I used to like this place when it first started off but now it stinks! The food is mediocre, the servers are very unexperienced, and the prices have increased way too much. There is also this one guy in a suit (probably the owner) who isn't very nice- last time I was there with my fiance we decided it was the last time after he made a few remarks to a server when we presented with a buywithme coupon. I suggest Haiku, Baba, or Kai in worcester over this place.

I've been here 3 times so far...amazing sushi chef, creative and inspiring sushi. Hibachi is also great...loved the food. No wait. Great ambiance...perfect for a date.

arrogant owner. filed complaints with the better business bureau and the police when he refused to honor a valid groupon (with proof on two occassions). gave him a chance to apologize and issue a credit - asked me to leave. the credit card company will take care of him.

Please, please, someone do something interesting with hibachi!! It's the same everywhere I go....salad drenched with ginger dressing, clear broth soup, shrimp appetizer, chicken/beef/shrimp/scallop entree, rice & noodles. They all build their little flaming volcano onion stacks and inevitably drop a knife on the floor while trying to wow us with samuri antics. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to partake in this interactive dining experience once in a while, especially if out with a group, but it's always the same, everywhere you go. So as far as hibachi goes, Tenka gets an average "B". I went this past Friday evening with my husband and two other couples. Service was a bit slow right off the bat. I requested water twice before it came. I also ordered a spring roll appetizer, which was very good. It was a small portion, but was served piping hot. The filling seemed very fresh and of good quality and it was served with a delish sauce similiar to a duck sauce, but better. The rest of my party ordered quite a bit of sushi to start. After literally 30 minutes of waiting, the sushi never came nor did our waitress. We could see it across the restaurant sitting on top of the sushi bar. Our chef had already come to our table and cooked and served fried rice. He couldn't do anything as he was in the middle of cooking our food so one member of my party went up and told the hostess. When it finally did arrive mid-meal, it was missing a roll altogether! During this same lull, someone else in our party went up to the bar and ordered another round of drinks as our glasses had been sitting empty for quite some time. We approached the manager about removing the mandatory 18% gratutity for a party of 6 since we weren't happy with our service, but he didn't budge. So my message for this average restaurant is the same as in previous reviews...there are too many great restaurants in MA & RI to be average. You really need to do something interesting...either with your menu, your drinks, your decor or your service.

me and my family came to this restaurant last night. and we were sitting in hibachi table... i ordered some appetizers and it came late..i was so upset that the waitress wasnt paying attention on my table..as she poured the corona to my glass.. she blew up my corona...she spilled all over my table...she was so un proffesional....she shouldn,t pour it from the top...never mind... the chef was so nice...when he was about to cook for our table and since our appetizers hasn,t come...he wouldn,t bother to start cooking... we took our time...the show was nice we were so pleased with the show...he is so funny with his loud voice and yellow hat... My suggestion for this new restaurant is.they should train the waitress how to serve better and they should know how to handle the situation when it gets packed....

Really good food every time we've gone and they do Groupon deals pretty often. I would definitely recommend Tenka!

Our family went at 5:30pm on a Friday night to Tenka Asian Bistro in Westboro and it was a huge disappointment. The food is totally uninspiring and tasteless, and we will not venture here again. There were only 2 other parties - one on hibachi side and one on quieter restaurant side. We did notice for a birthday celebration, they will play the gongs and drums really loud for you while singing 'Happy Birthday'. Fun for the kids! We sat on the quiet side, so we didn't come out smelling like fried food and there were no noise distractions from the food tasting. We started out with appetizers, miso soup and salad. The gyoza was fine, although nothing special in taste. The miso soup was watered down and lukewarm, not tasting of light, fermented tofu or appetizing at all. The kids got the vegetable and shrimp tempura which was done right: lightly battered vegetables surrounded by a delicate, crispy, fried shell. However, the scallion pancakes were fried until they no longer resembled Chinese scallion pancakes but golden, flat hockey pucks which are totally tasteless and you can break your teeth with! I wanted to send those back, but my children overruled me. I am glad they still have their teeth! They were a total abomination. For dinner, I had the Caterpillar sushi dish along with a side of eel maki rolls. The avocado in the Caterpillar sushi was fine and fresh, however, the eel, rice and cucumber shreds lacked in taste and quality. Instead of a firm feel, the sushi was mushy. I've had better sushi from the grocery store! The Japanese rice vinegar must've been forgotten in the rice along with using quality, sticky sushi rice. The rice didn't have the rice vinegar taste; super disappointing! The shredded cucumbers should be firm, and stand on command in sushi. That's where you get the texture difference. They should be salted perhaps, to express their water, so they practically snap. There is no justaposition of flavors or texture in their sushi. Both eel sushi were disappointing. I can't imagine getting AYCE sushi here for $25. They charge you $2/sushi if you leave any on your plate. It would be costly sushi, 'cause their sushi is unappetizing and uninspired. My spouse got the hibachi chicken teriyaki, which tasted the freshest of all 4 dishes. I usually avoid those because it's such a standard, typical dish. The kids got the chicken teriyaki. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, minimally processed in a wok with a nice crunchy bite to the broccoli and carrots. The chicken in the teriyaki was horrible - totally dried out and hard like cardboard. It was inedible and we could swear it was cooked once, left to dry in the sun and then cooked again. We got a double sauce dish for the gyoza and the waitress who spoke minimal English could not tell me what the cream colored sauce was, nor did she bother to find out and return with an answer. The whole evening, she just dropped off dishes on the table and left fast probably hoping we didn't ask her any more out of the ordinary. The bus boy was exceedingly attentive, fillling water glasses numerous times and clearing plates. It's a good thing we got a Groupon. The sushi chef and chef needs to taste the food and see if they would eat and pay money for it. I think not. You will not get Japanese finessed food even though the name sounds Japanese - the owners are not Japanese. Be careful of some Asian fusion places, you are not getting authentically made food, but copycats to a trend.

Tenka has great sushi and they are consistent. The drinks are well made and the service is attentive. The manager is very nice to his customers, it shows that he cares about the business. I've Been to Tenka over 10x and I've ever had a bad meal.

So I have had the hibachi here a few times..I will stick to the Hibachi if I come back.. We sat at the tables and ordered off the menu and the food was not so good.. we ordered 5 different dishes and 2 sushi rolls and needless to say nothing was worth the trip here, and nothing would scream come back and eat me.. From rice to noodle to the seafood dish to even the chicken dish, all were lacking the flavor and the wow factor.. don't even bother with the sushi. lacks lots of things...took a long time for drinks, took a long time for food, took a long time for bill.. it's slow going here..

Their food has always been decent at best, but now their service is bad. I had a question with a groupon and the manager was extremely rude, saying if I had an issue to take it up with Groupon. This place was worth going to at half off, but I will never be back to pay their full price for semi-decent food. So long Tenka!

