. ZERO grease, tons of flavor. I live in New England now, and the Crab Benedict is better than any seafood based breakfast I've ever had. Top it all off with the friendliest owner who made great converstaion while serving us, and you've got a gem. Try the Saturday Morning care on any morning, and you won't be disappointed.

My family was on a Make-a-Wish trip with my daughter to meet her family after three long years in the hospital and on our last day in Baltimore, we decided to go somewhere for a family breakfast. We chose this place because it said that it was great for groups. When we arrived, the upstairs area was too small to accommodate our family so we were ushered downstairs. When we started ordering drinks, the waitress, who kept saying over and over that it was only her second day, told us they had a new policy that if there were over 6 in the party you needed to call ahead. There isn't a policy on the website or posted at the restaurant. We apologized for the inconvenience and then again when our last family member arrived, she told the table about the policy and that she had been chewed out from her boss over it. The food wasn't fantastic and I am glad it was cheap because I wouldn't have paid more for it. The service was even worse. The supervisor apologized but I doubt any of my family members will be returning and I know that we never will when we are in the area. Don't waste your time at this place and keep walking for a better breakfast and service. The only reason for one star is because I couldn't post this without it. Not worth a half star!

Very small diner-type breakfast spot with super-friendly service staff and tasty food. I was excited to try the red velvet pancakes, but I did not find much red velvet taste. BUT my friend and I shared - and she got the bananas foster french toast and it was friggin' awesome. It's not fancy, but it fun and a real local favorite.

30 minute wait for a seat, freezing cold inside, 45 minutes waiting for food. Ordered the Baltimore Benedict, absolutely terrible. Doughy English Muffin, Hollendaise out of a jar, undercooked potatoes with powdered parmasean cheese, and a big pile of wilted salad greens for garnish. Yuck. Left and went over to the Metropolitan in Federal Hill for real breakfast.

The owner of this place obviously has the desire to create a place where people feel comfortable and have an experience where they can laugh with friends, enjoy family and have an enjoyable experience. Our waitress on the other hand, was extremely, noticibly nicer to other customers of another race. My friends and I thought it was just "her way" you know some people can just have that straight forward demeanor and presentation, not often in customer service but nevertheless, it happens. She was short with us and rude, she cut us off, didn't offer suggestions and when we asked her a question she answered as she passed without stopping and we had to confer over what exactly the answer was given by her. We thought, perhaps that's just her way; But when we saw her go over to another table with a COMPLETELY different demeanor we just gave each other a look. You know "the look". It was so blatantly obvious the difference. She was nice, offered suggestions, smiled pleasantly and quickly gave them ordered items. In fact, I don't know if it had to do with the fact that we sat at a table and these other guests sat at a counter near us, there were also guests at the counter in front our table who seemed to be better treated. We ordered, she went off, assuming she serviced other guests, she came back gave us tea and coffee and the other couple arrived. They ordered, steak and eggs (two platters) and we ordered omelets and French toast. They received two orders of steak and eggs before our order came out. How?????? Then my French Toast was cold (the manager did order him to remake the plate) but my friends orders were mixed up. They just ate them. This place has great potential and loved the decor and menu but our experience was less than favorable. I thought the other reviews over exaggerated about the service being the way it was but no... I'm afraid it's not good (for people who apparently look like me and my friends- even though our server looked like us) but for others the service seemed superb. My only regret is that I didn't consult the manger before I left to let him know how terribly disappointed we were. I ALWAYS tip 20% or more, even on service that's not the best I leave a 10% but I felt so disrespected that we left no tip this day. I would still recommend that others go because not everyone has the same experience. Obviously and as witnessed by us.

When first arriving we were greeted by uninterested employees for a wait of 25 minutes which was fine. We came back and were seated on time. We ordered our food but it took an hr for simple things to come out and they came out one person at a time. The French toast was cold, eggs Benedict was basically a hard boiled egg with a wannabe fried crab meat on top and no Benedict sauce(was super dry). One order was wrong and the pancakes were basic. Service was super slow and lackluster. Prolly will only come here if I was desperate.

This is my favorite place in Baltimore! Every time I come here The staff is so sweet and funny! Candice is the BEST! The food is consistently delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic! I will always stop by!

This little place is perfect. The food is great and the service is awesome. I love finding little local places with charm. I had the seafood omelette, and my friends had the chicken and waffles, and the shrimp and grits. We all loved our food. This was a great find. Definitely check them out!

After a week of looking for somewhere nice to eat in Downtown, I finally found this humble little nook in (almost) plain sight. As many times as I patronized the Water Street Tavern, I somehow managed to not notice the Saturday Morning Cafe right across the street (alley?), but boy am I glad that I did finally spot it. I ordered the Baltimore benedict and a glass of apple juice (no grapefruit juice, unfortunately). The apple juice was served with ice before I'd realized it was happening, and watery juice isn't exactly very exciting, but that was a minor issue. My benedict, on the other hand, was fantastic. It wouldn't have won any beauty pageants, but the eggs were perfectly cooked, and the rest of the components and seasoning were spot-on. Certainly better than the benedict from another breakfast café I could refer to by Inner Harbor... Service was also very personable, and just as timely. At any rate, my only gripe is that I'd have expected some cheaper breakfast options, given the character of the place - though of course I ordered a meal with crab cakes anyway... But still, the prices are nothing too salty in the scope of Baltimore in general. I can't complain too much. All in all, if you're staying in the downtown area and free hotel breakfast food won't cut it, this is the place to be. Do recommend!

Usually when I come to Baltimore, I head to Miss Shirley's. I arrived this morning and the wait was way too long, so I hit up Saturday Morning Cafe for the first time. I'm really glad I did! I had the chicken fried steak, with some eggs, potatoes and a side of turkey bacon. Service was AWESOME. The staff was really attentive. I loved the flavor of the chicken fried steak, and my eggs were a perfect over-medium. If I had one complaint, and yeah this is pretty trivial, it's that the chocolate milk was straight from a jug. I love my chocolate milk mixed and stirred on the spot. But if that's my only complaint, you have a pretty solid business. I'll definitely be back.

Small Cafe, family run business, great hospitality and service. Stopped for breakfast, Co worker ordered the "seafood Benedict" absolutely delicious. I ordered the nana foster. I would have given the place five stars, but the bacon on my plate was extra crispy. Definitely will come back to try more of the menu items.

Good breakfast spot! They serve breakfast all day. Tucked away only a few blocks from the Inner Harbor in a quaint alleyway. The service was great! Our waitress and the manager were really nice. Food came fairly quickly. Outdoor seating is available and perfect on a nice day.

I found out about this restaurant from restaurant.com and decided to stop in and give it a try since they serve breakfast all day. It's located on a quiet corner on Water Street and had a cozy setting. The staff there was great and treated us as if they've known us for years. The food was excellent, which delighted me and my lady. I would definitely go there again and would highly recommend it to others.

I find the Saturday Morning Cafe after much difficulty finding this establishment. I am quite aware of my surroundings seeing as how I am in Baltimore, which is the armpit of the United States. Oakland is not as bad as Baltimore because Oakland has SF and Silicon Valley as back-up. Chokeland also has Lake Merritt. Three-bedroom homes in Baltimore can be found for as cheap as $2,000. I'm not making this up. If you were to click on this link ( realestate.washingtonpos… ) one year after the original posting of this review (February 16, 2015), the listing would remain available and the price would have decreased. Making fun of Baltimore is too fun and convenient. I'm sorry. I finally walk in to the cafe and am greeted by the hostess. She brings me downstairs to an avant-garde furnished, exposed-brick basement. The Olympics are playing on the flat-screen television. An older man comes by and eagerly asks if there is something I would care to drink. I select the herbal green tea, but then a younger man comes out and amusingly asks if I would consider a de-caffeinated green tea. I say sure, but I do think to myself "You know, I can't believe they don't have real tea, [but as The Cure once said in the song "Killing an Arab"], 'whichever [drink] I choose, it amounts to the same: absolutely nothing.'"I reassure myself that it doesn't really matter what drink I ultimately choose. She ordered homefries and the three-cheese, three-egg omelette, while I ordered the berry oatmeal. The oatmeal was quite good. They put brown sugar in that jaunt, and the flavors come together for a powerful punch. I would recommend this item. It is only three dollars. I graciously accepted my date's offering of her homefries. I took only two homefries so as to not look like a fatty. They were good. The atmosphere is informal, and this place must be where the locals go. I like it.

