Diabetics at Jamba Juice:

Eating good food at the right time can control your blood sugar, also stop you from craving wrong sort of food. Jamba Juice offers drinks in three separate sizes: 16, 24, and 32-ounce. You can choose the lowest serving size and cut down on sugars and calorie intake. If you're diabetic and concerned about the sugar intake, then you can opt for the smaller 9.5-ounce smoothies available for kids at Jamba Juice.

Foods to Avoid at Jamba Juice for Diabetics:

Jamba Juice is primarily known for its highly satisfying and nutritive smoothies and juices. Almost every smoothie and juice item on the Jamba Juice menu contains sugar. Diabetics are recommended to opt for smaller serving size while ordering at Jamba Juice. Also, avoid opting for creamy treats as all the smoothies offered in this category contain a load of sugars.

Keep the sugar content below 50g per meal at Jamba Juice and ensure that you don't follow it with a heavy meal. A small size regular smoothie is equivalent to a meal for everyone. Classic smoothies at Jamba Juice are also heavily loaded with sugars. Stay away from that section if you are a diabetic.

My first time trying Jamba Juice. With the juice craze being the next best thing and Jamba Juice leading that ju-ju train I had high expectations going in. Man was I disappointed! I ordered the Apple and Greens. What I got was sour green mud with chunks of leaves. It's supposed to have apples, mango, strawberries and kale. It's not fruity nor is it tasty. Very thick, tasteless and not worth $6. Total slop. And why does it smell like fish?

Ok so it's a chain, I know, but this Jamba Juice is a great find in an airport. It will hit the spot if you have a hankering for something sweet without all the guilt. You can make any of the classic smoothies "light" to cut the calories (and risk a case of the runs later if your GI doesn't like the sorbitol). The cashier was helpful and cheerful. The whole transaction was less than 3 min from order to smoothie being made. You can also add supplements including whey protein and Kale! Kale, so hipster. Love it!

Super nice guy working the counter made my pregnant wife's day with a great smoothie. I was surprised when I started this review that they didn't get five out of five stars, I guess we just got lucky with customer service.

Not all airports have healthy(er) suggestions to choose from when traveling so I almost always stop by Jamba Juice when I am traveling especially in the morning. Their staff is always attentive and courteous and they get your smoothies out to you pretty quickly. Not interested in a smoothie? Don't worry, there are other things to choose from like breakfast wraps and PopChips (I love PopChips!!) I also love the fact that you can boosts in your smoothies for only .25 cents...need some more vitamins or protein? Boost it up!! And did I mention that their staff is nice? It's probably because they are around colorful fruits and vegetables all day and who can help but smile when they're surrounded by nutritious, tasty goodness? Oh and they now have almond milk!!! Score!

Smoothies and juice are good election my favorite place before get into the airplane in BWI. Good combination and healthy drinks

  • Kirk S.

Jamba Juice in BWI is pretty decent. It's a small kiosk located in the airport flanked by a number of other stores and restaurants. The service was fine for what it was - quick and simple. The juice itself is decent. I had a peanut butter and chocolate shake allegedly made healthy through the inclusion of oatmeal powder. The juice itself was good, but overly thick and a bit bland. I liked it, but was not exactly in love with it. Given the difficulty, I was not able to finish it all.

This was my first time getting Jamba Juice. They left a good first impression on me. Got a purple fruit smoothie that name that I forgot. It was really good. I really like how they make their smoothies without adding sugar. I also could barely eat dinner because I could not stop drinking!! I can't believe it is rated so poorly.

  • Edwin V.

Nothing under their specialty description of serving times for items. I ordered an oatmeal and was told they only serve oatmeal in the morning. No idea how dificult it is to heat up water and drop some oats in but i really dislike when a business pass up a profit for a simple accommodation. There was no one else around, you and your buddy are sitting around behind yhe counter, lets get this guy an oatmeal and take his $5. But thats just me.

Jamba Juice is generally pretty good, but this location spit out a lame smoothie. Very weak fruit flavor, like it was at least 50% ice. I don't care if it IS an airport -- for $6+ it's a total ripoff.