Wow never thought I would give out a 1 star review... But here it is. I've had hibachi before and usually it's fun and lively.. But this place was so dead. Came here for lunch around 1pm on a Sunday. Entered the restaurant and there wasn't even a hostess waiting there to seat us (should've left when I saw that the staff was not even ready for us when we arrived and that there were barely any customers in the restaurant). The sushi chef looked at us for a good few minutes before getting a waitress sitting in the corner to come over and seat us. If the staff knows that there is no one at the front desk, especially if the restaurant is empty, then they should be on the lookout for customers and they should come as soon as a customer enters. (NOTE TO THE MANAGER: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A HOSTESS OR SOMEONE AT THE FRONT DESK AT ALL TIMES. A CUSTOMER IS A CUSTOMER, YOUR STAFF SHOULD COME TO HELP A CUSTOMER IMMEDIATELY, ESPECIALLY IF THE HOSTESS IS NOT THERE. YOUR OTHER STAFF SHOULD BE TRAINED TO ASSIST IN THAT CASE OR BE ABLE TO FIND SOMEONE TO ASSIST.) Finally, we were seated and the waitress seemed unlively and unfriendly. And most off the staff seemed like they were too busy on their phone or just not doing anything. Honestly, I'd rather have the staff be overbearing in asking if we need anything else than just not even paying attention to the customers. We ordered hibachi - came with salad, soup, and the meal. Salad was normal. Soup was some weird mushroom and pork/chicken broth? Literally tasted like it was just broth from the box and they threw in like a scallion and a mushroom. We all ordered some kind of meat/seafood for our hibachi, and it came with noodles, rice, and veggies. Our hibachi cook tried to be enthusiastic and he probably was the nicest of the staff, but still didn't listen to any of our requests/complaints. The noodles he cooked were still kind of cold when served to us and we told him that... And yet he didn't even listen to us. He should have either 1. Made new noodles or 2. Put our noodles back and cooked them a little more. And I know hibachi food ends up tasting all the same since they use the same sauce. But when my aunt asked for the hibachi staff to put less sauce and salt on our foods, he continued to put the same amount of sauce on the food being cooked. And then he apologized for the noodles being so salty at the beginning because he says they usually cook for Caucasian people and Caucasians like their food saltier than asian people. Didn't think he needed to mention that, but he should've offered to give us sauces on the side so we could make it to how we like it or even just put a little squirt of the sauce instead of adding the same amount of sauce he was originally putting. The reason why we came to this restaurant was cause we had a 25% off coupon. I had given the coupon to our waitress. When I got the bill back, I was confused as why our coupon hadn't taken off more from our bill. I asked the waitress who just looked at me and said "I don't know, the guy over there did it" and pointed to who I assume was the manager. What waitress does that? One, rude to just point me in the direction of whoever she was pointing to, and two, she should be able to answer that question for me. NEVER EVER COMING BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT. Now that I think of it, wish I could rate this restaurant and its staff a 0. Food tasted all the same. Staff are horrible.

Still trying to find a good hibachi place nearby but this is not it. We decided to sit at a table and order Hibachi from the menu, with a $20 for $40 Groupon with the restriction to order from only the dinner menu (roughly $10 more pricier than lunch / hibachi meal), it pretty much evens out to no discount. The food is fair, less salty and greasy than most places which is a plus, but the dinner meat portion - which we were told is more than lunch, is still quite a bit smaller than we expected. And my aged NY strip was definitely definitely not medium rare as requested (it's more like medium-well done). They do also have a sushi menu and the option for sushi buffet available. The wait staff is generally lackluster and even though the venue is very nice but lacks the vibrant experience that usually associates with Hibachi.

This place is between 2 and 3 stars, we came here for hibachi. Although the food tasted great but that was where the good stuff ends. The place was empty, our chef was a trainee, he was a nice person but really didnt entertain us at all, I finally asked there professional chef to do at least some tricks for the kids so they are happy so he did that. We had a groupon and even with the groupon I feel this place was pretty expensive. The server was ok, initally she seemed to be in a bad mood but later on she seemed ok. Overall it was ok. We have been a regular at Mandarin across the street, Feng in Milbury and Minado. I believe we will probably stick to those and wont be returning. I also feel we should have been charged less even with a groupon or at least offered something as complimentary if we had to spend time with a chef under training. To sum it all up, the food tasted good. The chef had a good personality but unfortunately we paid for hibachi and that was not delivered.

Chill place with nice lighting - shrimp tempura roll was excellent, but the crab rangoon were rather blah. Strong drinks, good prices -- I'd absolutely go back! Good sushi is hard to find in the Metrowest and this made me a happy guy!

The service was very slow. We waited a half hour just to be seated. Another ten minutes too get drinks... and another 45 minutes to get the food. There was only two of us and it was not very busy. Im not sure what too think.. Wasnt my cup of tea i like Fuji steakhouse in marlboro a lot better. Much better service.

I am shocked by any bad review of this restaurant. I eat there weekly and the sushi rivals most of the restaurants in Boston without the crazy price tags. Seriously, the owner and his wife are awesome and I can't imagine anyone being ignored. Also, I have never had to wait for food. I can't speak for the Hibachi, but the sushi is great!!

My hubby and I go here on our date nights and get the all you can eat sushi. We have never been disappointed with the food or the quality of the service. Granted, if you're looking for a quick in and out place to grab food, this isn't the place for you. Their sushi is fresh and yummy. I dream about their dragon rolls lol. Took the kids with us for hibachi and had a wonderful time. Good show and the food was fresh and good. We had to wait for another table to finish, so we were brought out complementary chicken fingers for the kids, which was a nice touch. The tempura is the best around (and I'm a fan, so I've tried lots of local places). I don't find it any more expensive than some of the other asian places out there. Portions are large in my opinion - we always have plenty to take home. Not sure what the negative reviews are all about. No, it's not a fast food joint so you're going to be there a while. Take that into account, sit back and relax. We LOVE Tenka and will continue to be loyal customers.

Ok. I've gone here twice and wanted to write about our poor experience both times. Time #1 everything seemed to be going good until we tried to pay with a credit card. The waiter said there would be a 50 cent additional charge to pay with a credit card. When we asked why and poked for a specific reason it ended with the manager yelling at us for asking why. 50 cents is not a big deal but it's the principal of the thing. We decided to pay with cash. Is this even legal? Even though that happened the food was ok and we decided to go back the next week. Well this time the food was not good. First of all the food came out about 10 minutes apart. So by the time the fourth person got their food the first person was done. One person we were with got the spicy tuna sushi and it was incredibly not fresh with very little tuna steak. It was loaded with shredded tuna. Worse than supermarket sushi. Our friend sent it back to say hey this tastes bad, it's not fresh and I don't want this. So the manager comes out and says "so is something wrong with this?". We expressed our concerns and he got angry and said "no. You are wrong. It's perfect". Our friend said "no it's not. And how can you tell me what tastes good?" The manager said tough and charged us for the meal anyway. Also about an hour after the meal 2 out of the 4 of us were stricken with bad stomach pain. Thanks but no thanks. Never again

This is the junk restaurant that I ever been. Ordered a chicken hibachi. The chicken pieces were having frozen ice still exists on the chicken. When we asked the manager to come and see, he acted so rude, and we had to leave the restaurant. He even man handled while we were leaving. When we told him that we are calling police, he held my hands saying apology. I do not recommend to visit such hostile environment to spoil the day.

