The food is great...when it comes out as your ordered it. We ordered a burger and the chicken BLT. The burger came out without lettuce (as the menu describes it) and the BLT came out without bacon OR tomatoes...it was just chicken and lettuce. Food also takes FOREVER to get. We waited almost an hour at 9pm on a Thursday. The place was fairly crowded with people at the bar...but still, an hour for bar food is kind of ridiculous. I will say that my fiance described the burger as one of the best he has ever had so that is a positive! The fries with the burger were served still frozen...we asked for new ones and got again, 1/2 frozen mushy fries. This place has the potential to be great, they just need to get their kitchen kinks worked out.

So new it still smells like Home Depot, but it's amazing. Such good decor and vibe, great beer list and cocktail options, pub food. All about Moonshine Tavern right now.

Best bar/restaurant on this stretch of Boston Street since I've lived in B'more. Only drawback is no outside seating as of the last time I went. Their dinner menu is great, they have different specials all the time. Very reasonable brunch menu, nothing too fancy but a number of interesting dishes for everyone in your party. The staff seems great, the owners are young and have been behind the bar when I've gone. I'm a fan, hope this place does well for years to come.

Late due to rainy weather traffic, called & Chad said "Please take your time and be safe. We will hold your table." Sure enough, a reserved sign sat on our prime window table We greedily ordered Ocean Spray cocktails (three kinds of flavored moonshine), hush puppies & manchego mushroom flatbread. Hush puppies perfection--crunchy & creamy. Flatbread was lovely cheesy toast points that you slather with decadent mushroom medley. Cajun Cobb is, like all plates, presented beautifully- and bursting with freshness. A special of scallops on a tomato mushroom ragu was luxurious. Chef came out to check on tables! Cocktails for dessert---a russian bride with a hint of cinnamon from the moonshine. Ask for Chad & Robin, masters at the bar & hospitality!

Pleasantly surprised by our visit considering the turnover of bars in that area. Went using the brunch groupon for two and would likely return. Good mix of breakfast and lunch selections. The included mimosa wasn't great, but got a few more drinks off the menu...can't remember the name but the rum/ginger one was very good. Also dined with a child. Kids burger with fries was large enough for most adults.

Really solid spot - burger and hush puppies are great! Here's hoping for a summer crawfish boil!

I loved the moonshine cocktails and atmosphere, but felt the menu left something to be desired. I miss the variety of appetizers (more not fried/heavy, please!) that were offered under the previous management, such as the cheese plates. Fun spot for a drink, but wouldn't return for bar food/dinner.

I love this place!! Awesome food! Great atmosphere. I would have to give A+ on service, the servers and bartenders both know their product and promote it with enthusiasm. Did I mention the moonshine? I never knew moonshine had so many different flavors. I will definitely go back there!

We had been to Gin Mill three times. The first time, it was awesome; the second time it was not as good; the third time F&W had put it into a deep, dark place. And that was that. We noticed Moonshine from the road, and decided to try it sometime. Last night was that time. The trick with Moonshine is that it has to fill a couple roles, as someone else previously said in their review. The place was busy, which was nice to see. Most people were sitting in booths or at tables. It's been a few weeks since the place opened, and it seems the clientele are interested in one part sports bar, two parts sit-and-dine. The latter was foiled by the omnipresence of Sportscenter on at least four TVs, including two awkwardly placed in the back dining room. There was loud music, and not like New Orleans-style brass jazz or something--like club music, dance music. That's my only complaint. If they want to chase the sportsbar thing for spillover from the neighborhood or Fells, they can certainly hedge their bets. I'd recommend they turn off the TVs in the back and reserve those tables for conversation or only keep a few TVs in the place running at all, particularly around the bar. The music can be loud, but replace it with something that fits the menu, ESPECIALLY on a Tuesday night. It's a perfect excuse to run jazz or blues. There were some new restaurant growing pains, but everyone--including other diners--seemed to be enjoying themselves and the waitress, Robin, was very helpful and informative. My girlfriend had two different moonshine cocktails, and I had two drafts, the overall list of which was pretty good. She ordered the fondue-wich; I got the beef cheeks. She said the fondue-wich was okay, and I'd say the beef cheeks were exceptional. The food and service was worth the trip, though, and I highly recommend trying it. A good unique menu and very nice staff.

My fiancé and I went to Moonshine for a drink and dinner last weekend. We live up the street and we've had a groupon for a while so decided to try it out. We will absolutely be returning. We had the scallops appetizer which was amazing. I wasn't overwhelmed by the drinks but they were definitely creative. They just weren't my style. We try to go out to dinner once a week or two and it's nice to find a place that has good food, a good atmosphere and not overpriced.

We came we saw we stayed we ate...I stumbled home. Moonshine...YUM! I can't remember which one we had but it tasted like warm popcorn and it made my tummy happy. The chef I am familiar with from Kettle Hill so I already knew the food was going to be AMAZING and it WAS!! The service was discreet but personable and the only reason I am not giving this a full five stars is because I ONLY wanted the Voodoo Mussels and they didnt have any that night...but it was still AMAZING. I'm just a little spoiled!!

First, lets start with the best part of Moonshine Tavern...the drinks! They are awesome - I would love to sit and try all of the different concoctions but that could end in a rough night. The bartender was friendly about explaining the different moonshines and combinations as well. Small companies go through hoops to start distilling alcohol, and it takes time to get the right tastes/flavor. Moonshine Tavern does a great job promoting those companies! And then for the not so good...dinner and service were eh. I went with a few friends and they ordered the burger which they really enjoyed. I ordered the veg sandwich...lame, I know but it is my go-to. I mean, how can you mess this up?? Well, it came out 7-10 minutes (no exaggeration) after everyone at my table. The veg sandwich was literally a side of vegetables on top of texas toast. Who doesn't love texas toast, but it is not exactly what I wanted. Also, the fries were cold and slightly soggy. Bummer if you like them warm. Service was also lacking. They had two bartenders which would rotate at refilling drinks, bringing food, etc. I wonder if just one bartender, and one server would have been better to promote consistency.... I would definitely go back for the drinks...for dinner, not so much...great bar, bad kitchen.

Tasty food, friendly service, and great drinks. The fried grits cake with the shrimp and grits was outstanding. Highly recommend the Blackberry on Acid. The gumbo was very flavorful.

Went to Moonshine Tavern yesterday using the groupon for two Mimosa and two entrees. Needless to say they are going to need more than a groupon to bring me back. The man who sat us immediately asked "are you here for the groupon" - then bought me a watered down Mimosa and never a menu. When another lady brought us a menu didn't offer any guidance on what we could or couldn't have w/ groupon guidelines or any specials or things that weren't available. The first guy who sat us down stood in the corner for a solid five minutes texting on his phone and completely ignoring us. When he finally came over he informed me I could get anything on the menu and we placed an order for trio beignets for only him to come back 10 minutes later and inform me they were 86'd for the day. We finally placed our order w/ the other gal because the first guy is still on his phone not paying attention. It took our food about 35 minutes to come out. They took our meals to the wrong table where they sat for 5 minutes while that table touched and breathed on my food deciding it wasn't what they really ordered. So I finally get my eggs benedict- having been touched by the other table, cold eggs, and sloppy presentation. My mom ordered the strawberry beigents- which was a complete joke not a real beignet by any stretch of the imagination. We ordered bloody marys which apparently weren't placed in the computer system so when it came time to check out they put the order in for bloody marys and the bartender promptly brought them to us and when I explained "oh we already got those" he huffed and puffed like it was my fault his staff screwed up. Underwhelming food, overwhelmed staff, incorrect meals delivered, and piss poor service.

