Potbelly is a better Subway. The workers and decor is very nice. They pride themselves on quick service. The sandwiches themselves are very tasty. I came here twice in the span of 2 days. I had the italian and also the roast beef. Both were great.

One of the better places that delivers to the University of Maryland hospital, my colleagues and I have enjoyed a group lunch/dinner on a long call day courtesy of Potbelly's speedy delivery. My go-to sandwich is the A-wreck. Fyi, they overestimate their delivery times by about 15-20 minutes, so you'll probably get fed sooner than later.

Only reason I give it 4 stars is because I reserve my five stars for my favorite Jewish Deli (in Palm Springs, CA). But this place was great! Delicious bread and meat. Really cool place to hang out.

Had the roast beef and provolone, it was like a Quiznos only with flavor. I recommend the Oreo Shake. Friendly staff and clean.

It's a Potbelly. Normally, would not bother to rate it, since the food is, as chains tend to be, roughly the same everywhere. However, service here stood out as excellent, particularly in downtown Baltimore, where I had quite a few experiences with horrible service. Given the surrounding options, Potbelly deserves some serious consideration, particularly for those who haven't eaten at one of these.

This Potbelly is near the Maryland Medical Center so it's a favorite lunchtime spot for employees, students, and visitors. It can get very busy during lunch time. The food here is good, though nothing too spectacular in my opinion. You can get whatever toppings you want with your sandwich, but when I went, I couldn't see what sort of toppings there were. Unlike Subway, where everything is visible to you, this Potbelly's hid everything behind a big wooden counter. I suppose if you are a regular you already know everything they offer, and if you come in during off-hours, you can ask.... but during the lunch rush, I'm sure you'd get a few dirty stares from the hurried people in line if you stopped to ask what is available. There is live music during lunch, which can be good or bad depending on who is performing haha. However, to be honest, I'd walk another few minutes and go to Jimmy John's.

I ate here last night and ordered a "Big" size Chicken Salad Sandwich. It's a nice restaurant. The inside was pretty clean, and the workers were friendly. There is plenty of seating, and I enjoyed sitting by the front window. It's a good location for people-watching. I've eaten at Potbelly before, but not this location. My sandwich was a very good size. I'd choose a Potbelly sandwich over Subway any day. I think the ingredients are fresher and the bread is much better. The bread was slightly toasted and tasted very fresh. The chicken salad was good as always and the sandwich had a generous portion. I also had provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. You get to choose your additions. It ended up being a great all-around meal. A large sandwich for ~$5.50 and a can of soda for ~$1. Great deal!

This is your average deli shop. They have lots of choices to suit every diet preference. I mostly love their salads, esp. the chickpea salad and the chicken salad salad. Location convenient for UMMC workers. Lastly, I must say they have the best cookies in town. If you have just a piece of the chocolate chip or sugar cookie you will immediately be a diabetic....they have tons of sugar but are sooo good.

Lines during peak lunch hour (11:45pm to 1pm) are quite long and hardly any room to sit down, so during the week, get here outside of that time frame. The food is always delicious, prepared quickly and correctly, and they offer you sides of hot peppers if you just ask. The shakes are fantastic and worth the cost.

Great place to go for a quick lunch. The milkshakes are amazing, if you ask, they'll make you a mocha (coffee ice cream with chocolate syrup) - the best!!

Just thinking about Potbelly puts a smile on my stomach. I had never been to a Potbelly establishment until this one opened near UMMC. When I had my first sandwich, the Roast Beef, I knew that I would be making a long-term commitment to Potbelly (we're making wedding plans as we speak). Since this Potbelly store is close to the hospital, Oriole Park, etc, it gets extremely business around lunch time. There have been times where the line would extend OUTSIDE of the store. One thing that I will commend the Potbelly staff on is the fact that they will ask for your order while you're in the line. This way, when you eventually get to the sandwich station, your order is ready. I haven't tried any of the breakfast foods Potbelly has to offer. Don't worry; I have plenty of chances for that :)

I eat here alot...probably because its cheap, not terribly unhealthy, and right around the corner from my house. But its not bad...only ever had the roastbeef, except one time this guy gave me the completely wrong order which i dont know how that happens, being as they make it immediately as you order it...but hehind a counter so you cant see. I got an italian mix, which was...ok at best. There are better places to eat i'm sure...i just got comfortable going here. Probably will be back...but not as often.