Worst hibachi Iv ever had. Sushi was mushy and did not hold together and tasted cheap. Order two chicken meals at the hibachi table with my gf and it was uneatable for both of us and I'm 220 pounds so that was rarity. Waitress asked is how was it and if we want anything wrapped we told her our disappointment and she said sorry to hear about it and charged us for the full meal and charged per soda (awful tasting btw)! The fact that they charge for the rice and is overpriced on top with so low food quality baffled me. I should have known that being the only customers in the entire restaurant on a Friday night was a bad sign. In short.. Do not go here!!! I recommend Kyotos in worcester, as it does get busy and service can lack but the food portion and taste can't be beat.

I'm a local and this is my place to go for chinese/sushi/hibachi. My boyfriend is very particular about his food and we both love this place - the food is always fresh. Best food around, hands down.

I absolutely do NOT recommend this restaurant. The owner/manager acts as a "one man band"and seems he insists on doing EVERYTHING himself, which in turn means a LONG wait for any type of service in the bar area, for seating, and for drinks. The food and drinks are VERY overpriced and most of the dishes don't even come with rice, which is usually standard at any other Asian restaurant. So, you are paying about $13 for the protein, and then have to pay extra to get the rice. I have been there more than once, as it was out of convenience on my way home, and each time I leave disappointed. During one of my visits, the bartender that WAS on was chewed out so badly by the manager/owner in FRONT of customers that there was a screaming fight and the bartender walked out. Dinner AND a show? Save your money, spend it somewhere else.

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!!! Constantly changing of the menu , none of the waiters speak English. The owner clearly does not know how to run a business. Went in for a special they had advertised and the owner was not in the mood to honor it and let our party leave. Place is a joke

  • Marek T.

I am still a big fan of this place. It is really shocking to me how empty it is around lunch time. The $16 lunch sushi buffet is basically the cost of one of the special rolls, and you can get all the hand maki and some of the special rolls. Although I don't really eat buffet anymore, I could never control myself and always ended up over eating like a big fatty. There's also a pretty sweet bar menu. A list of apps/drinks for 5 bucks. I've had everything on there at one time or another and they're all really good. The spare ribs are probably the best I've had anywhere in Massachusetts. I tried the big martini for the first time and it was great! It was a cosmo and it was just a light pink; mostly booze. As a proper martini should be, not just a mixed drink in a fancy glass. The owner has always been pleasant to me, and I can not say enough good things about this place.

I've been to Tenka twice and I've had two very different experiences. The first time was great - my boyfriend and I had to wait a little while for a hibachi table to open up and the manager was nice enough to send us over a free appetizer while we waited (always a plus!). Once we were seated we had a nice time (good scorpion bowls!) and the cook squirted sake in our mouths. The second time we came was completely different - I ordered a spicy tuna roll as an appetizer and it was so gross that I only ate one piece - just a ball of mush with no spicy flavor or crunch (and yes I like sushi & eat it a lot). When I told the waiter he just took the plate away, no apologies or anything. Then the cook gave another patron my boyfriend's steak and when he realized what he did he had to go get another piece and we had to wait for him to re-cook the steak which he tried to give to my boyfriend quickly when it was still med-rare (he ordered it med-well). Overall, I might have to come back one more time because the hibachi is really good as were the drinks and other appetizers that we had - I won't be getting sushi here again though!

No, No, No, No, No. I had sushi and it was not good at all. The sushi I get at Price Chopper (that's made there while you wait) is actually much better, and I consider that decent (but certainly not great, but for a supermarket...) And to add to it, my dinner guest was only having sushi for the second time in his life and thought it was bad too. That says a lot. There are many other much better choices in Westborough (Sachi!) and that also has a much, much better atmosphere.

Although the sushi is delicious, no free refills on soda! We got the bill and $16 for soda. The manager wasn't helpful at all. We never would have ordered refills had we known. We won't be going back.

Meh. This place is really not that great for what you pay. I've been a few times because they seem to always have a groupon or restaurant.com coupon so you get a good deal. If you have to pay full price, you leave wishing you'd spend that money somewhere else. First of all, the all you can eat sushi is a rip-off. It's $30 a person and they do everything they can to make sure you do NOT get close to $30 worth of sushi from them. I've had them neglect us after our first plate for so long that we just left before ordering more. Most of the time, they just give you a gigantic rice ball with a teeny tiny piece of sushi on it so that you get full on rice. The hibachi was only OK. My in-laws LOVE hibachi so we found a place to take them when they visited from Jacksonville, FL. They love their favorite place there because of the fun chefs. Our chef at Tenka was booooooooring. And the other chefs didn't seem to be having much fun with their customers either. The only highlight was that we were seated with some really nice people and we had a great conversation with them. That has nothing to do with the restaurant though. The hibachi was also overpriced considering the food was only mediocre. If you are looking for a great hibachi and all you can eat sushi place, I recommend making the drive to Sakura Tokyo in Worcester. They do not skimp out on the all-you-can-eat sushi and it's only $24 and on Thursdays AYCE sushi includes free buffet. I think Sundays, too. Not sure.

I had never been and saw that they were on restaurant.com so I picked up a $25.00 certificate for Hibachi. When we arrived there were three hibachi stations with people at them already. We told the host we wanted Hibachi and he responded that it could be a while and did we want to sit at the bar or come back. I asked why it would be a while since there are 6 stations and he indicated that they had only a single cook working. We decided to sit at the table and wait. The first thing I noticed was that the table was sticky and clearly had not been well cleaned. Before I could say anything the host asked us if we would move to a different table large enough to accommodate us and another group that just arrived and also wanted hibachi. We watched as the chef cooked the meals of the other two tables and the staff seemed to be running around frantically trying to keep up. It appears that they need to work on their staffing levels. After what seemed like forever our turn came. I ordered the Filet Mignon and Shrimp. The cook was very skilled at both cooking and entertaining us while he cooked. He did the usual onion volcano and really put on a show with the knives. The meal its self was great the fried rice was light and tasty and the filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were tender and fresh and the noodles were tasty but I could have gone without them. It was a lot of food and I definitely found that I overate. We did discover however that those that ordered the white rice instead of the fried rice never received their rice. Again I attribute this to the poor staffing levels. When the bill came everything matched up but they charged me for 2 soda's instead of 1. I thought that was a bit tacky to charge for a refill given the long wait because of their staffing snafu. Would I return? Yes but I wouldn't rush back.