Used a Groupon as an excuse to try moonshine - never had it! We ordered a flight of moonshine (5, 1oz. shots, although it seemed like more than 1 oz.), and since there are so many to choose from (about 40 on the menu), we asked the server/bartender (3 of us sat at a hightop near the bar) to simply give us a taste of 5 of the most popular. I really recommend this and feel like I got a good sense of what moonshine is about. From 100 proof "white lightening" that barely felt wet on my tongue, to 40 proof blueberry that did indeed taste like blueberry, it was a great taste experience. Not that I'm now going to run out and buy moonshine, but I will buy another Groupon to do it again. Halfway through the tasting we stopped - powerful stuff - and ordered food - before finishing the flight. I recommend doing this as well - I imagine lots of people end up totally wasted after trying the hooch for the first time. So the food was pretty good - ordered/tasted a basic salad which was fresh and yummy with a light vinagrette, the veggie muffaletta - heavy on the bread, which was a good thing considering the hooch, the hush puppies - excellent and not overpowered by added extras like chili peppers or onion, and sweet potato fries - not a terribly large portion, and I didn't like the thin vinagery sauce that came on the side. Loved the atmosphere - very pubby and comfy and great friendly service. Easy to park on Boston Street after 6pm (weekdays, not sure about weekends). I would go back, if only to get a natty boh and watch a game at the bar - great happy hour specials, too.

I am so happy that I saw Moonshine Tavern on Groupon because who knows how long it would have been before I found this great restaurant on my own. My daughters brought me to the restaurant this evening for a belated birthday dinner (after seeing the Groupon offer I checked out their menu and as soon as I saw that they had chicken and waffles I knew this would be my pick for my special dinner). Just walking in the door I knew we had made the right choice. Even though there is no hostess the bartenders and servers immediately welcomed and seated us. The place has a funky New Orleans vibe without being overwhelming, the decor is rustic and modern at the same time and I can't wait to stop back in when the upstairs bar is open to enjoy time with friends on the big comfy leather couches and the dining areas with a gorgeous view of the waterfront. We ordered the Voodoo Mussels, Catfish Bradade and Seared Scallops as appetizers and some High School Crushes - Ole Smokey Cherry Moonshine, fresh lemon, Coca-Cola with moonshine soaked cherries for a little extra "punch". Not only did the food taste absolutely amazing but the presentation was elegant yet playful (I love the little fryer baskets the catfish was served in). Next up were the entrees, of course I couldn't wait to try the chicken and waffles and their interpretation exceeded my expectations. The blackberry coulis and moonshine maple syrup was the icing on the proverbial cake - simply scrumptious. The roasted pork shoulder was served with a tangerine applesauce that complimented the saltiness of the meat perfectly and the Baked crawdaddy orecchiette was divine with large, heavenly pieces of seafood throughout the dish. I can't recall one moment during that meal that I didn't feel taken care of, not just by our server but other staff as well. What a breath of fresh air it is to see such teamwork and comraderie. I wish I lived in Canton because this would be my neighborhood bar, Can't wait to go back.

We went to the Moonshine Tavern on Friday Feb 1st. There was no host/hostess to seat us. We finally flagged down a waitress who stated she could see us "soon". She never even took down our name. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks waiting to be seated. Needless to say, the waitress forgot about us completely. We were at the bar already for 1hr that I was so hungry and ordered wings. My husband found the waitress and she said someone was leaving soon and then we could sit. She never apologized. Also, several parties had already left and been seated. There were only 2 bartenders. One completely ignored us and the other was nice but too busy to be helpful. Never even got a chance to ask about the moonshine! Finally, the waitress comes up to us and says our booth is available. Instead of walking us to it, she just points it out across the bar -thanks. I sat down while my husband closed out our bar tab. It took him 10 mins to flag a bartender down to even do this, and we were sitting at the bar! In those 10 mins, while I sat at the booth, the waitress never came over, not even for water. My husband and I were so frustrated and hungry that we left without ever even getting an opportunity to use our Groupon. We were there for almost 2hrs! I think its lame that a place advertises a Groupon knowing that your number of customers my increase and you are going to get folks from out of town, but then you treat them like crap! This place was by far the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE i have ever experience at a baltimore restaurant/bar. NEVER AGAIN. And Groupon even gave me a refund!

Can only review based on the food; the drinks we'll save for another time. The food itself was pretty good; my steak was flavorful, but a bit thinner and a little more cooked than I would have liked. My wife's cobb salad was the best part of the meal; it was a unique twist on a cobb salad and she really enjoyed the roasted peppers, deviled eggs and TONS of bacon. We also had an order of wings with the Baltimore Buffalo sauce, which were spicy, crispy and very good. The tuna tartar app was a bit lacking in taste (it mostly tasted of cucumbers and not tuna itself) and the texture wasn't that great. Also, there's the price - we felt that for the quality of the food, this place was a bit overpriced. Our server was super nice and very attentive and the place is pretty cool inside. All in all, we'll be back for the good atmosphere and to try the delicious sounding drinks, but probably not for dinner again.

I wanted to like this place since the space is attractive and the staff seemed pretty good. Unfortunately the mixed drink that I tried was overly sugary and not very good. I'm normally wary of cocktails at bars but Myth and Moonshine is supposed to specialize in whiskey drinks. I can't comment on the food since I didn't try that, but the cocktails are nothing special at all.

First, while it is definitely a drinking hole and the light of day throws itself a little brightly on jars of moonshine and flyers for whiskey, this place is beautiful. Every wood surface is coated with unfinished pine. I didn't go so far as to smell it, but I gave myself a splinter groping the stuff. (Oh yeah: don't go groping the wood in the bar. Good advice for any occasion.) Lanterns provide light, even if you're not crunching there in full sun. It's a sizeable place, and there's iron stairs for a second level, too. I'm sad to say I didn't have grits. I will be back for grits. The hash is a wonderful savory mix of potato, pepper, and onion. It's easy to do okay hash, and let's be honest, most of us will eat the shredded potatoes from the bag. Excellent hash is alchemy. This was excellent hash. Mushroom omelette hit all the right spots. My dad devoured a burger. But there's a lot of the menu we haven't hit yet. Resolution? Maybe.

Brunch here was pretty great! Service was amazing! Bottomless mimosas! The food was pretty good also, minus the berries in the syrup.

I love this place! First of all, their happy hour goes until 8 on weeknights, which is unheard of in Baltimore city. The moonshine list is a bit overwhelming, but every one I've tried has been amazing. And this is coming from a Jersey girl who thought moonshine could only taste like rubbing alcohol. My favorite is the Catdaddy Carolina, which is infused with nutmeg and cinnamon...yum! My only complaint is that they changed the moonshine menu in the restaurant so it doesn't include the descriptions (like the menu does online), so they really should bring that back. The food is also really good. We had the crab dip, which was super delicious with a little spice and plenty of dipping bread. We've tried a lot of crab dip in Bmore, and we were impressed with this one. We also had the hush puppies, which we absolutely LOVED. So flavorful and had a great dipping sauce. I couldn't believe the happy hour price was $3...you get more than your money's worth. Can't wait to go back :)

I've given this place a lot of chances... Much like my ex boyfriend, it disappoints me every time. The drinks are great- but the food is soooooo bad. We ordered a mufflatta and the bread was so hard that I really almost broke a tooth on it. After the first bite, it looked like a scene from true blood...my mouth was bleeding. We also ordered spinach stuffed mushrooms that came out cold, atop a mound of what they call "mashed" potatoes. Rather, these potatoes were the stuff of nightmares- lumpy and hard. Hand to God, I saw an eye in there. That being said, the wine was good, the atmosphere is GREAT, and the service is pretty nice. But alas, much like an ex boyfriend, they have left me partially satisfied, and little bit more broke than when I walked in.

I love spending my evenings here with Alli Ron and Dave!!! They are the best! Food is great, I would recommend the hush puppies and crab Mac n cheese. I have the best service here- thanks myth!

I wanted to fall in love with this place, as I'm a huge fan of moonshine. The drinks are reasonably priced. But unfortunately, there was no apple pie moonshine to be found. Apple pie moonshine may be the best kind out there. I wish that they sourced their moonshine from less mega-mart moonshine brands. There are various other options out there. (Old Republic!) As for food, we ordered the crab dip, which wasn't too impressive as it barely had any crab in it. The service was fantastic. Our waitress helped us sift through the large cocktail list.