You know how people always say the sequel is never as good as the original? Well, in this case the opposite couldn't be any more true. As blown away as I was with my initial visit, today's visit was somehow better. I'd only been once before and I was greeted like an regular - which surprised me, but knowing that the staff takes the time to remember all of their patrons, it let me know that I'm not just another order to them. Besides the friendly atmosphere, there's the food. I tried to get completely different items during this visit and I'm now working under the assumption that EVERYTHING there is amazing. I meant to take a picture of my dish, but I found it almost impossible to let it just sit there to take a picture when I could have been eating it. I highly recommend a visit - I doubt it would be your last.

I really enjoy the vibe the servers gave. So friendly and quick. I'm from Cali so if you're from Maryland I would highly recommend this for breakfast! It started my day off great. The place is quite small, but that is great so that you can talk with your friends and family. Even if you go alone the servers are friendly and energetic so you can talk to them.

This place serves wonderful breakfast all day but also has a nice menu for lunch with sandwiches, burgers, salads and chef selections. Chicken and biscuits seem to be a crowd favorite amongst the diners today. The pancake is huge and delicious and served with some whipped cream and strawberries. The side biscuit I had was split and grilled. It was really great and the unexpected honey drizzle on the biscuits was a lovely touch. Eggs your order, breakfast potatoes and crispy bacon rounded off my meal nicely. Ambience is really casual though businessmen and walk ins dine together on their large diner-type counter. There is a lower level with additional seating (tables) but the experience is enhanced by sitting on a stool and chatting with the lovely staff. Friendly with smiles to share, they make you comfortable and are very attentive, particularly with keeping your mug of coffee hot and full. Anyone who loves breakfast with a smile will love this place.

This place received raving reviews so my bf and I were excited to try a new brunch spot. Worst idea in a while. There seemed to be some drama with the chef because half the room was disgruntled when we sat down. The neighboring tables kept complaining about the long wait. We overheard the servers bitching about a chef to other customers... Meanwhile, we waited for over 45 minutes w/o anyone coming over to check on us or refill our drinks. The food that came was cold--my eggs were rubbery and my bf's waffles were salty & undercooked. I hoped that the food would compensate for the service... Maybe it was just an off day.

We found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try based on the reviews. The owner is very friendly and will engage in conversation with you. I ordered the chicken and red velvet waffles. The waffle was dry and didn't have flavor. However, the fried chicken was some of THE BEST fried chicken I've ever had It was well seasoned and hot. My fiance had the seafood omelette. It wasn't satisfying. The eggs and meat weren't seasoned and the omelette just had old bay sprinkled on top. Nice owners and decent food overall.

Shocked at all the positive reviews. Feel duped and robbed. We sat down and was suoer excited to try a new place with my daughters. Ordered the sausage gravy n biscuits and my daughters split waffles Baltimore fantasy something... First off, maybe only my issue but when I want breakfast I want great coffee first! Coffee was ok but served in a styrofaom cup? Ok odd maybe just me but feel like I coupdve just walked across street and gotten coffee at 7-11 and brought it in. Secondly, waitress forgot to give me coffee ordered. Food was bit cold and just pretty extraordinary ordinary. Left regretting not spending the extra bux and going to miss shirleys. Will not return :(

When I initially came here, I was not in the greatest mood. First day off in weeks, and I had my heart set on some of the more trendy brunchy spots. After all, scrambled eggs and toast is something i could make at home. But my boyfriend found this place, and in order to prove him wrong (he says I never let him decide things) I agreed to check it out. The food, though not the most interesting twist, was hearty and tasty. What I will make a note of is the owner. He is friendly & warm while still giving us some time alone to enjoy our food. The small homey feel melted my scroogy heart. Its a wonderful place to enjoy your basic brunch with an atmosphere that feels like your favorite Uncle's diner. We got the pancakes with fruits...and loads of coffee. I waddled home pretty satisfied.

Loved it. This place is as classic as it gets. The service was all family and cordial. Made sure I had cold water and hot coffee. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and I eat eggs a lot. Their potatoes were off the charts AMAZING! Its not a huge place, but we sat at the counter and felt like we were right home and treated like regulars. What a find.

It was a Sunday, and a group of my friends from work and I were in Baltimore for a conference. We decided that we didn't want to eat conference food, and decided to venture out to get brunch at Saturday Morning Cafe. Upon walking in, we were rather concerned with the size of the place--though turns out there's a lower level with much more seating. Service was only ok (one of our group asked for turkey bacon, but turns out it was regular pork bacon...oops), the coffee left something to be desired (or maybe I was just too caffeine deprived), and food was fairly standard...not particularly memorable one way or the other. I think this is a tad expensive for Baltimore (having lived there a few years back), though I suppose being so close to Inner Harbor might explain that. Solid option, if you're looking for a no-frills, not-rocking-the-boat kind of breakfast option near the harbor, and you don't particularly want to go to a chain place.

Tried this place for the first time today after looking it up in a quick online search. i wasn't very impressed. We had to wait a good bit before getting any service, and had to ask each time for coffee and juice, creamer and sugar, then silverware, then the check. The food was nothing to write home about. I got the breakfast special with eggs overeasy, sausage, home frieds and pancakes. The home fries were hardly cooked and the overeasy eggs were not runny at all, and I only got one sausage. probably won't be coming here again.

A family owned owned business. It was good. Kinda of in the heart of downtown. Near the inner harbor. Got the breast special. I particularly loved the eggs, bacon and home fries. The pancakes were very small and was very disappointed with them.

Long wait for food. Okay at best for the entire table. The shrimp and grits are not seasoned well, soda was flat, eggs were raw. Chicken and waffle was the best thing.

Here it is, my first one star review. We were looking to try a new place for breakfast in Baltimore and were in the area and saw that there were good Yelp reviews so we decided to come here, and I really regret having come. Usually I don't mind sub-par service, but I experienced some of the worst service here. Everything took too long... the waters, the coffees, the food. We had to ask several times for the waters, then several times for the coffees, and then proceeded to wait almost an hour for our food. We're talking breakfast food here, not roast leg of lamb. We asked if we could have one of the doughnuts from the counter upstairs to hold us over while waiting for the food, and the waitress got into a five minute discussion over whether we wanted a normal doughnut or, as she said, "my doughnut." What?! She proceeded to tell us that she had fans, and that her doughnut was so delicious and that we had to try it. She seemed very adamant, and so we took her advice, only to realize that it was simply a doughnut cut into pieces with whipped cream and some sort of fake strawberry syrup... Strange. When we finally got our food, we were disappointed. One friend's waffles were cold, the avocado pieces on someone else's eggs benedict with the size of quarters, and my omelette was just not very good. No one thought that their most was made well or of good quality. There were insects crawling around on the counters (this was the middle of winter, too, not Peru in the summertime). We were fed up and pretty grossed out by the time we left. I will never come back here. I don't understand what we missed that so many other people seem to be happy about.