If there was a Panda Express next door this place would be out of business. Way overpriced. And I don't say that without reason. It's $21 for a basic entree (non teppanyaki) and fried rice. You read that right. It's mall food court/carry-out caliber food...honestly I don't think that's bad, but just so you know what you're getting that's what to picture. I like mall quality Chinese, but not $21 per person for that quality. They charge for soda refills and don't bother mentioning that until the bill at the end. I guess stick with the water, a $12 surprise bill for soda at the end isn't pleasant. There isn't much atmosphere, it's kind of a modern motif with no background music. Eggrolls were meh. Sweet and sour chicken was uber dry. The sweet and sour sauce was more that super pale orange-yellowish kind than the good orange/red kind. Service was kind of slow, too, but not intolerably slow. Besides the shocker at prices and that they CHARGE FOR SODA REFILLS WITHOUT TELLING YOU, it wans't bad per-se. Just more like...I guess when you think about it, why would you go to this place? For $9 you can get identical food delivered to your door. For $21 + $2 drink + $2 refills + tax/tip you can eat here. It's not surprising why this place was empty and dreary.

I am so furious, I am writing this review on my cellphone from the table whilst waiting for the over priced bill which make take another half hour to process!! Absolutely awful!!!! AVOID this place!! We decided to try a new spot for "all you can eat sushi". Worst service we have experienced in a long time! Almost an hour to receive our food and the order was wrong! We received too many salmon nigiri which were PILED with rice. We asked the waiter whether it would be ok to eat the fish off the extra nigiri in order not to waste. He agreed and walked away. When the owner/manager came over to retrieve the plate 10 minutes later she informed us we HAD to eat the rice or they would need to charge us more, "since this is a buffet". What a joke!!! We argued and informed her that we had asked the waiter. She essentially told us that was not true and that we should have left the fish too and sent it back if we were not going to eat the rice... WHAT??? Somehow the chef's mistake became our problem. Bad taste in our mouths! Needless to say we are NEVER coming back here!! There are FAR better places out there, with good friendly customer service without having to lower oneself to the rude service of this overpriced establishment!

Sushi is always fresh, creative and delicious. My husband always gets the all you can eat Sushi and never was given a problem. He orders all the "expensive ones" and if he would've had to pay for them separately it would go over $14. So its a good buy for him and he eats it all, so he won't pay the additional fee per piece($2). Chinese and Japanese cuisine is a little pricey. But delicious! Owner is normally there and usually is tending to all parts of the restaurant. Looks stressed. Servers are usually MIA but, before service I have learned to tell them to check up on me often. I have noticed for the hibachi rice that they are a little cheap with the portion...ITS RICE for gods sake! You make a lot of money on rice..... I like this place and have been here over 6 times. I do recommend them but hope the owner tweeks some of these kinks

I've eaten here at least 15 times in the past 12 months and I've never been disappointed. I have been to a dozen or so places to have sushi on the east coast from NYC to Maine and Tenka has been the best experience by far. Their staff is friendly and the owner is always there and always has to time to talk and say hi. What's the right amount of attention from staff? I see people complain about staff coming over too often or not enough, so what, just be an adult and ask if you want something. The buffet is a great deal if you are in the mood to eat a ton of sushi. Is there a wait to get the sushi? Yes there can be but that's because it's all made fresh and not prepared like it is at some places, would I say it's longer than eating at another restaurant? Not at all. If you know what you want to order from the all you can eat menu then order that much. If you're going to order 1 roll at a time like some of these other reviews made it sound like then yes it will take a while to get your money's worth. My friend and I typically order 3-4 specialty rolls and then 2-3 orders of nigiri sushi (2 pieces per order) for our first round and it comes very quickly. I've posted pictured of the nigiri sushi we got and as you can see there is way more fish than you would get at any other Sushi restaurant for the same price or more. Their fish is always fresh, and their rice is amazing with a slight nice hint of the rice vinegar. The all you can eat menu is made to order, so if you order more than you can eat expect to pay for what you don't eat. If you don't understand the menu then ask, don't order more than you can eat then only eat the parts you want then leave the rest. I've seen on more than 1 occasion customers order thinking they are ordering individual pieces but don't realize a roll is 6 pieces, a specialty roll is usually 8 pieces, and sashimi and nigiri sushi is usually 2 pieces. So if you order incorrectly don't blame it on the establishment if you don't ask. I usually just order off the menu now (even if the buffet would have been a better deal) because you get more of a variety than the buffet menu (it's not the complete menu), and this way it's easier to stop eating. Tenka also has great chinese food, I've only tried it on two different occasions because I love their sushi menu so much. We got their chinese pork appetizer and there way far more on the plate for the price than we expected and we got one of their noodle dishes that was just great. I really can't say enough good things about this place.

My family and I came tonight with a Groupon coupon. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone -- especially given how many other restaurants there are in this area. Service - 1/5. We waited for drinks, we waited to order; once the food came, we never saw our waitress until it was time to clean up. No second round of drinks for anyone. To add insult to injury, the pad thai we got was void of flavor. I asked to have it removed from the bill since it wasn't edible and she said the best they could do was 1/2 off since I didn't tell them right away -- which I would have done if she once stopped by to check on us. This by itself was enough to knock off two stars from my review. Food - 3/5. I know steak at hibachi is hit or miss but I found it hysterical that we got three steaks all ordered differently: medium rare, medium & medium well. The medium and well went on and came off the grill at same time. :-) The rare steak was the last one off. It was cooked a little more than I wanted but I still thought it was okay. Shrimp and scallops were good; fried rice was pretty mundane. Pad Thai was awful. I have asked for something to be taken off the bill 3 times in my life; this was unfortunately one of those times. Entertainment - 2/5. WE go to Samba a lot and Tepanyaki in Franklin and both put on a much better show. This was really like watching someone cook in front of you, with all the theatrics you'd expect from a normal person - granted a normal person who likes fire volcanos made out of onion.

The hibachi grill was high quality and a great amount of food. The beef, calamari and shrimp were all tasty and well seasoned. The show was average but the food was a tad bit better that the others in the area.

Some of the best sushi in the area! Always fresh and melt in your mouth good. The staff is friendly, but not very attentive. You basically have to flag them down for your first drink and any additional drinks, even when it's not busy. We'll keep going back because of the quality and freshness of the sushi. We just know to either order 2 drinks at the outset or that we'll have to flag someone down.

This place is horrible!!!!! The hibachi cook we had was rude. My mother in law is a vegetarian so we requested her food to be cooked first before any eggs or meat. The guy didn't care and made the fried rice with egg on there first. I don't eat beef and wanted my chicken to be cooked before the beef but he mixed it all up. He spoke to us very rudely, wasn't friendly at all and didn't give a shit about anything at all. By far one of the worst hibachi experiences any of us ever had. NEVER coming back here. Food didn't taste all that either. IF you want a good Hibachi experience DO NOT go here.