Sweet, holy, tip-toeing Zeus this place is great. The moonshine selection is great and the food is off the hook. I have never been disappointed. I am from New Orleans and the chef's Southern influence is the real deal. Try the hush puppies. The specials are amazing. I highly recommend this place.

I really love the place it's the perfect for happy hours. Cheap drinks, food, and a very friendly staff. The space is really nice, and love the ambience here. I will definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a place to go for happy hour in Baltimore.

We visited this place a ton when they first opened. The food was always really good except they would run out of things. Sometimes the service is on the slower side. Tons of great moonshine drinks. We recently went for brunch. It was my boyfriend and another friend. The new menu/added menu items are fantastic. We ordered sweet potato fries, bottomless mimosas (which are not watery, orange juice!), carb mushroom omelette, eggs benedict with carb and BACON!, and the beaudorix (spelling?) burger. They forgot lettuce and coleslaw on the burger. which kind of MAKES the burger. Our service was pretty on point but we came later than the normal 'brunch' crowd. When they brough out the coleslaw for the burger, the burger changed. I'm not really sure what the difference is in that coleslaw vs others but that burger goes from any older burger to fantastic with one topping. I think they worked out a lot of kinks. The new menu seems to be more refreshing then last. I'm also excited for whatever new restaurant concept they have come up with. In february something called 'dog mash' will emerge!

  • Kait W.

Sad to say that everything was really just..."meh." Food was over priced and menu was pretty small. Tables were not clean and very sticky. Took 40 mins to get the check and we were only one of two tables occupied in the whole place.

I've now been here 3 times since it opened a few months ago, once for drinks, once for dinner, and once for brunch, with a lot of excitement to have something like this in Canton. Overall, the menu and ambiance are both great, but the place still has some growing pains. Last time we were there there were some issues with shoddy service and undercooked meat. I was also surprised because I'd looked at the menu online ahead of time and was excited for a few things and when we got there, half the menu had been slashed. More sweet things for brunch please, I was looking forward to either the chocolate mousse crepes or the almondine croissant! In terms of the moonshine itself, it's tasty but if you've had the real thing, theirs is definitely weak and pricey. I still love the concept though. Update: The growing pains are still evident - they've now renamed themselves Myth & Moonshine and changed their menu a bunch, making it more simple NOLA-style soul food. A little bit disappointing, I liked the more adventurous things they had on there before, everything seems a bit plain now and similar to what you'd get anywhere else in the area.

Definitely go for the drinks. Drinks are interesting, tasty and reasonably priced. Food was adequate, but not amazing. Ordered hush puppies (best part of the food order), chicken and waffles, and bbq sandwich. Just not the caliber of food you'd expect for the price. Great, friendly and fun service. Overall a good experience.

Woot Woot! Down south home cooking, just like mama used to make. This place does it all. Comfort food, bar food and moonshine like in your cousins backyard. First off hush puppies are on the menu. Who does hush puppies anymore, they're like an ancient artifact. This place does them and does them well!! They are seasoned and cooked perfectly, served with a dipping sauce. I could eat baskets of them. Another deliciously fried treat is there sweet potatoes fries!! Boom!! Some places have TRIED to make good SPF but none can touch the crispy, flavorful fries they serve up here. Now lets get to the meat of this place, literally the meat. The MEATLOAF will take you back to child, if not a new happy place. Its wrapped in bacon and melts in your mouth. They serve you enough for a small army; so leftover meatloaf is always best the next. What makes this even better, they have a special, meatloaf monday!! Lets not forget about the rest of the menu. It is sure to please as well. Service is on point. They accommodate item changes and will put together items not on the menu!

Checked M&M out for brunch. The space inside is really nice and back room is cozy. I think we had a new server cause service was a little on the slow side, and we got one of the wrong entrees. So, I ate while my girlfriend waited the 7 minutes for hers to arrive. Food was good but not incredible. Beers are reasonably priced and cocktails are strong! Would visit again for drinks, but probably not for brunch.

Came in for a few drinks on an odd weekday evening. Saw their display of various "moonshines" but didn't try any. The bartenders seemed interested in cleaning and closing the bar rather than tending it---I wouldn't classify my experience as friendly. The few other patrons came in as groups, so as a lone wolf is how I stayed. The place is clean and attractive and as with most Baltimore neighborhood bars, it is in an old row house. This means exposed beams and wood which makes charm city bars charming IMO. I would come again although, I wouldn't make it a point to come again.

This place is exactly 3.5 stars. I wish I had that option! The ambiance is nice - the service was great! The moonshine cocktail list is extensive and looks good but my husband is a beer drinker, so he just ordered beers. According to him, the draft list was decent for a place not meant to be a beer place. We started with the roasted butternut squash soup which was delicious and the mussels which the server described as being excellent in a marinara sauce with a hint of spice. Unfortunately, they were just mussels in marinara sauce without much flavor. For dinner, I had the catfish po' boy which had a freshly fried catfish on a soft roll with a tasty remoulade. The fries, unfortunately, were cold and stale - somewhat ruined the experience. My husband's burger was well prepared (although rarer than the medium rare we had ordered) and we asked for a side of hush puppies which they provided at no additional cost. The hush puppies were fresh, yet too salty and I'm usually heavy on the salt - so if they're salty for me, they're salty! We ended with a sweet potato pie which our server warned us as being an individual portion but we didn't expect how little it would be. The creme bruleed sugar was the highlight of the pie but other than that, it was mediocre. The place has a lot of potential - to be fair, it's brand new, everything on the menu reads amazing - hopefully they'll catch up to the quality being as good.

Sage was an amazing waitress taking good care of us and our baby. Food was very tasty. The chipotle chicken salad is way more than you could expect. Must try. Also the tomato soup is unique. Then of course cocktails and moonshine are delicious! We need to come back and try more stuff on their awesome menu!

I have been here a few times and have ended up leaving. A friend and I decided to end up trying it one more time (because we live in the neighborhood and like to support local bars) I had such a great experience and it was due to the bartender Ashley, she was attentive and funny, she served us good drinks and may have changed my mind on this bar

Good food, drinks, drink specials, food deals and bar staff. We will gladly make our way back soon. It turns our I actually like moonshine, who knew? It's a very convenient location- right along Boston and sandwiched in between some other bars. There's a big bar right in the middle and of course they play the ravens game with sound. Plenty of parking out front, quick hot and tasty food, knowledgable staff that helps you choose from the 50+ moonshine list: what's not to like? Thanks!

Enjoyed checking this place out Saturday night. We got the crab dip which was SO good, loaded fries (they were ok), and the hush puppies which were also very good. I had the apple pie moonshine & the ocean spray cocktail. Yummy! Will be back again.

I'm really pleased with this place! Maybe we got lucky, but when we arrived, it wasn't that busy! There was just my boyfriend and I, so we decided to wait until a smaller table opened up. The staff was really attentive and made sure to offer us other options every so often, just in case we didn't want to wait the 10 minutes for one of the high-tops to open. We really had no problem waiting, it was an interesting place to be in. We sat down and got drinks, I had the Blackberry on Acid and The Cobbler. My boyfriend had the straight up Ol' Smokey Moonshine on the rocks. Both of my drinks were amazing, especially because I rarely drink liquor anyway. (More of a beer girl, what can I say) We ordered the Voodoo Mussels and the Surf and Turf Burger. Both meals came out promptly and it was all delicious. The burger was a little messy, but who cares, it's a burger. The mussels were amazing. I must warn others, it was pretty spicy. Luckily I've worked in Thai food restaurants long enough that a little heat doesn't bother me. I can definitely see where most would find it way too spicy though. Beware! The service the whole night was great, our waitress was a doll. The place wasn't too loud or crowded at all, it was really a great scene. I look forward to going again!!

