The food is quite good, much much better than "The Empire Wok" place up the road, the cooks make great tasting chinese food. The crab rangoons are superb! The egg rolls are delicious, the chicken fingers are never ever greasy, the fried rice is very very good! You can't get much better than this for a chinese food joint!

I got take out from this place because it was later at night and cheap for my friends and I. When I put in my order, I was greeted by a rather uncaring woman who clearly didn't want my business. Lucky for her I wanted their food. Long story told, the delivery man was a nice guy and my friends and I sat down for some late night chow. The food was really greasy. The standard apps such as pork ribs, chicken fingers, and crab rangoons were average, nothing better or worse than some of the restaurants out there, but everything was extremely greasy as if they didn't try and splash out the grease after frying it. The fried rice was slightly dry, and the sesame chicken had bits of cartilage in it that always drives me insane. To be fair, I am picky about it and I have been to some nicer restaurants that have the same problem. All in all, the food was alright and cheap. I wouldn't hold anything against them, but there are definitely better restaurants in the area. I wouldn't look back at this place after going to some of the alternatives.

Being sober right now, this place defiantly gets 2 stars. Ask me in a few hours when I had a few or when the clock hits 1:00AM ....which ever one comes first, Main Street food defiantly gets a 4 star rating in my book. Don't take a risk and order something off the menu. Stick to the combo's menu and hope its gets to you before you pass out from a night of shenanigans. AND thank goodness they deliver to Nichols!

Webster is a town full of Chinese food and pizza, so it's appropriate that finding good food in Webster is like finding a non-diabetic shopper at Walmart. Unfortunately Main St Chinese just doesn't cut it. Many of the other reviews have pointed out that this place gets better at 2am, so that should tell you something. If the food their is only good after a night of drinking, how good can it really be? I ordered a combination plattet of pork fried rice, chicken fingers, and spare ribs. The rice was dry but had good flavor. The chicken and ribs were both terrible though. The chicken was of decent portion, but tasted like it had gone bad. The ribs had decent flavor, but the portion was small, mostly consisting of small stering of pork. Overall this place is a solid two stars.

If I could give negative stars I would. The last time I ordered food from here I charged it to my credit card. When the delivery man came to drop off the food he asked for my credit card and my Id. I assumed it was to make sure the information I gave over the phone was actually mine. Then he starts writing down all of my information, including my drivers license info. When I to,d him I was not comfortable with someone just writing down my personal info and took it away from him, he walks away with our food and the cash tip we had given. We called to make sure the card would of be charged. Our card as charged, the driver kept the tip, and we had no food.had to call again to make the driver return the undeserved tip. Never ever ever EVER again. There's not enough alcohol in the World would make me order drunk Chinese from this ripoff joint ever again. So disappointed.

I must agree with the other reviews here. This place is just one big MEH. Being that I don't drink and I'm past the point of causing trouble, my opinion will not waver. If you must partake, definitely stick to the combos. If you can wait a few minutes, I recommend traveling five minutes east to Himalaya Wok.

Looking for sub-par to average Chinese takeout fare? You're looking at the right place! Don't over order and expect to eat left over Chinese the next night either; you'll just think to yourself "It wasn't that good last night, how could I expect it to be better nuked?" I've ordered from Main St. well over a dozen times over the past couple years and while there have been a few stellar deliveries most are very "ugh" or "eh" and often time "blah."

This is literally the worst Chinese place around. Worse than Himalaya Wok, far worse than Empire Wok and Happy Garden, immensely worse than the Thai Garden and Eastern Pearl on the same street. There is no valid reason to ever eat here unless you're trashed at 2am and really need Chicken Finger for reasons that you won't even remember the next morning. My first experience here was due to a mix of desperation and curiosity. I ordered some rice, a scallion pancake and some pork noodle soup. The scallion pancake was drenched in grease. It was spotting through the bag before we had even opened it. It got everywhere, and wouldn't come off. It was greasier than even the worst pizza I've had in my life. The fired rice, which is supposed to be a universal constant of goodness, was awful. How do you screw up fried rice? It was dark and weird looking, and had a burned, ashy taste to it. Is this food? The soup was the clincher. It was literally tap water with freezedried noodles and thin, pink pork strips floating in it. That's it. Oh my god. I've eaten there twice since, both out of desperation and hunger late at night, and each time I keep thinking "it's not that bad, they can't make THAT disgusting" And then these people do. The food is just freaking awful. It's even worse than any nasty hole in the wall Worcester has to offer. Never eat here. I don't care how hungry you are. Don't do it. If people stop buying, this place can go away forever.

What you see is what you get. Food is alright, typical American "Chinese" food. A few good things about Main Street Chinese is the people that work there don't live there in the back room or anything (believe me, some places actually house the employees in a backroom, there is one such place in Webster). Another thing is everything is made there, not frozen rangoons and crap. And other things worth mentioning: Unless Dunkin Donuts, fast food or convenience stores is your thing, there is nothing else to eat very late, and, although some people may complain about cleanliness, there are very few open kitchen chinese places around. Kenny hides nothing in his place. His delivery people are pretty low in intelligence, but he does deliver and he's not a garbage buffet place.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