Went in for take out. Gorgeous place, loved the atmosphere even though there were about 6 patrons in the place at 9pm on a Monday. Got a Sushi dinner for two (Tenka Platter B for two) and an order of yellowtail. As the gentleman was handing me my food, he said there was a california roll also in there, for free. I thanked him and left. When I got home, my husband and I split the sushi. It was wonderful! Nice and fresh, even after driving with it for 20 minutes! The platter comes with soup or salad. I ordered salad for both of us. It was packaged in a plastic soup container and it felt like there could have been more green. There was very little salad in the bowl, but the ginger dressing was very good! The chopsticks, soy sauce packets, forks, and even fortune cookies were in a separate plastic bag inside the bag so we weren't fishing for these items. They even included 4 little plastic cups to put our soy sauce in! I definitely will be going back. And since I am in Westborough on Monday nights, I may just be stopping there more often.

Great sushi! Great asian appetizers! Great pad thai! I've been here so much they know my face. I honestly would rather go here than Mandarin (too expensive) and Cheng Du (food is a gamble). The service is great, very friendly and fast. The sushi is the best in the area, in my opinion. We havent had the hibachi so i cant review on that part. Every thing we've tried on the menu has been great.

We went with a coupon and weren't expecting much. We were very pleasantly surprised! The food was OUTSTANDING! We ordered a lot of food and most everything I tried was great. The miso soup was slightly disappointing but the tempura appetizer was the best I've had. Will definitely return.

  • Frank C.

The service was quite good and the chef put on a great show at the hibachi table, but the food was only OK. I had the calamari, and my wife had the beef. Both were fairly bland. I prefer both Cheng Du and Sapporo in Westborough for Asian cuisine, but Tenka's fine for a change of pace.

When you walk in, the first thing you see is the hibachi tables in a bright, noisy environment . . . not the antidote to de-stressing. We chose to dine on the ala carte side of the restaurant. Perhaps it is the slate floors, but the environment just doesn't seem warm and inviting. My friend had to wait a long time for her warm sake. The miso soup was good. My shrimp and broccoli entree called to mind something I would get from a double or triple order of Lean Cuisine, although my friend said her Angel Sushi was ok. There are definitely more lovely environments to turn to, with far better menu options in the teppenyaki/hibachi/sushi category. Must say, our waiter who was new, was very kind and attentive. No plans to return any time soon.

I came on a weeknight for sushi and hibachi. For sushi, I ordered a spicy tuna roll and a spicy crab salad roll - nothing fancy! Both rolls were very good and of a nice size. The fish and crab tasted fresh and and spicy sauce was nice, but not overpowering. For hibachi I ordered a shrimp entree with white rice. The sides were nice (veggies and noodles), but I thought the portion size of shrimp was on the skimpy side and also found the shrimp to be a bit overcooked. One major thing to note is that the waitress asked us all if we would like fried or white rice and all but one person asked for white rice. However, the only person to actually get their rice was the one who ordered fried rice. I was full after my meal, but still wish I had gotten my rice. I would return here, but would probably only come in for sushi.

Nothing special about this place in regards to sushi. At one point, the sushi was great here. Now, not so much. I ordered the Magical Roll and the Snow Mountain Roll, both failed to excite my taste buds. The crab rangoons (I know this has nothing to do with sushi, but i had a craving) were greasy to a point of me not being able to taste anything other than the oil they were fried in. The wonton soup was ok. Overall - I doubt I will go there for sushi again, but will probably give Hibachi a try.

This place is awesome. I work in Westborough, and hit it after work last week. The sushi was delicious, and they had a special on Mai Thai's. Two thumbs up. Looks like they're working on expanding their bar as well.

I've been here a few times with my girlfriend and we've always had a good experience. This place has the best shrimp fried rice and Mai tais in the area. i would recommend this place for the quality food at a good price.

Tenka is a great place to visit with a group and get entertained by the hibachi style cooking on the grill right in front of you. The sushi there is to die for and it's not over priced by any means. The portions are kind of large for one person so i would recommend sharing. It's kind of hard to get to on route 9 but it's worth it!

Nothing short of Horrible! The sushi was disgusting. But here is the best part. When you order sushi from the buffet, any piece that you don't eat is $2 above the buffet price. Are you kidding me? If I am paying 24 dollars for a buffet, I want to be able to try different things that I have never had before. Now I have to worry about these guys charging me $2 for each piece that I did not like. Put that on top of the sushi not being very good and this is a place to skip. If you want a sushi buffet, make the trip to Natick to Menados.

I've wanted to try this place for a while. I saw a Groupon for it ($10 for $20 food) so I was time. Got there about 1:45 Saturday afternoon. 3 couples in the place. We were greeted right away and asked (what I later learned to be), Hibachi or (unintelligible)? For the sake of brevity, we ordered the broiled eel lunch box and the teriyaki salmon lunch box. While we were waiting, my dining partner noticed that the floor was filthy, including bits of food on it. Strike 1. The food was OK, nothing special. Miso soup was good, but the bowls it was served in were cold, so it cooled off quickly. Strike 2. Teriyaki sauce was weak- like it had been watered down. Menu shows 6 pieces of California roll with the boxes, we each received 3. The potstickers were probably the best thing on the plate. The waiter came to take the plates and I tried handing him the Groupon. I was told that it was not good for lunch, only dinner. I told him I had checked to be sure it was good, and said it was good for dining. There was no restriction on time. He said "the manager told me." I told him there were no restrictions on time, so he took it and said he'd ask the manager. Strike 3. After he waited and waited to talk to the manager (the manager was busy doing nothing), we received the bill with the $20 removed. I plunked down my card, even though the balance was only $4.50 (force of habit). When the waiter came to take the check, he told me that they charge a fee if the charge amount is under $10. Strike 4. I let him know that MC and Visa do not allow this, and he told me that the manager told him this. We wanted to get going, so I gave him cash. I should have let the manager charge me the fee then called my card to complain, have it charged back to them, and have MC contact him about it. I did speak briefly to Mr. Manager on the way out, and he said they always do it. ATM charges you a fee. I said that was a totally different situation. Mrs. Manager piped up to show me that it was printed right on the menu. I let her know that just because it's printed there doesn't mean it's right. No, Tenka will not see either of us again. The ONLY reason they got a 2nd star was because the misinformed waiter was good and not overly attentive nor absent. It's not his fault his boss is an idiot.

Great food. Had a great time with the family. Kids were entertained by the cooks who were very friendly. Little pricey though. Didn't need to charge for soda refills on a $100 meal. I would go back though.

I like this place for the sushi. I haven't eaten on the grill side yet but it looks like fun and it smells great. Plenty of parking and a full liquor license. The sushi has always been fresh and generous portions.

