I am surprised that no one has written a review about this gem. Here before the nascent Station North neighborhood title was affixed, it stood here. Very discreet location, blending in with the surroundings. The dining room isn't commodious, nor cozy. Their bar is stocked with beer bottles (mostly Red Stripe), some soda and juices. I ordered the Curry Chicken, and I was not expecting it to weigh that much! Chicken and potatoes swimming in a hearty curry sauce, plantains, and rice and beans. Ultimate starchfest! The rice and beans were a bit mushy, but sopped the curry up nicely. my fried plantains had a sweet soft bite with a tear at the end. I wish I had more of them instead of the potatoes, whose flavor was manipulated by the sauce. They stay open late, until after midnight I believe. On weekends, I know they usually have a DJ blasting reggae, soca, dancehall, etc.

Really good. Came during artscape. Packed, but got a seat at the bar. We had the oxtail and curried goat. Gravy on the oxtail was heaven. Nice tunes, rice and peas were really good, primo vodka tings and chill bartenders. Will be back for sure.

Got some lunch from there with 2 of my workmates and the food was subpar ..... We got jerk chicken which was too spicy ... The oxtail sauce was aight ... The white rice was so mushy ... The goat meat was not so tasty ... It was a disappointment . :-(

I am new to the Baltimore area, and I had a craving for some good ole Oxtails! I looked up restaurants by my job (UB) and Carribbean Paradise came up as top choice. I walked to the store and first of all it was smelly, but clean...Odd! I ordered the oxtails with rice and peas. The food was reasonably price compared to what I pay in DC. When I got back to my office to devour the food, the rice tasted like it came out of the microwave (no taste and mushy), the oxtails were tuff and small, and the gravy had no taste. It was not a pleasant first time experience, and I was highly upset that I wasted the food and money on nasty microwaved food! Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!

Food is good. Very nice friendly owner. I always order Oxtails rice peas and plantains or BBQ jerk chicken. Jus wish the barbq sauce didn't taste so generic.

Very disappointed. We picked this place for a Bday dinner gathering. W/ only one review from 2009 I really didn't know what to expect. They had us (a group of about 12) upstairs where they keep their speakers and storage. The service was terrible. The food was subpar. Didn't taste authentic. We ordered oxtail, curry shrimp, curry chicken, stew beef.... No one was impressed. Everything was served in to go containers. We should have really went w/ my second suggestion up the street, Korean BBQ. U live and u learn. I will never return. Oh yeah, they didn't honor the restaurant.com certificate. SMH they need to contact restaurant.com and let them know.

I went here a few weeks ago with some friends when we were all feeling an itch for Jamaican food. It was a weeknight and business was slow but judging from the large bar with more types of rum than I can remember and an advertisements on the wall for an upcoming reggae party it seems like it could be a much more lively place (which I prefer). They have all the usual Caribbean fair like jerk chicken, peas n rice, plantains, etc... but they also had some stuff that I don't think most Americans are as familiar with like curry goat and ox-tail soup. I went with the jerk chicken as I had been craving it (the whole reason I wanted to go to a Jamaican place), but I want to try the more exotic stuff next time. As far as drinks go in addition to the full bar there is a fridge that you just help yourself to (at the end of the night the waiter just asked us what we had taken) full of beer and all kinds of exotic soft drinks... I stuck with Red Stripe, but my friends got some kind of carrot based juice that was really really good in addition to the standard pineapple and champagne sodas that the Caribbean is known for. Only complaint that some people might have is that the service wasn't incredible... the waiter wasn't very enthusiastic at first, but he did warm up by the end of the night. Personally (I am a waiter as well), I can forgive that... it's a stressful industry and I know I've had nights where I've probably been the same way. Oh one other thing... as I mentioned, apparently they have music/dance parties there and there is a room upstairs they use for that. The night we went we could hear someone up there fooling around on the turntables with a reggae record, which was really cool at first.... but after hearing the same 30 seconds of the same song over and over again for like 30 minutes it got a little annoying. Overall a good place tho, and I look forward to returning.
