Haven't yet actually been there, but did have their pizza delivered... so far it's about as good as we've found here - New York-y in the sense that the crust needs to be gnawed on a bit (do they ship in NY water to make the dough?). We were pretty impressed... also just glad they don't get their mushrooms out of a can. At least at the moment they do not delivery N of Northern Parkway, fyi.

I got a gyro here the other week. I didn't particularly like it. I thought they used way too much of the sauce; I could barely eat it without it dripping all over me! The meat combo (whatever they used), was pretty tasty and fresh. The fries were mushy and the wait time was un-freaking-believable. I probably won't go back to this place.

  • Becci J.

I actually liked this place; it's been there as long as I can remember, and I went there a lot as a kid, and even now when I visit Baltimore, which isn't as often as I would like:( The fries here are good, but definitely greasy. The best thing here is their pizza, or pizza fries. In case you haven't had it, pizza fries are basically an order of fries with melted cheese and sauce on top; it sounds weird, but somehow it works. I would definitely recommend this place. The people who work there are really nice too, and it's always the same man and woman working the counter.

  • Brian S.

I kind of actually really kind of like this place. It's the best cheap pizza I've found. And I mean that in the best possible way.

  • Ryan G.

Decent, pretty good NY style round pies. Definitely not bursting with flavor as the sauce, crust and cheese play very similarly to most of the standard Baltimore fare of Bland NY style pizzas. Probably slightly better than a lot of others though. Certainly better Pizza can be sought out, but not necessarily in the Hampden area.

  • Melody C.

Good pizza for a decent price!! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice traditional pizza in Hampden for a lazy night without cooking. The Italian food is all generally pretty good. Delivery and pick-up.

My friends hate this place. Me, I love it. Good greasy pizza. Good Subs. Good Gyros. Fairly typical in most respects to every other independent pizza joint, but just a little better. Good dough for the pizza, none of the bland "white bready" stuff.

  • Sarah T.

I've had a number of pizzas here and never been very impressed. Wait time is often long even on weeknights. The pizza has a nice amount of cheese but not much flavor. Overall, its a little overpriced for what it is.

  • Amy C.

I like this place because it's clean, it's convenient, the food is good, and the staff is friendly. I've yet to try their pizza, I've heard great things, but I've only had the cheese steak sub. They don't use a ton of fillers, so you get a decent portion of meat. The rolls are fresh, the veggies are crisp, and the fries are great.

Best pizza in Baltimore, hands down!

It's the simple things in life, done well, that bring us pleasure. Behold the chicken cheese steak. Sister to the less refined, fleshy, Steak-ummy late night cheese steak When prepared correctly you have all of the gooey homeyness with less of the latent caloric load. Bella-Roma serves-up a solid chicken cheesesteak. Review: Solid chicken cheesesteak. Cooked to order and delivered promptly.

If you are from New Jersey or New York and looking for a good slice of pizza, this place isn't it... Still looking for good pizza in Baltimore area Got take out by the slice and they added the toppings after reheating the pizza.. Raw vegetables??? C'mone.... This is a review on just the pizza. I'm sure the other items on the menu are fine. It's hard to make good pizza outside of NJ and NY

The husband and I decided to order from here (through GrubHub) after a hard "workout" day. This review should have been much, much higher than 3 stars, and if I were to base it on the food quality itself, it would have been an easy 4. The problem that I encountered was that I simply didn't receive what I ordered. I had ordered a cheeseburger sub with ketchup, mustard, pickles and mushrooms. That's it. Nothing else. What I actually RECEIVED was a cheesesteak sub with lettuce, mayo, pickles and mushrooms. Which was actually kind of tasty - but it's not what I had wanted nor ordered. What's the point of picking out the things you want when they're just going to send you whatever they damn well feel like sending? I don't know if it was a mistake or what, but my husband's order was correct. Either way, SOMEONE got it wrong. I contemplated calling GrubHub to complain, but after numerous bad experiences with a different delivery service after consistent screwups, I just decided to, uh, "eat" this one and let it go. But, seriously - this is not a way to win over first-time customers. If you can't even manage to make and send the proper item, what is the point of trying your establishment again? There are over 20 pizza joints just like yours (some of which are honestly closer and serve better fare), and I"m sure that one of them could at least manage to not screw up an order. Not at all impressed. As stated, the three stars are ONLY because the food, though not what I had originally wanted, wasn't bad. But I'm not likely to order here again.

All i have to say is: Good food, fast delivery, polite people. Please take my money. And I'll call you again soon

Outstanding pizza. I can't speak to the other items yet... But based on the pizza I will certainly be back for more. Usually you can't get pizza of this quality delivered.

    (4)
  • Hansel T.

Great friendly customer service and consistent edible food is the only reason I am giving them 4 stars. They have delicious birch beer on tap, and I ordered their fries with cheese and gravy one time on a lark and was surprised at the size of the order. Nice comfortable pizza shop booths that remind me of when I was a kid in New York. The pizza however is of the american style as opposed to NY style, but I have had a few slices of it time to time and it is not offensive. I have had their gyro, and it is the best available in Hampden, having tried all the other local greek/italian joints that have such an offering.

    (4)
  • Shawn B.