We were in the area so we quickly pulled up the Groupon app on our phone and purchased a Groupon for that same evening. First off, the atmosphere is relaxed and the space is clean. We were greeted by the hostess after she finished texting someone of more importance. Hmmm...whatever. The service started out good...our server was friendly and attentive until the food came out wrong. When we questioned him, he simply shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Negatives: They charge for hot tea, they charge for rice with dishes (I grew up in LA and I'm used to complimentary hot tea and rice with dishes...how else would you eat your food??). Positives: the food is tasty, must try their homemade dumplings (delish!) for $5.95 I ordered the sushi...was very good and the presentation was nice. Sig other ordered off the Chinese menu, he enjoyed his dish except that his $3 side of rice was on the dry side. Serving sizes are not overwhelming but they are ample. The bill was on the high side considering it was just the two of us, we're glad that we had the Groupon otherwise we might not have been quite as pleased with our dining experience. The manager/owner is friendly and nice, however we were only making small talk about the town and surrounding restaurants.

We went in with a groupon (seems to be a trend on here) with a group of 10. Our waitress was very nice and took our orders. We had a child with a shellfish allergy with us so we told the waitress to have the chef cook the shrimp last and she said that was fine. It took a long time to bring out our sushi, but our chef came out pretty quickly. He had a VERY thick accent so we had to have him repeat our orders multiple times. He way overcooked our steaks. Then he put the shrimp on the grill with the noodles which were going to everyone, using the same utensils. He didn't understand us when we said that was a problem. Our waitress came over to help us and he said he would use new utensils now. Neither really understood when we said the noodles were already contaminated by the shellfish. We asked that they make more noodles in the back, a request which confused everyone. The waitress went over to another chef at another hibachi and had him make some noodles for us. A nice effort to fix their mistake, but left us all very nervous. The child didn't eat them. Overall, I would not recommend this place and will not be going back. I gave 2 stars because our waitress was nice. Although never brought us more water and automatically added the tip to the bill.

I love this place. I always have a great meal at a good price. The sushi is amazing. I also enjoyed the steak dinner. You can order off the menu for a standard Asian meal if you don't like the cook on the table in front you meal options. I have never had a bad meal here. I first went because I bought a groupon deal and was hooked instantly. Check them out.

I had a very mixed experience, the food was great but the service was so bad I don't think I will ever go back. If the prices were lower I might be able to deal with the bad service but the prices are high! We went at dinner time and the staff was there but they were just not good. I don't do the "all you can eat" thing so I ordered a couple of appetizers and they were really great. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also nice, very clean. Too bad about the service.

My friend really wanted to try this restaurant. She sees on her way home and was excited to try it out. Finally, we gave it a go. The majority of this review will seem good and you will think that "one star" seems odd or mis-leading, but it's all about integrity and respect. I am an honest reviewer, and like to point out what was good, as well as what I did not like. The food: We ordered the Gyoza as an appetizer and it was very good. You get 8 in the portion for $5.95, which is 3 more than most places, while they are a bit smaller, but still good for sharing. The pasta is thin and they are crispy on the outside. Quite good. My friends ordered sushi and I ordered the chicken teriyaki, which came with a miso soup or salad on the menu. I asked if I could sub the wonton soup for the miso and she said they cannot do that .. (they are the same price). I got over that, though. The portion of the chicken teriyaki was actually quite large. The chicken was OK, the flavor was good, but the chicken was a bit dry. The drinks: My friends ordered martinis, asking for grey goose. The waitress did not inform them it was quite a bit more and there was no indication on the menu of a cost differential. I am not a drinker, and I realize grey goose is a good brand, but there was no courteous mention of the price difference. The service: The waitress was not helpful. She came intermittently. When we flagged someone down to get myself more ginger soy sauce and my friend more ginger, we found a busboy and a confused server, who did not stop to listen and mis-understood, not bringing the ginger. We did ask for it again and they brought it. The water was only filled when we could flag someone down. My diet coke was never offered to be refilled. My friend ordered a second martini, keep in mind, still thinking it was a lot less in price. It took the waitress over 10 minutes to get said martini and the place was not busy. By the time she received it, she no longer wanted it. So, overall, suffice it to say, not great service. The rub: I am a minimum 20% tipper. It's who I am, it's how I roll. Well, based on our dis-satisfaction, I decided to go 15%. We all had separate checks and my friends, upset about the martini situation, as well as the uninvolved slow service, tipped how they deemed appropriate, one @ 15%, the other a little less. The tip, overall, came to 13%. You may not like it, but in my opinion, we were being kind. The mistake: After we paid the bill, a different server, trying to "help" the waitress, came and asked how everything was. We said it was "just OK". The server then went to educate us on the fact that a tip starts at 15% and then, based on service, can go up at different rates. When we explained that the service did not warrant even 15%, he said, "well, how was the food?" ... well, that does not matter, as we pay the menu stated price for the food. It is the service we tip on. Needless to say, we will not go back there. It was insulting and rude to question a table on why they tipped lower that expected. I felt like I was in an episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm". Too bad, too, but it is a cute place with acceptable food.

When I first went to Tenka (it was brand new), I wrote it up in Trip Advisor, but forgot to Yelp... (GASP! HOW DARE I). It was then I met a VERY talented sushi chef named Benny... And we went back, and it still rocked... And we went back, but no Benny... And we went back, and no Benny, but it was still good... And we went back for more sushi, and it was ok... And we went back on Saturday May 30 - and the diet coke tasted like dish water and it was flat... and we sent it back 3 times... And the water tasted like dish water... and service was, uh, um... uh... eh. And the tepanaki was full and the dining room empty and service was still slow. And my sushi was... rice deprived and a bit sloppy. It was, ok... eh - I could've saved some dough and gone to the Natick Collection, and had it in the food court. It seems like Tenka is heading towards the fate of the other establishments there. It started out shining, and it is starting to fade. I should've headed home and went to Feng... Much better service and sushi... Rats, I should've had some sake instead of the diet coke... Its pricey too... Its too bad, because their sushi was excellent last year when they opened. I know now, I'm not going back. With all the other sushi options in the area, its simply not worth it to me to deal with route 9 traffic, bad soda and not so good service...

I didn't love the sushi here which is a shame, because the prices are great, but as the saying goes, don't buy sushi that's on sale. Got a platter with the chefs choices on it, which is something I really dig. However the rice was cooked poorly and kept falling apart making it very difficult to eat. Also, for my personal taste the fish was too big to eat in a single bit which made the sashimi and and nigiri almost impossible to eat without cutting it in two. Other than the rice falling apart, the rolls were pretty tasty. The service was just OK, the waitress, while very polite, spoke so softly I could barely hear her. Also, she pretty much dumped the platter on the table and split. No assistance on what was there. Lastly, and this is just a matter of taste; the volcano of the scorpion bowl had tequila in it and not rum. While I enjoy tequila when you're expecting rum, it will take you quite off guard. I will go back but next time it will be for the hibachi

Hibachi fail. The only good part about this place is that they let you get so drunk that you forget what you just tasted. I'll just make a car payment next time I want to spend so much money just to feel bad.