So I went back to the Moonshine Tavern. They changed their name to Myth and Moonshine because some other bar had their previous name. Anyway, that's not important. I came back here to say that all of the negative things in my previous review have been corrected. This place is great. Give them your business.

We came across Moonshine tavern one sunday a while ago looking for a good brunch place that wasn't packed. There was no one in the tavern and we weren't sure what kind of brunch we'd get from a tavern, but we figured we'd check it out, and they had a chilled out table by the windows. BEST FRIED CHICKEN AND WAFFLES EVER. Soooo soooo sooo good... the sauce it came with was just delicious, the chicken was great, the waffles were crunchy, and they served it with a raspberry coulis on the side that was really nice. They could spice up their bloody mary's a bit... but the food was awesome : )

We stopped in later on a Thursday night as part of a Bucket List pub crawl. Four people, four completely different drinks, and all absolutely delicious. The bartender was able to answer all of our questions about the drinks and different spirits we hadn't heard of. I would have, however, liked for her to tell is about the bar since we mentioned it was our first time in. One of the things I really liked was the very fresh taste of the cocktails. They also were all perfectly sweetened...not too much, not too little. My strawberry rhubarb moon Mojito was the perfect balance of the twos flavors. It was fruity but not in a fake cherry Chapstick sort of way that so many drinks can be. The bar was fairly empty when we arrived so it was quiet and we could all chat. I loves the atmosphere and the dark woods. I can definitely picture I being a little crazy during happy hour or games, but our experience was positive.

Good atmosphere, lots of TV's around (we went to watch an NFL playoff game). The "moonshine" moniker, however has got to go. When thinking of moonshine, images of chest pounding grain alcohol that could make a Pacific Northwest axman quiver come up. These "moonshine" drinks were more reminscent of "Sex in the City" Fifth ave cocktails. If you are looking for something to put you on your feet, then put down the moonshine menu and just order a straight shot of bourbon. If you are feeling overly sweet cocktails that leave a horrid taste in your mouth, then your best bet is one of their moonshines.

Well tried this place on a groupon and i will start with the positives the bartender was cool, he even comped a drink which i frankly dont know why he did. Anyhow, onto the food it wasnt good. I ordered hush puppies to start which came with a dipping sauce/remoulade i think, it was alright. My friend claims it wasnt fried thoroughly enough. I ordered the chicken and waffles, the waffles came cold (like it had been sitting there for ever or even worse pre-cooked). The chicken wasnt too bad but one piece of chicken which had it been on the regular menu $16 (no thanks). My mimosa which came with the promotion was OJ essentially, however the moonshine mojito that i ordered was pretty strong. So the highlights of the meal the cool bartender and the strong mojito, dont think i will be doing brunch here anytime soon, maybe try their dinner to observe a difference.

I loved this place. I'm not really a moonshine drinker, but I might be now! Also, their happy hour goes till 8. They have drinks with moonshine in them, as well as shots. They allow you a sample of 5 shots, and I would recommend the ones with fruit. I tried two that had XXX in them and it was a bit of a struggle. Their food was great too! I had a mushroom soup thing with toast and it was excellent. Also, sweet potato fries. Come on, they were soooo good! I can't wait to go back and try more food!

My husband and I went to Moonshine Tavern for the Forgotten Cocktails event a few weekends ago and ended up in the restaurant for some food afterwards. We didn't drink much from the tavern because of the nature of the event but did end up ordering a shot of one of the Apple Pie moonshines (which was delicious!). I'm sure we'll go back and explore some more of their extensive moonshine menu. We snacked on the duck beignets which were very tasty but not exactly beignets...more like duck in puff pastry than duck in a doughnut. I forgive them the name because it was delicious! We also split the burger - it didn't scream unique but it was very flavorful and better than plenty of other burgers I've had in this town. I'm looking forward to trying it again and giving it a more in depth review. The 4 stars is a show of faith given the nice introduction we had to Moonshine Tavern.

I'd give this a 2.5. I think the taste of the drinks kind of sum up this place--sweeter than you'd expect and they taste a lot more like food service syrups than homemade. I love the idea of moonshine, and they have a huge selection. But when it's mixed in drinks with sodas like Dr. Pepper and Sprite, you know ahead of time it'll be too sweet. I got a mint julep-type moonshine cocktail and it reminded me of what Sweet Mint Orbitz gum tastes like. I ordered a Natty Boh after that. We had the chicken box (fairly greasy, kind of bland), the burger (not bad, but couldn't distinguish any of the fancy toppings), and the fries, which were fine. I asked for a side salad and got one doused in overly sweet dressing. The servers were really friendly and attentive. They were patient when I had a lot of questions about what I should order (I was really hungry). But that's as far as the positives go.

When I read about Moonshine Tavern on a Groupon special, I couldn't stop wondering, "How did I not know this place existed?!" Then I discovered it was because they didn't exist, yet anyway -- they opened for the first time several weeks later. Interesting publicity stunt; it certainly got my attention! Although I tried several times to call for a reservation, at various hours and dates, the phone simply rang and didn't go through to either voicemail or a live person. So we took our chances on an Thursday evening with no reservation, and were escorted to the best seat in the house: a table in front of the fire. It was heavenly! Parking was way easier than I'd thought it would be, but again, that might be the time and day of the week. This will probably sound silly, but I didn't realize moonshine was a legit drink -- I thought it had to come from an illegal still in the woods. In fact, it's just corn whiskey with a characteristic burn that can be tempered by aging and mixology. We tried several versions, some of which were great and some just okay. Our best luck was when we asked for specific recommendations based on our taste: I like a little more depth and less sweetness, for instance, so the High School Crush tasted a little too much like cold medicine to me, but the Irish Mule was deliciously spicy. The food was wonderful, a great combination of comfort staples with fresh, inventive accents. We ordered the Devils on Horseback, dates wrapped in caramelized bacon, but as they were out of dates they prepared the dish with okra instead; I think that might have been even better. We wanted to order more, but held off since there were so many other things we wanted to try. The andouille was great, served with housemade pickles and mustard remoulade. The grilled Caesar was to die for, especially the crunchy Parmesan crisps -- and if hot salad sounds weird to you, I dare you to try it and not love it. For an entree, we split the burger, which was delicious but way too underdone. We ordered it medium, and it was completely pink / red inside. I decided not to complain since we were having such a good time, and I actually enjoyed the burger as it was; I just couldn't look too closely. (I'm a total wimp about pink meat; I usually order it medium so it will come out medium-well!) It helped that, again, the acoutrements were so good: spicy slaw, rich cheese, ripe tomato and a homemade buttery brioche roll. The hush puppies were way too underdone, too; they did warn us that their "traditional-style" hush puppies have a "creamy" interior, but it tasted like they just hadn't been in the fryer long enough to me. Again, great flavor, though. I also appreciated that they served the burger and hush puppies on two separate plates so we didn't have to bonk heads while sharing. We weren't planning to order dessert, but pots de creme are among my favorites, and their butterscotch version caught our attention. It was caramel-y, creamy heaven! My girlfriend and I had some major catching up to do, so we stayed a full three hours eating, drinking and enjoying some testosterone-free time. No one gave us the evil eye, rushed to grab our empty plates or pressured us in the least; in fact, every time our waiter checked on us (which wasn't overly frequent) he apologized for disturbing our conversation! I was most impressed by this aspect of the dining experience, as the American tendency to be overly efficient about eating out is one of my biggest pet peeves. There also appears to be great communication between the staff, as the bartender brought our drinks several times and stayed to chat. Again, this is (unfortunately) a rare treat in the restaurant world. Overall, the sophisticated-but-homey atmosphere at Moonshine is well worth the trip. With our Groupon, our check was tiny, but even without it, the prices are reasonable enough to make meals here a regular treat.