What was once my favorite pizza joint in Hampden, has become Hampdens worst. No doubt they make the best tasting pizza in Hampden, but be sure to pick it up. The delivery is AWFUL. My pizza took an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive on a Thursday night when they told me it would only be 45 minutes. And when it arrived, it was barely even warm. I live less than 3 blocks away. The pizza was turning hard and chewy. It was an expensive white pizza, that was just a total dud. If you plan to get a pizza from Bella Roma, be sure to pick it up. The experience will be much better. It looks like if I want delivery pizza, I have to go back to Arlons. It is good pizza. Not as good as Bella. But it always arrives quickly and HOT!

  • Bruce N.

I ordered a their meat lovers pizza, which allegedly is made of: Italian sausage, Italian salami, ground beef, pepperoni, imported ham, Canadian bacon and extra cheese. It turns out they at least one of the ingredients on this pizza is made with turkey rather than beef and/or pork as the stated list suggests. Since I am allergic to turkey, I now get to spend the evening sick. Would it be so hard for a restaurant to let us know on the menu when one of their ingredients is the turkey version rather than the original version? They have lost a customer since I can now no longer trust their menu to be what it claims to be.

The best pizza/sub joint in the baltimore city area. The pizza here is fantastic. My dad has been coming here for many many years. He got me hooked on this place this year. The pizza is great. Not once have I had a bad experience with it. Always the same, which is great. The other day I got a shrimp salad sub and that was also fantastic. No complaints whatsoever. Some people write reviews on here and just don't realize that it is human nature to make mistakes. The key is if they correct the mistake in a timely fashion than you should not have any reason to complain. I am sure everyone writing reviews on here has made mistakes before. When you process tons of orders everyday it is bound to happen. They have screwed up my pizza before by putting the wrong toppings on it, they quickly fixed the mistake by giving me another pizza for free! The key was they took responsibility for their mistake.

  • Doug F.

Have been getting pizza and steak subs here for year. Always solid food, prices have gone up a little over the years, but the quality is good. Pizza has a good thin crust. I drive to get the food most times (from Charles Village) since delivery can be spotty. Tip them well if they do a good job.

  • C F.

I'm a pizza head. This is the best pizza in the area. The cheese and sauce is really good. I haven't had anything else but that pizza from Bella roma. The area is good too not in a bad area so you will be fine with parking and walking to the location.

    (5)
  • Nick L.

Great place, love the food and people. BUT, don't get the chicken gyro. Way too much tzatziki sauce, and I am pretty sure it was not chicken. Hard to tell under all that sauce. But other than that, everything else is good and affordable.

    (4)
  • Shamika B.

I absolutely love their food! I mainly order the Super Subs (Chicken Cheesesteak). I tell ya it is the best, and you can taste the freshness of the sub. They deliver in a timely manner and I never have an issue with this business!! PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE YOUR COOK.....EVER!! :-)

  • Mimi L.

GRAVY CHEESE FRIES. Enough said. They give you a huge portion with lots of mozzarella and gravy. The fries stay nice and crisp even though it's smothered in delicious brown gravy. Gotta try!

  • Eric H.

Typical neighborhood pizza joint. Nothing fancy. Just solid pizza. Haven't eaten the other food on the menu. Delivery is pretty variable, so I usually pick up to take out. Prices are decent, quality steady. Great place to stop in for a slice, eat-in or take-out.

Very nice staff. Fast service and great pizza. Love their gravy cheese fries and chicken tenders.

Ode to Bella Roma Pizza Smell aroma Took some homa Put me in a coma Got my pizza diploma from Bella Roma/Smella Roma And while you should always take medical advice gleaned from Yelp restaurant reviews with a grain of salt, two bites of a Bella Roma cheese steak sub has been known to induce labor--just ask my wife. This place is a long time favorite. My daughter is 26 now.

  • Emily A.

I'm in Medfield and this is my go-to pizza delivery place. Compared to the others I've tried around here, Bella Roma has the freshest veggies, good proportion of topping to cheese, delicious garlicky sauce, and a crust with the right amount of chewiness, and most importantly -- NOT GREASY. I've been ordering from them for about six years and the service and quality has been consistently great. I don't feel nearly as guilty gorging myself on their pizza as I do with, say, Papa Johns' pile of grease sog, so at least I can pretend I'm eating something fairly clean. I've only ever had the pizza, so I can't say whether the sides or sandwiches are good, and I'm not comparing them to some of the super awesome pizza places in the area (like Joe Squared) because those other places don't deliver to me so it's beside the point. Note that you can pay by credit card for delivery but you'll need cash to tip the driver, because they don't allow tips on the card for whatever reason. Their delivery times can be a little longer than they might say when it's really busy, but I've never experienced anything egregious. The people who answer the phone and delivery guys are always friendly and efficient.

  • A. C.

(08/24/2012) Got a delivery to a bar nearby Bella Roma's (how awesome is that). The pizza is NY-style, crust is flat, thin, and chewy, there are lift issues; it's a folder. Toppings were plentiful; cheese was stringy and opaque with milk solids; peppers and mushrooms were fresh. The sauce was mildly spiced, but thankfully not sweet. Buffalo Wings were small, battered/breaded (like on a Chinese Pu Pu platter) and overfried (almost burnt); hot sauce came on the side, as did 2 packets of Ken's dressings (not quite what I expected) and wouldn't order again. Food was delivered within the promised timeframe (35 minutes of a 45 minute estimate). It's somewhat pricey for a pizza place, but quality seems to be worth it. Pizza is what they're known for, skip the rest.

I had a gyro here earlier today. It was delicious. My fries were good too. Very solid spot, right on Falls Road in Hampden. This place is also inexpensive. I'll totally be back!

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