To be honest, I never get anything here except for the All You can eat Sushi for $28. The Sushi is fresh, and I sit at the Sushi bar, and get great service. You fill out the piece of paper with what you want, and the serve it to you. If you over order, they charge you per piece, so order less and less each round. I sushi very much, and this place delivers for less than what I would pay anywhere else for the quantity of sushi I eat.

My friends and I like going to other of the other hibachi/sushi places in the area and decided to branch out and try someplace new on New Year's Eve. The decor is modern, and there's a large bar with small tables discreetly placed off to the left side of the restaurant with the rest of the space dedicated to hibachi. The place was packed, but we were promptly seated and waited a few minutes for our waitress to take our drink order. She quickly brought water, but it was 10+ minutes before she took the rest of our order. After that, we waited nearly 50 minutes for the hibachi chef (we didn't order appetizers). The food was quite good- the entree came with lo mein noodles and either white or fried rice and the vegetables were super fresh and well cooked. The chef was very entertaining and knowledgeable. All in all, we were there for 1 hour and 45 minutes and ordered an entree and a drink each. While the food was really good, I probably won't be back- it's great to have a relaxing meal, but the wait for main course was ridiculous. I've heard that when it's not a busy night (holidays, weekends) the wait is practically nil, so if you want to try Tenka, I'd go during the week.

Went here for a Sunday night dinner and, as we were in the mood for sushi, sat on the regular dining side of the restaurant. I had a spicy tuna roll, california roll, and shrimp/avocado roll, which were all fine (not the best sushi I've ever had, but certainly not the worst). My fellow diners enjoyed their sushi as well. The biggest downfall of our meal was the service. The waitress seemed very inexperienced and didn't seem to know the menu very well at all. My husband ordered a sushi dinner that was supposed to come with soup or salad, which we almost didn't get because she was unaware. Our other dining partner didn't get the correct sushi and the language barrier was so impossible that the manager ended up coming over to rectify the situation. We might come back here for some take-out sushi if they keep sending the coupons! :-)

I'm going to start by saying I haven't had any food here other than sushi. I came here with my mom last week and I really liked the decor and the setup of the place. It is a significant improvement from the Canyon. When I opened my menu, my jaw dropped. City prices in a Westboro restaurant?! No freaking way. But I held my breath and ordered anyway. I have to say, I have only had tastier (or maybe just as tasty) sushi in NYC. The fish was amazingly fresh and the sushi chefs really know their stuff. And the wasabi was actually strong enough to give me a gnarly sinus burn. Yay! I was actually so happy with my sushi that I didn't even realize how crappy the service was. Our waitress forgot to bring waters as well as our soup & salad that was supposed to come with our sushi meal. And the owner/manager(?) was really in your face and REALLY nice. And kinda creepy. I will be back!

The service was downright awful, our waitress continually looked over, but never came over even when we tried to call her over. We went because we had a groupon and won't be returning ever! It was extremely rude that our waitress almost refused to take our check when we pulled out the groupon and made us wait over 10 minutes until finally ANOTHER waiter came over and took our check. The food was beautifully presented, but not the best quality. We will not be returning!

Went last night for the first time, pretty solid overall, worth going to if you want sushi or some Chinese dishes, but wouldn't drive out of my way to go here. We sat in the regular area, not the hibachi area, ended up each getting one of those rum fruity drinks, pretty large and good. Price was good, only $6 or so, not too bad. We started with the steamed homemade veg & pork dumplings that were very tasty and did seemed homemade. We split a 15 piece sashimi and while it wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, it was really good and good size pieces! We also got the szechwan shredded crispy beef that had a good amount of veggies in it as well. The sauce was very flavorful and would get it again. They also have an all you can eat sushi option for $25 that could be great to get as the choices look good, between regular rolls, special rolls, sushi AND sashimi!

Just ate here last night (03/01) for the first time. We chose sushi over the other offerings including the hibachi grill. So. Loved the Sushi. The have very well made exotic drinks with generous alcohol. The atmosphere is nice - we happened to be the only ones there last night. More people should check this place out. Little above average on price for the particular area but worth it. I saw the notes about the bad service. I guess we were lucky and got a young man named Zach who was very nice and also knowledgeable about both the offerings and Asian food in general.

This place was great. I'm a huge fan of hibachi/teppenyaki, and this place ranks highly. Chef Orient in Framingham still sets the bar, but this place isn't far behind (and its new, so it will just keep getting better). The only reason I docked a star was the service. Obviously a new restaurant, so they are still learning, but the waitress seemed very out of it. Repeated our orders back to use four or five times each, and had to have us point out the drinks we wanted from the menu. Didn't get anything wrong though, so that's a plus. Not sure if this will keep up, but they have "sake" in a squirt bottle (tasted watered down) that the squirted into people's mouths from a distance. Was a lot of fun, but the adults seemed weird about it (but then jumped in later). Sushi bar looked awesome, and look forward to going back to try that out at a later date. (Groupon, please!)

Decided to try Tenka. Not into Sushi or Hibachi, but their regular menu looked interesting. We ordered Chicken Hot & Sour Soup and Miso Soup, both tasted fine but were sparse with ingredients. Too much broth, I prefer a heartier soup! We also ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Vegetable & Tofu Teriyaki and Wok Basil with Chicken. Nothing was outstanding. Service was lacking, poor communication - Bathrooms were not tidy even though there were only a few patrons in the place. They are new - so I'll give them more time.

This place was pretty good. We brought our almost 3 year old for for the experience! Pricing was average. It was a bit loud inside. There are no carpets in the hibachi area so sound bounces all over the place. Overall the food was good, but chicken was slightly thick cut, and did not hold much sesame taste. The show (teppanyaki) was ok at best, but my young child was immersed and loved it. In Boston you would see a lot more flash, but for Westboro it was good. I would not be opposed to returning, but would not rush there either. EDIT: The best in the area (but a little drive) is Samba in Framingham. Much more flavor in their food and a far superior show to this place. In fact if I were the owners, I would go undercover a Samba and steal some of the act from them. Samba even has 'kids eat free' on Sundays even on Father's day, which is what we did for lunch - $16.95 Hibachi, with 3 kids eating free on Fathers Day! Beat that.

Three of us did the all-you-can-eat sushi last night for $28.95. We were a bit nervous from all the bad reviews but we thought the sushi was really good at this place. Some of the specialty maki rolls are quite inventive and good, but even the ordinary ngiri was well made and very fresh. They do charge you for what you don't eat so I'd recommend sitting at the sushi bar and pacing yourself and only ordering a little at a time. We didn't have anything else to eat. Green tea was lukewarm. I concur with what other people have said about poor service. When our food was served, we asked the waitress to point out which of the rolls we had ordered had tempura crunchies in them, for the benefit of our son, who can't eat wheat, and she had no idea which roll was which, and didn't offer to find out either. If you have someone in your party with a hearty appetite who can really pack away sushi (like my son), this place is a great bet. The sushi is light years better than what is put out at local places that have a sushi buffet, such as Minado in Natick. We will be back.