What a lovely little breakfast place! Saturday Morning Cafe is definitely off the beaten path, there's no doubt about it, and it's in one of the most unlikely spots you'll ever find! The husband and I were up early to take care of a few errands, so we decided to find a good breakfast spot. We tried a much-hyped restaurant in Station North that happened to be closed (a breakfast place closed on Saturday at 8:30am? REALLY?), so we were at a loss until Yelp suggested Saturday Morning Cafe. By this time we were both in desperate need of coffee, so we had nothing to lose but our grumpiness. As I'm native to this area, I knew that Water Street was very small, so parking would have to be accomplished elsewhere. We did find a good spot on Light Street about half a block away, and walked down to the restaurant. To our surprise, they had tables outdoors, in the shade, in a very pleasant, tucked-away atmosphere. We were immediately welcomed warmly and seated, with menus provided to us. The menu is NOT extensive. It's pretty basic, actually - eggs, breakfast meat like ham, sausage, etc., pancakes, waffles, and so on. They have some Southern staples such as chicken and waffles, French toast, a seafood omelette that I hear is to die for. But the husband and I wanted one thing - coffee, and plenty of it. We chose two "Saturday Morning Breakfast Specials", which is basically 2 eggs cooked as you like, with breakfast meat of choice, carb side of choice (pancake, waffle or French toast), and home fries, all for 9.95. Are you kidding me? Yes, please. The food was great. Eggs and sausage were fine, but they're hard to mess up. The home fries are what REALLY stood out here, in a positive light - they were cooked with nice pieces of onion and PLENTY of flavoring. The husband and I both loved them - they were definitely the standout part of the meal. The pancakes were... well, neither my husband and I cared much for them, but I soon found out why - we inquired about what they were made with, and they replied "buttermilk". Well.... pancakes made with REAL buttermilk will have a sort of sour-ish taste to them (I've eaten them a lot of times before). So the ingredients here are definitely legit. We just don't like the taste of buttermilk! Not their fault at all and we're not going to "ding" them for that. Coffee was bottomless and plentiful! And really good. Service was incredibly pleasant and friendly. Our server was always at our table, asking if everything was fine, did we need more coffee, how about napkins, etc. I think the manager came out as well to inquire. They weren't busy at first, but a steady stream of customers started to come in by the time we left. Most of them seemed to be just "off the street" - no one that came in had actually known this place was here. The atmosphere was wonderful. Today was a really nice day weather-wise, so it was extra special to enjoy the sunshine and the quietness of the morning. Who knew this place smack in the middle of the downtown district could be so quiet? Yet that's just what it was. It was the PERFECT start to our morning. The best part of all was that the entire meal, coffee and all, came to only 21 dollars. For two people. Try getting THAT at Miss Shirley's - I wish you the best of luck. This place is somewhat new - it's only been around for a few months - but it's already taken its place as one of our favorite spots for a weekend breakfast. If you want fancy "ambiance", sky-high prices and an interminable wait, you can shuffle it downstreet to Miss Shirley's. If you want a simple breakfast, with prices your budget can afford and immediate service with a big, friendly smile - Saturday Morning Cafe is your place to be. It's certainly ours. Tip for Diabetics: The Saturday Morning Breakfast Special at 9.95 is very versatile. Eggs, meat, home fries and a carb side - that's it. There isn't an overwhelming amount of carbs here (the fries are a very modest portion), and you can choose which carb side will give you the least trouble. They also have fresh fruit here, as well as other items such as salads, grilled salmon and seafood. Even if the Breakfast Special isn't for you, you'll have no trouble finding something here. Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor. YMMV. Seek medical advice and tailor my review to your situation. I simply provide opinion.

Had breakfast at Saturday Morning today while in Baltimore for work. Service was quick, everyone was professional yet working to create a relaxed comfortable environment for all the guests. Coffee was great, which is wonderful since I HATE when places skimp on coffee! Shrimp and grits were perfect. I eat grits all the time, and consider myself a bit of an expert since I'm regularly called upon to teach others how to make them. The entire dish was balanced and tasty! Love the food, love the atmosphere!

My DH and I wanted a nice breakfast so I used Yelp to find it and boy was I glad I did! We were greeted as soon as we entered with a friendly good morning. I decided on the shrimp and grits which had cheese, tomatoes, crumbled bacon sprinkled with Old Bay seafood seasoning and coffee (free refills) and my DH got the French Toast dream severed with scrambled eggs. All I have to say is OMG that was a good breakfast and my DH enjoyed his as well. It may be what some would call a hole in the wall but the food is hands down fantastic.

Really mediocre food. Even though you're looking for a good or new b'fast spot, keep going. Waitress meant well but was inexperienced and never did it right. The waffle I ordered "well done" because I wanted it crispy was served soft and barely warm. The coffee tasted like it's made with Harbor water. My wife thought her shrimp and grits were made with instant grits and they were cool. Cute name, fun street, cute decor. But the food was disappointing.

Great food (seafood omelet and potatoes YUM) great Baltimore feel on little Water street, great comfortable and friendly service with a little down home southern charm. Always nice to see the care of a family owned business. We will be back!!! We sat at the counter for that diner feel and the service and hospitality was great!

Hmmm. Went there because of the 4 star rating. Where did that come from? Not particularly clean place. Ditzy service. Random substitutions offered - ordered grapefruit juice and was asked if cranberry would be ok??? Ordered coffee and was asked if I wanted cream and was asked if hazelnut was ok. Odd. Food ok but nothing to write home about.

I was attracted by the great reviews on Yelp while on a recent visit to Baltimore. Alas, the food was nothing special. My eggs were on the colder side of edible, and my pancakes were made with batter that was too sour. Also, the french toast comes slathered in fruit and a fruit sauce, which isn't mentioned on the menu. Every food item was dry. On the plus side, the service was very good. That's about all I can rave about. Perhaps I went on an off day? Perhaps the main cook was out?

Awesome little, off the beaten path joint. So glad I found this place on Yelp. When you walk in, there's a lunch counter and then some tables and what looked like another dining room downstairs. Unfortunately, we were in a hurry and had to get our food to go, but I really wished that we could have stayed because the menu items all looked fantastic! The croissant breakfast sandwiches that we got were huge and super tasty. I would definitely return! Yum!

Had great chicken and waffles this morning with the kids. Service was great and fast. Home now in NJ and the kids were still raving about it. Best meal the whole 4th of July weekend at Inner Harbor. So glad we found this place and less than two blocks from the Hyatt. Will definitely go again the next time we are in town.

I tried this place late-morning on a Sunday. I'm here for a conference and Yelp directed me. I started with coffee and water. Both came fast, but the mug had lipstick on it. Beyond the dirty mug, the coffee was awful. I couldn't drink a full cup. I ordered an omelet and I couldn't finish that either. It was still runny in the middle and the cheese was just a slice put in between the folded omelette. For $13 plus tip, I would have rather gone somewhere else cheaper and tastier. One good thing was the service was fast and friendly.

Decided to try a new place to eat for lunch around inner harbor and found this place on yelp. Chose it because it serves breakfast at all times of the day. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. Five stars for sure. It's in this really cute, quaint little alley and the seating is mainly at the bar/stool area. It has a nice, homey, diner-ish feel to it. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress was so friendly and serviced our every need immediately, even before we knew what we needed. We sat down, she welcomed us. She asked us for our drink orders and I normally order water but she told me they had this special water infused with fruit.. I had to try and I thought it was very good! (My bf didn't think so, but he always just orders coke so...just diff of opinion I guess). She brought us ketchup and hunted down the syrup bottle as soon as we got our food. And she checked on us to make sure everything was going well several times. Very friendly lady!! My boyfriend ordered the French Toast Dream. Wow! It was a very large helping of delishhhh. 4 yummy pieces of french toast and several pieces of bacon comes with a mountain of potato and scrambled eggs. I got the Salmon BLT. Also really good! I ate the whole thing! (which is pretty good for me considering I usually eat half) A large hunk of salmon with BLT served in between this yummy focatta bread (I think thats what the bread is called??lol) At the end of our meal we were feeling quite satisfied... fat and sassy! Definitely would recommend!!!