Moonshine Tavern is a decent place to come for food, but I can't say I'm impressed. We came here for dinner on Saturday evening after making reservations on OpenTable. The restaurant was pretty crowded when we arrived and the host seemed a bit disorganized. He couldn't find our reservation at first and then he couldn't find our table. The concept of moonshine cocktails doesn't really appeal to me, but the beer selection is decent and prices are solid. I ordered an allagash white, which satisfied my desire for wheat beer. My boyfriend ordered a natty boh. The drink service was quick and efficient. For dinner my boyfriend ordered the beet salad with grilled chicken and I ordered the quarter muffaletta. I feel like I'm not the best person to review the sandwich because I've never had one before, so maybe it's just not my thing. Either way, I didn't enjoy it. The focaccia bread was way too greasy and the salami was very tough. I could barely chew through the sandwich. I know I ordered the smallest size, but there was barely any meat in the sandwich either. I didn't finish it and I definitely wouldn't order it again. It was served with fries though, which were seasoned well and very fresh! My boyfriend's salad was delicious. The salad looked beautiful. The beets were fresh, the chicken was well seasoned, and the flavors worked well together. I should have ordered what he had! Our service was okay. It was very quick until we finished our meals. We had to wait about 25 minutes between when we finished eating and when we received our bill, which was annoying. I'd still try Moonshine Tavern again. I like the beer selection and the ambiance and while I didn't enjoy my food, I'm willing to try something different.

I was underwhelmed - at least for the food. I went for dinner and got the fried chicken and waffles. This is a classic and an important barometer of the food quality in my mind. The chicken was soggy on the outside (the batter) and dry on the inside. Also, the waffles were a bit burnt. It was difficult to even cut the waffles because not only were they burnt, but they were chewy. Belgian waffles should be crisp on the outside. Not coming here again...

We have been coming to Moonshine frequently since it opened. A nice change from canton square and fells scene. Friendly staff and bartenders with reasonable price. They had a great selection of mojito (white lightening, fresh strawberry and blueberry ) last night!

The entire place smells like strong cleaning product and bleach. The staff are super rude. Very indignant and smug. The wait time is unbelievably long for food that is mediocre at best. They blast awful country music early in the morning. We waited for over an hour and after checking on the status of our food 3 times, one waiter said the order never made it to the kitchen. I said that was unacceptable and he said "so what, what do you want me to do?" Then I just got up and left.

Love this place! Great food, excellent service, friendly people. You have to try the spiced moonshine, Catdaddy. It tastes like a Snickdoodle! I get it with diet coke. Yumm :) My other favorite drink is the blackberry on acid. Sweet, tart, delucious. I discovered this place when my friend had a private birthday party upstairs. They were awesome and took great care of us!

Food was fantastic but service was dismal. Don't go here hoping for food during what may be a somewhat crowded time; this place needs to figure itself out before it fails like the rest of the businesses that tried succeeding in this location.

Fantastic spot. It is rare when a place tries to be a lot of things and succeeds. This is one of those places. Their food is very tasty. Did I say healthy? Tasty. Imagine a tavern that sells funky moonshine and provides victuals with a french twist. Yes, my brain hurts just thinking about it. The pricing is across the board as they have expensive tasty short ribs and seafood as well as reasonable high quality burgers and sandwiches. The presentation is solid on just what I am used to. My friend is a VEGAN and they even took care of him. There appetizers are fantastic. Their portion sizes very considerably so you need to ask before you order if you are really hungry. Many TVs, variety of people, and overall great atmosphere. This place is deceivingly big. I have been back twice and each time the food was better than the last. They had $5 taco platters on Tuesday night which were fantastic. Next time I will request extra salsa. They seemed to have a decent beer selection and that funky moonshine. Highly recommend.

I had avoided going to this place for sometime. I think I was projecting my ill feelings for the establishment that resided at said address. I'm glad I went. I didn't eat, but we did order sides (hush puppies, fries and greens). The pork and collard greens were fantastic. What I did go for was the moonshine. We had a mason jar of the house moonshine to split. We also tried several others. The two that require note were the 176 proof and the one that tastes like apple pie. Everything was smooth (I expected it to burn). Ask the bar staff for the one's that fit this description. They are nice and will help. This is deliciously dangerous establishment and I look forward to future nights.

My wife and I went here on Friday night and were pleasantly surprised with the food, the cocktails and the service. We both had the "White Manhattan" cocktail which was a version of the Manhattan using unaged whisky instead of bourbon. It was excellent and packs a bit of a wallop. My wife had the pork chop special which was absolutely huge and I had the "whiskey ribs" special. Both dishes were very good and not greasy at all. The ribs were lean and melt in your mouth tender and the mashed potatoes that my ribs came on were the real deal.. very chunky and potatoey (which I enjoy). We had a brownie for dessert which was light and fluffy and appeared to have been individually baked to order. That was a nice touch. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. We would definitely return.

Decent. Went on a rainy Tuesday night, a few people in. Server was good, greeted us right away and explained the moonshine concept. Draft selection was ok, varieties of moonshine was neat, but not something life changing. Food was ok. My friend had a burger, I had the veggie sandwich. Quality was good, but definitely not worth the cost. Overall a good place, but I don't see their price points justifying the experience.

A lot of potential here. Friday night, sat at a table in the bar area by the window. I had the Skinny Gringo which was essentially a margarita (I'm not a whiskey girl) and my boyfriend had one of the moonshine drinks which he liked. For food, I had the saffron risotto with scallops and while he wanted the rockfish (which they were out of) he got the braised short rib. While the prices & portions wwre honestly smaller than I expected, the food was legit amazing. My risotto was so creamy and flavorful and his short rib was so tender and the greens were awesome. We had a great time watching the Terps game while we were there & would definitely come again!

I bought a Groupon for Moonshine Tavern to use with my in-laws since none of us had been there yet, it seemed like a good time to check it out. I thought the atmosphere was lovely and really unique- a nice improvement over the former Gin Mill. Our server was polite enough but not particularly attentive, we might have liked a second mimosa but we weren't asked. I say "might" because they were pretty watery mimosas especially for us bring the first to be served that morning... We did have a reservation through Open Table but we weren't asked about that when we arrived either, but no big deal as there was plenty of seating when we arrived. Here's where I feel like griping: the brunch menu offered more lunch options than breakfast type foods- mmm beet salad at 11am! (Don't get me wrong, I love beet salad, but not before noon.) Their menu online was not exactly what we were offered. I guess that some days they do not offer the full menu, I really have no idea, I would have asked but I didn't review the menu online before making our reservation so I didn't know to ask. Where was the eggs benedict, or the truffle omelet or the Jailbird (creamed chipped beef)? I pretty much like everything in the world and am not a picky eater- I ordered the Croque Madam. I didn't know exactly what it was that I was ordering but based on the ingredients it seemed like something I would enjoy. I guess I should have asked what it was- It was a great big thick grilled cheese sandwich with an egg on top. Dude, just put it IN the sandwich- minor complaint because then I had to take apart my sandwich to put it intside. It was very good though, but a bit too big for me. I only ate half and gave the other portion to my fiance. I also only ate half for another reason which I will get to now. My fiance and his parents all ordered the Banana Foster Pancakes. Emphasis on the "S" in pancakes. Truth of it is, you only get ONE pancake. I mean, ok its a large pancake, plate sized but its fairly thin which would probably suit me, but for a big guy like my fiance, it wasn't nearly enough. And it didn't offer sides. It was just a $9 single pancake. Um...Had we not had the Groupon, I would have been pretty pissed. Thats just stupid. There were not breakfast drink options either other than the regulars such as a mimosa or a bloody mary. For a place that seems to focus on their cocktails as their thing, it might be nice to incorportate that into a breakfast beverage. Maybe include on the brunch menu some signature craft cocktails with fruit indusions or something. It just seemed a little off kilter and our experience wasn't stellar. I certainly enjoyed my food but I was not impressed by their brunch offerings and will not be going back. I might try a happy hour sometime with friends if someone wanted to check it out but when I can get great craft cocktails elsewhere at RYE and better and more reasonably priced food, I would probably go elsewhere too... All over my experience was...meh. Glad I tried it but probably won't head back any time soon.