The service was terrible, waitress was rude. My daughter is 12 and ordered from the 12 and under menu and the waitress questioned my daughter about her age asking if she is "really 12:" When my daughter said yes, she said are you sure? So rude. We ordered a gluten free meal and they got it wrong, had to re cook it and brought it out after everyone else was already finished. Food was nothing special at best. Chicken was dry. I would never go back there again, Too bad because we went for my sons birthday and were hoping for a fun place to celebrate. Extremely disappointed.

Had a good experience with the family at Tenka. We tried the Hibachi and a few items from their menu. The service was great and the food was good as well. I would recommend this place to others as well. Look forward to trying their sushi. Thanks.

Really excited for sushi takeout today. Ordered 2 specialty rolls, a standard roll and wonton soup. The specialty rolls were okay at best -- I ordered the winding way roll & the angel roll. The texture was off in both -- which I think was overcooked rice. Plus, they weren't rolled properly so they were very messy and kept falling apart. While the fish tasted fresh overall, the taste was very flat and nothing that made me go 'wow' or really woke up my taste buds. For a 'specialty' roll, I expect a lot more. The standard yellowtail & scallion role was better than the specialties. While it was still falling apart, it had a better balance and freshness (likely due to the wasabi inside). The wonton soup was also disappointing. The taste was off a bit; not sure if it was the broth that contributed to it as it had many mushrooms in it, or the meat itself. 3 wonton's were served in the soup, which is one to two less than I would expect. The worst part, however, is that I found a hair in the last bite of one of my specialty rolls. It was a good 2 inches. I get that it wasn't intentional to include hair (unless it's complimentary, and I missed that part?). So the 2-stars isn't for the hair, it's for the lackluster food. Definitely would not recommend & definitely won't be going back.

I think that people need to have good sushi before they get all worked up about the stuff they serve here....this is NOT good sushi this is Asian Buffet free sushi.....I have eaten here twice and have found the sushi to be flavorless and the Pad Thai to be deplorably bad. Maybe it's just me but I distrust any place that offers an "all you can eat" option the same way I would if they offered a special on yesterday's Maki Rolls. Too bad because Central Mass has very few decent places for pan-Asian cuisine.

This review is based on the pricing with groupon (50% off). I enjoyed their speciality roll which is delicious and creative. It's also large in term of portion (it's not cheap though unless you inlude groupon discount then it's very reasonable). My wife had chinese food and she thought that was good. Without groupon I would probably stick with Chinese poriton of the menu as sushi speciality roll is on the expensive side.

This was the best Chinese food I've ever had. We opted for the traditional American Chinese food rather than the sushi or hibachi that day and were extremely impressed. The szechuan peppercorn-encrusted crispy chicken was to die for and the vegetable chow-fun had multiple layers of flavor. Only wish I lived closer!

Been here a few times and you should go for the hibachi. The steak hibachi is tasty and you can see the cut of meat that your getting and its cooked to order in front of you. They also do $25 all you can eat sushi. Haven't done it yet but if you like sushi then you can get your money's worth. There Thai chicken lettuce wraps and scallion pancakes are also really good. Everything is fairly priced and the service has generally been quick and helpful.

just recently came here with a co worker for lunch. (go to chef orient down the street for hibachi) i guess im a bit confused with the other reviewers on the 5 star rating for this place. i mean one guy said he docked a star for service...but unless he started with 6....i dont see how it came down to 5? o_O '' Restaurant: atmosphere and ambiance was pretty good. a huge step up from the once canyon cafe. the owners have definitely invested a lot into the place. there are 2 areas, traditional dining, and hibachi seating. co worker and i went the shock and awe path and took hibachi. FOOD: ordered the hibachi chicken and scallops lunch special. comes with soup a miso shrimp version(2/5), salad with asian dressing (2/5), noodles (5/5) and a fried rice (3/5). (saving grace was that it was freshley prepped in front of us hibachi style by a lanky and incoherent japanese guy who was good but definitely didnt like performing for peanuts. we also ordered an order of tuna sushi and spicy tuna roll...this is where the travesty occurred. spicy tuna is made to be...spicy and full of mayo goodness. This was somewhere between tuna sashimi and red pepper. the tuna sushi was 5 dollars for 2 pieces of tuna about the size of my pinky. other than the fact that i was warned by a friend that this place is a rip off.....i didnt know that 5 dollars would buy me 1 gram of tuna. i cant even give the sushi side of this a score.... apologies, it was that bad. Service: like the other reviewers said, i dont think the lot of them had much experience, which is fine, but our waitress barely spoke up, it was hard to hear in that place to begin with and it took a couple seconds to understand what she was saying. hibachi man....your all right in my book. feel bad that you have to split your hard earned tips with a waitress who has trouble saying are you ready to order.

Our first visit was last night motivated by a Groupon. We were very surprised when we arrived to see message boards stating "No Sushi buffet with Groupon" "No specials with Groupon" when the Groupon clearly stated only alcohol but no other restrictions. We ate Chinese and Japanese items that were good but not outstanding. The servers' English seemed to be very limited until it came to the bill. I asked for a Golden Margarita and the barman (not tender) had no clue what it was and was defensive (they used table salt on the glass). We had an early dinner and would come back but we were not pleased about the new Groupon restrictions. Chen Du need not worry. Eileen

Excellent sushi and great service. The best part was the all you can eat sushi for $24.99! Even though they used limited menu there was still wide selection to chose from including the Chefs Rolls. The staff was very attentive and meals prepared and severed promptly. Being the only table in the restaurant at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon probably had large factor. I will defiantly be visiting again soon with friends and family.

awesome sushi. FRESH and well prepared. Personalize service from the manager. Can't say enough about the place. Nice to have something like this in the area instead of a chain restaurant

Went here for dinner after passing it a few times on Rte. I read the reviews and decided not to try and experiment with the sushi or sashimi... better you than me. Ordered the chicken skewer app (Chicken teriaki)... very good, egg roll app .. Good on the inside a little to crispy outside. For dinner Tempura which I was enjoyed by my companion. I ordered the orange chicken which was delicious with a side of vegetables also delicious. Went on a weeknight and the waiter was on the ball. Only give this an ok rating because of the prices. Now I'm going to nitpick .... soda refills should be free.. just charge a fair price once please. Went Overall a good experience but bring your wallet.

The sushi is decent. Drinks are good, and the place has a nice ambiance to it. Been there twice, though, and each time we got the same waitress who just kept hovering around the table, NON-STOP. We repeatedly asked for a few minutes of peace but noooo. Felt rushed and frankly, uncomfortable. Not like they needed to turn the table on a weekend afternoon, just really awkward service. Well-intentioned but off-putting nevertheless.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