This is a little hole in the wall family owned business. You walk in and first you notice it is a little small and intimate. Also very clean. The reason I know it is a family business is because... it seemed like the whole entire family was there. I mean not working either...just sitting in there. And the place is small to begin with. I felt like I was an outsider for a moment lol. Anyways.... the service was GREAT! I came here with a restaurant.com coupon. The guy that waited on us was very attentive and personable. he was nice even after I told him a had the discount coupon, which is VERY important to me. I got the omelet and my guest had the steak and eggs. My omelet came out fast, it was delicious... and had a "homemade" taste to it. My guest said the steak and eggs were "OK"... nothing to rant about. But I can say that the whole menu was moderately priced including the steak and eggs (which is always big points in my book). So for $12.99 the steak was quite tasty in my opinion :) I do subtract a star because it was VEEEERY apparent that the other staff (not our server) was "ready to go" as we had come in close to their closing time which in believe is 4pm. If coming at 2:30pm is "close to closing time"... I mean .... idk I'm definitely coming back here! The people are really nice :)

Wonderful little spot on a quiet side-street just off Inner Harbor. Lovely wait staff and friendly service. We enjoyed a nice Baltimore Benedict, with nice fried potatoes with chunks of onion. Wonderful sausage gravy/biscuits. We ate at the counter, but you can also eat inside or outside. Worth finding.

This place is overrated. The food is overpriced for the small portions. The eggs Benedict were undercooked (the whites were still liquidy) and made my husband sick. The crab meat on the Benedict was not in lump pieces and the portion of meat was tiny. The scrambled eggs tasted like they were scrambled with plastic, they were so gross and probably had filler. The service was okay but we did not get any refills and did not receive the napkins we asked for, nor do they provide anything to stir your coffee with (however the coffee is quite tasty). The chicken and waffles were ok but there were some funny tasting parts to the chicken. The location is cute but the floors were so sticky that I lost a shoe to it.

Stayed overnight after a concert and decided to have breakfast after a friend recommended it. Conveniently located behind our hotel, this hidden gem was outstanding. The 3 cheese veggie omelet with potatoes and turkey bacon was excellent. I asked for a pancake and I was given 2 mini flavorful crispy edged pancakes topped with whipped cream and sweet strawberries.....yum I tasted the seafood omelet and immediately regretted not ordering it. Will be back soon

Spent a long weekend in Baltimore. I was very happy to find this small and classic renovated restaurant near inner harbor. They have just opened for 2 year or so. Super friendly. Food is fair. I ordered seafood omelette, but was a bit disappointed about the seafood quality given it's a harbor city. Other than that, it's a good enough place to start my tour in Baltimore.

To be honest probably 3 1/2 stars. It's a cool little place to get breakfast. The food was not memorable, but it wasn't disappointing either. Service was prompt, and the whole vibe of the place is (to me anyway) 60's worker breakfast place. Come in - have some food - get out. If I'm in the area and need a breakfast - I'd stop by again.

This place has so much potential and what sucks is the food is good and the service was great but the price of the food is too high for what you get. My girlfriend and I both ordered the Saturday Morning Cafe Breakfast special. This special comes with 2 eggs, potatoes, choice of meat, and side of french toast or pancakes. The serving was skimpy. They only gave you 1 sausage link, 2 small eggs, a small scoop of barely cooked redskin potatoes and only 1 french toast. I repeat the only gave us one french toast. the french toast was also small. I will never neva eva eva eva go back to this place until they give me my $10 dollars back because if you have a breakfast "special" and you only get 1 french toast and 1 sausage link where is the special? You might as well order everything a la carte. They need to just stop playing and give us our money's worth because the food is good they just not serving enough for how much they charging. They need either drop the prices or give the customers more food.

Stopped in here this morning for breakfast around 10 am. We were greeted at the door and seated promptly at the counter. We were offered something to drink as we looked over the menu and the specials mounted on the board. Coffee was fresh and there were plenty of choices. I ordered the Saturday morning special: eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, and french toast or pancakes. I went with eggs over easy, bacon, potatoes and pancakes. My dining partner went for the chicken and waffles. Both were good, however, my eggs over easy had both eggs broken and the top side was quite brown. Not my style but OK. Bacon was great - crispy and not too fatty. The potatoes were flavored with rosemary and onion (the onion could have used a bit more cooking). The pancakes were also tasty, homemade, and buttermilk based. They were a bit rubbery, telling me the flipper was a little heavy handed in beating the batter. The chicken and waffles stole the show. The chicken consisted of two large breast pieces in a light batter that at first tasted spicy but was not hot at all. Light and crispy, it was a perfect foil for the homemade waffles. Unfortunately, there was no real maple syrup in sight. The decor is nothing to write home about but the place is clean. There is only one table, the rest of the seats are counter seats unless you want to eat in the basement dining area. I'm not very familiar with Baltimore, but Water Street is more like an alley. Approach from Light Street.

Was looking for a place within walking distance of our hotel while we were in town. We had a party of 5. We were seated quickly (it was a Tuesday). Services was quick and friendly. Food was good and prepared as we ordered it. Everyone ordered something different off the menu and was pleased with their ordered. I ordered the Southern Biscuits and Sausage Gravy. Next time I'm in town and we visit, I won't reorder that. It was probably the least attractive option that was brought to our table. The gravy was very runny and not a typical hearty Southern gravy. Just personal preference. Service upon check out was great. They made sure that we enjoyed our breakfast. When I mentioned finding the place via Yelp, I was given a 10% discount for using the app and finding the restaurant. AWESOME!

Great little breakfast place my family and I went to recently. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the service, food, and ambiance. The portions were a bit small for the price but we didn't leave hungry. My kids especially loved the pancakes.

Breakfast served all day? Sign me up. Food served quickly and was really good - service was even better. Will, the owner, was incredibly nice when I sat down and answered all of my questions about the BMore area. Definitely a place that I would come back to when I'm in town again. I much prefer to spend my money in a local joint than a chain. It was located close to the Harbor for tourists but not too far from other areas of BMore either (I walked from the Mt. Vernon neighborhood).

Went here based on ratings. Mistake! We ordered their breakfast special to split. Ordered a diet coke. It was flat. Changed to water. We waited 45 minutes. Waitress brought one totally different breakfast. Ridiculous after waiting so long. We told her to forget it and we would pay for drinks. She didn't charge us. Don't waste your time.

Great little cafe. Able to enjoy a good cup of coffee and not feel rushed. Food was great. Strongly recommend the Baltimore Benedict, filling and light enough to conquer the day.

I think people are being a little generous with the ratings? I admit, the food is good and creative, but the service was not good. Maybe they had an off day yesterday, but we waited a long time to get our food (and the server, Candace, said it was quick). Then when it finally came out, one of the guests was missing the egg ordered, the other guest did not receive his food until at least 5 minutes later. I'm glad the food was good at least. The presentation was very nice as well. It was also a nice, short walk from the inner harbor.

I was in Baltimore for a New Years eve dinner cruise. I woke up late and missed the free hotel breakfast. This turns out to be the best thing for me to start the new year. I asked where could I get a good breakfast. I was told about Saturday Morning Cafe. So after a short walk. I was warmly greeted. I was served my drink right away. It took me a few minutes to look over all the great choices. I decided on the Bananas Foster with French toast eggs and bacon. Minutes later my food was ready. Oh my it was so good. All the staff were friendly. I travel to Baltimore two or three times a year. I definitely will go back. Oh I sat at the bar and mother and her little boy came in and sat by me. The little boy ordered "The Policemen pancake". I didn't know what that could be. When his plate came, his pancake was shaped like a police car. It had a red light on top, whipped cream in the middle and wheels with chocolate spokes. He loved it. People were lined up waiting to get in when I left and I told them the wait was worth it.

The Benedict was very good, the coffee fresh, and the staff was the friendliest I've seen in a while. Great Southern food!