Good smoothie but the friendly and entertaining staff is what made this such a good experience for me!

Love finding a JJ in an airport when I'm already in a bad mood. This place has nice people and is very convenient right at the entrance to B concourse right past security. ENJOY!

    (5)
  • Tom D.

Ok - I got what I wanted though it took awhile and it wasn't as good as I remember it to be - not sure why. Maybe the service just left a bad taste in my mouth - not sure, but out of all the JJ's I've been to - this one rates pretty high up on the "I think not" list. Thankfully I know enough to add an extra shot, which can at times take away some grittiness - but even so - the price and taste at this place falls flat to the dirty floor! I will mark this one down as a place NOT to return to!

Looking for "clean" breakfast options at the airport is like trying to find a single guy under 30 who isn't afraid of commitment. So I went to the self-proclaimed all natural Jamba Juice. The "all fruit" includes a healthy portion of sweetened purée/juice and not actual pieces if fruit. The breakfast wraps are just all around pretty gross and full of artificial crud. They are regular fast-food masquerading as healthy options; I regret spending $9 here. That being said, I think some of the limitations are because it's an airport location, no ta full Jamba. The best smoothie on the menu is the Carribbean Passion. Also, the boosts don't make it gritty and weird tasting (I'm looking at you Smoothie King) which is nice.

  • Jason G.

I so enjoy having a Jamba while I'm traveling as I find their smoothies very comforting and even rejuvenating during my layover. I usually get the mango a go go and it's always delicious.

Since when did the east coast get Jamba Juice? I had been drinking Jamba Juice for years on California, but sadly I moved away and have had an unsatiated craving for Jamba Juice - until now. This place is as good as any of the Jamba Juices I've been to, and if you ask nicely, they may give you the leftover smoothie in a small cup if they make too much for your order. I plan to AirTran or Southwest just so I can hang out in this terminal. One tip - if you order one of the pre-boosted smoothies (like the Protein Berry Workout), you can still add a free boost. So you effectively end up with two boosts in your smoothie.

Wanted to grab something quick while I was at the airport and saw the Jamba Juice. Haven't had this since the last time I was out in Cali. Added some boosters and whey protein and it was pretty good.

Jamba Juice is one of things I miss most since moving to Virginia. Jamba and a bagel is how I cured so many hangovers while in college. Now they try to sell me on this thing called Tropical Smoothie. Disgraceful. There was a minor hiccup in which way the line was going (am I wrong to assume it's perpendicular to the register, as opposed to wrapping around the kiosk?). However, everyone was friendly, my order was right, and I don't even believe it was a limited menu which often occurs with airport vendors. Sweet sweet fruit blended goodness.

  • Nick W.

Growing up on the west coast, I grew to love Jamba Juice. The total lack of franchises on the east coast is still heart wrenching to me, so any chance to stop past when I fly out of BWI is a real treat. The service is right on par with all of the other spots behind security, which is to say, not the greatest, but they are relatively quick, friendly enough and still putting out a top notch product, so I can't really complain too much, I mean, at the end of the day it's still an airport kiosk location. I've come to realize that there are some places to get fresh shakes that are on par with Jamba Juice on the east coast, but that swirly cup still tugs at my heart strings all of these years (ugh, decade?!) later.

  • Jenny H.

This place is totally inefficient. You would think being in an AIRPORT that they would carefully consider and implement an efficient process to make and serve the smoothies as quickly as possible. I waited a full 15 minutes before getting my smoothie- AT AN AIRPORT. I ordered, and a full 10 minutes later, I see them putting my ingredients in a blender. They basically get 5 orders, then make them all at once, instead of making one order at a time. I finally said something when they started pouring the smoothies that were ordered AFTER me, before mine. I fly Southwest all the time so I pass by this stand, and now I will think twice before ordering again. My zone was already boarding by the time I got to my gate. Inefficient and a waste of my time for a $6 smoothie.