For all of you who don't know what a moonshine is, it is basically a flavored whiskey cocktail drink. This place named after the drink, sells hundreds of different kind of moonshines as they have every flavor you can think of in the menu. I would recommend trying the Catdaddy. It's a very Christmassy drink, as it is flavored with nutmeg, vanilla, and cinnamon. A drink that makes every day feel like Christmas, what can go wrong with that? The food here is not that bad as well. Their late night special for hush puppies are only 3 dollars. They are not the best hush puppies I ever had, but I would recommend you to get this if you are trying to fill your empty stomach with something before drinking. Their food is mostly southern food. I would definitely come again to try some of their food.

Went for an early dinner on Saturday night. My husband and I were greeted instantly by a friendly server. Multiple servers were at our table, and it was a perfect balance of being available while not imposing. I had a cocktail and my husband had moonshine on the rocks. Both were fantastic! We ordered burgers on the servers suggestion, which were also delicious and cooked to order. The food came out quickly. We will be back!

Was very excited to try a new restaurant in Fells; Fork & Wrench was a great addition. Unfortunately this was not. At least at the Gin Mill I got good service. We decided to try out the new concept on February 2nd. I understand this was close to the opening, but there is no excuse for the service we received. We were seated immediately but then didn't get our drinks ordered for 10 minutes. We ordered appetizers and then waited while the busser, who may have been a baltimore crackhead, walked around the restaurant asking different tables if they had ordered the mussels. When there are only 6 occupied tables in a restaurant there is no excuse for this. 45 minutes after ordering, they brought 2 of the 6 entrees to the table. The food sat for 20 minutes before we complained that the other plates had not arrived. I requested they bring us something else when the rest of the food was ready. After another 10 minutes the entirety of our order was brought to the table. The busser had no idea who ordered what and at first brought the food to the table next to ours. The plate my girlfriend had previously taken a bite out of was given to one of our friends. When we finally finished the meal, which was not terrible, it took 20 minutes to get the check. No one checked in to see how the food was, no one offered to get us more drinks, and when we were begging to give them our money it took way too long. Having been in the F&B industry for 15+ years the level of service we received was pathetic. If you aren't ready to handle 6 tables consisting of 15 people, don't open your doors. I would have rather sat at the bar and ordered appetizers and moonshine instead of spoiling any future fun I may have had at this restaurant. I hope you get your act together. Train your staff, the food was good.

My girlfriend and I were walking by and stopped to check out the menu. I had heard good things before and was interested in trying this place out. Thursday is burger night. You get a burger, fries or a salad and an on-tap beer for $10. First I will say our server Sage was awesome. Friendly, local, engaging and just all around everything you'd want in a server. We both got burgers cooked medium and fries and an IPA. I have to say they were amazing! I've had a lot of locally sourced beef before and you can taste the difference. They were seasoned perfectly and the coleslaw and bread on it were a perfect accompaniment. We will definitely be back for brunch hand soon! One last thing, they have this BBQ/Vinegar sauce on the table that is amazing on the fries... I doused mine.

Tried Myth and Moonshine for the first time this past Saturday for brunch. A friend and I, both recent transplants to Baltimore, are both total foodies and have many places on our to try list. After perusing some of the suggested brunch places, we decided on M&M-their menu hit the right note with us Saturday. I already had my heart set on the french toast that I had seen on their online menu, but once we were seated and our server went over the "farmer's market brunch"-how the chef walks down to the fell's point farmer's market each weekend day for the summer and buys what appeals to him and plans the brunch menu on his way back, well, knowing that, how could I order off the regular menu? I ordered the breakfast burger special and my friends both ordered the eggs benedict special. Everything was delicious. This is the first restaurant we have tried where we made plans to come back (for trivia and/or burger nights!) before we even settled the bill. This was in large part due to our server Sage-she provided excellent service, and on top of that, she was just an extremely pleasant and engaging person, our dining experience was really a treat, due to both the yummy food and the personality and skill of Sage!

I went to Myth and Moonshine over the weekend for brunch. I have never been there for brunch before and thought I would give it a try since the only other times I have been there for for late night drinking. They have a solid brunch menu. Not only do they offer bottomless mimosas and bloody mary's but, they also offer folks an option of a flavored moonshine to the mimosa instead of orange juice. My friends ordered theirs with a strawberry moonshine and it was quite refreshing and not too sweet. What I liked about their brunch menu is that they offer a farmer's market brunch on the weekends. This means that the chef goes down to the farmer's market and buys ingredients fresh from the vendors and prepares a special for the weekend. They have specials on their menu to reflect these choices. I ordered a special burger that came with basil, swiss chard (one of my favorite greens) and provolone cheese, and tomatoes. I ordered my burger with their potato hash, which was also delicious. It came with microgreens and cilantro. My friends all ordered the special eggs benedict and while I didn't taste it, it looked amazing and everyone said they enjoyed their dish. I think Myth & Moonshine might be one of my brunch favorites in the area. :)

The name really caught our attention when my boyfriend, his sister and I were looking for a place with some yummy drinks. We sat at the bar and were left a little disappointed with the happy hour menu. We started off with round of the moonshine cocktails. I originally ordered the Blackberry on Acid drink but it was a bit too strong for me so I switched drinks with my boyfriend. He ordered the Pop and the Giant Peach and it was delicious and sweet. We wanted to try more of the moonshines so we asked about the moonshine flight. For some reason it wasn't on the menu. For $17 you can try 5 of the moonshines. The bartender was kind enough to give us 6 moonshines to try. We were given a long list of different moonshines that varied from unflavored to fruit flavored. My favorite shine was the moonpie banana. M&M also has moonshines that you can buy near the bar area. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered had the crabcake sliders appetizer. These were pretty good. I also had a bite of the chicken and waffles and it was delicious! The chicken was very tender and went well with the waffle. I would definitely order this next time. Service was excellent throughout dinner and drinks. The bartender even hooked us up with some deals. I look forward to coming back!

I have to recommend checking out Myth and Moonshine if you're in the area. A few friends who live in Baltimore recommended we meet there on a recent trip down and found it was a great rendezvous spot, at the least . A good few notches your average pub food with some cool spins on classics you'd expect to see. I particularly enjoyed the crab cakes and found the wings to be to exactly right where I like them to be in terms of texture and sauciness. Everyone in the group enjoyed their experience. Otherwise, the great draft selection, good service and cool low-key décor and vibe make for a good time. Would revisit. PS Our service was excellent but what really blew me away is that the server automatically brought us separate checks.

I love this place. I have heard about it from my friends but I was extremely impressed with the service and the food. My boyfriend and I had the blackberry on acid cocktail and it was not too strong but delicious. We ate sweet sriacha chili wings which were not too overpowering. We also had the southern sampler which had deviled eggs, Carolina pulled pork and the best hush puppies I have ever had. The vibe in this place is Awesome! Great music, good bartenders, and delicious food!

The first time I came here, it was super awkward. The two bartenders were in the middle of a spat, so that killed the mood of the evening. That was probably well over a year or so ago though. I went back a few months ago, and the service had obviously improved. No uncomfortable personal problems being thrown about, and the drinks were great- to boot! I'd highly suggest their moonshine-based White Russian. Mmmm mmm! Don't get their cheesecake though. It was gross, but it could have been because it was half fudge or something. I don't even know. It was just gross, IMO.

Went here with a group of friends for the Ravens' last playoff game. Decent bar with an about average beer selection. I've heard their moonshine concept hasn't really taken off, so that they're pretty much a standard bar akin to a lot of places in the Canton-Fells corridor. Had a pretty good sammy, their Chesapeake Chicken Salad Sandwich, which has both chicken salad and shrimp salad on it. Tasty! They definitely could have used more servers for a big game day. The barkeep I knew from another local place busted his butt to cover the bar and deliver food to tables, but the wait was prolonged at times. Prices are indicative of their primo Boston Street location.