Absolutely love this place! My husband and I are from Houston and found this little gem on a trip. We came in for breakfast and my husband had the red velvet waffle special. I had steak and eggs (which is my regular favorite). We loved the atmosphere, food, and especially the staff! We came back again before leaving town and we had the red velvet waffles again, and I got the chocolate pancakes special. :) everything was so good!!!

Did I go to the same cafe as everyone here? This was probably up there with one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. My boyfriend has been here a few times before they remodeled the place and changed ownership, so he was dying to take me here. It is completely different now, and we were both very unhappy with this meal. Terribly slow service, mediocre food, rude waitor...where's the cute little ole lady my boyfriend raved about? I watch a lot of restaurant makeover shows, and the biggest problem with this place is the lack of staff. The waitor said he's in the kitchen cooking our food, taking our orders, running the cash register...come on, please just hire more people. Trust me, it'll help in the long run. 1) We waited for quite some time to order our food since we got seated in the black hole downstairs. You will barely get any attention if you are not sitting right in front of them on the main level. 2) My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs medium rare, and of course it came out well done. Why bother asking how you want the steak cooked? 3) I ordered the seafood omelet with onion, tomato, green and red peppers. After a grueling 30 minute wait, what creeped onto my plate? Some mystery cheese. He took it back. 4) I finally got my new omelet. Where on earth is the crab? I see the shrimp, but there was absolutely NO crab. I asked him and he said it's cooked into it. No, sir, I know my crab and I literally picked through it to find a piece of crab and found none... 6) He never gave me my toast which he promised to come back with. Bad dining experiences put me in a really bad mood, especially when it's bad service. $26 for this? Sigh...and we still tipped generously to help them out. If you work here, please remember that service is key to a successful restaurant.

The owner is very nice man who cooks and treats his staff very respectfully. He's handing out flowers to mothers this Mother's Day as I write this. The food is exceptional. I bought a groupon deals for five 10 dollars groupings for 25 bucks and found the cob salad and French toast club my favorite. Meals with water are no more than 15 and leave you full and satisfied. Shrimp and grits you may want to pass on. It was good but not the best. They have much better filling dishes. You won't be disappointed. Only one groupon per party.

There's something about a solid southern-style sausage gravy first thing in the morning that just starts the day of right. Eggs were done alittle more well than I'd have liked but the cheddar cheese they were topped with more than made up for it. I tossed in a side of potatoes which could've been crisped but it was still great flavor for a reasonable price and the staff was as friendly as could be. solid food, solid staff and a relaxing atmosphere. what more could you need?

Good home cooking, friendly staff and great value. Breakfast was yummy. We found it on Yelp and it was walking distance from our hotel. Staff was great and we received 10% for mentioning Yelp. They have been there since Feb. 2013. They have counter seating and a lower level dining area.

I have never had a cafe experience quite like this. The food was good (omelette, potatoes, bacon) and the atmosphere was amazing. I feel like I just ate breakfast in a friend's cozy kitchen. I wish I lived here so I could spend every Sunday morning in this cafe.

Visited at 10:30 on a Sunday morning (apparently a VERY busy time for this place). After waiting for 30 minutes at the counter and receiving just a cup of coffee and no other acknowledgment or service, we left.

I'm glad to be the first reviewer on this modest morning cafe .. Today when I was heading to work , I decide to take my brunch there, Maybe the place needs more heed, but I was satisfied of serves and the time I have spent . I think the cost wasn't cheap and I did pay too much , Maybe it was a little expensive , I think the price better be decrease , They are need to attract customers so they should decrease the price or make discount on meals , I am not talking about my consideration but I notice there is no review on Yelp !! so i supposed that . anyway , I think that I gonna visit this cafe again soon .

I love trying hidden gems and 95% of the time they turn out amazing, this place however is well below amazing. We were first greeted at the door and told there was a 15 minute wait, no problem. 30 minutes later we ask to order our food to go, and were abruptly told we couldn't as the kitchen is backed up. She says she is going to get our table ready right then, well 15 minutes later she comes back and takes us downstairs. Only 1 of the 7 tables was even occupied. The waitress then goes back upstairs and brings two more groups downstairs and seats them, and proceeds to take their drink orders while we are left to wait. I ordered the Seafood Benedict, food was received quickly and as ordered. The flavor was very good, however the crab cake was filled with small pieces of shell making it miserable to enjoy. The bill comes and we ask to split it and very rudely told our party is too large, 6 people (3 couples). It's 2015, very few people carry cash anymore. So I'm left paying the entire bill with my debit card and the hassle of having to find an ATM afterwards for the other couples to reimburse me. The poor quality of service here overshadowed any hope of finding a quality hidden gem.

Great staple american breakfast with bright and entertaining service. The chicken and waffles are soooo good...love whatever they fry the chicken tenders in--far from ordinary. Presentation is nice. Great place to hit up on a Saturday morning in Bmore.

Server was great! She was hilarious, attentive and friendly. She is what made us give this place a 2.... We were a party of six. Patron 1: ordered an over medium egg and it came fried. And mushy. It was missing the bacon and potatoes were not fully cooked. Womp womp. Patron 2: I thought everything was fine! Great pancake and scrambled eggs were o my liking. Missing my potatoes but waitress brought them as soon as I said something. Patron 3: I ordered the breakfast special and I have to say I was pretty unimpressed. My poached eggs were rubbery, the hashbrowns weren't full cooked. The pancake was good but not the best I've ever had. The fruit was actually really good sweet! I don't think I'll be back here, but the service was good! Patron 4: I ordered a grilled cheese with cheddar (but got American) and when they fixed it they brought me a barely panini-ed cheese rather than a buttered grilled cheese. Cheese was barely melted Patron 5: mediocre at best. Probably won't return. Patron 6: didn't want to comment.

Full Disclosure, I used a Living Social deal. I bought another one today. We had breakfast at Saturday Morning Cafe on Water St. This part of Water St just off of Light St., is a short block of cobblestone surrounded by a few bars and restaurants. There is really no reason to have vehicle traffic on the street or surrounding alleyways. With some oversight of parking and the local population, and planning, it really could be the start or revitalization of a cool social hub in Old Downtown Baltimore. We really enjoyed Saturday Morning. We took a seat at the counter rather than going to the downstairs dining area. I like to see the kitchen and staff in action when I can. The staff was really pleasant and the food was good and had some things that were a bit different than you would find at Bob Evans or a Perkins. My standout was the loaded Alabama grits, a bowl of grits with cheese, tomato, and other delishiousness covered with a spicy fried egg. We shared that as I had a chicken and waffle plate coming and my companion ordered an omelet. I panicked when I saw that my waffle had powdered sugar and some strawberry cut up on it, but as it turned out, with the syrup and hot sauce that I like on my chicken it was all just what I wanted. The waffle was crisp and flavorful. The omelet was a good omelet, but my companion said that he will be stepping out of his comfort zone next time to take advantage of the menu items that you can't find everywhere. I'm thinking of those grits right now.

Maybe this place is better for breakfast foods than it is for lunch type meals. We asked the waitress for her recommendations and got the crab cake sandwich and the crab Benedict. The fries were greasy and undercooked, the crab cake itself was good but the sandwich was dry because it didn't come with any tartar sauce. It was supposed to come with a pickle but didn't. The eggs Benedict were good but small. It ended up being pretty expensive given the lack of quality.

Adorable cafe in the downtown Maryland area. I cam here to kill a couple of hours instead of sitting in an over-packed airport. I had lunch and worked on my laptop as they had free wifi. I had the shrimp salad croissant which was delicious!