This was a convenient, super fast place for me to get lunch while at a conference at the convention center. The day I had lunch there was a huge line, but I couldn't believe how fast it went. I got the Mediterranean salad, and it was really good--big, with fresh greens, lots of artichokes, and the perfect amount of chicken and feta. Some places overload their salads with too much of the extras, but they didn't. The vinaigrette was good too, not too tangy or overwhelming. I had breakfast there too, and while they were out of the smoothie I wanted (waiting for a delivery, which arrived just a few minutes too late) I had the steel cut oats with bananas and walnuts, and it was surprisingly yummy. The coffee is also good, and the vibe is casual and comfortable. Definitely recommended!

This Potbelly is very convenient to the UMB campus and the hospital and is reliable as far as good service and food quality. The staff are friendly and it's always a nice place to get a quick lunch. It can get a bit crowded but that's mostly due to the location. On my recent visit the toppings might have looked a little fresher but it was nearing closing time so maybe that's to be expected.

This Potbelly's has always given me good consistent service, and I love the location. For anyone who eats at one of the downtown Subway sandwich shops for lunch, going to a Potbelly's sandwich shop will make you think twice before ever visiting one of those Subway sandwich shops again. I promise.

I came here with a few of my teammates to get late dinner/race breakfast on their behest. They had said that Potbelly was really good, and as far as sandwich chains go, I haven't tried it yet, so why not? I feel like Potbelly is an upgraded version of Subway, but with less toppings and better tasting sandwiches. The actual location of Potbelly was large and clean, and it seemed good for groups. The workers were really nice and friendly - it seems like they really make it a point to know their regulars. Overall, I say not bad. I don't know what the Potbelly Shops are like in New York, though.

Awesome service! The crew here is super friendly. I usually get the turkey avocado melt, but this time I got the Mediterranean and it was great! There milkshakes are delicious and I love the tiny cookies you get with them.

Was in town visiting so decided to stop in...the sandwich itself was ok...nothing spectactular (many deli places aren't). I still prefer Firehouse Subs. I wanted to try a shake but it was too chilly out. The chicken enchilada soup was the highlight for me. I actually looked up recipes and will try it this weekend because it was extremely good. The soup and Zapp's chips (shoutout Louisiana!!) are the only reasons I'm giving this place 3 stars. Nothing spectacular about the service.

Potbelly is my absolute favorite lunch spot. Partly nostalgia...the decor in these places is very consistent and I can almost imagine myself back home in Chicago. Every sandwich they make is terrific - just be ready to order long before you get to the front of the line. During lunch rush the counter staff will holler back for you to order from afar.

Unbiased review due to the fact I know most of the workers there on a personal basis. WIth that said, here we go... Potbelly to me is the hipster Subway. It costs a tad bit more, has some new and interesting ideas for sandwiches, and can be a little quirky and that's why I love the place!! This place is situated at the Inner Harbor between Dick's Last Resort and Chipotle and is an awesome sandwich shop. The employees are friendly and helpful and if you go there a while, they will know you by name and/or your order. Service is fast and this Potbelly does stick to its "you'll get through the line in less than 8 minutes." My favorite sandwich here is a "Big" grilled chicken and cheddar but The Wreck is good too. They pile on the meat and toppings so it feels like you're actually getting your money's worth. Their milkshakes, cookies, and soups are really good as well! Sometimes I just come for the broccoli and cheddar soup. its superb! My only gripes is that the line during lunch hour can run out the door and that it closes early in my opinion.

It is so hard to commit to packing lunch when you have this good of a restaurant right by your work. I always go in for either a tuna melt or veggie sandwich, and I have never been disappointed or anything less than happy. The bread is always delightfully toasted, the staff is always so welcoming and friendly, and even when the line stretches past the door, I manage to complete my order in less than 10 minutes. Kudos, Potbellys

I was down the street at a conference and after a night of drinking a muffin won't cut it and I need a breakfast sandwich. I went to Potbelly's and got a bacon egg and cheese in a whole wheat "original" and the same thing on a regular original for my coworker. The sandwiches were great mainly because of the delicious peppered bacon. The bread was soft and seemed fresh. If ever around the area for lunch I would definitely consider going back.