By far - the worst "dining" experience I've ever had at a food/beverage establishment at an airport (or Jamba Juice). Shanita - the cashier - was the rudest, most inefficient clerk I have ever dealt with.... seeming like I was inconveniencing her with a question about whether or not a fruit smoothie I was ordering had milk or dairy in it. I was completely put off by her attitude and demeanor. Juicing bars in general are known for their knowledgeable and caring staff, but this place is a joke. There was a Starbucks employee behind me in line, and the clerk proceeded to hold a conversation with her while trying to take my order at the same time. Shanita spoke about how she hated her job and wanted to get a job at Starbucks... and just acted like I was a complete nuisance to her existence. The employees desperately need training on the products they sell and on customer service. I don't often use the term "ghetto" in reviews - but I think everything about this place and about the girl who rang me up fits that description. I am a frequent traveller and visit BWI on a weekly basis, but will not be buying beverages here any longer. The only reason I would come back is just to see if this Shanita girl is still working so that I would give her the link to this review so she could see how her terrible service has been broadcast on the Internet for all potential patrons to read about. Then again, come to think about it, she probably wouldn't even care. Save your money and your sanity and avoid Jamba Juice at BWI at the A Terminal at all costs.

I wanted so badly not to belive the other reviews about this location... but alas I learned for myself... Great service from the older gentleman in the mornings...wretched service anytime he's not there! I've sent in formal complaints to Jamba Juice corporate headquarters concerning the service. While I long for JJ when I fly out of the SW terminal, I dread the service and incompetency of its employees.

  • Jez R.

This was just the worst, the WORST service I had in months. You would think that a smoothie place that had nonstop service would be thrilled, ecstatic at an issue that most smoothie/fresh juice style establishments struggle with on a regular basis. But no. The product is fine. I enjoy the menu of what Jamba Juice offers: veggies or fruit smoothies, coffee, peanut butter, etc, the standard fare of juice bar style offerings. However, let's shove that aside to make room for hideous service that takes forever, is cold as can be, unsmiling, and miserable. Which is exactly what I want to deal with after a huge line to place an order and then another considerably longer line just to receive the smoothie! From start to finish took almost twenty minutes to get my drink. Just insane. This stand is at a prime location and with another person or two (even another taking orders - waiting for the smoothie wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to wait eight minutes to just place my order.) Your product is awesome, just needs new management!

If you are a Jamba Juice fanatic then I don't really have to tell you how great it is. I have loved it ever since I got addicted in California and was sad that right after I moved from San Antonio to Maryland they built five! I was also a little surprised that there are JJ's all over from NYC down to PA, then they skipped MD and VA and popped back up in NC again. It's the DC area JJ, where are my smoothies?! So I was excited to learn that they were FINALLY putting one in near to me.....but then I found out that it was in the airport. But not only in the airport, but behind security so I couldn't even just indulge my JJ addiction whenever I felt like it. That said, I love flying Southwest now because the JJ is located by their gate. I also make people pick it up for me whenever I pick someone up from the airport. :) Everyone is complaining about the location but I have never had a problem here. I don't even care about the service as long as I get my Strawberry Surf Rider at the end.

Horrible service. Order taker could not manage to listen to my whole order while entering it into the computer (original razzmatazz, how hard is that). They got the orders for the three people in front of me wrong and as I was walking away (with the worst tasting drink I have ever gotten from Jamba Juice) I heard the woman behind me say they got hers wrong too. I do not suggest this location at all. I love the jamba juices I go to in California. So the brand is good this location however should be shut down.

So being a fan of Jamba Juice I happily walked up to order my favorite drink the carrib passion with a shot of energy to start my day. The person that took my order and money was named Ciara. She was obviously having a horrible day. She gave me my total and I handed her a gift card that I purchased at another airport location. She handed me card back and mumbled something I could not even begin to understand. I said "excuse me I cannot understand you". I was very very unfriendly and she was not having me. She said you know we do not take your gift card at airport locations. I said well I bought this at an airport she said no you did not not. I knew it was going downhill fast and did not want something put in my drink so I used my credit card to pay. She was just so rude. I could not believe I was paying to be treated so bad. Its said when you have a great product but you get 1 star over service. My advice is skip this location and get a jamba at another location where people will be kind as most locations are.

I guess when you have no competition you don't need to be good. They got my order right but they didn't blend it well so there were huge chunks of ice in it. Lovely.