Was in Baltimore for a conference. Never been to the city, but love off the beaten path, local, places. This place fit the bill perfectly. This place is incredible! Found this hidden gem on Water Street, visited twice during our stay in Baltimore. Build your own waffle with Turkey bacon on 1st visit and Berry Berry Oatmeal the 2nd visit and both were yummy. Owner very nice and genuine. Will go back again on our next visit to Baltimore - Jo and Rob, Emmaus, PA

Look, this place is a small hole-in-the wall cafe but it is embodies all of the best things about such a place. The decor is bare and plain and a bit industrial but it's feels homey and well worn at the same time. The staff here is delightful: full of pep, willing to chat and joke with the customers. The food is delicious home cooking. Our party got the shrimp and grits, seafood omelet, and the French toast dream. All of them are ample portions and were delicious. The shrimp and grits had a good covering of cheese and bacon with a few diced tomatoes. The shrimp were prepared perfectly. The French toast was punctuated with a mix of fresh berries, and came with eggs and a meat. It was so good that my 83yo mother who rarely finishes a meal devoured all but one piece of toast. The seafood omelet was a delight. Shrimp and crab and cheese and delicious with hot sauce but the most amazing thing for me was the home fries. I am not a huge fan of them and I realized I forgot to sub them out for grits - it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The potatoes were thin and crispy and not soggy with onions and just a dash of Old Bay. Overall, if you're in Baltimore and looking for a great breakfast or lunch place for a quick, affordable meal, this is the place to stop. You won't regret it in the least.

Disappointing after reading reviews. All greasy fried. Asked for medium eggs - overdone. One of us got cold eggs. Asked for crispy bacon. Greasy greasy greasy...sorry guys but must have been new cook. And definitely overpriced for quality. Server was friendly...

Came in for Saturday brunch. Food was decent but service was extremely spotty. Despite purported table service, I ended up getting my own water, the coffee refill never materialized and the half and half came in a giant carton. To finish it off a cockroach came crawling down the wall while we were eating.

Sometimes you take a chance on a hole in the wall and it pays off. This time it did not. I can honestly say this was the worst breakfast I've ever had in my life. We tried the special with fried eggs, bacon and French toast, and the bananas foster waffle with scrambled eggs. I'm not sure how you mess up eggs and bacon, but they were terrible. Tasteless, rubbery, undercooked. The French toast was a bland slice of white bunny bread dipped in egg. There were a few potatoes/onions on the plate too, I think. Also not cooked. The bananas foster waffle was covered in a special "Alabama" sauce. Let me tell you I've spent some time in that beautiful state and they would never presume to serve anything so vile and put their name on it... Sorry, Alabama. And the whip cream they claim to put on it was no where in site. Service was good - that's the only positive thing I can say. Thank god they had mints on the way out so we could get the nasty taste out of our mouths.

After a few days of looking for something "chariming" in Charm City (we are staying in the Inner Harbor), my sister and I followed up on a strong recommendation to eat at Saturday Morning Cafe. We now have a favorite spot! Will hopefully return. Retired military/Boston guy-owner and server Kendra took great care of us. We split the seafood omelet and shrimp and grits (OMG, OMG, OMG!!!) and plan to return for the Baltimore Eggs Benedict. If you visit, work this in! Water street is a funky little cobblestoned alley way near a CVS. Yum.

It took forever to get our meals. They were out of the salad trio, so my son ordered the turkey Reuben. They gave him 1/2 of a sandwich. Three of us were supposed to have toast that came with our meal. It came after our meal for two of us and the third person never did get their toast. Most places give you two pieces of toast with an omelet. Those of us lucky enough to get our toast, only got one piece. Also, sausage/bacon is usually two pieces... only one piece here. Big disappointment since the reviews that I read prior to our visit were so favorable.

This place is everything you could look for in a breatfast place! Small, homey feel to it with wait staff that are fun and friendly. My boyfriend enjoyed his Eggs Chesapeake while I devoured my French Toast Dream. For the price (which I thought was very reasonable) you get more food than you could hope for. If you don't want to wait - show up early! We arrived around 9am and as we were leaving around 10am the place seemed like it was really picking up. Sitting at the bar seemed like the best seat in the house.

The food was so bad that after reading all the great reviews, I was compelled t write my first review, so as others were aware. Maybe there has been a change in cooks BUT: There was the expected 20-30 min. wait for a seat--no problem, but when my seafood omelette finally arrived (without the ONE piece of toast that was t accompany it) n wiithout any noticeable shrimp (searched & found two 1/4 of a shrimp size pieces) or crab (& neither my husband or I could taste it) in about a 5 inch omelette of rubbery eggs (over mixed/too much liquid added) & the swiss cheese I had added melted out of it by over cooking---certainly bad, n at $11.95 a rip-off! The side of bacon was not crisp, pooled in grease & no flavor. My husband's chicken n waffles did not fare much better: we caw frozen breaded chicken tenders placed on the grill by bare hands--not the hand made ones we had read of; on tasting we both said not home made. He had ordered the dish without whipped cream: it came w it on anyway, n it was fake, not real whipped cream. Served w fake maple syrup, too. The experience did not stand up t Yelp's reviews n the guys siring next t us (on both sides) agreed: salads& breakfast platters were there orders--the salad looked particularly pathetic. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY HERE!

We headed down to this little restaurant based on good reviews I'd read on Yelp. Big mistake. Our young waitress was so sweet and friendly that it took us a while to realize we were receiving shockingly bad service. I am not a critical person when it comes to service in restaurants, and I realize that mistakes will be made, but this was bad. When she brought something out, it was only one thing at a time. One cup of coffee, one set of silverware, one plate of food. After a while we just had to get up and go into the restaurant and ask other staff members for things like creamer and sugar. It was absurd. The girl never even brought us our check. We just looked at the menu and tallied up how much our meal cost, left cash on the table and walked away. We were there for nearly two hours... for breakfast. If this review was based upon the quality of the food, I'd give it 3 stars. It was just average. But the service was so shockingly bad that the food was a mere afterthought. I would seriously steer clear of this place. They have no idea what they are doing.

Hands down one of the best cafés I have ever been to for breakfast. Was in town for business, wandered in for breakfast. Fluffiest omelets, potatoes were to die for. Friendliest and nicest family owned staff by a Veteran. Wish it was closer to home cause I would definitely be a regular.

Tucked away off a cobble-stoned road near Baltimore's Harbor, this little joint offers great eats, fresh coffee , & excellent customer service in a diner setting. The potatoes with rosemary are awesome, as well as the eggs Benedict, & pancakes!

It was a cute, quaint breakfast place, but nothing stood out as special about it. Store bought muffins and a half a strawberry on the French toast... I gave it two stars because the service was good. I wouldn't come back. The food was so expensive for what was served. I would say $$$ is more accurate. We will find another place for tomorrow's breakfast.

We were waiting in line at Miss Shirley's on a Saturday morning at around Noon, and the wait was about an hour long. I saw the great Yelp reviews for this place and we decided to check it out instead. I'm glad we did! The location is great if you're in the Inner Harbor area. The first thing you notice is the rustic, industrial interior which is a great fit in the Downtown part of the city. We were greeted incredibly warmly, and sat right at the bar. The server was energetic, quick, attentive, and gave us great recommendations. The Chicken and Waffles were fantastic, I highly recommend them. The chicken tenders were hot, tender, juicy, and much easier to devour with the light, crisp and fluffy waffles. It was no surprise to see empty plates all around us, the other dishes looked amazing and I hope I can make it back to Baltimore soon to try more. The owner, Will, was constantly hovering around the restaurant making sure everyone was happy. He was incredibly friendly, gracious, and had some great stories too. I highly recommend not just for the great food, but for the even better atmosphere.

