This is my go-to place for Chinese food in Watertown. Generally speaking, their stuff is decent and fresh, but the thing that keeps me coming back are their egg rolls. Perfection. I've only been disappointed by one thing: their spicy string beans are not very spicy or particularly flavorful. I suppose I may have been spoiled by the version they serve at Chili Garden in Medford, where they use real Chinese long beans instead of your more common green bean. This place also has incredibly fast delivery, at least for me.

Tasty, fresh and reasonably priced (although of course it adds up damn fast, but what chinese food doesn't?). Some of the best chinese in the area. Fairly quick delivery- Waltham and beyond (definitely to Watertown Square). Only qualms: when we've ordered "Shrimp with x" dishes, only a few shrimp come. Should be lots o' shrimps, and a bit of x. However, great mix of veggies in the dishes, good sauces. Amusing Engrish on menu but overall a solid takeout place.

i have been there a few times. run off the mill chinese... but come on a hair in my food? i'll go back but, i want a free meal! a hair doesn't get me grossed out, but still it is not acceptable when you are paying your hard earned money.

YUM, I love the food here. Very good, very hot and good prices! The place is take out only and the food is ready fairly quickly. One night I did have to wait longer than usual, but there were a lot of people waiting and it was prime time!

Gotta love lily's good food, haven't found another Chinese locally that delivers as good as this place. We always get the Gen. Gau and pork lo mien with some crab rang's on the side, good stuff! I'd recommend it to anybody except to people i don't like, I'd tell them to eat in the sewer.

I really like this place. My fiancee and I order from here regularly. There is really no place to sit so it's take-out only, but they are friendly, the food is always fresh, and it is priced well. They have combo meals that allow you to try a few different things off the menu. Our favorites are the egg foo young, general gau's chicken, and crab rangoons. We've really never gotten anything bad there. The portions are enormous so they are good to share, or you end up with a bunch left over.

I went there a lot, good price, delicious food, prepare food fast, but it's cold inside store and the space is limited.

Probably the best chinese food near watertown to be honest. It's americanized but the quality isn't too shabby.

All I have to say is this... this place is good if you have a craving for Chinese and need to satisfy it. Other than that, the food is eh okay. But better than Tiki House or 3 Fortunes.

I just ordered food from Lillys to try a new chinese place. I got a dinner combo plate with pork fried rice, boneless ribs, and crab ragoons. My bf got a plate with pepper steak with no onions, fried shrimp, and pork fried rice. My plate was full with rice (all the sections!) and I got only 4 pieces of ribs and 3 crab ragoons. The rice was good, it had a little spicy kick to it but I ordered a combo plate because I didn't want just rice. Four pieces of ribs is so cheap. My boyfriend had more meat than I did but 3/4 of his plate was rice. He also had about a whole peppers worth of green peppers and then a little meat. My ribs were very chewy and they were dry. The only good thing was that the crab ragoons were delicious. We basically paid 20 dollars for two plates of rice and a few pieces of meat. I won't be ordering from them anymore unless just to get their ragoons. Definitely sticking to Asia Wok.

This place was so gross. I ordered in the lunch special - Chicken Chow Mein which came with pork fried rice and a your choice of a side (I chose the spring roll). I also ordered a scallion pancake. The scallion pancake was edible. The dipping sauce was like water so I added soy sauce to it (and no, it's not because I'm a westernized idiot who has to slosh soy sauce over everything.) The meal didn't come with chop sticks or napkins which I found annoying. The chicken chow mein was so gross and the fried rice was tasteless and just strange. This was chinese food at it's absolute worst and this it wasn't even 2 am on a friday night. I also ordered two bottles of water. The water was cold and refreshing..poland spring. That was the highlight of the meal. My total was $14 not including tip. Seriously, don't ever eat here.

This place is very hit or miss. I had it a few weeks go and was very impressed with the food, but then got it again last night and thought it was terrible. I give it two stars because I am not willing to take a gamble on somewhere if I am going to lay down money for food and not be guaranteed to get the A-game when I go. Overall quite disappointing.

I've tried a bunch of Chinese restuarants in Waltham and Newton (Sezchuan, Asian Taste, one on Main St and others) and Lily's is hands down my top choice. The Combination dinners provide a significant amount of top quality food for about $7.25. I usually get the chicken dishes I am always picky about the restaurants using high quality meat and not just trying to "flavor over" poorer quality meat. They deliver or you can pick up but there is no room to eat in. Probably the one downside.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
