I like this place! We were driving back from Fort McHenry when I saw a sign for snowballs and ice cream, so we had to stop. And lucky me, there was a parking space right in front! Out Of The Blue is a little cafe and it is literally very blue inside. I don't know how I feel about the decor, but I think it grew on me while we were there. My boyfriend wanted a coffee, but unfortunately they were out of coffee for the afternoon. I definitely wanted a snowball, so I ordered a strawberry snowball with marshmallow. The cashier let me know that the snowballs were a little slushy, but I wanted to order one anyway. The medium size is really big! Next time I'd probably order a small, since I shared with my boyfriend and still couldn't finish it. The marshmallow portion was generous, which made me happy since marshmallow is my favorite! The snowball was indeed slushy, so I'd like to give it another shot when the machine is working properly. The cashier seemed to be the only one working and she was definitely holding her own. She was also very nice and made sure to ask us how everything was after we finished the snowball. I'd rate Out Of The Blue as a 3.5 right now, but I'd definitely give it another try in the future.

3.5 stars. Kris L. described this place pretty accurately. The shop is on the corner off of fort avenue in locust point. I'm torn whether the decor is tacky or cute. It is blue and white and plays off a nautical theme to some extent. The snowball menu is extensive. Anything you can imagine, you can get and I would assume they would be flexible to customize something for you. They also have ice cream and custard, but custard was not available. I ordered a medium cherry with marshmallow and my girlfriend got a small watermelon. The portion size is great -- I would have gotten a small if I knew how big they were. Both tasted pretty good and on a warm day it was a refreshing treat. They also serve bagels and other small breakfast items along with bottled beverages and fountain sodas. Not bad, but I could not see myself going out of my way to come here and this place definitely would not cross my mind for breakfast.

Out of the blue is a quaint local cafe in locust point. I passed it on my run to fort Mchenry and saw signs offering snowballs, ice cream, coffee, and Nathan's hot dogs. Upon venturing inside their snowball flavor offering is impressive. Their menu also offers frozen custard but I was told they probably won't have that for a while. Other items include typical cafe choices like bagels, pastries, cookies, fruit, coffee and tea, and a ton of frozen treats. We tried the snow cones. They was reminiscent of childhood...tons of sugary goodness (and not too much fruit flavor). The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable (1.75 for a small, and the small was quite big). The staff was friendly and welcoming. The decor was refreshing for a locust point venue - clean and simple. Lots of bright colors. They offer wifi and have a flat screen TV. Overall seems like a friendly local alternative to Starbucks, or a place to stop for a quick frozen treat.

Super cute with a ton of potential as a lunch spot or great afternoon spot - only serve decent ice cream; no coffee or even fizz for the fountain drinks. Pre-prepared sandwiches were ok; and the gal serving us was super nice. But the place across the street Dessert Fantasies was fantastic!

Stopped in twice for "gelati" - snow cone layered with soft serve. Problem? They were out of ice cream both times. The second time they were also out of their marshmallow topping. It is a good price for the size you get. My vote? Save your cash for Ms. Misty who drives around the neighborhood on summer nights and always has all her ingredients.

I come to this location because of their snowballs , my favorite is the chocolate pudding . Every time I come to this location they never have what they need . Last time it was spoons this time it's no ingredients for the snowball . There's this one young lady that works there she has different color hair , she has no customer service what so ever , she speaks very low and is not vert attentive what so ever. Summer is beginning to end soon and bad enough I'm not gonna be able to get a snowball. Well I'm not very happy with customer service and probably after this summer I won't be back again