I stumbled across this place accidentally when going to the bar across the street. After my friend and I checked out the menu, we decided it looked good enough to come in for breakfast before we left for home. we certainly were not disappointed. The counter staff was very friendly and attentive, even the cooks that came out from the kitchen were friendly. My friend got the chicken and waffles and I barely heard a peep out of her until she cleaned her plate. I had the chicken tenders and biscuits which was phenomenal. The chicken was clearly hand battered and pan fried at the restaurant instead of being frozen, out of a bag, and deep fried. The biscuits are, without a doubt, the best biscuits I've ever eaten. They were absolutely perfect, nice and crisp on top and tasted amazing with the honey drizzle. On top of the great taste, the price was very reasonable. I enjoyed my weekend in the city, but Saturday Morning Cafe will be the one thing I will insist on repeating my visit to next time I come into Baltimore. In the meantime, I'll be dreaming of those biscuits. Only downside is if I had found this place online as opposed to running into in person it would've been a bit hard to find. A sign closer to the Main Street (even a sandwich board) might be helpful. Other than that, I look forward to visiting again.

We had an awesome home town experience here. My husband and I were from out of town and were looking for a nice place to have breakfast and we found this little hidden gem down a side street. The owner was super friendly and you could just tell that owning this place was his passion and that he really cared about our dining experience. The chicken & waffles and seafood omelette w/ potato home fries were delicious. We also had some really yummy hot wings (several different flavors to choose from). If you're in the area, stop in Saturday Morning Cafe and grab some tasty and fresh food.

Off the main road, small...but amazing breakfasts and great people. Best breakfast in Baltimore. Earl -- behind the counter -- is tremendous. My kids and I were there a few weeks back and kept returning during our trip to Baltimore. French Toast Dream (daughter's favorite) and waffles (my simple man-son's favorite) were raved about. Eggs and grits were the real deal. Again -- can't do better for breakfast.

What an awesome way to start our trip here in Baltimore. My gf and I flew in this morning and this was the first place we stopped to grab a bite to eat. Our server Lauryn was AWESOME! She gave us tons of advice on where to go, what to see and where to stay away from. This place gives off a great vibe for being tucked away from the bustling downtown streets. All of the staff was friendly and inviting. My bowl of grits was top notch and my gf's croissant breakfast sandwich was amazing as well. They were out of a few items but Hey! thats the restaurant business and it didn't bother us. We were glad we chose this place as the first stop of our trip.

Will the owner will greet you at the door and remember your name if you come again. Best place in B-more for classic breakfast... Bacon eggs pancakes etc...and great coffee. Just what you would expect at the end of a quaint cobblestone block. Highly recommended for budget, pleasant, delicious food... Especially the morning after a late night wedding party which was the case for our first visit.

Awesome family run breakfast place. Would definitely make a trip if you are around the inner harbor. Good egg and starch dishes (waffles, pancakes)

It has been a very long time since I felt I got phenomenal service. On Sunday morning, we were served by the owner himself, while we were sitting at the counter. He was so friendly and genuine, and the rest of the staff was also so nice. He asked us what our travel plans were the for the weekend, and gave us recommendations on what to see in the area. His suggestions were spot on. My sister and I ordered the make your own omelettes and my husband got the Baltimore Benedict. So many different options to put in an omelettes, I got broccoli and light cheddar. My sister got spinach, onions, and cheddar. All of us enjoyed our food, we especially loved the potatoes.

Was here at Baltimore for a day, I'm so happy I picked this place.for breakfast instead of our hotel, The Baltimore Benedict eggs are very good! The service is excelent, so kind and warm place.

Certainly off the beaten path (hidden in a corner on a cobblestone side street) but worth the trip. Service - Everyone who worked at the Saturday Morning Cafe was super friendly and helpful (one girl behind the counter even commended us on our "style"). The chef came out and talked to us for a few minutes when he heard that we lived around his old neighborhood. Food- The seafood omelette was delicious. The portions were large but not unmanageable. The menu consists mostly of Southern comfort food (they have chicken and waffles as well as a French toast club sandwich) which isn't usually my thing but when in Baltimore... Price - The food is appropriately priced for the portions you receive. I wouldn't say it is cheap (our 3 person breakfast bill came out to $40) but its about what you would expect. I would definitely recommend this place for people looking for good conversation and a big breakfast or brunch (especially if you have time for a nap afterward).

My friend and I went here one morning and I find Saturday Morning Café a very casual place with good food and a very friendly wait staff. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Just don't expect anything fancy and it is a small restaurant, so good luck with finding a place to sit. I suggest going early. They have counter seating and maybe two or three tables.

I really enjoyed my omelets that I had here. They also catered a breakfast for a seminar and did a great job. The food was good but what really made everything better was the warm welcome by the entire staff. I'll try the French toast tomorrow but I would recommend this place, even just for a great cup of coffee.

A great "hole in the wall" place. Small, so you have to hope it isn't to crowded but if you have to wait, it is worth it. We went in with a fairly large party on a Sunday morning and the ladies behind the counter told us immediately that the kitchen was backed up so it would take awhile. When served, The food was plentiful and good. The staff was friendly and talkative. Made us feel totally welcome. Will definitely go back on next trip to Baltimore!

The owner of this establishment is just awesome. Makes you feel right at home, chats you up about all kinds of topics - plus, the food is AMAZING! I had the chicken and waffles and my wife had the seafood omelette. I wish him the greatest success. We got here a little early and by the time we left the place was pretty packed. Try it out!

This place was great! Rustic, bohemian, sit-wherever-you-want place. Friendly, chatty waiter (I'm not sure if he was the owner or just staff - a young guy in a tie-dye shirt). Food was served quickly and was delicious. I sooo wanted to come back another morning and try the chicken and waffles, but unfortunately, my schedule while there didn't permit it.

The best aspect of this cafe was its location on Water street. It's like walking back in time. The Saturday morning I went was bustling with activity with an energetic crowd. This was a bit of a drawback too, because service was pretty slow. But I was with some good friends, and this is Saturday Morning Cafe we're talking about, so it wasn't so bad. The food itself was unremarkable but good. Some changes I would like to see would be faster service during the busy hours. I will l be going back.

Formerly Cheapside Wharf this place is still the same fantastic breakfast place. Fast service and good food. The potatoes are simply the best. Love the pancakes. The coffee is good and the staff are friendly. Small but great.

Stopped by on a Sunday morning. Friendly jab by the owner at my husband's Steeler gloves. I am amazed he even noticed since he was busy, but it was done in a way that made us feel at home. We ate downstairs. The waitress, Lauryn was excellent. We had some friendly discussions about the restaurant. Music was too loud, but turned down at our request. Food was good. I am a coffee person- so I would suggest a better grade of coffee. I would love to know the history of the building..

Go to McDonald's instead it is better. We went there with a party of four. It took a hour after we ordered to get our food. All we ordered was three breakfast sandwiches and one special. Only three meals came out then the fourth breakfast came out five minutes later. It was all cold we were going to send it back but we did not want it to take another hour. The waiter wanted to practice his stand up route and talking on his phone instead of getting our food or finding out where our food was. He then told us our food was all messed up because he was fighting with the cook and now all his tickets get pushed to the back. We will not be returning here ever and only tried it based on the reviews from Yelp. I am not sure why our experience was so different from the other reviewers but I would highly recommend staying away from this place.

Talk about serendipity. We came across this restaurant randomly and decided to eat there. Everything was great! The chicken wings were fresh and delicious, and everything else was fresh. The French fries are cut potatoes freshly fried when you order them. So great! Would give it 5 stars, but the waitress kept awkwardly insisting we come back when we were intending to anyway. Great place for a breakfast or lunch.

This is the first review I have left and I have been to tons of great restaurants. My hubby and I were in Bmore for his birthday and was looking for a breakfast spot. It was walking distance from our hotel and was tucked on Water St. Very cute place and definitely a family owned business, but in a good way! Service was fantastic and it felt like we were having breakfast w friends. The owner was super friendly and his niece (our waitress) was very friendly. Service was prompt and food was delicious. Both had French roast dream w strawberries and cream and it was excellent. Eggs were cooked perfectly and servings were generous. They found out it was my hubby's birthday and they came out w a donut w strawberries and whipped cream and even sang him Happy Birthday! In an area where great service is hard to come by, this was a refreshing place to find. These are the type of places I would love to stay open because the owners love what they do and it shows in their food and their restaurant.