After contemplating which restaurant to try in Canton, my sister and I decided to give this place a shot. We were lured in by the moonshine flight and cajun/pub food menu. To our surprise, this place was damn near empty on a Friday night around dinner time. We were greeted and seated immediately. We decided to order hush puppies while we were picking what we wanted to try for our moonshine flight. The hush puppies are a must! They are crunchy, a little sweet, served in a delicious creamy sauce, and are ginormous. Not to mention they were just a fun appetizer. Our server helped us pick our flight of moonshine and we decided on: apple pie, peach, blackberry, honey suckle (omg good) and libertea (woo-eeee! strong). We like ourselves some liquor, but a flight of moonshine isn't as fun to taste as you may imagine. Even the yummiest moonshine is a bit harsh. However, it was a fun experience and definitely helped is work up an appetite. For our entrees we ordered the crabby grilled cheese with sweet potato fries and a surf n turf burger with french fries. We split them and shared since we couldn't decide what we wanted. The crabby grilled cheese was a winner. Crunchy buttery bread filled with cheesy lumps of crab... It was over-the-top good. The surf and turf burger (hamburger topped with a crab cake) was also a decadent treat. It practically melted in our mouths. Although we ordered way more than two girls should ever eat in one sitting, we devoured it all. Our check was a little pricey, but we did have an appetizer, drinks, and two crab entrees, so it was well worth it. Our waitress was really great. She was attentive, knowledgable about the moonshine and menu, and was pretty sweet and funny. The restaurant was casual, clean, and pretty spacious. Overall, we had an excellent experience. I definitely plan on coming back.

Meh. We came here for a drink or two to kill some time after dinner, and to use our drink deck coupon since we were close by. The atmosphere is really odd, or at least it was at like 4-5pm on a Saturday. It was dark and semi empty, and the décor was odd in that it was like rustic-country, but with weird lighting that reminded me of a club. Our bartender was really friendly, a tall blonde, and our drinks were delicious, if a bit "summery." I had the "Southern Belle" and my boyfriend had the white Manhattan. We can see ourselves coming back in the summertime.

Finally had the chance to try Myth & Moonshine with my girls the other night. The occasion was bittersweet (sending one of us off to Boston for a new job), but the spirits were high. We started with drinks at the bar, and although the cocktails were tasty, I was disappointed that their beer list was about 75% out of stock. The bartender was friendly and apologetic, but I had to laugh out loud when he responded to my "Are you out of the _____?" with "Oh we'll have it in next week!!". Perfect, I'll wait!!! Luckily the chicken and waffles more than made up for the sparse beer offerings. This dish is for real. Don't you dare come here without trying it, or the Ghost of Waffles Past will come and haunt yo' ass. I'll make sure of it. (Hint: the ghost is me, and I will eat all the chicken-n-waffles without you.) Other winning items? Crab dip and sweet potater fries!!! Salads and sammies also looked super tasty, so this lil spooker will be back for more in full force!

I don't even think words can describe the hell I just experienced at this establishment. My husband and I have been going here for a while. I always loved it and finally convinced my friends to try it out. Unfortunately, Myth and Moonshine embarrassed me. We ordered my favorite drink, the signature High School Crush, which clearly states on the menu is made with Coke. The waitress brought us 4 clear drinks, obviously NOT made with Coke. I asked her to fix this mistake and she began arguing with me, saying the menu had changed. I pointed out to her that the menu STILL had Coke listed as the mixer, and she continued to argue with me. Additionally, she brought us a completely different food order from what we had ordered. Once we finally got the drink issue situated, we ordered another round....and in came more clear beverages. So not only does she not know the menu, she completely disregarded our previous discussion. I understand the waitress does not make the drinks, but part of her job is to make sure the orders are correct before bringing them to the table. A drink made with COKE should never be confused with a CLEAR beverage. I am so appalled by this experience and will NEVER return here. This place used to be so good. I'm not sure what happened. I should also add that the bathroom is unisex, has more than 1 stall, and the door can be locked (it isn't a single personal bathroom where only one person goes in at a time). My husband was accidentally locked in there while he was in a stall, and 2 females were undressing in front of the mirror. While that situation was harmless, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really seem too safe for females.

I mean, they sell moonshine. What's not to love? DRINKS: Pop and the Giant Peach. Way too sweet for me. Moonshine Mule. Really good. Loved the ginger beer pairing and it was just mild enough. Blackberry On Acid. Also pretty sweet, but it was good. FOOD: Crabby Grilled Cheese. It was pretty good. A little messy, but a good sandwich. The tomato soup is excellent! It really tasted like it was made from scratch....even though Campbell's would've been fine with me. Mufalleta. I've never even heard of the word and the idea of fried eggplant sounded blah to me. BUT this sandwich was SO good! And the fries were really good also. Southern Ice Cream Sandwich. Like...what?!?! Vanilla ice cream.....WITH strawberries on top....BETWEEN waffles....that are seemingly made with cinnamon and other goodness?! WInner. AMBIANCE: They had a cover band that played "Queen of California" by John Mayer and "No Diggity" by Blackstreet. Soooo...yeah, 10s across the board from me on the live music. I love the casual rustic nature of this place. Nice casual date/outing.

Location was not hard to find and parking wasn't too much of a hastle. We stopped in for Sunday brunch & were able to be seated promptly. I liked that the waterfront was in sight from our bar seats and that the bartender and hostess were both warm, welcoming, and informative. Honestly everyone working seemed happy to be there, happy about their jobs, and happy to inform us about their farm to table cuisine and vast variety of craft cocktails and moonshine. Chastity was awesome, such a fun bubbly and bright spirit, she literally put this 4 star dining experience above 5 stars being so personable and turned our Sunday into Fun day!!! I'll be back for Sunday brunch just for the "Chazz". We enjoyed the Baltimore hot wings very much and the sweet waffle with the chicken and waffles dish had its own unique flair. Hubs would have enjoyed his stuffed french toast to be more. . . Well.... stuffed :/ looking at it on his plate, it did not appear stuffed at all to me and rather instead looked like french toast with berry topping. He said that it was tasty and devoured the whole thing but it just seemed to miss the point of being stuffed as each piece literally had no filling. What sets them apart from other brunch options in Bmore is oh me oh my alllllll thee wonderful moonshine I sampled!!!! My first cocktail named the Southern Bell was like a peach tea with moonshine & made my heart smile. My second cocktail named the black and blue combined cherry, blackberry, and blueberry moonshine with sprite and was delicious with a good punch making my soul glow, but then we had a moonshine flight.... of 5... DELECTABLE. .. shots of 80-110proof assorted types of moonshine and well.... here is why I am composing this review in the car on my way home from Myth and Moonshine.... because now they hold a special.... YUMMO.... place in my heart that I couldn't wait another second to tell you about. Bravo Myth and Moonshine & Bravo Chastity. You're both out of this world! !!!

I really like the moonshine cocktails here! Nice place for a date night and the bartender is very nice. I told her I had a coupon and she said she could not accept it. She ended up giving me my drink for free, which was really nice. My boyfriend got the crabcakes and they were a decent size and flavorful. Not your best in Baltimore, but defintiely a good choice. I got some sort of jambalaya sort of dish that was filling and had a good spice to it. Overall, I'd say if you're looking to try somewhere different and unique in Baltimore, Myth and Moonshine would be a good choice.

I came here for dinner and brunch. Both times were great!! Both times we had Ally (not sure on the spelling) as our bartender/server and she was awesome. Very attentive and friendly. One of my new favorite places for sure. And will be back for brunch next weekend!!

Love this bar. Its a great place for date night because its cozy and romantic but it's also casual and fun so it's great for fun outings with friends as well. I've never had a bad meal here. Their cocktail list is extensive, fun and delicious. My husband and I enjoy bringing out of town friends here (who enjoy liquor) to try the moonshine flights. One day I hope to make it to brunch-I've heard great things!

