Other than the crab wontons there wasn't anything special. The wantons were large and had lots of filling. Could have eaten an order of those for dinner and been happy. The steamed dumplings were not that great and I only ate 1.5

I have been incredibly frustrated in finding that there appears to be absolutely no good, reliable Chinese delivery in Baltimore. No. 1 Taste continues the tradition of unreliability. The food took an hour and fifteen minutes to go less than a mile and it was cold when it showed up, leaving half the order inedible as it turned into soggy, greasy dough and when I reheated it, whatever was supposed to be inside vaporized. I will not order from this place again.

The food here is gross, but it's one of the only places in Fells to get some food after last call.

If I could give this restaurant no stars I would. We have ordered from it many times in the past 9 years but lately they have been inconsistant. So much so we have tried another in the area but decided today to try again. This was a huge mistake. The pork fried rice was very dark, it tasted old with a weird flavor that made me think of rancid oil. Threw that out. The Mongolian Beef was all onions, oil and little taste but the worse was after Wonton Soup. The dumplings tasted weird again like they were old, but worse was the empty container smelled like urine and that was after I rinsed it out! Called the restaurant and described the meal and the problems...received not one word in response no apology... nothing. Feeling ill. Do not order from here. Use gruphub and order from anywhere else.

This is probably the worst chinese food I've ever had. You really get what you pay for. I ordered the chicken and broccoli. It had no flavor. The eggroll was ok- super super greasy and a little burnt. The "chicken" was soo slimy- after the first piece I didn't want another but I forced myself thinking maybe it was just that piece- it wasn't... I ate the broccoli and went to look for something else to eat for dinner. Yes, it's super cheap but it's not worth it. You couldn't pay me to eat this shit again.

Delivery took an hour and a half and the food was literal garbage. We ordered sesame chicken and orange chicken and had the foresight to order white meat (which we were charged for, so you know it got through). The "chicken" consisted of fried, soggy breading with no visible meat in it. It was like chewing a sugary sponge. Only positive thing to say about the food was that the rice was, in fact, rice. Good job. I'd give 0 stars if I could.

DELIVERY: OVER AN HOUR LATE. - Seriously! FOOD: Pretty Standard Chinese food. Nothing Special. You can't really go wrong, but keep your expectations at a "I need a Chinese fix", rather than a "welcome to Shanghai experience".

I frequently order delivery from No 1 Taste because of the good prices. I think you get what you pay for -- definitely no where near the best Chinese food I've had, but for the price I think it's well worth it. However, on 2 occasions when ordering I've qualified for the free egg roll or soda (actually 2 free egg rolls or sodas) with my order because of how much I've spent...and neither time have I received the soda I requested. Another time I ordered food I actually paid for a soda and didn't receive it. This might seem minor (especially since the sodas were free in two cases and only maybe 65 cents or so in the other), but it's irritating. I think I'm going to start ordering Chinese food elsewhere that will actually deliver everything I order.

This is one of those Chinese fast food places that you'd have to be either pretty desperate or pretty drunk to eat from; yet, they seem to thrive in their location (and what a location it is, right next to the Fells Point bar district). Guess that takes care of the "pretty drunk" part. If you want Chinese food on the cheap, this is the place to come. Yes, there's nothing special about the food itself - standard carry-out fare here. They have combination specials that are decent - an entree with your choice of fried or white rice, a small soup, an egg roll or a can of soda - this will fill you up pretty well. Don't get anything from their "American" menu - the boneless spare ribs are greasy and not quite... well, we'll just say they're bad and leave it at that. The General Tso's is what I order the most and they do an okay job with it. The delivery range is wide - they'll go from Fells Point to Seton Hill, which is huge, and they're really fast (my order from phone to door was less than 30 minutes, pretty impressive). To sum it up, it's not great but it's not horrific. That's pretty much the overall experience here. When I get a craving for hot wonton soup, I'll call them again.

Credit card minimum's are still in effect here, make sure your order is $8 or incur a .50 cent fee! Located deep in Fell's point this location is right off of Broadway, within walking distance of your bar of choice! This is a very large local orientated shop, and will normally have waiting patrons. Lunch special all day served with your choice : pork fried rice, vegetable fried rice and white rice. Mostly standard options for the lunch menu, what can be ordered on lunch menu can also be for a full combo meal, which results in a little more portions of food. Food here is average and well priced for the offerings. Nothing come's off special here, maybe their all day lunch even at 9pm....