  • Jeff H.

Every time I eat at a Potbelly Sandwich works it doesn't matter where it is they never seem to fail me. The price is great for what you get. I also think they taste way better then Quiznos but that is my personal opinion and if you don't believe me find one and try it out.

    (4)
  • Jason B.

This place is the definition of "mediocre" and "unimaginative." Their sandwich selection is limited and the taste is "blah." That is what you get when you put no meat on your sandwiches....just tastes like toast. Would not recommend it if you are in the harbour.

  • Jonathan P.

Never been to one of these until I graced the streets of Baltimore. It reminds me of a nicer quiznos, with a very homey feeling. The taste is much better than quiznos especially if you like comfort food. I saw the name Potbelly and since I have one myself I decided I would try it. Excellent Italian sandwich. Make sure you add the hot peppers, They're actually hot, but they're also actually good. If you are in the inner harbor and aren't looking to spend 40 bucks but you want good comfortable sandwich food, go to this place ASAP.

I've spent the past two weeks in and out of the University Of Maryland Medical Center visiting with a close friend. This sandwich shop is conveniently located right down from the hospital on the corner. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the courtesy from the employees. I've always been a huge fan of subs and sandwiches and this place is by far my all time favorite. The prices are reasonable, just a few more dollars than "Subway". The chicken and cheddar on wheat and the roast beef on wheat are my two favorite sandwiches they have to offer. The bread is really amazing and the meats are filled with flavor. They are very well known for their hot peppers, and now I know why. I strongly recommend putting the hot peppers on any and every sandwich!! This particular location does get extremely busy around lunch time. Many medical students and employees of the hospital fill the place daily and waiting times can take a little longer than normal. They do however offer a way to order online and by phone. Overall experience: A+++

This Potbelly just opened up in the Greenehouse apartment complex on Pratt and Greene. It's proximity to the University of Maryland Medical Center makes it a great lunch time spot. My friends and I went for it's opening yesterday. Around 1pm the line was out the door, but the staff worked like a well-oiled machine to get everyone's orders in and out quickly. You can also phone-in and order or order online ahead of time, which is great if you're picking up a lot of sandwiches. I ordered the original-sized Italian sandwich. For $4.50, you really can't beat it. I also got a mocha-oreo shake. Let me just say, yum. The shakes are just the right size. I left very satisfied. I've actually never been to a Potbelly's before, but I'm definitely a fan. I can see myself coming here for lunch quite often.

I work across the street from Potbelly's and consistently get great service and satisfying sandwiches. I often go when I can not face my frozen lunch entree. There is often a long line, but it moves very quickly so its never an inconvenience. I'm not sure why, but their hots are amazingly good. I think I would be happy with just their hots on a sandwich roll (and maybe cheese).

*$%! this place in particular. Every single employee behind the counter-- EVERY LAST ONE-- decided to start making mean-spirited comments about the size of my 8" sandwich, saying things like "Are you sure you're not sharing this?" and "WOW that's a BIG SANDWICH" while making shocked faces and pointing and laughing at me/my meal. When I got to the register to pay the cashier looked at my meal (a sandwich, which I'm assuming she'd seen before since she works in a friggin' sandwich shop, and a medium fountain drink) and looked like she'd just gazed upon the world's largest sub, then mouthed "WOW" and laughed at me. I was so upset I just left and have since refused to return to ANY Potbelly EVER. My husband had to go back to complain to the manager because I would not step foot back in this hellhole for anything. The manager, to her credit, was horrified upon hearing about the incident. I would hope the employees involved were all fired, but since I have no way of knowing I won't be returning to Potbelly for the rest of my life.

Cute for lunch. Food is okay, live music when I was there on a weekday.

Great sandwiches, soups, and shakes. Friendly customer service. I wish there were more sandwich choices though. I think there are more milkshake variations than sandwiches.

Sandwiches are so so dreamy and amazing. I recommend the Wreck. Their malts are also amazing-- I always get the banana malt. Service is also great, everyone is friendly. Love love this place