Bar food comes in many shapes and sizes. There's your mediocre wing joint, the place that serves awesome tots, the place that keeps the kitchen open until 3 and then there's the bar that adds a clever twist to your food and makes you keep coming back for more. Myth and Moonshine is the latter, their menu is full of traditional bar fare, but plenty of the items have an interesting creole twist to them. On a Saturday night, my friend and I were looking to grab dinner before hitting the bars so we decided to try Myth and Moonshine in Canton. Unfortunately, when we got to the bar at 7:30, some girl was having a bachelorette party so it was already loud but that didn't deter us from enjoying our meal. Myth and Moonshine is another one of the restaurants that we have a dining card for. Here are all the restaurants I've reviewed that I have a city dining card for. After looking over the menu, my friend who is a true Marylander, decided to order the Crabby Grilled Cheese. It was loaded with MD blue crab and cheddar jack cheese on griddled sourdough. She loved this sandwich and devoured it. I was just in the mood for a burger and decided to order the Bordeaux Burger. It's a Cast-Iron Seared locally sourced beef topped with southern style slaw, crimson tomato slice, and cheddar jack cheese on griddled brioche. This was the best burger I've ever had (sorry Abbey Burger) the piece of meat was so juicy and cooked perfectly. In addition the slaw was great and added a nice crunch. Both the burger and the grilled cheese came with a side of Fries. The French Fries were seasoned nicely and it was a perfect sized portion. We also ordered the Beignets for dessert. The menu stated that the recipe was from Cafe Du Monde so we were excited to try these. Unfortunately they were extremely dense and doughy and we were not a fan. For some great bar food with an interesting twist, as well as possibly the best burger I've ever had, head over to Myth and Moonshine in Canton.

Me & my friend decided to check this place out and I'm glad we did . We walked in & damn near crawled out ... The bartenders at this place was pretty cool & fun ; even hooked us up with a little fruit cocktail chaser . By the end of the night I ended up having 8 different shots of Moonshine , 1 was so good I tried to buy 2 bottles of it but unfortunately they were short stock ... But I'll be back in the middle of the week to purchase them when they restock . It's a Cool place to meet & greet , hang out with friends , or just to get a strong drink. Only suggestion I would make is that they add more to the food menu ( & I know it's a gastropub ) not to say I wasn't happy with the food but I was expecting more options

In town for vacation and looking for brunch with a bar atmosphere. Myth and Moonshine was just was we were looking for. Had the Farmer's Market Head Start and it was delicious. Great flavor. Can't miss out on the bottomless mimosas. All in all it was the perfect local gem for my short time in Baltimore. Don't miss out!

Place is clean. My husband and I went about a week ago and had a blast. The drinks aren't too strong and the burger was less than fantastic but the sweet potatoes fries were amazing! Bartenders are also very nice and friendly.

I can't say enough about these guys! Bartenders are fantastic folks. So personable and friendly! I had Ashley and Dave serve us and they went way out of their way on a buddy night to make us feel welcome! I loved the way they did a shot with me. I stuck around all night feeling like I was at a party instead of a business. Food was amazing . chef cane out to see if we liked it. M usually not a fan of gastropub food but their Bourbon burger and crabby grilled cheese were amazing!! Thanks guys. Good times! ;-)

The moonshine drinks are awesome. Even with strong liquor they are really delicious. They have a bit of bite, but that comes with the territory. The food was also well-priced and delicious. The only real issue in the area is always parking, but the drink was well worth it.

We have walked by this restaurant several times, and we are so happy that we finally stopped in! My husband ordered The Crabby Burger and homemade fresh fries and stated that this was one of the best burgers that he has ever had. I am a vegetarian and there were several vegetarian and vegan options for me to choose from. I ended up ordering The Farmer's Market Muffaletta and the side salad with homemade strawberry chipotle dressing. It is usually difficult for me to be impressed by a veggie sandwich, however everything about this was perfection. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and the olive tapenade was a great addition to this sandwich. I highly recommend this spot for lunch or dinner, and would also recommend this as place to take your out of town guests!

This was my first time trying Myth and Moonshine and I was excited to try a new place. The first thing I ordered was a Pop and the Peach moonshine drink which was very good. Soooo good I ordered 2 of them. Lol. For appetizers we tried the hushpuppies which was really tasty and the duck confit sweet potato fries...uhhhh they fell short. It just wasnt good. For entrees I ordered chicken and waffles and my friend ordered the Mac & cheese with steak. My friend enjoyed her meal however my chicken was overcooked... too chewy. I had to send it back. The 2nd round was much better and the waffle was accompanied with syrup and some type of strawberry sauce mixed with moonshine. They need to bottle it and sell it. It was soooooo frikkkin good I had to take some to go. DJM please....lol I took my food home so I had room for dessert *insert grin here* and we went with the Bananas Foster which was just ok. Honestly I think this place is great for drinks and possibly brunch. I heard they have an amazing brunch on Sundays, the chef goes to the farmers market to get certain dishes, which I cant wait to try. They also have a Drag brunch.

I'm baffled by any rating above 2 stars for this place. It's possible that on a Friday night, we managed to get the worst Kitchen staff, but this was a big disappoint. To be fair, this is listed as Bar first, and that is absolutely the approach you take to this place. First off, the good. Good that 4 could seat fast on a Friday! There's a good amount of space (the lack of people certainly helped), to move around in. The drinks were pretty good! Big selection and a great mix of flavors on the cocktail menus. The Moonshine Mule was definitely the highlight drink. All front of house staff were very friendly, attentive,...certainly no issues there. The food had a very clear night and day between how the menu reads an item, and what you receive. For an appetizer: "Sriracha-Tomato Cream Soup - Sautéed scallions, heirloom cherry tomatoes, and cilantro broth finished with coconut cream." So says the menu. There was nothing "cream" about it, it was all broth. It looked like a can diced tomatoes from a store heated up with a dash of Sriracha. I didn't taste the coconut cream, the cilantro was piled on top, and the normally great cherry tomatos were just lost in this broth. My entree was the Canton Crab Cake ($23), which had an absolutely pitiful panko batter. Under-seasoned by far, but again, topped with a copious amount of micro-sorrel. A side of garlic mashed potatoes, which was absolutely nothing special, and spicey, wet corn. There was a line of Remoulade on the plate, which helped the crab out, but not enough (yo, bud, add some butter, guy). My bae bae ordered a special the black&blue mac and cheese, which was flavorless (how?), and you could make far better at home on your first time. Which is the theme of this place: I could've made this better myself. The decor doesn't really stick out in any way compared to other restaurants/bars in the area. Didn't love a kitchen staff-mate giving me a nice "how you doin sweetheart?" 2 inches from my face on my way to the unisex bathroom, which is, also a foot away from the kitchen. When all is said is done for 2 entrees, 1 app, and 3 drinks, we came out around $120, and for 2 people and such badly made meals, I'd really recommend going somewhere else to eat. Be tickled by the amount of moonshine, get a drink, and go.

Good times! ;-)

Place is clean. My husband and I went about a week ago and had a blast. The drinks aren't too strong and the burger was less than fantastic but the sweet potatoes fries were amazing! Bartenders are also very nice and friendly.

I came here for dinner and brunch. Both times were great!! Both times we had Ally (not sure on the spelling) as our bartender/server and she was awesome. Very attentive and friendly. One of my new favorite places for sure. And will be back for brunch next weekend!!

Sad to say that everything was really just..."meh." Food was over priced and menu was pretty small. Tables were not clean and very sticky. Took 40 mins to get the check and we were only one of two tables occupied in the whole place.

  • Ankush R.

This place is a gem! The burger is to die for! LOVE the selection of moonshine cocktails, and it has the BEST crabdip I've ever had...SMOKED CRABDIP! So delicious and the portion was HUGE! The bartender Chad was awesome, friendly, helpful and right on point!

Loved it here. Very cute environment. Chad and Robyn were very attentive. Loved the brunch menu options, both of our meals were very good. Had bottomless mimosas for $10.