Hey What can I say? After living in NYC for 5 years you see just about every kind of Chinese Food there is. (No. 1 Taste), Actually was pretty good. I felt it fresher than the sights of NYC Chinese Food. Overall pretty pleased with the order. General Tso's , Sweet and Sour Chicken, Great Egg rolls and Steamed Dumplings. Its a $1 charge for white meat on the General Tso's but I didn't complain. Will we return? I say yes. Not many options that will delivery in the Downtown baltimore Area on a Friday Night, at least that I have seen. Give it a try, they take cards as well. and you can order them off of Grub Hub which is cool as well. Enjoy!

I love No.1 taste! Wanna know why? Because when my lazy ass doesn't feel like not only cooking dinner, but going to fetch dinner they deliver it right to me! Fast and friendly delivery has always been my experience with No.1 taste. I love the crab rangoons and all of the standard Chinese crap that we all (whether we admit it or not) crave once and a while.

Worst decision I have made in a long time. I ordered delivery and it took almost 2 hours to arrive. The location is only 2 miles from my house, I could have walked there and back twice. Food arrived cold and without flavor. In a city where there are dozens of similar places, I would choose somewhere else.

$4.25 all day for a "lunch special" which includes your entree and fried rice. quick delivery. the food is nothing special, but won't make you gag. if you need cheap, quick chinese food it's hard to beat this place. if you can't stand typical chinese carry-out then don't eat their food. otherwise, go for it lunch special menu online: foodler.com/MD/Baltimore… if that link doesn't work find No. 1 taste on foodler, then find the specials menu on the bottom left.

I have ordered from No. 1 Taste a few more times than I would like to admit- but this is my go-to Sunday hangover food. I LEGIT wait until noon (some open at 11) just so I can order via grubhub. Now this isn't extravagant food, but it is typical Chinese Takeout food. I find it delicious each time and have had no complaints EVER! My go to is the orange chicken dinner, pork egg roll and wonton soup. I find the dishes have flavor and always are tasty. It's also nice of how MUCH chinese you can get for the price. For $20 you can get a meal for 3 (Or like me, a meal for 3 meals) Overall, if you're looking for stereotypical Takeout Chinese, No. 1 taste is your guy.

I decided to try a new Chinese delivery and could not be more disappointed. The crab rangoons had the smallest dab of cream cheese inside with a thick, unpleasant wonton shell. The shrimp rolls were just cabbage in the same nasty shell. The chicken was a gelatinous mess. Even the white rice was gross and mushy. I ended up throwing it all away. A waste of $20.

I wanted to try a new Chinese delivery, and someone I know suggested No. 1 Taste. Needless to say, I'll never listen to this person's suggestions again. The delivery took over an hour. The bag that was handed to me was sopping wet and dripping with grease. I could've wrung the bag out and fried a whole chicken, that much grease. The hot & spicy beef lo mein was inedible; not hot, just disgusting. Pretty sure it wasn't even beef. The general's chicken was so salty I took my wedding rings off before my fingers had a chance to swell. I'm confident my circulation would have been cut off otherwise. The dumplings were all dough, and they didn't give us dumpling sauce. The can of ginger ale i ordered was forgotten. Speaking of drinks, the website boasts one free egg roll or soda with every $6 spent. I should have received 4 cans, and didn't even get the one I paid for. They also "offer" a 10% discount if you order online, though everything on the menu "doesn't apply towards discount" If you want a ton of food for cheap, have no taste buds, or fucking LOVE salt, this is the place for you. EDIT: Shortly after I posted this I received a call from No. 1 Taste saying they were going to charge my card for an additional $1 for requesting all white meat chicken. I told them they already did, and they disputed that. I also told them that they forgot my drink, and suggested we just call it even, and the woman began to argue with me over $.35 I then pointed out to her that according to their website she actually owed me 4 drinks OR 4 eggrolls. She disputed that too, saying it does not apply to dinner specials. I asked why the website only excludes lunch specials and her answer was that "it doesnt matter, lunch and dinner" She continued to argue with me and I told her that if she charged my card again, I would dispute the entire thing and she would be out $25. Stay away from this place. Not only is the food garbage, the people who are running the show are a joke.

This place sucks. I ordered from here on Friday and found something metal into chicken. I almost broke my tooth.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