They must have been off for July 4th weekend. This place was horrible. Waited over 45 minutes for simple food. Watched 4 tables walk out after not being noticed. All the food we received was dirty and slopped on the plate from the mess of a grill the cook was trying to cook it on. If we thought we would have seen our waitress in a reasonable period of time we would have sent it all back and I rarely do that. A real breakfast mistake. And what's up with the Denny's look alike menus ? Avoid this place.

Great food. Normally, I have a body builder breakfast. High on protein. The chef offered to make me an egg white omelette and a tiny portion of a waffle. I just had to.... Yummmm.

The service here was outstanding which is why the I would rate it 3 stars. The food, unfortunately, was not. We had the Baltimore Eggs Benedict and I echo what others have said: the muffins were not toasted and a bit stale, the crabcakes had bits of shell, and the what hollandaise sauce made it onto the benedict was not right. If you eat here, go for a basic breakfast. Don't spend the extra money on something fancy. I think this may have been a better experience for me if I would have just stuck with pancakes or a two egg breakfast.

Saturday Morning Cafe is the hidden gem of Baltimore. Located right off of Light St just a few blocks from the Inner Harbor. It was within walking distance of our hotel. The owner, Will, served us at the bar. His staff was attentive and friendly. He even started our meal off with some water infused with strawberries, kiwis, and lemons. It was perfect for the hot day. The atmosphere was friendly with both locals and visitors eating at the same time. Will took the time to pull out a map and give a breakdown of what to see where, when and how. Very helpful. The food was excellent. We ordered the shrimp and grits which rivals some of the best I've had in Atlanta. The couple next to us had a "make your own salad". A huge salad of mixed greens with your choice of toppings. The plate was bigger than my head - and cost $8 or $9 dollars. This has become our go to spot when we visit Baltimore for both breakfast and lunch. It is well priced and the food is brilliant. It's as much about the food as it is about the people.

I went here with a friend looking for a nice home-style breakfast, but left hungry and dissatisfied. I ordered the Saturday Morning Cafe Special and the portion size was small for the price. Additionally, my potatoes were hard in the middle and my poached eggs were overcooked. My friend ordered red velvet waffles and they were burnt. I expected way more from a restaurant rated 4 stars. Pretty disappointing.

Went on a Saturday at 1030 am and didnt leave till almost 12. Not because we liked it cause it took that long to get our food! Wait staff was not around after our order. Never cam back to atleast refresh my coffee. Once we got our food it was ice cold. It dosent take that long to cook pancakes and eggs. They did however give me and 2 other patrons 20% off the tab. They did realize atleast the long wait. Dont think I will be going back anutime soon.

Good food But quite a trainwreck to get it. Jack & Zack was closed (it's Saturday) and was better food IMO at Jack & Zack. We arrived & there was a slight wait & it was obvious hostess was inexperienced. All well so far & wife notices any empty table outside so I suggested to hostess who then said she didn't want to overfill the waitress there (wtf no one wants to make $)! I said np we can wait at that table a little while so pushed our way to a good outside table. Takes a little bit but we order our food so all good nbd on wait. While we are sitting there two tables around us bail for slow service and a scathing review shows up on Yelp! Ten min + go by & still no OJ or Coffee! Wife is going into bathroom so I ask her to check on OJ & coffee (she is the diplomatic one). Wife comes back says its coming but does not come. Meanwhile two tables that sat down at least ten minutes after us have coffee!!! Wtf. I go in and it gets ugly they say its coming and show it to me but she says other girl gonna bring it so I say why don't you bring it! I would have grabbed it myself but holding our baby! My going in was last resort as I almost never complain before I have all our food! I speak to someone inside who previous walkers complained to & I am like wtf this place really isn't that big & you have a lot of people working here how are we waiting 25 min + for OJ & coffee!!! Finally drinks come & girl apologetic food comes its good & they take 20% off bill. We leave good tip and out. Issues were staff doesn't work together as team, hostess standing there when tables all full nothing for her to do so teach her to step up bring some coffee & OJ to people. I was a waiter for years & this place should have had much better service for the # of people working (7 or 8 + staff mulling around). Good food though but it appeared most people like us stuck it out for the food since great Yelp reviews but service should be much more on point! It bfast really not that hard as a waiter! Oh & when food came we still didn't have silverware which they brought quickly then. Again hostess or manager on duty should be helping w that & drink orders & they ran out of coffee before our refill but she did bring it when it was ready ( took about 10 min) so it happens I guess.

Stopped by for lunch in the middle of a conference day. Service was outstanding! The gentleman at the bar knew about our conference and was striking up conversation based on the purpose of our conference. The food was really great. I got an omelette and it did not disappoint. My first visit to Baltimore and I'm glad Yelp pointed me in the direction of this establishment for brunch.

  • Nate H.

This place is tucked away a side street, i had to wait a total of 5 minutes to be seated on a Saturday at 11am which is very reasonable.

This place was not at all what their web site would suggest. Just a dive diner. Ugly tables, a waffle that was spongey and not homemade, and overcooked eggs and bacon. Service was pleasant, I'll give it that.

This is the kind of place we love to find when we travel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was great, with generous portions. Had chicken & waffles--awesome; chicken flavorful, moist, cooked perfectly. Highly recommended!! Thanks to Kendra (on Sunday) and Candice (today) for their wonderful service.

Go here.

Found this restaurant by chance. What a delightful surprise. Friendly staff and really good breakfast food. Coffee needs work but evwryting else was great. Quaint out of the way place.

Great food and service!!! It is a Super cute gem of a place tucked at the back of a small street. The staff is very friendly!!! The seafood omelet is wonderful!!

Staff was nice, but service was slow. Took over 30 minutes for food to be served. The omelettes tasted fine, but it wasn't anything special. You get 15% off the bill for writing a review on Yelp.

Food was delicious, and the infused water was really good! Banana Foster is highly recommended. Seafood omelette was good too, but the crab didn't taste as fresh. Still good though. The staff was also very friendly.

Was in Baltimore for a conference. Never been to the city, but love off the beaten path, local, places. This place fit the bill perfectly. This place is incredible! The service was awesome, the food was fantastic. Very cool venue. On short - GO! Support this local, small, business and you get the reward!

Yummmm.

  • Sebrina D.

Would absolutely go back if in the area again!

My first visit to Baltimore and I'm glad Yelp pointed me in the direction of this establishment for brunch. Disappointing after reading reviews. All greasy fried. Asked for medium eggs - overdone. One of us got cold eggs. Asked for crispy bacon. Greasy greasy greasy...sorry guys but must have been new cook. And definitely overpriced for quality. Server was friendly...

Sold 4 star food. Had the breakfast special. Cottage fries were twice fried; nice crunch. Tasty sausage and pancake. Better than normal diner coffee; like medium roast. Friendly service. Free wifi.

  • Paula W.

Try it out!

Visiting Baltimore for the holidays and we found this diamond in the rough! Right around the corner from our hotel on redwood. Awesome food. Awesome people. Awesomeness all the way around! Please support this business, we are back for second day in a row.

Hidden off a couple of small side streets - enter off Light St otherwise you have to walk down creepy alley. Order took a long time but was well with the wait.

Oh wait...

It was a very average. The whole thing was just Average. Not great, not terrible, all in all probably not worth your while.

This little place is perfect. The food is great and the service is awesome. I love finding little local places with charm. I had the seafood omelette, and my friends had the chicken and waffles, and the shrimp and grits. We all loved our food. This was a great find. Definitely check them out!

  • Harue J.

  • Elsa M.

I had the shrimp and grits and bf had steak omelet. The service was great. Staff is very welcoming and pleasant. However food is mediocre.
